And here's the consolidated list (mostly?) All from Diamond in the Rough, character notes below cut (not in same order as pics)
Considered a few different systems for assigning gems (gemstone family, value, etc.) but ultimately just went with color/relative familiarity of gem. There’s so many cool gems out there~ (I was trying to not be too repetitive with types/use more common ones though Quartz has a million interesting varieties!)
Mega Man, Blue Sapphire Sphere I wavered a lot on his ‘trinket’, Sapphire seemed obvious (especially with Proto being a ruby, both are corundum gemstones) but also considered blue diamond, alexandrite (blue/purple color shift), and aquamarine. For the jewelry, was also considering an atomic model (for chemistry?), a screwdriver, and slightly regretting not considering circlet
Roll, Amethyst Earring: primarily always wanted amethyst, but also considered heliodor, padparadscha sapphire (but it wasn’t quite the right color? and perhaps too obscure), tanzanite, morganite, zoisite, kunsite, iolite, (purple gems etc.) For shape, was considering spikes/fangs though that’s also Treble and Punk’s lol
Bass, Emerald Snake Arm Cuff: loosely based on a real arm cuff I saw in a book. Also considered black diamond, green diamond (he’s the titular ‘diamond in the rough’), and black opal
Proto Man, Ruby Aviator Badge: I went with ruby in the end, which seemed most obvious choice, but also considered red diamond and bixbite (red beryl)
Elec Man, Black Opal Ring: Also considered chatoyant Sapphire, Alexandrite (??? color shift?), chrysoberyl, angelite/anhydrite, and even hawkeye quartz (loosely inspired by a real hawkeye ‘lightning’ ring, before that I was thinking cufflinks, but seemed weird for him to become either a pair of gems, or even a single cufflink lol)
Jewel Man, Colorless Beryl (Goshenite) Monocle - also considered rock crystal, diamond, and Padparadscha sapphire. Apparently both beryl and rock crystal were historically used for eyeglasses. Monocle is a reference to gentleman thief archtypes, also they are just fancy. (Also I realized while drawing this that having a plique a jour monocle chain is probably super impractical, oh well lol)
Top Man, Imperial Topaz  Pendant in a Jeweled Egg - also considered alexandrite and spinel (for the pun, heh) and spessertite
Kalinka/Mega Girl, Rose Quartz Blossom Barrette: Pink :) though I considered other lesser known (but more valuable) pink gems
Quint, Alexandrite Wristwatch: Quint is a time traveler (of sorts), also considered model armillary sphere/astrolabe, a screwdriver, and jade or malachite or nanocrystal
Wily, Agate Cameo Belt Buckle: Loosely inspired by his skull belt in some of his game art, also considered amythist
Dr. Light, Alabaster bead on a bookmark tassel:  Dr. Light likes books! Was also considering rock crystal and goshenite
Ring Man, Zircon Hoop Bracelet: Reference to both his namesake and his carney background. Was also considering class ring (before assigning the ring to Elec Man) and a circlet. ‘Zircon’ just sounds circusy, must be the Z
Magnet Man, Garnet Horseshoe Amulet: garnets are apparently magnetic, also considered fridge magnet
Cut Man, Citrine Paperknife: for obvious reasons. I also considered topaz for the gem
Guts Man, Tourmaline Paperweight: funny/fitting pairing with the paper knife, the shape is in reference to the boulder he holds in game art (for a brief week, was a rock crystal until I realized those are clear lol smokey quartz would have made more sense)
Punk, Spinel Motorcycle Chain: ‘Spinel’ may be a derivative from Latin ’spina’ which means thorn
Rush, Labradorite Bone Collar Tag: Went for the pun!
Treble, Howlite Fang: and ditto for Treble
Others that weren’t in chapter (this list has no significance what-so-ever, I brainstormed a list of gems but also ‘trinkets’ and my brain just started associating lol)
Beat, Aquamarine Aigrette: Beat actually avoided transformation, but that’s what he would have been
Gyro Man: Mood Ring
Dr. Cossack: Selenite something or other
Dark Man: D20
Time Man: a pocket watch
Enker: Chess piece
Metal Man: A knife
Shadow Man: Also a knife, maybe jade
Yamato Man: Natsuke
Burner Man: Match Box
Fake Man: phenakite, derived from greek word for deceiver
Magic Man: Card Case
Needle Man: Rutilated quartz (it has needle-like inclusions)
Pharaoh Man: Scarab collar pin/cloak clasp
Star Man: Star Saphire?
And that's it from the notes, haha.

Defying Certain Death Part 20
Dual posted to my DeviantArt account, a non-sexual G/T vore story featuring adults along the lines of the lion and the thorn fable. There will be tons of hurt/comfort aspects, lots of safe vore. That is the primary focus in this.
Barrett is an adult giant standing 85ft tall and Hope is an adult human at 5ft 6. Barrett does not eat children at any point.
Warnings: Fighting; Fatal Mention; Characters in Distress
Future and Previous: While this part has no fatalities, future parts include fatal vore and violence. Barrett, the giant, is not a good guy, so will be doing some occasional bad things.
Editor: @vore-scientist

Since what happened with the thieves, Barrett did not like being away from camp for long. He didn’t like the idea of Hope being vulnerable or at risk, but taking care of her during her illness hadn’t let him hunt as frequently as usual. He didn’t want to leave her alone, but she also clearly didn’t like seeing when he ate humans, and he suspected she would react similarly to seeing him eat any other sort of small folk. But he needed food, and going hungry longer than usual meant he couldn’t afford to be picky. Which unfortunately meant leaving Hope at camp and hoping the smell of a syor living there would scare off most things. At least today had been a good hunt. A nice moose was caught, not a common find, and large enough to be rather filling. He paused on his walk back and his ears flicked as he heard an unfamiliar male voice. And he dropped his catch and charged forward. He flicked up the tertiary eyelid organ to see past the trees…something larger than Hope was at their camp. His feet moved with instinct before thoughts even formed.
Another predator was in camp. Another predator was with his Hope.
“MINE!”
-----Earlier....-----
Hope was rather startled when a large naga, standing probably about 25 ft tall or a tad shorter, came through the trees. He had long curly hair that was so intensely black it was as if dipped in ink, but there were streaks of gray despite no other outward signs of great age.. From his vibrant blue coloration, and his thick build, he wasn't one of the native varieties. She wondered if his kind, like native nagas, had the potential to be dangerous predators. He very well could be, but if he was, he wasn't hunting her, instead he smiled warmly, “Hello there! I think I got a bit lost. Can you tell me where I am?”
Still, she was a bit wary. This could be a trick. And yet… How long had it been since she’d talked to someone? “I haven’t seen nagas your size in this area before. Too close to a syor settlement for them to thrive.”
The naga paused, considering, “Then I must be very far off track... May I sit here?” he asked as he gestured near where she sat on the shore of the lake.
Hope nodded, “I don’t mind... but you may not want to stay long. There’s a syor in the area, and I doubt he would react well to you.”
The naga nodded in return, then curled up in a seated position near her before reassuring her and introducing himself, “That’s alright. I’m quite confident I can handle myself. I’ve studied quite a bit of magic. I’m Taevis by the way.”
