Cartoon characters I enjoy
The type of cartoon characters I enjoy usually fit this checklist
•are male villains
•are from a cartoon
•are voiced by celebrities
•sing at least once
•not human
So here are some cartoon characters that I like, and at least fill some of the boxes.
1. Baron Draxum (voiced by John Cena in season 1, then by Roger Craig Smith in season 2)
Tumblr media
Bro is my favorite character in the whole damn series! Don’t get me started on the face reveal and redemption arc in season 2. I legit died when I found out that he was voiced by John Cena. Bro had a killer musical number in season 1 ngl. I don’t ship him with Splinter btw, personally I see them more as like people who just tolerate each other since they raise the turtles together.
2. Joe (voiced by Alan Rickman)
Tumblr media
I fucking LAUGHED at his death scene, man. He just drowned on-screen. That awkward silence during that scene got me wheezing, man! His musical number slaps, even though it gives off “knock-off be prepared” vibes. Him being voiced by Snape is just the cherry on top. Joe may be a villain, but he absolutely carried the movie, I don’t think I would’ve liked Help I’m a Fish if he wasn’t in the movie. Personally, I would’ve preferred a redemption arc instead of him dying at the end.
3. Fizzarolli and Asmodeus (voiced by Alex Brightman and James Monroe Iglehart)
Tumblr media
(I couldnt find a gif with Asmodeus in it:/)
So, one thing to know about me is that I like musicals. Another thing is that I like cartoons. So of course I would like Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. My pfp is currently Fizzarolli rn. Fizzaroli is legit voiced by the guy who was Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice the musical. And Asmodeus is voiced by the guy who was the genie in the Aladdin musical. The musical number they sang slapped! And I can’t wait for the next episode!
4. Striker (voiced by Norman Reedus in season 1, episode 5, then was voiced by Edward Bosco in season 2, episode 4)
Tumblr media
He’s not my favorite character in the show, he’s alright imo. I never saw the walking dead, but Norman Reedus is cool. The song he sings in the episode is cool. After the most recent episode he was in (season 2, episode 4) I just think he’s ok.
5. Tamatoa (voiced by Jeanine Clement)
Tumblr media
Bro, I legit had a crush on this guy when he first appeared on the screen when I watched it in theatres. Like, in my child mind, he was SO fine!😂 His musical number is hella catchy! Yes, I watch Schaffrillas productions on YouTube. I honestly don’t think they’ll add him in the live action remake.
6. Bowser (voiced by Jack Black)
Tumblr media
GIVE THIS MAN AN EMMY!!! The song “Peaches” freakin’ slaps. It goes on the same level as “I’m just Ken” from the new Barbie movie. I saw the Mario movie with my family, and it was good. Jack Black was the best part of this movie ngl.
Honorable Mentions:
• Krad (voiced by Ed Asner)
• Strike (voiced by Micheal Dorn)
• Bill Cipher (voiced by Alex Hirsch)
• King Andrias (voiced by Keith David)
I could name more, but those were most of them off the top of my head.

Hm! I feel a rant coming on! Everyone duck!
MY THOUGHTS ON THE HYPERIA STORY AND ITS THEMING. ALSO A GENERAL RANT ON COASTER THEMING.
Let start with a general question: what counts as theming?
To me, theming is the set pieces, pre-show, and anything laid out in a rides area to help develop a story. Most of the time this helps world-building more than anything. To me, even music can be a piece of theming because it helps to set a tone. For example, when riding Smiler, the laughter sounds almost manic and it makes you realise straight away that something is off, before you even step foot into X-sector.
Anything that DOESN'T fall into this classification such as website and app pages, falls into "storytelling". In a theme park, it is almost impossible to tell the entire story from one repeated instance inside of said story. To tell a complicated story like that of the Smiler, it would take so much exposition, which is very much not the point and would take away from the experience as a whole.
So storytelling isn't a bad thing, it's how they handle it.
To me, there are three behemoths of theme park theming and storytelling worldwide. That I know of.
Baron 1898, X-Sector post-Smiler, And Forbidden Valley post-Reborn.
Baron 1898 is pretty easy to grasp while you're there, even as a non-speaker of the language. You're going on a mine tour and 3 ghost ladies are PISSED that you're going down there. The actual theming is downright impressive ans I would love to see it in real life. You can then look up the story to find out who the ghosts are, who the Baron is, and how the mine came to be. Really good treat for people who decide to look.
Forbidden Valley has a story that has remained relatively consistent throughout the years. It has wondering actors that establish the world in a realistic yet entertaining way rather quickly. There are an official operation; there are people opposing the operation so there is something sneaky going on; there is a tour group taking advantage of the centrepiece so the Alien is a tourist attraction in this universe, too. Just little things that help put together a bigger picture.
Of course this starts coming apart a little bit when the audio starts explicitly telling you what is happening, but it still holds. You see someone's office, a crashed helicopter, weapons for warding off the alien. All things to help build up this universe you are now ankle-deep in. And then there's the 3 pages on the Internet that break down the story for you, which can also be seen in the shop.
Finally, of course, there's X-sector. It doesn't usually have roaming actors, and the theme suits better that way. Without the roaming actors, you see that the Ministry are secretive. Trying to stay out of the limelight, except for the skeleton crew they send out to keep the coaster safe and operational. It shows a tone.
