wow, your latest qna about DN made me think, who is the most and least aggressive person in ranking? What do you think KO? How would you rank them? I think my top three would be damon/ emory/ michael. Now that you've mentioned about damon and emory, it reminded me of your past posts about their personalities and collaboration, how well they could work together without having any problems because they probably are pretty much on the same level of aggression and level-headedness, and only until now, i never actually realised that emmy IS pretty aggressive and dominant?

I dont think PD executed em's character well, but because of that qna, it made me zoom out of my understanding of DN and compare and contrast these characters, and surely, emmy really was pretty aggressive. Like why am i even shock, lmfaooo. I think other than PD not executing it well, emmy was also dealing with a lot of doubts and fear when it comes the "thunder bay" part of her life. We dont see her hesitating afterwards right? But then we dont see much of her overall. This also made me think thats why the train exchange between emmy, michael and kai had to happen. Or she will just leave again lmao.

I remember watching larryreads's reaction to reading nightfall and she mentioned something about emmy being a shy nerd and i was like what? Did we read the same book, because the word shy or blush didnt even exist in nightfall. I remember emmy being described as ready-to-fight, cocky and stubborn, and quite flirt/spicy when she let go too (hence why emmy overpowered alex in their friendship dynamic, or even between emmy and aydin/damon), as oppose to banks who's very beautiful, prickly, super great boxing fighter, outwardly aggressive, steady reliable great worker who can also work in the dark, very loyal and honest. Im not saying they both dont possess these traits, im just saying one is more dominant than the others when it comes to these traits, especially in decision making. Emmy dngaf much about being shrewd or use lies and manipulation in a bigger scale, but banks did grew up being forward, straightforward and honest. And omg, another contrast!!

OMGGGGG If DN is famous, AO3 writers wouldve written them as that powerful feme duo, frfr. Ngl, banks and emmy really reminds me of Tristan and Dante from the dark verse series by runyx, where tristan is banks, and dante is emmy. Tristan is that dark, broody, killer and dante is the mediator and decider. Remind me of lana myers and jake denver, jake is emmy and lana is banks in terms of the do-er and the mastermind. Submissive and dominant. Not in the temperament all the time, but in overall characteristics and actions? And i just noticed too that We just dont see because emmy as being aggressive or pioneering because of side characters overtaking her povs in nightfall + her being introverted. But even then, i feel like emmy's voice still surface above them when it comes to decision making whether anyone agrees or not, which is why emmy can also be very divisive in the fandom, Which omg!!!! This brings back to that MBTI test, emmy really does sound like an INTJ, haha! And banks, ESTJ? ISTJ? Anyway, didnt emmy took a lot of control in fire night? From her conversation with will, her going after the evil guys, and talking to the cops. Yeah.

Like tbh im just running off with these ideas, that qna opens up a whole new discussion for the emmy x banks best friends agenda that i never thought of before. It also made me consider different types of aggression, like physical, emotional and thinking. And i feel like inner aggression (in spirit) would still dominate others. No matter how i see, i cannot see anyone being ranked above emory, damon and michael in terms of aggression. i feel like even kai ranks below them, because he can be neutral and passive sometimes. But thats the thing, theres no right or wrong or whos better or worse like emmy was better because shes dominant and banks was worse because she was submissive; theres just only the ranking, and it actually does open up to a deep dive of these characters' traits, and how they shape each others' dynamics. And if they really are family who fight for each other and cross anybody who comes after them, they were bound to trust each other with their temperament, strengths and weakneses sooner or later right? Rather than everybody doing whatever they want, the task divided by the the keader would be more efficiently done.

so what do you think of these? I dont rank will, rika and winter because i feel like theyre more on the submissive side. And i believe they fully enjoy their roles and have no priblem doing whatever works for the sake of their family. Not every one can and HAVE to be dominant, what one cant do, the others can. Thats what found family does right?

This ask is so exciting! Let’s get right into it. I’m going to save my ranking for the end, but I did have to spend some time thinking about it.

I’m not really sure why people started thinking about Emory as a smol shy bean, because she’s not passive in the least. In the past scenes, we met her when she’s quitting the swim team, and she says this is because she can no long wear the swim suit but she knows this is going to piss Martin off.

The thing is, she pisses Martin off on purpose on the regular as a way to rebel. She’s quiet about her abuse because she wants to remain close to her grandmother, and I’m not implying that she enjoys it by any means. Still, she knows Martin expects perfection from her, so she purposefully doesn’t brush her hair or iron her uniform. She lets the buttons fall off her cuffs. You can’t tell me Emory couldn’t figure out how to sew a button. She quits band, too. She does these things to intentionally irritate him.

She goes to her first period class; a senior class because they moved her up from the junior level because she wouldn’t shut up and stop challenging the teacher. Of course, there she doesn’t speak up much, but considering the subject matter, can we blame her? She still walks out without the teacher’s approval.

Emory likes showing off. She likes feeling like the smartest or most skilled person in the room. She thinks of herself that way, for the most part. Even when she gets to Blackchurch, and she doesn’t know anything about anyone there, she still thinks of herself as better simply because she’s not a criminal (which is funny for someone who previously watched a murdered happen, and helped bury a body, and vandalized a grave, and nearly committed grand theft auto, and so on, but the self-awareness is difficult when you’re in an unhealthy mental state). And despite being in a room full of criminals, she shows no hesitation in trying to best them because it’s what comes naturally to her.

I don’t think that PD told Emory’s story in the best way possible. However, a lot of what makes Emory who she is, is subtle and takes some digging and examining to understand. This could be said for all the characters, it’s just that I don’t like most of the characters enough to try to examine them this deeply. There is one bonus with PD not giving Emory a lot of attention – there’s less time to make her contradict herself as we see with Damon and Rika. As their characters get more and more light, some things make less and less sense.

Regardless, I agree with her that Emory is one of the most aggressive characters in terms of personality within the main crew.

At this point, I don’t think Emory had any plans of leave which is why she agreed to stay so easily. But it’s interesting that Michael said she was going to stay at St. Killian’s where they could watch her and she immediately refused that in a way that made it clear she would still be doing what she wanted.

Michael has to decide if it’ll be worth the effort it’ll take to exert his dominance over her, knowing she won’t go down easily. He backs off because it’s enough that she’s playing along.

I think he knows that he could overpower her if he wanted to. It’s just not worth the effort when she’s cooperating, which means he knows how much it would take to get her to do what he wanted. It’s an interesting dynamic.

This is an excellent contrast.

Banks, in my opinion, is great at getting things done. She’s capable of calling the shots and making decisions. However, she’s also interested in maintaining the established order of things.

Maybe that’s why she wanted to be Senator, or was at least willing to go along with it. Coming into the group, there was already a dynamic at play. Michael was the leader, Kai his second, Rika his girl. She’s coming in under Kai and Damon. There’s a structure to the way the group works.

She isn’t afraid to call it how she sees it, which makes her useful to Michael. Kai is much to interested in keeping things agreeable. For instance, in the Hideaway deleted scene when he almost doesn’t tell Will why they’re meeting without him. He doesn’t want to alienate Will or make him feel bad for his behavior, even though his behavior has been pretty undesirable from a business standpoint. Banks doesn’t have that issue.

Still, she doesn’t want to disrupt the order, so she sticks to her role and doesn’t challenge it. Being a Senator gives her a space where she’s the one in control. It’s a different structure than what she’s walked into with the Horsemen.

In terms of how aggressive they are in getting their opinions across or getting their way, I do agree that Emory is more aggressive than Banks.

I think what we’re talking about is a battle of wills. Banks is straightforward, while Emory is more reserved, but both are loyal and value their relationships, so it could be that with each other they’d bend a little.

What you’re saying does make sense, but I think the way I’m interpreting it is that Emory, insisting on her idea and visions, gets her way if only because Banks doesn’t want to fight it. It’s not something she’s motivated to do, and she’s fine giving Emory the room to be the lead in their relationship.

I agree that there’s nothing insulting about they’re dynamics. I really do thing that they work because there’s nothing negative about the way they approach each other. They’d support each other undoubtingly, but give each other room to be themselves.

When they’re at they’re best, I think Banks is more subdued and accepting than Emory is. Like I said above, Banks is more outgoing and straightforward, but Emory’s opinions on things are stronger, so I think Banks would let her have her way.

However, if it did come to a point where they were on opposite sides of an issue, Emory would probably hold out longer than Banks. Unlike Michael, I don't think Banks would be able to subdue Emory if she wanted to. I also just don't think Banks would ever want to.

Additionally, regarding what you said at the start about my analysis of Damon and Emory’s relationship – I think if a difficult situation arose, Banks would seek out the others before acting, whereas Emory and Damon would know what needs to get done and silently do it without involving the others. They’re not going to wait for confirmation, or for the crew to debate, or wrestle with their conscience. They know what the hard decision is and they’ll make it without needing to discuss it. Banks could make the difficult choice too and be confident in it, she would just talk to the others first. That's the difference.