The potential overconfidence didn't do much to assuage Hope’s concerns. But they had just started talking and it was going so well, and Barrett was probably still hunting decently far away. “I’m Hope. You say you studied magic but didn’t mention the college... Did you study somewhere else? Like I heard there’s places of study on the far continent... I hope you are right about being able to defend yourself from a syor. He will come back for me... so far doesn’t seem to intend to eat me, but that could probably change at any time... but he definitely isn’t going to let me run off. He left me here while he went to hunt, you can see the tent he uses right over there. If you want, I have a pretty good idea of the direction of the nearest syorian town. They can help you get your bearings there.”
Taevis listened attentively to her, frowning a bit at her ramblings. “If you want me to leave that badly, I can head off... but I was enjoying your company. I’ve been wandering lost for a while now.”
Hope’s eyes widened as she realized her rudeness and she shook her head vigorously, “Oh I definitely love the company. Since that syor has decided to... I don’t know... keep me? I haven’t had much chance to speak to people. Mostly just him, and that’s mostly me hoping every day that he doesn’t change his mind about keeping me alive. I just worry about your safety is all. If you are that confident you can defend yourself, I really do love having someone to talk to. I’ve missed it.”
Taevis’ face flushed slightly, “I don’t intend to scare, but I’m pretty confident I’m one of the most dangerous things around! I’d be far more worried about being lost than about the syor. But even if I’m dangerous, I’m not going to hurt you. I’m really glad to have run into someone so helpful to a stranger!”
“I like to help people... but my desire to help others has gotten me in trouble a few times,” Hope chuckled nervously, “Like the fact these days I rarely get to see or talk to anyone. Last time he found a traveler, he just ate them. Can’t exactly have a conversation if the person immediately becomes food... And it’s not like I can have much conversation with the syor... I’m still not sure how long he’s going to keep me around before I end up like that traveler.” Hope shrugged and took a deep breath , “But nothing I can do about it, so at the very least I can be kind to the first person I’ve had a proper conversation with in... I’m not even sure how long anymore. Two months? Three?”
Taevis considered her words then smiled down at Hope, “You could always come with me. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t go around eating travelers, at least. I have no real idea where I’m going at the moment, but it sounds better than staying here!”
Hope sighed even deeper and tried to laugh but it came out wrong, “That’s very kind of you, but I guarantee the syor won’t let me go. But until he comes back, if you want, I have plenty of food. He’s been taking everything the travelers carry, and the amount of food... it’ll go bad before I could ever eat it all. It’s in that cart over there. As for directions... following the lake shore that way will lead to a river. There’s a town just upstream,” she pointed in the direction of the town.
This new revelation surprised Taevis, “He eats travelers and makes you use their stuff? That’s kind of fucked up! And it seems a proper comb hasn’t been in those supplies. How about I help you with your hair a bit, since you’ve helped me with my problem of being lost?”and he pulled a human sized comb from one of the pouches at his waist.
Now it was Hope’s turn to be surprised, and she nodded hesitantly. She tensed up when he put his hands around her to pick her up and set her on his coils, if he was hunting her she was now in his clutches. At least she knew Barrett would avenge her. Then her fear melted away as the comb went through her hair.  The strong but delicate hands held her secure and though the comb pulled a bit, it felt nice rather than painful. She didn't even flinch when he took out a knife to cut the dead ends. How long had it been since someone had been gentle with her?
Hope was so relaxed she didn't hear Taevis ask her about her life before ending up in her current situation. He had to repeat the question. Now she genuinely smiled, not a shred of discomfort left, “I had a beautiful farm... I actually came out this way to get some new...”
“MINE!”
The roar came as Barrett charged out of the trees.
The naga hissed and slithered back rapidly and held himself tall, knife in one hand, and with the other… Well he tried to put Hope behind him, to protect the vulnerable human. But she ran out and stood between the two monsters.
Hope was determined to defuse the situation without bloodshed, and she knew Barrett’s first instinct would be to grab her, though she was worried that Taevis would attack as she was lifted up by the syor. Thankfully he didn’t. And more thankfully, Barrett, who was running on pure possessive instinct, didn't crack any ribs snatching her up.
With Hope in hand Barrett’s eyes looked down upon the naga, taking its smaller size and making quick judgments as to how dangerous it may be. His predator calculations worked quickly to give him an answer. “Looks like I don’t need to hunt anymore…”
A deeper hiss, almost a growl, came from the naga, “Listen, syor. I did not come seeking a fight, but it will not go well if you press the issue.”
Barrett growled lower, “You were messing with something that belongs to me. I know you could smell I have been here a while and she is mine. Besides, I still need a meal.”
“I recommend hunting elsewhere,” Taevis warned, eyes flashing.
Barrett smirked, confident as he extended his claws, “But I just found something large enough I won’t have to hunt for a few days… Why would I walk away from such a substantial meal?”
The naga exhaled a cloud of frosty mist, intending the elemental magic to be sufficient warning and make it clear to this syor that physical size won’t win this fight. A miscalculation on his part, the syor charged forward and slashed with his claws. The unexpected stupidity caught Taevis off guard and he felt pain as the claws made contact. Then the lightning Taevis had been preparing struck Barrett’s arm, making the syor jerk back as his skin burned and muscles seized with electricity and pain.
Barrett hesitated to charge again, his predator brain re-calculating. While a large meal was good, getting Hope away from this other predator was top priority. It was time to leave, or convince the naga to leave. Cursing from the pain of the attack he spat at the naga, “What the fuck… nagas don’t do that… Just… get out of here. I’ll just eat the human.”
Taevis let out a very un-naga-like growl, “I was afraid you’d say that,” and lunged forward with another bolt of electricity. At the same time Barrett pulled a dagger from his waist, snarling.
Barrett charged again, slashing the dagger at the naga’s face and cutting him across the cheek. This time he knew he lacked the element of surprise, and making contact with the knife wasn't his true goal. As Taevis moved away Barrett anticipated the direction and kicked at the naga’s serpent body, punting it into the lake. It landed with a satisfying splash and Barrett allowed himself a self congratulatory purr. Until the surface of the lake bulged, a hill as large as himself made of water rose up, and broke.
Instead of a naga emerging from the water, a horned humanoid that was, to Barrett's acute dismay, well over a head taller than he was. Horns curved back on the head, bluish silver scales visible on the cheeks under the gash from the dagger. Decorative metal decorated the horns as well as earrings and even gold cuffs on the draconic wings spreading behind him. A long reptilian tail, adorned with those silver scales and fins on the end lashed back and forth creating waves taller than Hope in the water. True vicious talons on the hands made Barrett suddenly aware of his own less substantial retractable claws. A demidragon. Offspring or descended from true dragons, and no less dangerous than the full blooded sort.
The demidragon stepped out of the lake, clawed feet furrowing the damp ground, and Barrett struggled to not show apprehension as Taevis spread his wings to further emphasize his superior size. Barrett was determined to deny Taevis the satisfaction and showing any fear. And Barrett was afraid… but Hope was his and only his, so he tightened his grip on his blade, and held Hope to his chest. “Just leave! I won’t let you take her!” Focusing on his own abilities, Barrett decided to demonstrate the magic syor did have. He flung the dagger, using his natural magic to shoot it towards Taevis’ wing joint. But the demidragon, with an agonizingly casual motion, blocked it with an arm.
