Pairing up with Urumi wasn’t your smartest idea, admittedly. But, when she waltzed up to you so confidently during a club’s game — she was wearing a light pink skirt, then — you could only mutter an okay.
It wasn’t a surprise when you were the only surviving team — not really.
You spent your days eating expired canned goods and wandering through abandoned malls with Urumi pulling you by your wrist. She hated when her clothes got dirty — hated when blood stains contaminated her new lace or the frills of her skirt. Leading you to a prison building, Urumi swayed in her blue dress excitedly. A heart’s game — she was too good at those. The brunette turned, her hair parted so that you could help buckle her collar shut.
The brand new shirt you wore blended in with everyone else’s — grabbing new clothes while on the run from the King of Spades was everyone’s first instinct, apparently. A man in overalls twitched nervously as his eyes scoured the group that’d gathered for the game. A white hooded figure stood to his left, leaning against the wall boredly as you and Urumi chose your own spot to wait at.
In only minutes — it felt like longer — the game closed as the last member took a seat directly across from you. Urumi laid her chin on your shoulder as the rules began to play on the screen in the middle of the room, the familiar automated voice drowning out any questions you had. Looking around the room, your eyes met shining ones that were staring directly at you.
A sliver of fear crawled down your spine, dropping into every available crevice as you gulped. He tilted his head, smirk lifting the right side of his mouth as the gleam from that day took over his eyes. You don’t think you’d ever forget that look — you’d never forget how he stared ; how he didn’t let you leave his eyesight for one second.
“We’ll be safe together, hm, [name]?” Urumi murmured into your ear. Her question went unanswered as your throat grew more and more parched the longer he kept his gaze on you. Urumi crept closer to you, mouth snug against your ear as she frowned. “[Name]?”
“I know him.” You breathe out the sentence before thinking. Gulping again, you blink frantically as you try to shift your eyes away from his. “That guy that just came in.”
Urumi hums as she looks ahead — it’s a miniscule change, but he’s frowning at how close she is to you. One look at the screen that has everyone’s picture tells her just who he is. “His name is familiar.”
“He’s been on the news,” a woman wearing yellow speaks up. She shuffles closer to both of you shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Killed four women, I think. I wonder how he got here…?”
Your heart jumps in your throat at the confirmation. You knew you weren’t imagining things — knew he was too familiar. Aching breaths hit your lungs as you try to calm down. Urumi is watching you curiously — she’d only seen you this panicked with a game or two. “I think… I think I was going to be victim number five.”
They both widen their eyes at the news, but you stare at the floor, unblinking and still. Slyly, Urumi places herself in between you and the man — Banda. She hides you from his view as the chatter of the other players begins to rise.
“No worries, [name],” Urumi grins. “We’ll keep each other safe.”
—— ♧ ♡ ♢ ♤ ——
Standing in front of the snack aisle took you back to a memory you wanted desperately to forget. The cookies in front of you transformed into books ; the smell of a moldy prison changed to the scent of coffee and vanilla. You can’t help but reminisce — can’t help it as your mind drifts from your current location and to one that felt like it was from a lifetime ago.
——
Bookstores were your safe haven ; libraries your second home. When they had small cafes nearby, they felt even more snug and warm and welcoming. You’re so focused on searching the shelf in front of you that the person beside you goes completely unnoticed. A shift to the right finally catches your attention, the man standing beside you is looking in your direction.
He’s handsome, you notice ; with soft eyes and a small tilt of his mouth that your eyes latch onto. The man fully grins your way now, all gently and tenderly and your breath catches in your chest. “I hope I’m not bothering you.”
“Oh, um…” you bite your bottom lip shyly and put the book you were looking at back on the shelf. Glancing at the stranger, you ignore the heat rising in your cheeks by clearing your throat. “No, it’s okay. Do you need something?”
“I just noticed something,” the man mutters. He moves quickly, his right hand cradling your face before his fingers move down to your chin. You’re so shocked — so startled by his audacity to touch you out of nowhere that you don’t move.
“You,” he grins, the fingers holding your chin maneuvering your head side to side. “You have puppy eyes. How cute.”
Gulping, you can only stand there stiffly as he moves his hand away from you slowly, savoring how your skin feels. You’re frowning ; frowning as you bring your arms tight across your torso as a way to put a block between this man and you. “So? Why did you feel the need to tell me that?”
The man tilts his head, grin falling into something more sinister and poisonous. You back up steadily until your back hits the bookshelf behind you with a jolt. He doesn’t pursue you anymore ; doesn’t follow your timid steps as he just stares. “It’s cute, is all. Haven’t met anyone as cute as you before.”
——
“[Name]? You’re just standing there…” the girl in yellow is trying to get your attention. The flashback you found yourself lost in ripples away from you abruptly as she stands in his place. Once she sees you looking her way, she grins prettily and clasps onto your arm softly. “Urumi is looking for you. And she wants something sweet? What should we bring her?”
You grab a pink box, the cartoon strawberries on it bringing you further to the present. “She likes these. Do you want anything?”
She shakes her head and leads you to your group. Urumi looks over your shaken expression carefully before grinning and taking her snack from your hand. Slyly, she sways your way and detaches the yellow-clad woman from you and takes her place. “All for me, [name]? How sweet of you! Have any problems while you were away?”