However, people casually wondering what this is about can never get an easy answer. Cause the answer is spread out across what remains of a decade-old marketing campaign. Fun for people who want a deep dive, not so fun for people who are just lightly curious. The website barely tells you anything either.
But, on a positive light, the story is so complex it keeps a fandom. Not many coasters have that. It's an insane accomplishment.
And I have a theory as to why. Now, stay with me here I think I'm about to upset some people:
It has aspects of social and political commentary. "Not everything is political" ALL GOOD ART IS A COMMENTARY ON THE TIMES AND CIRCUMSTANCES YOU WERE RAISED IN SIT YOUR ARSE BACK DOWN.
RIGHT, so, Smiler is a story about the government dedicating an organisation to keeping people artificially content to keep people compliant. What are Brits notorious for doing, in comparison to the French?
Doing fuck all. This wasn't always the case. We would riot, we would strike. Now we strike but while the other half of the country complains and just tells the strikers to sit back down and take the mistreatment. We are miserable, we complain, and we go about our day. And that's the joke. Its funny. So why bother changing it?
And if we can't be bothered changing something cause it's funny, what happens if they make everything purposefully funny? They'd never have to deal with the strikes in the first place.
The government functions off of our social compliance, which can come from making jokes at our own expense. We even see it now with our drowned-rat-faced PM as he continues to make a fool out of himself so he's funny. If he's funny, we want to see him more. That's a valid strategy nowadays.
Smiler. Is about how Keep Calm And Carry On is a stand against progress.
Smiler. Is a political and social commentary on the people of Britain. You're welcome.
Anyway!
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO THE NEW WORLD-STAGE COASTER IN STAINES?
The problem is: it doesn't. Instead of taking inspiration from its sister park, Alton, Thorpe decided to take inspiration from Icon and its shoebox station.
Where is Fearless Valley taking place? When is Fearless Valley taking place? What point in the story are we looking at here? The issue [only issue, really] with Hyperia, is it entirely relies on storytelling and a few bits and bobs in the queue.
Remember the shortcoming in Nemesis? Where you can get a good grasp of the story without it being blasted in your ear? Yeah here they straight up tell you the story, too. The theming has BECOME the storytelling.
Next question: what is Hyperia, the coaster, supposed to be? Yes, we know the story is that a goddess called hyperia overcame her fear of the sea by building wings and escaping the island she was trapped on [for some unspecified reason. Is hyperia evil?], but what IS the coaster supposed to be?
Smiler is the Marmaliser, the machine that transforms you into a smiling advocate. Nemesis is the tentacles of the monster overtaking the metal that pins it down. Baron is the track the drill takes to get into the mine.
What is Hyperia? Are we following Her as she soars, were we stuck with Her; the Icarus to her Daedalus? Are we following in her footsteps as part of a ceremony Her followers reenact for her blessing? Are we supposed to be Her? It's never really specified.
The station is chocked full of a last-ditch attempt of theming, which in comparison with the whole lotta nothing you get from the queueline? It feels cramped. It feels cheap. It barely feels like it belongs on a stage alongside Taron, Velocicoaster and Voltron Nevera. If they didn't have the budget to do the storytelling and the theme, they should've gone for theme.
Any story with no theme feels cheap and artificial. Any theme with no story still stands out and has breathtaking scenes. If they focused more on the white-gold colour palate and maybe had a few statues around and about they could pass it as some sort of pantheon, like climbing Olympus.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm disappointed in all aspects of the Hyperia theming. It feels lazy, tacky and underwhelming when you consider Swarm is a 5 minute walk away. I'm hoping it improves at some point.
I geniunely think the stone head of Collosus is much better than anything in Fearless Valley and its inconsistencies. The Black and gold buildings feel very sleek and out of place for a story ultimately about a goddess who forged. She forged her own wings. She forged her own bravery. Shouldnt the building look a little home made? Where are the bolts? The soldering? I want to see her anvil and hammer pride-of-place, not shoved in the corner of the station.
Cmon thorpe. Get your arse in gear.

Round 3, Match 29: Whitebeard vs. Lance Strongbow
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted kids:
Whitebeard: Marco, Portgas D. Ace, Thatch, Izou, Haruta, Deuce, Jozu, Vista, and a bunch more I can’t think of rn
Lance Strongbow: Angry (Kiera) and Red (Catalina)
Propaganda under the cut!
Whitebeard:
1. “His biggest dream in life is to have a family of his own, but how to go about that? Settle down with a wife and have lots of kids? Boring. No, the best way to go about it is to become a pirate, find the most outcasted and lost people you can, and make them your crewmates/sons”
Link to the rest here!
Lance Strongbow:
1. “Lance met the girls when they were forced to steal to survive, and helped mentor and encourage them to pursue alternative options. He also gave himself up to the Baron’s men (along with Eugene) so that the girls would escape. Whenever the girls show up in the series sporadically he consistently acts like a dad, making jokes and later brings the girls some paintings to spruce up their home. They come with him on different adventures. He is also incredibly dad-like when he insists on trusting his “instincts” when they keep getting lost in the tower where they’re supposed to rescue Varian and insists that they are “almost there!” At the end of the series he adopts them and they change their last names to his.”
2. “Okay to be fair it's only these two that Lance adopts but you did say it only had to be *at least* two and their story is so sweet.
Basically Lance is Eugene's (Flynn Rider) best friend from his childhood/teen years, and they were thieves together. When Lance shows up in the show for the first time, he's still a thief, but over the course of the show, Rapunzel and Eugene turn him into an upright citizen.
