Dark Feminine Energy(Jyestha Nakshatra) + Mercury Ruled Nakshatras
Alexa Demie, Jyestha Sun
Jyestha opposes the sweetly coated nakshatra of Rohini, which is a nakshatra of abundance & joy and being internally satisfied thus outwardly not doing much. But in Jyestha, it’s where you are internally unsatisfied thus outwardly you do everything to achieve satisfaction thus making you outwardly abundant and full of richness. They get more inward satisfaction after outer satisfaction. This nakshatra is connected to Alakshmi, Lakshmi’s jealous, hungry sister.
Naomi Campbell, Jyestha Moon
Alakshmi means ‘Not Lakshmi’, so Alakshmi is everything opposite of Lakshmi. Lakshmi loves sugar and sweets while Alakshmi loves spice. Alakshmi is literally everything you neeed to know on why Jyestha’s have such a dark feminine power. They are not trying to satisfy a male force but more trying to satisfy themselves. This nakshatra has a similar energy to Chitra but Chitra’s are nurturing when it comes to male energy just like Maddy Perez(Jyestha Sun, Chitra Moon) . Alexa Demie’s Chitra Moon made her character in euphoria more sympathetic to the toxicity of Nate.

Jyestha Moon, Shomi Kaiser & Jyestha Sun Alexa Demie
People spotting Jyestha energy. It mostly has to do with energy not the physical
Jennie Kim, Jyestha ASC
Jennie’s birth time is unreliable but for now i will use her for Jyestha and maybe the frequent comparison between her and Alexa Demie could be because of Jyestha

Tyra Banks, Jyestha Sun & Megan Ewing, Jyestha Moon
This Nakshatra’s dark feminine energy tends to extend towards it’s trine nakshatras too( Ashlesha and Revati)
Kim Kardashian, Jyestha ASC
A Side Note: Ashlesha is the stage where a woman awakens to her sexuality and master it

Megan Fox, Ashlesha Moon & Angelina Jolie, Revati Moon
You’ll notice Mercury ruled nakshatras have alot of sexual energy and give a sexual or terrifying vibe

Barbara Mori, Revati ASC & Adriana Lima, Jyestha ASC

This image is so Jyestha CODED(Chitra as well)

(In no way meant to be pressurizing) but I cannot stop thinking about the world of Borderline and the repercussions for the batfamily. They must be inundated with new facts about themselves (on the tuna sandwich level of nicknames they revile or secretly adore) and the breakdown of past beliefs about each other when accidental memories or anger lashes out (irrationally) but it must still be shocking to cope with, and try to force yourself to be rational, both of you stung by the thoughts alone. Also considering that these guys are so busy and independent it must be a shock to their systems to be close and then be unable to escape one another. I don't know, you've created such a compelling narrative that I'm waiting for the fanfiction of the fanfiction.
The possibilities are so chilling but so intriguing, right? borderline takes up like 20% of my writing thoughts on a good day. The idea of someone knowing you just as well as you know yourself makes me physically shiver, but there's also something so reassuring about it. You can depend on them for anything -- and eventually that turns into outright dependence. You become so intertwined and linked that beliefs, memories, and even present emotions aren't wholly yours or theirs.
What compels me about their bond specifically is that they can't break it, despite their best efforts. And as time goes on, they don't want to. Or, at least, that strange kind of protectiveness/possessiveness starts to overtake the urge to be discrete. Despite the obvious drawbacks, such as a lack of intimacy, of true privacy, of personhood. It's an inevitable meshing of people and minds, and it's hard to tell where it will stop.
You will eventually crave what hurts you and takes away from you. And by the time you notice how much the bond has taken away from you, it's too late. Because you won't care anymore. It's a self sustaining cycle of horror and resignation.
It's freaky, and I don't mean to get too ominous about future sequels because I don't think it'll all be doom and gloom. The moments of euphoria they have in borderline are so high, right? So beautiful. They work better than they ever have. They've crossed years of trauma and resignation in a single week. Gotham is at their fingertips, instead of hanging in the periphery.
But how do you decide when things have gone too far? How do you stave off what feels inevitable? How does Jason pull Dick back from the edge of talonization without knowing him better than Barbara? How does Alfred stand on the periphery and watch Bruce absorb into his children and vice versa? Do the opinions of others even matter, when they always have their web?
#sorry for the rambling#just some guiding questions for me to come back to#if anyone would like to write fics off of borderline please lmk!!#I want to read them haha#borderline#myfic#theresurrectionist#batfamily#bruce wayne#dc#dc comics

