For the 2023 National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention (NBDCC), two variations on the same doll were released as collectors items for convention attendees: Winter Fantasy.
Although these dolls were released in both a Caucasian and an African-American design, both featured blonde hair - though in different shades of blonde. (Unless the lighting is tricking me?)
Although seeing the dolls side by side in promotional art, I don't think that's the case.
Both versions of the doll were designed by Angel Kent, senior designer at Barbie.
It's clear that one of the inspirations for the dolls was the 1983 Crystal Barbie - and I think they're all beautiful, even if personally for me that fabric looks like a sensory nightmare.
Note that these dolls do not appear particularly closely related to the Winter Fantasy dolls of the same name which serve to cause an intense distraction when you try to Google for good pics.
That's the problem with generic names like that... there's only so many of them.

There are a seemingly never ending list of Bob Mackie Barbies that I could talk about. For today, I'd like to bring up Masquerade Ball Barbie.
Masquerade Ball Barbie was a collectors edition Barbie which came out in 1993. As with the majority of Bob Mackie dolls, she came packaged with a signed Bob Mackie illustration of the concept design for the doll.
Conceptually there is one major problem - the elephant in the room, really. For all that she is called "Masquerade Ball Barbie", she is not actually displayed in box wearing a mask of any kind. She is not doing a very thorough job of attending a masquerade ball. (Perhaps this doll display takes place post-unmasking?)
Her dress is extremely cool though, and I love the feathered hat. I just can't help but think that she looks like she is dressed for some kind of regular gala rather than a Masquerade.