Angry and Red, much like Lance and Eugene, are orphans who came to the conclusion that they might be better off as thieves. The two girls were revered in the kingdom as The Silent Strikers, and Eugene and Lance are tasked by King Frederic to reform the young girls. Of course gaining their trust and actually helping the girls become good people is a long process, but eventually the girls do turn out for the better, and Lance, a reformed thief himself, decides to adopt the girls at the end of the series.”

Fanfics Masterpost
Transformers Cyberverse Fanfics Ideas:
Soundwave survives the end of the show (even if only to not leave Shadow Striker alone to command Decepticons, come on we've got Hot Rod, Bumblebee and Windblade at the very least to replace Optimus but Shadow Striker has to deal with everything alone? Nah.): Hand Over The Relationship, Offish Decepticon! I'm this close to finishing the last chapter. There's an update on the 1st every month meanwhile to give me time to close that last chapter.
"Wherever Bumblebee goes on Cybertron, Cheetor, be with him." If Cyberverse doesn't give me Cheetor remembrance, then I will.
Bumblebee & Windblade friendship post-war (with sprinkles of Windblade's cityspeaker ability and her time in the Matrix of Leadership of the Other One). Maybe even Cheetor communicating with them from Primus' AllSpark.
Optimus' nightmare after using the Matrix against Starscream is a bit more than just a nightmare. Set with the idea of Optimus being (a reincarnation of) the Thirteenth, therefor a sibling of the Thirteen First Primes: Standing Among The Blue
Transformers EarthSpark Fanfics Ideas:
Brave Educational Experience: or when the Terrans shatter Bumblebee's worldview through a single question.
Shockwave & Wheeljack relationship, but still with their dynamic from in Cyberverse (dancing robots, Shockwave's invention liking Wheeljack (s2 ep10, Secret Science)). Also Wheeljack calls Shockwave out on his racism towards the Terrans/Twitch his daughter.
The ones I probably won't write:
Decepticons meeting up with Autobots at the border after defeating the Quintessons (too vague).
AU fix-it in which Starscream gets better (I just don't know his character enough).
The ones I said I wouldn't write but did in a way or another:
I've read a fic headcanoning Soundwave as a cityspeaker too, which I find interesting but don't think I'll write about it <- Hand Over The Relationship Offish Decepticon! (chapter 5 especially)
--------------------------------------------------
Other stuff I've written unrelated to Transformers medias: ⬇️
And The Sun Snuffed Itself Out So Icare Could Keep Flying: "In this world, Hawks doesn't lose his wings." MHA, canon-compliant up to the moment Hawks loses his alter to AFO. I've always felt like Endeavor/the Todoroki family owned him one after what Dabi does to him (also why the hell are people shipping Dabi and Hawks together wtf) and that with Endeavor's whole "redemption" thing he would at least try to protect Hawks more?? Maybe it's just me. Might get a sequel or follow up if I can work my mind around some plot.
Triangle Is The Strongest Shape: Monastario/Zorro/Lolita trouple. I know, I've got you, you'll have at least one fic with the three of them (it's silly tho). I honestly don't know how Monastorio's name is canonically spelled.
Oh Little Angel's Family: the one I keep forgetting. Supernatural, it's about family feels among the angels (especially the archangels and Castiel) and isn't canon-compliant in the slightest. I think it diverges from canon at s4, but honestly I don't care about that one enough to search back my notes about it. It has an attempt to plot in it, it has. Anyway it's written in french and Michael is called Michel in it.
Not home: an Outer Worlds game character-study(ish) fic about the Captain being an outsider. Do not be fooled by the english title, it's written in french.
Star Wars. I've written many a fic of Star Wars stuff starring the Codywan ship, some in french that haven't been translated since I switched to full english. I've still got unfinished drafts of more fics including them which will probably never be finished because I can't be bothered, and I don't post unfinished drafts (there's one exception to this and I won't elaborate on it).
Ideas of fics that haven't been written (yet):
A Baroness fic. From The Cat Returns Ghibli movie. In which she either gets reunited with Baron or has Toto and other birds travel letters between them.
A Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas time-travel fix-it fic centering on Shion, in which Zeus is actually responsible for the Holy War and the Aries cloth has time powers because of Chronos. Featuring being hunted as a traitor by his fellow Golds, soul wound, and Lady Persephone.
A Kuraerti fic (you know. the one yall keep calling Clerifa like it's a fucking Pokémon.) post-canon, a timeline what timeline, everyobody lives, setting: Gold Saucer. Featuring an Oblivious!Cloud, background Reno/Rude, Zack being around, Rufus and his dog learning to be a Good PersonTM under mentorship from Dio, the most adults members of the group acting like parents and a frustrated Barret.
A Brooklyn Nine-Nine fic in which Kevin's family is actually from the mafia. His parents don't talk to him anymore because he married a cop and the whole Seamus situation gets worse because that's a mafia family kidnapping somedoby from another mafia family. It is unclear if Holt is aware or not.

Iron-Ring Striker (Magus Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by LukasVasut on DeviantArt)
The magus class, the blending of martial prowess and magic into one smooth, disciplined machine. It only makes sense that there would be many different styles and specializations of that basic concept. We’ve seen mystic archers, shieldbearers, two-weapon fighters, and the like, and now it’s time to look at an unarmed fighter.
