Kind of so my mom named me something completely different but my Grandma changed my name when she came to get me from the hospital. My first name was originally Jasmine but my Grandma changed it to Joyce cause it sounded like my Grandpa's name George. My middle name is a disaster cause my aunt chose it, its horrible and i hate and i want to change it to Jasmine. I do think Joyce fits me as a first name better though

I collect dolls and I sew. the amount of clothes I've taken apart and sew into completely different things. I turned a long sleeve top into a spaghetti strap top and im really proud of it. I just never wear long sleeve tops unless its off the shoulder and cause it had a velvet cheetah print heart that said Bratz and cheetah print neckline I couldn't so I changed it and was able to keep the neckline intact also had to take it in cause it was pretty big in the waist.

Yes, I have a sister. She's a good pet and I love her.

What sports do you/have you played??

I was a cheerleader and also did dance through middle and high school. Random story no one asked for I only learned to do a split out of spite because the head cheerleader while the coach was out went down the line to ask who could do a split and skipped me cause I was the biggest cheerleader. But I am unnecessarily flexible so every night I practiced doing a split and it took me like a week to do it. And I heard some of the other cheerleaders say I was only on the team to be a base. First of all I was the only bitch there with rhythm and who was good a choreography because I was also in dance. Like Just because I'm fat it doesn't mean anything. One thing about me, being fat has never stopped me from doing anything. The way other people treated me for being fat hurt as a child and was the sole reason I fell into depression and self harm. But I stopped caring what other people think a long time ago, like fuck everyone who has a problem with fat people that has nothing to with us. Their just fucking little bitches. I may have went on a tangent there.

Legally 5'7 but I can't accept it so in my mind 5'8. Yes, an inch matters, my whole life was a lie.

Shh...Let People Enjoy Things

When I was about…I honestly don’t know whatever a reasonable age to still be playing with Barbie dolls is (great memory you got there Shan lol), the ‘must have’ toy at the time was a convertible Bratz car.

For those unfamiliar with Bratz they were essentially Barbie’s big headed more fashion forward and trendy sisters, and the car….man the car was cool as shit! Not only could your dolls obviously fit inside said car, but it also had working flashing lights, a working horn and a radio built in, (I’m seriously not trying to sell you a Bratz convertible, I swear…) in short the thing was freaking amazing to a young mind. I, like every girl my age at the time desperately wanted one of these convertibles from Santa, but the reality was as it often is was that the car that Christmas was sold out everywhere! Every kid had been begging their parents for weeks and of course, parents in a panic most definitely ran to the store to pick up the must have item as quick as possible. This is not a new phenomenon, much as some people will have to believe by going on and on about the new must have item, it’s merely a repeated pattern in consumerism. I guess that fact is the point of this whole post to be honest, it’s the fact that we were all kids once and we all at one point or another wanted the must have item. Hell…I’m going to be honest here and say that you don’t even have to be a kid to want the newest must have item, I myself have been guilty of this and even my own mother bought a toy supposedly for my brother, but really her and her brother wanted to check out this Mr Frosty themselves. (Side note: They were highly disappointed as were most people during this time lol). We like to think of ourselves as bigger and better people, who don’t conform to these ideas or desires to have the newest gadget or toy but the reality is that sometimes it’s just in our nature. We’re excited by new innovative creations, even if they are as simple as a bloody convertible car for dolls that happens to also have radio. We’re people of simple pleasures, even if these things seem simple in design or useless in function we still find them amusing when they become mass produced and in our faces. I get a little frustrated when people complain on and on about the latest must have to be honest, because it’s rarely an argument on consumerism which would be understandable and relevant. It's usually more a case of “I don’t like this thing personally or find use for it, so I’m going to complain about how people are idiots for using it” which if I’m going to be brutally honest, makes you sound like a bitter old person because it’s just damn right stupid. Before you send me hateful comments, think about it for a second!

