That doesn't bother me - half of his prominent work is somewhat lost media, Tumblr's search is super fucked, and I always want to help anyone falling down the JO rabbit hole - but I realized that one central pinned post would be helpful! You're gonna have to sail the high seas to watch this. I'm sorry that this is the state of the US' most important comedy show of the 2000s. Since Paramount hasn't done shit with the old episodes for decades, I wouldn't hold your breath on it entering streaming.

In the US, this can be streamed on Peacock. Individual episodes can be purchased on YouTube, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime.

Worldwide, Community is now on Hulu.

Things I’m Doing To Ensure I Have A GREAT 2023

2023 my focus is solely on ME. It will be a year of self-love, self-discovery, self-growth, self-care, all of the “self’s”. The key word here is SELF. ME. I guess you can say 2023 is my selfish year, even though I am always my priority. But, this year is going to be on a whole different level of self development and love. I cannot explain how excited I am for it! I wanted to share some things I’m going to be doing to ensure I have a knockout year! Some of these things I already do, some I will be implementing this year. 

Wellness 

1.) Obtain a membership at the luxury gym in my area 

2.) Frequent gym 4x a week 

3.) Drink hot tea daily 

4.) Go on a long walk 2x a week

5.) Purchase only grass fed meats, cheese and butter, free range eggs and organic produce when possible 

6.) Axe out soda completely 

7.) Stay consistent with sleep schedule 

8.) Stretch 5-10 minutes daily 

Mental Health

1.) Journal daily 

2.) Re-start therapy 

3.) Put phone away an hour before bed

Bandai Japan Reveals FANTASTICS Tamagotchi Original Shell

If you caught the broadcast of FANTASTICS on July 6th at 24:59 then you saw the members of the Fantastics by Exile Tribe pitch their Tamagotchi Original designs to Bandai on the television program. We informed you recently that Bandai would be making a guest appearance on the show in order to select a winning Tamagotchi Original shell design.

Each member drafted a unique shell in hopes to be selected, and have their design enter production for sales from an online lottery, and sold at their live stage tours for  the “Back to the Memories Part 3” show in Japan.

The winning shell design went to Sota Nakajima amongst the eight other designs.

The Tamagotchi Original shell is super adorable as it features a sun with a Tamagotchi face at the top right-hand corner, sunflowers toward the bottom of the shell, and the “Back to the Memories” logo. The screen is outlined in brown and neon green buttons.

The packaging is also unique as it features the "Back to the Memories Part 3" logo, and more subtle colors of red and blue along with a Tamagotchi logo to match.

How can you get your hands on one? Well, this will be available by two means, the first is the online lottery. HI-AX members will be able to participate in the lottery starting on July 7th, 2023 and ending on July 19th, 2023 on the official website. Winners will be contacted on July 21st, 2023 and they’ll then be ale to start making their purchases up until July 30th, 2023.

This Tamagotchi Original will be available for ¥3,800. The Tamagotchi Original will start shipping on July 31st, 2023!

Bandai also brought some Tamagotchi’s on set and took a picture with the Fanatics! They brought a Tamagotchi Plus Color, Tamagotchi Plus, and a Tamagotchi Original, and of course a Tamagotchi Uni!

Social FYI post: Kakaopage

So I see on various social media spaces the immense hatred of KKP lately, because their anti-piracy task force, P.cok is going around and throwing DMCAs at scanlation and translation groups. There's been more anger towards them lately because every time a series is axed or unexpectedly cancelled, western readers have a tendency to blame everything on kakaopage.

So this is an information post!

Misinformation: KKP axes series Answer: The publisher axes series Kakaopage is an online distributor, not a publisher (although they do have some shares/involvement in some series) and are for the most part, an online platform to share content. They're a platform that allows anyone, from novices to big publishing houses to post their content in an easy and accessible way. Other such platforms include Naver or Ridi.

To give an example, Kakaopage is like Amazon, or Barnes and Nobles (USA bookstore), or even wattpad. They host a ton of stuff, but don't necessarily own it. Back in 2017, it was reported that for all content sold, the revenue is shared between Google Play (30 %), Kakao (20 %), and the publisher (50 %). The publisher then distributes those profits to the manhwa teams.

As part of their agreements with various publishers, the p.cok anti-piracy task force was created to stop piracy and illegal distribution. Their intent is purely to keep things to the official sources, to make sure the publishers (like DAON, D&C, Carrotoon etc) get paid to pass on to the manhwa teams.