With his focus split between his dagger and his Hope, even his quick reflexes failed as Taevis quickly turned his thick tail, sweeping Barrett’s feet out from under him, followed by a horrible loud THUMP and CRACK as Barrett landed on his back. “Don’t you fucking touch Hope! I’ll cut your throat!” His voice broke with fear instead of aggression as he tried the knife again, flinging it wildly at Taevis.
Having announced the second attack, Taevis was easily able to grab the dagger from mid-air. He ignored the blood dripping from his palm and electricity crackled through his hand, heating the knife white hot and deforming it in the shape of his grip.
Taevis let it drop as he stepped forward, placed a heavy clawed foot on Barrett's chest, knelt down, and got his talons around the wrist which held Hope. Barrett’s eyes narrowed and he growled, “I’ll bite your throat out! I won’t let you take her!”
Taevis ignored him and spoke words that Barrett did not recognize, summoning gleaming magic that wrapped rapidly around the syor. Once the syor was thoroughly immobilized, Taevis growled, “You want to eat her. I’m not going to let that happen.” He pressed his talons into the soft underflesh of Barrett's wrist and with his other hand pried open Barretts fist. It wasn't that hard, the syor was not crushing the human; not that surprising since they like them alive and squirming after all.
Barrett snarled at the demidragon, “Like I would actually eat the woman who saved my life!”
That piqued Taevis’ interest and against his better judgment he let the syor continue to breathe and speak.
“But saying that makes other syor back off so I thought it would work with other predators!”
Taevis studied the syor’s expression, thinking. He wasn’t from this region, but had heard from travelers that syor were unusually honest, unless deceit was needed for extreme situations. Keeping a human was not an extreme situation.. Protecting kin, mates, and other giants that were close might qualify and thus force abnormally honest creature to lie… But he did not have enough experience with the species to be sure.
“Hmm… Do not try to get loose from your bindings.” He moved to open his own hand that had taken Hope from the syor, holding her on upturned palm to try to make her feel less restrained, “Hope, is what he saying true? He threatened to rip my throat out… which was… unexpected.” He could see Hope was nervous with his larger size, so he further adjusted his hold and she relaxed a bit more.
It still took a moment for her to find her voice, “I… did save his life. That’s what I meant by helping others ending badly… I was about to tell you before he showed up… and… he has said he’ll eat me to another syor who tried to grab me once… but I’ve never been sure if saving his life was enough that he wouldn’t change his mind about keeping me alive…”
Barrett was surprised by the last part of what Hope said, “I was half starved after you spent weeks freeing me from that rockslide and I didn’t kill you then! Why would I kill you now when I’m not half starved to death?”
In an attempt to reassure Hope, Taevis cupped his hand slightly to provide a cage of talons between her and the syor. His eyes flashed as he glared at Barrett, “I was speaking to the young woman. I am not going to trust you until she corroborates your claims… Besides, can‘t hardly blame her with your kind’s reputation.”
To Taevis’ surprise, Hope peeked over his hand to look at Barrett, “Your kind is notorious for having no regard for human life, and the way you have been hunting travelers makes it clear that hasn’t changed!” her harsh expression turned to surprise as she heard her own torrent of words. She sighed, sitting down on Taevis’s palm as she considered what else her new… friend? captor? wanted to know, “I… I don’t know. I’ve been stuck with him this long and… I just don’t know. He acts sorta nice, for a syor I guess… but also won’t let me leave… It didn't exactly help matters when he tortured and ate my father right in front of me…”
Barrett’s ears twitched at the mention of her father, “I do not regret eating your father. When I brought him back because he smelled like you, the look of pure fear on your face at the sight of him made it clear what I had to do.”
“Should I give you two some privacy?” Taevis narrowed his eyes, “Or perhaps it is my having her safe from you that allows such a discussion…” His tone softened a bit, “If so can at least get more comfortable…?”
Barrett let out a deep hissing sigh, “Hope barely says a word to me these days. The last time she has said this much was when I was trapped under those rocks. I do not like these restraints and I do not like you touching what’s mine… But Hope is actually talking to me for once.”
Hope looked down briefly as she thought about the situation, then at the hand around her, then up at Taevis before looking back down, “Well… a demidragon is strong enough that if you did lose your temper, you couldn’t hurt me…” She turned her eyes to meet Taevis’s, “Please don’t leave me alone with him…”
Taevis nodded, “Well then, Hope… if you are confident enough in my protection, would you mind if I released his restraints before I lose feeling in my knees? I won’t leave, and I won’t set you down until you are ready.” Hope took some time to consider and nodded. Taevis gestured and released the magic restraining Barrett however hee tensed in preparation as Barrett sat up.“I recommend sitting near the lake, the cool water will ease the electrical burns.”
Barrett hesitated, his instincts to care for his wounds at war with his aversion to moving even a few steps further away from Hope. Finally the pain won and he knelt by the water to soak his wrist.
Hope expressed a bit of surprise, “You burned Barrett?”she glanced back at his tail again.
Taevis only glanced briefly at hope, keeping focused on Barrett, “So that’s his name? And yes. While my tail may have the fins of the oceanic dragons, I’m a mix of silver and oceanic..” -
Hope nodded as she thought over that explanation, “That explains the lightning. I’ve met silver dragons and demidragons before. Even had some visit my farm on occasion.”
Taevis smiled slightly, “I heard some of my kind live around this continent, but I actually traveled here from quite far away, This is my first encounter with one of his kind” meaning syor, “I’d heard stories of these ‘evil giants that treat smaller races as food’. I thought it might be an exaggeration, but he has proven me wrong.” He turned to look at Barrett with a slight glare, “I now suspect you could tell I wasn’t threatening her and you were using ‘protection’ as an excuse to make a meal of me before you knew what I am. With that kind of behavior, I don’t blame her for fearing a change of heart!”
Barrett gave a snort, “You aren’t her. She’s special. She spent weeks saving my life, so I intend to protect her. You were a potential meal. Good meat ain’t always easy to find.”
Taevis thought for a moment as he calmed, “While I understand protecting those you care about, and getting a nice treat as a bonus… that doesn’t seem to be what you were actually doing. It is curious that you would act as if it was…I heard syor aren’t big on deception, and the only one you would be deceiving is Hope… meaning.”
Taevis waited to see if Barrett would continue and when he didn’t, “Meaning… you do care about not upsetting her enough to go against your normal straightforward nature.”
Barrett grumbled under his breath a bit. Clearly unhappy with the implication he was being dishonest in some way, but also not outright denying it. It was true that syor tended to be true to their word and not all that inclined to lie. Occasionally lying to give false hope to humans they caught, that he had done. But that’s not what Taevis was talking about. Protecting a human’s feelings was simply not done. “Still not happy about you touching Hope…”
Hope frowned, “I don’t see what the big deal is, he’s been very kind and friendly.”
Taevis rolled his eyes, “and Yet at you do seem happy that she is more open to talking. But perhaps you will be in a more amicable mood after having some food.”
