i can confidently say, in my 6+ years of being a klance stan, i have never seen anything like this before or since. this fic is AMAZING. completely new idea, hilarious, sweet, and totally untouchable. i’ve always love testing fics that are done right (bc theyre always funny), and does this one ever knock it out of the park! the dynamics are amazing and the rivalry is EXQUISITE. bonus of vietnamese keith and filipino lance, and this one line (it’s a spoiler so im not going to put it here) that actually knocked me out of the water. its about the CHOICE.

2. But You’ll Peek Through by Barkour

It's weird, the things you get used to when you've been stuck in space for years. How much you miss home. Socializing regularly with only six people. No wifi. Your cranky boyfriend.

this is one of the earliest vld fics ever written, and it has a CROWN idk. this fic makes me feel so many emotions all at once. like  i miss u 2016 fic i miss u keith gyeong i miss u bitchy klance i miss u early voltron found family dynamic i miss u old lance’s family headcanons i miss u bamf team. rip to the earliest voltron fandom (also. how did this author know about romelle. in 2016.)

Keith is hired for the summer to work on the farm of the McClain family. He and the youngest son of the family become good friends, though Keith might want more.

i am so fucking in love with aus like this. cowboy or farmboy where theyre quietly in love in their own bubble of the world?? i cannot get enough of them. i would read a million of them. this fic in particular is SO soft and tender, it is so so important to me. ive read it so many times. its one of those fics that brings a smile to your face that u literally cannot fight back

5. Prince Charming by @taylortot

Lance thinks that Prince Keith is just another stuck-up royal with an attitude problem until they spend some time together outside of the palace and he discovers that he couldn't have been more wrong.

Placing his laptop down on the grassy area below him he ran for his scarf, unfortunately every time he reached down the grab it, it would begin the chase again; mocking him.

Finally someone with silky brown and slender hands grasped his red sweater gently, he hoped.

"Does this belong to you?" the voice soothed, he cowered below the man when he had looked up "Don't worry, It happens to the best of us!" he fixed his own, blue, sweater a smug look on his face when he did so

he quickly remembered the laptop that he had left unsupervised and thanked the man; hoping to never see him again, since, he had made such an uncomfortable 'introduction' he should call it

Keith walked; no, ran from the man with his red scarf in his hand held tight, the memory of the man who stood before him staying in his mind for a while, returning to his earlier studies.

Keith was asleep when the wristband on his blade suit lit up for the first time in weeks, letting him know he was receiving a video call. The faint lilac glow and gentle buzz had woken Keith up immediately, being used to waking up from a deep sleep to pick up a call from the castle whenever he could to talk to his friends. He couldn’t believe it. He thought Kolivan had told everyone that he and Krolia were MIA and probably presumed dead too, and that’s why they hadn’t called. Or more likely they had been calling and Space Signal didn’t extend to Quantum Abysses (Abyssi? What was the plural of Abyss, Keith wondered). “Krolia!” He yelled, startling himself from his thoughts and her from her watch so badly that she hit her head on the cave’s wall. “Keith! What has happened?” She panted, eyes frantic. “They’re calling! They’re calling, we must’ve gotten a signal or they must have- wait I have to pick up before I lose them!” Keith taps his wrist and Lance’s face pops up on the holloscreen. ______________

Basically, I didn't like that Keith and Krolia were completely isolated on the space whale for two years so I fixed it and I made it Klance because that's what I do.

official plance lore keeper eh? got any fake marriage/dating fic recs? hehe

Anon, you seem the be the only person who knows what the Lore Keeper title means AND I LOVE YOU FOR IT.

SO. Surprisingly enough the plance fandom has really been dropping the ball on this trope. Guys c’mon. 

These are my top 5, plus a bonus.  In no particular order, because I can’t pick.

1. Il Bel ModelloLance is a famous model who likes to pick up his assistants, Pidge is his intern assistant and completely unflappable (at least, on the outside). Absolutely hilarious; love the plance interactions and the Pidge/Romelle roomies. It’s wonderful to watch Lance be so deep in denial yet slowly slide right into infatuation. Side Kallura. Ongoing.

2. To The Boy I Love by the very lovely @alwaysinsonderA To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before AU!  (There are two others, but I haven’t read them yet). Except this follows the movie very loosely at best, so it’s full of twists and surprises (if you haven’t seen the movie it’s really just a high school AU). The relationship is built up so sweetly and the ending is satisfying as hell. Complete.

3. Howl at the Moon by the incredibly talented @sp4c3-0ddityFake marriage! One of my favourite fics for a very long time. Plance pretend to be married for a mission. Welcome to political intrigue, sci-fi action, and Pidge and Lance doing the Paladin Thing like Bosses, with a side of jealousy and miscommunication that’s balanced just right. The ending is very sweet and really captures the shyer side of their personalities, which is a lovely contrast to BAMFing with the guns. Awesome worldbuilding. Complete.

4. Mistletoe and Mixed FeelingsA more standard ‘fake dating’ fic – Lance needs to get his family off his back and claims to be dating Pidge. Pidge goes along with it because…well, she has ulterior motives.  A huge fluff-fest, lots of family love, and damn it’s nice to see Pidge with a bit of game once in a while. Complete.

5. Just Five DaysAnother old favourite of mine!  This is your standard ‘make the fam happy’ fake dating with a twist – Pidge is fake dating Keith, and Lance is fake dating Matt. The build-up between both ships (side Katt) is fraught with tension and I just love it. The author hasn’t updated in forever and I know they were feeling disillusioned about it, so if you read it please leave a comment because comments are encouraging.

BONUS FIC

The Rules of Robotics (And Love)Olllllllllld boarding school AU that’s technically incomplete but it’s really only missing the epilogue, and the author is still working on it.  The slowest slow burn of your life. Like anon, I am not kidding. You will want to jump out windows,that’s how frustrating this is.  You got your childhood friends, your fake dating, your family issues, your misunderstandings, EVERYTHING. The fake dating’s only for a couple of chapters in the middle-ish but it’s everything you want in fake dating, including bed-sharing.

where keith is kim, romelle is ron, pidge is wade, shiro is she-go, zarkon and/or haggar are drakon. 

romelle is the one who came up with the idea for a babysitting service and keith went along with it because he needs the cash and romelle needed the rides. 

their first mission was because someone accidentally called their service instead of the actual hero service comprised of kolivan, thace, and antok. 

keith drags romelle along on zany life-saving adventures and keith’s just stupidly good at it. romelle is very reluctant and perpetually scared but also always comes through in the clutch. pidge is a fn asset but she’s mostly in it so she can hone her hacker voice lbr. 

keith’s got the bamf parents to back him up. they’re just like, ah yes, our boy off to risk life and limb again,, be sure you’re home for dinner. 

shiro is keith’s next door neighbor who does a lot of traveling but they’re on really good terms (SECRET NEMESISES!!!). keith might be softly pining after they guy next door and there was also that one time they were fighting where he didn’t try to break shi-ro’s grip on him as soon as he could have,,,