I was thinking about my love of rare, obscure words and specifically rare obscure words that give names to complex indescribable emotions that can't always be put into words (and thank you John Koenig for popularizing such a fascinating and necessary study!). And in following up to my post about Nosferatu, Ellen Hutter and the core roots and elements of gothic romance and gothic horror, and its depiction and exploration of female sexuality, rage, desire, melancholia, eroticism, madness, repressed dark erotic desires, insanity and the ecstasy in having dark, twisted, sexual and erotic desires + the push and pull of running from darkness vs running towards it (and more so thanks to Lily Rose-Depp's pitch perfect, haunting and chilling portrayal of Ellen in the movie), I managed to find a rare obscure word that gives name to this complex emotion: sonderwalt. And sonderwalt is as described:
A term that encapsulates that indescribable, complex emotion consisting of sadness, fear, ecstasy, insanity, euphoria, wistful yearning, erotic desire, madness and repressed longing. It represents the profound duality of fearing the darkness while simultaneously wanting to surrender to and be consumed by it, inviting a dark joy and erotic pleasure that thrives on this internal conflict.
That sums up Ellen Hutter to a T. Heck, that especially sums up the exploration of the monstrous feminine within the gothic and gothic romance/horror context and subtext to a T. And the monstrous feminine, as coined by Barbara Creed, is defined as female monsters who are often depicted as monstrous for reasons relating to their bodies, gender and sexuality. Now in regards to Ellen's character and arc in Nosferatu '24, this element is very much palpably there albeit subtly, but it's the way Robert Eggers fleshes it out and gives it a slow burn build up and then deconstructs it that makes the complexities of it and Ellen stand out the most. And it's both Ellen's question to Prof. von Franz of "Does evil come from within us, or beyond?" earlier in the movie and then later on, Count Orlok's statement to Ellen that she is not for the living and that he's only an appetite and embodiment of her repressed dark desires that both makes the trope and element of the monstrous feminine more apparent yet with some subtlety and ambiguity over whether Orlok is just a representation and manifestion of Ellen's repressed dark erotic desires and inner darkness in general along with Orlok being an actual very real figure of paranormal/supernatural menace and danger, or if Orlok being a figure of paranormal/supernatural menace and danger is a direct result of Ellen's inner darkness as well as any unconscious otherworldly abilities that Ellen unknowingly has that woke Orlok out of his slumber, which are all also in turn an indicator of Ellen herself unknowingly being an otherworldly figure like an enchantress of some sort, just wrapped in mortal skin, and then even that tipping over into being an extended, quietly symbolic metaphor for Ellen's otherness and being an outcast. Frankly, I personally prefer to think it's all of the above. And all this makes Ellen one of the most complex and compelling gothic heroines on screen, and it makes the word sonderwalt the most fitting and accurate word to describe her.
#nosferatu 2024#ellen hutter#goth#gothic horror#gothic romance#monstrous feminine#goodness I could analyze this movie and Ellen for days