You probably love a book, movie, or type of music that if you’re like me a lot of people cannot stomach, right? (I’ll continue my quest to make people love the angsty sad music I love if it kills me) Eventually you move past that stage of insisting to people that the thing you like is somehow superior to the thing that they like and you accept the fact that neither is superior or inferior but that “different strokes for different folks” meaning you both love different things and that that’s okay. In previous eras a lot of people including some of the famous critiques I actually look up to such as Theodor Adorno, would often argue that particular genres of things, literature or music for example would be more intellectually stimulating and therefore superior to other genres. Many people argued that these superior genres were highly beneficial to humanity as stimulated thought and action etc., rather than forcing people to mindlessly consume the product. In my opinion these guys may have had some very accurate points (which Adorno has many) but it’s important to remember there is also a high amount of cynicism in these arguments. People get so mad about things simply because they themselves don’t enjoy them or for a variety of personal reasons take offence to them, these things in modern times can be artists such as Ed Sheeran (whom has become sort of the Nickelback of 2017), or the fads of today such as the Pokémon Go craze or the more recent Fidget Spinners. Last Summer Pokémon Go hit the app store and we all went nuts, the mobile phone application was brought about under the idea of getting kids out and about rather than playing video games at home. Yes, we all remember our parents complaining about how we never leave the house and sit glued to a screen, so finally a new game set out to fix that problem which sounded awesome! However, I wonder did it change this argument from parents and did parents breathe a sigh of relief when it was announced people would actually have to leave their homes to play a game? Of course, it changed nothing and like most things it became just another thing to complain about. Granted there were/are many reported accidents, injuries etc. caused by this craze, which is a vital part of many arguments but these accidents were highly avoidable so if anything it proves once again that some people just do silly things and become the reason we have warning labels on everything. (We still have to remind people not to text and drive? Like seriously?! Lol). I fully take on the reality that yes, this craze had downsides, but damn can we stop being so damn serious for a minute.

I’m genuinely quite a sociable person, yet I find it hard to meet people as I rarely have the money to go out to clubs or bars etc. so for people like me or people who maybe suffer social anxiety more severe than myself, Pokémon Go became a tool to engage with people. Not only did it stop me staying inside reading or on my computer for all of the Summer which is highly likely to have happened without it, but it also provided an easy conversation starter. As so many people were playing this new must have, those people could talk to each other because of this commonality that they may not have had before. A lot of people, adults, young adults, kids etc. were getting out of the house, most for hours at a time being active in order to catch Pokémon, it seems funny but it’s actually pretty damn awesome. I’ve easily walked for several hours of the day around my town, just to catch some Pokémon and I’m known for being too lazy to walk for food. So why the cynicism then? Why do we have to ruin a good thing by pointing out only the downsides? People often say things like “Oh you could be reading a really good book” or learning a new skill, instead of playing something they deem useless and unstimulating. I despise this argument because of the high levels of snobbery it emerges from, these people too often follow these statements up with something like “I just need something more interactive and thought provoking in my life” as if they spend their evenings reading by candle light and don’t know what “TV dramas” are, give me a fucking break. The point is this argument falls completely flat because it can just about be used for bloody anything if you feel the need for it, for instance you can easily argue and I’m sure many boring  interesting people have that watching TV shows is in no way intellectually stimulating for us as human beings, but the reality is nearly every single person on this planet probably watches at least three shows religiously (damn my number of shows is that multiplied by 12 lol). If people get enjoyment out of something then damn, leave them to it. The world (especially right now) is a pretty freaking bleak place at times, sometimes it’s hard to be happy in this world so if you get amusement, joy or laughter from something be it a new game or a type of music etc. then that’s awesome! As human beings we should have evolved past this silly behaviour of shaming people for liking a particular thing, and actually just being happy they found something to enjoy in this world. I understand people in retail somewhat hating these fads as people desperately wanting the newest must have, sometimes can be quite awful to deal with but that has pretty much nothing to do with the must have but everything to do with those people. So to sum this blog up before I continue rambling on.

Please! Let people enjoy things. Don’t be a dick about something just because someone else enjoys it and you don’t. Don’t be a dick to people if they don’t enjoy it. Don’t be a dick to people in retail (cause damn they gotta deal with the general public who no offence is a lot dumber than we like to believe, do them a solid and be nice). In short, don’t be a dick.

18 - Worst game you’ve played 

oh man this is a tricky one…when i was a kid i used to play all those like bratz doll games and barbie games but some of those barbie games are legit fun so like i dont wanna call them the worst ever yknow? i paid like 50 dollars for that mmo game Defiance when it first came out (of course its free to play now too) and ended up logging like 3 hours tops into it and then going ‘why am i playing this its so bad’ so that would probably have to be my pick LOL

19 - Hardest game you’ve ever played

i am so not into difficult games at all because my frustration level rises very easily and if i get too frustrated then i just end up not playing and never finishing what i was doing ksjfsdlkfjsdlkfs. i love the Binding of Isaac but i’ve never actually beaten it before, also Brutal Legend is so fun and i cosplayed one of the main characters a few years ago but was never actually able to beat that one either

