aapi heritage month headcanons pt. 3 !!!
just in time for s3 of dndads, let’s get into it! this one will probs be a lot but so much has happened in the past year 😭
- taylor LOVES chinese new year, he looks forward to it every year as the favorite (only) child and he eats all the dumplings he could ever eat and gets tons of red envelopes
- cassandra and morgan become best friends/mother-daughter relationship vibes post-doodler, like they are the most badass and cool women in the world and i do think taylor grows to love morgan so much and even though his relationships with nick/glenn are strained, at least he has the best mom and grandma
- as a voice actor for anime/cartoons i think cassandra really did fall in love w the art of anime and i’d love for her to guest at a con (make her the j michael tatum of her world PLEASE) and taylor gets a free ticket to weeb out as much as he wants <3
- in my heart glenn is trying his best, like he really wants that closeness (haha) and i think now post-doodler it's like literally what started as a father/son duo of him and nick now is genuinely a huge (kinda fucked up) family that is trying to mend itself and i do think it starts with chinese takeout !!!
- sidenote i think the close/foster/swifts etc are a great example of how freddie has subverted asian stereotypes fr and also how a family stuck in an absent/neglectful cycle has the ability to come together again
- the mending includes hermie too, hermie definitely deserves something more in his life and the chance get to be a kid w a home in the form of a big family w his bio dads (his normal parents are invited too) (and i also love the idea of normal being like 'grandpa henry! this is the guy!' and hermie being an honorary oak would be so cute 😭)
- hermie went and saw joy ride (2023) bc it was marketed as a comedy and came out bawling his eyes out from that one scene y’all adoptees know what im talking about
- tbh thinking about taylor's closeness w his mom and francis's w kimon wan literally asian moms are holding this show together
- the farnsworth’s are thai and german and they came to peachyville at a young age to give their newborn son a better life very starting nuclear family vibes, ed definitely learned thai for her, and now their son is a bowling champ!
- francis farnsworth and taylor swift are lowkey the spectrum of asian upbringing where it's like midwest asians vs socal asians 😳🤭 they live in different worlds
- kimon wan is an immigrant mom just trying to raise her family and her damn son wont stop being a loser 🤦‍♀️ literally milf w a shotgun (ed is a lucky man FR) (sorry anthony burch)
- when francis is having a really tough day then kimon wan will leave a plate of cut up fruit at his door so he knows he's still supported
- luo's golden wok is the first and only chinese restaurant in peachyville and they have to have the best pepper steak ever im calling it now
- tony collette would love and hate both jodie and glenn i think for different reasons but instead of calling them formosans he’d call them orientals 💀
- also tony collette is 0.0001% asian (chinese) and tyrus luo either DEFINITELY knows which is why he puts up w all the bullshit tony does or tony is determined to make sure that tyrus NEVER finds out ever
- they have a 'throwback' silent movie night at the drive-in and they show a meryl streep film and literally everyone falls in love w him 🥰
- billion millions was a crazy rich asian and he was an icon
- once again they mean the world to me! might end up posting more at some point who knows lol

also. i was thinking abt ur analysis on soysauce duo’s relationship, and how macaroni and mk’s relationship has that more direct progression in terms of caring about each other/mentorship, and also that it gives me a very nice opening to talk about my favorite line in s4: “Nice tail, kid,” from macaque in 4x09.
just. like. that’s the first nice thing anybody’s said about this terrifying new monkey form, and it’s so important that macaque says it. in a past season, that would’ve been a taunt, but here it’s about as close to sincere as macaque ever gets, and how it shows that the character development from s3 has stuck, that he isn’t just here to be a dick. yaknow??? <- frantically gesturing at a red string board with the clown wig firmly fitted on
*nods at board and takes her own red strings from her pocket* yeah, yeah exactly
they're relationship is literally "hey kiddo" (derogatory) to "hey kiddo" (affectionate). every insult that Macky threw at MK in the past (which was really just a backhanded compliment), now hold sincerity and geniune compliments to it. and you know what? THEY'RE DYNAMIC ALSO FLIPPED!!!
like, if you think about it, both MK & SWK's dynamic and MK & Macky's dynamic have flipped. it's Macky now who's trying to reach out and be friendly with MK still distrustful and throwing barbs (which Makcy takes in stride bc....fair is fair tbh) and yeah 100% agree that Macadoo's comment on MK's monkey form being the 1st positive one is a big deal and super important.
the previous ones coming from:
Ink!MK, who used that form to highlight how dangerous MK is to his friends and the world and will be the catalyst to its end;
Sun Wukong, who ignored the issue and was trying to placate MK. which, to be fair, was needed because Mk was not in the right mind, but SWK's mitigation (i think is a better word bc Wukong did acknowledge but was trying not to make a big deal out of it) ended up aggravating MK further because, once again, he feels like his pain and issues are being deflected.
and MK's friends, Pigsy, Sandy, Tang, and Mei, who were also overwhelmed by the events but weren't even sure how to react to MK's new burst of power.
and then you have Macaroni, who, if we remember, was unaware of the events that just transpired (at least, i think he was unaware bc he made a joke about Wukong being a lazy ass, which would be a low blow if Macartney was aware of everything in 4x08). all Macackle gets is MK pleading at him to stop with the taunting and THEN JUST GIVES UP ON WHAT HE WAS SAYING BECAUSE HE'S EXHAUSTED AND FEELS USED AND BROKEN AND CONFUSED AND MAYBE IF MAC DOES TAUNT HIM AT LEAST ONE THING OF HIS LIFE IS TYPICAL AND-*gets taken off the stage*
*comes back but now covered in scratches and blood* sorry, uh, what was i saying?
ah yes,
the fact that it is Macandy who comments on it (he is shown to be shocked about it and knows that something is up) and just a simple "uh, you have a tail now," it's "nice tail by the way."
no questions about how it happened, no concern over what transpired. just an acknowledgment of it and a positive one which is the complete opposite of what MK's been shown because it is the part of him that is supposed to be bad and chaotic and the Harbinger. it can't bring good or be something hopeful....can it?
also, ISN'T INTERESTING HOW MACAQUE'S COMMENT ON THE TAIL IS POSITIVE AND NOT WHAT SHOULD BE ASSUMED OF MONKEY!MK'S PURPOSE JUST LIKE HOW MK'S PERSISTENCE FOR MACKY'S HELP FURTHER LED TO MACKY REALIZING THAT FATE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT AND SCREW THE THREADS DESTINY AND THE WORLD GIVES YOU AND-*gets dog-piled*