“No,” you smile tensely but relax in her hold. Urumi is comforting in her own way — familiar to you and the only solace you’d found in the Borderlands. “Everything is good.”
The group goes around to tell their card suit’s — you only look away when Urumi lies to the woman in yellow about her symbol. You survive this round and the next ; somehow you and Urumi make it to the last twelve. You find yourself standing in front of the snack shelf again and it makes you remember the man from before ; the man who followed you to the Borderlands.
“You’re here again.” You jump at the sudden noise, turning to see that man. You knew his name now ; knew what exactly he did before he ended up here. You back away slowly and it reminds you of the first time you met. You’re afraid he won’t just let you leave this time, though. “Hungry? Thirsty?”
Not answering, you only ball your hands into fists and prepare yourself for anything. Banda tilts his head and smiles at you teasingly before chuckling. “I’m not going to hurt you, puppy. Would never.”
You blink at the affectionate-sounding name, “what?”
Banda leans in closer, his eyes staying on yours as your noses brush. “You still have those pretty puppy eyes. We’ll make it out together, hm?” He backs away from you, grin melting into his neutral face. “Your suit is a heart. See you in the next round.”
Urumi doesn’t make it. You and Chishiya — the man in the white hoodie — are the last two survivors of your group. He finds solace in the cafeteria, but you find yourself on a staircase. You’re mourning the loss of your friend-of-sorts ; Urumi wasn’t the best person, but she was your companion and you already miss her.
“I’ll keep you company,” a voice runs through your ears. Banda is standing on the stair just above yours so that he’s looming over you. “Keep you safe,” he smiles. “All mine to protect now.”
Before you think, your mouth is opening and words are spilling out. “Why didn’t you kill me?”
He tilts his head, “why would I?”
“That’s what you do — you murder people.” Your anger briefly flares and it makes Banda’s grin widens. “I’m just wondering why that still hasn’t happened to me.”
Banda leans over you, hands in his pockets as the round’s countdown begins. You can hear the footsteps of the other players heading to their chosen cells ; you grow tenser, preparing yourself for your own end. “We aren’t allowed any violence in this arena.”
“That doesn’t explain the other world.”
He hums, leaning back and leading the way to the cells. “I find you… interesting enough to keep around. You have no choice but to live — with or without me. Diamond.”
You did have a choice. You could say a different suit, or not gather in a cell. You could join Urumi — wherever she was now — and attempt to walk out of the Jack’s chosen arena. But, Banda knew you wouldn’t. He’d seen it before, your fighting spirit.
And when Banda walked out with a man in a suit, you followed him, ignoring the blood splattered on his shirt and the smirk on his face.

"Please put on the collar and proceed to the room upstairs."
The same ai voice rang through the small room you walked upon in. It was clear to you that the game must've included something about trust or a guessing game due to the looks of the collar. There was a small, circular display of a screen on the back of it.
You gulp before placing the collar onto your neck.
There was no going back now.
Feeling the light cold from the contraption, you made your way up the stairs and into a room full of other people just standing there. They all had the same collar as you.
For the time being, you decided to do what you do best; observe.
Back in the real world, you were a psychiatrist. Which meant you would study harsh behavioral disorders based on your diagnosis. You were relieved on how much your job had helped your ass during games like diamonds and hearts. It also allowed you to understand others and be able to adapt to their personality.
Maybe you wouldn't call yourself manipulative, but you definitely had the great advantage and ability to.
Your mind suddenly went blank when your eyes stopped and stared at a man from the other side of the room.
Sunato Banda.
Yes, you've heard bout him in the papers before, in the real world.
And then, it seemed like you had been staring at him for a bit too long and he seemed to take notice of your gaze. Banda started to stare back at you, as if he was observing you like you did him.
When you realized this, you quickly gathered back your surroundings and looked away from him.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see that he had interest in you. A dark interest.
As soon as everybody filled out the game's player registration, the big tv screen in front of them turned on - revealing a jack of hearts card.
Everyone listened intently to the game's instructions.
And confirming your earlier suspicions; this is a game of trust. You could already tell, straight off, that most of the players in this room would go off and lie when the option and possibility is given.
Then most of them had gone off in groups or pairs.
Currently for you, you needed to find somebody you could trust. So you needed to observe everybody else first. You're too unbelievably close to finishing off this game - you needed to survive.
That poor boy with his one eye hidden decided to pair up with Sunato.. And it seemed like Sunato had already established his superiority over him.
You looked off to the side and found a boy who seemed like he was having a breakdown every two seconds sitting next to white-hooded other. It was rather odd and unique that they were paired, considering the fact that one of them looked calm and collected and the other was wild and shaky.
You really did feel bad.
But you couldn't do anything about it.
You felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around to reveal a girl in a blue lollita dress - It was the same lady who suggested going in groups.
"Hey, you seem like you need a team... Do you wanna join our group?" She smiled 'innocently'.
Hesitantly, you looked at the group behind her. They were all so desperate in leaving this place alive that they forgot how to work smarter. Some were shivering, some were talking over others..
"Yeah, sure." You accepted and gave her a quick smile.
You had to accept naturally, otherwise they may suspect you as the jack of hearts. And it was too early for you to die.
