Thoughts on Boromir?

one aspect about them i love

One thing I love about Boromir is his bravery. He faces the same horrors as the rest of the Fellowship, but he doesn't run away. He will put himself in danger if it means protecting the others. He's protective and caring. What more can I say?

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

I don't think he's dumb, evil or easily influenced. The One Ring is just powerful enough to show him what he wants to see. He gave in to temptation, but his heart was in a good place. He just wanted to save his people. And in the long run, he did succeed (in a roundabout way.) The quest was completed, even if he wasn't there to see it.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character

He can roast just about anything and make it delicious. Boromir spends a lot of time out in the field so he has to know how to get food in the wild. He traps game animals (like rabbits and birds) and uses what local herbs he can find to season it.

one character i love seeing them interact with

Aragorn. Their interactions are the most important ones in the books. At first Boromir is skeptical towards him but then warms up to him. It's the classic "strangers to comrades" type of dynamic I really enjoy.

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

Faramir! We only know what his brother says about him, but in the books I would've like to see these two interact, especially in childhood. I wonder how early they started training to be warriors, and when their differences in personality really started to show. In short, I wanted to see Boromir and Faramir growing up together!

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character

Boromir and Faramir used to sneak out and go on adventures when they were young. Faramir was always the careful one that made sure they had food and gear to be safe out in the wild, and Boromir was the one drawing maps of all the places they used to go. Later on, Boromir's maps he made in childhood would be useful for the long journey he was about to take.

I think that on a great portion of his life, his highest priority was always: SURVIVE. There's very little he wouldn't sacrifice if it meant he stayed alive.

The only other priority that only overshadowed it (and maybe even intensified it) was Keeping his daugther safe.

The third and fourth, more relevant after he managed to fulfill the first two, are always Chaos and Power.

We're good for one night stands together; it's easy cuz we already know exactly what we like.

But inevitably the longer we're together, we try to kill each other. Thinking too much a like drives us crazy I suppose.

⚪ what's your headspace like?

Our headspace!.. This is embarrassing.

The front room is kind of the cliché "Inside Out Control Room," except a more pink thing and such. There's a forest that only Frankie has access to, and Ula has her own room. We have no clue where Lala and Pearl reside most of the time however Pearl so far has stayed near the front room.

Fun fact- we view the headspace like thoughts / projections. There's a term, but we forgot it

Anyway! I'll go with Kazuma. Everyone is wrong about Kazuma. They write him like a normal guy who WOULDN'T just throw his life out of wack to have a chance to see his heart. This guy was LITERALLY prepared to give up ever getting his vengeance, which was all he was living for, just to save his bestie. Whom he also wanted desperately to beat into the ground after his embarrassing defeat. More wounded animal and unhinged Kazuma, this man was INCHES away from killing a man and then DID HIS BEST TO LIE ABOUT IT TO HIS BESTIE'S FACE. Kazuma is UNHINGED we need more unhinged Kazuma, not normal prosecutor man. This guy 100% would go insane a year into working with Barok and murder someone just to get his bestie back by his side.

The G Gundam hyperfixation is still going strong, but of course I've got plenty of other interests, Gundam Wing, Cats, Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh, DC Comics, uh,,, Disney,,, if you've seen me talk about it, even years ago, go right ahead. (Also, I'm gonna go ahead and say that poly ships are cool, and het ships count if you specify they're bi4bi/t4t/whatever.)

The Crows. Dina is, in her own way, a very selfish person, and doesn't understand Zev's insistence at dismantling the Crows. As reluctant a Grey Warden as she is, she has made the Wardens her clan and won't leave them except to do her duty by her other clan (Sabrae). She doesn't like Zev leaving for long periods of time to do his anti-Crow work, and she doesn't want to go with him because she's needed with the Wardens. In her mind, the Wardens have given Zev shelter and they're not coming after him, so that should be the end of it. She won't admit it, but she's afraid he's going to get killed and she won't be there to find out about it or bury him. It's actually this point, and Zev's memory of Broken Circle, that eventually wins her the argument.

Which makes it even worse when he dies.

Dina has a lot of trouble trusting Zev with wilderness related tasks. She knows his mother was Dalish and that he spent years as a professional assassin and probably spent a lot of time in the wilderness because of that, but... he grew up in a tiny apartment in a large city and lacks any common sense around halla. (any kind of thing you shouldn't do around horses or goats.... standing behind them where they can't see you, letting individuals get greedy about food, etc ... you name it, Zev has done it and freaked Dina out)

Consequently, he's also definitely not trusted to prepare her tu’ashavh’alla ie fantasy HRT. It's made from halla urine, and Zev might be good at poisons but she does not trust him to make this.

The flip side of this is that Zev doesn't trust her to handle finances. The Dalish tend to share resources as much as possible, and Dina spent most of her time with the halla herds, not trading, so she was in her mid20s before she was handling money on a regular basis. And then someone put her in charge of an army??? She doesn't know how much things cost.

Zev associates his sword, Creation's Sister, with Dina. It was given to him by either a spirit taking her form or a future version of her during Broken Circle. He's not entirely sure which, but it's a good sword.

Dina of course associates her garnet ear cuff with Zev, which he gave her when they got engaged. It's the only piece of jewelry she wears often, and in fact wears it every day unless she's doing something sneaky.

Eventually, she also has Creation's Sister, as well.

How do you think Jess Pinkman and Britta Perry are doing these days?

oh man. I HOPE THEY ARE WELL. I really don't remember where things ended up on Community (did I actually finish watching that final season?? HMMM)

ok I just remembered that I am in charge of how they are doing actually so yeah they're doing great. Jesse is the manager of a pizza restaurant, he likes working with his hands and not having too much responsibility. He's a chill boss and college kids like working with him. They offer a discount if you buy uncut pizzas, and Britta convinces him to donate a bunch of pizzas to Pizza for the Polls and other political events.

Britta works as a political organizer. She's not like SUPER good at it but she tries, and Jesse is very proud of her.

Jesse proposes marriage to her, and she says she loves him but she rejects the patriarchal concept of marriage, and he says what if he takes her last name, and she says OK. It's a small ceremony but Mike is Jesse's best man and Annie is Britta's maid of honor.

They don't have any kids but Jesse comes to really love all of Britta's cats.

They are very happy. Because I said so!!

And also because Walt is dead.

but also when Jonathan Banks joined the cast of Community I wrote an unhinged AU where his character was just Mike in a different identity, so Jesse got a fake identity from the vacuum cleaner salesman, quit making meth, moved to Colorado, attended Greendale Community College and started dating Britta Perry. just so you know. just so you know HOW GOOD I AM AT HAVING IDEAS.

🍪- What are their favorite scents? : I think Elio would like the smell of Lavender, Honey, Vanilla and Tangerines. Also the smell of grass - either freshly mowed or just before rain. So, all around sweet and calming.

💛- Are they ‘good with children’, or more awkward?: I think they are on that sweet spot between good and awkward, that the kids find them a bit of a "silly grown-up", but like his company either way. But that really only goes with hanging out with kids, not actually when he has to be a bit firmer (like when trying to get kids to understand why acting a certain way is rude), then he's just plain awkward and isn't really taken seriously.

🐸- What’s this oc’s sense of humor like?: Laughs at the corniest jokes known to man. Also, videos of any type of animal being completely silly. Give them a compilation and they will laugh until they are breathless. Very easygoing humor.