Barrett gave a slight snort, “Well the bull moose I killed before I saw you is enough for me and Hope.”
This, for reasons Barrett couldn’t understand but Taevis could, angered Hope, “Wait, you were successful at hunting, but you still tried to eat a naga?”
Barrett shrugged, “Bull moose is a meal for one day, naga is a meal for several.”
Taevis glanced around the campsite, “I don’t see anything for you to prepare the moose… Where is your cooking fire?”
Barrett rolled his eyes, “Why would I waste time cooking it? The only reason I didn’t eat it immediately was to see if Hope wanted some.”
Taevis pinched his nose, “You are saying that all these piles of supplies and you don’t even prepare proper meals for yourself? No wonder you are so scrawny and hungry.” He surveyed the piles, “Hope will never use the supplies before they go bad, so why not combine the moose with some veggies that are about to go bad and make something that will last both of us a couple days?”
Barrett was rather confused at the suggestion, “Mix the meat… with something else? You mean like the syorian do? I’m not a wimpy syorian. I don’t do that. I hunt like any proper syor.”
The look of astonishment on Taevis’ face made Barrett uncomfortable, and Taevis’ response didn’t help “You.. aren’t familiar with cooking…” he said with concern before grinning with all his teeth. A mouth full of vicious fangs. “Well I happen to be a very good cook. It will keep it from going bad and be much more filling.”
Hope piped up, “There’s a ton of metal cookware in the carts! If we combine all the metal we have we can make a great pan to cook with! Oh I would love to share some recipes! I wonder if they would turn out as good when done at such a large size…”
Barrett was taken aback by Hope’s boldness and excitement about the prospect of cooking yet he was still hesitant. He wasn’t sure if he should be offended or not, “You want me to do what syorians do with food…”
Taevis arched a brow as he looked at Barrett again, “Like demidragons do. Like many scaly dragons do. You aren’t saying your kind are better than dragons, are you?” he flashed his teeth again.
Barrett frowned and looked away, not sure how to respond. Taevis stood. “I’m going to go find that dead moose. You keep soaking that hand. Hope seems to want to stay by me at the moment, but we will remain close, I can smell it is just beyond those trees.”
Barrett gave a slight snarl, “I don’t like you having my Hope… But she…” his words faltered so instead he growled, “Try to steal her and demidragon or not I will hunt you down.”
With a shrug of his wings Taevis turned to walk back into the woods, and hoped to have a private conversation with Hope before their return to the clearing, assuming the syor stayed by the lake to soak the burn.

Bad News || Fem!Reader x Wade Barrett
Summary: You're in over you head again tonight, and, in the chaos of it all, end up with a busted and bruised lip that wasn't planned for. --word count: 910. -- warnings/tw: mentions of bl00d. -- A/N: i'm a bit rusty on writing as it's been ages, though i'm convinced to try and make a few chapters/parts/continuation of this. it's a bit shorter than i hope, but enjoy nonetheless!
Tumblr media
On multiple occasion, I had found myself in a situation I shouldn't of been in. A fight was an often occurrence between myself and Rhea, a consistent thorn in the other's side. Often enough, I was told I always had a knack for indirectly instigating things I shouldn't, even if it wasn't my intention in the first place.
Our fights accompanied nearly half of our interactions, and it was always a flip flop on if we'd actually get into a brawl or not. In this instance though, in all of the chaos, in all of the fighting, I hadn't been careful enough, lucky enough, to miss a punch from Rhea, leading my own lips to her balled up fist.
I had stumbled back, shocked at the sudden connection, before the actual thought crossed my mind that she had done it, Rhea bloody Ripley had punched me. It was a solid five seconds before my body and mind synced, my body finally moving to attack back, not realizing my lip, now busted, and soon, bruised, had begun gushing blood.
It didn't take long for security and other staff to rush in upon hearing the scuffle, followed with us yelling at the top of our lungs at the other as they pulled us apart.
"Break it up, ladies, break it up!" Yelled the all too familiar voice of Pearce, not daring to step too in the middle, yet help as much as he could. It almost had gotten to the point that Rhea slipped out to come for another punch, only to be yanked back again and, this time, officially held back.
"You're dead meat, Hendrix! Dead meat!" Rhea's voice had yelled at me, through the sudden wave of workers. "I'm going to kick your ass!"
I scoff, laughing and smiling through the blood that ran like a river from my lip. "I'd like to see you try!" I snipped back at her, security pulling me the opposite direction.
Once the scuffle was under control, it didn't take long for Adam to bark orders, demanding security took me to medical to get treated. One of the medical personnel, Jason was his name, I believe, started quickly on getting the bleeding stopped, a couple other personnel helping as they could.
Adam, once he had ensured Rhea was gone and no longer near, came into medical soon after, my gaze, dark and unhappy, landing on him as he walked in. At this point, the bleeding had been stopped, and they were cleaning the wound. "So good news is, you and Rhea are battling this out next week, should your busted lip be better." He starts, hands on his hips. Does he really think a match will solve everything that's happened up to this moment? I thought to myself, before shrugging off the thought.
I stick my head out at him slightly, as I waited, expecting to hear some sort of bad news to come from him, yet none came. "Is there… any bad news?" Uncertainty laced my voice, keeping still as much as I could for Jason.
"Not exactly." There was this look on Adam's face, knowing there wasn't anything that was particularly bad from his part, but yet, couldn't really say if whatever was to happen was bad or not. That was reassuring. "Wade's not exactly happy." I roll my eyes, Jason stepping aside for a moment, grabbing an ice pack to hand me. 'You'll have some swelling and bruising, holding this to your lip for a little,' he told me. No doubt that Wade managed to get Saxxton to sit in for him. "As soon as he saw your busted lip on the screen, he wanted back here."
"That adds up…" I thank Jason as he steps aside. It didn't take long to hear Wade's demanding voice approaching, thundering through the hallways. My head swings to the open door, seeing Wade's frame come into the doorway. His face is in a scowl, as usual in situations like this.
In a couple long strides, he stood in front of me, his pointer finger and thumb pinching my chin as he lifts my head up, instinctively moving the ice pack away from my lip. "You are always bad news, you know that? How do you keep getting into these situations?" Anger tinged Wade's voice, yet it sounded like his voice had softened and quieted at the same time. "I tell you to not get into situations like this."
I can't do anything else but stare. Wade's own gaze was focused on gauging my busted lip, yet my eyes watched his. For a man so angry at me, the concern was comforting, despite him calling me bad news. On many occasion, Wade would parade around and say he'd come back to wrestle, just so he'd be around me to ensure I had some level headedness in my life and that I was protected.
As much as that was wished for by myself, I knew better. He loved his role as a commentator, and that was something I didn't want to see him set aside for me.
Wade's gaze connects with mine, an almost unreadable look in them as he stared at me. His voice low, he says one simple thing to me, one simple thing that stuck, his almost vindictive tone shining through. "If this can all simply be avoided by me being back out there wrestling with you and protecting you… Don't you dare think for one second that I won't pull on those boots again, Amaya…"

Follow Me Deeper Into the Unknown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Follow Me Deeper Into the Unknown is Lyssa's first story in the series The Glorious Thorn and chapter 1: This is the End of the World That You Know is now live on ao3. The fic is rated Explicit for graphic depictions of violence (in a coming chapter.)
