i’ll never forgive the hotd writers for benching laena in order to make rhaenyra look bad. RHAENYRA & LAENA made the Jace/Baela and Luke/Rhaena betrothals, not Rhaenys. Rhaenys was never involved. But instead we get Rhaenyra making this desperate last attempt to secure Rhaenys’s support at the when Luke’s inheritance is about to be taken away. No, Laena went to her grave with the expectation that her daughters would be Queen Consort of the Seven Kingdoms and Lady of Driftmark because of the matchmaking she did. Not Daemon. Not Rhaenys. Her.

HOTD Beach AU

Alicent and her family have arrived at the beach. They realize after the two hour trip they have forgotten Daeron at home. They are not going back.

Rhaenyra has arrived with her family, the only food they have brought is a bag of cheetos.

Rhaenys has her granddaughters sorted already, only sunscreen left!

Daemon is moping in the ocean meanwhile.

Viserys and his least favourite daughter are having creative diferences about the sand Valyrian model. She wants to put pink seashells, he refuses. Alicent ends up scolding him.

The kids find out someone has finished all the ice-cream. Lucerys has been crying for half an hour. It was Daemon.

Helaena has found a crab she calls Herbert, no one wants to get near her. Aegon has passed out, being buried in sand as a punishment.

Rhaenyra has promised Aegon a beer if he distracts everyone while she flirts with Daemon. Viserys feels something is not right but can't figure out what. Jacaerys is just happy to be included.

The day at the beach was a success!!! No one was seriously harmed and everyone had fun.

Truly a first for the Targaryen family! ❤️

The idea that Daemon survived the fall after the Battle above God’s Eye is absurd (the idea that he abandoned his family so he could run away with Nettles is beyond that).

Daemon Targaryen loved his family more than anything, for starters. He loved his daughters, he loved his sons and he loved his wife/his Queen (the woman he waited years and years for). He would have never abandoned them at their time of need, especially during a war deciding the future of House Targaryen.

Secondly, our favorite Rogue Prince has always been highly interested in getting House Targaryen back in shape and at the height of the reign of Aegon the Conqueror. It was his life goal. He wouldn’t have abandoned that cause for anything. Prince Daemon Targaryen was one of the few true dragon lords House Targaryen produced.

If Daemon had survived that fall, he would have returned to King’s Landing with Aemond’s head on a platter, not hesitating to take pride in how he eliminated the Greens’ single ace card (and by that, I mean Vhagar. Aemond was nothing without her). And with that, he would have proved his unwavering loyalty to Rhaenyra, and protected the claims of their remaining children.

Rhaenyra could literally be described as the most entitled, boring, victim complex having, spoiled brat, in all of Westeros. (She’s not… but TG foams out the mouth while thinking it)

But you want to know what she’s not?

A rapist.

i hate when someone will voice a very valid complaint about the misogynoir present in hotd and how it sidelines baela and rhaena only to follow it with “baela and rhaena should have been angry at rhaenyra for stealing driftmark from them!” um, no, these were never feelings they had towards rhaenyra in the books and it tells me you don’t actually care about them as characters, you simply want tools to make Rhaenyra look bad.

It’s so paper thin, especially when these posts fanatasize about Baela and Rhaena hating Rhaenyra for stealing their birthright and not Corlys. You know, the one who named Luke as his heir? Or how about Laenor, the one who never wavered on the assertion that they were trueborn? You are not complaining about their personalities that were erased, their hobbies, their likes and dislikes, even their bland and uninspiring styling, just that they aren’t a mouthpiece for your anti Rhaenyra opinions. You don’t care about them as characters in their own right which makes you just as bad the writers who sidelined them in the first place. Sorry 🤷‍♀️