She smiled. "Wonderful! My name is Urumi, yours?"
"My name is-" You were cut off by somebody asking if they could join the group and it seemed like Urumi had quickly forgotten about you.
You exhaled through your nose in slight annoyance. Then you darted your eyes off to the side and found Banda watching you again. His newfound lacky had disappeared into the small cafeteria.
Eyes narrowing at him, you were about to go and interact with him, get some non-verbal information from him at least, until Urumi touched your shoulder again with her bright, fake childish smile.
"Why don't we go to the cafeteria?" She persuaded in exaggeration, like a kid convincing for their mom to buy a toy for them. "We can have a group meeting there."
It felt like you had caught the eye of many people, like they knew who you are and what you can do.
You certainly know that you've caught Banda's eye, and now this Urumi girl seemed to be the most friendliest to you.
However you knew better than to trust someone like her, but you needed to follow her instructions for now so you wouldn't raise any sort of suspicion. You had to give her the steering wheel for now.
"Sounds like a plan." You answered her, giving one last glance back at Sunato as she continued to drag you away from the main room to the cafeteria.
-
"You're a club!" Urumi chirped happily, and the group members behind her agreed on with her.
Truth. The cogs in your head told you.
You were sure they said the truth. You looked around and smiled thankfully, "Many thanks." Bow.
After a while, it was time to answer your suit. You made your way to the cell of your choice and waited until the bot's voice said any further instructions.
"Please answer your selected suit."
"Club."
3 - 2 - 1 - Ding! Congratulations, you didn't die.
You sighed in relief and dusted off some dirt of your clothes before leaving your small cell. You guessed nobody had died this round, it's too early for the Jack to start their attack.
You opened the cell and were greeted by everybody else around you, and you were right; no one died. Your group got together in the center hall, all bowing and thanking their fellow teammates.
All of you started to tell each other their symbols once again until that one big bully decided to cause a scene. It was no surprise to you though.
He started threatening and attacking the poor man he forced to team up with him, pushing the victim onto the ground as they cried.
Banda was quick to pick the pitiful man up. "Are you okay?"
That struck you as odd. Surely, it did surprise you.
But then he leaned down onto the crying man's ear and whispered something to him. Despite his back was facing you, it was awfully obvious that he had a plan.
Seeing that the game was a hearts, and it needed you to evaluate how much you can trust one another; you also guessed that Sunato told the guy to lie.
It was only inevitable.
When the attacker was about to strike again, he was stopped by his words.
"Club! You're.. a club.." he cried, begging him to not hurt him anymore.
What a sad display in front of you. But it was the duality seen in reality. Where the bigger people fight the weak just to show the dominance they have over them. But it is a world that you have accept. You looked down in shame - not for yourself but for the humanity you live with.
"Don't wait so long next time." The bully chuckled and left.
He walked by you and his collar was in fact, not a club. Nobody decided to tell, letting the foolish man fall into his inescapable death.
After that, slowly, people died. One by one. It started off with that half-witted man, then the man who lied and so forth, so on. And it was all because of Urumi with her suspicions.
It was clear as day that she liked manipulating people using her childish charms.
You were thinking on leaving the group as you sat on those cafeteria benches.. But how were you going to do it without seeming suspicious? Well, you had no choice but to start avoiding her or tell her right away. But maybe next round, there was 20 minutes left and you had just done that group meeting. Thankfully, they haven't lied yet, or else you would have some serious problems.
"Hey."
You know that voice. You could feel your breath hitching and your nervousness starting to rise, but you had to keep yourself composed. Don't show fear.
You turned around to face him, "Banda."
He smirked darkly at you - A smile you've seen a thousand times on people like him.
Banda made his way to sit in front of you. He had his interest piqued at the very moment he had his eyes on you at the start of the game. He knew you were way ahead of the rest. The way you narrowed your eyes at people you were reading.
It also felt like he knew about you way before this game. Dare I say; world.
"I've seen you eyeballing me every time you enter a room." Banda taunted as his small, creepy smile never went away.
"You act as if you don't do the same." You remarked. "I know who you really are, Sunato Banda."
He grinned at you. "Feisty, I like that about you. Putting up a wall so nobody would know what you really think of others."
You only blinked slowly at him. What was he trying to get on about? Why were you even talking to him anyway?
"You'd be surprised." You shrugged his way.
And why were you entertaining him?
"You know, you're group is starting to become extinct rats. What are you going to do when they all died off?" Banda started making a good point.
"What? Am I supposed to say I'll ask for your help?" You asked suspiciously, a little offended.
"What else are you going to do?" He chuckled, soon turning to a dark point. "Just so you know, you don't have to trust in me. I have a feeling that my partner isn't telling me the 100% truth - and when your group dies down, you'd have no one to turn to."
"What are you trying to say?" You knew exactly what he was going to say.
"Why not help each other out? I do you a favor, you do mine."
"And what if you're the jack?"
"What if you're the jack?" Banda played along with signature smile.
Your eyes narrowed at him, a little pissed off. Two can play at this game. "Fine then," You crossed your arms on the table, "Suppose my group does die, and I do listen to your advice - What do you suppose you would do with me after? It's not like I'll easily trust a serial killer."
