Also how to waste a chance to talk about Seishirou's hand fetish? Actually it's Seishirou's obsessiveness and possessiveness showing because he's so obsessed with Subaru's hands because that's where his marks are. In his mind, Subaru is his prey; is object that belongs to him. Seishirou might deny it all he wants it, but he sees Subaru as 'special' on simple basic that he made the bet in the first place. Noone else is marked by Sakurazukamori's marks nor was spared death for that long. Nor does Seishirou view anyone else as his prey; as his. Messed up and distorted way of being special yes, but from the man that views emotional connection and love as weakness nothing better could be expected.

In a way, it could be said Seishirou lost the bet the moment he made it. If we go by definition of him viewing Subaru as 'different from the rest'

How Seishirou manages to look equally tender and sadistic, it's actually a very good metaphor for mixed picture Subaru has of him. For a year he was nothing but compassionate and kind to Subaru, created picture of kindness and safety. And then in span of couple minutes all of that came crashing down. Psychological trauma of this kind is deeply scaring as victim cannot tell what was real and what wasn't. Ofc when retrospecting, Subaru would be foolish to say Seishirou showed him true face during bet; but discarding all of that as pretense and lie wouldn't be the full truth either (from reader's perspective). So whilst Subaru probably discarded it all as him being fooled, we as readers are left in confusion

I feel like if i see another comment on ascended astarion video saying that he is cazador 2, i will go insane. It's pro spawn astarion fans all the time. Why can't they just enjoy spawn astarion and leave ascended astarion alone? they somehow find every single ascended astarion video out there and badmouth him and the ascended fans. I see some of the video creators deciding to delete their comments because the creators are so stressed and pissed. I am pro both, but they made me don't want to say i'm pro spawn because i feel like that means i endorse them. The moment i saw them calling ascended astarion cazador 2, i knew it was all delusional or disguised "i am morally righteous person. i'm a good hearted person, so this is not bullying" bs. We know what cazador did to astarion. With everything we know about ascended astarion, how can spawn fans say that he is cazador 2? Do they not understand the implication? They absolutely do not have evidences for that implication. The sheer mental gymnastics they must have gone through to jump to conclusion that ascended astarion is cazador 2 makes me speechless. Do they not understand that cazador is not just another evil guy astarion fought? Cazador 2 absolutely does not just mean evil vampire to astarion. They just couldn't stop at calling ascended astarion evil. They just have to call him cazador 2.

i made a poat abkut this a wjile back, but in my first playthrough I made 2 seperate saves so I could play spawn and ascended side by side, and to my suprise there was very little difference between them. some lines were altered, but he had a lot of the same reactions to things, and, in a romanced astarion, still clearly cared for the player

Your JJK match was actually very obvious. You’re someone who’s laid back and enjoys having fun with the right people. You’re a no BS person so you need someone playful, that can give you space and understand your point of view. That’s why Geto is in my opinion a great match.

I don’t usually give Geto for one reason, he’ll only bother to know you if you’re strong or someone from his past. While he was rather empathetic before his betrayal, his life crisis turned him to be rather cruel and manipulative. In result befriending him becomes difficult, you’ll need some mental gymnastics once he starts becoming genocidal….Let’s hope being morally grey helps it. That’s all for the realistic and depressive part of the relationship with geto so let’s get down to business shall we?

I also usually believes in friends before lovers so it’s a good thing tbh. I believe that Geto has flings but to get into a serious relationship you’ll need to befriend him first if you see what I’m getting at. You and Geto got to know each other after Gojo unlocked his technique and started working alone. Geto tried many teammates but seemed to get along with you the best. That’s why you became his non official teammate. It was obvious that you’d become rather close. At first he was put off (but pleased) by your independence and introvert nature. He felt like you would be a tough nut to crack which you were but then you gradually became more laid back. He appreciated you more after that because it was he went back in time when everything was easier and his goal was to have fun. He started to look forward to your missions because spending time with you was a breeze. That’s what made him fall. Having someone who can look after themselves and still be reckless like him? Heck yeah. He confessed rather spontaneously. It was after a fun mission and out of the blue.

Geto is a laid back boyfriend. He gets you and isn’t romantic in the traditional term. Yes he brings you flowers, chocolate and gifts on special occasions but he shows love by getting into your interest and acts of service. He makes missions a little bit easier and is always available if you want to talk. He’s the type of boyfriend to notice your mood from miles away and just brings you your favorite snack with a playful remark. He’s a gentle soul with his lover, especially once he lets his walls down. His favorite dates are on the extreme. He either takes you to explore dangerous places or have a domestic date. He likes to go hiking with you cuz it helps him destress. He also has a goal, to go to every dangerous attraction in each place you go to. Speaking of domestic dates, Geto likes cooking. And you like baking. Your date nights are delicious that’s for sure. They actually happen quite often because each night is a date night with enough determination. He likes unwinding by watching anime with you and playing with your piercings. And he definitely learned skin care from you and Gojo. Enjoy playing with his hair.

One thing Geto learned to carry with him is a first care kit. You’re clumsy and bring bad luck. While it’s funny he doesn’t want you to die cuz unlike Gojo you don’t have infinity shield. He also definitely tried to learn another language besides English (I imagine him trying French and it’d be so funny to hear him use the slangs..). Both of you need your alone time, you two agree on that so there’s absolutely no issue with it. Heck it’s necessary in my opinion I can’t even handle people on a bad day…Personal headcanon but I believe Geto sucks at anything hand related. He can mess up the easiest DIY and his creativity ends at black. He will try for you but it’d be the equivalent of a kid giving you a handmade gift. He really tried to make those aesthetic clay pancake holders but they came out so weird you don’t dare to bring it up again. Actually, you tease him about it and he just decides to carry hello kitty aid bands with him while teasing you about your height. You definitely steal his clothes and he calls you Raccoon. I am not joking but it’s better than monkey. Geto likes to tease you a lot. He even pranks you sometimes! He once messed up your latte and you messed up with his shampoo in return…a peace treaty was made that day. The only banter you two have is about cheese. He’s probably lactose intolerant due to his ethnicity and he calls it smelly. Geto drops it quickly cuz it’s more to mess with you, especially when he refuses to kiss you after you ate cheese.

Frankly, I totally see Geto having a tattoo on his body. Matching tattoos for you two I guess. He also doesn’t mind if your shared house becomes a jungle as long as it’s taken care of.

Your HSR match is...Jing Yuan!

In HSR, Jing Yuan is basically what you look for.  He’s a pretty boy. A playful and independent pretty boy who has all the time in the world for you to accept him. He’s patient and caring to his loved ones.

With his specie I wouldn’t be surprised that a fling for him is a slow burn for us…Just kidding. What I meant is Jing Yuan will definitely wait for you. He’s patient and determined. Once he knows you’re the one he knows. And he’ll have to trust you first before even falling in love.

Let’s be angsty, you reminded Jing Yuan of someone he met in the past. A dear friend who passed away. That’s why we can say that he got to know you purely out of nostalgia. That’s why he wasn’t fazed by your introverted nature and was patient enough for you to open up. After you opened up and showed your playful and troublemaking side, he felt really guilty and slowly let go of that nostalgia to fully focus on you. Having Jing Yuan act himself and stop trying to compare you to someone else really made the two of you closer. Especially when he confessed why he first befriended you. Thankfully you were understanding. Anger is normal in this situation and he completely understands that you might distance yourself after this. It was a long process but he somehow managed to convince you that it’s not the case anymore. That he stayed for all the fun and laughter you bring him. It was an indirect confession from him. To be honest, you and Jing Yuan acted like lovers before officially becoming an item. You two first avaient tester le terrain and then you put on the label.