Unfortunately, I don’t know any of these references. I mean, I know where they come from, but I haven’t read any of those so I can’t confirm. However, if someone else has thoughts you’re willing to share, please jump in.

Ah, yes the MBTI. I never heard back from the person who asked me to clarify, but I guess I’ll take the chance now.

When I started looking at my original answers, I was overcome with this feeling that Banks was an Extrovert. But that didn’t make any sense; Banks as an extrovert? So I started reading scenes with her exclusively, and I realized that… yeah, there’s a good chance for it.

What I did from there was go to MBTI-Notes, which is a blog here on tumblr, and instead of going directly to the types to see which one “fit”, I went through the functions and through process of elimination, narrowed down which function seemed to be expressed through the character’s POV chapters. From there, I built a stack that formed a type. I then went to the type to see if it worked.

Understandably, most worked… if you take into account the types when they’re in “grips” or “loops” (are we really surprised that all of the characters fall in the unhealthy range for their type). Anyway, being stuck in a grip or loop can change the way you’re personality presents outwardly.

Through this method, I determined Banks was an ESTJ, and here is the page for that. With Emory, I came to the conclusion she was INFJ.

But I encourage you to go through the functions and see what you come up with. There were definitely times I was on the fence for all the characters, so it’s up for interpretation.

That’s really the reason why I continue to post these asks. It opens up the conversation, allows people to see a different interpretation and think about it. Maybe you agree, maybe you don’t. But it gets the conversation started.

Exactly! It’s only natural that people have different strengths and weaknesses. I love when it’s clear that a group works because they rely on each other and make up for each other’s lack, and no one is made to feel ashamed for it.

Anyway, my ranking of characters in terms of how aggressive their personality it:

These three take the top, as you said. The way that I see it, them wanting things they're way is a driving force in all they're stories. They’re competitive, and hate losing. In fact, I think they feel the pain of losing more than they feel the satisfaction of winning, and that's what drives them.

Damon

Michael

Emory

Damon comes first for obvious reasons, Michael comes second because he keeps Damon in line, and then Emory because while I don’t think she can control Damon, she won’t be steamrolled by him either. And that says something. And since these three can handle each other, we know anyone else is a breeze.

Banks because she’s upfront about it. Then comes Will because he can be aggressive when he’s pushed to it. But also the whole Blackchurch, faking being subdued while he was actually waiting for the moment to take control, which he was planning and preparing for… he’s not as submissive as he wants people to believe he is.

Also, the moment in Emory’s house when he tells her that Martin needs to know about him, that he’s her man now? All Will wanted was to get Martin in the same room so he could stack his claim on Emory. There's something about that assertiveness that gives Will and duality the other's don't have. His in the middle of assertive and passive, but he knows what he's doing and he isn't ashamed of it.

Kai is sixth in line because he can be aggressive, but he likes to do it in secret. It's not something he utilizes, and I think in a situation where the others above him might become aggressive, he might still choose to take a passive approach for reasons only he knows (or perhaps doesn't).

Rika has more aggression than Winter, but she’ll bow to any one of the others if they were to go head-to-head. I think it’s probably clear that any battle she wins, is because the other person decided it wasn’t worth the fight.

November 2023 Fat Update:

I haven’t done one of these in shoot, probably a year now, so I guess it was time for a new one.

* Highest weight ever, 285 and knocking on the door of 290 sometimes.

* Most of my t shirts now my belly hangs out the bottom. On ones that don’t, any slight movement will make it ride up and the belly peek out. I’ve had to go up a size to 2XL now on new shirts

* None of my old work button ups fit properly and when I wear them, it’s a struggle to keep them button since they just keep popping. Kinda hot when someone points out your shirt is unbuttoned down by your gut…

* Friends have started making comments like “big guy” or asking if I’m going to start trying to lose some weight or work out.

* I have never been physically this big. Pictures truly don’t do justice to how big this belly is and how far it sticks out compared to the rest of my body.

* It’s getting very hard to bend over or squeeze in and out of people’s cars.

* My breasts have grown so much they’re always getting in my way and even they poke out so much when I wear almost anything. Getting jokes about having to start wearing a bra (which I wouldn’t be opposed to)

* My upper belly has become so prominent and protrudes so much I’m really getting that round ball gut slowly but surely

* Almost no spatial awareness when it comes to how wide my shoulders/arms are and how far out my gut is. Forever bumping into things and doors.

* Always out of breath. The easiest thing makes me winded.

* I’ve become so much more lazy, I used to always have to be going going going and now all I want to do is just relax at home, watch tv, and eat.

* Even with lifting my belly, it’s still almost impossible to see “down there” anymore. I pretty much rely on a mirror or by feel.

* Food seems to be the answer for everything and is always on my mind. Constantly thinking about the next meal even when I’m already sitting down to eat one.

I’m sure I’m missing some things but I just woke up and all I could think of… I hope you all enjoy my notes 😁

She knows she should wait when he’s free,she knows it, but she couldn’t wait especially after what happened??? After Miranda? She chews her lower lip as she looks down at his contact number on her phone, gardening gloves have been tossed aside as she walks back inside.

She was surprised her fuming hadn’t woken Shells or the kids up.

After a moment of internal debate, Beatrice made a decision. She couldn't wait. She needed to hear Rooster's voice, to share the strange occurrences that had unfolded in his absence. Pulling her phone closer, she took a deep breath and pressed the call button.

The phone rang a few times before Rooster answered, his voice groggy from the late hour. "Bea? Everything okay?"

“Hey…I know it’s late out there,sorry for waking you…”

“No,hey,” he grunts and the bed creaks as he sits up, “Don’t apologize gorgeous. You know I love hearing your voice especially when I’m deployed.”

Beatrice smiled, the warmth in Rooster's voice providing a comforting embrace, even across the miles that separated them. "I just... I needed to talk to you. Something happened, and I couldn't wait."

Rooster's tone shifted to alertness. "What happened? Are you okay?"

Beatrice hesitated for a moment, contemplating how to relay the events without causing unnecessary worry. "Miranda came over today. It was... strange, Rooster. She was saying things, trying to create tension or something again. I don't know what her game is…"

“ What did she say?"

Beatrice recounted the encounter, detailing Miranda's cryptic comments with detail, and Rooster listened attentively, remaining silent so his wife could let everything out without being interrupted.

When Beatrice finished, Rooster let out a heavy sigh. "Damn. I wish I was there, Bea. I don't like the sound of this. What did she want?"

"I have no idea," Beatrice admitted, frustration creeping into her voice. "It felt like she was trying to get under my skin, questioning your abilities as a pilot. It was bizarre, Rooster."

Rooster's tone shifted, a mix of annoyance and concern. "Questioning my abilities? What does she have to do with that?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out. It's like she's trying to stir up trouble again… I don’t know, is…well,is Mark bothering you guys too?”

A pause.

“You…could say that,gorgeous.”

"What's happening with Mark, Rooster?" Beatrice asked, her voice laced with worry.

"...I can’t say over a call baby" Rooster explained. "Too risky.”

“Are you all safe? Right now?”

"Yeah, we're safe for now. Just dealing with some internal issues. I'll fill you I can,I promise.”

Beatrice exhaled a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Okay. Just...be careful, Rooster. I don't like the sound of all this."

"Me neither,gorgeous…we’ll be okay," Rooster reassured her “I promise. We can handle…whatever this is.”

Beatrice nodded, even though Rooster couldn't see her. "I know. But it doesn't make it any easier when you're so far away."

"I know,gorgeous…did Miranda…said anything else?”

"Nothing else."

Rooster's voice softened. "I see… Shells is there with you, right?"

"Yeah, Shells has spending some time," Beatrice acknowledged, a small smile touching her lips. "But it's just... I don't want anything jeopardizing the peace we have at home, especially with you away on a mission."

"I know baby. I wish I could do more. Just remember, we're a team, no matter the distance. If anything feels off, trust your instincts, okay?"

"I will, Rooster. Always." she sighs, “I should probably let you go back to sleep.”

Rooster's voice held a comforting note. "I'm not going back to sleep until I know you're okay. Talk to me, Bea. What else is on your mind?"

Beatrice hesitated for a moment, debating whether to share the weight that had settled on her heart. "I just miss you, Rooster. And with all this happening, it feels like the world is a bit shaky."

"I miss you too, Bea. More than you can imagine. But we need to weather this storm, and then I promise I'll come back to you."

Tears welled up in Beatrice's eyes, the longing for Rooster magnified by the distance between them. "I know, Rooster. I just... I worry. About you, about us, about everything."

Rooster's voice softened, "We'll get through this, baby. I'll make it back to you. Just keep our home fires burning, okay?"

"I will," Beatrice whispered, a sniffle escaping her. "I love you, Rooster."

"I love you too, gorgeous. Now, get some rest. We'll talk soon."