Originally, the tradition of the iron-ring strikers hails from Vudra in the Lost Omens setting, gaining its name from the iron rings worn by it’s practitioners. However, like many things, it has spread outward since then.
Dedicated to strengthening not just their body but minds, these warriors are masters of full-contact martial arts combined with magic, two flavors that normally don’t really go together, but their specialized training makes it work.
As a flavor detail, you could claim that these magi use their iron rings as the focus for their magic when they enhance their unarmed prowess… or you could just say that they just infuse the magic directly into themselves if the iron rings themselves aren’t part of the lore in your setting.
In any case, the result is a magus that can punish foes with their strikes and magic even when on the defensive, as we’ll soon see.
With their focus on unarmed combat, these magi put a little less effort into their arcane training, reducing the reserves of arcane power they have for spells.
However, they learn how to add enhancements to the unarmed strikes to compensate, and can learn several defensive, offensive, and tactical enchantments to temporarily bolster their abilities with.
This specialization does mean they can only deliver spellstrikes with their unarmed strikes though at first.
They do, however, train to master the art of dealing harm with their fists and feet, advancing as a monk or brawler would.
Additionally, they train to perfect various combat maneuvers.
In order to bolster said maneuvers, they can sacrifice spells in order to lend mass to their forms, allowing them to grapple with foes many times their size with no issues.
Additionally, they also can learn to conduct their spells as part of these maneuvers, making their grapples, trips, or shoves even more debilitating.
Finally, some of the most powerful can reflexively channel these spells when their foes touch them to try and turn the tables with their on maneuvers, punishing them for trying.
With their focus on combat maneuvers, these mystics almost don’t even need to specialize in unarmed, but the combination of level-progressing damage and the ability to both sacrifice spells to bolster combat maneuvers and conduct them through said maneuvers means that they can not just hit hard but also lay on the debuffs and battlefield control hard on foes. I recommend taking lots of touch spells that lay on debuffs that complement your favorite combat maneuvers well, as well as control spells to keep yourself from being overwhelmed, not to mention buffing yourself as well. And don’t be afraid to diversify your spells. Even if you can’t use a particular spell you prepared, it can be converted into a buff for our maneuvers on the fly!
It's easy to imagine how this specialization blends magic with ascetic practices, even if they do not get a ki pool on their own. Consider how the pursuit of the arcane is similar to the search for enlightenment. Of course, others might just be martial artists with no interest in ascetic ideals, instead choosing to perfect themselves for their own reasons.
The eagle has long been the symbol of the Raptor’s Grasp, an elite military unit of mages and martial artists that blend the two together seamlessly with their signature “Raptor Style”. However, recently there have been allegations that the style is a stolen one, a copy of the Dragonfly Style of Eastern Joukahn.
Last of his noble house, Baron Perrinor wishes desperately to achieve the same heights as his family’s founder, a mighty warrior mage that struck down foes with magic-coated fists, but no matter how hard he tries, he cannot seem to make progress. The obsession has grown so much that he has neglected many aspects of his rule, such as caring for his fiefdom and producing an heir.
The champion of the Vokstead Arena takes the idea of “iron ring striker” to an excessive new height, being covered in piercings. The shackleborn tiefling literally crackles with arcane energy as she tears into foes with spell and fist alike.

BLINKBLINKBLINK batgene thief kid bonding
ehehehehehehEHEHEHE OKAY SO
obviously this is the silent strikers backstory and how they met hugo. spoilers ahead for backstory but nothing that affects the future or the next fic
so!!! about three years before the series starts. hugo is 15 and has been working for don for a few months (she caught him high-fiving ATMs and was like "jfc this kid" and hired him instantly) and is on a lame little milk run of a mission to plant some bugs in an out of the way office building of the baron's. it's very much an easy boring job to get the mouse's feet wet but he's a teenager with superpowers and he's bored to tears about it
except oh wait. this is not an office building this is a maximum ride style Human Experimentation Facility where the baron (who for all that i set him up as the big bad and eugene's arch nemesis i have put SO LITTKE EFFORT into describing or fleshing out lmao) is funding some cute animal human hybrid experiments. and hugo stumbles across these two little kids who are being Casually Experimented On and goes "wtf" because up to that point have superpowers has been basically a net positive for him and don has genuinely been trying to keep him out of the gnarly stuff but he sees a couple of ten year olds getting hurt and realizes that maybe this is not as fun and comic booky as he thought it was
anyways he uses his dope technopath powers to break them out and takes them on a shopping spree and sets them up at a nice hotel and like. casually big brothers tf out of them until they run into lance and get themselves adopted. and then he keeps big brothering them but also sometimes their dad tries to shoot him because no one told lance the backstory

Shurdh
Shurdh or Shurdhi is a weather and storm god in Albanian pagan mythology, who causes hailstorms and throws thunder and lightning. Shurdh was worshiped in northern Albania until recent times.
Shurdhi is thought to have been an ancient Illyrian god. In some regions of the Albanian Alps the weather and storm god was referred to as Rmoria or I Verbti; the latter is an Albanian adjectival noun meaning "the blind one" that was used in northern Albania also to refer to the fire and wind god. Shurdhi could be related to the sky and lightning god Zojz, and to the presumable sky and weather god Perëndi. Some of Shurdhi's attributes can be found in the mythological figure of drangue.
