Understanding Write-Offs and Write-Ons: What They Are and Why They Matter
In the world of finance and accounting, a lot of terms sound more intimidating than they actually are. “Write-off” and “write-on” are two of those phrases that tend to confuse people at first glance, but once you break them down, they’re pretty straightforward. They’re important tools for managing the accuracy of financial records, and they come into play more often than most business owners or…

You might have missed this yesterday but out of nowhere Tulsi Gabbard released an unhinged video. In it she warns of a nuclear Holocaust and implies that elitists backing Ukraine against Russia would be the ones to blame. The video has animation of a graphic nature. It’s the type of video the RNC and NRA would make about Hillary’s America or Obama’s policies.
Gabbard’s post drew derision from the mainstream media, many of whom claimed it was Russian propaganda. Gabbard, our Director of National Intelligence was widely criticized as a Russian for the past several years and many objected to her being installed in her current post.

You ever enter a world where everyone unconditionally hates you solely on the basis of how you look so you become unreasonably attached to the only person to ever show you any understanding? Even if that person is the source of dread and oppression to many?
Yeah. Yeah.

I wonder how many in the Cult of Trump even know that Putin was an officer in the KGB? Or, that this communist Soviet Union's foreign intelligence and security agency had an actual documented process for how to destroy a democracy from within? How was this accomplished? Just look around, you are living it right now. https://unintendedconsequenc.es/bezmenovs-steps/

Okay! This one is less rendered than the other two, but here's some doodles of Tulpa figuring out how to co-exist! (Aka Fresh not taking training seriously while Dream is trying desperately to get his friends to think he's normal.)
When Dream first returns to the Star Sans', he finds himself in a pickle, because he needs Fresh to move his body. Sure, they made a tentative agreement that Dream trusted Fresh not to break, but Dream hadn't been specific enough with the guidelines.
Fresh pilots Dream's body based on the commands from his soul, but more often than not Fresh simply decides not to listen. Sometimes when they're training, Fresh will suddenly make Dream fumble his bow or send an arrow flying way off-target. Dream is always frustrated by this, unaware that Fresh it doing it for his own good and is forcing the guardian to take a break.
Blue was also made aware of Fresh very early on. One day he was passing the kitchen where Dream was cooking and spotted how Fresh's little form was wiggling out of the hole on Dream's skull. Blue made Eye-contact with Fresh, but said nothing since it seemed like Dream was aware and didn't mind. He waited until Dream told him to acknowledge the parasite directly, but suddenly a bunch of Dream's weird actions made sense to him. Blue regularly makes sure to check in on Dream, before abd after he's aware of Fresh, because he knows Dream works himself into the ground.
Dream (eventually) figures out that Fresh was being clumsy for his sake and nearly cries about it (even his mother and the villagers never did that for him, and Blue was the only other person to ever pull him away from training for his own good) so he gets a bit emotional. He feels bad for how angry he used to get at Fresh for doing that, but Fresh never gave him a proper explanation either, so it was a two-way street.
And while Fresh was lienent around Blue and Ink, he never slipped up around Nightmare's gang. Though, he did fight seriously, which to him might look like goofing off, which is completely separate from Dream's fighting style. (For now Dream uses Arrows and his Bow, but I'm thinking Tulpa has a T-Shirt Canon or a Nerf Gun by the time they make-up.)
Ideally Fresh cannot be seen during combat because he actually pilots from around Dream's soul, but sometimes his parasite form expands to support Dream's weak joints and act like a shock-absorber.

I will say one thing for Trump's expansionist comments about Greenland -- never in my life have I seen Danish media cover an election in Greenland like this
Let's see if it lasts after the election, but thus far, Danish media has been covering news from Greenland massively more than it did before

I think u can’t really claim brax likes romana romantically without also acknowledging it’s teacher/student
#which is fine it’s alright. but like. It’s inherently creepy and Not wholesome like brax’s daydream in 4.1#Personally I think brax still wanted to manipulate romana but less as a personal lust thing and more that he need to groom her into a good#president for the future of Gallifrey#like brax is a groomer regardless but I prefer to think of him as a selfless one (?) that thinks about the grand plan far more than#Interpersonal desires if he has any#I think that’s the tragic part about them in my eyes. That Brax manipulated romana all of her life and he doesn’t even care about her beyon#her political value#which is kinda the opposite of how brax feels about Benny#like fuck all politics I’ll give up Gallifrey for you to be alive at the end. He also genuinely appreciates her as a person#But in both of these relationships he never once given himself a value more than a pawn too. He can give up himself for romana to lead#Gallifrey and he can also give up himself for Benny to live#He is the most expendable of his own pawns#And that’s why I get so mad whenever people genuinely believe that he cares about self preservation beyond the tactical value of his life i#his plans. Like brax. Whose first instinct was to infinitely slaughter himself to buy time to think up a plan to save the collection in#something changed. Would actually care about self preservation. It’s so laughable that people actually believed this facade#irving braxiatel#bernice summerfield#gallifrey audios#ivq listens to bf#but again with romana. How brax personally thinks of romana would always weigh less than her tactical value as a political asset in his eye#which is sad because romana genuinely trusted him#it’s just on Gallifrey he’s a politician before he’s a friend to anyone