OH JEEZ OH JEEZ i mean, i have a very special place in my heart for Valve games, i am literally wearing my portal sweatshirt right now and i used to have a ‘Bonk’ sweatshirt from tf2 that i loved (as well as like, a whole buncha other portal/tf2/l4d merchandise scattered around my house) so if i absolutely had to pick it would probably be them. i love Blizzard as of recent bcus of Overwatch and i’ve been following their activity a little bit since that came out…also i kind of have to mention Harmonix in here somewhere because the amount of time i’ve put into guitar hero and rock band games in my life is absolutely ridiculous. also Maxis probably because the sims. this was supposed to be one answer fjdgdhfgkjd

honestly like…probably either one of the Sims games or if i’m being entirely honest SSX 3? LMAO. ssx 3 was one of the first games i got into as a kid and i still play it a lot on my ps2 and i really love it

HOO BOY i am the biggest cry baby ever so i cry at everything basically klsdfjsdlkf, The Walking Dead game ruined my entire life when i played it and i still havent recovered from the way season 1 ended, im pretty sure i cried at the end of season 2 as well (havent played season 3 yet because i am lazy and poor), im pretty sure i cried at the end of Undertale, Tales from the Borderlands made me tear up a lil bit, DEFINITELY lost my shit at the end of Portal 2 the first time i played…if theres a game thats supposed to make u emotional by the end of it and ive played it i guarantee u i’ve bawled

1. How many works in progress do you currently have in progress?

Ehm, good question xD A LOT. Both fanfics and original stories... I tend to start very enthusiastically with something and then get stuck somewhere and just stop for a while and then some time later I find the story again and I'm like 'oh my god yes I was writing this!' and then basically the above on repeat xD But if I would have to count from the top of my head the works in progress I still really want to progress with... about 5?

2. Do you/would you write fanfiction?

Yes I do/would. Usually when I'm watching a series for instance and I'm super into it and I almost subconsciously start making up my own character that would fit into the story - or if there's something I would wanna change I would just start creating that story in my mind and if it got too much I would write it down xD

3. Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

PAPER BOOKS. (And yes, that was intentional Caps Lock) I feel like I can concentrate so much better on a story when I'm actually holding the pages in my hands then when I'd have to read it off a screen. And of course the smell and everything... Paper books. Yes.

4. When did you start writing?

Good question xD I've been making up stories for as long as I can remember... even when I was just playing with my barbie and Bratz dolls I would make up whole background stories for every one of them. And since language courses were always what I was good in, in high school I always scored extra points writing short stories for 'creative exercises' or however they called it. I can't really say at what age I started writing, elementary school at least.

5. Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

I usually write my stories alone and feel hesitant to let someone read them befote they're completely done. But I am currently writing a fanfiction that I'm working on together with my friend so we talk a lot and send each other our pieces to read. Before that, in high school I was also in a little project with some friends where we all wrote a story and we appeared in each other's stories, but we would only read it as it was already written. So yeah only in the current case of the fic I'm writing with my friend we're letting each other read what we've written before we actually put it in the official story document.

6. Where is your favourite place to write?

Either in my bed before I go to sleep in one of my many many writing notebooks or at the computer. Both ways and places have their charms. It depends on my mood tho, when I feel like getting something off my mind quickly when I'm on my PC I just open a Word Document and quickly type it. When I'm cozy in bed I like writing things out on paper with pen.

7. Favorite childhood book?

I remember I really liked books by Cornelia Funke, a German fantasy writer. She wrote the Inkheart trilogy, and also a book in Dutch called 'Joris en de Laatste Draken' which I really loved. I really admired her writing style because she was able to illustrate so clearly the landscapes and colors of a scene. The Inkheart trilogy is also still one of my favorite series (I read them all in Dutch by the way). My first favorite English book was 'I, Coriander', which is also a fantasy novel but a bit more dark and plays in Victorian England.

8. Writing for fun or writing for publication?

For fun, mostly. I've never actually finished a story to the extent that I was confident enough to let people read it. The few works in progress that I really want to finish are definitely on the 'I would like people to read it list'. It's more like, when I tell someone I'm writing something and they're like 'oh let me know when it's finished, i'd like to read it' I feel kind of flattered xD I mean if people want to read my stories, sure :p But I've never been really ambitious about becoming a writer or publishing a book or something.

11. What inspires you to write?

A lot of stuff. Sometimes situations or conversations I have with friends, scenes from movies and series, music lyrics... More than often the last one actually. I feel like I've started looking/listening at music differently in the past few years. I first listen to the melody to get interested in a song, but if the lyrics are more prominent than the music itself I find that I always listen carefully to the lyrics in order to find parts that speak to me or that I can identify with. It happens quite often where I am able to link a song to one of my OC's feelings and so it becomes a kind of inspiration for a specific character. But there's also a song that inspired me for a whole story, for example :p I get it from everything I see and hear which really speaks to me, both literally as figuratively.