🎤✨ Fandoms, Fanfic, and Eurovision: A Perfect (Chaotic) Match
I don’t write with music. I write in silence. Not absolute silence — the fridge hums, neighbors exist, the cat does things — but still, silence. It’s how I focus. That’s just how my brain works. 🧠📄
I don’t know if I’m in the minority here, but judging by the sheer number of fanfic authors who swear by playlists, character theme songs, "songs that sound like slow burn enemies to lovers in the rain," etc. — I might be.
And today? Today is Eurovision. Which means fic writers who write with music are probably vibrating with joy.✨🎆🎧 Honestly, we all should be. Because how can anyone be sad on the day we celebrate The Festival of the Song™?
So in the spirit of musical chaos and fandom magic, here’s a list of popular fandoms & ships — assigned Eurovision songs (from this year and all-time icons) that I believe spiritually match their energy:
🦇 Superbat (Clark/Bruce) → "Zitti e buoni" – Måneskin (Italy 2021) ✨ Gritty glam. Brooding punk. The line “non parlate della mia vita” is literally Bruce Wayne energy. Clark listens, kisses him anyway.
💘 Dramione (Draco/Hermione) → "SloMo" – Chanel (Spain 2022) High drama. High tension. Chemistry off the charts. Hermione is here to destroy him slowly, and he thanks her for it.
🐍 Drarry (Harry/Draco) → "Euphoria" – Loreen (Sweden 2012) Enemies to lovers? Magical obsession? Emotional repression followed by full-body catharsis under rain? It’s this one. Always.
💔 Katniss/Peeta – The Hunger Games → "Soldi" – Mahmood (Italy 2019) A beat that slaps but lyrics that hurt. This one goes out to complicated trauma bonds, rebellion aesthetics, and hidden tenderness.
✨ Feyre/Rhysand – ACOTAR → "Tattoo" – Loreen (Sweden 2023) Dramatic, magical, sensual. You know Feyre would hear this and astrally project straight to Velaris.
🧙♂️ Aragorn/Arwen – The Lord of the Rings → "Only Teardrops" – Emmelie de Forest (Denmark 2013) Destiny, sacrifice, ethereal beauty — a song for lovers who choose each other despite the years, the crowns, and the wars.
⚡ Percabeth (Percy/Annabeth – PJO) → "Satellite" – Lena (Germany 2010) Quirky, devoted, and just the right amount of chaos. Annabeth is 100% the satellite in question. And she’s tired of his seaweed brain.
👑 Elizabeth/Darcy – Pride & Prejudice → "Waterloo" – ABBA (Sweden 1974) Listen. She lost the battle, and he lost it harder. This is the enemies-to-lovers anthem of literature. Period.
🐺 Remus/Sirius – Harry Potter → "Hard Rock Hallelujah" – Lordi (Finland 2006) Messy boys. Bitten boys. Undead metaphors and emotional trauma. Angst in eyeliner. And a howl at the full moon.
⛸️ Yuuri x Victor – Yuri on Ice → "Rise Like a Phoenix" – Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014) Transformation, elegance, overcoming shame, finding love on the ice — the drama and glamour is immaculate.
🌀 Gojo/Satoru x Geto/Suguru – Jujutsu Kaisen → "Voilà" – Barbara Pravi (France 2021) One loved too loudly, one never enough. Tragedy, betrayal, and a yearning that spills from every frame. Cursed? Yes. Iconic? Also yes.
🔥 Denji x Power – Chainsaw Man → "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" – France Gall (Luxembourg 1965) From Eurovision’s early days: chaotic, deceptively sweet, and weirdly perfect for two disaster teenagers who eat toast and kill devils.
Anyway. To all my fellow writers out there, whether you blast playlists or sit in ominous silence like I do: Happy Eurovision. Happy fanfic. May your angst be poetic, your fluff unhinged, and your chosen banger hit just right when you write That Scene™.
🎶💻Let the fandom music never stop.

Ten years after the One Direction shows, Louis Tomlinson returned to Vélez to make the stadium vibrate
The 32-year-old British singer showed off on a cold night, to which he knew how to change the temperature with his music and his fans,
"This is fucking crazy. Sing with me!" he said in one of his many interactions with the public.

After a brief promotional visit, British singer Louis Tomlinson (32 years old) returned to Argentina with his world tour Faith in the Future to offer an electric and unforgettable show this Saturday at the José Amalfitani. The Vélez stadium was the epicenter of a night full of emotions, where euphoria and nostalgia mixed in the air when the former member of One Direction took the same stage that he shared with the British-Irish band in his two shows of 10 years ago.
Unlike the tour that brought him to the country in 2022 to present his debut album Walls at the Movistar Arena, this time Louis was accompanied by another former member of the band, Liam Payne, who at 20.40 caused a great surprise by appearing on the northern preferential stage of the court to enjoy the concert from a private box.
As it could not be otherwise, when they saw him, the fans sang his name in unison: "Liam, Liam! Liam, Liam!", a gesture that did not go unnoticed for the English singer who decided to leave the box for a few seconds to say hello, smiling and lively.
After 21.15, the reflectors that illuminated the stadium suddenly went out to start the concert, which took place on an almost winter night that was felt to the bones due to the low temperatures that reached a minimum of 8°. But nothing and no one could tarnish the party that was about to begin.
It was then that the stadium became a tide of cell phones ready to record the triumphant arrival of Louis Tomlinson, who when he met again with his audience after two years, began to sing the opening song, The Greatest, which is part of his second album that gives its name to the world tour.