Ok so I watched leverage (because of you) (also hi I am the anon who sent you all the panic messages about the finale) and now I am rewatching and in no particular order dumping leverage thoughts on you
Oh my god in The Order 23 job I didn't even realize Eliot was pretending to ignore Hardison telling him what star trek movies he would reference, and then showed he was actually listening and paying attention
One of my favorite scenes has to be in The Studio Job when Parker is dancing through stealing everything hunting for tickets Hardison asked for. I just love seeing them be hyper-competent
Canine Eliot comparison's save me
I forgot how much I loved the entire end of s3. And by the end I mean the entire season.
omg?? im so glad my silly leverageposting managed to help get other people interested in this show!! and im glad you enjoyed it, i think its permanently changed my brain chemistry lmao. re each dot point:
i can’t decide if it’s funnier if eliot was lying about not having a tv/not having seen any star trek, or if hardison just talks about it so much that eliot has learnt star trek series titles via osmosis lol. i haven’t seen star trek but im sure someone who has would have good hcs about what might lead eliot to have watched it, and what parts he would like. i think he probably does at least own a tv bc some of his whole I’m A Tough Guy act is definitely put on.
yessss i love that scene!! parker being extremely impressive my beloved <3. any of the team showing off their skills, tbh. on the episode commentary, people often refer to it as "competence porn" lol, just watching the characters being ridiculously awesome at what they do. don’t even need dialogue or cuts to what the others are doing or stuff happening in the background, it’s great just watching parker stealing or eliot fighting someone (especially eliot & quinn) for a while.
also werewolf!eliot hcs and fic by @werewolfsmile is so great with this.
the middle seasons (2, 3, 4) are probs my favourite era… nate’s apartment era. season 1 is its own narrative and i love that, it’s probably my favourite individual season, and season 5 plays around with format & concepts which is cool, plus it’s getting ready for the end. but the *era* of s2-4? the development of the characters between s2-4?? incredible!! on rewatch, s3 is so interesting for eliot even in the early episodes, cause with the context of his past with moreau…. there’s an impending meeting with moreau and it’s inevitable and eliot knows that. and having that context on rewatch really makes you notice his expressions and think about what he’s emotionally/cognitively going through.
thank you very much for the thought dumping, i always love getting to think & talk about this show!!
P.S. i remember i once used that same picture that you’ve got as your pfp for like an email account or something in high school!! labracadabrador, always makes me laugh lol

I finished Harlots, and I want more!!! I haven't watched a show this fast in a long time, I was just very immersed - and I've now added a few books to my list!!! - the setting and the life of these people were so interesting, and I really liked the different classes!!!
I really LOVED a few characters here, Violet and Betsey were great and I liked them working outside of a house, but with the support of Nancy still, I really Amelia Scanwell, and I think they did an incredible job with her mother in s2!!! And then still character, but also shipping house, Will and Margaret got me immediately - I LOVE strong marriages/relationships at the center of a show, and I love blended families and the love Will has for Charlotte and Lucy was beautiful to see (also little Jacob is a star character in this show, I love him so much, he's such a good kid!!!!) - and then Nancy and Margaret, this love and trust and history with each other, how they are also partners, and this understanding of each other... and in this triangle you also have a really good Will and Nancy dynamic, this care and friendship that is beautiful to see!!!
Still with characters, I really like how season 2 and 3 brought you a different side of the justice, and you have these people who want to fulfil the law, but also learning that the law is not everything. Now I don't particularly like that s3 left so many characters behind, and having no idea where they went - you had lost Betsey before but you do learn what happens, not here - so it feels like a completely new show, which I wasn't ready for...
Continuing with season 3 thoughts, it was a bit of a let down after the first two... it wasn't the same, it still did interesting things... but the biggest thing is I feel that the ending wasn't satisfying (it's not a bad ending, but it does not leave you satisfied) - and this starts with Margaret Wells leaving!!! I don't mind the introduction of Jonas - I like him - but the leaving with nothing to come after, feels empty, I'm here waiting (and even more than at the end of s2 - that felt like a more satisfying goodbye)... and then it also feels the pairing up of Will and Nancy (with their own respectively women) feels like a bad choice, the pairings work and make sense, but I feel they implied too hard to make the audience forget Margaret was sent away in an unsatisfying matter!!!
I'll now come back to better things, season 1 and 2 were really good with more of a focused in the two factions, but also with always the side reality of the courtesan with the Wells sisters!!! The show also does a really good job mixing up the dynamics and pairings with the characters and keeping important relationships but bringing new ones as well - Will and Harriet was one I really liked, bc there's this understanding between them of being black but also raising biracial kids in that world, and then Nancy with all the girls!!!
Still on characters, Emily Lacey has such a good arc, she was never a favorite, but she was someone you wanted to see and follow, always planning and preparing!!! I also like, that just like with the justice becoming better, they also give us some culls that we don't mind seeing - my favorite is Fanny's favorite, and the line of coming to her because she reminds him of how his wife was hit well!!!
Really this is a good show, with good characters and setting, that got me crying for at least two episodes - I was especially a mess during 2x07!!! And I've now read all the Will and Margaret fic on ao3, but I'm following to check the Margaret and Nancy ones!!! Definitely recommending this show!!!

