Reader x sunato banda
Maybe where the reader was also a murderer in the real world and when he/she gets to the frontier he/she meets sunato who he/she gets along really well with and they're like a powerful couple of psychopaths and they play this prisoner game together (forgot the name).
Sorry if there are any mistakes, I used google translate :/
You don't have to do this if you don't want to :)

Sunato Banda x gn reader
I found it very interesting to write this, just know that I do not condone the behavior of the characters, this is just fiction. I hope you enjoy it!
TW: typical violence, death... let me know if there's anything else
You ravished in it, the death and despair of the borderlands. In the old world you could barely contain your rage, your true self. But here you could just do whatever you wanted, it was heaven.
It was just another regular game, even though the levels had increased, there was nothing you couldn’t handle. You were one of the firsts to arrive and waited in the central guardroom, analysing everyone, enjoying their fear. The person that caught your eye was the last one to arrive. "Difficulty, Jack of Hearts." You smirked, heart games were the ones you enjoyed the most. So much chaos, so much killing. The voice explained the rules but you couldn’t keep your eyes off the mysterious guy, he had a dark aura surrounding him and it pulled you in. The game started, most joined together in groups but you waited a bit longer to observe the intriguing stranger. The second the guy in the grey sweater came up to him you became suspicious, there might have been a bit of jealousy too.
“Let’s be friends” You quirked your eyebrow at that and knew you would have to get rid of grey sweater somehow. Joining the biggest group was to smartest thing to do and your only option since there wasn’t really anyone to trust. The first round was over and nobody got eliminated, a pity. Things got a bit more interesting when a hot-tempered guy threw his ‘buddy’ on the ground. Banda, you read his name on the board, knelt down besides the smaller man and told him to lie to the bully. You started to like him more and more, you just hoped he wasn’t the Jack of Hearts so you would have a chance to survive this game together.
More rounds passed and more people died. People were freaking out and lying to eachother, you on the other hand were enjoying it. You could even snack while watching the mayhem. You felt that Banda was enjoying it too. You were now certain Matsushita was the Jack of Hearts. He was following around Banda like a lapdog and it was pissing you off, a shame you weren’t allowed to kill.
You wanted to get to know Banda but Matsushita barely left his side, the only interaction you had was staring, intense staring. There were only five other people left and you felt the ending of the game approach. You finally took your shot and followed Banda into the bathroom.  “You’ve been staring at me, if I didn’t know better I would think you were the Jack of Hearts.” You chuckled, taking a step closer to him. “But you do know better, we both do. That’s why we’re still alive.” He smiled knowingly. “Why are you participating in the games in this land? Until now, I’ve never been in a land as beautiful as this one.” You were surprised by his sudden question but answered surely “This land strips us down to our true forms, hunters, and prey. Unlike the old world where hunters like us would get punished for just being what nature wants us to be.” “I think you and I might be very similar.” He whispered while his hand caressed your cheek and neck. “I”m glad we found in each other an equal, trustworthy partner, perfect for this game.” He nodded “Let’s make this world ours.” You smirked “First, we’ll have to find out more about it. Why don’t we nicely ask Matsushita?”
The final reveal. Only Banda, Chishiya, Matsushita, and you were left. Fear crept into his eyes when he realized what you wanted. You threw the Jack into his cell, and Banda took out his tools. “What are you going to do to me?!” Matsushita panicked. “One doesn’t often get the chance to have a nice long conversation with a citizen.” You answered, “You’ll tell us everything you know about this land.” Banda started with a razor and every move he made turned you on more, you helped when he handed you a knife, and together you got to know more about your soon-to-be kingdom. Sadly your intel offed himself after just an hour. You could have watched Banda’s art for hours more but you knew you would see more in the future.
The game ended and you won. High on victory and in ecstasy, you pulled him in for a kiss. He returned it with the same force, your tongue slipped passed his lips and you had to pull back to breathe. Foreheads touching, hands enlocked “Let’s take over this world, together.” “Together.”

Banda x GN!Reader
Genre: ?? (TW: Banda is a TW in itself, idk) ?? Basically Banda being your stalker in the real world, and you meet him again in one of your games [REQUESTED]
["I always feel like, somebody's watching me."]
Unsettled.
They didn't know why they felt that way almost all the time, but it sent goose bumps up their skin- the hair on their skin standing. No matter where they went, they felt as if there was somebody staring at them, but every time they whipped their head around as if to catch the culprit, there was no one there.
Once, they got home to see their living room lights open and their eyebrows knit together in confusion. They knew for sure they switched all the lights off before they left. They went to the kitchen, seeing their honey scented lip balm lying on the floor.
"Strange, i thought I lost this."
<><><>
The unsettling feeling left for a while since they joined the games, but yet again they felt as if it was back.
"You seem nervous"
Chishiya's voice brought them back to their senses. They were walking into a prison for a Jack of Hearts game, and they just realized they were zoned out while walking.
"I'm not nervous"
"Your nibbling your bottom lip, and your eyes are unmoving and staring at nothing as we walk. You're toying with the hem of your shirt and you keep exhaling deeply every few seconds. You're usually only this ay when you're nervous. So tell me what's wrong"
Screw Cheese Boy and his attentiveness.
Fortunately Chishiya left them alone as they got into the room and put a collar on, Y/N copying his movements.
They felt unnerved again, but this time felt stronger than before. They glanced around the room until they noticed one of the people already staring.
A male with kempt hair and a slightly wrinkled light navy polo with a few buttons undone revealing a white shirt stared at them intently. They noticed how much he reminded them of Chishiya- the slightly raised eyebrows and a smirk on his features. Yet his smirk felt different.
It's as if he recognized you, and his smirk only displayed how pleased he was to be in the same room as you.
Unsettling.
<><><>
"Y/N"
They were picking out snacks when they heard their name called. Thinking it was Chishiya they turned around, only to be surprised seeing it was the same male from earlier.
Since when did they introduce themselves?
"How.. how the heck do you know my name?" Y/N retaliated, and the male took a few steps forward, causing Y/N to step back. They felt the shelves behind them, and before they could move the male had placed his hands on either side of their head so they couldn't escape. His hand drifting down their side before reaching Y/N's pockets, pulling out the honey scented lip balm.
"You know, I missed this. I shouldn't have left it behind when you almost caught me in our house." He chuckled. Y/N's eyes widened.
"Since when did you have keys to my house?!"
"Not my fault you keep it on the fire extinguisher case next to your door, princess. It was so easy to see, like you were practically begging me to come inside your home."
Y/N felt as if there were bugs crawling on her skin. The male only laughed in triumph, opening the lip balm and putting some on Y/N's lips before his own, then storing it back in their bag.
So he was the guy watching them. He probably knew everything about them now, since Y/N already felt this way  a few months before the games.
"You creep!" Y/N hissed, pushing him in the chest so he backs away.
He glances Y/N up and down before shaking his head in amusement, turning to leave.
"My name's Banda Sunato, darling" he winked, before disappearing down the corridor.
Guess this game is going to be pretty eventful.