Banda sneered while placing both of his palms on the table and leaned closer to you, all up in your face with a snarl, "Sometimes, you make me lose my mind."
You leaned closer, "Too bad you already lost it."
With that you chose to stand up from your place at the table, not daring to look back at him. You could already tell he was starting to break character and the real, angry psychopath was starting to show. The true darkness and power that a man like him can hold over their victim. It was already on display at the very first second of this match - everyone was just blind.
But, much to his surprise, you turned around a little, not a full turn where your whole face was visible. You gave him a somewhat sympathetic smile - hard to know if it was fake or not.
"But, I'll be keeping your offer in mind." You chimed before waltzing your way out of the cafeteria with a racing heart.
Did you seriously just back-talked a criminal? Yes, Yes you did.
While you were busy feeling a little bit confident of yourself, which is quite suspicious and yet wrong in a game like this, you didn't notice a pair of eyes watching your back with dubiety.
After another round of this jack of hearts game, it felt like none of them was getting a speck closer into finding out who the jack might be. You gathered with your groupmates once again, waiting for your turn.
"So, what's my symbol?" You asked, trusting them.
"You're a... spade!" Urumi smiled innocently as she swayed lightly, her blue dress flying around lightly. Hand fiddling with the pink pocky stick in her hand.
Lie. Your head told you.
Your eyes widen in shock and terror as you processed the doom that you were in. For the very first time, you were being told a lie in your group.
After what seemed like hesitating more than confirming, the only members left of the group nodded their head and agreed on the symbol. The way they confirmed it was so transparent, you could tell how much of a lie it was, just because their tone of voice and their faces were all so fake.
But you decided to play along.
"Thank you." You nodded.
It didn't take long for the group to disband again, going their separate ways.
You went your own, really separate way alright. You went to Banda, much to your very own disappointment with your so called team.
,
"So you decided to finally come to terms, hm?" Banda played as he followed the lines of the brick walls in the small room in a hallway nobody would really bother to check, especially with a people of this amount left. He was very cocky.
"I said what I said, and I keep my word." You recalled, leaning against the wall with folded hands as you watched Banda slowly come closer to you, his index finger still tracing the dusty old grout.
Eventually, he got closer to you that he was practically 2 inches apart from your figure.
"Sounds trustworthy." He replaced his index finger with his whole palm, up against the wall. "Now I trust you'll tell me the truth?"
"I'll tell the truth if you do the same. I think you know that I'm more than capable to tell the difference between a truth and a lie. No matter how good you are, everybody always have a tell." You didn't meet his eyes yet, you stared off blankly into space but you were very confident and were true to your word.
Banda grinned at you, it made you look at him with your own blank eyes. "No strings attached?"
"No strings attached." You echoed back. Both you and Banda had agreed that both of you wouldn't try to control the other, just simply telling each other's symbols until the end of the game. After all, both of you know how many colors manipulation comes in.
"Your symbol is a heart." He answered.
Truth..
You walked behind him and read his collar, "Spade."
Sunato smiled once more at you, he seemed to trust your words. His partner must've answered the same so it was somewhat of a 100 percent chance for him to be alive this round but you knew that it wasn't going to be the end just yet. Someone was bound to lie some time.
Both of you then made your way to that cell room of yours, watching Urumi walk into her own as she smiled so sweetly your way before walking in.
What a bitch, you thought.
"Please answer your selected suit."
"Heart."
It was correct... The doors unlocked as soon as you realized you had survived. One by one, you heard doors open from the outside. You had counted the amount of players that were left, walking in their cells, so determining how many doors would be opened, it would tell you how many players had survived.
Unfortunately, another player seemed to have passed away. But it wasn't to your surprise.
The real surprise that was about to ensue was to Urumi, who was very shocked and quite pissed off that you were still alive. She had guessed that you had somebody else to trust other than her.
The way she watched you as you walked pass her through the cafeteria was just so full of hatred.
But the real threat to her was her groupmates. Not only were they losing faith in her - she was starting to lose trust in them. It was bound to be a lose-lose situation that would never seem to find its solution.
And as another few rounds went by, your conclusion was true.
Everybody from your group had disappeared, all with their necks blown off in the cells they all last departed to before their certain deaths.
It was a pity for all of them to have died. They wouldn't have had to die if only they were good enough to each other and speak nothing but the truth. But alas, none of them could trust the other.
Each round, usually when Banda's partner was long gone and off to the food section by himself, you would meet up with Banda where nobody else could see and exchange answers of the symbol on your collar and some other information both of you had gathered in safety of the other in the game.
You had told Banda that you had to team up with the white hooded boy with bleached-blonde hair who was formerly in your group but started phase out with the other guy with the yellow shirt. Both of which, you learned their names were Chishiya and Ippei. In order for you to not look suspicious in front of everybody else who was alive.
You couldn't help but feel bad for that one Ippei guy. He really was too kind for this world. It made you wonder how he got this far. Too bad he stranded in the Jack of Hearts game.
Sunato understood your reasons. For a serial killer, he was quite smooth with his words and made very good points from time to time. He was surprisingly a good person to chat with and pass the time.
Both of you learned each others aspects of being a serial killer and a psychiatrist, often play small and few rounds of a guessing game to figure out what the other thinks about or do or anything along those lines.