I feel like a big part of the reason Anti Bylers are so aggressive is because this is the first time in mainstream media where there's a chance that the main couple of the show may end up being mlm.
Not only is there a likelihood that the main couple will be gay, it will come after years of these fans assuming that the cliche, safe straight ship was going to sail from start to finish.
If you look at the "predictions" these individuals have for season 5, which honestly have less to do with narrative direction and more to do with what they want, you'll always catch a certain undertone to what they're saying:
"The heterosexual, white male audience is the default for media. We will allow the wlw ship, so long as it has limited screen time. We will accept Will surviving, and even allow him to have an acceptance arc. But you will not receive queer rep at the expense of a ship that we are nostalgic for. The straight male audience is the one that matters, and we will be represented by the main couple in the show."
My favorite is when they’re asked what they hope for Mike and El in s5, only to list off qualities of Mike and Will’s dynamic. I legit saw someone say that they hoped they finally took the time to talk through their problems (oh so you’re admitting they never do..) and that we’ll actually get to see them be a team…
Like, do you hear yourselves?
I would actually like to read off their play by play of how they imagine s5 going down. Not just their wishes but like what they literally imagine happening over the course of the season, episode by episode.
And I’m talking the confident milkvans ones that are like super hostile about it. I wanna see what they hypothesize will happen in early s5 related to Mike and El… I don’t think I could keep it together if it is anything along the lines of them instantly making up and being happy for the rest of the season… 😳🤣
They just don’t realize how dumb that sounds.
S4 created conflict and hasn’t settled it. It was considered the beginning of the end, meaning those parts are going to fit perfectly together. If Mike and El were lacking romantically more than ever before in s4, don’t expect that to change much…
And gentle reminder that rewatch value is everything. If milkvans have to skip 3 eps in s1 bc they’re not together or fighting, skip all of s2 bc they’re separated, skip most of s3 bc they broke up in the second episode, skip most of s4 bc they separated in the third episode…. What does that fucking tell you?? They are not being prioritized for rewatch value, that’s what. Whereas byler is. (Bylers also are capable of watching milkvan scenes religiously… I can’t say the same about milkvans being capable of handling more than one second of rewatching a byler scene. And it’s bc they know if they watch it the mental gymnastics they gotta go through to convince themselves nothing romantic is going on is near impossible…)
Byler endgame is going to make the rewatch for the entire series hit, while milkvans, even with a hypothetical endgame would probably watch s1 and s5 and say the rest doesn’t matter. Do they think that’s how the show is supposed to be watched?
With one season left, they should have been hoping that monologue wasn’t in s4, but instead s5. Bc now how can those two one up that? They simply can’t. It was put there to show that they’ll never progress beyond this point. Nothing will ever top it. This is as good as it gets and yet, they still lost. What should that tell you?
What are they gonna just repeat that monologue in s5, but have mike say it 20x and THIS TIME it works?? Yay? Like there’s literally nothing satisfying about that in the least.
Can’t say I wish bad for ppl that simply like Mike and El and are bummed that they’re starting to lose hope. That as a basic idea is like whatever. I don’t like seeing ppl sad. Even if I told off a milkvan directly, seeing them like feeling depressed afterwards, does make me feel bad.
But when it comes to the hostile ones, people literally resorting to harassing directly with complete strangers unprompted and threatening to dox, over people merely theorizing? Like?? Was it ever that serious?
If we’re so delusional and we’re just setting ourselves up for disappointment, why not wait to say I told you so when it’s all said and done, if you’re so sure? Why dedicate so much of your time trying to discourage people on the other side? Unless it somehow qualms doubts you have?…
What makes this whole situation such bullshit, is that if this were a queerbait situation, you still shouldn’t be out here being hurtful like literally spouting off how you can’t wait for people to experience getting queerbaited? Like it’s fucking weird? The prominence of queerbaiting is literally referring to show runners taking advantage of fans, making them think it’ll happen, even encouraging it, and then ripping it away, usually ending in a bury your gays situation. That is the norm in the industry and it’s only now within the last few years starting to change in mainstream.
The hypocrisy of it all, is that they think we should just accept what they believe is the only possibility, queer-bait. But you know if the roles were reversed, which they inevitably will be when s5 drops, they’re going to be playing the victim, saying nonsense like if queerbaiting is bad then so is straightbating!! and it’s just going to be so out of touch and pathetic.
It’s not the same. Whatsoever. And the fact that they can’t see that, that one result is lazy writing and one is epic subversion, and are literally making a mockery out of the situation, convinced they’re right bc they have history on their side and gays should just be used to never getting their way and THATS okay to them?
Like it’s almost painful to watch. Especially knowing the 180 they’re gonna pull when they end up in the situation they convinced themselves we were gonna be in.

i finished my rewatch (well, rewatch of s1-s5 + first watch of s6 bc i hadn't seen it before) of lucifer last night so some thoughts
spoilers under the cut
the relationships--platonic, romantic, sexual, parent-to-child, all of them--is the absolute best thing about this show and what keeps me here even when shit gets dumb. the friendship between all the ladies is my fave, but i was extra fond of dan this run and his friendships with amenadiel and chloe were just 10/10. i always liked that he and chloe didn't fall into the hostile ex tropes and were good friends who could co-parent
s3 remains my least favorite and the biggest slog to get through imo, but i still get a kick out of the episode with the undercover sting that has lucifer and pierce pretending to be a couple
s4 also remains my favorite--i feel like it just best encapsulates everything that drew me into the show in the first place
perhaps an unpopular opinion, but i was never a big fan of deckerstar being a fully realized thing. it's obvious that was always gonna be the endgame, but i just like the dynamic between chloe and lucifer a lot more as platonic partners with a little sexual tension and a lot of good-natured ribbing
s6 has some individually good moments, like eve and maze getting hitched--although i saw some people say that came out of nowhere and i respectfully disagree. they're both incredibly impulsive, i think it was very fitting and adorable, and I'm getting teary-eyed again thinking about maze realizing she is capable of loving and deserving of being loved
but anyway the A plot is built off a premise i hate so much: time travel. i loathe time-traveling shit in stories like this, where could it be explained as plausible (and they try, with chloe, i think, pointing out like 'well your brother can freeze time, is this really that much different?' yes, writers-via-chloe, it is, because you used the time-freezing in interesting moments and time travel is all around stupid) but it otherwise comes out of nowhere. and with a fuckin' future kid driving that plot? gross, no thanks
i mean, rory was mostly inoffensive, minus her telling lucifer she wasn't going to the suit fitting and then getting mad when he wasn't there, like girl, you did that one yourself. but if you're gonna introduce a main character in the last season of a show, that character had better be fuckin amazing, and she was not
i suspected i was probably never gonna be wild about how deckerstar wrapped up just because that was like the only relationship i was never super into, but again, the time travel shit is just dumb. I'm just really annoyed at the time travel loop thing being essential to lucifer finding his true calling or whatever and it was nice to see that chloe was always surrounded by friends even after he was gone, but omg what a fucking sacrifice on her part for real. i think it was meant to be a mostly happy ending with their reunion and it just did not hit that way for me. chloe deserved better
but ranting aside, i do still think it's a really fun show and there are so many prime comfort-food-watching moments that were perfect for a little casual holiday viewing <33

