because like sure, u can make any number of logical, plot-driven arguments as to why jesse immediately went to badger and skinny pete after breaking out of the compound. they were nearby. they were familiar enough with the crime world to help him evade immediate capture. they were the only people in his circle still alive. "el camino" is a story about the major players in jesse's life, so why wouldn't they be in it?? but something just feels so emotional and intentional about jesse going to them. badger and skinny were comic relief sidekicks for almost the entirety of "breaking bad", but there's no joke here, no punchline. it's totally sincere in a way that we've never seen before. jesse barely communicates with them while he's there and he doesnt need to: they Recognize the change, the damage, and handle him with unprecedented care. they still make jokes, but it's different. it's gentle. and it just fits so perfectly into the theme of "el camino" revealing Exactly who the characters are at their core and what kind of intentions they have/had for jesse. he goes to them because he knows badger and skinny won't have any bad intentions. they never have. they aren't comedic relief but just relief. he's a lost dog who could've broken into any viable shelter for food and rest, but he went where he would actually be wanted. that was just as essential to his survival as the food and sleep.
