This one was titled: Finding Comfort in the Enormity of the Universe When Your Problems Feel Too Big.
Yeah, I was *thisclose* to an existential crisis (aren't we all at some point?) and was learning about the stars, and isn't there something comforting about there being this wide expanse out there? All that beauty and chaos and light and dark and it's billions and millions of light years away, so far that you measure it in light, and you can't even use yourself as a metric when measuring up against nebulae and supergiants and blackholes. And it makes you feel kinda small, and maybe a little scared, but suddenly those problems aren't so big, are they? We're just little people on a little rock next to a little star with our own little moon. We really won the lottery on chances, didn't we? And doesn't that make you want to look at the stars, take a breath, and make it to the next day?
Side note: I spent a good couple of hours scrolling through NASA's website and getting sidetracked (hence my earlier post on the moon landing in two years). Lowkey in love with NASA's website, ngl. So as an added treat, here are a few of my favorites that I came across!!
This will tell you when/where you can see the ISS! (idk if it works internationally, I just sort of focusing on where I was atm, ha ha!)
This lets you know about upcoming launches! (how I found out about Artemis!!)
This is a map that lets you see pictures of a bunch of cool stars/galaxies/exoplanets/nebulae! (This is where I grabbed all of the pretty space pictures!! There's so much more, too!!!)
This is a website that posts a fun picture of certain tech or something in the universe as well as an explanation below every day!! (I was shown this recently and I keeeeep checking.)
And, last but not least, this website tells you what picture the Hubble Telescope took on your birthday!! (Astrology signs are OUT, tell me what picture was taken the day of your birth!!)
There's also a (fictional) comic strip about the first woman on the moon! (I didn't get a chance to read it, but it's also found on a whole page dedicated to interactives and games which is absolutely where I found some of those other links)
Anyway, there's definitely more to find and would highly recommend just scrolling through their website to see what you can find!
We're gonna be okay, y'all. (っ´⌣`)ノ(´._.`)

BRF Reading - 31st of August, 2024
This is speculation only
Card drawn on the 31st of August, 2024
Question: Will Lady Louise become a working royal?
This is a one card reading
Card drawn - The Two of Wands
Tumblr media
This is a card of planning and making decisions. It can have an energy of leaving home/safety and stepping out of your comfort zone, taking risks.
The energy of this card is not so much 'We're planning for it' as it is 'We are discussing this'. I think that this is one of the solutions to the temporary lack of working royals that the BRF is discussing. No decision has been made as yet, but they are looking at the points for and against such a decision, what would have to happen for it to occur, when it would occur given Lady Louise's education, etc.
All this depends on what Lady Louise wants to do as well, of course - she does have some say in the matter. I'm not getting any energy that says she is adamantly against the idea, but this is all still at the discussion stage and not the implementation stage.
Wands can be PR, so we may see some articles designed to find out how the public feels about this happening in the future.
I'm not getting anything definitely from this card. Nothing is a surety, nothing is fixed. However, it is one of the avenues that the BRF are looking at for the future and discussing as a possible course of action for the future.

Bob's Burgers Halloween specials ranked
(Because screw it, why not?)
11. Tina and the Real Ghost--This one's more awkward than funny. I honestly feel bad for Tina for falling in love with an empty box...and grow to hate Tammy for being so petty to steal the box away from her. Even the B-Plot of ghost hunters in the restaurant isn't all that funny. Honestly, the funniest bit is when Bob's unexpectedly swarmed with bugs after a brief moment of cockiness. Other than that, pretty weak episode.
10. The Wolf of Wharf Street--PROBABLY the most irresponsible Linda's been with the kids and Bob believing Teddy's a werewolf was a bit of a stretch. Still, some spooky atmosphere carries this one a bit, so I can't hate it THAT much.
9. Apple Gore-chard! (But Not Gory)--There need to be more episodes with Louise and Jessica. Their friendship is easy and cute in a lot of moments. Anyways, as for the episode, it's pretty standard. Some REAL Halloween stuff doesn't happen until half way through and the jokes aren't all that funny. There's barely any attention on the lesson, making it feel more like a waste of time if anything else. It's just Louise and Jessica's friendship that carries things if anything else (Seriously, MORE of that)
8. Pig Trouble in Little Tina--A great episode about peer pressure and with a fun subplot about Bob's gross ear wax. It's just that none of it screams HALLOWEEN to me. There's some spooky imagery, but a lot of this episode feels like something that could happen in ANY episode, especially Bob's subplot. Great episode, but not so great of a Halloween special.