In this way, the performer led an almost two-hour show whose setlist was made up of 21 songs, 16 of which belong to his first two albums: Walls and Faith In The Future.
He also performed Night Changes and Where Do Broken Hearts Go?, two iconic songs from One Direction's album Four (2014) that reverted from pop to rock to accompany the live sound of his solo project crossed by musical influences of Britpop and Brit Rock.
Tomlinson and his fans, an indestructible bond
Over the years, on more than one occasion, the British singer was frank about the close bond that unites him to his fans around the world, who for shows usually organize fan projects - massive creative actions organized on social networks to deploy at different moments of a concert - and when playing his first solo show in an Argentine stadium, it was no different.

The first one that was seen on the Vélez court occurred during the second song, Kill My Mind. "This is absolutely crazy. Sing with me!" exclaimed Tomlinson, visibly surprised, realizing that the stadium had turned into a great tide of white lights that moved up and down as he sang the bridge of the song "Kill my, kill my, kill my."
Other fan projects that stood out throughout the night were given during the performance of Saturday, which consisted of printing white posters with the black legend that read "This saturday takes the pain away", a phrase that alludes to the lyrics.

For Out of My System, the public was organized to have white and red handkerchiefs, characteristic colors of the album Faith in the Future and to be able to wave them at the beginning of the song and also in the choruses, which generated a real rock climate.
"Buenos Aires, I need to talk because this is fucking crazy! I want to start the show by thanking each of the people who are here tonight. You’ve blown my mind!" said the singer from Doncaster, United Kingdom, obnce the concert began.
In the middle of his speech, Tomlinson was honest about how shocked he felt at the warm welcome he received at the José Amalfitani stadium: "Maybe you have a different opinion, but I never, not even in a fucking million years, expected to be alone on a stage of this size, and be proud for me, I can feel it, but be proud of yourself for what we create together."
"This is incredible but... Jesus, it’s fucking cold!" was one of the many comments that Louis made, with a funny tone throughout the cold night.

When singing the sixth song We Made It, he made sure to go through the stage from end to end and also used the catwalk to be in contact with the largest number of people present in the audience.
Then, he asked his loyal fans that by singing it "to think about how far we’ve come together" referring to the ups and downs he faced after the end of One Direction in 2015 that meant five years of global success and the uncertainties he overcame to encourage himself to launch his career as a solo singer in 2020. And by way of support, the audience sang in unison: "Olé olé olé olé, Louis, Louis!"
As if time had not passed and it was still 2014, fans chanted every word of the hits Night Changes and Where Do Broken Hearts Go?, which marked One Direction's career. The band has left precedents that, although no longer active, left a mark with its discography for more than a generation.
As the concert came to the end, Tomlinson said: "Tonight I enjoyed every second, except for the cold" in terms of how he experienced the concert he gave in Argentina after 2 years.
"Every one of you has been incredible. It feels fucking good to play in a stadium of this size, feel so good on stage and have all of you here so again, thank you, thank you, thank you," Louis thanked his fans for the last time before warning that there was only one song left in the repertoire: Silver Tongues to recognize that he was not ready for the concert to end: "I don't want this to end but we have to.”
As it usually happens and it has already become a tradition during his concerts, Louis came down from the stage to approach the fans who were on the barricades at the front, and thus interact with them and greet them up close.