cuddling with chishiya and banda headcanons
chishiya shuntaro
Tumblr media
he's not really big on affection in public.. but when he's in private, and in the mood for it, he'd 100% okay with cuddling with you
in a way, it helps to ground him. it keeps him with you, not in his head. he thinks a lot— and his mind does tend to wander— so having you around to hold is something that helps him
chishiya doesn't mind the position you take when cuddling. as long as he gets to be close to you, it's not a problem for him
though.. he does really like when you put your head on his chest. he'll have his arm wrapped around your shoulders, his hand rubbing calming circles into your arm. it's peaceful
you can hear his heartbeat when you lay that way. it reminds you that he's real and in front of you
he doesn't mind being the little spoon. he has to be in a certain mood for it though, so it's a good thing you're as close as you are, because he hates admitting he wants to cuddle verbally
you almost always have to initiate affection like that. he has to be really desperate to actually start cuddling with you even behind closed doors
you'll be sleeping, wrapping your leg around his body and you'll be unintentionally using him as a body pillow. it definitely happens a few times and he learns not to care
though the first time it happened, it felt really uncomfortable. not because of what you were doing, but because of the position he was laying in
though, he didn't move you. not right away, at least. eventually his arm fell asleep and he had to move to wake it up, but he'll wake you really gently as he does so
he's so comforting.. and knowing that he'll protect you in any way he can makes it easier to fall asleep in his arms
falling asleep cuddling becomes a more common occurrence as your relationship goes on, and as he gets more comfortable with it he'll be more willing to initiate it
it's not like he's shy by any means, he just hates admitting when he needs something. it makes him feel strange, and he hates feeling that way
sometimes he'll put his head on your chest for the same reasons you do with him. your heartbeat.. your breathing. all very calming to someone with a mind like his
he's very sweet. doesn't wake you up unless absolutely necessary
you fall asleep cuddling a lot, and he thinks it's really cute <3
also he definitely kisses your forehead if he can reach it when he cuddles you. he loves seeing you get flustered by it
banda sunato
Tumblr media
he loves to cuddle!
he acts similarly to chishiya at first, and it takes him some time to warm up to the idea of physical affection in the way you want..
but the first time you wrap him up in your arms and just hold him there.. he falls in love with it
he feels safe with you, and he can only hope you feel the same with him. it's a good feeling, something he wishes to feel all the time
and he tries to. he always wants to hold you in his arms whenever he gets the chance, and he thinks it's really intimate to touch you in such a soft way
cuddling facing each other is something he really loves. it gives him the opportunity to just look at you. he gets to stare into your eyes and at your lips, occasionally kissing at your forehead whenever he feels like it
he likes watching your expressions, too. it helps him read people— even people other than you just by watching yours
you'll wrap your leg around him and use him as a pillow. he doesn't care. no matter how uncomfortable the position he's in, he'll refuse to move you
he feels so.. different with you. you trust him, and he hasn't had anyone trust him in the way you do in a long time. he'd be a fool to let that trust break
holding hands while cuddling.. something so simple but so sweet in his eyes. it helps him remember that you're really someone that loves and cares for him, because he needs that reminder sometimes
he comes up with the weirdest positions to cuddle in but somehow they're all so nice. sometimes he'll put his head on top of your stomach or something and cuddle with you that way
doesn't matter to him how you lay. as long as he gets to touch you, it's not a problem in his eyes
for someone with such a tough exterior, he's very big on cuddling. it's sweet to see how much he changes because of you
the impact you have on him is soooo massive. cuddling is something he probably never would've been comfortable with before meeting you
falling asleep in his arms??? he knows you trust him but he never thought that much. it flatters him. he wouldn't ever do anything to put you in harms way
he promises to you that he'll protect you. even though you don't hear it :")

“can you kidnap me, can you really chain me to the floor and just murder me, cut my heart out in the dark.”
— I H3ART Y0U by Boy Fantasy
-
pairing : banda sunato x flirty gn!reader
genre : fluff(?), suggestive
synopsis : you're aware that the man you're flirting with has murdered four women before, but what's wrong with a little fun? and lucky for you, you've caught the eye of that particular serial killer.
author's note : I'm well aware of the high demand of banda fics, so I'm here to serve you banda lovers(including me)...he might be slightly ooc(?) I don't know. my man has short screentime, we don't know much of him really 💀
Tumblr media
solitary confinement, huh? you thought, standing in the area upstairs, in the central guardroom, after you've put on your collar. you notice chishiya there, the man you've been with when you were at the beach. he caught your interest due to his cunning demeanor and how he could always clear the games with high risk. you were sure he'd clear this one too, so you didn't worry much about him.
what did catch your interest currently, is the guy who came in last. you knew who he was. the infamous banda sunato, who has killed four women and was on death row. how do I know this? you may ask, well, i just like reading about crimes.
as cruel and psychopathic as his actions were, you still considered him attractive. he had such a pretty boy look, how could you not fawn over him?
amidst your thoughts, you decided to walk up to him. "heyy, pretty boy~ say, why don't we make an alliance?" you say, sending him a little smirk as you accentuated the 'pretty boy' part.
his head turned towards you as he made eye contact with you, you felt your whole body turn tense. his eye contact is so...intense. you can't help but feel tense. he gave you a small smile, "I see, you're quite the bold one, aren't you? you don't mind taking risks, I like that. but that's going to give you consequences someday."
he paused, then "yes, let's be allies. friends, even. let's have fun in this game, shall we?" he said, his smile growing a little bigger. to you, it looked quite...menacing but you found it attractive at the same time. maybe you really are crazy.
suddenly, a guy with bangs blocking one of his eye came up to you and banda. you think he looks emo and quite edgy.
"tell me what my symbol is, and I'll tell you yours." the emo says, in quite a condescending tone.
"that's a pretty aggressive attitude to take..." banda says as he stared him down.
"that kind of childishness makes you painfully transparent. you're ashamed of the darkness inside you, which makes you petty and jealous. you try to keep yourself safe behind those bangs. you hide your face so that people won't see your ugly, empty soul. you're a pathetic excuse of a human being who judges others to feel better. pathetic and small. but that's what I like about you–"
he pauses, "–we should be friends." he smiles.
you observe the interaction from the two, you could tell banda was devoid of emotions. his eyes are intense but soulless. you keep feeling oddly attracted to him more and more.
Tumblr media
round one was over and you were standing beside the little serial killer boy. matsushita was away to get snacks from the food area.
you pretty much were openly staring at him, seriously. you can't help but stare at little details of his face, until he caught you.
"you know, if I were you, I would've been more subtle with it." he says, as his eyes locked on yours.
"why should I be subtle? the whole point of me being obvious is so you'd know I'm openly staring at you due to me finding you rather appealing. you're really really really pretty you know. I'm being so serious right now." you respond, amused by your stupid directness.
"you're quite entertaining." he smirked, staring intensely into your eyes.
"I'm having fun with you already and the game has only just begun." his eyes never breaking contact with yours, you find yourself lost in his empty eyes.
that is, until you looked away, slapping your cheeks. no way bro I thought I was supposed to be the flirt!
you thought of something smooth to say to counterattack banda quickly, "well, you can have even more fun with me in bed." FUCK! why did i say that?! dont forget he killed people! he might even kill me because of this later!! well, actually nevermind. he can murder and torture me all he wants. I don't really have anything to go back to anyway... unfortunately.
you were pulled away from your thoughts as you heard a low chuckle beside you, oh no...even his chuckle is hot.
"you never fail to amuse me"
"you're quite something to be able to say that to someone like me with ease. I'm sure you already know my past, don't you? is this your attempt to seduce me?"
"haha...what, no, hahaha who said that??" that was the most terrible attempt to lie ever...
"you've definitely seduced me, you're quite the compelling one you know? I didn't expect to meet someone like that in this world." his eyes still fixated on you, you were malfunctioning. thank goodness, it was already the start of the second round.
Tumblr media
the only people left now were you, serial killer, emo buddy, the girl, suit man and cheshire boy. you've noticed that chishiya has lost his partner, that poor guy was too kind hearted.
you go to the food area for some snacks and notice two people there interacting, you decide to observe the said interaction. then the girl walks pass by you. you then turn towards chishiya and notice the snack he is holding, "promoting the snack aren't ya, chishi?
"you could say my marketing is pretty good. but I was just deducing something through the snack. matsushita and kotoko kept picking the same brand of snack, suspicious isn't it?" he gives you that sly smirk of his. you know that he's already deduced who the jack of hearts already is.
