i choose to respect susan. i CHOOSE to believe that the acronymic nickname she gave her time capsule was so catchy that it single-handedly influenced all of time lord society and everyone in the universe forever

@tmnt-tychou 's Mona and my iteration Venus just being cool, hot and couture
the problem is I thought it'd be so fun and cute to draw them in couture looks I think captures their spirits/character from the years and seasons their debut episodes aired.
.......tl;dr it was a pain in the ass finding full body reference of any one outfit and I fucking had to figure out wha the shoes were in Mona's look by looking at the photo of a different look coming after it on the runway.... so anyway.
Mona's debut episode aired mid September 1990, didn't see any A/W 1990 looks that seemed like her so I went into the next year with something from Yves Saint Laurent's couture a/w 1991 show.
Venus' debut episode aired .....uhhh... her whole introduction spanned 5 episodes. whatever that's A/W, hence putting her in Valentino A/W 1997

Watching What If's obessession with Captain Carter is kind of hilarious because I've never seen such a blatant example of what Red on Overly Sarcastic Productions talked about in her trope talk on Badasses where she talks about how you need to SHOW your character is a badass instead of just being like "whooooaaaaa look at this character arent they a badass they're so coooooool"
When in reality your audience is kinda *collective eye roll*

The way Garrus sees himself: takes no bullshit cowboy cop turned merc bc he wasnt Doing Enough Good In The Universe
Everybody else: sends letters to Shepard to Please Look After That Sweet Himbo before he hurts himself
How my Shepard sees Garrus: if he shouts "scratch one!" one more time i am going to have to get him in a headlock and give him a noogie
Also my Shepard: gonna rock that nerd's world before the year is out is2g

As most of you know very well, I've got the HTTYD brainworms. This has been a journey of "who the fuck is that" every time someone mentioned a character. Curse you English centric fandoms.
I've gotten attached to "characters react to the film" fics as well. I've read an astonishing number of them.
There's one scene in the first film that no one seems to think as worthy of notice as I do.
In the very first film, while Hiccup is still doing his narrative introduction, after he shoots down Toothless, he starts getting chased by a Monstrous Nightmare. Stoick, who was fighting with a different dragon at the time, leaves everything behind to go save him himself. When he's there the Nightmare tries to shoot fire at him. Unfortunately, it surpassed his shot limit, so it only sputters a bit of fire.
Stoick doesn't flinch at any of it. He looks at the Dragon and goes "you're all out" and starts fucking uppercutting it. He just starts punching the dragon in the face. That thing has razor sharp teeth.
Stoick wins.
He fucking fist fights a dragon and wins.
Ok this is not the first dragon he punches in the face, but it's the first that fucking turns tail and fucks off out of there. He wins this fight exclusively via punching it.
Y'know when Hiccup is like "they say when he was a toddler, he snapped a dragon's head clean off its shoulders. Do I believe that? Yes. Yes I do" or something like that? Well, me too Hiccup. Me too.