1-Dr. Roland Welby
Played by Scott McCord (Tarragon Theatre) & Jacob Richmond (Waterfront Theatre)
Dr. Roland Welby is North America’s leading neurochemist. Offbeat, rational, smart and emotionless. He suffered a mental break after his mother’s death, and invented a drug which blocks out emotion. He believes happiness is impossible for creatures who must die, Time + Expectation Of Euphoria = Perpetual Disappointment. And all that. He is the main character, and the crux of the story seems to be his relationships with other characters when his drug is taken away.
“"The Qualities of Zero" traces the experiences of neurochemist Dr. Roland Welby as he attempts to comes to terms with the death of his mother. He is a highly self-conscious genius whose hyperrational view of the world prevents him from telling or understanding jokes without explaining them. At career day at a kindergarten, Welby, still stricken with grief, strays from his topic to explain why happiness is impossible to beings who must die. His summary equation is T + EOE = PD, that is "Time plus expectation of euphoria equals perpetual disappointment". The fiasco at the school leads him to test a new drug he has developed on himself. The drug can completely block the emotional highs and lows produced by the limbic system, "happy-mad-sad land" as he calls it, thus allowing him to feel "zero" when confronting the world around him.” (Source 1, 2001)
“It is a set of variations on emotionless-hyperintellectual-confronts-embarrassing-situation, where Welby is compelled to evaluate everything, even sex and death, in term of advantages versus disadvantages.” (Source 1, 2001)
“Much of the humour lies in the odd rhythm of the script that continually requires Welby to catch onto things several beats after everyone else.” (Source 1, 2001)
”Although Welby's drug controls his emotions, it cannot protect him from those of others and by the end when his supply has been cut off he is entangled in the web his interactions with others has created.” (Source 1, 2001)
“…North America's leading Neuroscientist (Roland Welby)…” (Source 3, 2006)
“After the death of his mother, and becoming dangerously unhinged while giving a lecture in a grade four career day, Doctor Roland Welby decides to forgo the traditional methods of overcoming grief and madness by taking his own experimental drug that makes him feel absolutely nothing.” (Source 3, 2006)
“When the drug is finally removed Roland is forced to deal with the people in his life on an emotional level he was never comfortable expressing.” (Source 3, 2006)
“…Roland, a nutty neuro-scientist who develops a serum that neutralizes emotions, a serum he regularly injects into his neck. You can see why he’d want to be able to control himself, surrounded as he is by problems and temptations…” (Source 4, 2006)
2-Rideau Welby
Played by Robert Tsonos (Tarragon Theatre) & Jeff Gladstone (Waterfront Theatre).
Rideau is Roland’s brother. He is schizophrenic, and was just recently taken out of a psychiatric hospital. He is obsessed with eating Charlemagne’s cheese.
“Welby's brother Rideau is a schizophrenic obsessed with Charlemagne's cheese-consumption who decides to go off his thorazine after leaving a mental home.” (Source 1, 2001)
“…and finally his (Welby’s) brother Rideau (A recent exile from a mental institution).” (Source 3, 2006)
“…a crazy brother (Jeff Gladstone)…” (Source 4, 2006)
3-Welby’s Father (minor character)
Does not appear in play.
Dead. Seemingly for a while, like since Welby was quite young.
”When Welby's father died…” (Source 1, 2001)
4-Welby’s Mother (minor character)
Does not appear in play.
Dead. An alcoholic, since her husband died. She opened an all-year Christmas store, since Christmas is the happiest day of the year.
“When Welby's father died his mother became an alcoholic and opened a Christmas store to live the happiest day of the year year-round.” (Source 1, 2001)
5-Dr. Tom Selkin