Tumblr media
The name Shurdhi appears to be connected with the Albanian term i shurdhët meaning "the deaf one", however, this link seems to be only a coincidence, since the name Shurdh is more likely a compound of *seuro, "water" (cf. Albanian shurrë "urine"), and *dos "giver/donor" (cf. Albanian dhashë/dha, "I gave/he gave"); his name thus means "water donor". A relation between the name Shurdh and the second part of the theonym Zibelsurdus found in ancient Thracian epigraphic monuments has been suggested.
The coincidence of the name of the weather and storm god Shurdh with the term shurdh-i "the deaf one" probably gave rise to the adjectival noun I Verbti "the blind one" or Shën Verbti "the holy blind one", which was used to refer to the weather and storm god in the Albanian Alps along with Rrmoria, and to refer to the fire and wind god in the Zadrima region.
The theonym Shurdh could be related to the name of the island of Shurdhah near Shkodër, and it is found in the oronym Maja Shurdh ("Shurdh Peak") in Kelmendi, and the toponym mi Shurdh, a region in Mirdita.
According to folk beliefs, Shurdhi travels using storm clouds which announce hailstorms when he arrives. He can be greeted and turned away with noise and gunshots. Baron Nopcsa identified Shurdhi with the ancient Thracian thunder deity Zibelsurdus, who was also greeted with weapons. According to Karl Treimer, a presumable basic form perejont-, "the striker", of the Albanian divine name Perëndi may be an epithet of the thunderstorm god Shurdh, who may have been a favorite god since he would have refreshed pastures and fields and was probably also of a warlike nature after this presumable epithet given to him.

The New Model Army Defiant: ‘What were the lords of England but William the Conqueror’s colonels or the barons but his majors?’
Cromwell and Fairfax Choose Sides
Tumblr media
The Farmer Who Ruled England by Ron Embleton. Source: Look And Learn magazine #51 (5th January 1963).
BY THE SPRING of 1647, the split between the Presbyterian faction that dominated Parliament and the New Model Army had widened into a chasm. The Army was fundamentally opposed to Parliament’s intention to disband most of its units, save for an expeditionary force to be sent to Ireland, with its months of wage arrears unpaid and with no indemnity granted to soldiers for actions taken during the war. The Army was also suspicious at what it perceived as the marginalisation by the Presbyterians of its popular leading commanders, Sir Thomas Fairfax and Oliver Cromwell, and nervous at the apparent negotiations between Parliament and the King which they believed could see Charles re-established with full royal authority on his throne, with potentially dire consequences for those commoners who had raised arms against him. The Independents were therefore assuming more and more influence amongst the middle ranking officers and the ordinary soldiery, leading to an increased militancy, not just against a Parliamentary faction that the men believed sought to swindle them out of their due, but also against an aristocratic ruling order they saw being reimposed and which many had hoped the war had rid them of. This led to the soldiers to begin to elect so-called “Agitators” to represent their interests to Parliament. The Agitators were more akin to shop stewards than the term’s modern connotation of persuasive political radicals, and indeed one of the first actions of the new militancy was for the Army to go on strike in April 1647.
The strike manifested itself as a refusal to serve in Ireland without the soldiers’ back pay being met, legal indemnities for their actions during the fighting being issued and, significantly an insistence that the Irish expedition be led by Cromwell and Fairfax. The two commanders were in an invidious position: Fairfax remained Parliament’s commander-in-chief and Cromwell was a sitting MP. Both men privately sympathised with the strikers. Cromwell attempted to broker an agreement between Parliament and the Agitators, but the situation spiralled out of control when on 25th May, Parliament announced the disbanding of the New Model Army with the exception of the force to travel to Ireland. The Army’s response was to muster in Newmarket, a show of strength that took the Presbyterians aback who, apart from the Trained Bands in London, had no military forces of their own to deploy against what was beginning to look like an organised mutiny. The Agitators then issued their own demand that the eleven MPs who had signed the disbandment order should themselves be removed from the Commons.
This development led to Cromwell’s moment of truth. Instinctively, he was a social conservative, very wary of the radical elements of the Army, but equally he owed a debt of blood to the soldiery whom he had commanded, fought with and led to extraordinary victories. His ultimate decision was made easier by his enemies in Parliament who believed him to be, at best, tolerant of the radical Independents in the Army and at worst, their cynical manipulator. As the Presbyterians’ negotiations with Charles threatened to being Scottish troops back into England to take on the New Model Army, Cromwell resigned his Parliamentary seat and cast his lot in with the military. What followed was the most audacious move in an extraordinary career that would one day make Cromwell king of England in all but name. Following a shadowy and never proven meeting between Cromwell and his immediate officers over lunch at an inn in Drury Lane, on 2nd June, a relatively junior Agitator named George Joyce, a second lieutenant, or “Cornet” in the New Model Army cavalry, led a troop of 500 horse to Holdenby House.
Joyce was met with suspicion by the military force guarding the King at Holdenby and they refused his demands to release Charles into his custody. The enterprising Joyce then forced his way into the startled King’s bed chamber and insisted Charles accompany him to London. The King, sensing something was afoot, and having obtained assurances from Joyce he would not be harmed or compelled to do anything against his conscience, agreed. The Parliamentary guard, unwilling to take on a numerous force of New Model troopers stood down and Joyce took charge of the King. An intrigued, and quite possibly amused, Charles enquired by what authority Joyce was taking him into custody. Joyce, clearly discomfited by Charles’ persistence, obfuscated, and replied transferring the King to the care of the Army, was necessary to secure peace in the Kingdoms. When Charles continued, asking Joyce “by what commission you have” to take his action, the exasperated officer turned and indicated his mounted soldiers. “By this commission, sir,” he replied. The King acknowledged the new reality under which his realm was now ruled. “It is as fair a commission and as well written as I have seen a commission written in my life.” he allegedly remarked. On 7th June, Joyce handed Charles into the charge of Fairfax and Cromwell. The rebellious New Model Army not only now had the unequivocal support of its much loved wartime commanders, it had the King as well.