"by the way, you know that sunato banda guy murdered four women, right? are you seriously risking your life for that man?" he questions, you could tell it was genuine.
"I'm well aware, I don't mind risking my life for him. I have nothing to live for and nothing to come back to. all I can do is have some fun with him and get myself killed, I guess. if I die though, you gotta live for me, chishiya."
he lets out a little chuckle, but doesn't say anything.
"but anyway, do you want me to tell you what your suit is or do you want to rely on your gut and risk your life like always?" you ask
"as much as I'd like to risk my life, it's better you tell me, y/n."
"well, your suit is diamond. also I might actually try that snack of yours."
Tumblr media
ah, the sweet air of the last round. you're currently waiting in your cell as what chishiya has ordered you to do. you could hear matsushita's goofy little laugh outside the cell.
then you hear a door opening, which you know is chishiya, he expresses how he found matsushita suspicious and then banda came out. you came out at the same time as well.
"most people won't even talk to a guy like me. but you wanted to kill me. I could sense that in you right away. so I wanted to see if you were smart, or just stupid, or whether you were a true psychopath."
"b-but they talked to you! they came up to you first before me! they're more suspicious!"
"that's true, but unlike you, they're just the type to take risks. you're the type to not trust strangers easily, yet you trusted banda." chishiya says
"you thought you were controlling me this whole time. but I was manipulating you into thinking that way. ultimately, it was your huge superiority complex that gave you away." banda then says
they go on and on as you zoned out, you really don't care about monologuing so you just decided to stay quiet.
you decided to wait outside the cell as you heard matsushita's scream as banda tortured him. you began to ponder on the different ways banda could've tortured him, you're quite knowledged in some torture methods. you liked to research about them before.
as he finished, he walked towards you whilst yaba had begun to walk outside of the prison.
"shall we go now, y/n?" he asks, as he stared at you with those empty eyes of his like every other time.
"I guess so, your job here is done anyway. say, you have some sexy shoulders." you say as you winked, god were you insufferable.
"speaking of which," he pushed your back towards the wall and leaned close to your face,
"I haven't passed up the offer of having even more fun with you in bed, have I?" he smirks
Tumblr media
I swear I could write better please, I just half assed this because I've got little time so just bear with me here. I still hope you liked it a little bit at least. I think I wrote chishiya a little ooc too 😭

— GAME OF TRUST
banda x gn!reader
genre: friends to enemies to ?
warnings: mentions of death, killing, blood, manipulation, alcohol usage, aib stuff, barely proofread sorry lol
synopsis: Being at the Borderlands wasn’t enough, you just had to meet the person you’d told you would kill if you saw him again. Seems like the way you saw things changed during that time.
author’s note: yeah. so i’ve been writing this for days and i’m still not satisfied w it much but i wanted to post it so there you go. i might edit it but! yea!!
Tumblr media
Three years prior to the Borderlands.
“Seriously.” you scoffed, bandaging the arm of the boy sitting in front of you. “How many times do you plan to do this, exactly?”
‘This’, referred to Banda, your close friend and unofficial roommate, coming to your apartment unannounced with injuries and blood all over him. Every time, he’d greet you with a sheepish, barely-apologetic smile and get you to let him in with an innocent tilt of his head. You’d have him sit at the counter of your bathroom so you could clean up his wounds.
It’s not that you blindly trusted him. You just couldn’t care less what he did to get injured. What bothered you, however, was—
“I don’t know. Depends on whether or not you’ll continue to take care of me when it happens.” he said, taking advantage of the short distance between the two of you to try and catch your gaze.
— Him. In general. He was a problem in itself. You were used to him, sure, but that didn’t make him flirting with you every other day any more bearable. Especially since you liked him. It was obvious to everyone including the two of you that you had always been friends who were maybe-more-than-that. But nothing ever happened, really. That was just the dynamic of your relationship.
“I’m not your personal nurse.”
“Aw.”
You indulged him and met his eyes, albeit yours were filled with a mix of annoyance and tiredness— A cocktail he seemed to like considering the smile that pulled at his lips.
“You’re so annoying. God.” you whispered, not noticing where your eyes fixated.
“And you’re staring at my lips.” he replied, teasing, “What? Want a taste?” he asked and suddenly got so close to your face you almost stumbled back. Except you didn’t. You looked at him with wide eyes and his smile widened.
Then you calmed down, scoffed, and pushed him back.
“Stop looking at me like that.” you spoke, tone low but not entirely threatening. You clicked your tongue when he only raised his eyebrows, like he didn’t get what you meant. “And stop acting innocent.”
“What about me makes you think I’m not?”
You grabbed a cotton ball of disinfectant and roughly pressed it into a cut on his cheekbone. All that did was make him wince a little and close his eye. You sighed and tossed the cotton ball away. “I don’t know. Everything?”
“Come on.” he exhaled as you grabbed a band-aid at the side. The TV in your living room was quiet, but loud enough to be heard in the beat of silence that passed.
“ — A man from Tokyo College was found dead in a residential area near the university. He died from blunt force trauma after seemingly getting into a fight. Reports say he was at a bar with friends before this. The police suspect a drunken fight with a classmate that turned sour.”
Your movements slowed to a stop.
Banda was getting drinks with some upperclassmen he didn’t like tonight. You knew it because you’d asked him why he even bothered going a few days prior. You knew it because he’d told you he wouldn’t be able to make it to your study session because of it. You’re not sure why all your senses pointed an accusatory finger towards the person you considered your best friend at this moment but you couldn’t help it.
“Sunato.”
“What is it?” he asked.
You didn’t feel your gaze move up to meet his. When you did, he was already smiling at you. You wondered if he had made it a point to intentionally stop speaking at that moment.
“Hm?” he tilted his head.
“Sunato.” you repeated, the name sounding a sour shade of uncertainty on your tongue. “What happened tonight?”
He wasn’t smiling anymore. He didn’t seem annoyed, but you couldn’t read him. The silence that followed your words was suffocating— Unbearably so. Each second of quiet staring was making your ears ring. It was deafening. You wondered if there was any sound at all. Even the TV felt like white noise at this point.
Banda stepped down from the counter.
One step forward.
One step back.
Your bathroom wasn’t the definition of big. But when your back hit the wall, Banda didn’t move more. There was a safe distance between the two of you that he didn’t seem to feel like crossing. Nevertheless in this moment, his mere presence felt overwhelming.
“Things.” he finally answered, quietly. “I pretended to drink a few shots with those third-years. Didn’t try to pretend to like them. They got annoyed and we fought.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “And?”
He took a step forward and came so close you felt all your sensed melt away for a moment. A short moment that felt as long as ever.
Then he grabbed the band-aid from between your tightening fingers and looked up at you. He smiled casually, moving back with a shrug of his shoulders. “And nothing.”
You felt like a weight was lifted from your chest, but the tension in the air didn’t dissipate entirely. Banda peeled off the plastic bits of the band-aid, before staring at himself in the mirror above your sink to carefully place it on his wound.
Then he glanced at you in the reflection. “What? Why are you stuck to the wall like this? You scared?”
You pushed yourself up instantly. “No. Why would I be?” you spoke quietly, turning away to walk outside the bathroom.
“Because you think I killed that man.”
A chill ran down your spine.
“I didn’t.” he said casually, lifting your worries a little, before plunging another knife into your chest, “Mean to, I mean.”
“Sunato.” you scoffed, turning around, only to realize he’d gotten impossibly close to you. Your voice weakened, much to tour dismay, “Stop joking around.”
“Should I?” he mused, tilting his head and searching your eyes. “I’m not joking, though.”