That's until what seemed like the last round came.
You were with Chishiya but Ippei had sadly passed away. He really shouldn't have been here in the first place. He didn't deserve it. You had a sure feeling that Chishiya was trustworthy enough to go through with your plan of surviving and you hoped that he didn't see you as a threat as well.
There was no real point in lying to him anyways.
In these few rounds, you've noticed how intelligent and observant he really was. It seems like the only last few who were left were the ones who stayed quiet and listened instead of going around and assuming others.
Both of you were sure that the jack was going to make the move.
Anyways, despite the fact you were with Chishiya, he told you not to tell him his symbol yet in order to get some answers from the people he seemed to suspect.
And as the plan went on smoothly, when everybody was gone from the small food section, you told each other your symbols and parted ways. You promised Banda that you'd meet up one last time in the same small room down the hallway.
"About time you showed up, I've been waiting here for 5 minutes." Banda turned around to you.
"And that's all the time it took for you to start losing your head up your ass, huh?" You teased back with unamused eyes.
He didn't really like that so he narrowed his eyes at you. Something he took from you, due to your little habit. "What happened?"
"Nothing much. I just had to do a plan with that Chishiya guy. Really helpful. You?"
"I also teamed up with another guy. Similar to ours. We both believe that we have many things in common." He answered willfully, everything coming out of his mouth was the truth.
It honestly stunned you, the fact hoe he actually was telling the truth about every word he tells you. You were just expecting more unsuspecting and cocky lies, same to everybody who had currently died at this game. Instead, you were met with a man who wanted to survive as much as you do. Maybe even as manipulative as you if you were.
"Reasonable. How sure are you that the guy you're with is the jack of hearts?" You asked.
"I mean considering the fact that you can tell the difference between a truth and a lie, shouldn't you know?" Banda sassed back at you, tilting his head with delight.
"I can tell the difference between a trustworthy prick and ally as well." You smiled at him exaggeratingly. You knew why he suspected his partner already but it couldn't hurt to know if your secret teammate knew why as well.
"When I said he was transparent from the start, I really meant it. He's clearly trying to act as if I have him under my control. The way he doesn't know the way I truly see him when he doesn't have a clue." Your partner says, all in the truth.
"Fair." You answered him. "I hate to say this for once but, hope you end up till end, Sunato. Just so you know, I really am saying the truth."
He nodded towards you before leaving the room first, never to be seen until the results of the last round.
Something tells you that you weren't the only one who felt and read the tension you had between the both of you. A deeper and more twisted and maybe even forbidden kind of tension. But it was the thing both of you had. But you couldn't say anything about it.
As the last few game matchers stepped into the last room of potential death, it took them almost a minute to find out who had won.
You answered your suit and you were more than relieved that your symbol was right and that you were ready to feel actual ground again and breath after this game. You could hear some laughter from outside, near your cell.
But despite trying to sound all so serious, you chuckled at his laugh. The jack was just right next door to you. How stupid.
One by one, you and the last other 3 players revealed yourselves to be alive as you told the jack of your clever plans and how much all of you had outsmarted him.
And in the end, before Sunato and that Yaba guy left into the cell to start their work, the last thing you saw was Banda's wink.
"We shall meet again, princess."

Banda x GN!Reader
Genre: ?? (TW: Banda is a TW in itself, idk) ?? Basically Banda being your stalker in the real world, and you meet him again in one of your games [REQUESTED]
["I always feel like, somebody's watching me."]
Unsettled.
They didn't know why they felt that way almost all the time, but it sent goose bumps up their skin- the hair on their skin standing. No matter where they went, they felt as if there was somebody staring at them, but every time they whipped their head around as if to catch the culprit, there was no one there.
Once, they got home to see their living room lights open and their eyebrows knit together in confusion. They knew for sure they switched all the lights off before they left. They went to the kitchen, seeing their honey scented lip balm lying on the floor.
"Strange, i thought I lost this."
<><><>
The unsettling feeling left for a while since they joined the games, but yet again they felt as if it was back.
"You seem nervous"
Chishiya's voice brought them back to their senses. They were walking into a prison for a Jack of Hearts game, and they just realized they were zoned out while walking.
"I'm not nervous"
"Your nibbling your bottom lip, and your eyes are unmoving and staring at nothing as we walk. You're toying with the hem of your shirt and you keep exhaling deeply every few seconds. You're usually only this ay when you're nervous. So tell me what's wrong"
Screw Cheese Boy and his attentiveness.
Fortunately Chishiya left them alone as they got into the room and put a collar on, Y/N copying his movements.
They felt unnerved again, but this time felt stronger than before. They glanced around the room until they noticed one of the people already staring.
A male with kempt hair and a slightly wrinkled light navy polo with a few buttons undone revealing a white shirt stared at them intently. They noticed how much he reminded them of Chishiya- the slightly raised eyebrows and a smirk on his features. Yet his smirk felt different.
It's as if he recognized you, and his smirk only displayed how pleased he was to be in the same room as you.
Unsettling.
<><><>
"Y/N"
They were picking out snacks when they heard their name called. Thinking it was Chishiya they turned around, only to be surprised seeing it was the same male from earlier.
Since when did they introduce themselves?