Jing Yuan is a fun and traditional lover. Yes he’s the type to pamper you with gifts, especially when he’s away on business. He supports all your hobbies and would be happy to fund your lifestyle but understands that you’re independent so he doesn’t propose it. He’s not doing it to be condescending, it’s just his way of showing love. What an old man. Jing Yuan is busy so he believes that leaving things for you is a suitable remplavement till he can spend time with you. His favorite dates include walking in forgotten parts of Luofu and talking with you. He doesn’t mind you being reckless because it actually gets him to loosen up and have fun. Life is trilling when you’re in danger I guess. Fun fact, you two once wore a disguise so you can have fun without anyone recognizing you. It was a very nice day and you still do it from time to time. Jing Yuan also really likes your baking. He sucks at cooking so…Yanqing is very thankful for you. Your house is always lively with your banter. Jing Yuan often wakes up early just so he can admire you while you sleep but shhh.

This old man sucks at video games in general. He’s very good at anything strategy oriented but don’t count on him for pvp or even open world. He’ll try for you so it’s good. Ironically, he’s very lucky in all games. BUT! He’s good at arts and craft. He likes making DIY with you and often tries to make things for you when he’s away. He succeeded at what Geto failed.

Jing Yuan likes how independent you are but still worries for you given how clumsy you are. He insisted on teaching you some self-defense in case you get yourself in trouble and he can’t help. He also likes receiving gifts from you, he often fiddles with them when he can’t see you. He actually loves physical affection that’s why he gets restless when he can’t see you for a while. What a dork.

You and Jing Yuan talk each night, be it while cuddling or over the phone. The conversations are long and he shares his troubles with you. The best moments are when you talk about Luofu history together because he has a lot to share and in many languages. Be it the juicy gossip or the angsty moments. He even speaks about his dear old friend who passed away and explain why you reminded him of them. PS, his lion likes you. Cat people assemble.

Your twst match is...Floyd!

Your Twst match was quite complicated. I hesitated between Jack, Floyd and Jamil. As you can see they all have some flaws you don’t really like that’s why I asked you of it was alright with you. In the end I picked Floyd because Jamil has a lot of fake people pleasing behavior and hates being made aware of it. Meanwhile Floyd is fully aware and doesn’t care.

At first, Floyd didn’t notice you at all. You’re an introvert who’s content with their cycle of friends, plus you’re not in his vicinity. He caught wind of you when you got into trouble and used your smart to get away with it. You didn’t get away from his eye and he started bothering you like he bothers Riddle. You can’t blame him, you made him curious! Your behavior surprised him and he has to know more. You called him out but he wasn’t fazed, Floyd just wants to have fun. It was only once you relented and gave him a chance that he calmed down a little. He spent more time with you and encouraged you to be even more mischievous if we can say. And you somehow managed to tame him a little cuz he got into less trouble (with you around he even accepted to just watch anime, draw and you got him into video games). It was Jade who notified him of the changes which made Floyd self-reflect. You ever got a 6’4 super strong eel run at you to proclaim his love? He’s determined and willing to wait for you…good luck. Hey it’s coming from a good place.

Floyd is a….peculiar? boyfriend. He’s very moody, clingy and has room for more growth. You can’t say he’s hot headed, he’s…spontaneous. I believe that Floyd lives life as it is. He does what makes him happy without much a second thought. It does hurt some people in the long run but believe it or not he tries to make it better. He knows he won’t always get away with it that’s why he’s getting better at controlling himself I guess? Your presence definitely helps with this because he takes exemple of you. Floyd now thinks through more of his actions to avoid unnecessary drama. Octavinelle thanks you for this. He acknowledge that he’s a bit clingy towards you but thankfully you love physical touch. Floyd also needs his space on bad days that’s why he let you have alone time when you want. But you have to tell him or he’ll think you’re just teasing him.

Floyd shows his love through acts and physical affection. He’s very big onto PDA and genuinely believes that giving you guard dog privileges is actually a sign of love. Oh and he also brings you random trinkets he made, or bought (he buys you high quality shoes for your birthday since his father said that shoes are important and you have to get good quality to be perceived well). When I said made, it’s cuz I believe Floyd is very good at DIY. His attention spawn is short and as shown in the game he’s good at anything if he puts his mind to it. I can totally see him building something for you out of the blue because he feels like it. He also makes sure to always stock up your favorite foods and bring you a free latte from the lounge each morning (he wants your sweets in exchange). Floyd loooves being with you in the kitchen cuz it always turns into a little food war! You still get to eat delicious food in the end and he gets to tease Azul with your delicious baking (he’s dieting leave him alone).

Dates with Floyd are spontaneous. If you want something planned you better organize it because he’s the type to just grab your hand and go on an adventure. He promised that you two would explore the whole sea together one day and is planning to keep this promise, he even keeps a journal with all the places you visited so he can keep track. In exchange, he wants you to show him all activities you two adrenaline junkies can enjoy. It’s a win win. At home, he wants nothing more than to cuddle and watch animes/movies with you while snacking. He also likes playing video games with you (he once missed revising for a test cuz he was playing all night. Azul wasn’t happy with both of you but jade found it funny). Fun fact, you and Jade get along due to your interest in hiking and plants. While Floyd joins you for hiking he is absolutely ready to shove his brother off the cliff if he continues talking about mushrooms. At least you got a terrarium gifted by Jade I guess.

After Floyd saw your piercings, he was determined to get one and he did (probably a nose then tongue one but he takes them off often). He also wants to get a tattoo but doesn’t know what or where (and if it’ll appear well on his merform). I headcanon that Floyd and jade are polylingual due to their upbringing so you two definitely can have fun with that. Heck he might even be willing to learn a new language so you two can talk shit about people without them understanding. Speaking of talking shit…Floyd has all the tea curtesy of Jade and Azul. He’ll share everything. In general, a relationship with Floyd is very playful but also requires patience because as I said he has a lot of room for self-growth in certain aspects that can be perceived as childish by some.

I just don’t understand what kinds of mental gymnastics are required to continuously claim that nobody tries to teach or help you when I know for a fact I’ve tried my entire life to give them good advice that they never listened to and actively ignored or even yelled at me for giving them. Shigaraki Tomura - MY HERO ACADEMIA

“What I really despise is everything. Everything that breathes pisses me off.”

I like how Shigaraki is severely mentally ill. He’s one of the most raw portrayals of an abuse victim.  He murders his abusive father, and the story takes his side. He develops violent tendencies, he refuses to grow up, he can’t forgive. He’s just holding all of his negative feelings inside of him as he slowly rots inside out, and that’s just great.

Shigaraki is so shaped and moulded by his abuse, but he still chooses who he wants to be. He was literally raised in a basement to be a carbon copy of AFO, and yet he’s so different from AFO it’s obvious he could never live up to his Sensei. He’s too bad of a person to ever be a hero, but he’s also too good of a person to ever be the king of evil and what you get is this really chaotic mess in between.

It’s interested to see who Shigaraki chooses to be, in spite of how much he has been indoctrinated towards a cause and how many choices are taken away from him. Despite being a character with supposedly little agency you can see he always tries to fight for his own agency. Don’t deny me. He can’t be with his family even though he loves them, because they’ll never accept him for who he is. Tenko was a kind boy who played with the bullied kids. Shigaraki fights for the people who would never be saved by hero society because he wasn’t saved. He gives them what he doesn’t have, freedom and a place to belong. It’s an interesting character to see how much of him has become the unpredictable ball of trauma that Shigaraki is, while the core of him Tenko still remains in his humanizing moments of how he interacts with the league. Shigaraki who has so many choices taken from him, chooses to reach out and sympathize with the feelings of others, especially those who have been ostracized the same way he has.

Shigaraki is introduced to us as an inhuman  monster, and we see him slowly work his way back from the edge. We see him regain his humanity by coming to care about the people under his wing. It gives you the message that there’s no such thing as a point of no return.

All of the heroes are good people in mha but that feels more like an informed character trait. We’re supposed to root for them because… they’re the heroes, they’re good. They have to look good because they’re the good guys. Shigaraki is allowed to be ugly and unlikable, he gets worse.  But then he still always chooses to fight for ugly victims like him. I like both sides of him, I like the volatile explosive bomb that just wants to blow up and destroy others, and the gentle way he interacts with the rest of the league.