Played by Rodger Barton (Tarragon Theatre) & Micheal Delamont (Waterfront Theatre)
Welby’s boss in 2001 and his coworker in 2006. It is unclear. He wants to be Spanish pirate, and Welby proves that all his stuff is useless. That causes him to go off the rails and after Welby.
“Welby's boss fantasizes that he is a Spanish pirate and when Welby's research proves that his life's work is worthless, he goes berserk and seeks revenge.” (Source 1, 2001)
“Among the people Roland must deal with are Doctor Selkin (A man obsessed with becoming Spanish)” (Source 3, 2006)
“…an overwrought colleague who has it in for him (Michael Delamont)…” (Source 4, 2006)
6-Smelsh (minor character)
Played by Rodger Barton (Tarragon Theatre) & Micheal Delamont (Waterfront Theatre)
Welby’s foul-mouthed landlord.
“Welby’s foul-mouthed landlord.” (Source 1, 2001).
7-Teacher (minor character)
Played by Barbara Gordon (Tarragon Theatre) & Gina McIntosh (Waterfront Theatre)
A teacher. Shocker. Very uptight and ‘prim’.
“…the too-prim Teacher whose class Welby disrupts…” (Source 1, 2001)
8-Aurora Selkin
Played by Barbara Gordon (Tarragon Theatre) & Gina McIntosh (Waterfront Theatre)
The CEO of the company Dr. Metcalf, Dr. (Tom) Selkin and Dr. Welby work for in 2001, and their boss in 2006. She is Dr. Tom Selkin’s ex-wife, as she divorces him for Dr. Welby. She’s desperate for Welby, seemingly because she is being neglected by her husband. He’s likely going after Welby, working or fantasizing about being a Spanish pirate.
“The boss's wife and CEO of the company both work for is dangerously unhinged after divorcing her husband and throws herself at Welby.” (Source 1, 2001)
“…the sex-starved CEO (Aurora).” (Source 1, 2001)
“…His (Welby’s) boss Aurora Selkin (a cosmetic surgery fanatic)” (Source 3, 2006)
”..the colleague’s sexy wife, also Roland’s boss (Gina McIntosh)…” (Source 4, 2006)
9-Renè Metcalf / Rene Metcalf
Played by Carly Street (Tarragon Theatre) & Celine Stubel (Waterfront Theatre)
Renè, Welby’s lab partner, is obsessed with death. She’s a vegetarian/vegan (according to which article you read) and buries all the dead lab animals in her backyard. She’s sensitive and shy, and Welby’s love interest, his attraction to her persisting through the drug. She sees life, death and happiness in a seemingly opposite way to Welby.
“The lab partner Welby is attracted to despite the drug's control is a death-obsessed vegetarian who buries all the deceased lab animals in her back yard.” (Source 1, 2001)
“Carly Street puts in a winning performance as Welby's potential girlfriend lending her a shyness and sensitivity that make sense of René's funerary proclivities.” (Source 1, 2001)
”His (Welby’s) lab partner Rene Metcalf (A death obsessed Vegan).” (Source 3, 2006)
”…and his (Welby’s) lovely lab partner (Stubel), to whom Roland is intensely attracted, but thinks he doesn’t want to be…” (Source 4, 2006)
10-Danny
Played by John Cleland (Tarragon Theatre) & Rod Peter Jr. (Waterfront Theatre)
He’s buddhist, he’s a druggie, kinda crazy and has a terrible secret.
“Welby's dope-smoking neighbour has a theory about the unity of all religions and harbours a terrible secret.” (Source 1, 2001).
“His (Welby’s) next door neighbour Danny (A Buddhist pot head who harbours a terrible secret).” (Source 3, 2006)
“…a wacko neighbour (Rod Peter, Jr.)…” (Source 4, 2006)
Story:
The story is about Dr. Welby’s interactions with other characters and their relationships.
What can be said about the story is what can be said about the characters. All the articles set you up with character concepts and leaves the story to you.
The drug can completely block the emotional highs and lows produced by the limbic system, "happy-mad-sad land" as he calls it, thus allowing him to feel "zero" when confronting the world around him.