After exchanging a few more words, Beatrice reluctantly ended the call. The weight of the conversation lingered in the air, a mix of concern, love, and the underlying uncertainty of the situation. She wiped away a tear, took a deep breath, and dropped her head on top of her folded arms as she rested on the kitchen table.

Jolene whined under her, her huge head plopping on Bea’s thigh as her paw landed on the human’s knee.

Beatrice absentmindedly ran her fingers through Jolene's fur, finding solace in the comforting presence of her loyal companion. As she sat there, Beatrice's mind danced between the happenings of the day.The encounter with Miranda left a lingering unease, like when you swallow bitter medicine. She couldn't shake the feeling that something ominous lurked beneath the surface, something she couldn't quite grasp.

Why were Miranda and Mark so obsessed with them? This has been happening for so long she couldn’t even figure out a fair reason to.

“Ah!’ Bea jumped, turning around to see Shells standing by the kitchen door, holding the twins to her chest while Nicole wobbled over to her mother. Bea sighed, picking Nicole up and standing to check on the other two, “Sorry,I…didn’t hear you.”

Shells grinned, gently rocking the twins in her arms. "No worries, Bea. You looked lost in thought. Everything okay?"

Beatrice sighed, her gaze drifting towards the window as if seeking answers in the starlit sky. "I just had a chat with Rooster. Miranda's visit today... it's been lingering on my mind. I can't shake this feeling of unease."

“...Miranda was here?”

“Oh,oh yeah you…were all asleep on the couch…you didn’t hear me by the door?”

Shells shook her head, a perplexed expression on her face. "No, I must've been out like a light. What happened with Miranda?"

Beatrice recounted the encounter with Miranda,  and Shells listened attentively, her brow furrowing as she processed the information.

"That's weird," Shells commented, her eyes narrowing in thought. "But…considering everything,I’m not surprised.”

Beatrice shrugged, her eyes reflecting the weariness that had settled into her bones. "I wish I knew what she wanted, Shells. Rooster mentioned some internal issues in the squadron, and now this with Miranda"

Shells gently rocked the twins, a thoughtful look on her face. "Maybe we should beat her up."

“Shells!”

“Beat er up!” Nicole giggled, throwing her little fists up.

“No-Shells,please don’t mention violence in front of my kids.”

Shells chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Alright, alright. No violence in front of the kids. We'll just have to outsmart her. Maybe throw her off with kindness or confuse her with some gardening trivia."

Beatrice rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips. "I appreciate the sentiment, Shells, but I just want things to settle down. Between Rooster being away, the breach, and now Miranda's mysterious antics, its a lot."

Shells nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's a lot to handle. But if Miranda wants to play games, she'll soon find out she picked the wrong opponents."

The twins, sensing the shift in energy, began to squirm in Shells' arms. Aurora reached out towards Beatrice, her tiny fingers trying to grasp onto her mother's hair.

"Looks like they want you, Bea," Shells chuckled, carefully passing the twins back to their mother as Bea but Nicole down. "I'll make some coffee. We might need it for our plotting against Miranda."

Beatrice cradled the twins in her arms, planting a soft kiss on each of their foreheads. "Thanks, Shells. I’d like that."

"Any word from Rooster?" Shells asked, as she marched over to the coffee maker, letting Bea handle the babies for a little while.

“I called him a few minutes ago."

“Yeah?”

“What did he say?”

“That I should listen to my gut if something feels off,” Bea smiles softly as she places the twins down on their bouncers a bit before preparing herself to feed them while Nicole walked over to her high chair, waiting to be settled.

Shells looked at her from the coffee maker,smirking a bit, “Well he doesn’t have to worry about that,does he? Gut feeling is our specialty.”

“It is?”

“I mean,I had a gut feeling you and Rooster would end up together, and surprise to no one, I was right!”

"Yeah, well, your gut feeling about Rooster and me was probably the only one that worked out."

Shells returned to the living room with two steaming mugs of coffee, handing one to Beatrice before taking a seat across from her. "True, I might not be the best fortune teller, but I make a killer cup of coffee. So spill, what's the plan, Bea?"

Beatrice puts Nicole on her high chair and then tilts her head ‘Plan?”

Shells took a thoughtful sip of her coffee, her eyes locking onto Beatrice's. "You know, for dealing with Miranda. What's our strategy? Besides not beating her up, of course."

"I'm not sure, Shells. If she wants drama, let's not give it to her."

Shells leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. "Ignoring her works for so long. Then what?"

Beatrice sighed, the weight of the situation settling back onto her shoulders. "I don't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing she's getting to us. Let's focus on our own circle.But for now, let's not let Miranda's games distract us."

“Hmmm…”

“I know you hate that idea.”

“You are absolutely right.” Shells says, “I hate it.“I’m just sayin’ we need to be proactive.” 

“I know…”

“Yeah..” Shells pulls out her phone, “Good thing I called Aunt Penny then! She can give us some advice,” if she noticed Bea’s wide eyed look she ignored it and kept on talking “You know she can help us out.’

“Shells.”

“And Mav.” oh God. “He can help us too!”

“Shells….”

“Yeah,we have this in the bag!” Shells laughs, “Anyway,coffee,right?”

Remember how in DS9 Quark asked Garak to kill him. To my knowledge he never told Garak he no longer wanted to die.

I picture the scene: 100 years later, Quark is lying in his coffin. His family have payed their respects and gone home. He is due to be vacuum desiccated the next day.

Enter Garak.

Now very old himself, the Cardassian's movements are stiff, and slow, but he shuffles his way to Quark's body, and removes from his pocket a small tool, which he places on Quarks head.

Quark opens his eyes, and sees Garak.

Quark: Garak, what are you doing here?

Garak: Fulfilling a promise.

Quark: What promise?

Garak: The one I made to you, of course. Back on DS9, so many years ago.

Quark (remembering, and then smiling): Too late tailor. You've been waiting for a century, and here I am dying of old age. If you want something doing, do it yourself, I guess.

Garak: Your quite wrong, you know…

Quark (laughing): Garak, I'm a 150 years old, of course I'm dying. Everyone from the old days is, hell I'm amazed you're still here.

Garak: True enough, I dare say even I haven't got too much time left. But you are not dying.

(A strange beeping sound comes the device on Quark's head)

Quark: What's that on my face?

(The beeping quickens)

I don't know?? I don't write angsty endings. I'm a happy ending or hopeful ending kinda gal.

lol pretty much all of them. It's the only kind of ending I write.

I have in the past. But if it's a comment, I usually immediately delete it because I don't need that in my life. I haven't really gotten either other kind of hate for the fic's I write. Or if I have, I honestly just don't remember it. It's not something I try to dwell on anymore.

I have! Though not in a while lol but hoping this year I get back into the swing of it.

10, Do you write cross-overs?

Not really. Generally I'll write an AU and mash up the ship I'm writing(or making a board) for into the universe that sparked the idea.

I have! It was an absolute delight to get asked to do so!

I have not! I've talked about it in the past with old friends but nothing ever came of it.

This is literally the hardest question ever lmao like, honestly once I decide a ship is "the ship" for the fandom I've fallen into, I love it forever. so like, my fave ship is a constantly routing list lol but currently right now it's: obikin, stony, coldflash, hangster, sterek, superbat.

When a ship sinks it's claws into like these have, they never really go away and the love for it never truly dies.

15, What's your WIP you like to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Ideally all of them! lol but truly, I'd really love to finish the ones I've already posted on Ao3, because they haunt me and I want to be rid of those ghosts.

16, What are your writing strength?

I don't know? Like, there are things about my writing I love but I don't know what I would consider my strength. Maybe dialogue? Making you feel emotions? How do people answer this!!

17, What are your writing weaknesses?

All of them??? lol I really don't know. I don't tend to write long fic's any more, like, my longest put on Ao3 is like around 16k and everything else is below that. So I genuinely don't know what I'm strongest at or weakest at because what I usually do is get a little blurb of a scene in my head, write it out and post it. Like it amazes me how I do any world building, character building, anything building in the 500 to 2k little moments I do write and post. (Though this year I am hoping to bang out a few long fic's, so maybe I'll find out what I'm strong at and what I'm weak at then!)

18, Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If I do, I do it in like italics or bold, something like that because I can no longer trust translator sites I find (if someone has a reputable one they can share?!!!?!!!?! let me know!!) but I got politely corrected a few too many times and realized since I don't speak another language, I cannot trust what I find.

So for me, I found it to just be like, 'he says this in his native tongue', because that way I'm not butchering something that means a lot to a group of people and nor am I making be guess what I'm trying to say. It's just a personal preference for myself!!!

I love Ameri. I really do. she is a very interesting and funny character. I loved her developpement.

But i wonder if her relation with Iruma is really heathly.

I have the impression that she force things. Because he barely realize that it's date things. He blushes when she hugs him but that doesn't especially mean that he's in love with her, more that he confused by his feelings. A girl that he likes hugged him after have danced with him, of course he's confused.