Cromwell, Fairfax and the King all now proceeded to Newmarket where the Army remained under arms. Cromwell encouraged the formation of an Army Council to, in effect, administer the rebellious force, independent of any form of Parliamentary control. Parliament quickly realised the seriousness of the situation it was faced with: failure to compromise could lead to its overthrow by the Army. They quickly conceded the Army Council’s demands : the disbandment order was rescinded, the hated eleven signatories resigned their seats and pay arrears were agreed to be met in full. Cromwell now found himself in the position of being able to seek a settlement to bring the civil war to a conclusion but mandated by neither King nor Parliament to do so. There followed a period of intense negotiation with Charles under which Cromwell and Henry Ireton were prepared to reject the Newcastle Propositions and the Solemn League and Covenant, restore Royal privilege and crush the radicals in the army in return for religious toleration, biennial Parliaments and an amnesty for the those who had fought for Parliament. The only significant concession the Independents asked of Charles was his agreement to end episcopacy. An unlikely partial Royalist victory was within Charles’ grasp if he could bring himself to agree to the generous terms, known as the Heads of Proposals, on offer.
At the same time as, crab like, a settlement of England’s constitutional crisis seemed at last possible, political opinion was hardening not only within the ranks of the New Model Army, but also within a series of disparate low church groups for whom “toleration” was simply the start. They were spear headed by a remarkable group of radical egalitarians known as “The Levellers”. These proto socialists rejected monarchical and aristocratic privilege; sought the break up of aristocratic-owned estates and their redistribution to yeoman farmers; wished Parliament to be the depository of popular as opposed to kingly sovereignty, and promoted sexual equality and the rights of women. The Levellers also believed in the intrinsic correctness of social equality under God, and advocated for commerce and small business at the expense of inherited wealth and land ownership. It is possible that the Levellers could have ultimately been dismissed as one of several short lived seventeenth century utopian and extreme religious groups such the Diggers, the Ranters, the Quakers and the Proclaimers, but, crucially, they possessed intellectual heft in the shape of their leaders, William Welwyn, Richard Overton and “Honest” John Lilburne, and a power base within the Army which could not be ignored. In the autumn of 1647, the Levellers were to be one of the most influential elements in a fascinating episode in England’s radical history: the so-callled Putney Debates.

Round 2, Match 45: Lance Strongbow vs. Derek Hale
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted kids:
Lance Strongbow: Angry (Kiera) and Red (Catalina)
Derek Hale: Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, Vernon Boyd, Jackson Whittemore, Cora Hale, he tries to get Scott McCall on board but Scott never wanted in
Propaganda under the cut!
Derek Hale
“derek is the worst. this is not a healthy family dynamic. his family died and he's trying to create something just like it to give him that sense of security and he's so into the stupid alpha male posturing that everyone leaves him and then once he makes peace with that he just becomes the random adult hanging out with a bunch of high schoolers. he's literally such a loser and I kind of love that no one sees it just because he has cheekbones and a leather jacket. to be clear this isn't hate this is just his character arc”

Irondad Bingo 4: Trope: Superfamily
Tumblr media
"When's Dad gonna be back?" A  14 year old Peter asked as he shoved a spoonful of Frosted Flakes into his mouth trying to beat the clock while Steve flipped through the newspaper.
"He'll be back tomorrow afternoon. And take smaller bites, Petey." He insisted, not even looking up from the paper.
"Okay." Peter insisted, taking the last bite before looking up at the clock. "Shit! I'm gonna be late!"
"Language!" Steve shouted as his son scrambled to the sink, put his bowl in, and came back in, giving him a hug while picking up his backpack.
"Love you, Pops. See you later."
And in a flash, he was out the door, most likely running to catch up with the bus.
••••••••••••
When Peter returned home, he planned on relaxing, maybe doing some homework, but then his Pops came in with worry on his face, which concerned the teen as he walked toward him.
"Is Dad okay?"
"He's fine. I need you to suit up though. We need your help for a mission."
Peter nodded, and went straight up to his room to change into his suit, grinning ear to ear as he changed.
"If Pops needs my help, it's really serious, or he can't get in contact with Dad. Both of which are not good. Spider-Man, New York Hero."
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Peter, but Mr. Rogers still needs you and fast."
"Sorry, Karen. I'm just excited." Peter insisted as he went back downstairs and followed his father to the Quin-Jet, sitting down beside his dad.
"Are you doing the debriefing or am I?" Natasha asked as she sharpened one of her knives, which made Peter grateful   that he wasn't on the wrong end of it, but then she looked him in the eyes. "Baron Strucker, a former SHIELD agent, broke in with a security code, and stole several artifacts, including vibranium. We need to find him and get our supplies back using any force necessary."
Peter nodded, and the fear started to set in. This was his first real mission with the Avengers, and if he messed up, someone could die. And that was not ideal for him.
