School leaders unions are balloting or considering balloting for the first time in history.

This should tell you something about the shocking state of education in England right now.

Schools have been cut to the bone (check out schoolcuts.org.uk to see the impact in your area btw), and it’s thought more is coming. Schools can’t recruit and the situation is only going to get worse.

If you have children, or plan to have children, or just care about the future at all, this should bother you.

Words Spawn Actions

“You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say, In what way have we wearied Him? [You do it when by your actions] you say, Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord and He delights in them. Or [by asking], Where is the God of justice?” Malachi 2:17AMPC

Are you aware that our words spawn actions? Words are formulated from the thoughts of our hearts. Unfortunately, too often, my words will bypass my mind and exit my mouth. It’s an area I truly struggle in, just as my feelings will show on my face, again thoughts from the heart. Proverbs 23:7NKJV “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”

This is one reason Solomon wrote, Proverbs 4:23NLT “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

David knew the way to guard the heart was “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in Your ways” Psalm 119:37ESV.

Isaiah asked who could dwell with Yahweh. Holy Spirit’s response was “He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil” Isaiah 33:16ESV. Three actions correspond with our text scripture. Speaking “uprightly,” closing his ear and eye gates to evil. Guarding our hearts is guarding what we allow into our minds through our senses.

Why? Satan knows bombarding the eyes and ears will dull our minds, changing our actions. People become desensitized by seeing evil— hence planned riots, looting, murders, pornography, blatant sex sins and lifestyles. Example: We held a high moral standard in our home. Unmarried couples weren’t permitted to sleep together. Lou’s sister-in-law and boyfriend lived together… how could I not permit them? Fortunately, all the beds were filled, he got top bunk and she the bottom. Later, came others, whom Lou didn’t want to insult by separating them, saying, ‘let God be their Holy Spirit.’ Weren’t we desensitized? Or was I trying to play God?

Preachers, and church members alike talk about how they can’t understand why God is permitting such evil today. Do we turn off evil movies, TV shows, talk shows? Are we approving the evil by our actions and then discussing what we’ve seen?

Everyone is fighting and arguing about abortion. ‘It’s my body, my right to abort.’ Isn’t it the right of the life created to live? The fight is because of fifty years of satan’s indoctrination camps called schools, teaching sex-ed, and the government calling it ‘birth control.’ Surely this is evil. Yet, some churches say it’s okay, even perfectly fine to abort. When believers don’t oppose politicians who favor abortion, their actions say— “evil is good,” while words say, ‘God understands the fetus is better off, than alive with those parents.’

Those same church goers scream out “Where is the justice of God?” because of the pedophilia, child sex trafficking, murders of children, twisted perverted education in the schools. What’s the difference? Because the children were born rather than unborn? They consider Adonai a weakling because He doesn’t prevent what they’ve allowed.

Jesus said, “You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” Matthew 7:16ESV. It all starts at the ballot box. Don’t say, ‘we can’t vote in corrupt elections.’ Vote paper ballots on election day trusting God. Simply not voting is voting for evil. Voting a party ticket because that’s ‘our party’ has voted in evil people, promoting Communism, crime by defunding police, releasing prisoners, opening borders allowing known violent offenders across without restriction— don’t accuse God for not being unjust. Shut your mouths.

Could our words be identifying us as someone other than a Christ follower? It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Adonai forgive, please, our harsh words and sinful actions, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Alright so as an anarchist who's trying to be a little more responsible about voting (because it still matters and you should do it even though the system is dumb) aside from affirming equal human rights, pushing for no more war, and the return of hoarded and stolen resources, what should we be voting for? I think guns are evil and shouldn't have been made in the first place, but I have no authority to tell anyone they can't have one. It's difficult to vote because for every political issue, I know i don't have the authority to tell people what to do.

I want to vote for the scaffolding of change, but im worried I'll end up contributing to the gradual implementation of another equally corrupt government system. All governments are inherently corrupt, trusting socialists and communists now is easy because we have a common goal of peace, but what happens after humanity finally figures out that bigotry is futile? After hundreds of years of mandating equality for all, resources for all, and kindness for all will the government system dissolve?

Or will we fall into the cycle of allowing deals to happen behind closed doors, electing lying politicians, and trusting governments to "save" us from other governments again and again for the rest of time

Argh, I just don't know how to vote. I hate the government and making decisions

Understandable in a vacuum, but I gotta say, I'm seeing a lot of dog whistles in this one. Do you mean actual predators, or....?

Our [location] schools and school board have lost their way. I’m an [state] public school kid, a parent of five public school children, a foster parent, and the husband of a public school teacher. I’m running for school board because I’m fed up with divisive politics replacing real educational success. [...] Teach the Basics. Parents will be considered core partners on the next [Location] School Board. OUR SCHOOLS WILL BE SAFE. After the murder of George Floyd our children were caught in the “defund the police” movement. Safety Resource Officers were removed by the Board and left our children vulnerable to threats from on and off campus. The next Board will be willing partners with the [City] Police Department and SRO’s will be returned to our schools

School districts should reflect the values of the families they serve. [...] Furthermore, I have concerns about some adoptions being made to the curriculum in our public schools. Students deserve to be taught in a politically neutral environment, political agendas aside.

As a Young Life Leader, I mentor kids on a regular basis. I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that adults who partner with parents have on these young people. These young individuals thrive when the leader partners with the parents and everyone works together as a team. That is why I will always encourage and support parental rights in the school. As a father to three, I understand God given rights and the importance of parent involvement in their child’s education. I am a firm believer that it is the parents that know what is best for their child and I will provide transparency, open communication, and a collaborative environment for all involved.

So uh. When you talk about transparency, are you talking about outing kids or...?

There is something wrong that while the rest of the state’s school districts were pulling back on masking, our Superintendent proposed increasing masking and it took a gym of upset people to stop it

... Maybe the other school districts were wrong.

Parents have the fundamental right to be the principal decision maker in their children's education

In theory, I get where you're coming from. In practice I don't trust you.

While other districts have removed School Resource Officers (trained law enforcement) from their schools, I will work to shore up this program. In addition, we must make our students’ mental health a priority

Nothing helps kids' mental health more than cops in schools. :D

Okay, this might be the most important headcanon question I've asked so far. Canonically, there are no horses in Fallout. But...

Can we PLEASE avoid a rerun of the 2020 US Elections? Who wants to relive that? Do you? Are you satisfied with either of these candidates? Or would you rather see someone new get a chance?

Slightly boring post alert but important with all these ballots going on...

Make sure your union membership details are up to date, address, email etc. Make sure if you've left a place of work you let the union know.

If you're a rep, check the details for your workplace - I did this recently, found duplicate records and about 10 people who'd left still on our books.

Stuff like this can be used to overturn strike action or may prevent unions reaching the threshold for action - admin is important.