Madness and attempts to cope with it imbue every aspect of the play. When Welby's father died his mother became an alcoholic and opened a Christmas store to live the happiest day of the year year-round. Welby's brother Rideau is a schizophrenic obsessed with Charlemagne's cheese-consumption who decides to go off his thorazine after leaving a mental home. Welby's boss fantasizes that he is a Spanish pirate and when Welby's research proves that his life's work is worthless, he goes berserk and seeks revenge. The boss's wife and CEO of the company both work for is dangerously unhinged after divorcing her husband and throws herself at Welby. The lab partner Welby is attracted to despite the drug's control is a death-obsessed vegetarian who buries all the deceased lab animals in her back yard. Welby's dope-smoking neighbour has a theory about the unity of all religions and harbours a terrible secret. Although Welby's drug controls his emotions, it cannot protect him from those of others and by the end when his supply has been cut off he is entangled in the web his interactions with others has created.” (Source 1, 2001).
“Set in the synapses of North America's leading Neuroscientist (Roland Welby), we are taken on a scientific\dramatic lecture to ask is the pursuit of happiness even possible? The answer comes in form of a philosophical sex farce, with elements of modern dance, slapstick and tragedy. After the death of his mother, and becoming dangerously unhinged while giving a lecture in a grade four career day, Doctor Roland Welby decides to forgo the traditional methods of overcoming grief and madness by taking his own experimental drug that makes him feel absolutely nothing. Among the people Roland must deal with are Doctor Selkin (A man obsessed with becoming Spanish), his next door neighbour Danny (A Buddhist pot head who harbours a terrible secret), His boss Aurora Selkin (a cosmetic surgery fanatic) His lab partner Rene Metcalf (A death obsessed Vegan) and finally his brother Rideau (A recent exile from a mental institution). When the drug is finally removed Roland is forced to deal with the people in his life on an emotional level he was never comfortable expressing.” (Source 3, 2006)
”Richmond plays Roland, a nutty neuro-scientist who develops a serum that neutralizes emotions, a serum he regularly injects into his neck. You can see why he’d want to be able to control himself, surrounded as he is by problems and temptations: a crazy brother (Jeff Gladstone), an overwrought colleague who has it in for him (Michael Delamont), the colleague’s sexy wife, also Roland’s boss (Gina McIntosh), a wacko neighbour (Rod Peter, Jr.), and his lovely lab partner (Stubel), to whom Roland is intensely attracted, but thinks he doesn’t want to be.” (Source 4, 2006)
Set and costumes:
“The set is grey and very basic as befits the mostly institutional settings. Kessler makes good use of a digital projector to show titles for each of the scenes or "Observations" as Welby calls them. Joanne Dente's costumes are always appropriate and are especially witty for the more stereotyped characters . Given the plain set, Rick Banville's precise, inventive lighting and John Mounsteven's atmospheric sound are crucial in establishing mood and location.” (Source 1, 2001).
“Before the show begins, the projector displays significant quotations from Einstein, Santayana and Pascal all indicating the futility of Welby's experiment. The one by Einstein could be the motto for the whole play: "Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods." “ (Source 1, 2001)
“Much chaos ensues, with director Small impressively controlling the traffic and choreographing terrifically clever transitions, especially via a rotating door. The performances are all very fine, with Richmond’s lurching deadpan Roland the standout.” (Source 4, 3006)
”Qualities of Zero is a full-length play for 6 actors written by Jacob Richmond: a comedy about a neuroscientist who self-prescribes his experimental drug as he starts to become dangerously unhinged.” (Source 5)