Kumagawa Misogi - MEDAKA BOX

“I want to beat them. Even though I’m not cool, or strong, or just, or beautiful, or cute, or pretty, I want to beat the cool strong just beautiful cute and pretty people.”

Kumagawa is aggressively mediocre. He’s a good for nothing.  He’s like the embodiment of a bad victim,  he blames everyone else, he lashes out. He has nothing but flaws but he still strives to be better than what he is. That’s what so inspiring about his character. Even if you’re miserable it doesn’t mean you have to be having a miserable time about it. Kumagawa will push back against anything, even if the whole world is pushing down on his shoulders.

He has a vibe with his character that even if you’re the worst person in the world don’t run away from who you are. You have to accept yourself exactly as you are without lies or artifice before you can start to improve.  That’s why kumagawa tries to accept the ugliness of people.

He’s very sympathetic with other people, but that isn’t there to make him look like a good person. If anything he always sympathizes with the victim too much and encourages their worst qualities.  At the beginning of the series hes so desperate to heal the wounds of these traumatized, people he’s taken in he just encourages them to lash out because that’s something. Kumagawa is just this very nihilistic, and fatalist character who is somehow at the same time one of the most optimistic characters ever written. He’s a lazy good for nothing, but he tries hard. He’s fickle and childish, but he never gives up. He might never get better, he might always lose in the end, but he still thinks the struggle to win is always inherently worth it. He gives all of himself in everything he does, and to the people around him. And he always gets hurt because of it, but that pain is just living.

He’s completely insane but he’s also living his life the best way he can. There’s just such a manic, insane, and positive energy to his character. Kumagawa will accept you at your worst, and yet he’ll still encourage you to be better. I also like characters written to represent the ugliness in people, and striving to find beauty in that ugliness rather than characters who are just happy all the time because they’re good people.

Natsuki Subaru - RE ZERO

like how Subaru is a shitty person but not in a really interesting way,  but in a really petty, self absorbed and weak way. I like it because the world doesn’t tolerate his bs, he is continually punished and kicked in the teeth for it. He doesn’t have a tragic backstory before the story begins. His tragic backstory is that he did nothing, made nothing of his life, but he still feels entitled and expects to be rewarded. There’s nothing special about him, but he wants to be treated like he’s special.

I’m usually protagonist-phobic because most stories center around the main character so a lot of the time the world bends to their whims in unnatural ways. Subaru is the main character, but hes not the protagonist, and not even particularly important which is why he’s valid.

Subaru is continually  punished for his mistakes and I love the way we see how trauma changes him and shapes him.  His narrative  reads to me as a metaphor for a mentally ill person with the absolute worst habits constantly struggling to be better despite constant backtracking. That’s why with the constant resets in his narrative, none of his actions ever seem to matter. Even when he makes progress he loses it just as quickly, and the world seems indifferent to his suffering. Because the stroy isn’t actually about the world, it’s about Subaru’s personal journey to learn to be a less shitty person.

Subaru is confronted with the fact that hes a very self important and entitled person and he chooses to grow from that rather than run away. He’s so self aware by this point he knows hes the most annoying human on earth and he owns it.

Doma - KIMETSU NO YAIBA

“From a young age I was kind and clever. I always helped people and made them happy, because that was my mission.”

Doma’s story is hard to empathize with because it doesn’t really look tragic. It’s more like a comedy. He’s smiling the whole way through.

Doma feels like an inhuman monster and he chooses to act that way. Literally everything in this story just tells you he was basically born that way. Doma tells you himself. But like, if you look into his background he was raised in a literal cult. Doma despises the cult, because he could see through it. He could see the adults were using him even as a child. But at the same time Doma’s heart has never really left the cult either. Doma, like everybody else, unintentionally reflects the environment he grew up in.

Doma’s just never been shown real tears or a real smile, so he doesn’t know it. He sees his parents kill each other in front of them, and feels nothing, because they literally never acted like parents to him once. He sees life as empty because to him, it is. And then.

By the time he encounters the real thing it’s too late for him. I just like this part of Doma that’s like, emptily trying to imitate all the other humans around him, and feel the things they feel, and always falling short because of his jacked up sense of empathy. It’s adorable.   Doma doesn’t feel human at all. He couldn’t possibly understand what a normal human being feels because he’s never lived that life. He’s a total human failure. Rather than try to be something he feels like he’s not, he decides to embrace his inhumanity.

Iichan - ZAREGOTO

“Nonsense.”

Iichan is a character who doesn’t want to choose, but wants to be chosen regardless. In other words Iichan has a paradoxical way of thinking about his life. He’s not the main character. He’s not important. So therefore, whatever happens around him he’s not at fault. However, he is the centerpiece of a tragedy. He’s still important in the sense that all of this tragic suffering is being unleashed upon him. Being the main character of the tragedy means his suffering is important and meaningful, but none of it is ever his fault, and he can’t help it.

That way he avoids ever having to take responsiblity for his actions, or do the hard work of trying to change as a person. He’s a narcicisst, but he hates himself, and he tries to balance out his total egoism by constantly playing up his own suffering and how much he loathes himself. That’s where the main character of the tragedy complex comes in.

What’s interesting about Iichan is that for all the tricks and avoidance he goes through, he’s very self aware as a character. He knows how deficient he is in comparison to others and how his problems really aren’t as important in the grand scheme of things. That’s why it’s interesting to watch all the mental gymnastics he goes through.

Knowing that the author also knows that Iichan is a tool, and clearly frames him as such, I can appreciate the more positive parts of his character. I can know that deep down, despite everything he does want to become a person that’s capable of making the other people in his life happy. He just doesn’t know how.

Hitoshiki Zerozaki - NINGEN

“What a riot.”

Iichan’s equal and opposite force. His boy on the other side of the mirror. What if your reflection in the mirror could talk, and what if it was laughing at you? That’s basically Zerozaki’s character in a nutshell.

Iichan is a character who dwells on his intense mediocrity and desires to be special because of it. Zerozaki is the opposite, he’s been special all of his life and has no idea what a normal life is even like.

Zerozaki is a murderer from a family of murderers and yet he doesn’t enjoy murder. He doesn’t feel its evil or feel a lot of remorse. He feels nothing at all about killing,  he thinks people who kill for pleasure are weird, and kills at random.

What I like about Zerozaki is that he’s way more human and down to earth than his perfect foil iichan even though he’s a murderer. Despite being a psycho killer he makes connections with other killers, his little sister, and ninoumiya. A human failure who’s way too human, and that somehow makes him even more of a failure.

Emiya Shirou / Heroic Spirit Emiya - FATE / STAY NIGHT.

“So as I pray. Unlimited Blade Works.”

Counterfeit. Hypocrite. Holy shit. A fake who knows that his desire to save people doesn’t come from the goodness of his heart, but his own selfish desire to be a hero. Shirou emiya is the only valid protagonist, because he’s an extremely traumatized deconstruction of every protagonist before him. Shirou’s not a good person. Shirou’s barely even a person. He has friends but he doesn’t really feel like he deserves to have them. He smiles, but he doesn’t mean it.

I love how Shirou is so terrible at handling his own trauma that he thinks having a strong sense of justice is a personality.  I love how Shirous need to sacrifice himself makes him an idiot and is something his narrative continually gruesomely punishes. He has one of the most brutal narratives ever, and the writing behind his character serves to highlight how Shirou’s bad decision making not only hurts himself, but literally everybody around him.

I love how Shirou has completely emptied out as a person and feels unable to feel basic emotions because its totally relatable.  He just copes so poorly, but at the same time there’s something beautiful in Shirous struggle to be a good person. Shirou has completely given up on himself as a person, but he still wants to help other people, and so he keeps trying.

Getou Suguru - JUJUTSU KAISEN

“I hate monkeys.”

