SPEAKING OF, actually !! I've had a l4d au running through my brain lately, I'm just gonna go ahead n ramble about it a little bit here

Okay essentially the idea is, instead of zombies, supernatural type things start happening and creatures start coming around and the two groups (l4d's group, and l4d2's group) seem to have odd abilities connected to these creatures and behaviors, scenarios, etc. CEDA somehow along the grapevine hears that these people have these abilities and gather them all together, trapping them in a dangerous and highly supernaturally charged mansion. They all have their own rooms, and they even have a store with all they'd need right beside the mansion (which, wow, this must've been setup beforehand- which leaves the question, how would CEDA be able to set all this up? How did they lure all these creatures?)

With this, they all need to learn to lean onto each other and trust each other's abilities, though obviously with characters like Nick- that certainly isn't an easy task. Essentially the au is them getting into shenanigans and near death experiences a bunch of times until they figure out how to get free.

me: in leo's ending in a way out, he has a beard. when characters grow beards, it's to show a timeskip and by extension to show the character has changed in some way. now how much time passed in between the roof and when he put vincent's letter on carol's doorstep? why did he wait that long? it makes no sense, especially considering that he wouldn't have waited long enough to grow a beard before moving away with his family, since it wouldn't be safe. also if you take into account that beards show a change in character in some way, what does this mean for leo? vincent's ending showed him changing in some way (by resigning and going back to carol) but leo was only implied to change, with implied regret.