7. Heartbreak Hotel-oween--This one's cute. That's all I can say.
6. Teen-a Witch--Tina trying to be a witch is more cute than it should be, even if the jokes aren't strong with this one. Thankfully the subplot of Bob obsessing over who's stealing his jack-o-lanterns is funny enough to carry it.
5. The Pumpkinening--Weird title, but it's an episode with Gayle. They're naturally weird, and this one's no exception as Linda and Gayle hunting down who knows that they smashed pumpkins from a contest. Add that with a warm ending and a great subplot of Bob dealing with the stress of being a house with GOOD candy, and you got something fun.
4. Nightmare on Ocean Avenue Street--The kids hunting down a candy kidnapper is fun and Bob and Teddy trying to show up an impressive handyman has some good laughs to it. Solid special.
3. Full Bars--It's always fun seeing the Belcher kids use their brand of chaos to do something good. The only thing that drags it down is the guinea pig murder mystery. Some good jokes are there, but I can't help but cringe as Teddy ruins his own party and the payoff isn't all that funny. That credit scene where Bob danced in the fat suit for Linda was cute as shit, though.
2. Fort Night--The introduction to Millie, and a great one at that as she tortures the kids who are in a situation that's...way more dangerous than you think in hindsight. They really were that close to death, huh? Still, a pretty empathetic episode as we all know there's no worse fate for a kid than missing Halloween and you REALLY want them to get out. And I'm sure some parents can relate to Bob and Linda's plight to make a costume for their kids and the payoff for this one is pretty good.
1. The Hauntening--A genuinely creepy and intense special for this show, where the jokes don't take away from the scares but add to them. This really feels like how these characters would react to a horrifying situation, making you fear for their lives even more. And even the big twist in the end doesn't ruin the episode, but adds to it, showing how much this family cares for each other and how much they'll do to make one of them happy. They might have gone a LITTLE far, but it's in that gray area where you can accept it. Being sweet and spooky is no other combination you can get from any other show except for this one, and I love it.
And that's all. Well, for now. Season 14 hasn't had its Halloween special yet. It's probably pulling a Simpsons and waiting until November for some reason. And I'm not waiting until then. This is the Halloween Special on MY blog, so there. Happy Halloween.

BoblinWeek Day 2 - Routine/Flaw
@boblinweek
“Kids, it’s bed time.”
“Oh, boo,” Gene said as he put his late night bowl of chips back in the kitchen.
“Listen to your father,” Linda reminded.
“Gene’s right,” Louise pointed out, though she didn’t . “Why do we have to go to bed when you get to stay up?”
“Because we’re adults and have to do adult things. Now brush your teeth and get to bed, miss missy,” Linda said as she kissed the top of Louise’s bunny hat.
Once Tina, Gene, and Louise withdrew to bed, Bob and Linda turned to each other.
“You get the snacks, I’ll get it set up,” Linda told Bob.
Bob returned with a small plate of cheeses and chocolates as Linda queued up the latest episode of Winthorpe Manor. Linda instantly began to dig into the cheddar cubes and hit play.
As the opening theme played and glamorous shots of the mansion dazzled along the screen. The narrator recapped what happened last week, accompanied by Linda’s gasps, despite already knowing what happened.
Linda talked throughout the episode, but Bob didn’t mind. He liked her commentary and felt that it livened up the otherwise stuffy period drama. Besides, she was passionate about it. Linda had tuned in many a time to Bob’s eager rants about the Burger of the Day and his model airplane. So while she spoke over the television program, Bob smiled and listened intently.
After an hour of gasps and comments loud enough to wake the kids, Bob and Linda cleared the plate of snacks and started to retire to bed.
The pair brushed their teeth, got changed into their comfier, softer pajamas and climbed into their respective sides of their bed.
Facing each other, the lights out, Bob and Linda leaned forward until their lips met in a lazy, sleepy kiss. Through the darkness, illuminated by the street lights of Ocean Avenue, Bob and Linda had matching goofy grins as they stared at each other lovingly.