Some villains just want to destroy everything for reasons deeply rooted to emotional trauma. I feel like I’m repeating myself here.

I like characters where empathy is a dangerous quality to have. Getou is driven to villainy because he cares, overwhelmingly so. He cares about people’s individual agency and freedom and rights to be happy and sees the world stomp on it. His breaking point was that he wanted a girl who had been raised as a literal human sacrifice for the system her entire life to be able to live out the rest of her life free as a person, and being completely powerless and unable to help her as she was killed. Getou was struck in that moment by the inherent unfairness in the world and it broke him.

Empathy is such a debilitating flaw for Getou that he literally has to decide certain people  are human and disqualify others from being human so his brain doesn’t completely break. Being a decent caring guy in Getous world breaks you.

Getou tries so hard not to care,  to be the maniacal laughing villain he claims to be, but his empathy is the one part of his brain he can never shut off. Even as the most hated man in the world he protects weak and exploited people and takes them in as a family. He does everything he does to make a better world for the people he cares about, and that’s why he’s so broken because the ones he doesn’t care about he’s completely fine with sacrificing en masse.

Akechi Goro - PERSONA 5

“JUSTICE?! RIGHTEOUS?! KEEP THAT SHIT TO YOURSELVES! YOU AND YOUR TEAMMATES PISS ME OFF!!”

I like Goro way more for his potential rather than what we see in canon, but there’s a lot of strong ideas his character is written with. I love the idea that Goro wants to be a good person, wants to be connected to others, but is far too dmaged and because of that

He can only pretend to be a good person and play people pleaser to others. he’s someone who desires at the core of his being to be righteous, and failing that he becomes self-righteous instead. I just love how thoroughly fake he is as a person, and how that makes him covet the real thing.

I also love the insane, twisted and obsessive part of Akechi. I love how much he hates the world for rejecting him, and how much of his actions are just petty revenge on the world, his father, every single person who rejected him. I love him when he’s at his most desperate, when he’s screaming at the people he’s trying to kill asking them why nobody wants him around even though he’s famous and popular.

Ogata Hyakunosuke - GOLDEN KAMUY

Walk your own wild path. Straight and true.

Ogata is a character that is somehow incredibly complex and nuanced character with tons of carefully written development in story, and also a character you have no fucking clue what’s going on in his head. Basically, Ogata is a masterpiece.

Ogata feels like the other half of the story. Sugimoto acts,  Ogata reacts.  Sugimoto chases, Ogata evades.  We are uncomfortably deep in Sugimotos head, but we only catch brief glimpses of Ogatas moments of Frank honesty. The entire story is about Sugimoto and Ogata chaisng after each other and everything else seems incidental sometime. Ogata’s not the main character, but he’s the other half of the heart of the narrative that’s about these really, really bad murderous men who are deeply broken trying to find a way to live in a world without war.

Its not that Ogata is unfeeling it’s that he never allows himself to feel. What other characters lost during the war, Ogata never had in the first place. He sees himself as deformed and malnourished compared to everybody else. Ogatas always been noticing the difference between - himself and others.Even if he wanted to love his brother he kept comparing himself to his father’s beloved son, and realizing how much he lacked. He just kept being reminded over and over again what a child who was loved could have turned out as.  Eventually Ogata convinced himself he was unfeeling. Because somehow that’s easier. He can process everything that happened in his life if he’s detached from it all watching from a tree somewhere.  He’s so repressed he doesn’t allow himself to feel guilt about his brothers death because he doesn’t view himself as a person capable of loving another. However, just like Sugis desire is to be saved from the hell of war deep down theres a kid in Ogata who wanted to be a good son

Ogata is basically my main point of investment in Golden Kamuy, I just want to see him unravel like a big ball of yarn.

Yes and that's actually why I prefer non popular fandoms. I used to be in naruto fandom, more specifically sns ship subfandom and I lasted there for couple months before I actually started disliking the ship. Solely based on association with how vile fandom was.

Countless shipwars, top vs bottom discourses in holy year of 2022, attacking other ships, making analysis posts full of bias and mental gymnastic, countless antis (look, I don't even ship naruhina or sasusaku, but the hate those ships got under pretense of "criticism" created negative energy in fandom; ffs some sns shippers use sasusaku as a slur :/), attacking artits and fanfic writers within fandom for bs, demanding everything is IC and making callout posts for anyone interpreting characters in OOC way and so on.

Last straw for me was when I saw some anon being attacked for saying they personally see nothing romantic between sasuke and naruto but get why people ship them. I sort of tried to defend that person by saying "hey, ship isn't explicitly stated as canon, it's up for interpretation and someone seeing it as platonic or QPR isn't necessarily a homophobe or ass too deep in their heteronormative mindset" - and OP wrote few k long post how I lack critical thinking ability, am causing oppression for gay men irl (hello???), may not be homophobic but should reevaluate why I don't see sns as romantic and basically told me I have my ass too deep in heteronormativity if I can't see "uwu best love story ever written"

So yes, I was so done with sns fandom after that. I doubt other parts of naruto fandom are any better tbh.

Beside that cursed fandom I tend to avoid bsd fandom nowadays since it's swamped by younger fans, more precisely tiktokers. I liked it back in 2016-2017 when it was less popular, but fandom got too fluffy, shipy and dictating for my liking. Also the way characters get misinterpreted makes me cringe so much

ang0mang0′s “copycat” claims

I didn’t want to have to make another post about this, but since people on sonicfan799 / thatAnge / @ang0mang0′s Tumblr profile are getting riled up about this ridiculous drama that should have died ages ago, I figured I’d defend myself. Some people who are trying to support me have been saying incorrect things too, so I also wanted to clear that up. This crap has been going on for months, everyone is sick of it by now. Instead of being brief like I did for other social medias, I’ll be as detailed as possible this time.

[1] “she’s copying/imitating/heavily referencing from my art style!!!”

Like people have said a million times, no I’m not. And nor is anyone else. Just because someone draws the Sonic characters in a similar style to you does not automatically mean they took, copied or “stole” those ideas from you. You don’t own the concept of buff, fluffy bodies or chubby muzzles. COINCIDENCE, as much as you hopelessly deny it, is very much a possible thing- even in crazy situations such as this. There are several other artists who have similar art styles by mere coincidence. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. As examples, these Instagram artists have similar styles: @ azulytoons and @ indigonite0 / @ magenta_mel and @ zer0finix / @ himemikal and @ natirix. NONE of these artists are “stealing” or referencing from each other- they just have similar art styles, and that is perfectly okay! They draw completely different things with completely different mindsets. The world does not revolve around you, ang0. Not everyone knows who you are, so some people who use the same traits that we do don’t even know we exist.

Also, to anyone unaware, an art STYLE is not merely how one chooses to portray a character. An art STYLE is also what brushes you use, how you sketch, how you line, how you colour, how you shade, how you choose to portray certain objects or ideas- basically your entire fucking understanding of how something’s supposed to look and how you LIKE it to look. It’s not just “chubby faces, poofy curly hair, buff bodies”. It’s everything in a piece AND that.

[2] “she’s tracing my art/ redrawing my ideas!”

Literally no. People have constantly asked you to provide evidence and you refused to. All you did was scream “but it’s so obvious, just look at it!” or “are you dumb? use your eyes!” and several other insults. If you want to prove a point or make someone see something, GIVE. EVIDENCE. The only person who actually provided “proof” was pin_kpeach, your ever so loyal whiteknight, but her “proof” only backfired and proved that the both of you are extremely delusional. In the drawings of ours that she layered over each other, next to NONE of the lines lined up. It looked like a clustered mess of scrap, and the reason for that is because IT WASN’T TRACED. In the one or two drawings where ONE. SINGLE. PIECE. actually lined up was entirely zoomed in to make it seem as though the whole thing was traced. No, honey, that’s not how you provide proof. That’s how you pull a muscle by reaching so desperately to lie about me. The rest of the drawings in those pictures didn’t line up at all, and one- or I believe both- needed to be titled to line them up in the first place. You could say that some people trace things and resize or rotate them, but if I were as dumb as you persist to say, then I wouldn’t have done something like that. Either way, one aspect of a drawing lining up is a common thing for people who have similar styles because- well, I just said it. THEY HAVE SIMILAR STYLES. If they draw something the same way, well fucking duh, it’ll match someone else’s drawing almost exactly sometimes.

