We know that Lake hasn't been out of the mirror world for long, and as I've explained in older posts, their anatomy is different than a regular reflection or a flec.

"Wow, do you have special metal strength?"

"No, I just don't feel pain like you, with your squishy flesh."

So they make this statement early on, which, if you pay attention, just isn't true.

Lake easily picks Jesse up in the next episode. As well as picking up Mace, which is an accomplishment when you consider how much of the flecs is actually metal.

They also punch through a metal pod and crush a porter with their bare hands. All evidence points to the fact that Lake does have super metal strength.

So why bother claiming that they don't?

For the same reason that Lake walks straight into the water during The Map Car.

They don't realize that swimming and floating are things they can no longer do now that they aren't reflecting someone else.

Lake's only reference is the few weeks they've been out of the mirror world, as well as their time as a reflection. That's not a lot when the rules of the world shift around you.

They know they don't feel pain the same way, but they likely hadn't been in a situation yet/hadn't noticed that they do have super strength.

"How does that work?"

"I dunno, it's like- ugh. I-I dunno!"

Once we get to the Lucky Cat Car, Lake is comfortable enough with Jesse to admit that they don't understand how they work. They don't have all the answers, and it's just as confusing to them as it is to him.

The primary function is to manifest feline characteristics and transform into a cat.

His ability causes him a lot of trouble.

He has something called ability incompatibility, which means he struggles with control over his ability, and he retains cat like characteristics even in human form. (Most of those who survived the experiments (Kyloz and Scorcha) have this as well)

Aspect hates his ability and doesn't like transforming because he fears getting stuck in his feline form permanently.

The breed of cat he turns into is akin to a Main Coon. Not exactly tiny but very fluffy.

Mental Health Issues: General Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, PTSD, low self esteem, ability disdain (holds negative feelings towards his ability and what it has caused him to experience/feel in his life.)

Scars/Injuries: Subconsciously picks at his nails until they bleed, was unwillingly tattooed on his limbs to signify he was an experiment subject.

Likes: Morizon. He calls her Mori. Snack bars, especially chocolate covered one’s they’re his favourite. Tv shows - he likes the experience called ‘escapism’.

Fears: His abilities incompatibly and using it. Fears he will lose his human form. Mori dying.

Kill Count: Unknown (Being an Announcer for the Death Games he had a hand in putting people in situations that led to their death)

Brief Backstory – He was a part of an experiment, a scientist known as Meijiri was running, in which they were trying to link Animal and Human souls together – in order to create a new artificial abilities that could be used as weapons. Aspect was one of the children in these experiments. The test subjects were treated like animals and lived in cages.

He was extremely scrawny back then because he didn’t eat and he would do anything but go near other people. The others in the experiment – Scorcha (bird girl) - used to give him some of her food when she could. She was like an older sister to him. Aspect was the youngest out of the survivors.

When the experiment facility got raided by Circuit to rescue the test subjects Aspect got taken away by an Organisation member named Eleon and was sought to be a good replacement for the Announcer of the Death Games. Aspect was then subjected to harsh training (abuse) by Novax (Morizon’s father and the previous announcer of the games) who hammered into him how to present everything perfectly.

He meets Morizon when he was 11 and he grows a strong liking to her because she treats him like a person rather than an animal. They are good friends by the start of ‘Death Be to Me’. Yet Morizon is unaware of her fathers true nature and Aspect is too scared to say anything.

Extra Info:

The previous Death Game Announcer wore a mask of a Rabbit.

Whenever Aspect puts the mask on he's in character - acting entirely different from what he actually is like. It helps him separate being the Announcer from himself.

Aspect stumbles over his words a lot if he's in front of a physical person, especially if he's nervous.

He likes sleep but finds it hard to actually fall asleep. He usually stays up and watches anime until he conks out. He's rewatched a certain series at least seven times.

He melts if somebody plays with his hair

He can talk in his cat form

He has a small nose but has an excellent sense of smell and hearing.

His ears work the same as a cat's do, they swivel and flatten etc. He DOES NOT have human ears under his hair, which is another reason why he wears it down.

He only has one eye, that being his right one, he was born without the other due to a disfigurement caused by the experiments.

He covers the left side of his face with his hair to hide the empty socket. But as he ages and gets more comfortable in himself he stops hiding it so extensively.

He can be extremely standoffish with people he doesn't know or trust.

Aspect was his nickname in the experiments. Kyloz's nickname was fury. Scorcha's was feathers.

He started announcing the games at the age of 12. It became a novelty that a child was in charge of something so gruesome. THE CAT is a fan favourite by the general public. Yet they are unaware of what he actually looks like.

Noteably women find his voice attractive. There is a fanclub much to Aspects chagrin. He stays far away from that.

He hardly goes outside.

Probably legitimately has a vitamin D deficiency.

He wants to marry Morizon but hasn't even had the courage to confess his feelings. Poor guy.

It's not unrequited though. Morizon's just as inexperienced as him and has no clue how to approach it.

as of now they haven't revealed how he sounds in the gacha yet but i'm crossing my fingers he has someone like. along the lines of greg chun or similar in terms of deep but soft spoken voice