"How.. how the heck do you know my name?" Y/N retaliated, and the male took a few steps forward, causing Y/N to step back. They felt the shelves behind them, and before they could move the male had placed his hands on either side of their head so they couldn't escape. His hand drifting down their side before reaching Y/N's pockets, pulling out the honey scented lip balm.
"You know, I missed this. I shouldn't have left it behind when you almost caught me in our house." He chuckled. Y/N's eyes widened.
"Since when did you have keys to my house?!"
"Not my fault you keep it on the fire extinguisher case next to your door, princess. It was so easy to see, like you were practically begging me to come inside your home."
Y/N felt as if there were bugs crawling on her skin. The male only laughed in triumph, opening the lip balm and putting some on Y/N's lips before his own, then storing it back in their bag.
So he was the guy watching them. He probably knew everything about them now, since Y/N already felt this way  a few months before the games.
"You creep!" Y/N hissed, pushing him in the chest so he backs away.
He glances Y/N up and down before shaking his head in amusement, turning to leave.
"My name's Banda Sunato, darling" he winked, before disappearing down the corridor.
Guess this game is going to be pretty eventful.

IMAGINE (OneShot)
I wish to see you all again.
Tumblr media
!WARNING! : mentions of death, reader is he/him, lying, a bit of angst, a bit of fluff at the end.
🃏__________♠️♥️♦️♣️__________🃏
You were terrified, people were going crazy and panicking about their symbol. You have been walking around asking people what your symbol was to avoid lies.
"Spade" a girl with space buns told you. While other people said "heart" and you swore you would never trust her again. As you walked around you kept feeling two or three sets of eyes staring at you.
"you know you shouldn't trust people so easily" said Chishiya a person you had met at the Beach. He was a friend of Arisu and Usagi so you obviously knew him but not so well. He was eating his cookies. His cookies were probably the only thing he cared most about.
It was now the last five minutes so you stepped into your cell and guessed. "Heart" It was correct, thank goodness. As you stepped out a guy walked up to another and started to force him to tell him his symbol.
Banda got up and walked over whispering to the boy. "tell him it's spade" and so the defenless boy did. When that round ended the space buns girl was accusing the guy of killing the gangster on purpose and that they should make him die. Honestly, you didn't really care about anything now that you gave Chishiya telling the correct symbol.
Banda walks up to you and introduces himself. "my name is Banda. Banda Sunato" "my name is Y/N L/N" you told him. He smirked and nodded before walking off as you and Chishiya looked at him intently.
Chishiya started to go over something telling you how he knows the emo boy known as Enji was the Jack Of Hearts. You just nodded and hummed. Walking into your cell, you guessed your symbol.
When Enji walked out he smiled before laughing uncontrollably celebrating his victory. Not even a moment later Chishiya walked out along with you. To be honest you didn't really pay attention to whatever happened later. But you were just staring at Banda and Yaba distracted by their beautiful faces.
You felt a little guilty, but also didn't. The game had to end in one way or another. You reached into a pocket and saw a note.
Dear Y/N,
You might know me as the girl with space buns who lied about your symbol, but I'm writing to tell you that I am your friend from the real world. Don't remember me? My name is Urumi Aramaki. We got separated because I had to go study abroad when we were 10 or 11 remember? If you're reading this and I'm not here keep going for me, for your friends, for your family and for your life.
You read the letter in shock and tears began to fall, but you quickly wipe it away. Boys don't cry, no, but it feels like you were getting punched in your heart. How could you not recognise her? 'I'm so sorry Urumi' you thought.
As you left to find Arisu and the rest you stopped for some food. When you got there Arisu told the news of how Tatta, a great friend of yours had died. You couldn't accept everything. All the lovely people, all the best people left you. First Chota and Karube, now Tatta . You couldn't take it in. You wanted to cry and scream, but you couldn't.
As you walked through the streets to a new game you kept thinking that everything was your fault. Then you saw the last person you wanted to see. Niragi. But how is he alive? "it's all your fault Y/N! You helped Chishiya kill me. You were not there with Tatta. You are the one to blame" this is only making you sadder than before. How is Niragi a man who is a rapist a killer be telling you shit like this. "Kuina and Ann are dead as well. You were supposed to be looking after them! Yet you split up with them and thought they would survive without your help". Niragi kept on making you feel guilty.
Your stomach dropped when you saw Niragi raising his gun up. This was finally your end. Finally. You can see the ones you loved again. Yes! But as Niragi was about to pull the trigger, someone jumped in and stole his gun. Usagi! You turned to her then to Arisu. "go Y/N go! We'll be fine we promise".
The cycle never ends, you leave they die, you're scared that they would leave you too. You started to tear up at the thought.
.
.
.
.
.
.
After so many games, you finally did it you made it back to the real world. Fireworks were every where and you couldn't stop but smile.
You woke up and felt so weak. It was like you got into an accident. Your mother told you your heartbeat had stopped for a minute just like the other people. You nodded and tried to get up but you see that you had burn marks and also scars all over your body, you got up and some doctors supported you and put you in a wheelchair.