Ahaha no. The only one here with an inflated ego is you, ang0. You call me the egotistical one yet you act as though your life is falling apart just because someone else draws like you on the internet. Why should I credit someone who’s had absolutely no impact on my work whatsoever? What in the hell did you do for my drawings that makes you deserve so much credit? Did you sketch it? No. Did you line it? Nope. Did you colour or shade it? Not a chance. Just because I came up with a design for the characters that happens to look like yours does not mean I owe you jack shit. You cannot. own. a style. Get over it.

You’re making yourself feel horrible because you, for some paranormal reason, refuse to believe that you’re not the only one with that kind of style. This is why people call you childish, you’re like a whiny baby that can’t accept another child having a toy similar to yours. I can’t even decide whether I should say “grow up” because you’re older than me- not to mention you’re an ADULT.

All I wanted to do was talk things out but at this point, you don’t even take me seriously, so I can’t even try anymore. If she really was sorry, she wouldn’t have done it again, but I guess she said “fuck it” and just continued anyway. Pin_kpeach likes to say I’M the hypocrite for saying Ange is harassing me yet being rude to her a couple times, yet they do they exact same thing, but even worse?? I try my best to be as civil as possible, but ang0 and pink don’t waste a second calling me and my supporters all sorts of colourful names just because they don’t agree with her claims. In fact, here’s a list of every single thing ang0’s ever called me:

Ange and pink act as if two people drawing a character in the same outfit automatically equals “du bist kopying mein style!!”. I can’t even begin to imagine the mental gymnastics you need to do in order to believe a thought process like that is logical. She thinks that anyone who draws Amy in a dress with a white under-skirt or white ruffles underneath is nothing but a copied idea from her. She thinks that me drawing Amy in a green tank top, blue backwards cap and blue sports shorts is copying her drawing of Amy in a green unidentifiable top (you could only see her back, she didn’t seem to have straps) and blue sports shorts with a slightly different design is automatically copied from her. The poses, shading, angle and idea behind the drawing were COMPLETELY different- but nonono, “this is stolen because the outfit is the same!” They also use the excuse of the whole chubby faces, curly hair, blah blah blah- see point [1] as to why that’s BS.

Aside from Koro, I don’t know if anyone has seriously threatened or harassed her. Her followers comment on my posts, my followers only comment when she brings up the drama or whines about it. She insults my supporters when they don’t agree with her and act like they’re a bunch of immature brats who are wrong while she’s the high and mighty mature one seeing through non-existent lies. I’m used to her making fun of me, but I’m sick and tired of her insulting people who have nothing to do with the drama just because they don’t agree with her. Like, seriously? You call everyone immature and stupid yet you’re the one insulting people non-stop just because they realize how ridiculous and childish you’re acting. That’s why “childish” has become a popular adjective for you, ang0. BECAUSE YOU’RE BEING CHILDISH. CONSTANTLY. You get pissy, insult others and put people down but whine and cry the next minute because you constantly like to play the victim. Speaking of which...

I have absolutely no idea what ang0 goes through in real life, but there is no excuse for how she’s behaved during this drama AT ALL. Ange constantly defames her own artwork, calling it shit, calling it every bad name in the book, but doesn’t hesitate for a minute to gatekeep her style as if it was the best thing in the world. She says it’s because she “worked her ass off” and doesn’t want people just stealing her hard work. Okay, but you do realize that other people put just as much work into their own art, no matter if it looks like yours or not, right? She demands that people change their style to stop looking like hers, acting as if that can be done in a matter of minutes, because people having similar styles makes her uncomfortable. Well, surprise motherfucker- welcome to the internet. No one is original and everyone is original at the same time. People are bound to come up with similar ideas and you’re just going to have to deal with it. But despite the similarities, people are still original in their own right. If you believe that people can change a style so easily, why not just change your OWN style? Because you worked your ass off? Well, THEY WORKED THEIR ASS OFF TOO. So don’t act like you’re the only one who’s put effort into their craft. Art is hard, and that applies to EVERYONE- even professionals.

You blame me and other “copycats” for all your problems, blaming us for worsening your depression, ruining your passion for art- when you’re the only one who does this to yourself. Yes, there have been genuine art thieves in your life, and people who have stolen your art- but what I’m talking about are the people like me who DON’T steal your art or are merely inspired by you. People who say “you should be happy they’re inspired!” aren’t saying “you should be happy they’re copying!”. They’re saying that you should be glad that your work is so inspiring that people create their own unique ideas based off your own. Inspiration doesn’t require credit unless they’re purposefully taking a massive part of the original. But being inspired by a hair style or even a pose isn’t stealing. It’s inspiration, that’s it. I’m not inspired by you at all, but I can at least appreciate your art- even if you think I’m just being fake.

[11] ang0mang0′s history and why this shit doesn’t even make sense

Ange has said publicly and to me in detail about how she’s been accused of the same “art style theft” in the past. From what I’ve gathered or heard, people used to accuse her of copying a popular artist called myly14 who’s Sonic art is pretty much everywhere. Whether it be in edits, MVs or whatever else.  Looking at her old art when she went under the name sonicfan799, her art does look similar to myly’s, but ang0 insisted that she didn’t copy myly and didn’t even know who she was. She legit said “it’s not my fault my art looks like someone else’s”, so basically- it was coincidence. She said she changed her art style because she “isn’t an asshole and didn’t want to make the other artist uncomfortable”, even though art style theft isn’t a thing and no one needs to be forced out of a style just because someone else already draws that way. I have no idea what myly’s stance on that situation was, but the fact that it happened just proves how stupid her current claims are.

Ange says that her style is “too complex” to be coincidentally similar to someone else’s, even though the fact that it’s happened 30 times (according to her) just proves that no, ang0, no it fucking isn’t. Your style isn’t complicated at all. Detailed sure, but no style is too complicated to be similar to another’s. Being complex doesn’t make something any less likely to be identical to another complex style.If you didn’t copy myly14 in the past, what right do you have to accuse me of the same damn thing? If I really am copying you, then you have to admit to copying myly, because you can’t just lie about your past and then shit on me for doing the same thing. So it’s either you stop this nonsense or you drag this drama down with you to your grave and admit you copied myly14.

Another thing, myly14 didn’t even have a “simple” style. The fact that her art was almost instantly recognizable and popular meant that she had a signature style that stood out. Yes, she used a lot of the original Sonic style’s anatomy, but her stylization of said anatomy, her shading and the way she composed her pieces gave her a signature style. The most stylized thing I could see was how she drew muzzles, and guess who drew muzzles in a similar way as well? You did. People saw how your way of drawing faces and some parts of the body and thought it looked liked myly’s. The similarities in your anatomy, and not your shading or colouring, was what made people think you copied her. That exact same thing is happening between me and you. My shading, colouring and composition is entirely different from yours, but some parts of the anatomy are similar.

If you really didn’t copy myly14, you have absolutely no. fucking. excuse. to accuse me of the EXACT. SAME. SHIT. that happened to you.

You never needed or deserved to be pressured out of your old style just because people thought it looked similar to someone else’s, and that’s why I refuse to change my style now. Because it isn’t. fucking. fair. To ANYONE.

At this point I've grown used to what she has to say, but it still hurts. She thinks that I'm some kind of cartoon villain maniacally laughing behind a computer screen every time I post something because she's so deep into her belief that I really copy everything she draws and that nothing I've never posted has any true effort put into it. She genuinely believes she owns all my art and that I devote my entire gallery into recreating her image or some crazy shit like that. It sounds really dumb, but from what I've read from her poorly constructed comments and rants, that's basically what she believes.