She panicks for the most little thing, lie when Gyari says "i'm going to marry both kuromu and you", she is like "it's not truth, iruma, right?" like...why do you ask girl? that's obvious that that's not real. Gyari is flirting with girls since the beginning of the festival :/

She is jealous of Chima. It's kinda...bad to be jealous of a child. Chima is clearly younger than 14. She was also jealous of Azz and Clara.

She acts a little like if Iruma was already her boyfriend...i think that it's kinda unfair to invite Iruma at what is clearly a DATE while hiding from him that that's a date. when she invites him to the restaurant, she ask the waiter to not tell Iruma the meaning of a thing who seems be a couple thing. From Iruma's side, he thinks that she just invited him to eat delicious food.

And if the spoilers of chapter 285 are true (the chapter was in chinese so i didn't understand), she kinda force him to come with her to the deviculum, without asking if he can or if he has already something planned. Especially that she knows that he can't say no. Iruma was like :O and has not really answered. Meaning that he still confused about his feelings and all.

Again, I love Ameri, but i have the feeling that she take a little too much advantage of Iruma's inability to say no and that she forces her feelings on him. Especially that I think that, with all the traumas that he has, he's not ready for that. of course she doesn't know about all his trauma but i really think that iruma shouldn't feel pressured.

Also i have a very bad feeling about this deviculum anyway :/

I actually didn't like ameri. How she acted around iruma made me cringe so much

until someone has kindly pointed out to me that this is her first time having a crush on someone!

I was like of course! That's why she blushes and stutters and doesnt act like the confident ambitious ameri she is.

She doesn’t know what to do with these feelings! She doesn't know how to act around someone she likes! And her only source of information is a shoujo manga!

hey, a qna 285 follow-up. I looked through the mbti type links you posted and omfg, emmy is really most likely to be INFJ ☠️ like no wonder i cannot relate to her decisions lmfao! I said this because i'm an INTJ and as soon as i can relate to her perceiving her surroundings, she does something weird that caught me off guard like huhhhh? But im not mad at her yk, she just surprised me that's all. No because unsurprisingly, as an INTJ, i can understand where she came from, but her actions, words and thoughts are always so?? 🤣🫣 But not in a i-disagree-and-hate-this-character way but in a, ok-youre-kinda-relatable-but-why-did-you-choose-decision-a-instead-of-b-thats-not-rational, because just when i thought she should do rational a decision, she did b. EMORY's character always left me confused but surprisingly i understood her decisions and wasn't mad at her at all? Ngl, i wished she bullied Will more so that she can actually lived up to his pointy-finger claims and allegations 🙄 because will is so?? Lmao, he wouldn't have survived ME that's for sure. HAHAHAHAHAHA IDK! 

As an INTJ, how i can relate or not relate to her is: i feel like emmy's almost there, but not quite in her decisions as compared to what i would actually do irl! Interesting enough i have a friend in real life who's also an INFJ, and another one who's ENFJ, and guess what KO, they're all so similar!!! Omg!!!! Hahahahaah, cute! Another two of my friends are INFPs, another one was ENFP, and only one is ISTJ, and ngl, this T type is really strict ☠️ and we only got along after a lot of dumb petty fights and heart to heart sessions, but even then we're still very stubborn. She's my most reliable friend though so theres that. Do i just attract a certain MBTI or Cognitive Funtion types or something because whaaaat? 5 N-F friends is crazy! No because if they try to confront me, theyre the ones who'll run away first and cry? Like, what? LMFAO! Thats why i said, Emmy's understandably weird, and cute. Very compassionate, helpful, sincere, and kind too. Similar to my healthy N-F-J friends. Oh, and they're very persuasive, bossy and moody alright. When theyre happy, everyone's happy, when theyre sad, oof the whole room can feel that. Whew! Only, idgaf, i wasnt always affected by that. Wow, maybe their type is just like that in general, huh? Now i'm interested to know what people of their type think of me ngl. What about you KO, can you relate to Emmy or any DN characters in any way? Idk if you've disclosed this before, and if you don't mind me asking, what's your MBTI type?

Another interesting thought, as an INTJ, reading about a possible INFJ, Emory, her pov actually didnt make me feel like she put me through a wringer as much, but then maybe because i'm also almost similar to her? Intense, thats what we are. And very unyielding. Our perceiving functions, Ni and Se are the same, but our deciding functions that decide the way we make decisions are very different, hers being Fe and Ti, while mine being Te and Fi, hence why i can understand the things that she went through, i just cant relate to her actions in general, but still find her caharcter fascinating and amusing to read about. And my friends in life are also pretty intense and the insightful type? So Idk, i get this a lot so maybe because it's our kind of normal, thats why nightfall was quite a breeze read to me. I knew of people who read nightfall and cried themselves to tears, but icant lie, i never experienced that. Onky through booktok and booktwt that i knew how many of them reacted very strongly to this book. Interesting! This made me wonder, what were the readers of nightfall's cognitive functions or MBTIs' to be having them reacting the way they reacted with the text. 

When readers say they felt then cried so much for Emmy, i was shocked, and even more shock when they said they felt more sorry for will, because i wasnt sorry for him, almost, at ALL. Sure, i can see what emmy went through, but i don't have that strong emorions as others, my reactions were pretty similar to Emmy, especially when she doesnt look like she was feeling much even though her brain and heart was processing or going through a lot? Again, Similar, yet so different. Other than that, I thought what happened to Will was less sympathetic or empathetic to me because they are usually, 1. Consequences of his own bad decisions, and 2. Because he chose the wrong crowd to be around. It always lead back to him at some point, but he never seem to acknowledge that until noghtfall. But then that was the reason he liked emmy so much, and it couldnt be anyone else. Idk, if i was Will, no matter what background or how privileged i have or was, cognitively, i dont think i would ever feel as comfortable as him to be putting blame on everyone and everything about my life without admitting my wrongs. 

but then my INTJ type is also known for that; Being Accountable and responsible for my own stuff, but i do lack sensitivity when it comes to things like this, so maybe that's why i never bought Will's bullshit, because what he said he did didnt match up with what he actually did. I'm sure his brothers grew up happy too, but they were never labelled as coddled or spoiled or irresponsible so there's only so mich of wealth and privilege that he can hide behind before it shows his true personality that he needed to fix. even though i can understand where he came from, i still dont agree with will most of the time. In fact, i dont like flaky people like him irl. Maybe thats why his character annoys me very much. Maybe my opinion is also an outlier because my personality type is not even a common type, hence my opnion can be unpopular. So many maybes! I said unpopular because As much as there's a lot of criticism about Will or even damon on your account KO (and even booktwt), we're actually the outlier, we're probably the only group who thought this way, because if you check goodreads and storygraph, there were more criticisms of Emmy than Will, and even Damon 🫠 

I heard when Nightfall was released, so many people were against Emmy in PD's FB group and goodreads, and they wished Will ended up with Alex, and at first i thought it was joke, but when i filter through Goodreads reviews to the oldest, wow, it's really true! And i was not only shocked, but was sad about it because she's my favourite FMC in the whole series! I noticed that Emmy had only been slowly gaining fans a year after her character was published, and after she got promoted positively on social media by other Emory fans and promotion of fan edits on booktok. This might be the first time i feel like social media did my fav char justice, LOL! i wished i was there in 2020-2021 PD's FB group so i can see all nightfall criticims unfold LIVE myself. So when PD said that maybe their fans (possibly they made a conclusion based on the response in their FB group) didnt like when they wrote characters like Emmy or Aro, i believe them because we're actually in the minorities unfortunately. Not pnly in minorities, it took time for the emory fans before us to put the work for others to hear about how amazing she was. And Sure, the ones who like emmy are very loud now, but if we do a poll, Winter and Rika then and even now are still in the #1 and #2 spots everywhere. Side note, Even stans on twitter believe that Will's only fault was he loved too much... like bad Will in corrupt, hideaway and kill switch didnt exist? idk, i thought this opinion of theirs on him was dumb, because it dismiss his characterisation of being more accountable and responsible in his present and future, as compared to his embarrasing past mistakes, but hey, it's a fan space, anybody can think whatever they want. I just dont have to agree and engage with them. 

anyway, coming back to me saying reading nightfall felt like a breeze, when all that shit happened in blackchurch, in the train and even afterwords, my face and feeling was like 😠😕😟😶🥰😶😶😶❓❔ not 🤢🤮🥰😘😍🥺😢😫😖😣🤯🤬😡😰😱😨🫣😓🤥🫠🫨🥱😪🤤😵😵‍💫🤐🤮🤢🥴😷🤒🤠👹👹👹💩💩🤡☠️ you know what i mean. My feelings were pretty tame actually. I guess i did feel a lot and intensely, but not as variant and reactively like other readers? Because i feel that was how my reaction was vs others. And i think i'm pretty level-headed too, because a lot of things that people hate or were mad about nightfall (and theyre valid things to be mad about), i'm mostly indifferent about them. To me, the past is the past, and even though there are some things i wished were not there in nightfall, ultimately, idgaf anymore, and the greater good is more important. People evolve, and because of emmy, she made me ship will with her, and my willemmy shipper heart would always root for their happiness and what they want, even though i believe will needed some kicks in his ass still. But if he said he would improve and if emmy already believed that he will be on that path, and that path is the best for them, i'm chill. 