Lyssa Shrike was just trying to start over. Again. She was content to break rocks on remote planets if it meant her past couldn't find her. But Fortune's smile never shined on her for long. After the Crimson Fleet shrike her crew on Vectera, Lyssa finds herself teaming up with a smooth talking adventurer from the renowned explorers guild, Constellation, to shrike back before anyone else gets hurt.
You can find the fist chapter by clicking here!
and as always a peek at the first chapter below the cut:
“Looks like a party out here,” a man said in a jovial smooth baritone, “expecting other company?”
Lyssa looked up to see two men in white spacesuits, various patches on their shoulders, standing next to her cart. She glanced up the ramp to see an old model-A robot parked at the base of the loading bay ramp of their ship. It had its optics trained on one of its red hands, watching as it slowly rotated. She turned back to the buyers, “pirates inbound. If you can fight I imagine my boss would appreciate the assistance, otherwise you might want to retreat to your ship until it’s clear.”
“I told you not to bring the Frontier,” the second man nudged the first’s shoulder.
“I could have sworn I shook them,” the first man shook his head.
“Wait, that’s the Frontier?” Lyssa looked back at the aged ship and the fresh scorch marks on the hull. She sighed and mumbled under her breath, “fucking hell, this day just keeps getting better and better.”
“It is,” the first man smiled big, “you’ve heard of the old girl?”
A lot of different answers all surfaced in Lyssa’s mind. None of them appropriate for the current situation. Instead she sighed and looked back toward the camp, Heller at the stairs motioning for the miners to join him while Lin approached the ramp, “Heard Fortune’s smile blesses that ship and her captain, if old jack-a-bones are to be believed.”
“You sound like a friend of ours,” the second man said with a laugh. His voice had a rougher edge than the first man and an accent that Lyssa placed somewhere in the Freestar Collective.
“Liiin!” the first man seemed to sing as the boss walked up the ramp with the weird metal object clutched in what Lyssa had no doubt was a white knuckle grip, “Good to see you!”
“Don’t you Lin me, Barrett,” Lin sounded done with the man, Lyssa’s old training causing her to half turn, her new pistol primed at her side. Lin glanced over and let out a small chuckle, “stand down, Shrike. He annoys me to no end but isn’t worth the paperwork.”
“Your Shrike here mentioned pirates were inbound?” the second man mentioned while motioning in Lyssa’s direction. He wore a vulpine grin under his meticulously manicured mustache, “and you might need some extra guns?”
“No might about it,” Lin huffed as the emergency alarm sounded, signaling the incoming threat, “you better have the credits, Barrett. This thing has caused too many problems today for you to come up short.”
“We’re good for it,” Barrett held up his hands in surrender, “sorry about bringing the pirates your way.”
“You?” Lin raised her eyebrows as she stuffed the weird object into her boostpack storage, “you brought them?”
“Thought I shook them,” Barrett shrugged.
Lin’s eyes locked onto Lyssa, “your friend mention this?”
“Funny you should ask,” Lyssa was scrolling her messages in her heads up display, “just messaged me with an update. They are in fact after multiple targets now.”
“Great, just great,” Lin took a deep breath and exhaled slow.

A Temple Unearthed
"God damn them all, I was told
We'd cruise the seas for American gold
We'd fire no guns, shed no tears
Now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier
The last of Barrett's privateers"
-Barrett’s Privateers
“Ow! Ussopp, where the hell are you taking us, the Temple of the Mountain King?” Sanji yelped, being scratched by thorns and pricker bushes.
”Oh shut up, curly brows, you’re such a priss.” Zoro moaned, cutting down a low-hanging vine in his way.
Ussopp rolled his eyes before responding, ”Sanji, you were with me when I found it. You know exactly where we’re going.”
”Yeah, well, I don’t remember it being so painful.”
”Well, maybe if you didn’t have the pace of an eighty-year-old woman, you wouldn’t be getting snagged.” Zoro retorted, wishing he had just stayed on the boat and told them to figure it out themselves.
“Oh, like you’re one to talk, Mr.-“
”If you two don’t shut up, I will sew your lips shut myself, and I won’t numb you up like Chopper does.” Ussopp shouted.
The two taller men promptly shut their mouths, quick to not piss off their crew member with ample access to explosives. Ussopp sniffed before turning around and continuing to lead the others towards the monolith that awaited him. The vegetation around them became far more dense and intertwined. Vines as thick as his arm were knotted and twisted around each other, weaving a wall around their destination. Finally, they were met with the vision of what appeared to be a giant knot made of vines and thorns. Leading up to the ball of knots were these lines of vines that almost looked like veins leading to the heart.
A low whistle came from Zoro as he looked up in awe at the foliage. “This is what you needed me for?”
”Yeah, we can’t break through.”
”Alright, I’ve got it.”
Zoro lifted Wado Ichimonji and swung down swiftly, yawning. The knot fell away, the two halves rocking on their sides. In its centre sat a large palace that had been left abandoned long ago. The earth beneath them suddenly began to shake as the vines untangled themselves and sank back into the forest like snakes. The men stared in awe at the feat of nature happening around them. Not only did the vines seem to want to get away from the palace, but the ground as well. The earth rippled away from the palace like waves on the shore, knocking the three men to their feet. This upheaval revealed more of the palace that had been buried and hidden. Finally, the rumbling and shaking settled. Which gave way to the imposing silence, a silence that was so impressive you could hear a pin drop.
The three men sat in the silence, taking in the impressive outline of the palace. Arches and staircases lined the front of the extravagant entrance. Stained glass windows caked in dirt and mud from centuries of being underground. The palace was perfectly symmetrical, down to the number of arrow loops on the turrets. Even though the palace had assumedly been underground for centuries, potentially hundreds of years, it seemed in good condition. Things were caked in muck and dirt, but nothing seemed to have eroded or decayed over the years.
As the swordsman, inventor, and cook approached the palace, they noticed how much detail had been put into it. The arches had been etched with motifs of stories long since passed. Images of men on horseback mowing down men with large spears and knights slaying unknown beasts. Giant hardwood doors sealed the entrance to the palace, a seal that hadn’t been broken since the palace had been hidden away. These great doors had a giant owl with its wings spread as if on the hunt carved into them. Its claws held a solid beam that kept the door tightly shut.
Zoro approached the door to slice the beam in half when Ussopp touched his chest. “Would you please have some tact? We don’t know if it’s booby-trapped or not!”
”Alright, smart guy, what do you suggest we do then?” Zoro sighed, setting his blade back into its sheath.
”Give me a second, would you?”
Ussopp approached the doors and began to inspect. Before standing back up, he left nothing to the imagination, from the claws to the beam to the doorframe. He reached up to the left wing and slid a feather to the right. A loud grinding noise came from something behind the door before the feather clicked. The inventor continued to straighten out feathers until the doors were mirror images of each other. Once the final feather had been adjusted, the doors shuddered, slowly beginning to creak open and out towards them. Ussopp scuttled away from the doors so as not to be smushed and joined up with the other two. The three men were hit with a strong wind, heavily coated in dust that choked their lungs and clung to their clothes as these mighty doors parted.