She thinks I don't care at all about how all this affects her or anyone at all, but I do. It doesn't just hurt me in the sense that she makes me feel awful with all her insults, but I just feel so bad for her. I feel guilty in the sense that I couldn't do anything at all to help her, not that "shes prolly feeling guilty and made that april fools joke to let out some guilt!!". (If you don’t know, on April Fools Day, I changed my Instagram bio to say “clown” and call myself “the ultimate copycat” as a joke.) That was a really stupid reaction from her by the way... who the hell comes up with that? Now that she's going away for a month, I feel even worse because all I wanted to do was try to make her come to her senses and end this mess. I thought I could talk some sense into her- that didn't work. Her delusions are so strong, she's like a brick wall. I thought I could ignore the drama- that didn't work. She "clowns" and talks about it so annoyingly often. Not to mention people do things on their own to stir shit up. I thought I could support her regardless and maybe try making her feel better about her art- that didn't work. She thinks I'm fake and that everything I say is a lie. Because of me, she probably doesn't believe other people too- and that makes me feel even more terrible.

No matter what I do, I'm automatically the villain and she's the tortured, helpless artist that everyone is against because "everyone is dumb, supporting a copycat" and she's just "used to it, because she's dealt with so much shit already!". It's so ridiculous. If she would just try to actually better herself or the situation, she wouldn't feel so horrible all the time. Like... for god's sake, she relied on a video game to make her happy- that's not healthy, and just like I suspected, it didn't fucking work.

Because of ang0, I just feel like garbage. My self esteem and confidence in my art was already low. Thanks to her, I don’t feel original (or as original) anymore- and I’m afraid to show many of my new or old ideas because she or her whiteknight pin_kpeach may spring out and say “copycat! stolen! you’re not original!” and a plethora of other insults. I can barely sketch or draw Sonic content without panicking and feeling worthless because all I have is her words and her opinions stuck in my head. She blames me for her demotivation and shit like that when she’s done the same thing to me. She thinks I don’t care about her or her art, when I do, but when I say that, she calls me fake. In reality, ang0 couldn’t give a damn about me and I’m pretty sure she’d be happy if I were dead. She has said before that she doesn’t care if I killed myself soo... there’s that. Anyway lemme not drag my feelings out too long, I just thought I’d say it to anyone willing to listen since her immediate response would’ve been “fake, liar” etc, etc. I really don’t want anyone to feel bad for me or anything like that, I just want people to listen and understand. I’m really thankful- like, REALLY thankful- for everyone who’s been on my side throughout this. I don’t like picking sides, and I’d hate to make people do so, but there doesn’t seem to be any in between to this at all. It’s either you believe I’m copying her or you don’t.  Most people don’t- thank goodness for that- but some do. And there’s nothing I can do about it. At this point, whatever man.

Please please PLEASE do not harass ang0. Don’t threaten her, don’t insult her, don’t do anything rash or fucking illegal. It’s all fair game if you want to POLITELY SPEAK to her, or try to start a discussion, but please don’t do anything stupid. And especially don’t do things in my name. If you want to debate with me or her, do research first- don’t just jump to conclusions or make assumptions.If you want nothing to do with this drama, then simply don’t say anything- just be aware of what’s going on, that’s all I ask. So nobody gets the wrong idea on either side.

I’m sorry you feel the fandom is bringing you down and, yeah, actually, the best thing to do when you’re not enjoying it and feeling stressed is to take a break and go do something you do get enjoyment out of. There’s no obligation to stick around any fandom or keep interacting with people or content if you’re not happy.

Yeah, that side of the fandom is pretty awful and my policy is to block anyone who makes me go ew because they’re just not worth the stress. That’s what I do with the majority of toxic asks I get too because they’re the ones who think they’re owed a public reply to their nasty comments, but I don’t think they’re worth my time, so why give it to them? I do reply by debunking their bs, though, so they got what they wanted in the end, which was a reaction lol

this is the one form of social media i can vent on and be confident no one is gonna find it, it won’t start drama and i can just go the fuck off

i have this ex friend right? really mf toxic, i cut her off last year n shit is all good, right?

anyways, last week i found out she has been consistently posting abt me on her tik tok, just indirects, since aT LEAST may, probably longer. and i told her the fuck off, made my own shit behind “obsessed” by mariah carrey, after some comments back n forth, the whole incident is said n done, she blocks me. ok cool

here i am, finding out the bitch is *still* making indirects. its a lil less obvious, so of course there’s the possibility it’s not me but knowing the situation im p sure it is-- the caption was like “if you side w someone because they’re crying but dont care about what they did, i hate you” or something like that. and im just at my wits end dude,, (a tiny bit of context; our friend group completely left her when i did, n all of them commented on my video + people who were kinda in our friend group but not completely if that makes sense-- one of the kinda in the group ppl commented on her video n she responded “wtf did i ever do to you” so thats why i think the caption has to do w me)

it doesnt make me as anxious as it used to but it makes me angry dude. n the indirects were really fuckin wild. im not tryna explain the situation too much because it was a whole year of verbal/mental abuse that i somewhat tuned out because *trauma*, but she was making wholeass posts abt my relationship. thats what is was, each n every time. 

makes sense bc it was the whole fucking issue when we were friends, but they were straight lies. shit abt how he cheated on me and-- she KNOWS its not true. SHE KNOWS, the whole issue is she was overly involved in my relationship because we were both her best friends.  

the whole reason this incident happened in the first place was because two days before i made my thing calling her out, she posted ANOTHER indirect. idk how many of yall are on tiktok, but it was the trend “introduce yourself as why you and your ex bsf dont talk” and gUeSs wHaT iT SaID?? “i dont like when my friends get cheated on”. its amazing the mental gymnastics she has to go through to feel correct in the situation. AMAZING. making up whole ass events that didnt happen (when we had our lil confrontation she cited him cheating on me when WE WERENT TOGETHER dnkjfheifjoewi)

A while ago, I made a post discussing my thoughts on Nu and Lambda, in it I also described why I personally can’t ship them, even if I also said you could do mental gymnastics to ignore the Saya clone stuff (read it to understand what I mean).

But, they aren’t the only ones to have this issue; What about Noel and Celica, two more MAIN characters who have a similar issue in their storytelling.

I will go into that now, starting with Noel (beware possibly long-ass post)

Noel is one of the main characters, and one of the most important characters in the setting (to many fan’s displeasure), so of course she is highly tied to the MC Ragna, even getting a lot of shippy moments with him. This is in spite of her being a Murakumo.

Now in my Nu and Lambda thing I said that b/c Ars Magus is weird and not an exact science and seem to be made from Saya’s soul not her DNA you could do mental gymnastics to ignore that and make the shipping okay. Could you do that with Noel? I say NO.

Not only is Noel MUCH closer to Saya (seriously put a picture of her next to young Saya from flashbacks and she looks exactly like what she’d grow up to be), but she is also apparently made from the largest chunk of her soul.

The games seem to go along this thought process with her:

Noel is a Murakumo -> Noel is not human -> Noel is a weapon -> cue angst

but the fans have the thought process of

Noel is a Murakumo -> Murakumo Units are clones of Saya -> Saya is Ragna’s sister -> Murakumo Units are clones of Ragna’s sister -> they are Ragna’s sisters.

This gets even more stupid once Izanami comes in and we learn SHE is Saya, not Noel (her being an amnesiac Saya would’ve made things much easier), because then it is like “See, Noel isn’t Saya, THAT’S Saya!”. Also Blazblue has a while thing about roles, like Ragna has ONE little brother and ONE little sister: Jin and Saya, respectively. But fans say he can have multiple little sisters but the story doesn’t because “roles” or whatever (using the weird stage terms that Rachel and Amane use).