And even if i did have a strong opinion before, i just believe what i want to believe now and have fun with the books and the fandom. Even if i dont participate, i like to observe fans interactions. The only thing that made me angry recently are usually PDs rsponse to the fandom, epecially to willemmy. I might have gone through some thinking about them too, but ultimately, my experience is my space, so, i either dgaf or care enough to respond to them or i'll ponder but then move on pretty quickly after. My stance made me feel like the experience of watching the interactions of this fandom so interesting because you all are such passionate people, and it reminds me of why i love being in a fandom and being a fan of literature. Might be because i'm an INTJ. I dont believe in MBTI and Cogn Fxs to a T but i can see even clearly now how it shaped how i consume and react to literature and what i like and dislike about them. Pretty fun and insightful! Ugghhh! I’m so happy at least one person checked them out and that I’m not completely off about Emmy. The most confusing thing for me going through the characters was that Kai and Emmy both came out as INFJs. Obviously every individual is going to present differently, and I do think both are different levels of unhealthy, but it still gave me a lot of pause. I might have to revisit Kai eventually (or hope someone who has read more on him and understand better will do it for me…).

Same. I loved her character from the start, but it took me a few read throughs, and seeing thoughts from others, to see the different layers of her character, and even wrap my head around some of her decisions. There are, of course, some things I will never understand or agree with from Emory, but I’m not expected to, so it’s no big deal.

I think I would have loved some more banter from them in the present; something that wasn’t layered in years of misunderstanding and secrets, that showed how they’re going to be together once all that is resolved. The little bit in the epilogue was a small sample, but I wanted a feast. But one of my main headcanons for Willemmy is that he cannot let his guard down around her, because the second she catches him slipping, there’s no holding back. Your friend group sounds really cute! In some ways, I can relate to Emory. I feel like we’re both people watchers/observers. I can sit for hours and watch people just live, or even when I’m out with my friends, after a while, I’ll sit back and just watch and listen, with not much to say. It’s not that I’m not interested in what’s going on, I just like…observing. The difference might be that I’m content doing that because I’m charmed by the life happening around me, while Emmy sometimes felt like she was missing out, and left on the outside looking in. Either way, we've both got some fly-on-the-wall tendancies.

At the same time, both Emmy and I get lost in our own thoughts and ideas. When I was searching for Emmy’s MBTI and read the first line for INFJ, for some reason Emmy during homecoming night came to mind; when her and Will are on the ride, and she has the idea for a tree of chandeliers. She’s got one night of freedom with a boy who she really likes and who really, really likes her…and she can’t help but think about future projects. Because that’s how inspiration works when you’re a creative person. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing, when it strikes, it consumes every thought. I can relate on that level. I felt so very seen in that scene. And I was especially swoony when she turned to tell Will her idea, and he was already looking at her, completely captivated by the look of wonderment and excitement at her idea that I imagine was on her face. That’s the dream. And it influences my willemmy greatly, because it tells me no matter what, Will is always going to support and be in awe of Emmy when she’s creating. Now that she’s got all the freedom to do that, it’s going to be a constant thing.

I believe I may have mentioned my MBTI type in the first MBTI post, but if I didn’t, I’m an INFP. However, all of my biggest influences in life have been TJs, so that does affect the way I go about doing things.

I mean… I wouldn’t make the same decisions as any of these characters. They and the situation they find themselves in are so over the top. That being said, even from a writer’s perspective, I would have taken the story and characters in different directions than PD. That might be one of the reasons I can’t bring myself to completely close the book on this, though. It’s so very different from what I would do, and sometimes it’s nice to be completely taken off the course you would naturally choose.

I knew of people who read nightfall and cried themselves to tears, but icant lie, i never experienced that. Onky through booktok and booktwt that i knew how many of them reacted very strongly to this book.

I get curious about people who had strong reactions as well. I assume it’s the moments of Emory’s abuse, but not to seem callous, they seemed very typical to me. I wasn’t ever overwhelmed with emotions reading any of the books. It’s not that I didn’t feel bad for what the characters were going through, because I did. I just… never needed to put the book down and process like I have with others.

i was Will, no matter what background or how privileged i have or was, cognitively, i dont think i would ever feel as comfortable as him to be putting blame on everyone and everything about my life without admitting my wrongs.

Will’s lack of accountability is definitely one of his main flaws throughout the series. It contrasts Kai’s crushing guilt over everything so well though. And I understand fully how people don’t feel sympathy for Will’s situation. He got himself there on his own. Even though Emmy signed that letter, he was long out of prison with a life set up for him that he nearly threw away just because he couldn’t not be Sad Boi #2 (of course, Damon gets first place because what else would we expect).

However, I loved high school Will and despite all common sense, will still feel for what happened to him, and those feelings have influenced my opinions on his story greatly. What can you do?

but i do lack sensitivity when it comes to things like this, so maybe that's why i never bought Will's bullshit, because what he said he did didnt match up with what he actually did. I'm sure his brothers grew up happy too, but they were never labelled as coddled or spoiled or irresponsible so there's only so mich of wealth and privilege that he can hide behind before it shows his true personality that he needed to fix.

It’s interesting that you bring up his brothers, because for me a big part of this series is that there’s something about this group people that doesn’t fit in with society as a whole, and that’s why they’re drawn together. The series speaks of the boys “finding” each other, as if they were searching for something they didn’t know they needed. I think Kai represents this the most because he tried so hard to hide it for so long. He also struggles with “its” existence, not because he doesn’t like it, but because he knows his parents won’t, and out of everyone, he respects them the most.

Anyway, all this is to say, Will’s brothers most likely don’t think or act like him. They don't hear the call of the void like he does. Unless my feelings about Thunder Bay are true, and there’s something in the water.

And while you may not be sensitive to some things, Will is, and it’s one of his main traits. Being sensitive also puts you at risk for getting hurt, which Will does frequently. Get hurt, I mean. But he still makes himself vulnerable, because that’s who he is. I think Will is aware that at some point, he can’t hide behind his privilege anymore. One of the reasons he went to Blackchurch – which was his idea from the start – was to put in the work where he’d only coasted before. Still, the whole thing was a mess after Emmy got there.

Maybe thats why his character annoys me very much. Maybe my opinion is also an outlier

Maybe out of the whole fandom, your opinion might be considered unpopular, but for those here, I think you’re right at home. More than a few have expressed the same thoughts. And isn’t that the point of fandom – to find people who will tolerate your wonky and out of the box opinions without trying to shame you?

Even though I sometimes act as though Will’s just a smol bean who never did anything wrong, I know he’s a highly flawed character with huge logical fallacies that annoy me to no end. Fangirling is a spectrum that I ride like a roller coaster.

As much as there's a lot of criticism about Will or even damon on your account KO (and even booktwt), we're actually the outlier, we're probably the only group who thought this way, because if you check goodreads and storygraph, there were more criticisms of Emmy than Will, and even Damon

I could not believe how much criticism was thrown at Emmy when I first read NF! And all of it because she was mean to Will? He was so nice blah, blah, blah, how could she not love him? Wah, wah, wah,

Helllllo? Did you not see what she was going through?

Did you not see the nine-year gap between them seeing each other; a gap neither did anything to close?

I just couldn’t process any of the Emory hatred. I’m better now. I don’t get it by any means. Let her be defensive; she’s earned her claws and fangs and anger. That’s for Will and Emmy to work out. He doesn’t need you, the reader, coming to his defenses. He still loves her because she’s so difficult -

*deep breath* But I’m better now. I was not at all surprised by how many people loved Will and Damon. And we all know why.

I heard when Nightfall was released, so many people were against Emmy in PD's FB group and goodreads, and they wished Will ended up with Alex, and at first i thought it was joke, but when i filter through Goodreads reviews to the oldest, wow, it's really true!

I saw the goodreads reviews, and thought I was going to be in the minority of Emmy lovers (hence my bio). But I’ve also heard the opposite – that there were a lot of people who hated it because PD included so much of Alex and not enough of Emmy. I think it’s probably split evenly. And then PD says it’s the fandom’s fault of putting the girls at odds with each other. Please just admit the story could have been written differently to avoid this, and we’ll all go home, I swear. PD doesn’t even have to say they would do it differently. I’ll be fine if they just admit that it’s not our fault there’s an Alex camp and an Emory camp, the two can’t cross enemy lines.

This is so funny because while I believe it’s true, but any time I do a poll here, Emmy is always the winner/in the winning group. It’s especially true when I was playing the voting game. It didn’t seem to matter what group Emmy was in, that’s the one people wanted to be in.