The jet landed about twenty minutes later outside of a small base, and immediately several security guards came out with large guns, and the group started attacking them.
Peter immediately webbed onto a large tree and started webbing guys up from above, making sure not to web the guns in with the ropes, and he could hear yelling and shouting all around him, causing panic to start rising up as he kept webbing guys up from above.
'Just breathe, Peter. Calm down.' He told himself, and finished webbing up the guys running toward him, so he climbed down from the tree, and started looking around at what was unfolding around him.
Natasha was beating people up left and right, Hawkeye wasn't anywhere to be seen, but an occasional arrow would fly into someone every now and then, he didn't see Banner or Hulk anywhere, but maybe that was a good thing, and he turned around to see his Pops fighting a few guys, and that's when he saw it.
Baron Strucker was quietly approaching behind his father with a large pistol drawn, and ready to fire.
Peter ran toward him, grabbing his father and tackling him to the ground, with a large "Bang!" Filling the air.
Everything stopped for a second. He was on the ground, arms wrapped around his father, who was also on the ground, Natasha had taken Strucker down and was restraining him and then everything came rushing back to full speed.
A burning pain came flooding him, and caused him to cry out, which immediately made Steve freak out as he adjusted and propped Peter up against him.
Then Peter looked down, and saw the blood.
"Petey, eyes up here." Steve insisted as he gently turned his masked face toward his, meeting his eyes with his. "Don't look at it. Just look at me."
"I't burns..." Peter whimpered as he curled up against Steve, trying to breathe a little better. "M-make it stop..."
"We will, bud. It's gonna be okay." Steve insisted, as he gently put an arm under Peter's legs, and the other behind his back, before lifting him up, which only made the pain ten times worse. "It's okay, Petey. I've got you."
Natasha came over, gently curling Peter's fingers around a few towels, before telling Steve.
"Helen and Tony are waiting for us at medical. We've gotta get this to clot a bit once we get back on the jet. You okay?"
"I will be once he's okay." Steve insisted, feeling Peter drift off in his arms. "Peter, you have to stay awake. Listen to me, alright ?"
"S-sorry, Pops... I'm s-sorry I'm not s-strong enough..."
"Are you kidding? You took a bullet without hesitating. When you grow up, you're gonna be the strongest out of all of us."
"T-thanks, Pops..." Peter trailed off, before going limp in his arms, which caused Steve to start holding pressure on the wound while running to the jet, praying for his son to just hold on.
•••••••••••••
As soon as they reached the compound, Peter was whisked away to medical, still unconscious, and Steve was about to head straight there, but then he met the angry eyes of his husband.
"What the hell were you thinking?! Bringing our-my 14 year old son on a dangerous mission. He could've been killed! And he's still not out of the woods."
"I'm sorry, but I was desperate, and you were out of town. We needed the help, and he did a good job."
"He was shot, Steve!"
"At least I'm giving him a chance! You're sending him on all these baby missions, and he just wants to prove himself!"
"I don't want him dead!" Tony shouted, his face almost bright red, but, he stopped, and sat down, putting his head in his hands and sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm just worried about him."
"I am too." Steve insisted, sitting beside his husband and putting a hand on his shoulder. "But we both know a bullet isn't gonna take him without a hell of a fight."
"Aren't you the one who is always telling Pete to watch his language?" Tony smirked as he looked back up at him, meeting a small smirk back.
"I grew up during the 20's and 30's. Trust me, I know a lot worse then hell."
"I know that, you've said it in the bedroom."Tony joked, before his expression turned serious again, and he looked down at his watch, feeling worry consume his every thought.

Weeks had passed since Blitzo’s capture at the Harvest Moon Festival. The Boss imp was kept rigged to a machine, where he fades in and out of consciousness for days.
His adamant refusal to eat gnaws at the back of the Cowboy’s mind, he wasn’t expecting the defiance; he didn’t think Blitzo would be this stubborn. The life he had snuffed out was miniscule, the vermin had it coming. Moxie should’ve listened to the boss imp. Now the gun-specialist was a figment of the past.
Now here he was stuck, in a stuffy room: in a heated meeting with Stella, the Owlett was screeching at him. All he could think about was the city imp hidden away at some undisclosed location only he knew about. While Stella prattled on about the condition her husband was in and how unhappy she was about it.
During those long meetings, the wrangler remained ancy, his knee bobbing up and down listening to screeching owlet drone on and on about her husband, and the problem was that her husband was still alive.
The hitman had unfinished business to attend to, leaving the Boss imp chained at some unnamed location. The only solace the city imp had going for him was somewhere out there. Mildred was still searching for her husband’s killer.
Blitzo felt a sudden wave of nausea curdle within his stomach. Blood residue stains the corners of his mouth. Striker had found a way to control him, using his own blood as the drug the outlaw fed into his addiction. Knowing he could bend the Assassin’s will to match his own. Striker grits his teeth, knowing that Stella wanted Blitzo dead. But even Stella didn’t know how close the crimson devil was from actually dying.
The Cowboy tilts his hat to cover his eyes. He nibbles on his lower lip. If he didn’t think of something soon, then he’d end up losing the best partner he ever had.   Blitzo just needed a little more time, and he’d start coming around. The machines were there to help him. Striker was assured that all the Boss imp needed was a little more convincing. ” Perhaps the mangy mutt he calls a daughter can lend a hand,” he thought.