Like, here is an idea I had for CS’ plot with more emphasis on Noel actually being Saya rather than just a clone/copy, or at least more focus on her connection with Ragna to HAVE that sibling instead of just taking the “I am not human” thing from the Murakumo:

They escape from the Cauldron at the end of CT, and Ragna now gets a god look at her, maybe he does think that this IS Saya, and you can have a bit of an emotional scene here, but Noel runs off b/c A. she is still shy girl and a MAN is so close to her, and B. this is still the SS-Class Criminal Ragna the Bloodedge. A bit of angst there because Ragna supposedly thought something horrible happened to Saya (based on a flashback in CF with Jubei).

Much, MUCH later, he can meet up with Noel again, before she is kidnapped by Terumi for the final act of being the Godslayer, maybe with Makoto there. This is where they can actually talk and bond for a bit so Ragna has an actual reason to go running off an saving her. This is where Ragna can explain his little sister to the two, maybe thinking that he got Noel confused for Saya since she looks just like her.

But, then they start piecing together everything. Noel has weird memories of Ragna, and she has amnesia from before the destruction of Ibukido after the Ikaruga Civil War. SO, what if Noel IS just an Amnesiac Saya who has trauma induced amnesia from the Ibukido stuff? This is great for Noel because all this time she might also be worried about her humanity after the shit with Nu in CT’s true ending, and maybe a cryptic line from Terumi/Hazama, but now with this information, she reaffirms that she is HUMAN, she has a family (imagine the reaction when she learns that major dickbag Kisaragi is her big brother). We could then maybe cut back to someone watching them cryptically commentating, and when we cut back Noel is in the middle of telling Ragna, her newly re-discovered big brother, about what she’s been up to, her adoptive family and her time at the Military Academy. Maybe here we could also have a gag reel where, like a later one where they try and help Celica improve her sense of direction, Ragna and Noel cook something. We get some fun-sibling time and get to see Ragna’s cooking hobby in semi-canon action. He’d call her Saya, but everyone else calls her Noel since that’s what they know her as (think of it similar to how Vegeta calls Goku by his Sayan name “Kakarot” while everyone else just calls him his Earth name).

THEN we have Terumi come in and kidnap her.

Rachel stops Ragna from running after them for cryptic warning BS, then the fight with Jin, then the fight with Terumi, etc. everything happens the same from there. Only it isn’t some random stranger who Ragna all of a sudden is risking his life for, this is the little sister he lost so long ago.

Then comes the shit with Izanami. One idea that  had was that Noel IS still a Murakumo AND Saya, but she is Saya’s good half fragmented off when Izanami was made. Izanami is one part the Origin’s Drive and one part Saya’s Darkness. So Noel breaking off from Saya is kind of like M.Bison from Street Fighter removing all the good from his soul to use Psycho Power, resulting in Rose.

Then in CP, we can have an extra layer of conflict because Noel is trying to save Tsubaki, who points out that she is affiliated with a wanted criminal, Ragna the Bloodedge. Remember, Noel just wants to be a normal girl with a normal life. She already has the issue of her humanity with being a Murakumo, but then you have the more societal BS of being related to a super criminal. She cannot be “normal girl“ Noel Vermilion, AND friends with Ragna the Bloodedge, SS-Class Criminal at the same time.

Tell me that wouldn’t all be a really good alternative.

Also being able to refer to the three MCs as “The Siblings” is just so much easier.

and then we got Celica A. Mercury.

she flops back and forth between, Ragna’s mom, and Ragna’s love interest.

Celica A. Mercury in Blazblue Chronophantasma, is well, a Chronophantasma. A copy of someone who isn’t supposed to be alive in the current timeline. Specifically, Celica is the younger sister of the Great Sage Nine, one of the Six Heroes who defeated the Black Beast 100 years before the setting of the games. the ORIGINAL Celica, after the Six Heroes were almost wiped out by Terumi, proceeded to become a nun/sister in a church built over the remains of the Black Beast’s corpse, as she has a unique Order power to nullify seithr. With her healing magic keeping her young and healthy she lived there alone until Jubei brought the three siblings, Ragna Jin and Saya, to be under her care for an undisclosed amount of time. This is where people get her being Ragna’s mom, even thought nuns/sisters are more just general caretakers instead of parents, but she is still a female maternal figure who looked after Ragna so you can see where people get that.

But then you get “teen” Celica, the one the games show in the story. She is from the Dark War, where she actually met Ragna first. Ragna was sent back in time, with Amnesia, to fill the role of the unsung 7th Hero “Bloodedge” and stop the Black Beast for a year allowing Nine to arm humanity with Ars Magus. Celica apparently fell in love with him because she is very affectionate and familiar with Ragna once she is brought to the future as a Chronophantasma.

The story really does ping pong between her being very motherly, specifically her scolding Ragna and Jin for fighting in CP, and just being a naive child, see her complaining when people get on her case about her awful sense of direction. But it is really hard because the image of the sister seems to flash over her, which the other characters seem to notice, but much like Noel and Saya, no one in the story EVER seems to connect the dots and have that change the relationship between them.

Now I personally don’t like the ship because she is a naive child in a woman’s body, with the stupid no sense of direction gag, to her scolding Ragna and Jin as if they were Natsu and Gray from Fairy Tail who are just fighting for some dick measuring contest when we all KNOW the actual reason is more complicated but the story just seems to abandon that and GGRRRR!!!

But, looking at Celica, really you can;t do the whole “Schrodinger’s Relationship” thing like they’re doing with Saya and Noel and the Murakumos. They need to COMMIT, to a role.

If Celica is Ragna’s MOM, no ifs and or buts, then 1. They need to make her less of a cutesy child. and 2. Maybe age up her design, Litchi has the design vibe of someone who is “older” than the cast, maybe something similar to that. Just imagine another angsty scene of Ragna meeting this woman who has the same face as the Sister who raised him who he KNOWS 100% is dead, so no mistaken identity shit like I already suggested with Saya/Noel, and her looking at him with her face is just MOCKING him, especially since his first two meetings with her in CP are after he gets his ass kicked (once after he is sent back in time after Nu kicking his butt, and once after Kagura knocks him out and arrests him). Also you’d have to undo ALL ship teasing in Phase Shift, or just use one of my friend’s ideas and just have Ragna be a reincarnation of Bloodedge instead of going back in time.

If you want Celica to be the cute girl love interest, and this is the option I feel most people would want either b/c shipping or the cute girl waifu factor that Japan likes (I base some of m reasoning based on “could this be made”, then you’d have to undo all connections between Celica and the Sister. My simple idea was instead of Celica living all those years she dies there, but Nine also had a bunch of other caretakers go with her to help take care of the church. I mean Nine is one of the Great Sages AND a member of the Six Heroes you’re telling em she wouldn’t use some of tat fame and authority to make sure his little sister is safe when she is all alone out there. Seems almost out of character with how fiercely protective Nine was of Celica. Of course this all means that the Sister that raises Ragna and the siblings is less important as she is just a nameless backstory character in a similar vein to Noel’s adoptive Parents, but is is a much easier thing to do than the previous option.

Either of those two options are good IMO, but I still think Celica needs to grow up a bit and release how much everyone around her is an asshole before I can fully ship her and Ragna.

So, what do you guys think? Noel being fully Ragna’s sister leading to much more interesting plot stuff, and Celica committing to either the cute girl love interest or mom role. I feel lkike my ideas are good, but what d you guys think?

━  even her mom’s passing when she was 12 did little to change zo’s opinion in the matter. she didn’t care about the woman’s death, nor did it affect her whatsoever, and she will gladly tell anyone that. but the fact that she accepted her offer at NEU and pledged phi alpha, her mom’s sorority, may hint at something different. despite now being a part of greek life, she still doesn’t buy into any of the sisterhood crap and thinks it’s all just a load of BS. but of course, that didn’t stop her from wanting to be president, if only for the power.