"You're staring again," Grado chuckled as he sat at one of the tables with his younger sister Alyssa, playfully waggling his eyebrows at her. Alyssa felt a blush come to her cheeks as she ducked her head, pushing a bit of food around her plate with her plastic spork. She knew he wasn't lying. For the second time in their pre-show conversation, Alyssa's attention had been pulled to the couple across the room.
Well, the male member of the couple across the room.
Who could blame Alyssa when the man was as handsome as Joe Hendry? If you asked Alyssa, she'd tell you that his looks weren't what she had first fallen in love with. It wasn't his perfectly styled brown hair or the mischievous light that shone in his gentle brown eyes. It wasn't his toned body with just enough baby fat to look less intimidating. No, Alyssa had fallen in love with the way Joe seemed to never be bothered by those around him. Alyssa had fallen in love with Joe's sense of humor, his command of both room and ring with nothing but effortless charisma.
The only problem was the company he chose to keep.
The Prestigious One had aligned himself with current Defiant general manager Wade Barrett and his muse Isadora Ainsley. Even before Mr. Barrett had become the general manager, Isadora Ainsley had been a thorn in Alyssa's side. The woman who called herself The Black Rose had decided Alyssa was an easy target long before, stated with the black rose Alyssa had found on her desk in the Anti-Fun Police Headquarters. The roses had always signified who was next in Isadora's line of sight. Alyss had always assumed that Isadora would come for her in the ring.
Instead it seemed as if Isadora had decided to start with Alyssa's heart.
"Stop, Graeme," Alyssa muttered as she looked up, "you know he-"
"I know Joseph better'n you do, Lys. Hell, I know Joe better'n Joe knows Joe," Grado scoffed around a mouthful of crisps, "This? This is a phase. For both Is and Joe."
"Yeah, well, she-" Alyssa shook her head, unable to continue her statement, "I don't think it's a phase. He looks happy."
Grado turned to look over his shoulder, observing Isadora and Joe. The red headed woman ran a hand through Joe's brown hair, while Joe seemed to look upset about something. In fact, they both looked rather uncomfortable. Joe pushed himself away from the table and stormed out of the room. Grado turned back around with a raised eyebrow, "You sure about that? Cause that don't seem happy."
Alyssa chewed on her lower pink painted lip for a moment, but when Grado didn't stop looking at her so expectantly, she let out a deep sigh and grabbed her officers cap off of the table. Putting it on top of her golden bun, Alyssa slipped out into the hallway after Joe. She found him in a back hall, pacing back and forth. "Well. Ya don't look like you're having fun," she teased as she leaned against the wall.
Joe stopped his pacing, a soft smile crossing his lips as he held his hands up in a placating manner, "Woah, woah, officer! Nothin' to take me in over!"
"Nah, nah," she waved him off with a chuckle, "no worries about that. I saw ya in catering. You...uh...you're not having fun at all."
Joe let out a slow breath, leaning against the wall next to her, "She wanted me to deliver a black rose to...well it don't matter, does it? She wanted me to deliver a black rose to someone who don't deserve it."
"Why do you work for her, Joey? Why do you..." Alyssa let out a soft sigh, "you can do better than her. You 𝒂𝒓𝒆 better than her!"
Joe looked as if he wanted to say something, but he shook his head and decided against it, "I love her. I do. I get roped into her and Barrett being...well...themselves. I have so much to prove to the world. They help me do that."
Alyssa couldn't argue that face. With the help of Wade Barrett as the face behind Defiant, Joe had started this road to being prestigious. "You could do that on your own. They ain't the Prestigious Ones, are they? That's all you."
"They give me the platform," Joe corrected, pushing off the wall to fully face Alyssa, "without them to believe in me...I..."
"Don't ya dare say what I think you're about to say, Joseph Hendry," Alyssa protested, standing firm, "don't you dare. You've been friends with Grads, with me, for long enough to know the truth. 𝑰 believe in you! More than anything! 𝑰 l-"
"Joe?" came the seductive croon from down the hall. Alyssa cursed the other woman's appearance under her breath, though she was thankful Isadora didn't come any closer.
Joe sighed deeply, running a hand over the back of his neck, "I...I have to go, Lys..."
"Consider what I said, Joey," she pleaded, moving a gentle hand to his arm.
Joe took her free hand, giving it a tight squeeze before leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek. "I will, Lys. I will."
Alyssa felt her skin redden, the warmth from the butterflies in her stomach spreading throughout her entire soul as she watched him walk away. Had he heard what she was going to say? Did he realize exactly how she felt about him? She pressed one hand to where Joe had kissed her, the other pressed to her rapidly beating heart. It didn't matter if Joe did know, not really.
She would always believe in her friend.

Bloody Pulp
Anyways, here's something I wrote in like an hour because I wanted Cyrus to suffer a bit. TW for harsh language, verbal abuse, and violence. Hope y'all enjoy his suffering as much as I do!
~
Pain immediately exploded through the side of Cyrus’s face as Barrett’s fist connected to his cheek. He brought his hand up to shield it, but another punch followed just a few seconds after the first. He stumbled back into the coffee table and fell onto it, the glass shattering beneath him.
“How many times have I told you to cut the fucking attitude!” he yelled into his face as he straddled him. “How many times have you disrespected me and my family!”
His heart raced. Blood dripped down from his nose and he could taste copper in his mouth. “Ho-how is calling out your bullshit disrespect?”
He wrapped his hands around his throat. “I am the man of his house! I own this farm! Everything I say goes even if you don’t like it!”
Pressure was applied against his windpipe. He grabbed his wrists and tried to pull them away but no matter the force he used Barrett just seemed to be stronger. “Ge-get off me!” he wheezed.
“You have been a thorn in my side ever since Viviana brought you here!” He pressed his thumbs into his throat. “You’ve done nothing to return the favor! I let you stay here for free and you do jack shit!”
Air filled his head. The world around him spun. Everything around him blurred slightly. He pushed his hand against his face in an attempt to get him off.
“You are a burden and you will always be a burden!” He removed his hands but gripped the collar of his shirt and pulled him up.
He gasped and filled his lungs with as much air as he could handle.
“I don’t know what the fuck she or anyone else sees in you!” He slammed him against the wood.
Dots popped up in his vision as the back of his head collided with the hard surface.
“Worthless! You’re fucking worthless!” he screamed, bringing him back up and slamming him down once more. “Everything I’ve done for you and still it isn’t good enough!”
He blinked, his vision doubled.
“You’re a disgrace!” He slammed him down again. “Nothing you do will make up for the fact you’re you! Cyrus Richards is a no good, worthless, drug addicted piece of shit!”
He was pulled up and thrown to the ground. He gasped as he hit the wood and rolled onto his side to recover.
A kick landed in his stomach. “St-sop.” He held his hand out to shield himself.
Barrett grabbed his hand and wrenched his fingers back, the bones snapping.
A loud cry came from his throat and he pulled his arm back and cradled his hand.