“Good night, Linda.”
“Good niiight, my Bobby.”
The sound of the other’s snores soothed them as they fell into a deep sleep, wrapped up in each other’s arms.

This was my half of an art trade with the talented Lu (@Kibble.Kricket223 on Instagram) and I decided to draw his adorable OC, Oliver, who’s Louise’s future son. Louise passed on her bunny ears to him 🥹
[ID]: Digital fanart of Oliver, a Bob’s Burgers OC. He is a young boy with blue overalls and a lighter blue undershirt. He has bright blue eyes, a small grin, and swooping, dark brown bangs. He’s wearing a pink bunny ear hat with patches on it, showing its age. One of the ears also flops down, further showing its age. The background behind him shows the Bob’s Burgers restaurant, along with other places on Ocean Avenue, such as Mort the Mortician’s Morgue, and the Wonder Wharf Amusement Park farther back in the distance.

"Bob's Burgers" Season 9 Episode Ranking Rewatch (Long Post)
So, I've been rewatching "Bob's Burgers" from the beginning and ranking the episodes using the spreadsheet that @babsvibes created! If you want to know why I'm doing this or how I view the 1-5 rating scale, you can check out my Season 1 post! If you want to check out any of the other seasons, I've been using the "bob's burgers episode ranking rewatch" tag for all of them.
Now, on to Season 9:
Tumblr media
Average (Mean) Score: 4.55
Mode (Most Common) Ranking: 5
Ranking Breakdown: 12 5s 10 4s
Season as a whole thoughts:
"Bob's Burgers" is turning nine and it's feeling *uses inhaler* fine!
Seriously, this is just another really excellent season in my opinion. It joins Season 4 and 8 as one of the seasons to not getting any episodes rated lower than a 4, and it's average score is good enough for 4th place of the currently ranked seasons below 7, 4, and 5. In some ways, it reminds me a lot of Season 7- a great mix of humor and heart along with introducing some new characters and other innovations- it's definitely representative of the series at its best, in my opinion.
Some thoughts on specific episodes (and feel free to ask if you want my thoughts on an episode I didn't comment on):
"Just One of the Boyz 4 Now for Now": It's a tough call, but this might be my favorite season premiere and my favorite "musical episode" (ie: one with more than the typical 1-2 songs). All the songs are absolute classics and great parodies of romantic comedy tropes! it's really a brilliant episode. It's hard to name a favorite song, but I think I might have to go with "Friend Zone" just because "Now let's kiss over this cake/'Cause it's your birthday, I guess" always cracks me up. The baby rat subplot is also really fun, and a great use of Hugo. And this episode gives us another (brief) appearance of Louise's Boo Boo crush, which is one of my favorite running gags! A great way to start the season.
"The Taking of Funtime One Two Three": While we're on the subject of great songs (or we were recently) "let an egg roll, from your egg hole" and "if wooly mammoths had had wheels maybe they'd still be around" are among the "Bob's Burgers" song lyrics that are always living in my head. Sadly, I rarely have an occasion to say either of them in conversation. I do like to say "To what end, people?!" occasionally, so thanks for that, Trip. Anyway, this is another classic "The Belcher Kids and their friends have an adventure episode" with a healthy does of Mr. Fischoeder and some fun moments with Yuli the security guard, one of my favorite minor recurring characters.
"Tweentrepreneurs": I love this episode because it helped inspire one of my favorite future career headcanons for Louise (and an outlined multichapter fic I'll probably never write). While taking over the restaurant or being a film director seem like the most obvious future career for Louise, this episode has the biggest of about three canon moments that inspired my "Louise Belcher, future labor union organizer" headcanon. I worked in the labor movement for several years and I just think would Louise would love it- taking on the rich and powerful, helping other people stand up for themselves, causing good trouble- it's a really good fit for her. And here she is, leading a walkout at age 9! (And, given my fondness for her relationship with Rudy, I have to mention that it's her concern for his health that is the final straw leading to the walkout.)