hi hello i hope this isn't weird but what do you love about The Great? I finally have hulu and im about to start watching it because of you fr like i dont go there but I WANNA GO THERE // @tickle-bugs
omg hi i love this question!! i'm gonna tell you my favorite and my least favorite aspects so u can make a genuinely informed decision lol!! i believe this is all vague enough to not give anything away but give you a genuine review of the show to help you decide to watch it!! i would LOVE if you watched it, i think if you wrote a fic for this in your gorgeous style, i would DIE bc...i just know you'd KILL IT but also 0 pressure, seriously.
my favorite things about the great are:
the characters are all incredibly well-written, well-rounded, and well-acted - especially elle fanning's portrayal of catherine
the humor is sort of dirty/low-hanging fruit but it genuinely always makes me laugh, every episode, someone will say/do something so absurd or hilarious that it cracks me up
the dynamics between all the characters are fascinating - it takes place in a country/time period where class/status, gender, etc. all are so important to your place in society, and yet, characters often have unlikely imbalances of power and different dynamics that you might not expect
the romance is so compelling, just about every romantic relationship has so many layers to it and plays into many different tropes: you have the doomed-by-the-narrative lovers, the childhood besties to star-crossed lovers, the enemies AND lovers simultaneously...just the romance and the sexual scenes are all so compelling and well-done, they clearly had a great intimacy coordinator on this or smth bc damn
THE COSTUMES ARE SO FUCKING STUNNING, like the costumes are indescribably beautiful and actually breath-taking. the dresses that all the main women wear are like actually perfect, i want to steal them all. elle fanning is so beautiful and they manage to make her look even more amazing, like her hair/makeup/outfits are just incredible, but everyone looks so good.
this show doesn't use "it was a different time period" to justify any lack of diversity - there are characters of all different races, multiple canonically queer characters, women are badass and well-written/represented, and while it does address issues like aspects of discrimination in russia during that time period, there is very little actual racism/homophobia in the show, like the characters who are black or queer do not suffer.
my least favorite things about the great are:
the historical inaccuracy is self-proclaimed, but gets a bit silly at times - catherine the great was so fascinating and well-documented in history, but they really just took a concept and ran with it without even trying to get anything right? there are little things like, the number/gender of siblings catherine had, but then the huge differences like how catherine rose to power and became empress. it makes a compelling story, but if you're a history buff, it can be frustrating!!
on that topic, it does gloss over a lot of the good that catherine the great did in real life as it gets caught up in the drama/comedy/romance of the show and forgets to show her as the genuinely accomplished woman she was.
this is a big one: it got cancelled. i haven't finished s3 yet, but i'm a few episodes in and i'm not confident that it is going to end on a fully satisfying note. if a show being cancelled is a turn-off for you, this one did just end and i'm still not sure if the ending is anti-climactic or not, lol.
lastly, this doesn't personally bother me, but it is extremely inappropiate. there is a lot of violence (not too much gore, everything is either very obviously fake, or not explicit), nudity/sex, and totally vulgar language. there is a lot of infidelity, implied/mentioned SA but no scenes that are violent or explicit, overuse of the word "cunt", etc. so just proceed with caution and consider looking up content warnings if you're wary!!

i have started babylon 5. i am still in the first season, but every time an episode remembers talia winters exists, i go yay! she exists! bc very often she does not exist. the trials of loving a recurring rather than main character.
I know these trials well 😔
Season 1 is interesting because the show has a pretty solid idea of what it wants to be but hasn't quite found the exact way it's going to operate yet. Season 2 is when it really picks up steam and starts setting down the pieces that eventually carry the show to its ultimate conclusion. One of the craziest things about B5 is that the majority of the episodes (something like 100 episodes? Or very close to that) were written by J Michael Straczynski (including 100% of s3 and S4) which is even crazier for the amount of setup and continuity the show manages to pull off.
Anyway, enjoy Talia while you can - her actress exited the show near the end of s2 for a role on the much more high profile NYPD Blue. At least not before getting really gay with the role, though. Thanks, Andrea Thompson 🫡
Very excited to hear what you think about it as you keep going, though, Matthew! It's one of my favorite sci-fi shows bc of just how much the vibe is often The West Wing In Space. Also there's some truly insanely good acting done by men in extremely silly makeup. And also some of the worst computer generated graphics you'll ever see in your life. No one's doing it quite like B5 anymore, and that's a damn shame.

I really think they’re not gonna do J cheating in s3 which on one hand I’m fine with since they made him bi and as a bi person myself I don’t want to see that awful stereotype on screen for the billionth time (granted I also feel like it was so tokenized because it was such a blip and I don’t think they’ll ever mention his attraction to men ever again or explore that in a meaningful way but hey maybe they’ll surprise me since I have low expectations when it comes to TV and bi representation; personally I think Gavin has great chemistry with Sean but I’m not sure they’d ever explore j/s since people may find it weird he’d bounce between the Conklin siblings and as of now Steven is straight in the show iirc) but also I read that s2 follows the book very closely according to some extras on set and it would make me mad if they show Conrad’s very human mistakes and then sugar coat j’s so he still looks like the “nice” guy…
I can’t say j is my favorite but I also liked that the books kinda went beyond his nice guy persona and showed how this behavior can be a red flag (bc there’s too many shows that romanticize the guy who definitely sees the girl as the prize and let them end up together and like sorry to Jere who I know loved belly in his own way but his romantic intentions with her started off wrong since deep down it was about getting back and stealing something from Conrad and that just turned me off to them romantically (I do like their friendship)) but then also show him overcome it (I.e. letting belly go at their wedding day and presumably finding happiness since he was mentioned to have a plus one at the b/c wedding) I think this would be nice to see on tv but idk
granted I feel like they have shown in s1 the darker sides of J already and people ignore it (ex. The firework scene like no jeremiah physical violence is not the answer to your problems😒 and him yelling and projecting at Conrad saying he only sees belly as a competition and then scheming to separate them) but idk I don’t know what other problem aside from the cheating that they could throw between b/j to have them on the brink of a breakup that leads to their sham engagement happen for s3 (my worst fear is they’ll make belly the cheater to take the heat off of J since many of his Stans always say belly was projecting when she claimed him to cheat bc “technically” they were broken up and she was still in love with C and this would will further villanize her relationship with Conrad and thus prop up j… and that would remind me of how dirty the second to all the boys movie did LJ by not showing the very real mistakes Peter made in their relationship and making it look like she just freely bounced between John and Peter for no reason)… anyways this is a ramble but I’ve just been thinking about it since s2 is nearing (and in my heart I need it to be s3 already lol)
okay I have thought long and hard about this specific topic and I hear what you're saying. but I still firmly believe the cheating thing is going to happen in the show. I just...idk. there's just no way around it tbh. It's kind of like having Susannah miraculously live...the story wouldn't be the same. I think the cheating went a lot deeper than the surface level people are stuck at, at least in my interpretation of the book. The whole thing about it is that Jeremiah found out that Belly saw Conrad in Cousins in December and she never told him, and Jere spent months secretly brooding about that and being angry (somewhat rightfully) and the way he says things in the books I feel like Jeremiah thought/assumed that something happened between Conrad and Belly (cause they were alone at the beach house!) and he thinks that's why she never told him she saw Conrad. So I feel like after the whole fight about Cabo and Belly not wanting to go (bc she wanted to be in Cousins instead!) Jere went to Cabo pissed and jealous and slept with what's her face out of spite, to get back at Belly. at least that's my interpretation. But he obviously ended up realizing it was messed up and tried to make it better with the engagement. And then as a double whammy to Jeremiah, because of the engagement, Belly ends up spending the summer alone in Cousins with Conrad planning the wedding which probably made Jere even more angry (it's just so ironic lol).
I'm also with you on the point about Jeremiah being portrayed as the nice, perfect guy up until the 3rd book, and I really hope the show captures what the book did. Because they have worked overtime showing how perfect Jeremiah is and how he's the better option and trying to sell him as the best person. I think the way you get to see his flaws and mistakes (which are very human but also he was a jerk for a lot of the 3rd book outside of the cheating thing and ppl are blind to that I feel, like everyone is stuck on just the cheating). I also think it was super important for Belly to see Jere's flaws. She never truly appreciated what she had with Conrad and the person he is because she couldn't see past his very human mistakes (which all happened when his mother was dying and immediately after her death!!!) and she got so stuck on what Conrad did wrong she looked over and felt like Jeremiah was perfect and seemed so much better, funnier, happier, etc, etc, it was very much a "the grass is always greener on the other side" type of situation. The show definitely did show a lot more darker, more flawed sides of Jeremiah pretty early, but I still think they also worked really hard making him look perfect like in the books (up until book 3). I also think that's partly intentional, part of the point is that Belly had very idealized and romanticized ideas of both boys and what dating them and being around them all the time would be like and her bubble needed to be burst by reality.
anyway, all of that is to say that I still firmly believe the cheating thing is going to happen in the show. So prepare yourself while you have time. There's just nothing else that could compare to that to create not just the sham engagement but the angst, the jealousy, the anger and everything and then the way Conrad finds out about the cheating and immediately runs to Belly, all pissed off at Jere...I don't think anything else could get us there.
also as a side note: Jere and Steven did have good chemistry, but also I LOVE THEIR FRIENDSHIP TOO MUCH TO GO THERE. The friendship between Steven, Jere, and Conrad is so important and special and I feel like in the books they're presented as being like brothers. I don't think I could handle another lifelong friendship being ruined tbh (cause Belly and Jeremiah also had a great friendship and I loved it in the books but the show kinda fastforwarded over it). And I don't think it's something that could ever be explored because it gets too close the whole premise/storyline of Belly dating the Fisher brothers. But there's no harm in shipping! I personally thought Jeremiah and Taylor had really great chemistry as well (Taylor and Steven were also good together and I do love them) and I wanted to see more moments with Jere and Taylor. I am also still salty that the show basically erased Jere and Taylor's whole brief dating thing and some of the best flashbacks from the first book. But they're clearly going in the Steven/Taylor direction for now so I'm not getting my hopes up.