Your legs do not work its sad. You wheeled over outside and saw a familiar face. "I feel like I've met you before, but I don't know when" it was Banda but you didn't know (pretend he's there). "yes I think I saw you somewhere to, let's be friends eh?" "sure, my name is Y/N L/N" "Banda Sunato" they talked and have fun not knowing they will be put in a death game called Love. Banda smiles and hugs the boy giving him his number. "call me some day" "will do".

Sunato Banda x F!Y/N
Genre: ??? (literally when I write about Banda I have no idea if he fits the romance genre, gals it's prob obsession but oh well) Obsession TW: Sunato Banda, Stalking involved (?) ["My doctors can't explain My symptoms or my pain But you are my strange addiction"]
Y/N L/N had entered the Jack of Hearts game with Chishiya Shuntaro.
"Why are you even here again? Didn't you say you wanted to go with Kuina?" Chishiya asked plainly, hands in his pockets as they stood outside the game arena.
"Not like I had a choice, Cheese Boy. You're just saying that because you don't want to be with someone annoying as me, right?"
"You said that yourself- ow" Y/N interrupted midsentence, pulling a generous amount of his hair harshly. "Y/N what the hell! I've just washed my hair with conditioner, don't ruin it" "Jerk, sometimes I don't know why i'm friends with you"
Chishiya was Y/N's best friend before the borderlands. They grew up together since his father knew hers, and Y/N was constantly at his house so he says he had 'no choice but to befriend that annoying monkey'.
"Whatever. Just be sensible and stick to me. This is a Hearts game, so you can't trust anyone but me. Okay?"
"I know, i'm not stupid"
_____________________
They stepped into the game area, collars locked around their necks. Chishiya glanced around, eyeing everyone in the room.
"He looks fishy, maybe he's the Jack" Y/N murmured to Chishiya, who turned to her and subtly followed her gaze to a male with kempt black hair. He wore a blue polo shirt lousily tucked into his grey pants. He stood at a corner next to another male with his bangs over one of his eyes- he wore a striped polo underneath a grey cardigan. "You think the blue polo guy is the Jack?" Y/N asked a little too blatantly, catching the male's attention from across the room. His mouth twisted into a small smirk and he began striding towards the two.
"Crap, he must have heard me." Y/N muttered.
The male stood before them glancing at the two silently, the same small smirk still plastered on his face. His expression made Y/N L/N feel unsettled.
"I heard you speaking about me. There's no need to be shy to approach me.. I don't bite" He laughed before holding out his hand. "Sunato Banda, it's a pleasure to meet people who are interested in me."
Y/N's eyes drifted to Chishiya who just stared at Sunato blankly, probably trying to read him. She noticed that Chishiya's eyebrows knit together for a split second, and she didn't blame him. Sunato Banda wasn't easy to read, his smirk didn't show any ill intention, but his eyes had a glint to them- a glint that the both couldn't understand. Y/N reached out and quickly shook hands with Sunato so as to not make the atmosphere awkward. He gripped her hand firmly as they shook hands, before he planted a soft kiss on her wrist.
"Your hand feels smooth. It suits you, Y/N."
Y/N's eyes shot up to meet his, surprise etched in her orbs. "H..how do you know my name?" She stammered, withdrawing her hand from him. "This isn't the first time I've encountered you" He said, his smirk growing wider. Y/N could feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest as she stared at the man in pure disbelief. Without warning, he laughed yet again.
"Gosh, I'm kidding. You look cute when you're shocked. I saw your name on the screen over there, when people join the game, their name and image shows up on the screen."
Chishiya and Y/N immediately turned to where Sunato was pointing to see that he wasn't wrong, everyone's names including theirs were recorded on the huge tv screen on the wall. Y/N could hear Chishiya softly let out a sigh of relief; and Y/N also breathed out with the same feeling, not even realizing she had held her breath.
"Let's team up. This is Eiji Matsushita, he teamed up with me. This is a game of trust, and I assure you that we are both trustworthy. What do you say to make an alliance?" Sunato asked the both of them.
Y/N opened her mouth to reply but Chishiya beat her to it. "Thank you for the offer, but we'll work alone. It's better to work in smaller groups, so when a ruckus is caused everybody can worry about themselves easily. Let's go, Y/N"
_______________
The amount of people slowly decreased and as Chishiya predicted there was a ruckus, people losing trust in others or voting who to secretly tell the wrong symbol to, guessing who the Jack could possibly be. The two were sitting together in the food area, munching absentmindedly on biscuits and chocolates.
Y/N's eyes drifted to the other table nearby to see Eiji sitting alone, staring at an empty packet of Dairy Milk.
"Cheese, do you have any guess who the Jack is?" She asked, only to get no response. "Chishiya" she turned back to see him staring at her, his hand holding out the packet of biscuits he was still munching on.
"You should try this, it tastes great." He replied nonchalantly, making Y/N scoff and snatch the biscuits away from him. "You women are so rude. I just offer biscuits, and you turn me down. I'm to handsome to be rejected, you know." He raised his eyebrows, his lips lifting into that teasing smile that annoyed Y/N so much.
"Who says your handsome? And stop that, we aren't here for you to act like a sweet innocent cookie-selling boy scout. We should focus. Who do you think is the Jack?" She asked him, regaining his attention.
"I have an idea but I won't tell you. You're smart, figure it out yourself" he shrugged, and she scoffed hitting the back of his head with her empty biscuit box.