You shoved his shoulder and he only smiled. This didn’t feel like seeing someone you didn’t know. It just felt like he revealed a part of himself he hadn’t tried to hide, but hadn’t spoken about. Like something both painfully obvious and incredibly easy to miss. Banda was serious— He would have killed one of those people if he felt like it. And from the amount of times he’d showed up bruised and bloody at your door, a part of you that made your stomach twist told you he might’ve killed someone already.
“Leave. I won’t tell anyone.” you said, “ But if I ever see you again, I’ll kill you myself.” you spoke before you could think about it.
He didn’t argue, seemingly pleased with your response.
“If you try to kill me, be certain I’ll do the same.”
Tumblr media
Present day.
Jack of Hearts.
You sighed audibly as you let the choker click around your neck. Getting used to playing games so much it was a routine was almost worrying. Alas.
You walked up the stairs to the guards’ room and took a long look at every person present. They all seemed to either be grouped up, having come over there with someone, or alone. You walked over to a spot with less people, and leaned against the wall of the corridor. On the other side of it, someone was staring at you.
You turned to meet their gaze. Then your eyebrows furrowed. “… The tag game?”
The boy in a white jacket chuckled. “Nice to see you again.”
You laughed a little as you turned back around. It wasn’t often you met people from previous games again. In this case, it was almost comforting. He didn’t seem all that bad.
Footsteps echoed from the stairs and your attention moved there. You stared at the staircase— People around you didn’t seem really attentive, not really caring about the last player for this game joining in. You had taken the second to last choker. So it could only be that. You figured making sure you saw every player could be useful.
Your eyes widened once you caught sight of the new person’s face. Your gazes met for a split second and you could swear you both scoffed— Although he seemed more like he was laughing.
The first round went by swiftly.
As expected, no one tried killing anyone. It was too early— Too risky. You stepped out of the cell with a deep sigh. You’d joined Urumi’s group so she wouldn’t try and turn the group of annoyingly naive followers she had against you at some point, but no part of you was pleased either. Everything about that girl screamed manipulator.
You started to wonder how many manipulative people were present in this game. Almost unfortunately, more naive ones seemed to be there— Which meant bigger groups to deal with if their leader was against you.
While the first one round went by calmly, you didn’t expect the rest to follow that rhythm. And just as expected, while everyone fell in mostly quiet conversation, the brute from the beginning of the game brought the person he’d decided to pick on to the main room with undeserved punches and kicks. You heaved a sigh at the sight.
The next few rounds were the real start of the game.
When someone told the poor guy to lie to the man who’d been beating him to know the suit on his collar, you weren’t against it. If that man was to die, it would be even better for his victim to kill him. Your only problem with this, really, was Banda Sunato staring right at you as his lips worded out the synonym of ‘kill him’ to the man. You’d chuckled dryly and he only gave you this unreadable look that made you want nothing more than wrap your hands around his neck.
Round four came around.
You were getting tired. You sighed deeply, chest heaving. You tried to focus, really. But it would’ve all been easier if you hadn’t been in the same game as him. Your hands touched the bottles of flavored drinks on the shelf in front of you. “They would taste awful warm. Couldn’t they refrigerate them?” you mumbled, complaining to yourself.
Footsteps slowed down next to you. Irritatingly familiar.
Fingers brushed against the nape of your neck briefly, sending a chill down your spine. “Your suit is Spade.” Banda’s voice whispered close to your ear, “You should be careful of who you trust.”
“Like I should trust you.” you spoke quietly, kind enough not to announce to everyone here that he was just as suspicious as they probably though. You turned to look at him and he smiled.
“Am I not trustworthy to you?” he breathed out a laugh, “That’s five years of friendship you’re ignoring.”
“Fuck off.”
“You’re sweet.” he hummed, leaving you alone nevertheless.
Years. Years without seeing him once. And this is the first conversation you have. It’s almost fitting.
You went and sat at the table the boy whose name you learned was Chishiya Shuntaro was sitting at, along with Ippei Oka. They seemed to be the most two trustworthy of the bunch.
Chishiya was frank. Blunt to a fault. This was assurance that he wouldn’t lie to you. Following the way he seemed to think from the few times you’d talk and overheard him, it didn’t line up with him to lie just to kill. Except if he was the Jack of Hearts and took his time gaining your trust.
Ippei was honest. Overly kind and unable to harm anyone. Your doubts of it being a facade faded once the girl manipulating an entire group of people— Urumi, told them to kill someone. You’d made it a point to stare at his eyes when she finally showed her true colors. There was no faking the terror in his features. Except if he was a really good actor.
You hated to admit but only one person in this entire prison had your entire trust. Ironically enough, it was also the person you told yourself you trusted the least.
You made eye contact with him across the cafeteria and he raised his eyebrows like he was asking you ‘What?’ then a smile, ‘Missed me?’.
You looked away.
Urumi was getting her group to kill someone again. A murderer or another, really. This was a prison, after all.
Round ten.
The cafeteria was probably the nicest place to be when it wasn’t suffocatingly crowded. Which it was, at the moment, despite the amount of players that had been killed already. You grabbed a box of chocolate Pocky and walked out of the cafeteria swiftly. There really was nothing good that came out of staying with people. Especially in these games.
Walking up the stairs, you tore off the packaging before grabbing a stick and holding it between your teeth.
Then someone grabbed you. They pulled you into a corner you hadn’t been paying attention to, and in a second, Banda was leaning against the wall and you were hovering over him. He leaned forward and took a bite out of the Pocky that was still in your mouth and smiled. “Thanks.”
“Really?” you scoffed, finishing the rest as you pushed yourself up, “What’s wrong with you? What do you want?”
“Your cooperation.” he said. You felt your defenses fall the moment he spoke. To be honest every time you two would exchange a few words, the same thing happened. You weakened in front of him. It was like letting him watch you crumble down into his hands without him even having to try— You hated it.
Even after all this time there was a part of you that was too attached to him. Too much to simply move on after the way you ended things. Before everything he was your best friend. He used to be. And that’s why the genuineness in his voice felt this important. Banda Sunato was a liar when he wanted to. He lied as easy as he breathed but preferred to dance around the truth. However this time, he really wanted your help.
You couldn’t see why.
“You have that guy following you around. He looks like he’d trust you even if you held a gun to his head, why are you asking me for anything?” you asked and the usual bite left your tone, unconsciously.
Banda did that thing— Searching for an answer to questions untold in your eyes. He stared and stared and all you could do was freeze in place. Then he would look right at you. Properly.
“You’re the only one I can really trust.”
“So now we’re just lying?”
He chuckled, tilting his head a little, gaze wavering. “I don’t know if you should be talking about lies. Didn’t you say you’d kill me if we saw each other again?” he looked back at you, “I’m still standing. What’s up with that?”
“You would’ve seen right through me. And killed me afterwards.” you only half-lied, “I didn’t feel like risking that.”
He raised his eyebrows. He wasn’t buying it. “I wouldn’t kill my best friend.”
“Banda.”
“Oh, we’re on last-name basis? Sorry.” he said emotionlessly, “I guess you really did mean it when you said you didn’t want to see me again. I thought you were joking.”
You made a face and he chuckled, “Come on. Turn around.”
“That’s awfully authoritative.” you mocked him. He raised his eyebrows, then pushed himself off the wall, closing the distance between the two of you just like that. You flinched a little but he only took a step to the side, then walked behind you.
“Let’s see.” he near-whispered. His fingers settled on the sides of your neck softly but enough to make your chest burn, “That’s Heart.” he said, impossibly quiet and close to you. There was something in his voice when he talked to you sometimes that you hated. It was quiet and low and touched parts of your hearts it shouldn’t. Even years ago, he always acted like this. He played around with your feelings, testing your reaction, for seemingly no reason at all.
Just for fun, you guessed.
You turned around just enough to look at him and he waited. You heaved a long sigh, before grabbing his shoulder and turning him around. He chuckled as he followed the movement, clearly amused by your behavior.