Another kick landed against his chest, forcing all the air from his lungs. He inhaled sharply. Tears streamed down his face and mingled with the blood.
“You smoke and drink all fucking day while we work our asses off!” He dragged him back up and pushed him against the wall. “What’s your excuse!”
“I-I’ve done more for you than anyone else here you no good piece of-,” he was cut off by another punch to the face.
“That doesn’t make up for your laziness and shitty attitude!” He threw him back down to the ground and punched him over and over again. “Useless! You’re fucking useless!”
“Barrett,” Aimo said from behind him. “This will solve nothing. Leave him alone.”
He looked down at him and frowned. His brows furrowed. He stood up. “Leave him there to figure himself out.” He pushed past Aimo and left to the kitchen.
He looked at him. His face betrayed no emotion. “Are you okay?”
He forced himself to sit up and braced his weight against his good arm. “Do-do I look okay?” He glared at him. “Fuck you.”
“Do you want me to get Asher or Ivan?”
He shook his head. “No, no. I’ll take care of myself, man.” He stood up, his legs shaky. “Thanks for getting him off me. Wish you did it sooner.”
“You’re very hurt.”
“No shit, Sherlock.” He sighed. “Just-just fuck off and leave me alone.”
He nodded and left towards the kitchen.
With a sigh, he limped from the living room to the front porch. He steadied himself against the beam holding the porch’s roof and dragged himself down the stairs. All the way back to the unused barn he trekked. Pain screamed in his body and demanded attention.
At the barn he climbed into the loft and dragged himself over to where he slept. He fell onto the little cot he had set up for himself and draped his bad hand on his chest.
“I’m fucking pathetic,” he muttered, “what the fuck am I even doing here.”
For a few minutes he stared at the ceiling.
He sat up and searched through the small duffel bag he had stored all his belongings in. He grabbed a roll of duct tape and tore off a strip.
“Fuck,” he inhaled deeply, “alright, shit.” He grabbed his pointer finger and pulled it out, stifling a scream. Tears streamed down his face as he went onto the second one. He breathed hard. “Two more. Come on you pussy.” He pulled them both out at the same time.
He panted, beads of sweat dripping down his face.
With the strip of tape, he wrapped his fingers together.
“Fu-fuck.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I deserve this.”

Hey do you have any poetry you can suggest because I saw your response to that OP, I’d love some stuff to read!
so i started responding to another similar ask by @unitedstates0fdakota but i accidentally posted it when it was incomplete so i decided to continue here! check out that post for the first two recs, george abraham's birthright and romeo oriogun's sacrament of bodies
more than organs, kay ulanday barrett
kay ulanday barrett is a poet, performer, and educator, navigating life as a disabled filipinx-amerikan transgnder queer in the u.s. with struggle, resistance, and laughter. pamela sneed, one of the reviewers quoted on the back of more than organs, describes the collection as about “hunger that is physical, spiritual, and queer”, and i think hunger is an excellent way to put it. i love how the pieces in this collection oscillate between visceral and playful – there’s a poem called “pain, an epistle” but also one called “actually, jenny schecter wasn’t the worst”.
you googled “authentic” / & now are seated next to me. / as I speed walk you to the cart / aunty gives me the last dish / gets the idea that I’ve waited too long / for something to just taste right. / I wish for a dumpling stuff / of bullet skins to be the shrapnel / in every white man’s throat. / go ahead / say the word oriental / at my table / one more time. —  “I just want dimsum undisturbed by wypipo”
a theory of birds, zaina alsous
zaina alsous is a prison abolitionist, a daughter of the palestinian diaspora, and a movement worker in south florida. the blurb for a theory of birds describes it as “putting ecological conservation in conversation with arab racial formation, state vernacular with the chatter of birds”, and as someone who wanted to be an ornithologist as a child and now works in climate policy, it feels like she wrote this to speak to my soul.
Inside the dodo bird is a forest, Inside the forest a peach analog, Inside the peach analog a woman, Inside the woman a lake of funerals, disappointed male lovers, scientists, Inside the lake a volcano of whale songs, Inside the volcano a language of naming, Inside the language an algorithm for de-extinction, Inside the algorithm blued dynamite to dissolve the colony’s Sun, twinkle twinkle, I didn’t mean to fall in love with failure, its molting rapture, I didn’t mean to name myself from a necklace of silent vowels, I didn’t go looking from for the bird, I entered through the empty cage, hips first —  “Bird Prelude”
boy with thorn, rickey laurentiis
rickey laurentiis is a poet who was raised in new orleans, louisiana, to study light. this is true for a lot of poetry imo, but every piece in boy with thorn requires reading at least twice in a row, because laurentiis’s use of language is so deft and stuffed with meaning that i needed to experience it from different angles. the description for the collection tells us “in a landscape at once the brutal american south as it is the brutal mind, boy with thorn interrogates the genesis of all poetic creation—the imagination itself, questioning what role it plays in both our fascinations with and repulsion from a national history of racial and sexual violence”.
Therefore, my head was kingless. I was a head alone, moaning in a wet black field. I was like any of those deserter slaves whose graves are just the pikes raised for their heads, reshackled, blue and plain as fear. All night I whistled at a sky that mocked me, that fluently changed its grammar as if to match desire in my eye. My freedom is possible, it said. —  “Conditions for a Southern Gothic”
eye level, jenny xie
this is kind of cheating because i first read eye level when it came out in 2017, but i recently reread it so i feel like it counts! jenny xie was born in anhui province, china, and now lives in the united states. eye level travels with xie from phnom penh to corfu to hanoi to new york city, and her descriptions piercing, sensual, and bottomless.
Sunday, awake with this headache. I pull apart the evening with a fork. White clot behind the eyes. Someone once told me, before and after is just another false binary. The warmed-over bones of January. I had no passport. Beneath the stove, two mice made a paradise out of a button of peanut butter. Suffering operates by its own logic. Its gropics and reversals. Ample, in ways that are exquisite. And how it leaves —not unlike how it arrives, without clear notice. —  “Zuihitsu”
i also post about english-language palestinian poetry (both written in english and in translation) in my #palestinian poets series, each of which features poems you can find online!

Tumblr media
At the arrival, they have found a city apparently abandoned by its inhabitants. They get confusing signals on their scanners and the readings of a power source on a building in front of them. While his teammates explore the inside of the building, Sulu finds a mobile plant and gets hurt mortally by one of its thorns. Kirk, McCoy and Spock came to his rescue once they listen to his scream for help.
Tumblr media
The doctor applies one of his antidotes, but it is useless aganist the plant's poison. Then, a group of plant-like beings suddenly appeared. Their leader, Agmar offers a cure for Sulu but McCoy refusses the help. Kirk accepts the help from the natives and just when they apply their antidote, Sulu recovers very fast.
Tumblr media
Agmar, the Phylosian told to the crew that they had an earlier contact with humans. One that brought the an infectious bactery that killed a generation of their own, but he also helped them to survive. As they are entering thru a cave, a flock of dragon-like flying plant-lifeforms attack the Enterprise's crew and kidnap Spock.