"Nightmare on Ocean Avenue Street": Probably my favorite Halloween episode; definitely has my two favorite Halloween costumes! Rudy and Bob are probably the two characters I relate to the most, and it cracks me up that their costumes in this episode are totally things I would do: "what? It might look like I'm wearing normal clothes, but actually I'm totally Paul Rudd or Bruce Springsteen, can't you tell?!" Also, I don't think I've mentioned before how much I love the guy who's about to throw the candy into the incinerator. He's really one of my favorite one-off characters. Dude just got out of six month coma, doesn't know what day it is, still goes to work...and apparently will just throw anything into the incinerator that anybody tells him to (unless he gets a more compelling reason not to)? I think he might rank second after the "Boyz 4 Now" security guard as my favorite nameless one-off character.
"I Bob Your Pardon": Maybe my third or fourth favorite Thanksgiving episode! I've always had an interested in politics and journalism (I wanted to be a journalist when I was a kid) so this hilarious small town Thanksgiving turkey pardoning scandal really hits a lot of the right notes for me. If I had become a journalist, I definitely would've stolen "Well, somebody better call Huey Lewis because I may have found myself some news" as my catchphrase. And the end credits song is a total banger! "Don't you taint my mayor!"
"Better Off Sled": An excellent Christmas episode! Generally speaking, Louise and Logan's dynamic isn't really my jam, but I enjoy them here. The one-upsmanship of the snowball arms race is a lot of fun, and the "stupid Christmas" ending is sweet but not too sweet and feels totally in character for Louise. Also, I can't help but love this exchange: "Then why does it look like your butt could take a sheet of fresh-baked cookies out of the oven?" "Genetics?" (Kristen Schaal's delivery of "genetics?" is one of at least three times on the series when she absolutely kills me with her delivery of a single word). All that being said, I think Teddy is the real comedic MVP of this episode- pretty much everything he says cracks me up! And I love that Rudy is basically the one who saves the day for the Belcher kids! And Knitcracker, I can't believe I didn't mention Knitcracker yet! (That said, it's still not my favorite Christmas episode since it doesn't involve any references to murder mannequins.)
"The Helen Hunt": I feel like this might be one of my least popular shipping opinions but...I like Teddy/Kathleen! Not in the sense that I want to create fic or art for them, but I just think they are kind of sweet together. Like with Roger and Judy from "Aquaticism" they have that "awkward middle-aged people finding each other" vibe that this awkward middle-aged single person finds appealing. And I think her pretty easygoing, laidback nature is a nice contrast to how stressed out/excitable Teddy can be. And I always enjoy people who watch odd sports! Okay, Teddy/Kathleen aside, I also just enjoyed that they did a followup to "Housetrap", and the father and hot son plumbing duo subplot is so cute! "You, you make plumbing fun..."
"Bed, Bob, and Beyond": One of the things I've noticed in this rewatch, is that I really enjoy the three-story episodes (aka vignette episodes aka triptychs aka who knows what else some folks have called them.) I think what I really enjoy is that the reason for them is always different, and therefore it always says something different about the characters and their situations. it's not just the Simpsons having a trio of non-canon Halloween adventures ever year. I think showing Linda and Bob having a stupid fight, and the kids view of it and their efforts to get them to reconcile, was a really clever use of one of these stories. Also, if I am ever asked to do an English accent, I will likely say "I'm watching footie on the telly in the pubby where the beer is". (Which is probably offensive, so please don't ask me to do that!)
"Every Which Way But Goose": Another thing the rewatch has made me appreciate more: Jimmy Jr. and his relationship with Tina. I never hated J-Ju, but I will say that I probably took him and the Tinimmy relationship for granted- it's been there since almost the beginning but I never really thought much about it. But the rewatch has helped me realize how funny of a character J-Ju is (it's just a really funny voice by H. Jon Benjamin) and how the Tinimmy relationship has given us some really funny episodes- most notably this one and "Ex Mach Tina", which are both all-time classics in my book (and, of course, they play a big role in "Bob Actually" as well, but I like that one for other reasons as well.) To me, it's clear from this episode and others that J-Ju does care about Tina...he's just very much a 13 year old boy. So, he's occasionally thoughtful but more often dumb or oblivious. Also, the end credits song to this one is another classic. I wish I could go to a concert of "Bob's Burgers" music just so I could scream out "secret kiss with Bruce the Goose" with thousands of other excited concert goers, because that is what that lyric deserves, dammit!