“Diamond.”
“Mm.” he hummed, spinning on his heel to turn back around, “Thank you. I’ll probably need your help in the last round.”
“Who says I’ll help you?”
“Do you genuinely have a good reason not to?”
You took a breath. And then left him.
Round thirteen. Or the last round, according to Chishiya. You were tense— Awfully so. It’s not that you feared dying. Or at the very least, not entirely. But it was more so the quiet plotting, revelations of alliances, last-minute decisions made based on instinct alone that scared you. Chishiya and Banda had both implied this round would be the last.
“Spade.” you spoke clearly. Ten seconds passed.
You tilted your head once the time was up and walked to the door, before waiting. Ten seconds more. Then you carefully and quietly opened it. You were careful to close it just as silently once you heard two familiar voices talking on the floor below you.
“So you do trust me, after all.” Banda said, stepping out of his cell. He was the one to tell you to wait. You almost regretted your decision the second you heard him claim you trusted him again.
“And you trust me.” you replied, reffering to the fact that he was clearly alive after trusting your word on his symbol. “Surprising.”
You looked over at him and saw the man he had seemingly become the ally of walk ahead of him. Banda tilted his head, “Unsurprisingly. Will you wait for me when we leave?”
You looked downstairs for a moment, seeing the suspected Jack of Hearts get cornered, and then looked back up at Banda. “Hm.” you hummed, looking around, “Should I?”
He simply shrugged before walking away, leaving you with just a smile. In a world like this one, was killing people really something to be shocked about anymore? After three years without him and more than a month in this place, were your thoughts on the matter that made you cut him off really still the same?
You scoffed. Of course not.
When the airship exploded above the prison, you stayed at the entrance to wait. And when Banda finally came, he smiled more genuinely than you’d seen him in years.
“You’re bloody.”
“Nothing new.”
“… Annoyingly so.”

We match.
banda sunato x reader
Tumblr media
honestly I don't know what I'm doing. He's just hot. Reader is gn btw. Hope you like it.
You had just entered the teio prison after almost five full days without doing any games. Needless to say you weren't excited about the prospect of risking your life in these sadistic games again, but for once you were happy to be fully rested and healthy (or at least as healthy as one can be in the borderlands). You put one of the last two dark collars on and went up the stairs to find a group of people. Amongst them, a red haired woman in a blue dress and a blond man in a white sweater stood out to you. But they didn't strike you as much as the last participant did. He arrived a minute or two after you and his piercing blue eyes was starting to analyze everyone in the room. Until they landed on you. He stopped his gaze on you for a few seconds and titled his head to get a full look of you. You starred right back, unsure of what you or him were doing.
He was quite attractive with his blue shirt matching his eyes and had an intelligent look that drew you in. You broke the eye contact to stare at your shoes. They were muddy and your white tank still had blood on it as you didn't find clean clothes to wear. Your cargo pants did fit you quite nicely but your messy hair and overall look made you reconsider your situation. You weren't there to flirt, you were there to win.
As people started forming groups you stood on the side. You understood the rules and therefore knew that you couldn't truly rely on anyone. You came up to the guy in the yellow stripped shirt standing next to the blond.
"Could you please tell me my suite?" Did you ask with a small reassuring smile before turning around. "It's diamond" did the blue shirt guy announce while standing almost 6 meters away from you. "Yes, it's diamond" the yellow shirt man shyly confirmed. You starred at the blue eyed one with a surprised but daring look like you knew what he was doing even though you weren't. "Thanks a lot, yours is club." did you say while turning to look at the man you asked your suit to. "Oh that's really nice of you. My name's Ippei! what's yours?" did he reply with an innocent and childlike tone. "Y/N" did you wink at him. The blond who starred quietly at you since the beginning smiled "maybe he's the jack of hearts, so why ask him and not me?". You didn't answer to the question but looked attentively at the man. The silence settled in until the speaker announced that it was time to enter the cells.
Before you entered the cell, the blue shirt man gave you a smirk. Once you got out, you saw him leaning on the wall right outside your cell with his usual half cocky half psychopathic look. "Are you waiting for someone?" did you slowly say without looking at him.
-Yes, you Y/N.
-Really, and why is that?
-You owe me: I told you your suit so you should tell me mine now.
-First, what's your name?- you finally turned your body to face him
-Banda. Why does it matter?
-Well, Banda... I don't owe you anything because I didn't ask anything of you. However I'm feeling nice, so turn around.
He smirked again, but this time he realized you weren't as easily manipulated as he thought. After her turned around, you grazed his cold skin with your finger to grab the collar just a bit. You didn't need to do this to see the suit, but you wanted to touch him. And he took notice of that. "Heart". He turned to face you and stepped a bit closer to you. "Thank you. Your turn now. After all it's me that owes you now." You got taken aback as you didn't expect him to return the favor. You turned around, stressed and anxious as he scared you just a little bit. He gently pulled your hair on the side, and you shivered when you felt the coldness of his fingers. "Oh, look at that. It's heart too. We match...". You held back a little laugh. What the fuck is he doing? He still had his hand on your hair and put the locks back in their place before retrieving his hand but not without what felt like a caress on your neck. Your breathing became irregular as you weren't sure what he was trying to do. You could feel his closeness, his presence right behind you. Right there, towering over you like a dark cloud. And you were sure he could feel your shortness of breath too. Yet he wasn't saying anything.
The emo boy that was usually standing next to Banda walked in this delicate situation. You turned your body towards the newcomer and noticed Banda's annoyance at this interruption.
-Banda? What are you doing?
-Just making friends.
He said that while looking at you with an innocent and naive look like what just happened was perfectly normal. And in retrospect, it wasn't that weird. But why would he ask you out of everyone there, and why touch you like that, and the "we match"... was it really that normal?
You tried not to think too much about it and went into the snack room. You grabbed a biscuit box and went to sit with Ippei and the blonde. "Oh hi! I'm glad you're here, Chishiya is too I'm sure." did the innocent boy say while giving a quick glance to his new friend to make him notice your presence. Chishiya had noticed you since you walked into the room, he just chose not to say anything about it because there was nothing to be said... He had a hard time analyzing you and wasn't sure where to stand with you. You ate your biscuits, talked with Ippei and exchanged infos on your respective suits. Banda didn't lie: you were heart this round.
As you walked back in the common room which was what seemed to be the control room of the prison, you caught Banda glancing at you swiftly. Just long enough for him to really look at you but not long enough for everyone to notice. Even you, if you weren't that attentive to him in particular, wouldn't have noticed.
A tall man in a black shirt threw a tiny guy in front of Banda. "Tell me what my suit is!!!" did he yell angrily at the poor player. Banda then came right behind the harassed young man, and told him in a low voice so that no one heard him to tell him his suit was club. He then walked back to his original place and threw you a glance; you acted as you didn't hear a thing. When the bully walked past you, you confirmed what you already suspected: his suit wasn't club. His suit was diamond. Banda noticed your glare followed by a concerned posture: he knew you knew and took note of that.
----------------------------------------------------------
You had managed to stay alive for a few rounds and to avoid Banda. But Ippei was dead and you now had no one you trusted. The only ones left were a couple in formal suits that seemed to trust each other enough to not need a third, Chishiya that still had a hard time believing you were a trustable person, the emo guy you couldn't bring yourself to even remotely trust, and... Banda.
He knew you were now alone, noticed it as soon as Ippei's door stayed close. The moment you realized he wasn't alive anymore, Chishiya and Banda were looking at you. You didn't seem that sad, a bit disappointed, sure, but nowhere as wrecked as any young person should be after the loss of a friend. Truth was you were sad, but the borderlands taught you to never look desperate, even when you were. Both men thought of the two possibilities: or you were keeping a poker face and were actually sensible or normal, or you were an emotionless sociopath like them.
