oh helll yes !!!!!! thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about films. i fucking love it. i’m choosing to interpret favourites as in ... comfort movies, films i’ve seen 1000000x, films i can rewatch over and over. they’re not necessarily what i think to be the best movies of all time, just movies that mean a lot to me, that i can quote by heart, etc. 

titanic: i hate to give james cameron rights but he wrote one HELL of a romance and i’ll fight anyone who complains its insta-love or not meaningful when they have such an incredible connection and its SO well written. always in my heart @ rose dawson fav female character ever!! 

1917: i don’t want to talk about it but that’s emotional support wwi movie sir !!! my man george mackay did ALL OF THAT for 2h and got snubbed at every award show.... and people complained it was like watching a video game??? that movie is packed with SO MUCH character detail in such subtle performances i am obsessed with it. william schofield is IT re: traumatized repressed protags. 

the social network: best divorce film of all time. fleabag voice: this is a love story. ahead of its time. visionary. andrew garfield DID that!

pride: found family !!!!! solidarity !!!!!!!!  gay joy !!!! this movie is just IT. like yeah it’s rough and sad at times but it’s just so fucking delightful and comforting. 

captain america: the winter soldier: character-driven action films are SO sexy !! fleabag voice: this is a love story. other mcu films wish. they fucking wish !!!! marvel never topped this and they never will. end of. 

the departed: ok me simping for scorsese is very much my ‘straight male trait’ BUT the departed is one hell of a movie so i deserve a pass. 

star wars: revenge of the sith: i accept zero criticism over this. any prequels haters, the door is right there. i do not want to hear it. we got shakespeare levels of tragedy and drama over here and i LIVE for it. anakin’s downfall is like.... the epicentre of the saga, it is EVERYTHING. and !!!!! rots has the best lightsaber duel in the entirety of the star wars universe. (an argument COULD be made for some clone wars duels like maul/ahsoka but........). i mean best friends turned enemies anakin and obi wan fight on a lava planet ????? A LAVA PLANET ???? while yelling at each other cos they are so mad that they can’t see eye to eye ????? it ends with anakin catching fire ??? and obi wan yelling ‘i loved you’ ?????? the theatrics. the drama. the betrayal. the music. the fact that the stunt coordinator whose third eye is wide wide open said it was designed like an argument between a husband and a wife. i mean, you’re gonna look me in the eye and tell me any of the rey and kyle ron’s lightsaber duels even come close to that???? pffff. p l e a s e. revenge of the sith is IT. 

anastasia: 20th fox’s anastasia has like... zero historical facts and i love every second of it. it’s romantic as hell, has a better soundtrack than most disney films, has an iconic villain AND it’s actually quite touching. if we forget the fact that the romanovs were terrible people who made their whole country suffer terribly rip. 

you’ve got mail: my fav romcom. enemies to lovers except its set in BOOKSHOPS and romanticises autumn ?? did they write this for me specifically?? also ft. america’s sweetheart tom hanks as the love interest??? and a leading lady obsessed with p&p ?? he brings her daisies when she’s sick after her store closes because he remembers they’re her favourite flowers :(((( 

the eagle of the ninth: don’t @ me it has scotland and homoeroticism and a stellar soundtrack. is the slave thing fishy? sure. is the attitude re: empires and stuff not great? sure. but i love it despite its flaws. fleabag voice: this is a love story. also a lot of the fics are chef’s kiss so. also not to be this person but jamie bell in this movie is so hot. i mean he’s so hot. his *** energy is off the charts. 

dunkirk:  OH YOU KNOW. me, a war movie stan, a chris nolan stan & a harry styles stan: i’m gonna love this movie ??? a normal ??? amount???? narrator voice: she did not, in fact, love the movie a normal amount. 

lotr: fellowship of the ring: i mean does it even need an explanation?? it’s fellowship. every second is perfect. yes, even the weird elrond transition while frodo is ill at rivendell. and my man boromir breaks my heart the whole time. the ULTIMATE comfort movie. just joy joy joy joy. i mean tremendous pain too lots of it is really sad, but joy. i’m due for a rewatch soon. 

labyrinth: this movie is WEIRD in the best most fun way !!!! it has an amazing female empowerment finale AND david bowie being iconic looking like THAT the whole time ?? FAV. 

mulan (1998): bi !!!!! rights !!!!!!! bi4bi jocks !!!! has the best disney song in ‘i’ll make a man out of you’. no i don’t accept constructive criticism.

rest and relax, watch a show or maybe just turn on some music while I play lovestruck or lovelink, play some pokemon, and either write or draw! i also really like to nap, especially since i often wake up early on my days off, and most of my friends aren’t online yet. helps me skip to when they Are online

oh, i have many people who would be very supportive, i know. it’s not a matter of having someone for me, though. i just don’t know how to bring it up to them, so i usually just keep quiet about it whenever i am :’)

oh hm..... well, at work, my coworker has been really nice about letting me play christmas music on the radio all day :) it drives him nuts, but he keeps turning it on for me because he knows i like it a lot. it’s really sweet. it’s not a huge gesture, but it means a lot to me!

the day that i finally adopt a cat! i’ve been sitting on it since around april but i just keep waiting. the day i do it, though..... i can’t wait!

small house near the base of a mountain. neighbors not too far away, but not too close. i have a big yard, and a great view of the mountains i nthe area, and lots of trees. inside and nice and homey, soft yellows with accents of white paint the walls inside and out, and it’s filled to the brim with little knickknacks and things i’ve collected over the years

right now my heart is set on colorado because the mountains there were gorgeous.... i’d settle for anywhere close to some mountains though

i hear the sound of birds and crickets, and a babbling brook off in the distance. i see flowers that don’t typically grow together doing so for me, shifting lightly in the wind. a few critters bounce over the flowers from time to time- fox kits, rabbits. everything’s at peace.

Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer (the current reading for when I’m reading out loud to the bees, which I think is very appropriate)

Love in the Western World, by Denis de Rougemont (a christmas gift from a sibling who couldn’t believe I hadn’t read it yet)

Medical Muses: Hysteria in Nineteenth-century Paris, by Asti Hustvedt (loving how it centres the women, not the doctors themselves)

The Anatomy of Being, by Shinji Moon (poetry that’s meant to be savoured. I get through about two a week)

A Taste of Honey, by Kai Ashante Wilson (I love the worldbuilding so much, it almost feels like home and I so rarely get that in fantasy)

Revenge of the Sith, by Matthew Stover (wow I was expecting some homoeroticism, but this is homoerotic)

last movie: Probably “Hackers (1993)”, which I tend to rewatch whenever I’m feeling down. Or stressed. Or tired. Or really feeling any emotion, honestly. It’s such a dumb film, I can’t help but love it.

last series: You know, I spent a solid half hour or so thinking about this and I honestly don’t know. Possibly SK8 back when it came out? Which is uh, several months ago now (I don’t watch many television series).

sweet, spicy, or savory: Salty please! So, savoury by default I suppose

coffee or tea: If I go without tea for more than like... four hours I instantly perish (mornings are a trial for this very reason). Conversely, I had my first coffee in almost three years yesterday. Tea always wins out.

three ships: The Titanic, the Beagle, and the Ship of Theseus. *struggles to maintain a straight face*

first ever ship: Probably soriku, followed quickly by sefikura!! Showing my age a bit here, I think. Like many queer youths, I fell hard for Kingdom Hearts, and have never quite managed to shake it.

currently working on: My MayThe4th gift which I can say nothing about except it’s going to be very fun + very slowly chipping away at a historical archaeologist obikin piece set just before WWI. As is my custom, I’m bogging myself down in trying to synthesise accurate historicity with the characters, and just need to stop thinking and write the damn thing!

favorite piece of clothing: Sorry, I can’t choose between my children (I make a lot of my own clothes, thus am very attached to all of them)

comfort food: Fish and chips - it reminds me so strongly of my grandmother who used to get them every Friday without fail. It’s also fairly gentle on my stomach which can be rather persnickety.

favorite time of year: Late Autumn! Crisp leaves, layers, no longer losing consciousness when I try to stand... truly the season has everything!

fav fanfiction: I see I’m being asked to choose between my children again... Of my own work, probably Swansong, which is so acutely litfic I’m almost embarrassed (but look at the amazing art!!). Of works gifted to me, my blood before me begs me by sciencefictioness which I think about Daily. I truly cannot pick from my bookmarked works, sorry!

1. What was the last dream you remember?

Uhhh, as soon as you ask me this I forget absolutely everything, but I do remember one recently including my dad, a possible train station, and several members of the yogscast/harry potter characters being present (wtf)

2. If you could move anywhere, where would it be?

This lowkey feels like a loaded question from my mum considering I’ve just moved, however I think somewhere in either Norway, the Netherlands or Denmark would be my top pick!

3. What’s the most beautiful thing about life?

Wow, getting deep are we? I think life is beautiful in that so many lives coexist, the vast majority of which completely unawares of each other, and still have indirect impacts on so many of them.

4. A song that you want everyone to listen to:

Off the top of my head it’s probably In My Bed by Pure Indigo (something I got off a chilluminati stream last month lmao)

5. Your favourite colour:

Lilac or pastel blue

6. Something you would like for Christmas:

A party where all the friends I’ve left in London can attend

7. Your favourite season and why:

Autumn, probably because it’s calming and pretty much average for everything (no rapid darkness, no extreme temperatures) and it’s the best when I’m inside and warm and everywhere else is cold

A toss-up between computer science and physics. I only study these and maths now for A-level

A tough one, but it’ll probably have to be either pjo: the titan’s curse or one of the Magnus Chase books (sos or hot, because I loved softd but it had too little plot for me)

魔道祖师 /MDZS/The Untamed/Cql(tbr); watched the animation 3 times, half way through season three. Manhua and novel yet to be read. Not done with the drama.

天官赐福 /TGCF/heavens official blessing(tbr); completed the animation, read up to chapter 64 of the manhua, awaiting the new volumes release on Bilibili. Novel tbr.

Death note (tbr); watched the anime within the last few years , I think I left it incomplete but I can’t remember, I know the most of the plot by memory, I was pretty obsessed w it, plan on reading the manga.

Attack on Titan (TBCR); finished the anime to date, manga to be continued reading

Devilman crybaby(tbc??)(tbr); I watched the newer Netflix version and I genuinely can’t remember if I finished it all the way through?? I got pretty far though. I plan on rewatching and finishing it, also would like to read the manga.

Beastars(tbc)(tbr); started watching it like 1/2 a year ago or more, maybe a full year ago. Dropped it since then cuz I didn’t have much time on my hands, plan on restarting.

Black butler(tbw)(tbc)(tbr); I put all these terms here because I did start reading the manga first a few years ago, then started dappling into the anime, but never really continued even though I want to.

Tokyo goul(tbc)(tbcr); got a good ways through the manga but dropped it a year ago. I plan on picking it back up and also finishing the anime.
