i love when im playing a game or watching an anime and find a sleepy girl trope. they usually end up being one of if not my favourite character!

and though sleepy girls are not naturally prone to violence tumblr loves battle… and i dont know every sleepy girl in existence, so it gives me a chance to meet more :)

heres a few rules and regulations to submitting! we must dream safely my loves:

im okay with real people being submitted, since this isnt a particularly invasive sort of thing to say about someone imo

you can also submit boys, sleepy girl is a state of mind

prime sleepy girl behavior is having being sleepy/lazy be a core part of the submission— a running gag, something related to backstory, or a current story element (like, sleeping beauty would count as a sleepy girl)

but if a submission’s visuals/theme/etc are heavily connected to sleep and dreams i will also consider them :)

kanata konoe (love live) and yuyuko tanaka (revue starlight) will already be included, youre free to still submit them if you really want, but i dont need you to!

im sure theres sleepy girls abound in eroges, so on the off chance you submit from an eroge, please just specify that its 18+ :) sleepy mod is 18 but i think its valuable to denote

"I've literally never seen a more heavily autistic coded anime girl EVER. She's everything to me 🫶🏻🫶🏻 She collects animal themed bandaids and notebooks, hunts for cool rocks on the school grounds during breaks, constantly is seen in the background lining things up perfectly or organizing them by color, and writes songs from journal entries she's made in the past about not feeling like a human because she's different in a bad way from everyone else. She has a hard time with change and an even harder time making friends because most other people can't follow her ways of thinking and get put off by the difference between her quiet shy masking state and the intense excited infodumping state she goes into when someone brings up a special interest. Every part of the anime that's narrated from her point of view is so raw and intimately relatable from an autistic view, there's absolutely no way there wasn't at least one member of the writing team that's autistic who designed her character to be autistic. I love Tomori she's The Girl Ever 🫶🏻🫶🏻💖💖."

In Defense of Izumi:

she's director of a troupe of actors and included in the people she recruits for said troupe are: a prince who fled from his homeland and is currently being chased down, a guy who had previously been living in the dorms after breaking in that everyone thought was a ghost, the yakuza debt collector she met on her first day, former leader of a biker gang who is implied to have confessed to murder on stage, a man that showed up passed out on their front doorstep (which, when he woke up, she immediately asked if he was interested in acting. he could not remember who he was), a member of a secret crime organization who kidnapped her to get back at the amnesiac, the heir to the yakuza clan the debt collector is from, And More. The other actors routinely commented on how crazy she was for just offering a spot in the troupe to everybody. She also is infatuated with curry and can and will talk for 5 hours about different spice combinations. One character gave her a nickname basically saying she's from planet curry. when the one guy kidnapped her, she was not concerned at All and instead made him run lines with her. He tried to ignore her. it did not work. She has two things on her mind always: curry and her actors.

In Defense of Tae:

Tae is Poppin' Party's resident airhead. She is very smart in regards to music but is generally very aloof and in her own world. She daydreams a lot and says a lot of weird and random things. She has over 20 pet rabbits that she is obsessed with. She's constantly thinking about them and will often bring them up out of nowhere. She even jokes about one being her boyfriend.

"she's the weird little girl rep we all deserve!! she's a genius when it comes to anime, but she relies on the help of her friends to interact with people. she makes weird faces and weird movements and she gets absorbed in what she's doing all the time, she'll also start working on her projects whenever the inspiration strikes her, no matter where she is or what she's already doing. it's been over a year since I watched the anime so I can't give any concrete examples but I remember thinking "she's so autistic fr" every time she showed up onscreen when I was watching. she's my odd little daughter & she deserves the world <3"
