When reading comics, how easily can you tell the actual Big City-dwelling writers from the suburbanites?
Not at all! The giveaways in fic are usually things like having the characters drive everywhere and never take public transportation, huge apartments, and going to school with the same kids from kindergarten through high school. (And to be clear, I'm talking about New York norms specifically - other cities are Big but have way more driving, for example. What's true about my life in New York is not true about, say, LA.) That stuff either rarely comes up in comics, or is handwaved away with, like...of course Bruce Wayne drives everywhere and has a massive amount of real estate, but he's not the average Gothamite.
Also, comics are drawn. Maybe the writer wasn't picturing a believable city block when they wrote the script, but if the artist draws a believable city block, it doesn't matter what the artist had in mind.
(Side note 1: Silver Age comics "cities" look incredibly suburban to me, which isn't a surprise since a house in the suburbs was the American Dream then. But like. Central City is barely a city, to me.)
(Side note 2: I do get a kick out of artists photo-referencing famous NYC buildings for DC's various fictionopolises. Like the ones who put the Flatiron and the Central Park reservoir in Central City - I see you, dude! You can't fool me! Or the RHATO issue where Roy went to an AA meeting literally down the block from the apartment I was living in at the time, that was neat.)

When the interest rates were near zero, every lender, real estate agent, and MEDIA OUTLET were telling potential buyers to "get in on the good deals while they last" - now here we are.
1.6 MILLION Australians now AT RISK of MORTGAGE STRESS. UP from JUST 88,000 the month prior.
This is due to the fixed rate portion of their variable rate loan coming to an end and exposing the buyer to the current interest rate.

Aussies wanting to buy a home in Sydney will now need to earn about $278,000 a year to afford the repayments, according to Finder analysis of PropTrack data.
That’s more than double the $130,000 a year income that was needed in 2020 to buy the median-priced home, based on average loan rates.
Melbourne buyers needed an annual income of $172,000, up 74 per cent from 2020, while Brisbane buyers now need an income of $166,000, up 128 per cent.
These increases are far and above the pay rises Aussies are receiving, with Australian Bureau of Statistics data finding national wages had grown by about 12 per cent over the same period.
Finder’s figures assume the buyers use a 20 per cent deposit and avoid mortgage stress, which is when you spend more than a third of your gross income on repayments.
More than 1.6 million Aussies were estimated to be “at risk” of mortgage stress in June, Roy Morgan data found, up from 88,000 from the month prior.