What's your least favorite byler "proof"? Like when someone shows somebody it in an argument/interaction/whatever and it makes you go "noo wtf not that please" 😭 I think for me it's that one part in the infamous byler slides where there's a koala/bear in between mike and El and that represents will.
oh my god youre gonna get me canceled theres so so many i think are insane and dont believe in at all lmao. the masterdoc is fun but theres so much i think wasnt intentional. and so much of what i see here i think is a stretch.
bouta break my silence and come out as an anti believer in so many popular theories on here… no one be mad at me
dont think mike had a letter for will in his pocket in s4 (im SORRY but that wouldve been addressed)
dont think the tracks being different and youre the heart are connected in any way or supposed to be played together they dont sound good or seamless together at all
dont think mike walking into the school newspaper room for nancy and looking around was him looking at guys and gay panicking at all
hate the sauna test theory. they walked in on a bunch of gross naked wrinkly old men theyre not gay panicking?? maybe if they were conventionally attractive young guys but no. i think the masterdoc argues that mike looks down in shame bc hes thinking about his future self as a gay man but i dont believe in that at all tbh. i also dont think that zoom in on the men sign had anything to do with byler it was just an establishing shot of where they were.
not sold on lucas’ new coke speech being related to byler (the seating arrangement in that scene tho was definitely intentional)
i dont think at alll that mikes break down on hopper in s2 yelling “liar liar liar” had anything to do with internalized homophobia. i dont think he ever thought about his sexuality before s3
i think a lot of the times we’ve seen the colors of a certain sexualitys flag has been unintentional. something specifically pointed out like the rainbow ship for will probably was but a background character somewhat close to mike wearing colors that vaguely resemble the bi flag? or the lighting on his shirt kinda looking like the mlm flag? i dont think thats intentional at all. when they do symbolism shit like that its much more obvious (framing mike in the closet)
this one im actually on the fence about because it would be really cool, theres just one word that makes me second guess it. the idea that the girl fake choking at suzie’s house and the dad freaking out was foreshadowing of mikes monologue. on some levels it makes sense but the way the kid said “your terror it looked genuine” kinda makes it seem like it would be implying that mike wasnt actually scared for els life in that moment which i dont like at all. if he had said “your performance” instead i would be 100% sold
i dont believe in most the s1 byler theories. i do think they had the idea of byler in mind from the beginning but at that point they didnt even know if theyd be renewed so i dont think they prioritized anything that could foreshadow byler. i think the lack of romantic tension with mike and el in comparison to jonathan and nancy is telling, but i dont think there was anything in that season relating to mikes sexuality or feelings for will, both because of logistics and prioritizing mlvn for the first season, and because they had TWO SCENES TOGETHER
also dont believe in flickergate as much as i love the idea of it it would break the rules of the universe that theyve already established. the upside down isnt actually in the past its a place frozen in time. things happening there dont affect the past.
theres definitely more but those are the ones i can think of rn.

percy is a stupid ridiculous nerd who thinks he's SOoO cool but in reality he runs around and gets his hand stuck in his own inventions and nearly gets blown up by running through fire with gunpowder in his pockets and has a pompous-ass name with 14 fucking syllables. i love him sm.
finished season 2 btw. it was fabulous how all the other characters got their issues delved into but also funny how its reading very much "here's a trauma episode for keyleth and here's an episode for the twins and here's an episode for grog and here's one for percy- actually wait you're really fucked up you need an entire season"
do you know what cr youtube episodes correspond with the show plot? I know that the first several aren't show related bc dnd copyright, but is there a confirmed period for s1/2?
~ percy anon
(thanks for letting me chat w/ u)
Tumblr media
percival fredrickwhatever the fuck de rolo iii is so funny. hes my favorite pathetic little loserguy. now that he is (kind of) free from the tragic backstory demons he gets to be goofier :] builds an actual mousetrap out of forks and then sets it off on his own hand ... gives his ridiculous fancy coat to the girl he likes then tries to pretend hes not freezing his ass off ... he does NOT act like a guy with 16 wis. loser. and yeah honestly with the amount of gunpowder he has on him at all times im surprised he hasnt exploded yet. what a freak. what an absolute loser. nerd. i love how they do let him be cool with his tragic backstory and really good aesthetic and swagful competence at violence and murder. and yet he is still silly. and dumb <3 my little guy. bully him more its what taliesin would want
his name is a running joke in the campaign btw he'll introduce himself with all 17 syllables of it and at least two other people will immediately follow it up with "you can call him percy"
also WOW you got through this show fast. congratulations! and welcome to the eternal waiting-on-s3 trenches </3
actually episodes 1-2 of tlovm are a very loose adaptation of some of the pre-stream content (since they didn't start streaming until several years into the actual campaign)! they've got a summary video for all of the pre-stream stuff called the story of vox machina which has some really pretty illustrations. there's also "vox machina: origins" which is an ongoing series of comics adapting pre-stream vox machina. the briarwoods arc (tlovm season 1) corresponds to campaign episodes 24-36. they get the invitation to the feast with the briarwoods at the end of 23 though and it's all set up in 14 iirc. i'm not entirely sure of tlovm season 2 content since i actually only just started on campaign chroma conclave, but according to the wiki that whole arc would be episodes 39-83. although tlovm definitely hasn't gotten to campaign episode 69. so i think they're only halfway through that. the children yearn for season 3
(and yeah ofc np!!! its very nice to have somebody to yell about percy with sldkgjsljglsk)