"The Gene Mile": So, I recently posted about how much I enjoyed some of the Rudy moments in this one. This is another great "Belcher kids and their friends" adventure; and I really wish that Courtney and Alex had more appearances in stories like this- where they and their relationship with Gene isn't really the center of the story- they are just part of the gang! It's always fun to watch different combinations of the kids have fun together. Also, nice for Large Tommy to get his largest role- going back to Season 1 of the rewatch it's funny to think that he was introduced much earlier than some of Louise's more iconic classmates (Rudy, Chloe, Millie, Jessica, Harley, etc.).
"P.T.A. It Ain't So": I feel like this might be the first example in the rewatch of an episode that really grew on me. A lot of the episodes I've given 5s to were ones I remember loving as soon as I saw them. Or they were "sleeper hits" that I had basically forgotten about before rewatching. This episode I remember when I first saw it, and I remember thinking it was fine but nothing great. But on rewatches I just find myself enjoying it more and more. I really love the Kim and Sons hardware store bird subplot- especially the ridiculous flyer the kids make. Also, it's fun watching the kids play with their pipe in the background (such a great kids being kids moment)! But the PTA stuff is great too- I love the fact that Tammy's Dad is Linda's PTA bestie for some reason! And Linda's idea of Colleen being in the shark suit for the dramatic revelation! And the Bleach Boys! Also, as someone who headed a neighborhood political group for a while, Joanne's line "Do you have any idea how many emails I send a week? No, you don't because no one reads them" resonates with me.
Random thoughts (stuff that doesn't affect the ratings):
-More great new characters continue to arrive on the scene! Hi Susmita! Hi Arnold!
-I would totally watch Randy's movie "A Life, Well, Steved". "And I thought to myself, 'I can't take another hurdle. I think I am that baby turtle.'" That's some beautiful, profound stuff there.
See you in the Season 10 post! It could be pretty soon since I've already watched rated it all- just need time to write!

my favorite hetcedes girl!lewis dynamic would be kind of a continuation of 'desire unfolds' by bestliars where girl!lewis (or louise, elle, etc) also hits the wall of women's racing and is like a role reversal of your wag story. I know non racing lewis au's usually have him (or her in this case) go into music or fashion but I can't imagine early 2000s girl!lewis would know that about herself and wouldn't pursue that in time for it to make sense (i feel like for these wags you had to have become famous in your career before your wag status, or else it won't pan out). The Catholic guilt narrative especially without racing in the way would make it so they got married rather young. Their relationship would still be complex and not perfect because I envision in this au nico would still be racing and have 7 or so championships, not because he wants to but because he has to carry the ambition for both of them (2014,15,16,17,18,19,20 is easy to achieve in the Mercedes dominance when you have no teammate competition). I don't think she would want him to stay home and have a happy family and instead be encouraging him to stay in F1 for as much success as she wished she had. And if they did have kids I still think she would be at every race lol. It could also be interesting to explore how that level of dominance and success would contrast with his personality (as i don't think he would be partying it up with hollywood like lewis did during that era, so he wouldn't be F1's figurehead in the same way lewis is today). Also him equaling Michael's championships after how his relationship with Michael was????
But also, I can't creatively write to save my life so this won't be a thing I write lol. I wish I could tell someone my idea and instantly get a fabulous fic back lmao
I also love your toto idea! I know you said that it would be difficult to do girl!nico/lewis because of how he would feel entitled to end up with her, but I think that entitlement and almost cockiness could be an interesting side of him to explore. Especially when he has all the options of women you could want in front of him but he's still expecting Nico to be his. Could be interesting!
I would personally find that super depressing to write because the constant background information of what we know: lewis is the greatest racer of all time, the 7 titles nico is winning is hers and the only reason she can't and is instead known as his wife is due to her sex. ofc not all fics are supposed to be happy and romantic but there's no happy ending beyond lewis having to accept and have her man vicariously living out her dreams (ergo be discontent of that potential What If life forever). you as a reader would pity lewis the whole time
you do raise a good point that she would be too young to know herself yet to get into fashion/music, although probably later in life with nico's money she'd have access to those avenues.
although the idea that nico is the one who wants to retire and be with his family while lewis is the one who keeps pushing him to renew his contract and bribes him with another baby he won't have time to properly see is kind of interesting.
