Bwahahahhaha what the actual — i mean, it’s FFXV’s 5th anniversary and someone (who even draws things at this point?) decided it made sense to create a Kingsglaive art (why Kingsglaive??) that literally couldn’t happen in any world or time. I mean, is this supposed to happen in the otherworld? If yes, why is Libertus there? Shouldn’t he be still alive or something? Or is this in the future when Libertus will die too?

We’ll never know, of course. At this point i’m 100% certain that whenever SquareEnix people want to make something about FFXV, they go like:

I have been recently rewatching with you and can i just say I love your gifs. And I wonder if you know of any drama that has good boi™️ like yu huai lol. I tried watching other school dramas but it just don’t catch my eyes much.

Hi there! First off, sorry for the late reply. I actually had to sit down and write a list before I attempt to answer your question, which is why this q&a is only now being answered lol. If I recall correctly, I only did a couple of gifsets for With You, but still thank you for loving them ^^

And boy, a drama with good school boy like Yu Huai?? That kind of stumped me lol. The kind of male protagonist that’s good from beginning to end, not the kind that’s an asshole in the beginning only to be sweet to the female counter-part later when he “falls in love” with her, right? Or are you talking about good boy, in the sense that he’s studious? If it’s the latter, then there’s no problem with that because in these youth dramas all the male protagonists are some kind of geniuses lol. Even though I enjoy youth drama, I don’t know if I’ve seen enough to give you a good among to start off with. So here’s my attempt to give you some I’ve seen that you might like, and I will also give you some that I’ve heard good things about, but have yet to watch. And you did mentioned you’ve seen other school dramas, so some of these you might have already watched. Just a fyi ^^

I guess I’ll start off with one that’s closely related to With You in terms of: novelist, setting, and theme - My Huckleberry Friends. I believe this one is from the same author that wrote the With You novel, and the story is based in the same school and time, but the leads here are from a different class than Yu Huai and Geng Geng. I heard a lot of good things about this drama, and since you like With You so much, you might like this one too ^^.

My Mr. Mermaid, Tang Yi Bai, is honestly one of my favorite male protagonist. I don’t think I can find a sweeter guy than him in dramaland.

This one might be the most famous/well-known one, Love O2O, Xiao Nai. I mean he’s the perfect male protagonist. The End.

My most recent obsession, Put Your Head On My Shoulder, Gu Wei Yi. He’s that cute, nerdy weirdo that is also so sweet in his own unique way. He is love ♡. I can’t tell you how perfect but yet so imperfect he is hahaha. The imperfection is him TRYING to be better and prefect, which somehow makes him so much more charming and adorable.

Le Coup de Foudre, Yan Mo. This one is currently airing and I’m enjoying it a lot more than I would’ve thought. Yan Mo is an interesting character. He’s certainly a good studious individual being one of the top student in his class/grade. He seems cold and almost emotionless but he’s so funny in this stoic way. He’s in the weird category, but weird in a good and cute way lol.

A very underrated drama that I loved, Where the Lost Ones Go, Xiang Ze Yi. He’s that playful, nice guy type. Also quite romantic too. I mean he’s an artist so that’s a given lol. This drama however, goes from super fluffy and light to super dark and gloomy. Just prepare a box of tissue next to you.

Another one I’ve heard is good is When We Were Young. I can’t give you much info on this one since I haven’t seen it myself, but those who have seen it has mentioned good things about it. Male protagonist, from what I remember from the trailer seems to be a nice, out-going individual.

Suddenly This Summer is one that a lot of people talked about when it first aired. I don’t know the overall content of the drama but I remember the story is somewhat similar to With You.

A Love So Beautiful, Jiang Chen. Okay, Jiang Chen can be such a jerk at times but when he’s sweet, he’s really sweet. That’s why I’m including him here. He’s that character that you hate but love.

Salute to My Youth, Lan Tian Ye. I haven’t seen this one in full because there’s honestly no subs available out there :( But Lan Tian Ye is in the same category as Jiang Chen, maybe a little less hateful. One thing I like about him is that he’s quite manly. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Also the second male lead is so sweet here, you might get major second lead syndrome.  

Not sure if you’re looking for other countries content too, but here’s some extras that I think you might like.

Page Turner: This is a short mini drama (only three episodes). It was short but so good.

Reply 1997: The first drama of the very famous Reply series in Korea. The only one that I can say I like from beginning to end.

Sassy Go Go/Cheer Up: I personally don’t think Korean make good youth drama but this one is one that I really liked.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo: This one is a favorite among the international fans. I haven’t seen it, but people raves about it. It’s a campus love story where friends become lovers.

The U-Princes Series: This is a youth drama series from Thailand and they have some cute ones that you might like if you’re interested in trying out Thai drama.

From Me to You/Kimi ni Todoke: This is one of my all time favorite movies. Male protagonist, Shouta, is just the sweetest guy ever. Played by the Miura Haruma ♡ ♡ ♡ This is a movie but I think of Shouta when it comes to “good boy” hahaha.

Okay that’s it! At least that’s all I can think of off the top of my head. Of course, there are many many more out there that I have not yet heard or seen, so this is my own little list. I tried to stay within your given request of “good boy” male character in youth/school related drama, so hopefully you’ll find one of these to your liking.

I love your tags on Mr. Sunshine posts and can I just say instant follow~ Eushin is such a good ship and despite eugene being the lead, go ae shin has always had her own arc to deal with. At the end he became more of a supportive interest for her than the typical hero.