"How about you, who do you think?" He asked her, rubbing his head
"I think it's that Sunato guy. He asks so strangely, and he seems unaffected after all the chaos and loss of game attendees. It's like he knows it's going to happen- like he planned all of this."
"I have my suspicion, and I agree with you. He's unreadable, earlier when we first got here I couldn't understand what his motives are. But I don't think he's the Jack, someone else fits the description of a Jack." Chishiya spoke calmly, sending a furtive glance to Eiji.
"Say what you want, but I really think it's that Sunato guy. If i'm wrong, I'll eat an entire bag of those biscuits you offered me earlier." She said confidently, and he smiled.
"Silly girl, whatever works for you."
________________
The game ended and Y/N was perplexed to see that Eiji was the Jack the whole time.
"That's impressive, Cheese. Eiji was the least suspicious person for me. He was always so quiet and he even seemed nervous of dying." She said as they strolled out of the game area.
"Impressive? Y/N, I'm Shuntaro Chishiya. This isn't impressive, it's the usual."
"Stop boasting or I'll bash your head against the wall."
"How about you eat the biscuits? I won after all"
She searched through her pockets then his, and smiled triumphantly. "You didn't bring any, and I didn't. I don't have to taste it, thank goodness"
"You hate the biscuits that much?" "It's only for clowns" "Haha, funny"
Y/N glanced at the sky for a few moments.
"Chishiya, i'll just get more supplies and food stocks before it gets too dark. We can find the others tomorrow." She informed him and he nodded, so she went off.
_________________
Y/N was gathering supplies and canned food into her backpack and turned around to leave, but bumped into a chest. She looked up to apologize but froze, the hair on the back of her neck tingling as she saw who it was.
"Funny seeing you here. I didn't see you after the game so I thought that dumb blonde (you'll always be a dumb blonde, ba ba ba da da da~) decided to lie to you about your symbol." Sunato Banda smirked yet again, making Y/N feel unsettled.
"He would never lie to me. Why are you here anyways?" She asked
"I want you to come with me." He said out of the blue
"Why should I?"
He had reached for her wrist dragging her along, Y/N failed to fight him off so she reluctantly followed.
They entered a shabby room on the second floor of an old apartment complex just nearby. Y/N was astonished as she took in her surroundings. The floor was mopped clean of dust and the windows were clear. The sofa was neat and the throw pillows had clean sheets on. Even the electric battery-stove had a kettle burning on it.
Before Y/N could react, Sunato pushed her to sit down on the sofa heading to the kitchen area to probably get refreshments.
"Here..I got this specially for you." He mentioned calmly, placing a tray of food before her.
Y/N froze, seeing the contents of the tray.
On the tray was a hot cup of tea, and right beside it was something Y/N wasn't expecting.
Right beside the cup of tea was a bag of the exact same biscuits Chishiya was offering her during the Jack of Hearts game.
Sunato leaned forward, the same smirk plastered on his lips, his eyes darkening ever so slightly as he held up the bag of biscuits towards her.
"It was an honor to be one of your suspicions during the game. But you do have a point, right? I do seem strange and unaffected during the game."
'How does he knows I said that about him?'
Y/N could hear her heart thumping in her chest. She could feel sweat trickling down her forehead as she held her breath, her gaze frozen on his.
"What are you playing at?" She snapped, her voice crack giving away her fear.
His smirk grew wider, shaking the bag in his hand as the sound of the biscuits shaking inside filled the room. The atmosphere felt thick and uncomfortable, the energy radiating from the male in a blue polo unknown yet unsettling.
"I don't think it would be fair on Chishiya Shuntaro if you don't keep your promise on the bet.. don't you think?"
Y/N felt a pang of bravery in herself and used that small ounce of strength left in her to shove Sunato and run out the room, his laugh ringing in her ears as she stumbled down the flight of stairs back to her temporary place with Chishiya.
She arrived at the makeshift campout, panting heavily. Y/N then felt her delayed reaction, her legs shaking and turning to jelly, the hair on her arms still tingling against her skin. Chishiya got up and went to her, catching her as her legs gave way.
"Woah, are you okay? What happened? Where have you been?"
His questions were nonsense to her ringing ears, all she could hear was the dry eerie laugh that erupted from Banda as she rushed down the stairs out of the apartment complex. She could still smell the cup of tea, and the shaking of the biscuit bag.
Whoever the man in the blue polo was, Y/N didn't want to think about his name ever again.
However, a few hundred meters away from where she was, Sunato Banda sat on the very spot Y/N sat on in the couch, staring at the cup of tea that had now gone cold, the bag of biscuits still in his hand.
The man in the blue polo wouldn’t forget the girl that placed a bet because she assumed he was Jack of Hearts.
And he certainly wouldn’t forget the feeling of her soft palm as he shook her hand.
He wanted to feel it again.
A/N: Helloo, sorry I haven't been writing. I've been super busy since I just finished my junior moving up ceremony and I'm fixing my enrollment for senior high. Apologies if Sunato is slightly ooc, i did my best. I got motivated after I read a tumblr on this so it's slightly inspired. I hope you enjoy! You may put up requests on the Author's Note section before all the oneshots :)) Have a great day!