a'ight. let's talk about the netflix adaptation of avatar: the last airbender.
SPOILERS PRESENT THROUGHOUT UNDER THE CUT.
this covers eps 1-4 bc i need a break for food and stuff lmfao.
so i like probably many others went in braced with the expectation of it being...well, like a certain movie that we all like to pretend does not exist. i had seen some things, which i discussed on another post, that worried me greatly. i would consider myself an atla superfan; it was a huge part of my childhood and i can remember sitting on the floor of the living room watching sozin's comet with my brother as the finale aired for that first time. so while i was excited for the idea of a live action version, having been badly burned by the movie, i was wary.
i am pleasantly surprised to say that, other than some flaws that i will discuss, it actually was...good?
i was very concerned about the removal of sozin's comet, given how integral it is to the story. sure, you do have actors who will be aging, as it is gonna take at least probably 6 years for the whole story to wrap up. this is, of course, assuming that netflix does not yeet it after s2 as they so love to do. seeing that it was present in episode 1 was...a little confusing considering what i had read. but i'm glad that it was there.
seeing sozin himself was awesome tbh. i think that he is a really interesting character and i honestly would be thrilled to have an entire series dedicated to him and roku, with their friendship and the trials they suffered together as firelord and avatar respectively. that was always one of my favorite episodes in s3 because of the deep introspection we got and the history of those two characters. but uh yeah when he just casually burned that earthbender to death, yeah. that was kinda the first sign that this was not going to be an adaptation geared towards children.
which i guess does make sense, doesn't it? after all, those of us like myself who grew up with avatar are no longer children but instead grown adults with children of our own in some case. it's an adaptation: it has to adapt to the times.
seeing the actual genocide of the air nomads was...a lot. that is one thing i will say that the live action had over the cartoon; it is hard to show death in a cartoon intended for children which means that, in a way, it is harder to fully realize the gravity of the situation. by showing it, by showing the deaths of men, women, and children, you as the viewer get the chance to better understand what was actually lost. i think it was easier to see them not just as characters but as people.
i'll admit that the cursing threw me for a loop, lol. it was just strange to casually hear "ass" being used in the realm of atla. but, again, this comes back to the need for accepting the aging audience.
i know there had been some discussion of aging katara to 16 and de-aging sokka to 14. if that was done, there was no sign of it. i had also had concerns about the removal of sokka's sexism but, honestly, i genuinely feel like the story was made much stronger for the lack of it. i liked the replacement of his 'dad left me in charge, i'm the leader, this is all my responsibility' sooo much more because it made more sense, especially when the revelations from the episode called spirited away came to light. it worked. and it worked in a way that lent gravity to the situation rather than the rather comedic ties that the original sexism offered.
i think in terms of sheer characterization, sokka was probably the strongest overall. i feel like his actor really got the character. katara had a problem of, at times, feeling too flat, as well as lacking some of the passion that i felt the cartoon allowed her to have.
aang's actor did really well, i will say. my friend thought that he did not quite convey the joyfulness that cartoon aang had but, having had a few hours to think about that, i think that might have been purposefully done. the adaptation was, again, not aimed at young kids. it makes sense that aang should feel, especially based on his discussions with the other avatars and other central characters, more serious and concerned about the general state of the world. a century is a long time to be away and i liked the way they showed the struggle he had with the fact that his entire people were gone. he really was the last airbender and the adaptation made me feel that. sure, it came at the cost of some of that youthful joyfulness, but i think it was a fair trade overall.
i loved gran gran doing the initial intro lines with kyoshi doing the actual intro. gran gran doing it made it feel like a story, a legend, that had been told for decades.
something else i enjoyed was the way that the adaptation handled integrating in other plotlines. getting to see ozai and azula, as well as mai and ty lee, in the fire nation capital city was really interesting. to me, it was a reminder that even when other characters are focused on other things, there are always things happening. the fake out of azula being a spy for her father for rebellions was fantastic and i think a key to the beginning of her characterization as a whole. i will admit i had some concerns about azula but her actress was incredible. absolutely incredible.
sokka's chemistry with suki was SIZZLING. like that entire bit was just so good. them fighting together and training together was just. urgh. it was so good.
now a character i will say i strongly prefer in the cartoon over the live action was zhao. i felt like his actor was...just trying too hard. maybe it's because jason isaacs just has a villainous voice but the cartoon always felt scarier to me. zhao in the live action felt...cartoonish and silly. almost like his actor was not taking it seriously, if that makes sense? that was disappointing to me. zhao was meant to be the first real antagonist of the series, a villain we could really hate and root for his downfall. instead, he just sort felt cartoonish and cheezy to me. i'm not sure if that was a direction choice or just the actor failing to understand the character but that was one of my chief complaints overall.
on the opposite end, iroh was so good. let's all be real here for a moment: there was no way, no way in hell, that a live action iroh was gonna be better than the cartoon. it was not gonna happen. iroh in the original was peak character and they were never gonna recreate him. but they didn't need to! they didn't need to because the live action iroh was just so good. he brought the same sort of laid back, calm serenity that the original iroh did without feeling like a carbon copy - or worse, a caricature - of him. i loved absolutely everything about iroh.
i wanna talk about the funeral scene in e4 but i also don't wanna talk about the funeral scene in e4 because it made me BAWL LIKE AN ACTUAL BABY Y'ALL I WENT FROM PERFECTLY FINE TO TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE SOBBING BROKENLY IN .2 SECONDS. as soon as i recognized the music that was it i was done, i was gone, almost had to pause to get myself back under control. it was bad.
i really liked how they did jet. it was a little strange for that to all be taking place in omashu but i understand the necessity of pulling everything down to fewer locations.
speaking of, to address something i spoke of at some length in another post, one of my key concerns upon learning that there was not going to be the 'running around to different locations' plots was that team avatar and by extension, us the audience, would miss out on seeing the effects of a century long war. i am very happy to say that those concerns were not valid. i actually think the live action did a better job of communicating those effects in a way that was truly shocking. think about bumi, for example. a character who in the show is, really, a sort of comedy break became instead a character who felt real, felt serious, and felt like he was bruised all over by the war that he has been fighting. i was on the fence a lot about that plot change, where bumi was sort of dark and gritty, but the more i have thought about it, the more i realize that it makes sense. a hundred years is a long time to battle an enemy that, frankly, is better equipped than you. is it any wonder that he was so angry at aang, even if that anger was misplaced? i don't really think so.
i am going to stop here, get some food, shower, and discuss the last 4 episodes a little later bc this is already unbelievably long lmao.
please feel free to let me know what you thought of it!!

