i just sifted through my notes app and there are so many fun fic ideas... i'm dying. why aren't i writing these???

1. the follow-up to the yu ziyuan/jin-furen fic where now they're married to their husbands but fed up and want to run away together. only yu ziyuan is pregnant again, and jin-furen can't trust her husband to keep jin zixuan safe. it's more about yu ziyuan coming to accept yunmeng as her home and figuring out what boundaries she needs to set to survive it (i.e. not answering to jiang-furen), and also her complicated fear(?) of motherhood, especially when it comes to jiang cheng. but jin-furen is still her most important person, so it'd still be a little shippy.

2. hwi taking seon-ho to swim for the first time and navigating the emotional minefield that entails. and seon-ho being absolutely giddy about them both surviving until he gets home and it's clear nam jeon knows where he's been. nam jeon does kind of get under his skin, but seon-ho has a reminder in his pocket (hwi's hair tie that he took without asking), which he holds onto as a reminder that hwi didn't die, hwi won't die, not because of him. (he will take this talisman out from its hiding place every time he needs it until after the military exam because by then he can't believe in it anymore)

3. wei wuxian trying to prepare for his wedding alone and struggling, but jiang cheng shows up to help him set up and comb his hair, even though he wasn't invited to the wedding, and even though it should be yanli. because wei wuxian needs him, and, for once, he can do something. they only barely relax into each other's presence before jiang cheng finishes, but it's important because wei wuxian gets concrete proof that he doesn't have to lose a family to gain a family (despite what previous experiences have suggested), and jiang cheng gets to tell wei wuxian that he approves of the marriage, if only because "it's easier to lose you like this" (thinking of the other ways jiang cheng has lost wei wuxian) - and it isn't perfect, but they're both still here, and it's a rare chance they get to stop and appreciate it together.

4. bai chuan and fang xu's relationship from childhood to adulthood, and all the ways they misunderstand and resent each other (affectionately, usually). at one point fang xu breaks his arm and has to whisper his moves into bai chuan's ear to set the pieces, and bai chuan gets increasingly mad because he realizes that fang xu holds back when they play each other. at one point they fight because fang xu says sometimes he hates weiqi, and bai chuan takes it personally and tells him to just quit then, but fang xu says can't because he *is* weiqi and if he quits he'll die. and bai chuan is so frustrated with his own inadequacies he doesn't really understand what is fang xu is trying to tell him until they're much older and living separate lives. anyway, obviously a happy ending on this one. i just like to think about them sharing a bed, and bai chuan being the one to tell fang xu he needs glasses (which of course fang xu ignores because how can he need glasses when he's "perfect").

5. a short yanli-centric fic where she finds her mother drunk and depressed after jin-furen's annual visit to yunmeng has ended. yu ziyuan is the only one to notice that yanli is sad that jin zixuan is gone, too, and makes a comment about how yanli is cursed just like her. yanli has always wondered what it would be like to finally be *seen* by yu ziyuan, and even to be compared to her formidable mother (just once), but now that it's happened, she doesn't like it, and she doesn't agree with it either, and, like, that's a lot to process, but she'll come out a stronger and better person for it.

I'm Not Spoiled

(As a group of people walk towards the office of what people might call the person who owns it nothing but a cruel demon, I do wonder what they're going inquire of him now)

"All i'm telling you to do, is too use your voice" says one, as he gets closer towards who he is speaking too.

"Listen it doesn't matter how you say it but the first words out of your mouth has to be "big brother", otherwise all of our planning will fail", says a male with his bangs covering one of his eyes.

"Through the drain!?", he says incredulous but he later's on sighs in registration when a female whose eyes are uncaring agrees with her fellow two companions.

(They get closer towards the office but they stop)

"Oi, why'd you stop are you sca- "Roger do you think our Lordship would be scared of saying a few words" says long haired.

"What he would be scared of is being called again for being spoiled Ming Yu" the woman says factual.

Again the shorter one huffs

"Aiyaa we can't be scared the office is like a foot away from us" says Roger

"Bai Chuan what do you propose" says Ming Yu, as he finished the group and the guards that are on post looks at her.

"Because our dear Lord Xiu didn't have money at the restaurant he should just go by himself in there" Bai Chuan says with a glint of mischievous in her eyes.

"No no no, listen just because you guys think I'm spoiled doesn't mean I am" Xiu is about to protest more when suddenly the guards start laughing and saying yes he is and that everybody in all of Zichuan knows about it.

"Simple guards shouldn't be in this conversation" Xiu is now red from embarrassment.

"Were not simple guards, we've known you since you were a child, a very spoiled child" now everyone in the hallway is laughing.

(The door to the office is suddenly opened revealing a tall man with long grey hair to his shoulders)

One by One everyone says "Your Excellency" except for Xiu.

Before he can begin to speak, Roger took the hands of Bai Chuan and Ming Yu to leave.

"My Lordship it seems that we three need to help Ning out with picking her dress with Princess Ka Dan and his Excellency's wife for the picnic" Roger and everyone says their goodbye's and leaves, the guards straightened up and bowed and leave as well.

"You are-" "I'm not Di Lin", Di Lin just rolls his eyes.

One of Luo Binghe’s main hooks as a stallion novel protagonist (that gets him a giant harem) is his cooking. It’s so delicious Shen Qingqiu, who wants to avoid “wife plots,” can’t help but have him cook for him. 

Submission:

Luo Binghe's love language is literally cooking! He starts making Shen Qingqiu's meals as a teenager, then makes him three meals a day for the 5 years Shen Qingqiu is dead, and ofc cooks for him regularly after they get together. Binghe's congee might as well be a symbol of their love at this point!

Liu Qi and Bai Chuan from The Right Way to Offer a Sacrifice to The River God

Submission: 

Liu Qi x Bai Chuan is a "masterful cook x ultimate foodie" couple. Not only is Liu Qi an amazing cook, his cooking is actually what first draws Bai Chuan to him.  To quote: "Not long later, Liu Qi served up two dishes of home-cooked food. Tomatoes and scrambled egg, vegetables stir-fried with smoked meat, and a large bowl of fish soup."  And then, a few paragraphs later: "Liu Wi once again entered the kitchen and made two bowls of noodles, added in two eggs, and topped it with a few slices of cooked beef."  And then: "Liu Qi rolled his eyes at Bai Chuan's antics and asked, 'What do you still want to eat? Want me to add in another dish of fried prawns?'"   And so on. Bai Chuan, being the river god, brings in all the seafood they want for Li Qi to cook: "With a shake of his sleeves, a heap of seafood that could be found in the river came out from his sleeves, making pitter-patter sounds when they landed on the floor as they were still alive and jumping around energetically. Frantically, Liu Qi called out for him to stop so he could use a small basin to pick up the prawns. The remaining fish and crabs were stored in a bamboo basket for their next meal."   Even better, they split the chores! Bai Chuan uses his river god-powers to act as a magical dishwasher after Liu Qi's done cooking. Peak domestic. What harmony.

Part of Moshang’s “reconciliation” (if that’s the right word) after Shang Qinghua ran away (if THAT’s the right word) involves him asking for hand-pulled noodles - something he even admits is asking for a mile when given an inch. And Mobei-jun, who is fairly bad at communicating emotions in human-terms, does! It’s the ending of Shang Qinghua settling down to start writing again & one of the few moments that it’s relatively clear that Mobei-jun is showing affection (in human terms)