As such, over the past few years, Kakaopage has invested tremendously in legal ways to read their stories in various countries:

Korea

China (Podo, Lehzin)

USA or "english speaking countries" (Tapas, Tappytoon, Radish, Webtoon, manta etc)

Indonesia (KKP indonesia)

Japan (Piccoma)

Thailand

Tappy France

Tappy Germany

etc Misinformation: Kakaopage doesn't care about your language/country Answer: Slight truth, but the more accurate answer is "the publishers don't care about your language/country" As one might notice, this isn't a very comprehensive list of countries. That's the point. Kakaopage and the Korean publishers don't care about their readers in low-readership countries (or continents) like South America, Africa, the middle east, India, Vietnam, or the Phillipines. Because simply, it's too much to invest in countries/languages that won't have high enough readership. So they focus on the "richer" countries to invest in, with translations and localization. They literally do not care about readers not in their list of localization/countries, as these readers would not pay for their services in the first place. Capitalist societies do not want their products out there for free, and that's what piracy is - people reading for free when they could be paying to support the original authors. Misinformation: Supporting officially is expensive!! Answer: Not really When you break it down, not really. on the KKP app, if you want to rent a chapter for 72 hrs, it's 200 coins. If you want to permanently buy a chapter "collect", it's 500 coins. 5000 coins = $4 on the app store 10000 coins = $9 on the app store, etc. Basically, if you want to collect a chapter, with the lowest tier = 5000 coins = 10 chapters = $4 ----> 25 cents per chapter. If you purchase on Tappytoon, I believe it comes out to about 35 cents per chapter If you purchase on Tapas, I heard it's around 30-40 cents per chapter? back to KKP: Now, as each chapter is 25 cents, imagine how that's distributed: 12.5 cents to the publisher, and 5 cents to KKP to host it. For each YM chapter purchased on KKP, which costs a reader 25 cents, DAON Entertainment gets 12.5 cents to split amongst Hayeonnim, Hyeyongnim, and the other staff. Yikes. For a 100 chapter series --> $25 to read it on kakaopage --> $12.5 goes to DAON to distribute to the manhwa team. That's not much per person. If we're lucky to get a physical release, I believe it's about $10 USD for 12 chapters for the YM physicals in KR. For Villains are Destined to Die, or Stepmothers Marchen, who have physical ENG releases, someone told me it's about $15 for 6-8 chapters (needs verification) Back to the webtoons: imagine, 100 people read 100 chapters on aggregate sites instead of one of the official routes: Hayeonnim and Hyeyongnim have already lost $1,250 in royalties/income from the series. from bato alone i see a chapter can have about 55K views. I'm not sure how to translate "views" to "readers", so lets arbitrarily say each chapter is read by 10,000 people internationally who for whatever reason, don't read officially. So 10,000 readers x 100 chapters at 0.12 cents each = loss of $125,000 of income for the manhwa teams for a series with 3 seasons released. Bottom line is, if you can support and want to support, it would be a good idea to. No one's forcing you to, but think of your favorite authors and artists ---!

ASSMU AX 2024 UPDATE ☆

Yesterday, Frontier Works quietly provided additional information for the AX ASSMU screening on their global FB page.

They have confirmed that this will be a 3D live, and NOT a live viewing.

They reference their use of LED and stage lights to achieve this "sense of realism".

This may indicate a similar setup to that of MikuExpo, but we can also be assured that they simply won't be playing a copy of a DVD like in previous screenings— technical effects will be at play here.

Frontier Works also announced that you can purchase penlights at the animateGROUP booth #3700 in the Exhibit Hall for interested buyers.

You can also CHOOSE your penlight when buying from their booth!!

They continue to sell for $40 whether you purchase these penlights in-person or online. Please note that they continue to be randomized if purchased with your ticket.

The ShowClix site also mentions that penlight redemption will ONLY be at the Novo and distributed on the day of the event after you've checked in IF PURCHASED ONLINE.