Tumblr media
The Phylosians got a system that makes phasers not working, then a giant human appeared and the natives made a bow to him. He identifies as Doctor Stavos Keniclus 5, the man who saved the natives from extintion. He told the team that he needs Spock for his plans and also told them to leave the planet.
Kirk orders to beam up the rest of the crew.
On the bridge, Kirk orders Lt. Uhura to investigate any data about Keniclus 5. Meanwhile, the doctor tries to find a way to defend themselves against the plant-lifeforms by using a recepie for a pesticide from his gran-grandfather's farm.
Uhura found a record of a scientist Keniciclus who left the Earth after loosing the Eugenic Wars. Kirk is surprised and trying to guess how he survived after more than 200 years.
Tumblr media
Kirk, McCoy and Sulu return to the planet's surface but much prepeared to rescue Spock. The natives brought them to a underground compound where Spock is located.
Tumblr media
Inside the cave compound, they encounter again with Keniciclus 5. He reveals himself as the fifth generation clone of the original Dr. Keniciclus. His plan is to imposing peace by strenght to the galaxy by invading every single planet they could. For that reason, he produced a Mr. Spock's clone, Spock 2.
Tumblr media
As soon as they learned Keniciclus 5's plans for galactic conquest, a new wave of the dragon-like flying plant-lifeforms made an attack. This time, the team is ready to counter using McCoy's pesticide formula as a weapon.
Tumblr media
After a successfully defeat of the flying creatures, Kirk triex to reason with Keniciclus 5 that he is unaware of the present time. That there is no need to continue wars from the past because the Federation had brought peace thru the galaxy. Then Kirk had a conversation with Spock 2 about the illogical action of imposing peace thru strenght. Some that goes against the Vulcan philosophy of infinite diversity in infinite combinations. Something that simbolize the elements of truth and beauty.
Spock 2 asserts Kirk's words and changes his mind. Meanwhile, the original Spock is dying in a chamber because of a memory drain performed by the mad scientist, Keniciclus 5. Spock 2 performs a Vulcan mind meld to help his original self to recover.
At the end, Keniciclus 5 was feeling useless after his plans failed miserably, Kirk and the original Spock convince him to use all of his knowledge and strength to help on the restoring of the Phylosian civilization with the help of Spock 2. All of them agree on that.

Fascinating Facts:
This episode was written by Walter Koenig. Due to budget restrictions, Koenig was not cast for playing the role of Lieutenant Chekov in The Animated series, but he made his collaboration by writing this episode.
Tumblr media
The Koenig's main source for inspiration for writing the story was the fact that cloning was a very discussed subject in that time.
The mobile plant-lifeform who attackes Sulu has the name of Retlaw. It is Walter spelled backwards. The idea came from a story of a comic book series where the aliens spoke bakwards.
The first reference to the Vulcan philosophy of Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations (or IDIC) was made in the third season episode of The Original Series titled “Is There In Truth No Beauty?” At first, Leonard Nimoy refused the idea for a symbol because he thought Gene Roddenberry's idea for merchandising its pin.

Defying Certain Death Part 1
Copied from my DeviantArt account, a non-sexual G/T vore story featuring adults along the lines of the lion and the thorn fable. There will be tons of hurt/comfort aspects, lots of safe vore. That is the primary focus in this.
Barrett is and adult giant standing 85ft tall and Hope is an adult human at 5ft 6. Barrett does not eat children at any point.
Warnings: Fatal Mention; Characters in Distress
Future: While this part is relatively tame, future parts include fatal vore and violence. Barrett, the giant, is not a good guy, so will be doing some occasional bad things.

The giant watched the woman back up as he stood to his full height, looking down at her. He could see the fear in her eyes, smell her fear scent as she watched his movements. He was very familiar with the smell of fear; humans and terrans alike feared his kind. They had good reason to fear Syors. The woman no doubt realized that she could not possibly outrun him, that she was already close enough that he wouldn’t have to even try to chase. She couldn’t possibly get out of his reach before he could grab her.
He leaned over, watching the woman look quickly for some form of hiding place, although there was none. She barely had time to turn away and start to move before his hand closed around her and he lifted her up. She didn’t squirm much or try to get loose, simply closing her eyes.
“Please… I don’t want to die…”
-----3 weeks ago-----
He didn’t know how long he’d lain here now, but he’d given up hope. The rockslide had trapped him, and he had reached the point he lacked hope. Even with such great strength, he lacked a way to move the stones. He had no doubt that if he were able to get at least a little loose, he could move individual rocks with ease… but with the large pile on top of him, he couldn’t even move enough to reach stones to free one arm.
He was going to die here. He didn’t want to, but it seemed inevitable. By now he hardly even bothered to look around anymore. He was sore and injured, and lacked a food source. The injuries didn’t kill him, so he was going to starve. He had gotten lucky for water, there had been light rain a couple of times, barely enough to keep him hydrated, but it had helped. He just couldn’t get free and he couldn’t get food.
As he thought on the matter, ears perked slightly at the sound of movement. Another of the wild sheep? Perhaps if he was still and quiet, it would come within reach. Then he heard cursing. He hesitantly peeked, trying not to open his eyes enough to be noticed. The first thing he noticed was the red color of the young woman’s dress, how its bright shade stood out against the dull colors of the rock and dirt. A terran. Or perhaps a human, but either way, it was one of the little folk that giants like himself greatly enjoyed as prey. He watched the girl make her way lower, nearer to him, and fought back a smile. She was close… perhaps he might yet get a meal.
He watched her come nearer, then kneel to gather some sort of plants. She had managed to come down the steep rocks… but she would almost certainly have to walk the lower path to get out. The lower path that lay right before his hand.
He stretched his hand out as best he could, tilting it so it was angled like a wall blocking her path. He grinned slowly as the movement got her attention and her eyes went wide. The dirt from the rockslide had caused him to blend in, and she hadn’t even noticed him. His grin revealed the double set of fangs that served as the most obvious difference between his kind and the more gentle Syorians.
He moved to grab her, but was immediately reminded of just how bad the rockslide had pinned him. He couldn’t move his hand enough to grasp her, to pull her into his mouth. Both the brief feeling of hope and his cheerful expression faded immediately. He really was going to starve here. Prey came within reach and he couldn’t even move enough to get it into his mouth. Slowly he lowered his hand, letting it lay limp as he sighed and closed his eyes.
After a moment, he felt a small hand rest on one of his pinned hands. He opened his eyes, surprised to see the girl had come near enough to touch him. Perhaps taunting him because he couldn’t do anything to her? He felt miserable, and just wanted it to be over with.
“You are in pretty bad shape, aren’t you? Can’t even move… I suppose you would be displeased to rely on help from one like myself… but…” The woman sighed slightly, looking away briefly, “I will help you.” The Syor was immediately surprised, hesitating briefly before asking, “You… are going to… Do you not realize what I am?” She returned her gaze to him, then nodded slightly, “Yes… a Syor… and I do know the difference between Syor and Syorians… but it would be wrong to abandon a person, no matter their species, that is in need.” After a moment she patted lightly with her hand that rest on his finger, “I am going to go get you a bit of food and some rope. I’ll be back soon.” He watched her leave, feeling certain he would never lay eyes on her again.
