(re: authors marketing on booktok) I'm a debut author and it's in my contract that I have to use TikTok but I don't want to vapidly rely on tropes and one liners. Do you have any advice on how to connect readers with my book on a more substantial level? I'm completely at a loss for ideas :(

Goodness, I'm like the worst person to ask this. Tik tok and me... we have not become friends so far. I'm old, ok?

So all I can suggest to look at what other authors do. Let me give you some accounts as an example:

Look how they do it.

The thing is, you gotta be real. You can't pretend to be someone you're not and if you don't stand behind the things you say, it will show. So if you're uncomfortable with the trope listing, do it differently. Tik tok has its own culture, give them what they want but in a way that you're comfortable with it. Show them why you wrote your book. Show them your love for the story.

Fragrance breakdown of Greek gods and goddesses' magic!

poseidon - salt and sand and hot sun

aphrodite - sea salt and roses

persephone - top note of wildflowers (from demeter), lavender, vanilla, honey, sweet roses, wisteria

demeter - bittersweet wildflowers, bitter citrus and mint, musk, golden wheat and ripened fruit

hades - a tinge of winter air, spice, cloves, geraniums, wood, ash, smoke, pine,

apollo - wood, laurel and eucalyptus

We love some good vampire / mortal smut. HOWEVER Scarlett St. Clair ( @authorscarlettstclair )made me cry in EVERY BOOK OF HERS IVE READ! Which truly makes her a master author, in my opinion.

Highly recommend and cannot wait for the next one. Even if it’s far away ❤️

★ Single, dual, or multiple POVs? I’m currently listening to A Game of Fate by @authorscarlettstclair and date I say, I think I’m loving Hades’ POV even more than Persephone’s! 🙈 I’m enjoying a lot, and loving going back to the beginning of this story. I’m reading it in preparation for the release of the second book in the Hades Saga, A Game of Retribution, which releases on May 31st! Thank you *so much* to the folks at @read_bloom and @sourcebookscasa for sending this early copy my way! 🥹 As for my question, it all depends upon the story for me—but with romances I definitely want dual/multi POV.