I THOUGHT AE-SIN WAS THE LEAD. i don’t know why!! the show’s summary centers on him ep 1 starts with his story it makes sense that he’s the lead i just!! i think maybe because eugene does, consciously, choose to make himself secondary to ae-sin’s plans and choices, my brain automatically switched him to second lead/supportive character?? or i saw the attempted love square stuff and immediately went oh of course SHES the lead askdjkshfkjdsjds

this makes…. so much sense…….. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. like one of my favourite things about the show is it doesn’t really follow that love triangle trope of leaving you guessing which one the (usually female) lead will end up with, it actually does a pretty good job at establishing early on that for all of hui-seong’s and dong-mae’s pining, eugene’s the one she loves from day 1, the actual conflict is if both of them are going to let themselves choose a life together over all their other plans and ideals. i loved that! i thought it was so refreshing!! im an idiot!!

CONVERSELY, one of my pet-peeves (and you might disagree idk) is that while eugene basically goes through a complete shift in loyalties and world-view, i don’t think ae-sin really changed/developed a lot during the series? which didn’t make sense to me while watching, why shaft your lead’s character development in this way? but IT MAKES SENSE and IM MORE OK WITH IT if she’s not really the lead but a supporting character with her own thing going on!!]

my stupid brain aside, THANK YOU! i love eusin so much, im so glad you wrote to me! you’re right, he did become more of a supportive interest to her, and the thing i personally find amazing is that that’s something he CHOSE! like that was his arc! the central conflict was, is eugene going to value this love he never expected more than the life and plans and ideals he’s built and fought for all his life in the us? and HE DOES. HE CHOOSES TO, KNOWING it will probably mean doom for him because of her cause and her loyalties. mr sunshine is the story of a lead character consciously re-making himself into a secondary character in someone else’s story purely out of love for them, and it’s just. so beautiful and meaningful and something i’ve never seen before. it’s utter and selfless devotion to another person to the point of annihilating yourself, which usually i would be wary of, because it can so often come across as obsessive or unhealthy, but it was handled with so much tenderness and care, they were so careful to point out it was a fully aware choice on his part to put her life and priorities before his, and we see him ponder that choice and its consequences for 20 episodes before committing, we see him take small steps forward in the first half of the series and then back off when he gets scared or pushed away, and finally we see him fully committing himself to her toward the end. it’s so poignant and lovely, and i have nothing to complain about.

i read a fandom essay once years ago about how we tend to value stories of sacrifice for loved ones only when it’s women doing it (like mothers dying for their sons etc), whereas when men sacrifice personal happiness in stories it’s usually because they’ve devoted their lives to A Higher Cause, like war or vengeance or whatever. 

(yes it was a supernatural essay about dean selling his soul for sam i was 17 years old and i found it very moving ok! moving on)

and mr sunshine took those cultural tropes and said, you know what? we’re gonna do it the other way around. AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL

not really. the best thing they could have done was giving rey and finn their separate and different arcs instead of running the risk of having one or the other being relegated to sidekick status

I know its a long overdue post but my fav female characters (beside Ae Shin) are Hwang Jin Yi and Dae Jang Geum. With Hwang Jin Yi, you get to see her love, her passion, and her relationship with fantastic ladies. And Ha Ji Won in hanboks are always a plus. DJG love story is much like Mr Sunshine, the male lead kinda exists as her support and the story is always about her.

Which one do you like more: the Japanese voice or the English voice for Nier Automata? I have such a bias for the English version mostly because I see how much Kira and Kyle love their characters. I also did cry a bit when I watched their concert reading on youtube. But I saw on youtube there would still be people saying ooh the japanese is better because 2b is colder than the English version...

I love Kira and Kyle and I really love the English version. They both did a great job that hit me in the emotions so many times. I have some issues with what the localization team did (like make 2B sound colder and 9S a little less sweet). I love all of the English VAs. Japanese is good too although I don’t care much for eve and 9S’ screams heh.

Whoever draws these tease us just like the anniversary pic with luna sitting on the throne and nyx by her side like first year anniversary art 😂. I’m crossing my fingers to see they drop more lunyx contents for the movie 🍿.

i have been craving a sageuk (i keep putting the crowned clown off, maybe its not for me lols) 

but i really hate zombies!!! (i recently watched Rampant and i had was really only there for Lee Sun Bin bc it was rubbish) 

and its not even that im scared of zombies, i just find them gross to look at lols (i also feel like zombie plots are boring) 

+ this one is an 18 which means the gore and zombie grossness will be on a much higher level so i’m nope’d out of there pretty fast haha

Which All I ask of you version is your favorite?

Erm... to be honest, I don't actually pay that much attention to 'All I Ask of You'. I suppose it's kind of weird - I love Christine! I love Raoul! I will defend them to the death (and possibly even after that, rising from the grave as an angry fan when I see bashing from whatever afterlife I happen to inhabit). But the song itself is a bit... boring? Or at least, I don't see as much variation as I do in, say, 'Music of the Night' - though I do have favorites when it comes to certain kisses (Michael Shawn Lewis plus anyone... Greg Mills and Samantha Hill... yeah) or twirls (Sean MacLaughlin and Trista Moldovan). Lately, I've been having new appreciation for the Vienna take on it, which does a couple things differently - namely, having Christine sing, "Say you love me" an octave higher which is glorious, and having Raoul sing, "Christine, I love you" the same way the Phantom does at the end of the show. Parallels!