Nightmares had spawned during those long horrify nights alone. The shadows crawled up the wall, twisting and contorting into something hideous. Blitzo closes his eyes, taunting images come to life: the death of the gun-specialist is played on a loop. The gnawing guilt weighs heavily. Blitzo whimpering.
He could barely lift an arm. Striker had nearly drained him. Before feeding him bad blood. poisonous blood. He hadn’t been allowed to bathe in days. His brain was like a bag full of cats. As shadows darted in and out. Mmm-Moxie! he exclaimed. His eyes widening in fear and alarm, his heart pounding in his chest. No, no, he told himself; it was another illusion. But those hard, cruel, amber eyes pierced right through him.
The scarlet devil gasps, feeling a tiny blade enter through his ribs. He could hear Moxie snarling in his ear. But he couldn’t decipher the language. The Boss imp peers past Moxie’s shoulders, locking eyes on a set familiar to his own. It was watching him with a look of mild annoyance. It stood over six feet and was observing him from the shadows of the foyer.
Blitzo swallowed thickly, fighting against Moxie, as another blade inches closer, this time nicking his neck. Blitzo’s attention was divided. The inferno imp thought he could see the outline of wings cast onto the wall: were those shadows.. or... Blitzo struggles, not wanting to submit to the vindictive devil.
This version of himself terrifies him. He hated what he had been reduced to. He was strong when Striker needed him to be, but was like putty in Striker’s artful hands when it came to everything else. Were these hallucinations? Would he be joining Moxie in death soon?. were these some type of harbingers meant to send him on his way into the afterlife?. Blitzo didn’t want to find out, best-case scenario he thought to himself, these are all in my head. Striker’s venom must’ve been extra potent. Blitzo gritted his teeth, bringing Moxie’s face to his own. “I told you to shoot him! And he ended up shooting you instead! snarls the Boss imp.
Striker was just toying with him. That bastard was like all the rest: Blitzo had traded a gilded cage for a leash and a dirty collar. Striker was more vindictive and cunning than he thought. Every time Blitzo swayed or let something slide, the Cowboy would just come down harder on him. He twists his words around, and dances him around like strings on a marinate. The gunslinger was intent on keeping Blitzo separated and out of reach of his family, and that filthy blueblood.
Blitzo’s eyes were solely locked onto the demon before him. He barely acknowledged the thudding footfalls of steel tipped boots approaching. Gritting his teeth, his hand went to his side, gripping the handlebar sticking out of the ribcage. The dark figure of a prestigious vampire Lord emerges from the looming shadow only to tower over his counterpart.
Blitzo trembles, refusing to look up, using all his strength to push back against the entity before him. Confusion washes over the omega as the vampire’s hand comes to clasp the Baron’s shoulder.
Moxie looks up growling: his eye flashing with animosity while Blitzillion’s cold calculating eyes rake over the Boss imp lithe form. Blitzo growls. Snarling
With a sudden jolt, Blitzo leaps out of the bed, only to be ensnared by the vampire. The scarlet devil is caught under the scrutinizing gaze, feeling both naked and vulnerable.
The Vampire could hear the blood rushing through his body, the rapid beat of his heart. He flicks off the monitor, which was screeching something terrible.
Moxie’s eyes widen as Blitzillion seizes him by the neck, Moxie claws at his hands as the vampire squeeze’s. whilst eyes made of tarnished gold flicker between two unworldly beings.
The Baron growls, twisting his body, as Blitzillion’s grasp tightens uncomfortably, to where the Baron could barely breathe.
“He’s dying” the Baron rasps.
“That is enough,” warns the vampire Lord. As the malnourished imp clutches his head, his eyes water believing his mind was playing games on him. This could also be another cruel joke used to break him, by that vicious snake- of a cowboy.
“This is not real, just a dream.”
“It’s not real, just a hallucination” The Omega murmurs clutching his head.
“Maybe next time I’m offered food, I should eat it. I’m not helping Moxie by starving myself. Striker was right,”
The Wrangler’s blood was still smeared across his mouth. He could feel his stomach churning and tightening uncomfortably as he groans, trying to breathe through the pain.
“I just want my Loona with me,” thought the Boss imp sadly.
Barbie-wire, or Fizzorolli, would be nice, he thought grimly as tremors wracked his body. Blitzillion just stared down at him, grabbing a nearby pillow. The Omega was dying, and this was his brain’s futile attempt to comfort him.
His head was throbbing with pain, his body aches. The Boss imp swallows thickly, waiting for the vampire or the Baron to finish him. He threw an arm over his eyes. Joyless laughter bubbled up, hollowly ringing through the room.
He needed to escape these hallucinations, but any effort would remain futile.
Blitzillion invades the Boss imp’s space while another shadow lurks within the foyer. Their eyes swirling spirals of green glowing. Blitzo’s eyes lock onto this strange imp as the Vampire grips his chin and examines him. Noticing how thin he is, how broken he has become.
The imp, this Omega, was a mere child to him, on the cusp of life. He could feel the Boss imp trembling as Blitzo gazes defiantly up at him. Striker’s blood shimmering in the dim lighting of the room.
Blitzillion leans over and licks the blood from the corner’s of his mouth: Blitzo’s eyes widen as the vampire purrs into the open-mouthed kiss, the Omega is taken aback by this bizarre turn of events.
“Come with me child, there is nothing for you here” his voice was dark and rich: rumbling in a chilling baritone that made Moxie back off with an irritable hiss.