I’ve noticed that a lot of your recent posts seem to be heading the direction of “Joey Batey is our queer savior from the anti queer writers” and I feel like that’s kind of ignoring all of the other queer representation that happened this season outside of Jaskier. He was just talking specifically about Jaskier’s character. And I’m really happy that he got so much input on the character that he is very passionate about.
But the line of thinking that Joey Batey is the cause of queerness on the continent just feels… well it does a disservice to the writers who have clearly been trying to craft this inclusive version of the continent where things such as queerness and diversity feel natural. I am pretty sure Cassie Clare even gave an interview to Radiotimes in June saying that she felt so comfortable playing Philippa as queer because of how the writers had written the world. It’s also ignoring all the other queer characters this season. Whether it’s Philippa getting laid, Ciri dancing with another woman, a woman flirting with Yennefer, or the mages flirting in general, and having been implied to sleep with each other there is queerness outside of Jaskier in many different forms. Like the Continent is just gay af.
It’s confusing how people seem to think queerness wouldn’t exist in the Witcher without Joey Batey, as if there are many other forms of queerness in the show outside of Jaskier. It’s almost like people forget gay women are here too 😂 but hey that’s not unusual is it?
Hi anon. While I do agree that the focus on Jaskier as queer representation is disproportionate in the fandom in comparison to Philippa (<3) and other queer rep. I do want to. Y'know. Clear the air about my own blog.
I'm not trying to ignore other rep in the show; I focus a lot on jaskier because he's been my favorite in the series for the longest since 2020, and his characterization was/is especially relatable to me for a lot of other reasons besides his sexuality. He's been my favorite for the longest, so I do tend to focus on him more than others. It's true.
On the other hand, for example, I've only properly known Philippa since season 3 came out (we only got a brief introduction at the end of s2 & I haven't played/read enough of the games/books (respectively) to really see a lot of her). That's not to put her down to elevate jaskier/pit one against the other, though. On the contrary, she's probably my favorite character of the season so far (or at least one of them) outside the destiny family & jaskier.
And the discourse on my blog when it comes to what could've happened during production/behind the scenes mostly comes from, quite frankly, a lot of the bitter taste in my mouth in relation to some of the poorer writing choices from s2 (it was there a bit after s1 once I'd read the books but it wasn't as bad), because I still regard it with. Mixed Feelings to be honest.
(While I'm enjoying s3 much more, I'm still worried in regards to the second volume bc things feel Too Good.)
That being said, I am really happy (if not pleasantly surprised) to see that the show treats queerness really well! I'm happy that a franchise that's meant so much to me for the past few years is giving good rep. It's just that when I hear things like "oh the actor did revise it with the writers" in regards to jaskier in s3 (when iirc that's not the first time one of the actors has had to work with production to revise smth), my, admittedly, Nosy And Speculative Self will naturally go "...okay so how bad was it before? 😟👀" (bc this is still. y'know. the show that pulled the entire Eskel Thing)
...and there you have it!

you always seem to get into stuff i was into a really long time ago ^_^. character thingy for five umbrella academy. he was my favorite little guy too hehe
yayyy moony five otacringe gets to talk about their namesake again :DDD
favorite thing about them: god there are so many things but I think his neurodivergent coding is very high up there. i think about the fact that he’s covered his walls with math equations even before he disappeared and klaus’s rant to him about how he spends all of his time thinking about how the world’s going to end and that he feels out of place in his body and is infantilized because of it a lot. he’s just soooo good at representing how weird and scary the nd experience can be.
least favorite thing about them: god awful team player. like look dude i fully understand you have trust issues and also the antisocial aspect of being on the spectrum is very real but you need to figure out how to cooperate better.
favorite line: “no twine, no birth mom.” that whole episode is free serotonin to me honestly the high five best friends dynamic is so fun.
brOTP: I call them high five like 99% of the time but I should probably clear up who they are so five and klaus. their weird silly antics captivate me, and i also feel like they probably have the most in common out of any of the siblings w/ the shared sudden war trauma and partners they can’t return to. they can do both silly and sweet and it’s great.
OTP: five/delores my beloved!!! i really wish he got more time with her because when he’s with her it’s cute as hell and also they have so much weird unconventional aroace old married couple swag. mannequins are super cool too so he has god taste.
nOTP: any hargreevescest ship but especially five/viktor or five/klaus bc they very explicitly do have established sibling bonds. five’s just hard to ship with anyone but delores.
random headcanon: living with klaus post-s3 since he legally needs an adult guardian (the government does not acknowledge time travel as real apparently.) klaus nagged him to listen to the magnus archives, and he’s now a big fan. his favorite entities are the stranger and the extinction obviously.
unpopular opinion: the “five is a boomer” jokes piss me off to no end because my guy was literally in the future for decades!!! he had full access to all modern media and technology up to 2019! also his job would basically need him to be good with advanced tech so he knows how to like, use a phone.
song i associate with them: YOUNG CAESAR 2000 BY THE MOUNTAIN GOATS!!!!!!! literally written about him idc what anyone else says
favorite picture of them:

i know the fives are like the least different between mediums but both show five and comic five get photos here