Frontier Works will also be selling other ASSMU merch at the AG booth #3700 in the Exhibit Hall. arlo grew up in a extremely loving family . as the only child with a stay at home mother he was constantly showered him with affection . he wasn’t necessarily spoiled, there were a lot of guidelines he was expected to follow and his mouth often got him in trouble in school, but his parents were always very gentle with him .

his love of video games came from his parents. as a way to get him to settle down and focus on something, and also spend time as a family, they would go out and purchase a variety of consoles and games to have family game nights. what started as a weekend thing quickly turned into a nearly every night of the week thing and something he looked forward to the most.

as he got older his parents interest in the games dwindled but they had already created a monster. he tried to connect with his classmates, joined gaming clubs, and online spaces available, but the thing is he’s not very good??? at playing games??? easily confused, has a hard time figuring out controls, and panics at any sudden music change which makes him forgot how to play the game completely because he thinks he’s about to die anyway. his game play style didn’t really mesh well with the people who are very good at games and they figured why let him play if he was only going to die or bring his team down.

like all us lonely, ostracized folks who wanna share a space with people who share like interests, he turned to the internet ! at first, he started uploading on youtube and streaming to get better. he was looking for tips, and hoping others would reach out to help him out but what he found was actual a community of people who liked that he just enjoyed the game for what it was without worrying about being the best. he had created a space for players of any level to just have fun and not have to worry about the pretentious ridicule from others in the community.

after having that realization he completely embraced the brand he unintentionally created and the upward success. his parents are super proud of him and brag about his career all the time. of course, he’s insanely active on social media always posting but he’s especially active in his discord servers and in the comments of his posts because he really does love engaging with his community. he loves collaborating with smaller creators and pushing the notion that gaming should be fun and relaxing. and never cruel.

60 Years of Doctor Who Anniversary Marathon - Martin: 8th Review

Doctor Who Island in Fortnite - Video Game

So over the weekend, my nephew taught me how to play Fortnite. An online multiplayer game that primarily focuses on third person shooting and hosts various games/events based around that core game play. It's mostly Free To Play, with in games purchases primarily being cosmetic additions. This means, a complete noob like myself can jump right in and potentially win without paying anything. However, there is a steep learning curve and lots of stuff to memorize in order to become good. Just to briefly go over the basics, in Fornite you have a battle royale type mode, which to my knowledge is the most popular way to play the game, and in it you run around collecting better guns and equipment to try and off your opponents. Last man standing wins. You get a pick axe to break things, and a build button to make a shield/fort with, a glider to help you navigate the map, and items you find can included weapons, support/healing articles, and even vehicles to traverse the over-world with. Said over-world will start to shrink over time, forcing players towards the center of the map. This way you can't just hide away till everyone else bumps everyone else off for you. I'm mean you can, potentially, but you have to still be on the move while doing so. You can't remain in one place without dying. From there other modes build off this core concept; like creative/build mode, team play, and collect-a-thons ect. For the the purposes of this review however I'll only focus on the modes for the Doctor Who DLC. 

The first mode is "Creative". It's a simple quest adventure where you collect crystals to fix the TARDIS with. You only need five crystals and there are multiple challenges that will give you such key items. Everything from simple quizzes, collecting things for NPCs, to easy platforming puzzles. It's not a very hard mode, and at the end of the quest you get a little cosmetic tattoo for your character. It would be my favorite mode if it wasn't for one very big problem. It's laggy as hell. The game ran fine in any other mode, both off and on the Doctor Who Island, but this one quest constantly kept freezing up on us. What should have been a quick 15 to 20 min. game turned into an hour slog of constant restarts.

The other three modes played a lot smother. First was Box Battle. All players are trapped in a single room with nothing but pre-assigned guns and the build button. The object of the game is to kill your opponents before they can kill you, while building mazes and forts to protect yourself. It's lasts for 10 short rounds and the person at the end with the most kills wins. This was my nephew's favorite mode, mainly because he kept beating me. I was less enthused, but that was nothing to do with the way the game played, and eveything to do with my lack of experiance and my dislike of the controls set up... which can be changed, but I just don't know how to yet. I will give the visuals prasie here though. Setting the box battle inside a giant Kerblam delivery box is inspired. 

Then there was the war mode. You either fought with the Daleks or the Timelords in a closed battle arena. Teams are chosen by the game, you don't get to pick, and each team has access to the same weapons sets, but you get to choose what you want from the selections on offer. This probably would have been a really fun mode with a large group of people, but sadly no one was playing but us two. We also couldn't figure out how to 'win/end' the game as there was no timer and you respawned when you died.  We finally agreed when we were ready to quit that my nephew won again as he had the most kills.