DC universe story arc idea (may have been done, but I'm not aware of this particular setup)
Batman is still goth Sherlock Stark. He is reviled by society, with the police actively hunting him or feeding him false tips to lure him into mob ambushes. In-universe Superman reacts to big, flashy crises when they arise, and he's loved for his quick response times. By contrast, Batman roots out the causes of crime, seeking to scrape out the cancer and sluice out the corruption, until every last dreg, every ounce of bribery and lies, is laid bare to the public... A rogue's gallery of inmates from Arkham asylum keep getting let out to keep Batman busy, off the mob, and off the state officers who want him gone.
Arkham is a city-funded asylum, and there's local ordinances and state laws that prohibit the asylum from receiving funding from charities or charitable persons, barring Bruce Wayne from having an impact on the asylum on that front. He's actively sponsoring various legislators who aim to tear down those restrictions, but they've all got other priorities too, and the opposition is still stronger.
The Night Wing is an organization of Robinsonas and Batsonas who are largely orphans and the homeless. Some of them wear costumes. Most of them don't. Informants, smugglers, and a few combat-trained veterans make up the bulk of their organization, but there's a few others with specialized skills. One Batgirl is a hacker who calls herself Oracle. Her dad was on track for commissioner of the Gotham police before he walked into an ambush during a drug bust. Gordon never got to see his daughter grow up. Barbara lost her mom to racketeers a few years after. At 16, she was living on couches, bouncing around, trying to finish school. Her computer lab teacher caught on and decided to teach her the ins and outs of coding, hacking, troubleshooting, etc. So she could support herself by getting a job fixing broken code for health insurance companies, or something.
Instead, she became a tech vigilante, and uses her know-how to jailbreak tech, hack software, and erase her own footprint with a forged footprint that leads investigators somewhere else.
Joker has it out for Batman, knows that Batman is Bruce Wayne, but won't tell a soul because that would spoil the fun.
Harvey Dent knows who Bruce Wayne became, because he saw what losing Thomas and Martha did to the child, saw what Bruce became when his parents' killer was finally found, and saw how when Bruce returned from abroad, the Batman started to show up. NOBODY else knows it's Bruce in the Bat Suit until Bane shows up and rips the bat mask off.
In this version, Bane isn't a Luchador, or quite Tom Hardy's version. Rather, he's a former wrestling federation Heel who got into the drug trade, and eventually became a cartel boss. He's not a member of the League of Assassins, but Talia al Ghul is his primary problem-solver, and she is one of the few surviving members of the League.
Riddler:
Poison Ivy is a chemist who concocts several toxic plant compounds into serums and cosmetics that she uses to keep herself inoculated to their effects. She's at a high enough dose she'll eventually develop hepatic and renal failure, but in the interim, she's so deadly that any kind of bodily fluid exchange with someone else is likely to kill them.
Sometimes that's a kiss. Sometimes she spits in someone's eye. Sometimes, well... you get the idea. Skin-to-skin contact can cause anything from mild euphoria, discomfort, pain, etc. But direct fluid exchange is almost guaranteed fatal. Harleen Quinzel has a natural immunity to nearly every poison Pamela Isley uses, as do Selena Kyle and Richard Grayson.
Selena Kyle is a bast-worshipping vigilante who survived a near-fatal fall when she found evidence of corporate malfeasance. Together with Dr. Pamela Isley and Dr. Harleen Quinzel, the three of them are probably the most villainous of the vigilantes, but they only go after demonstrably evil people. Abusers, torturers, people who litter...
Joker is usually the most deadly of rogues' gallery villains, as he kills to seal the punchline of his jokes. But the most murderous and evil villains are government employees. Officers in Gotham police, judges, attorneys. Not all. Not even most. But the few who are evil shield themselves under the cloak and pretext of righteousness by rule of law.
The stories revolve around Bruce Wayne growing from a boy who lost his parents to a rich man bent on saving the world, to recognizing just how small a part he plays in real world solutions to the ongoing problems.
The series would run for approximately 4 books or 4 season's worth of material, where Bruce would grow less and less the focus of the story, and by the end of season 3, full blown revolution is underway with certain members of society's elite pitching their support for the common folk, or digging in their heels about it.
One poignant scene in Season 2 has Bruce getting it in his head that he should fire Alfred, dissolve Wayne Enterprises, and give up his vast sums of fortune to the poor, and while Alfred affirms that giving money to help the poor would be a good start, he doesn't think dissolving Wayne Enterprises would be a good idea. When Bruce inquires about Alfred's opinion on leaving the business, he just shrugs and says he loved Thomas ever since they served together. Carried each other to the med tent, survived ambushes and mines together. Had Thomas had a mind for it, he would have gone AWOL just to be with him. Had it been legal, he would have married the man.
But Thomas Wayne was as straight as they come, and while he respected Alfred and loved him as a brother, did not reciprocate romantic interest. So Alfred had prepared to move on with his life when Thomas hired him on as a butler. It was only after their deployment that Alfred realized that his beloved friend was extremely rich. Of course, he accepted the job. He was there to help Martha throughout the pregnancy. He was there to help Thomas calm down when she went into labor prematurely with hypertension. He held both of their hands throughout the process, and he'd always seen Bruce as a surrogate son. He just... didn't dare say so until now.
What had he to lose? His "job"? So Alfred suggests Bruce take a different track. Build charitable organizations that provide employment to the under-employed, but also serve as watchtowers throughout the city. Nerve centers for the Night Wing. And in so doing, Bruce ingratiates himself to the public, gradually spending down his own wealth into an organization whose end-goal objective by the final season, is to have broken the corruption of the mob, shaken the police departments down to spare parts and built up new community support structures. Not perfect, but better.
Decriminalization of drugs, sex work, and other poverty-survival tools, while increasing penalties for embezzlement, bribery, and other crimes of power. Arkham gets closed, demolished, and turned into a memorial park to the victims of the Joker and the other villains. Arkham's patients get permanent residencies in much more modernized hospitals. Therapists with adequate training, minimal use of meds, except where absolutely necessary. The last episode shows Bruce stopping in to walk with Jack, the man who went as Joker for so many years.
The show ends on a hopeful note, leaving room for a better future without promising perfection.