hai :3 kenji or ritsu?
kenji
first impression: ohhh gosh lucien dodge is his va... nothing against lucien dodge, he just voices m*hito so like... what will this kid be like... (i just have such an intense hatred for m*hito lol)
impression now: oH MY GOD HE IS LITERALLY THE BABIEST BOY I LOVE HIM SO MUCH HE IS SO SO SO SPECIAL TO ME I WOULD PROTECT HIM WITH MY LIFE GO BACK TO KENJI AND TECCHOU I WANNA SEE THEM wORKING TOGETHER TO FIND JOUNO OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM SO MUCH HE IS SO SPECIAL TO ME AND IS SUCH A COMPLEX CHARACTER I WISH HE GOT MORE SCREEN TIME AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
favorite moment: ijhgfcghjkoijhgf this is SO HARD bc like. they're all my favorite moments. ummm but i think i just really love the fight between kenji and tecchou and how kenji didn't even HESITATE to offer his help to tecchou and then when he went into rage mode??? oh my god CHILLS I LOVE HIM!!! and just his whole backstory GOD. i also love in s3 when he's with jun and yosano and they're heading into the pm headquarters and he's just getting HIT by SO MANY bullets and just goes "owowoowowo that really stings :(" oh bby boy you are so silly wAIT ALSO THE SCENE WHEN HE'S LIKE TELLING THEM THE STORY ABOUT THE TEN YEAR HARVEST!!! AND HOW HE GOT FOOD FOR EVERYONE BUT SAID HE COULDN'T EAT ANY OF IT BC OF HIS ABILITY :(
idea for a story: GOD I HAVE SO MANY??? most of my fics include kenji oops- anyways i want to write another 5+1 (ik... dangerous...) where it's like... 5 times kenji befriended an enemy (or someone who very much so is like "i'm not here to make friends") and one time they befriended him something like that just to like. explore how kenji makes friends and his inherent kindness and how impactful it is ough
unpopular opinion: he's a relevant character and should be in the show/manga more- ummm i mean... i think his ability is lowkey one of the most tragic and should be explored so much more? and i suppose it isn't fair to talk about abilities like who's is the most tragic bc that's not fair and you shouldn't compare, but his also just hits hard bc he's so YOUNG and i feel like people ignore his ability a lot bc he's the happy one and there are so many other characters we like more. also. kyouka and kenji are Not in love lol
favorite relationship: all of these are non-romantic! kenji and jun'ichiro!!! THEY ARE SIBLINGS!!! i demand that jun adopt kenji as his brother (and kyouka as his sister lol). but also kunikida and kenji bc there is NO WAY they would be like "okay kyouka is a child so she needs to room with someone but uhhh kenji yeah go live by yourself that's fine" especially when he's never really been around technology before and canonically doesn't really know how phones work super well (there's that lil drawing of fukuzawa showing him how to use the phone), so he lives with kunikida and they have a close bond bc of that <333 also kenji and tecchou for Obvious reasons lol
favorite headcanon: kenji with ts!!! if i have to have ts, so does kenji, sorry bby at least you aren't alone tho! i gave it to higuchi too!!! n e ways. also he has sleeping and eating troubles due to his ability and also that he lives with kunikida <333 oh and that he eats tomatoes and onions like apples <333
ritsu
first impression: oooooooough max mittelman is his va!!! haha what if ritsu is my favorite just for that? and then grace gave me a Look like do Not. and then grace telling me: "ritsu might be your favorite, he has an inferiority complex" and then it was suddenly. oh no.
impression now: i'VE BEEN REBORN AS A FOOL!!! BEST BOY!!! HE IS SO SILLY BUT DOESN'T KNOW IT!!! HE IS SO THIRTEEN!!! HE MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!! HE HAS A MASSIVE GULIT COMPLEX AND BBY GURL THAT IS SO RELATABLE SOMEONE HUG HIM AND TELL HIM THAT IT'S OKAY AND THAT HE'S ALLOWED TO MAKE MISTAKES AND NO ONE HATES HIM FOR IT!!! *TEARS MY HAIR OUT AND SCREAM* *CRIES OVER THE OFFICIAL ART OF RITSU WITH TWO SPOONS IN HIS POCKET*
favorite moment: i think we all know. the "suffering... and more suffering" or, as they say it in the stage play: "pain... deep pain". aka, the cactus scene!!! i lhave literally written analyses about that scene in both the manga, anime, and stage play. but like also "i've been reborn as a fool" and also "dimPLEEEEEEE IT WON'T BEND!!! ;-;" oh bby boy oh honey ilysm
idea for a story: i wanna write another oneshot about ritsu and gulit, but different from the other one i wrote. i kind of want to like... idk i have Such a good ritsu-fic title ("the tiniest life boat full of people i know") about him during the big clean-up arc. i also have a oneshot started that's about ritsu with ts and the incident that made him suppress to the point where no one actually knows that he Has ts until shige just offhandedly mentions it and everyone is ??? and then they intervene and are like bestie you are Hurting yourself... stop suppressing
unpopular opinion: lol i ship riteru more than ritshou although ritsu has grown on me more
favorite relationship: see this one is so unfair bc like... ritsu & shige bc complex sibling relationship, but then also ritsu & reigen bc they are actually super similar and despise each other for it, but then ritsu & teru bc like... look at they!!! they are so silly!!! and then ritsu & shou is also a great dynamic bc it's shou helping ritsu be more free and being super honest with him and ritsu helping shou deal with his emotions
favorite headcanon: ts ritsu!!! but also that ritsu has an immense guilt complex and that during and after the big clean-up, all he wanted was for someone to tell him that he was a bad person. and also he suppresses his tics hardcore to the point that nobody knows he has ts and also that he likes the sensation of falling🥰

what’s your ranking of breaking bad and better call Saul seasons?
Oh my, this one is difficult bc one is one of my favourite shows of all time and the other is bcs lol I'm kidding
Okay, brba:
Season 4, season 1, season 5, season 3, season 2.
This one is reeeeally hard because all seasons are great to me, the fact s3 ranks so low is ridiculous bc that season has some of my favourite eps of the show. But that just goes to show how much I like this entire show.
Also yes, I'm a s1 enjoyer. I love how it's a more psychological season; the contrast between the mundane and the absurd that is so pronounced; the humor; the moral and philosophical debates it sparks...
S2 ranks the lowest bc it was the one that made me take a bit of a pause when I was watching bc I was a little bored after tuco died. But it's still an amazing season with so many iconic moments.
I have to say I don't remember a lot from better call saul's first two and a half seasons, in my head it's all jumbled together as one big season, so take my rating here with that in mind:
Season 4, season 3, season 5, season 2, season 1, season 6.
BCS, much like ats, is a show where I REALLY like one season and then the rest is just meh. I love s4 but I'm not super invested in the rest.
Season 1 was really really boring to me, it would be my least favorite if s6 didn't exist. The reason s6 is the last one is because, for a final season, it was so disappointing and frustrating, similarly to what happened with ats. I could not name you one episode from S6 that I loved and that I came out from it thinking it was great.
Season 5 used to be closer to the top but looking back at it now, it was a very messy season and I wasn't a fan of how they developed things that proved to be essential to the show. I don't remember a lot from s2 and s3 but s3 ranks higher bc it was when I started to actually enjoy watching the show and it has some very good eps.