Even stans on twitter believe that Will's only fault was he loved too much... like bad Will in corrupt, hideaway and kill switch didnt exist? idk, i thought this opinion of theirs on him was dumb, because it dismiss his characterisation of being more accountable and responsible in his present and future

Very true. If Will accepts that he made mistakes that were not just “I loved her too much” then…that’s what happened?

He messed up. He’s not a perfect and wholly good, sweet little angel boy that did not wrong but care too much. It’s okay to admit that he was immature and careless and blinded by privilege and pride (I’m not going to touch on the criminal things because as readers, we’re supposed to find those things cool and hot, so…).

a lot of things that people hate or were mad about nightfall (and theyre valid things to be mad about), i'm mostly indifferent about them. To me, the past is the past, and even though there are some things i wished were not there in nightfall, ultimately, idgaf anymore, and the greater good is more important. People evolve, and because of emmy, she made me ship will with her, and my willemmy shipper heart would always root for their happiness and what they want, even though i believe will needed some kicks in his ass still. But if he said he would improve and if emmy already believed that he will be on that path, and that path is the best for them, i'm chill.

Just... this whole paragraph. I was mad about the lack of Emmy when I finished NF. And I have my moments now, of course, when I’m thinking about something specific and putting pieces together that I might get upset about a realization or something. Realizing a character did something out of line, or seeing yet another plot hole…

But this has never ruined my day. I’ve never been unable to move on or talk about something else with my friends. It’s just interesting to me.

Anyway, willemmy will always be happy to me. That’s just how it is. We can go back and forth over whether Will "deserves" it but I just don't really care if he "deserves" it or not. I'm happier this way.

i just believe what i want to believe now and have fun with the books and the fandom. Even if i dont participate, i like to observe fans interactions... because you all are such passionate people, and it reminds me of why i love being in a fandom and being a fan of literature.

This is it! This is the reason being in fandom is so interesting. It’s a hobby, and it should just be a fun time to sit and chat about things that don’t really matter with people who also like the same things. I mean, I know hobbies have different levels of intensity, but this really should just be chill.

I also think of MBTI as more of a party game than anything else. It’s fun to sit around and ask those questions and discuss your results. It doesn’t really mean anything more than that.

Platonic TR Boys Hug Ratings

Kazutora: 6/10. Very nice hugs, warm and tight, perfect height as well, but loses points because sometimes hugs can become tight to the point of suffocating, and he absolutely will not let go unless someone intervenes. Will not hesitate to hug you anytime and anywhere, especially when he gets jealous of the attention you were giving someone else, or receiving from strangers.

Baji: 8/10. Shy hugger, doesn't dare to ask for hugs from you or return your hugs in front of anyone else, because that's not what a big bad delinquent like himself does. Will freeze up if you try to hug him in public, face burning bright red. But when the two of you have some privacy, this baby boy's hugs has to be one of the best hugs out there - soft, gentle and warm. Will instantly let go if someone interrupts though.

Mikey: 2/10 Lazy, lazy boy. Any hug either turns into an impromptu cuddle session or a carry, because Mikey basically is ready to melt into your arms in a split second. Whenever this baby boy wants a hug from you, be ready for him to basically just drape himself all over you, demanding you give him a hug. Doesn't ever initiate, but will cling to you like a leech the moment he gets a hug from you. Will make you carry his full weight if he can latch on to you, will fall asleep in your arms standing straight up.

Draken: 10/10 Perfect hugs every time. Not afraid to dish out hugs anytime he feels like it or when he feels like you need one, but will not initiate in front of the Toman gang because he doesn't want the members to start to think he's soft. Unless its you who initiate - and then all of a sudden its not a problem anymore. Doesn't even question when you suddenly want one, just bundles you into a warm hug.

Mitsuya: 9/10 one of the best huggers around, had a ton of practice giving hugs to his little sisters. Just right tightness and always comfortable - can even detect when you need a hug, and dish one out on the spot. Doesn't matter where or when, will give you a full hug or even a side squeeze if you look even the smallest bit down. Loses a point because sometimes he forgets his sewing needles stuck in his jacket.

Pah: 5/10 Too impatient to stand still for long, so his hugs never quite last long enough for it to feel particularly comforting. Hugs also sometimes become tight enough to feel more like a squeeze instead of a wrap.

Hanma: -1/10. Doesn't bother with returning a proper hug most times, doesn't even pat your back. All this boy does would be give a lazy drawl about being clingy, even if he does enjoy the hug. Also too bony ouch, be careful if you're looking for someone to glomp, those sharp edges bound to hurt.

Izana: 3/10. Honestly Izana's hugs are great, warm, comfortable and long, even lets you snuggle your face into the crook of his neck (though he will demand payment for the favour), but loses a lot of points because this baby boy has zero social awareness or built-in danger sensor. Will demand a hug in the middle of a pedestrian crossing, will absolutely throw a tantrum if you don't give him his hug right there and then, and will proceed to make you stand there in his arms as long as he wants to.

Kakucho: 11/10. Not only does he make up for Izana's absolute lack of social awareness by picking up and moving the two of you off the road and somewhere safe while you are trapped in Izana's hug, he also will take the risk of facing Izana's wrath for giving you the hug you deserve in front of his boss whenever you look like you need one but Izana is too busy ignoring you during his bouts of jealousy.

Ran: 4/10 Great hugs, probably from all the practice he got when Rindo was younger. No shame in dragging you singe-handedly into a one-sided squeeze no matter the situation the two of you were in, even if it was right before he got into a fight. Would be higher if he stopped shoving your face into his armpit after returning your hug.

Rindo: 8/10 Nice, comfy hugs, knows where to put his arms when he hugs you so that you get just the right tightness, likes to rest his chin on the top of your head as well. Loses points cause he keeps making fun of you for the hug even though he was the one that initiated, will tease you even harder if it was you who hugged him first.

South: 7/10. Makes sure to watch his strength around you, so his hugs always feel like you're hugging a warm teddy bear. Though because of his physique, can be a bit too hard to snuggle, so loses points for that. Also loses points because South will pick you up, tuck you under one arm, and forget that you are there as he goes about his day because you weigh essentially nothing.

its a cold day in hell when Izana doesn't accompany you throughout the school day, insisting that you seat in his lap while he seats in your chair, or cuddling and having a nap in yours

your teachers and classmates have learnt to ignore him a long time ago

even rarer that you don't also find this white-haired boy already busy intimidating every last male schoolmate walking out your school gates while leaned against his motorbike

because you know he will make the special effort to come every day - despite knowing that you loved him as much as he did you, his ingrained trust issues were hard to shake

what if some shithead thought he could pick on you? unlikely, given he had the Black Dragons personally intimidate and threaten every last student in your cohort

but what if you fell and no one helped you? or what if someone else thought it was a good idea to make a move on what was his when he wasn't present?

plus you're not allowed to ride a motorcycle yourself, or anyone else's, and Izana doesn't trust the public transportation system as far as he could throw a bus

not gonna lie, this poor boy will probably go mad with the stress of not being able to see you everyday, and having to think about what you were doing without him there to watch over you

honestly didn't think much about it when he was first detained along with Ran since he had already seen you this morning at school

the realisation only started to dawn on him when it turned dark outside and Rindo found himself starting to get jittery, unable to sit still - now that he was trapped here, who was going to check in on you?

he would usually swing by your house twice every night - once before you fell asleep

And then a few hours later after he was done beating up the scum that inhabited his streets and your school, to make sure that you were actually in bed and sleeping, and that your main door was well locked (he can just shim your window open if he needed to after all)

Ran could practically see the gears turning inside the head of his younger brother as Rindo slowly pieced together his growing fears

If he was locked inside here, that meant that there was no one to accompany you at school, which equals no one around that could protect you, scare off potential bullies or worse (potential friends, he shudders at the thought)

plus, you weren't exactly the brightest of the bunch - Rindo was absolutely convinced that you would follow some stranger home just because they asked you to

or what if you ran across some delinquent scum that would take advantage of your kindness and naivety??

The absolute horror - Ran had to bascially whack Rindo in the back of his head and knock him out because this baby boy was on the verge of a breakdown and couldn't stop pacing around the brothers' shared cell

turns out, you really were as airheaded as Rindo had feared - you simply assumed that your bestfriend was not feeling too well and had decided to stay at home for the day, and you had gone about your day as usual

and you did this without first checking by calling him like he told you to, even though he had drilled this into your thick skull multiple times

he knew you didn't even try because you were surprised to learn that Rindo had been arrested when he could finally call two days later

which was the first thing Rindo did the moment he had access to a phone, much to Ran's amusement

you even had to ask him what juvie was

it wasn't the first time the two brothers spent time being locked up, but it was sure as hell the first time Rindo did after taking you under his wing

the older Haitani thought it was absolutely hilarious all the different shades of red Rindo was turning as he shouted at you through the phone, before quickly paling when he listened to what you had to say

took pity on his younger brother and stole the phone from him (which Rindo gladly handed over) so that he could properly explain to you the situation

Rindo insisted you come to juvie everyday despite only being able to meet you once a week, and of course you being you, obediently followed his instructions without a second thought

you quickly made friends among the guards, though they were nonetheless very confused at seeing you popping up everyday asking to see the same person again and again

but they always came out with either Ran or empty-handed

the times when Ran came out instead, you were still happy to chat with him, the older Haitani listening amused to you rambling on and on about school and life and the past day/week since you've spoke with Rindo

Am I Ugly?