You wondered around the prison, thinking of some kind of plan that could save your ass from this mess. But nothing came to mind.
-You know you could just ask, right? a low voice behind you said
-I know.
-Then why don't you?
-Because it's not like I can trust you. Banda.
-Why can't you trust me?
-Because, maybe you're the jack of hearts, or maybe you're a sociopath that will kill me the minute it's useful to you.
Nothing. Silence. You were right. You knew you were right. And he knew too. He killed people before. People like you, beautiful ones and full of life and hope... Except you weren't full of those things anymore. Instead you were bitter and somewhat broken. Just like him he thought. That's why he liked you. You were once everything he hated: life, laughter, happiness, and love. But you were now everything he is: death, deceit, coldness, and disappointment. At least that's how he viewed you.
-You can trust me. I promise you won't regret it.
His voice somehow felt warmer and a little bit more sympathetic. You turned around to look at him. You didn't understand what made him promise anything to you, but you felt like playing with fire today.
-Can you tell me what my suit is then, please?
He approached you; you stepped back. He looked at you surprised. "Sorry" did you mutter, standing still as he took a few steps closer. You turned your back to him. He pushed strands of your hair on the side, his cold finger grazing your skin oh so slowly. You let out a short breath. "It's heart... again." You shifted your torso to dive into his eyes. "Thanks." He smiled and turned around. "It's heart too. We match. Again.". Silence settled after this sentence. He didn't turn around. You wondered why. For 10 seconds you were starring at the back of his head. Then you turned to leave but felt a hand on your wrist as you were about to step in the direction of the door. "Wait. Don't leave yet. Please.". He pulled your wrist closer to him so you were forced backwards so your back met his torso. He tilted his head for it stand next to yours. His lips almost touching your ear. "You really can trust me. I mean it. I won't hurt you.". You weren't shaking or trembling this time. Your breath was a bit shaky but you stood your ground. You turned back to face him but realized you were really close to him.
-I don't know you, how can I trust you?
-Get to know me... he responded with a small smile
-Is it true you only have a theoretical understanding of people's feelings?
You blurred that out mindlessly and hated yourself for the way it sounded. But you heard the man in the suit say it to his girlfriend. You wanted to know. He, on the other hand, was just as surprised as you: taken aback by the honesty and audacity of your tone. Why did you want to know? Why did you even care? His smile disappeared and he looked annoyed. Like you just asked a too personal question that wasn't your business. He sighed
-I... Yes. I guess it's true.
-Is it true you take pleasure in killing people?
He didn't respond. You knew you were pushing your luck. But hey, at least you asked. His face got even darker than before. He turned around and left without responding. But as he reached the doorknob and opened it, he shifted his gaze to you.
-Do you?
-What?
-Tell me. How many persons had to die for you to stay alive? How many did you push to their deaths in order to survive? Did you feel pleasure then?
-No. I didn't. I never will.
-Well you don't know what you're missing out on.
You didn't see his face as he exited the room but could swear he wasn't as cocky as before. Was it regret? Or was it something else? Whatever it was, you needed to get your head back in the game.
--------------------------------------------------
The Jack of hearts was an emo kid with weird bangs? Whatever, the game was won, and you could go back to wondering in the borderlands alone and unbothered.
-Leaving so soon?
You jolted of surprise. Didn't expect Banda to follow you outside the gates with... blood on his shirt?
-Did you... ?
-Kill him? It's against the rules so no.
-Yeah but... You...
-Where are you going?
-Don't know. Far away from psychopaths and sociopaths until the next game I guess.
He laughed a bit. Another thing you didn't expect was for him to laugh. Because you were so pleasantly surprised, you weren't thinking when you said:
-You should come.
He looked at you in genuine shock.
-Why do you want me to come with you? I thought you didn't trust me?
-Would you come with me? If I asked you?
You didn't know why you wanted him to come. You just did.
-Yes. I would. Of course, I would. But you didn't answer my questions.
-Well then I'm asking you. Will you come with me?
-I will.
He looked at you in childlike curiosity. What were you thinking? And what was he thinking? Why did he accept?
-Good then. Let's go.
You started walking and he followed in your steps. Catching up to you he stared at you while keeping up the pace. In an instant of boldness and loneliness, you grabbed his hand. He smiled.

You could hardly remember how you showed up in the Borderlands, with no memory of how you got there, knowing nothing about the world you were now located in and how to get out. You didn't even have anyone who you could truly call a friend or even just an acquaintance in this new land.
That was, until Banda Sunato caught eyes on you.
It started out normal as it could be. With Banda striking up a conversation with you randomly during one of the games, you thought he couldn't be too bad. Of course, not everyone thinks the correct thing, though.
You stuck with Banda throughout the games until the second stage. He was kind to you up until then, then he started to change. You believed he was a little weird, yes, maybe even creepy at times with how he stared at you for a little too long at moments. He had told you hardly anything about his life back in the real world, so you didn't tell him anything about yourself, either.
But there was something about the man that made you second guess things, of being with him this long. You were worried that maybe he would throw you under the bus and forget about you like you were nothing to him, but he proved otherwise.
You wish you would've known the person Banda Sunato was before being sent to the Borderlands, because maybe then, you wouldn't have fallen into his delicately laid out trap made just for you.
“Look, I found some Yakisoba noodles.”
Banda held up two packages of noodles, looking over at you. “It’s better than canned foods and plants.”
You looked at him from where you were in the little convenience store, holding a bag and collecting food, “Let’s take them, you're right about it being better than the rest of this stuff.”
He nodded, putting both packages in the bag before standing up and looking around. He wandered off further into the store, checking to see if there was anything else you two could use when his eyes spotted something, making him stop and look at it. Picking it up, he read the label on the small medication bottle that someone must have left, saying it was a form of drug but with severe side effects. Staring at it for a few seconds, Banda then put the bottle in his pocket and continued walking until he was back where you were.
You didn't realize he was standing right behind you until his hand grasped your shoulder and you jumped, spinning around only to see him standing there. “Sorry,” He said without an ounce of sincerity, “I didn't mean to scare you.”
“It's okay,” You replied, shaking your head. “I’m just a little jumpy, I guess.”
“I understand,” Banda nodded, “Let's head back to the tent, it’ll be dark soon.” He added after, removing his hand and turning around, beginning to walk away.
You followed after him out the store, walking beside him down the roads to make it back to your tent. He was looking over at you every few seconds, then looking back in front of him as if he weren't staring at you. Neither of you spoke the whole way back to the tent until Banda was handing you the newly cooked noodles.
“Here,” He said to you, handing you a pair of chopsticks as well. “You’ll need to eat before we enter a game tomorrow.”
“Which one are we even going to join?” You asked him, taking a bite of the food.
Banda appeared to be thinking for a second, but he already knew the answer he was going to give. “How about the Jack of Hearts?”
You looked over at him confused, “Why the hell would we join a heart game together?” You questioned, taking another bite of the food. “Isn't that like, destined for disaster?”
“Of course not. It’ll be fine.”
Destined for disaster, you remember saying it last night, and you were right. The moment you were told the rules for this game, “Solitary Confinement” you knew it would be a disaster. What didn't help was the collar now attached to your neck that will explode if you answer wrong or simply don't answer, making you even more anxious knowing anyone could lie to you at any time. You didn't know what you were going to do now that you had joined the game and were stuck in this mess, and Banda only made it worse.
You should've stayed back at the tent when you woke up and felt sick to your stomach as if you ingested something you weren't supposed to. You shouldn't have listened to Banda convincing you to come with him to the game. You should've abandoned him when you had the chance in the middle of the night. There were so many things you should've done instead, but they didn't matter now. Not when you had a feeling you fucked up beyond belief for deciding to enter this game with Banda, now you had to deal with the consequences.