Cincinnati can do this right? Like this is not a case of "oh man we can really only afford to pay one of these guys." Like if they want to keep three of these guys in the building, it's expensive, but they can do that?
Yes, they could do it. I mean everyone brings up the fact that they are cash poor compared to other teams. But every team has ways of structuring contracts. The Bengals are very unique where they only usually guarantee the first year, they give you very large signing bonuses. They did change that precedent a little bit with Joe Burrow. But if they wanna do this, they could do it. And I think they should realize, and I think Joe Burrow has put that pressure on them to realize that, we're in a situation right now where we have good players and we could compete and we're letting good players out of the building. And we cannot let this happen. They've changed their business fashion over here over the last couple years where they've changed the naming right and they've built a new locker room and they've done different things to get better. The one thing they haven't changed yet is the way they handle contracts. So if they're willing to change the structures where they're willing to spread out the guarantees a little more instead of doing this one big lump sum payment. They could definitely make it happen and make it a little bit easier instead of having this problem with the cash every single year and giving it out in year one so heavy and not doing the rest of the years.
So there's ways of doing this and if they're willing to break precedent, it could become even easier. But every team is able to do it. I mean, Joe Burrow brought up the Eagles example. That is a very extreme one, but they should at least be able to get to the middle point of where the NFL is when it comes to their cash spending and the way they're able to handle the salary cap and restructure contracts. Like they don't do it that much, and if they're willing to do it, they'd be able to get all these guys under contract and make it happen. So, we'll see if they change it. I know that the pressure has gotten to them. The Joe Burrow stuff...Joe Burrow's a very private guy, the fact that he's willing to go out there and become public...and like he doesn't need to go to Media Row and be sponsored by Fedex. He has enough money. He's doing it because he wants to get the message across publicly. So, he's been doing it just to get the message across and I think it's gotten across. But now it's time to actually get these deals done and we'll see if they do.

From Motorsport-Total.com:
Peter Bayer confirms that the team will not be directly named after a title sponsor:
"The identity is what Toro Rosso would have been, and it will be closer to the Red Bull family again," he reveals. "But then it will appear with the partners of the naming rights."
(So it is more likely the team will most probably be named xx sponsor Racing Bulls)
Daniel and his popularity in the US were instrumental in attracting the new sponsors:
There are apparently two major sponsors who are keen to work together and have already reached an agreement
According to Bayer, the awareness of the team in the USA, which was significantly promoted by the presence of Drive-to-Survive star Daniel Ricciardo, played an important role in gaining new supporters.
"We are on the right track," he says. "And because we are so well received in the USA, we have found these two companies that like each other. We had a very, very good meeting with these two great new partners. They got along really well. They worked together immediately."
[…] "They brainstormed so much that I got really scared! You have very big ideas. They think big, bigger than we probably would have dared to think."

apologies for being bitter but everyone acting as though trump is going save tiktok is grossly misinformed on the facts of the matter; this is not something he has the capacity to do and the best case scenario is he shifts the ban to april instead of today. it just drives me crazy.
A brief rundown to clarify:
The tiktok ban was passed as a law of congress. Congressional laws in the US can only be repealed by the legislature or overturned by the judiciary. The executive branch cannot unilaterally overturn a law, and even with all the dicatorial powers the corrupt supreme court has given trump, this seems unlilkely to change. And the judiciary has spoken and they're not doing anything.
The law as written provides for a 90 day delay if ByteDance has made significant steps to sell tiktok. This hasn't really happened but given it's at the president's discretion, this is the power Trump is going to invoke in a few days.
The executive branch does have the discretion to enforce laws selectively, and very often does. Practically speaking, this is what a majority of executive orders are, as the executive helming the bureaucracy of the federal government is able to select priorities or choose to not enforce certain laws. The most noteworthy expressions of this are selective federal policies on drug or immigration enforcement; pot is still a federally crime to grow and possess but recent administrations have chosen not to enforce this.
Pot is a good example here, because it shows the weaknesses of non-enforcement-- it is not a permanent solution and it creates incentives for nationwide companies (banks, insurances, landowners) to refuse to cooperate because non-enforcement can be overturned from one day to the next.
This puts platform holders, namely ByteDance, Oracle (who hosts tiktok), google, and apple in an untenable position. These are all massive multinationals; they are not going to tolerate this level of risk from Trump, a notorious flip flopper who hates protestors and youth movements when they're not in favor of him.
Imagine for a second the next 100 days. The new administration begins some of their massively unpopular activities like mass deportation and passing of an abortion ban, and this supposed groundswell of conservative youths who grew up on joe rogan and conservative influencers see the kids in cages, see families sobbing in the streets and protestors knocked back with tear gas or live fire. We've already seen how tiktok became massively important for the cause of gaza for some people, and it's impossible that a similar pattern won't unfold, and sour Trump on the platform.
ByteDance are not idiots, and they're not going to sell; not to Musk, not to Trump, Bezos, Kotick. They know that the majority of the american public supports tiktok either because it's transparently a sinophobic policy law which is a violation of free speech, or are nakedly self-interested in the continuation of a social media platform they like. The motivation is irrelevant because the end result is obvious.
Likewise, Congress are not going to shift on this law. Not only was it a bipartisan law with overwhelming majorities, but the majority of legislators in the modern era are sinophobic, don't understand social media, or both, and those votes don't seem likely to change.
So to sum. The platform holders can't tolerate a non-enforcement situation, at least not long term. They'll probably play nice with Trump for a while, but only until his mood sours. Congress won't budge because they have a comprehensive misunderstanding of social media, and CHINA BAD, and ByteDance won't budge out of motivated self interest. It's very similar to the Brexit negotiatons to me, where the outcome was obvious for years but the UK stuck its head in the sand and pretended a better outcome was coming from a position of no leverage.
The outcomes for tiktok are either sneaking a repeal of the law into some component of the upcoming trump bills, or some token sale to a holding company disconnected from big tech platforms with some percentage american investors but where bytedance retains all control. Any other outcome is intolerable to ByteDance, who wins by doing nothing and watching millions of people go from Trump is our savior to WHY IS IT STILL BANNED!!