A/N: some random thoughts, might not be fully coherent (edit: consider joining us on discord! we have cookies and a side of big brain ideas)

Another day, another after-school outing with your friends. The question of whether your friends thought you were pretty had begun its rent-free life as a random thought you had after your teacher had brought up the saying "Beauty is in the eye of its beholder". It wasn't something you had ever bothered about previously, but the quote somehow managed to hook itself into your brain, and you spent the rest of the day wondering about it.

Did your friends think you were ugly? They did still spent all this time with you, so it probably mattered not to them (and by extension, you), but the curiosity was eating you alive until it wasn't, and the thought was pushed to the back of your head for the rest of the school day. You trotting down the familiar stairs back home after your usual after-school shower to where they were waiting for you near your front door, only to have the thought suddenly rear up again as your friend asked if you were to go.

"Am I ugly?" Well depending on who you dropped that bomb on, the fallout and extent of damage control needed would vary greatly.

Izana would immediately assume that someone had dared utter such blasphemy to you, grabbing you by the arm and insisting you tell him where you had heard that. And when you fail to respond in a timely manner, caught off guard by his reaction, he instead snatches up his gang jacket that he had left draped over your sofas, marching straight for the door before he even put it on fully in an attempt to go and strangle whatever scum dared say something so foul against you - and you knew his first destination would be your school and your poor classmates, given you hadn't been anywhere else. You, of course, were being dragged along so you could point out to him whoever he needed to kill punish. This baby boy is fuming mad, and you better quickly intervene and explain yourself before he has a chance to pull out his phone because oh boy, this is going to get messy real quick. Someone is still going to land in hospital though, whether you know it or not - Izana needs to take his anger out somewhere.

Kazutora, on the other hand, would instantly go into a panic attack, thinking that he must have done something wrong, something that might have implied you were not the most beautiful person he had ever laid their eyes on. This poor baby boy bursts into tears and come running for your arms, trying to tell you that he thought you couldn't be further from the truth but it only comes out as blubbering and whimpering. You were a bit slow to bundle him into your arms like you always did, surprised by his reaction, but Kazutora only took it as a sign that you now hated him for whatever he did, which only makes the waterworks more dramatic as he begs you not to leave him while making a mess on your shirt. Your outing at this point would turn into a stay-in with lots of cuddles and ice-cream as you reassure your friend again and again that it was just a thought from a quote brought up in class, and that yes, you didn't hate him one bit.

Ran would just pause to stare at you for a bit, before burst out laughing at your question. You're a bit puzzled to say the least, but at least you get concerned when he starts doubling over in pain from laughing too hard. One of the few boys who absolutely knows what's up and what you were asking, this boy finds it hilarious that of all the things you could ask him, of all the questionable things your friends had been subjecting you to - it was this that you were the most curious about. Never going to give you a straight answer, instead be prepared for Ran to tease the ever-loving shit out of you for bringing up the question as you two left for your outing, only finally claiming to stop because of your cute pout and whining. Buys you ice cream so that you would stop faking being mad at him.

Mikey would take a moment to look you over with a critical eye, before he would give you his very honest answer with no filter - that he liked this look much better than your usual outfit, and that you should wear this more often. This poor boy probably thought that you were asking for his opinion, which you were to be fair, just not actually on your outfit but on generally what he thought of you. Only realizes that he might have done something wrong when you don't reply him immediately, before quickly (and poorly) trying to backtrack and say that he never thought you looked ugly. You, of course, just burst out into laughter with how innocent your friend really is, before having to stop and promise Mikey a taiyaki because of how hurt he was (or so he claimed at least).

Draken is probably one of those in the privilege group who can easily read your flow of thoughts and know what you were trying to ask - the question was probably just another one of those that you had to blurt out before you self-combust with curiosity. Smoothly tells you that you would always be a cute little bunny no matter what you wear or how old you were, only for you to pout and start insisting that you were strong like them, and that you were absolutely not a bunny. Cue this boy playfully rubbing his knuckles into the top of your head while you squeal. It was a mission accomplished for him - your train of thoughts had been redirected and you were distracted from questions that Draken didn't particularly want to answer on a chance that you thought he was lying (even if he would never).

Baji turns around so fast to blurt out a "Absolutely not!" that he got whiplash. You think he might have strained his neck with that speed since you even got a little jumpy, but obviously that didn't quite seem to bother him. This baby boy grabs your hands and starts blabbering right away but how pretty you looked no matter what you were wearing, his mind in turmoil trying to think of any possible reason why you could be feeling insecure around him, then finally realising what he was saying when you start chuckling and his face instantly flushes red. Don't tease him too much about what he said in his moment of panic because you know he meant it - Baji is just way too shy to admit it. Would still make sure to hint at how pretty you were to him throughout the outing and the rest of the day though.

Hanma would throw one arm around you, tattooed hand pinching one cheek as he bend down to meet your face, asking if you rather he answer yes or no, all the while with his signature sly smile plastered across his face. Similar to Ran and Draken, this boy knows what's turning in your head, deduced that rather than insecurity or bullying, it was probably just something brought up in your classes earlier that day. The question he threw back made you stumble a little, before you realized what he was doing and started whining that he was dodging your very legit question. Hanma would just brush off your accusations and start walking, making off comments about killing to get some karaage now while you hurry to catch up, your thoughts instantly turning to food when he brings up that new store that had just opened down the street.

Reader will spend a fortune on hair ties. Baji stops bringing his rubber bands and asks for them from the Reader. Mikey suddenly starts to lose it. Draken pretends that he did not have time to braid at home and does it next to the kira in order to borrow her rubber band. Some boys, who rarely collect their hair, suddenly start doing it more often in front of Reader (*cough* Chifuyu *cough*). "Oh, is that a scrunchie on your arm? Give me please. Mine is torn." It all started when you offered your hair tie to Baji - you probably shouldn't have offered your spare to anyone to begin with, no matter how miserable Baji looked with his hair down in the middle of summer, whining and complaining about how the only hair tie he had on him broke. Doesn't matter when you pass your hair tie to him, whether if it was just you and him, or you were in the midst of your whole group of Toman friends, the moment that band changes hands, everyone knows about it and that's all it takes to cement the idea in your friends' minds. The game begins.

Begins as just Baji, then Mikey, asking to 'borrow' your hair tie, either using the excuse that theirs had snapped or they had lost it, but Kazutora and Draken quickly catch on to what the other two are doing. And sure enough, the two of them start getting in on the game as well. Draken complaining that his hair tie broke again so could he pretty please have yours, and Kazutora, to your surprise, starting to tie his hair up as well. Mitsuya and Pah are sadly left out because neither have hair long enough to tie, but that doesn't mean they are below swiping those scrunchies from the others. But the game was taken to the next level when Kazutora one day decided to ask if you could help him with his short ponytail (since he didn't have much experience tying up his hair, but insists that its too hot not to do so) after borrowing yet another hair tie from you, and now everyone comes whining asking for you to do their as well.

Mikey coming straight with his bedhead so that you can brush his hair for him as well, Draken snatching you up from your seat while class goes on around you so that you can braid his hair just the way he like it, Baji tugging at your sleeve and refusing to let go until you put his hair up in a ponytail for him. The most prized hair tie is of course the one that you are currently wearing, so the boys are definitely playing a game of chicken, trying to goat one of the others into being the first to borrow your hair tie so that they get the spare, and then quickly being next in line to get your generously offered scrunchie straight off of your hair.

And mind you, it doesn't matter if the hair ties or scrunchies you lent them were pink, frilly, covered with Hello Kitties. Nope, the boys wear those as a badge of honor, since the other Toman founders, and the boys from the other gangs recognize them - even start to subtly flex their collection. Begins by wearing one spare on their wrist, then two, then hanging them secretly off their bags, or on their pants hoops especially if they were going into a fight. And no doubt the Black Dragon and Tenjiku boys get jealous - how could they not having to see Toman with collections of your stuff?

Your scrunchies become almost like a currency, with everyone looking to swipe some of your precious hair ties for themselves. Ran and Rindo found they had the best luck with obtaining some by simply asking you for them, which you were more than happy to "lend" them should they manage to catch you alone without your Toman guard dogs. Izana personally preferred relieving Mikey of his collection, though this usually ends in a fight. This boy didn't mind helping himself either, simply pulling off the scrunchie you were wearing and insisting that you helped him put it on his wrist, much to your amusement. Koko and Inupi earned theirs through a combination of wit and nimble fingers, proudly showing them off against their white uniforms.