“Are you alright?”
You jumped at someone talking to you, turning around to see a white haired male with a hoodie looking at you. “Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.” He added after.
“It's okay,” You shook your head, running your hand through your hair, “Just freaking out a little I guess.” You admitted quietly.
The male nodded along in agreement, his eyes wandering around the place before landing back on you. “You came in with that man, right?” He used his head to gesture to Banda who was speaking with someone else.
You nodded silently, confused as to where this was going, unsure of how your voice would even sound in this situation.
“You know he's a killer, right?”
You swore you could feel your heart drop to your stomach at those words, looking at the male in confusion, “What do you mean?” You asked hesitantly.
“Well,” The man leaned closer towards you, “His name is Banda Sunato, he was on death row for killing multiple women back in the real world.” He told you.
It felt like all the dots were connecting in your mind, and when you realized, you knew it was too late. “Oh God.”
“I wouldn't pray to God just yet, the game has hardly even started.” The mysterious man said with a light chuckle.
Suddenly, you started to feel dizzy, grasping onto your head to keep yourself steady, you could feel yourself swaying back and forth, making the man next to you look at you confused.
“Is something wrong?”
“That son of a bitch.” You cursed under your breath, sliding down the wall and sitting on the ground.
When you looked in front of you, you saw Banda sitting across from you, staring at you intimidatingly, making you shift around uncomfortably, looking away quickly.
He knew you were starting to figure it out. He knew what you were feeling, having done it many times before. Shit, he wished he could smile in this situation, but he didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to himself by smiling creepily at you from across the room. He could see you connecting the dots in your mind just by your eyes, the fact your eyes went wide when you did realize made a small smirk grow on his face.
It was the same with every victim of his. He would toy with them as if he was a good guy, only to break them when they least expected it. It wasn't his fault he took the one and possibly only chance he was going to get. You were trusting him, that's what he wanted. For you to trust him so you wouldn't dare to think he of all people would attempt and kill you. So that he could play the part just a little longer than usual, wanting you to become so dependent on him that you would end up crawling back to him. He enjoyed that. Seeing the people he killed crawl to him, bloody just like his hands, begging for him to not kill them, asking for forgiveness. But he would never forgive them. Why would he? It's not like he knew his victims well enough to give them a few reassuring last words, he could care less. But you were already different from the others. Smarter, even if only by a little bit. It was enough for him to plan it out more accordingly.
He had a feeling you didn't trust him completely, with how little you were telling him about yourself, you were making it more difficult for him. That's why when it was announced there would be a second stage of games, he knew he had a second chance. A chance to get you to at least trust him a little bit, and it worked. While you were a little smarter than the rest, you were still stupider than him. That's what mattered most. As long as you remained in the dark of his true motives, it would all work in his favor. For a moment, Banda thought you might not fall for it, but after handing you the food the night before, seeing you eat it without a second thought, he was ecstatic.
Killing others always gave Banda a rush, one that normal people would be frightened over once realizing they were a psychopath. But not him. He enjoyed the feeling. The adrenaline flowing through his body as he stood over another body, smirking down at them as if they were some sort of toy of his. The feeling of accomplishment when he hides them so expertly that the police just label it as another missing person and ultimately close the case. The way it made him feel was something he never wanted to get rid of. Almost as if killing was a drug he was addicted to, he couldn't stop, he didn't want to stop, he wanted to keep going for as long as he could until he died. Nothing would change that.
While Banda was praising himself in his head, you felt like you were going to die. You have never hated yourself more than right now, not once in your whole life did you hate yourself like you did right now. For being so stupid, so naïve to think that he was a good man, that he wasn't some crazy person when he was. You couldn't believe how stupid you were. You felt like you might pass out at any moment, but knew nothing would happen because technically he did it before you both entered the venue therefore it wasn't against the rules of not being allowed to kill another player. You had no clue what to do, starting to freak out as the white haired male next to you noticed immediately that Banda was continuing to stare at you as you began to lose it, making him walk away, leaving you in the corner alone.
You were able to get through the first few rounds, thankfully with the help of the mysterious man who's name you learned was Chishiya. You don't know why he was helping you, but you weren't going to complain when you figured you wouldn't end up surviving much longer anyways. You felt worse than before, barely being able to keep your eyes open as you laid up against the wall, hair sticking to your forehead due to there being no AC unit in the prison when you heard footsteps approach you.
“Well, you aren't looking so good, are you?”
Everything in your body froze at the voice you heard. Banda. You carefully opened your eyes to look at him who was crouching down in front of you. “What the fuck did you do to me?” You spat at him.
“So aggressive,” Banda muttered, shaking his head. “I didn't do anything to you, you must have gotten sick last night.” He answered, reaching one of his hands to rest on your knee. “Maybe the food was expired.”
“Bullshit,” You smacked his hand off of you before he grabbed yours by the wrist tightly.
“Don't.” He told you in a low tone. “I might not be able to kill you here but I can get you to that very brim of life and death if I want to.”
You stared back at him with your eyes wide, nodding your head and he then let go of your hand. You tried to scoot yourself away from him but only ended up hitting the wall behind you. “Why did you do this to me?”
Banda shrugged, “Because I wanted to. Nothing more than that.” He answered simply.
“You're serious?” You asked, leaning your head back against the wall.
“Yes,” He nodded, “You seemed like a good person for it and I took that chance. It's not my fault you were too stupid to realize it.”
“Fuck you,” You replied angrily.
Banda let out a ‘tsh’ under his breath at your cursing before standing up and looking down at you, “You should be thankful I’m doing it this way. It's normally much bloodier. Be grateful I’m feeling generous,” He said to you, lifting your head up to look at him with his hand. “Trust me, you’ll be gone in the next round.” He told you before letting go of you and walking away.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding in, suddenly shaking in your whole body as you tried to calm down. He is really trying to kill you, you were right. It must have been something in the food he had given you. That's the only reason you could think of that would make reasonable sense. The only problem was that now it was too late. With no way to get your stomach pumped or go to a hospital, you were bound to die soon. Your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest, your head was spinning and you felt like you were going to pass out. You didn't know what to do now, what could you even do really? The drug was taking full effect now, and there was nothing you could do to try and fix it. “I’m gonna die here.” You said as you closed your eyes, trying to steady your breathing.
Suddenly, you felt yourself getting picked up, and you tried to open your eyes to see who it was, but everything was becoming a blur, only being able to see colors. When you were laid back down, it was cold and sent a chill down your spine as you looked around in an attempt to see where you were. Your eyes finally focused and you realized you were in one of the cells and your eyes went wide, quickly glancing around the room before landing on Banda who was standing before you.
“What are you doing?” You asked him, backing up until you hit the wall while sitting down.
“I’m helping you, of course,” Banda responded like it was obvious. “I’m going to tell you your suit.”
“What?” You looked at him confused. “You're just going to lie to me.”
“Will I?” He said. “Maybe, but that's up for you to decide, not me. I will tell you your suit, and you firgure out if you believe it or not. It's a heart.”
“Don't fuck with me,” You scoffed, looking away from him. “I’m not going to trust anything you say.”
Banda tilted his head to the side, “Anything?” He asked. He took a few steps towards you and crouched down next to you, “And what if I told you that you're simply overreacting? That really, you're just sick and want some excuse to get away from me. I would never want to kill you.” He said to you quietly.
Your breath hitched in your throat at his words, hesitantly looking over at him and shaking your head, “No, you poisoned me.”
“How would I do that in a world like this?” He said, “There's no logical way that I would be able to poison you with such limited supplies we have here. You're just making up excuses.” He spoke slowly so you could hear and process every word carefully, talking in a tone that had you listening to him anyways and beginning to believe him. “You're thinking, now that you know what I am you want to get away from me as fast as possible, but I would never do something like poison you. You got sick and are overreacting because of the game we are in now. That's all there is to it.”
