Sorry in advance if this becomes too long-winded a question. I play a format with friends called Battlebox, which is essentially a curated environment like cube but without the drafting. My vision is to have it showcase the history of magic while still being fun and novel to play. The problem lately is that new cards are so interesting and dynamic that they tend to overshadow or phase out old cards quickly. Any advice for maintaining the balance?

There are plenty of powerful older cards.

Imperial Fist heavy support squad. Im using the rest of my astartes leftovers to create some Mechanicum Allies - martian civil war style.

I plan to make some templars (yes more of them…) some tac squads, and some more support squads (as if the IF force has access to a mechanicum armoury…).

The aim here is to dilute the expense on mechanicum units as they are so expensive… money-wise.

I will likely pick up one more battlebox and call it a day. That would then be 40thralls, 12 thalax, 4 castalax, and two weird trireme-style tanks. (And two armagers for luck).

hmm well ive noticed in battlebox (aka minecraft pvp) im pretty good at bows/sniping. everything else well… Gulp… but i like bows as a weapon as im good at it and ik how to use them in real life

They're are not going to convert people at the battlebox or within their own party. Their own congregation members probably aren't even as pure as they are demanding the party to be. Does that stop them? No.

I just played my first ever round of battlebox on MCCi and I got teamed with Impulse and Skizzleman!!!!

On the far left you can see the face of someone taking an excited screenshot and then going 'wait I've never played this gamemode before I'm gonna SUCK'

(we won 2/3 rounds and I even survived to the end once!)