You of course had no idea that all this was going on under the surface, only becoming slightly sad at the number of hair ties and scrunchies that were going missing, and at the disastrous amount of money you were spending on replacing them. Never once angry at your friends for not returning them, since you didn't doubt that they would return them eventually, and they must really need those hair ties.

The scrunchie war would rumble on until Baji one day absentmindedly returned the spare scrunchie he had on his wrist to you, realizing what he had done a moment later and having a mental panic, yet only to have you immediately brighten and thank him enthusiastically, lavishing your attention on a now very smug boy while the rest could only watched on jealously. And now the reverse game would start - paying you for your attention in returned scrunchies and hair ties.

In 1620, at the age of 22 Gian Lorenzo Bernini was asked to make a mattress for the Hermaphrodite. He was paid sixty scudi for making the buttoned mattress upon which the Hermaphrodite reclines, so strikingly realistic that visitors are inclined to give it a testing prod.

Around the world there are about twenty copies of Hermafrodite but only one is Bernini’s mattress and it’s at the Louvre.

According to the Roman poet, Ovid's Metamorphoses (4:285 - 288), Hermaphroditus was the son of Hermes and Aphrodite who refused the advances of one of Diana's nymphs, Salmacis. But the gods then answered her prayer that their bodies could be joined into one. The marble Hermaphrodite, lying on side with arms above the head, was unearthed near the Baths of Diocletian in Rome in about 1608. It was believed to be a Roman copy of a bronze mid-second century BC original by Polycles. It was presented to Cardinal Scipione Borghese who commissioned Bernini to restore it and make for it the marble mattress. It became one of the most admired statues in the Borghese Collection and was commonly reproduced in bronze and on a reduced scale in marble. In 1807 it was purchased with the bulk of the Borghese Collection by Napoleon and is now in the Louvre.

was rereading your Izuku meta post, and was reminded of something. Repressing emotion is often like a ship taking on water. Once you let a little bit of repressed emotion escape, the rest of your emotions start to slowly escape, faster and faster as time goes on. This may just be my bias, but this seems to be happening to Izuku. He let a little bit of repressed anger seep through, and increasingly he's struggled to rein his emotions back in. I can't help but feel like we're heading for a moment where his emotions finally come loose in their entirety. I couldn't help but wonder how that would change his character though. For bakugo, once they had that fight his personality began to change. When Katsuki saved Izuku in 285, it paralleled the start of the series where Izuku saved Katsuki. Katsuki pushed Izuku away, only facing him again after the fight. Izuku is currently pushing Katsuki away due to his sacrifice, trying to deal with his problems alone. But it's not working. So, I have to wonder: Katsuki changed slowly after being confronted about his behavior. How do you think Izuku's behavior might change? He's been like this the entire series, and with each season the story has gotten more vocal about calling out his bullshit.

I think if we’re gonna answer how Izuku’s behavior might change, we have to think about how allmights behavior already changed.

So, when allmight lost one of the most fundamental parts of his identity (his quirk) what did he do? Well he did everything in his power to feel useful again.

But, this mindset changed when two things happened: allmight talked to aizawa about yknow, feeling useless, and then again when he talked to stain.

Stain and aizawa were the key reasons in how allmight managed to help himself. There’s this message that the story is constantly trying to push, and that’s if you want to save someone, they have to want to be saved. The same thing goes for mental health; in order for someone to get better, they have to WANT to get better. Oftentimes when people don’t get help, they usually resort to “romanticizing your sadness”. The feeling that, to be happy isn’t normal, and that you should stay sad forever because it’s what you’re used to. The change itself is the fear.

But just like every other human emotion, it changes moment to moment. You are never truly sad forever just like you are never HAPPY forever. It’s just how life works. When you ask the question, “would you be happy forever” most people would say no. Now there’s nothing wrong with this opinion, I have it too, but the REASON we have this opinion is because to feel happy you have to feel sadness. That’s just how our emotions work. A drug that makes you happy constantly exists, and it’s called literally any addiction ever. It’s unhealthy for us BECAUSE of the trade off between intelligence and blissful ignorance. That’s not me being edgy, that’s just a fact. Intelligence in animals generally makes you a less happy animal.

Why am I talking about this? Well, for Izuku to be happy, for him to not have all of this repressed anger, he has to release it. But he’s SCARED of that outcome, scared of both what that anger will look like and also what comes after.

His repressed emotions aren’t just anger, it’s love, sadness, depression, and even happiness and fulfillment on the other side, but he’s scared of what being healthy will be like.

And I feel like addressing WHY I think he’s scared is super important too. It’s partly due to his conscious act of repressing everything he feels, and also partly due to simple parallels.

Allmight and Katsuki have frequently repressed emotions and have gotten through and dealt with it. For allmight it was an expectation he had for himself and also from the world that he has to be perfect. (And btw, Izuku sets the bar higher than allmight, as he thinks that he should be the idolized version of allmight in his head, instead of the real allmight or even just, yknow, his best) In a way Izuku is kind of following his predecessors damaging way of repressed emotions, even if allmight has worked past that.

For Katsuki, it was about feeling anger over every other emotion in order to not feel vulnerability. Katsuki was also AFRAID of what vulnerability looked like, just as all might was afraid of what honesty looked like for his idolized version.

Izuku experiences both of these. An idolized version of what he should be, making him repress emotions and push the people that cause him his outbursts, (allmight) and also resort to repressed anger when in a situation of vulnerability. (Katsuki)

If Izuku changes these things, he doesn’t know who he will be anymore. Just as all might didn’t know who he was without his idolization, and Katsuki without his immediate anger.

As for his conscious repressing of emotions, that’s the bullying, his worrying mom, and allmight’s fault. He doesn’t want to upset anyone, and I also feel like if he acknowledges how Katsuki hurt him mentally, he thinks it will only end up hurting Katsuki. Let the guilt itself eat him alive; so Izuku stays silent and doesn’t talk to a single soul about how the isolation felt.

He definitely WILL have an outburst at some point, and that’s the scary part. The fact that mid battle, Katsuki is gonna be the only one able to break his spell. Make him accept his love of Katsuki, and possibly make him realize his love too.

Love is an amazingly complicated emotion, especially since it’s not actually an emotion. I’ll probably talk about how love works at some point, (and how some of you kids who follow this account need to learn what love actually IS) just because of how interesting and complicated it is. Human love is so weird and I ADORE talking about it.

I think he’s gonna change in the way that he will outwardly show his emotions. One, ofc, accepting his love of Katsuki and loving Katsuki (or uraraka ig if horikoshi wants to be a bad writer hsudbfkd) two, being angry in a context outside of an emotional situation or battle, and three, god he’ll finally be his own person.

Like the imitation of Katsuki and allmight is cute, yes, but just as URARAKA imitating Izuku was unhealthy and she became her own hero, he will do the same. Outside of Katsuki the person, dynamite the hero, or allmight the sensei, Izuku will be himself. His own hero, his own person; he will be, Deku the human hero. The hero not afraid to show their flaws, just like uravity, the hero for other heroes and the face of 1A, just like Dynamite, the hero not afraid to be himself.

They will ALL represent different things for the public. But win to save and save to win? That’s their thing.

“You’re shitting me.”

Wooyoung rolled his eyes and pushed the bag into your face, eyebrows raising when you snatched it from him.

“Nope.”

You held the bag up in surprise, trying to contain your smile as you side eyed the male.

“You’re literally fucking with me!”

Wooyoung chuckled and sat down next to you on the sofa, pushing a few strands out of his eyes as he smirked at you.

“In a way yes, but actually no.”

Hitting him on the shoulder, you ignored Wooyoung’s dramatic ‘ow’ and opening the bag slowly. When you saw the box sitting inside, you quickly shut the bag with a smile.

“Wooyoung, you didn’t!”

Done with your behaviour Wooyoung pulled the box out of the the bag, taking off the lid and showing you the phone.

“I did you idiot!”

Squealing you jumped the poor boy, hugging him close while he fell back onto the sofa, kissing his face repeatedly while Wooyoung struggled under you. His Elmo laugh sounded clearly through the room as you grabbed his face to hold him in place and smother him in even more love. Eventually when you pulled back to breath a little, Wooyoung’s screams quietened as his chest heaved. You hit his chest with no malice behind it, once again earning an ‘ow’ from the melodramatic man.

“I thought you were joking!”

“Yeah, well evidently not. Can you put that phone on the table before you break it?!”

Giggling you did as Wooyoung asked, putting your hands in the air as a sign of peace.

“God, you sounded like a mini-Seonghwa.”

Wooyoung side-eyed you at this, hands now raised and ready to tickle.

“If you wanna fight, Y/F/N, we can fuckin’ fight.”