You shook your head again, bringing your hands up to cover your ears so you wouldn't be able to hear him anymore. “No, y-you're trying to k-kill me, I k-know it.”
Banda sighed, standing up again and peering at you from above, “Whatever you say. You're going to die in that cell, anyways.” He said to you before walking out of the room and turning around to look at you. “I hope you realize that you should never trust certain people, especially people like me.” He told you before closing the door to the cell with a loud thud.
You removed your hands from your ears and didn't move from your spot, on the verge of crying once understanding that there was 5 minutes left of the round and you would have to guess soon. Your whole body was shaking and you didn't bother trying to calm down anymore, you were going to die. It was bound to happen, now. With Banda most likely lying to you about your suit, you were on the brink of just giving up. Your arms slouched to your sides as you stared up at the ceiling, a few stray tears falling down from your eyes as the voice on the speakers said to tell the mark. You took a deep breath, closing your eyes and waiting for the buzzer that indicates the round is over.
This was what you deserved. For being so stupid to think that maybe he wasn't that bad of a man, that he just was a little odd at times. You realized that now. This was your time to die, and you had deserved it for all of what you did starting by talking to him, then helping him, then staying with him, to now. Everything you did lead up to this moment, you understood that. All because you wanted to believe there was something better in him, but you should've known to never trust men like Banda Sunato.
“H-Heart,” You said aloud, more tears falling down your face. “Heart!”
The buzzer then went off, and the collar around your neck exploded, leaving you dead on the ground in the cell, blood pooling around your body with your eyes open. You had fallen into the trap he had laid out just for you, and this was the result of that. He lied to you from the very beginning, you just couldn't see it.
But he didn't care, he walked right on past the cell like it was nothing, a smirk on his face when he saw your picture fade out on the giant screen knowing he had done it successfully. You were just another toy of his, and like all of those other toys,
you broke.

hello! can you write a sunato banda fic or maybe headcanons?
# — YOUR TOUCH
ft. sunato banda x gn!reader
summary: relationship headcanons for sunato banda (within the borderlands + after clearing all games)
will contain some minor spoilers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• banda would probably have approached you in the same way he did matsushita, with one of his character-analysis rants that he finishes off with "let's be friends."
• he'd decide whether he likes you/finds you interesting or not pretty quickly. once his mind is made up, it's impossible to separate you two
• your relationship develops very fast and you become very close within a very short time span. the way he sees it, why would you wait to become official partners if you know that you both like each other?
• he would be protective to an extent, but once you're dating he knows that you can definitely handle yourself and wouldn't go everywhere with you all the time. that being said, he's also wildly possessive so good luck trying to shake him when you're both together in a group of people
• he has absolutely no issue with threatening people who make you uncomfortable or behave badly towards you
• definitely the type to get jealous and also has no shame. if someone else is flirting with you he'll kiss you intensely right then and there, and when he's done he'll turn to them and go "did you need something from my partner?"
• he wants to know everything about you. the type to spend countless hours listening to you talk about your life before the borderlands, family, interests etc. i doubt that he'd ever tell you to shut up, he likes listening to your voice as well
• behind closed doors i think he'd love to cuddle. takes comfort in holding you and listening to your calm breathing, and he'd also love to play with locks of your hair.
• he's not the type to show much pda unless he's jealous of someone. normally, he might hold your hand if you really want him to, but other than that will just stay next to you in games and stuff.
• he appreciates that you still stay with him even though he's a serial killer. would defo have a soft spot for you and would show a gentler side of his personality when you're alone. it would take him a while to open up though, since he needs to accurately judge whether he can trust you or not
• however, once banda's decided to trust you, he does it completely. he has full belief in your good intentions with him and doesn't doubt you in any way. he knows that you wouldn't try and manipulate or deceive him
• if you were in the jack of hearts game, he'd likely leave you to align with your own group while he targets the jack. at the end, however, when your group is all gone, he'd tell you your symbol and protect you (if you haven't already partnered with chishiya after both your friends die)
• you would probably be his first real relationship. he's likely had short ones and hook-ups before and stuff, but not an actual romantic relationship or significant other since he's never really fallen for anyone before. but now that he's fallen for you, he would definitely fall very hard in love
• you would most likely accept permanent residence and stay with banda in the borderlands. he would aspire to make you and him king and queen of hearts, because you're his princess

The bar you had decided to go to with your college classmates was getting more crowded as the night passed by. You tapped the glass of wine on the counter next to where you sat, gaze wavering blankly. You were getting tired and your classmates were showing no signs of feeling that way at all, still dancing and laughing with random people. You weren’t mad at them for leaving you there— If anything, you were glad.
The hangout had started out calmly, talking about classes and other things over drinks at the bar. You had expected them to start leaving at the sight of an attractive person looking at them a certain way or whenever the alcohol in their system pushed them out of their seats and onto the dance-floor. You liked your friends as much as anyone would, but the calmness was much appreciated.
You were pleased with the distance between all the noise and the bar counter itself, giving the impression of it all being background noise while you waited for someone to deign come back and finally say they wanted to leave.
You pulled out your phone in the meantime, checking the texts you’d sent a few minutes prior when you realized you didn’t feel like staying there anymore to see if you’d gotten a reply.
“Hey.”
You looked up at the sound of someone speaking to you. A man that looked around your age and felt just slightly familiar. You furrowed your eyebrows and tried to put a name on him— To no avail. Class, maybe? You didn’t know.
“Hi.” you greeted, more blank than you intended, “Need anything?”
The man seemed nervous. “Uh, we have classes together. Like, um, art history.” he stumbled over his words a little, then chuckled. “Sorry, I just… I’ve been interested in you for a while, and my friends convinced me to go ask you out once we saw you here… Can I… Have your number?”
You blinked. “No.” then chuckled to yourself and realized there was no need to be this cold, “I have a boyfriend. Sorry I didn’t recognize you, I don’t pay much attention to people in that class.”
“Ah, I get it, it’s pretty complicated, you have to focus a lot. Um, anyways, I didn’t mean to bother you, I’m sorry. I’ll see you in class!” he smiled tightly, seemingly trying to keep his disappointment from showing. You held up a hand and waved him goodbye, watching him walk away before redirecting your attention to your phone.
sunato
so cold. almost felt bad for him
You looked up immediately, brows furrowed, before you felt hands settle on your waist from behind you. You tensed, ready to swing back for a second. “I honestly wanna make sure you don’t see each other in class anymore.” the person said in your neck. You breathed out in relief, visibly relaxing in spite of the words you’d just heard.
“Sunato, for fuck’s sake.” you scoffed lightly, turning just enough to see him. He smiled and rubbed your sides before walking over to the barstool in front of yours.
“You called for me. Why so surprised?” he sighed, sitting down. His hands instantly reached for your half-empty glass of wine and brought it to his side. Then he looked back up at you questioningly, despite not really expecting an answer.
You tilted your head. “Because I texted you ten minutes ago.”
He shrugged. “I was nearby. Do you wanna stay a bit more or leave immediately?” he asked, fingers fiddling with the glass.
You hummed, stretching a little as you looked around. Your friends seemed way too much into their own little party. Leaving without telling them wouldn’t upset them. It had happened before, anyway. You looked back at him and nodded decisively, “Yeah, let’s go. I’m tired.”
Banda stood back up and walked over to you, holding out his hand for you to take. You set your fingers in his palm and he pulled you up, close to him. Once his face was right to yours, he whispered, “That’s a relief. I wanted you to myself.”
“Shut up.” you muttered, turning away and ignoring his smile.
“Let’s leave.”