but it's not my flavour, sometimes the more realistic idea is not the better fic. but I would read it if someone wrote it and did the dynamics right
I personally find it easier to do girl!nico hitting the racing ceiling and being perfectly discontent about it because she has so many safety nets, even as Toto's problematically younger gf where the power is imbalanced, she's still the daughter of a world champion, she's still rich, she still graduated from imperial college. with the hetcedes you proposed lewis married young, there's still that class insecurity, that universe's GOAT chose her because they were childhood friends but now he has all the pick of beautiful women in the world should he want (even if he's 100% loyal), and the discontentment would just be too much.
with girl!Nico hetcedes of "lewis still chooses her" it veers too much into traditional heterosexual romance for my taste. but yeah I'd be down to read it someone else wrote it hahaha, there's just a lot of delicate gender power dynamics to keep in mind when doing a gender swap fic and still have it be compelling. a lot of work!

The story you've all been waiting for: the epic saga of AUNT MAY'S PINK HAT! It's a thread that traces through 4 issues and 3 different books all written by Louise Simonson.
It all starts with Sam 'Cannonball' Guthrie buying a hat for his mom while in NYC with the New Mutants in Marvel Team-Up #149.
Tumblr media
He ends up helping Spider-Man with an attack from the "Incandescent Man".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spidey notices Sam is being awful protective of this hat in the midst of the battle.
Tumblr media
After the battle, Spidey gets the idea that he should buy a hat for Aunt May to smooth things over. Why does he need to smooth things over?
Tumblr media
They haven't been on speaking terms since he dropped out of grad school. That's 3 months later in the first issue of the new Web of Spider-Man series. We've got Louise Simonson writing again and Aunt May is admiring a pink hat herself. She's just getting started.
Tumblr media
In the next issue Pete buys a hat for Aunt May at Saks Fifth Avenue...
Tumblr media
...and he shows it off at the Bugle...
Tumblr media
...and he runs into the same problem Cannonball did where he has to defend it in the midst of battle with the Vulturions.
Tumblr media
In this case The Kingpin is watching and he's just as confused as I am about how this became a hat based story.
Tumblr media
Pete has to use darts to block the poison darts of his enemy, but loses the hat!
Tumblr media
Turns out the Vulturions had also been causing trouble for the Kingpin so he replaces the hat as a thank you. Wild!
Tumblr media
It's the 3rd issue of Web of Spider-Man and we're almost to the fireworks factory if the fireworks factory is Aunt May gets a new hat.
Tumblr media
The Vulture and Vulturions fight in the sky and Pete basically gives up on making it to Aunt May's birthday party, but MJ won't let him. He's still too scared to face her, but he drops off the hat. It leads to a not-hat-based reconciliation in the main Amazing Spider-Man book but why talk about that?

Now, if that was all this was I wouldn't have written up this too long breakdown. We're moving 5 months later to Amazing Spider-Man Annual #19. Louise Simonson had left Web Of but she's back for the Annual and you know what that means.
Tumblr media
Kingpin's hat based plot is revealed. He's used Alistaire Smyth, son of Spencer Smythe the creator of the Spider-Slayer robots, to insert a tracking device into the hat!
Tumblr media
Too bad Aunt May lets MJ's Aunt Anna try it on right as Smythe attacks!
Tumblr media
Smythe! You kidnapped everyone but the target!
Tumblr media
Spidey arrives at the scene and identifies the hat-based technology, but Aunt May thinks he's just stolen her new hat!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spidey confronts Kingpin who passes all the blame on Smythe. Anyway, Spider-Man defeats Smythe, saves MJ, and Aunt Anna, but totally forgets about the hat.

from what we see of the promo images it seems like mort and teddy are wearing costuming makeup of some kind and them helping louise and tina out w/ filming a zombie horror movie out WOULD make sense except jimmy jr is also there?? and he generally doesn't seem like the type of guy to volenteer to. do things for people
my guess is either its a three-stories type of episode (but more in the style of s14ep1) or somehow ocean avenue is doing a zombie apocolypse themed attack on the belcher family which Does sound like something fischoeder would do for weird gay homosexual reasons. but he's also in the next episode as a major character sooo. it could also be a new type of episode format that we haven't seen before bcuz they've been more experimental with the storytelling this season but either way it doesn't explain why they're zombies or why louise is filming an archery documentry (most likely just for fun) its in a youtube video format