━  a hustler with an alpha bitch mentality, she’s always outsmarting people and outsmarting the system to get things to work in her favour. and when that didn’t work, no one could ever say no to a big fat wad of cash. because zoyenka voznesensky never loses. she doesn’t just play the game, she owns it, makes the rules and wins. every. damn. time. does she think she’s better than everyone? without a doubt.

━  zo swears by the belief that playing by the rules was for suckers and if you weren’t the best, then you were nothing at all. and sometimes being the best required playing dirty. if she has to ruin someone else’s life to get her way, then she will gladly pour a jug of gasoline, light a match and enjoy watching it go up in flames. hell, sometimes she’ll do that just purely for her own enjoyment.

━  with that mentality, it’s no surprise that zo was on track to becoming phi alpha’s president. but it was also her ambition that screwed herself over in the end. last year, an all too eager zo wanted a quick loophole to move from vice president to president because she just didn’t want to wait another year. so, she framed the then-president for stealing funds from the sorority, but was consequently busted, removed as VP and put on probation.

━  after that debacle, zo decided to do an exchange program in france for a semester, as a way to escape the aftermath. now she’s back with her head held high, still one month on probation, and ready to move on. but then again, why take the high road when the low road is so much more chaotic and fun? her presidency was already taken from her, so what else was there to lose?

And Johnny and his lawyer have referenced them!! Johnny literally said “which is why I’m suing...” and there’s been a recent statement reacting to people’s support how he’s determined more than ever to fight for justice and he WANTS his day in court to prove all that he’s saying is true. And his lawyer has been giving statements to the press for almost a year now. All of this is legit info from legit court documents. Just because you’re too lazy to look for the actual link for the whole document, that doesn’t make them false. It’s like you people think a Depp fan wrote two fake 40 page lawsuits, are you really that pathetic to suggest something like that? Waldman, his lawyer, has confirmed what the lawsuit says, it’s not just screenshot from some “unsourced” lawsuit, he repeated what the lawsuit says: 87 surveillance videos, litany of neutral witnesses, including the police, photographic evidence, audio, and sworn testimonies, as well as Heard’s admission.

And furthermore, people saying just because the lawsuit claims she confessed, doesn’t mean it’s true. Well, okay. However, she has not denied the claims. Read through her statements reacting to the lawsuits, she or her lawyer/publicist or whatever, have responded several times. But never with “I deny this”. It’s always something to make Johnny look bad. “that’s mental abuse” “he’s hell-bent on self-destruction” “ms heard won’t be silenced” “frivolous lawsuit” “just read his latest interview to see he’s delusional” blah blah blah. 

None of that includes any denial whatsoever. And some people are saying “well, so she was just defending herself!!” yeah? so why hasn’t she said that either?? Instead of accusing Depp of mental abuse, she could just say “I confessed to ‘attacks’ that were pure self-defense.” That’s literally all she’d have to say. She hasn’t. The first “she admitted” claims came out several months ago last year (y’all just noticed only this week for some reason). And in all those months, she has not denied anything. Whereas Johnny has ALWAYS maintained he didn’t abuse her, he’s always denied it. Why hasn’t she?

My second point is people saying he’s still an asshole even if he was a victim, because *references some out of context bs* blah blah, I’ve been over a part of this at the beginning. Yes, he was arrested in the past, for trashing a hotel room (no violence on people) with his then gf Kate Moss, and for chasing away paparazzi after politely asking them to leave him and his family alone. They didn’t, so he PROTECTED his family. Trying to distort that to make him sound abusive is gross. And lastly, stop using the “he punched a guy on a movie set” allegation. First of all, the guy literally ditched court, I wonder why. Secondly, multiple people have come out saying Johnny was neither drunk, nor did he punch the guy. A script supervisor even said they have time-stamped photos to prove he didn’t. However, I would not blame him if he did because HE WAS DEFENDING A HOMELESS AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMAN. That’s right, the accuser was being RACIST. And according to witnesses:

79. I believe it was a Weird Al concert! It was from a while back. Basically, we were on a shitty vacation. And my mom dragged us out somewhere when we thought we were gonna go home. My brother and I were sick of her shit and just wanted to leave, but when we discovered that it was Weird Al, it sorta made up for it lol.

Whydidn’t Dawn carry brass knuckles, or pepper spray, or goddamntampons, something she could throw in their faces, send themscattering? She rifled through the pile until she uncovered the tinysample spritzer she pocketed from the perfume department at Macy’s.Maybe she could fashion it into mace. Thesafer, saner Option B: Find a payphone, call a Scoob, and sit tightuntil a Qualified Adult arrived on the scene. That was the smartticket, for sure, but that also meant her little excursion to theseediest, skankiest bar in Sunnydale would circulate back to Buffy,and she could already see her sister’s haunted, dead-eyed look ofever-growing disappointment as she processed yet another Dawn Summersfuck-up—

One-womanrescue it is. She jammed herbelongings back into her bag, and weaved her way through the sea ofcocktail tables to the billiards hall at the center of the bar.

Thecue rack was empty, of course. She toyed with asking to borrow onefrom a player mid-game, or just grabbing one and running, or… forgoingthe idea of grappling with a burly, tattooed biker three times hersize at all, and maybe just brandishing a chair as a weaponinstead. It’d take more heft, for sure, but it’d probably do moredamage than a spindly stick—

“I seriously hope you wandered into here by mistake and you’re on the lookout foran exit,” a coarse, English accent rumbled in her ear. It was agood thing she passed on that 64-oz slushie when they detoured to7-11 earlier, because she’s confident she would have peed her pantsotherwise.

“Holycrap, Spike!” she squealed. “What are you doing here?”A stupid question, really, because hello, Spike was an adult,not so much of the card-carrying legal variety, but centuries old enough tobe in a bar, and he fit the scene all too well anyway—smoke andleather and clutched in his black-polished fingers, an elusive poolcue—ha.

“Dollarshot night,” he said, lips curling around a cigarette. “Andno Scoobies to be found in a dive like this. Which begs the question,Scrappy Doo, why the fuck are you here, and if the answerisn’t ‘got lost on my way to the Catholic nunnery’ we’re going tohave a big fucking problem, Nibblet.”

Lyinghad become such a norm for her lately. She mentally cycledthrough a half dozen excuses—a school research project on thealcohol industry, an errand for Buffy, here with a friend’sparent—before it occurred to her that Spike was so freaky-good atreading people he’d never in a million years buy whatever BS lie shefed him. He was the best case scenario in a worst case situation,honestly; his protective inner-babysitter never really shut offaround her, but he was too cool not to narc on her, either.  

“Samereason,” she admitted. The growl was expected, but hiseyes—flickered blue-green-gold and kaleidoscoped back again, andwow, she didn’t know they could do that. It’d be cool if he didn’tlook like he was two seconds from popping an Ibuprofen and reallytesting the limits of his chip. “The no-Buffy part,” shequickly amended. “Not the shots. I haven’t had any of that,alcohol tastes like pee. Janice though…” She nodded towardsthe back of the bar, where the group was corralling the tipsy teen towardsthe fire exit, one guy with a hand down her shirt, ewwww.

“You’restill hanging out with that stupid bint?”

“Look,yeah, I know, bad influence, blah blah, peer pressure, blah blahblah. You can practice your woefully rusty morality and rail me outall you want after you rescue my friend from her starring rolein a high school production of ‘Debbie Does Dallas.’ Please?”

Hedidn’t say anything for an agonizingly long time, looking almoststatuesque, save for the plume of smoke from the growing line of ashon his cigarette. Calculating risk vs reward, no doubt, in whateversort of mental gymnastics a soulless demon sorted through matters ofmorality, and battle strategies of one chipped vampire against a gangof humans. Finally, after a long enough stretch where she wondered if she miscalculated her request, and would have to wrest the cue from his hand and charge in herself,he nodded, flicking the butt to the floor and grinding it under hisheel. “Fine. I’ll help the dumb cow. Don’t move. When I’m done, youand me, we’re gonna have some words.”
