#because arizona is like her second mom.
In this oil on canvas painting by Criselda Vasquez, she uses her parents to reinterpret and contemporize the iconic 1930 painting by Grant Wood, American Gothic.
My parents were young migrant workers, my dad was brought into migrant work at a very young age, he dropped out of school when he was in middle high to do so. He was brought into migrant work by his mom and his moms mom, and so on. Migrant work is all my dad knew, on the other hand, my mom finished school, and attended university prior to getting pregnant, which pushed her into working in such conditions. Still was very interested in continuing to educate herself in any way possible. In the early 2000’s my parents officially decided to stay in Colorado, even though they could have chosen from California, New Mexico, Arizona, or Colorado, my parents were set on Colorado. My mom, still wanting to expand her knowledge , began taking English classes at our local Migrant Head Start, a head start that was for migrant families in the summer to provide child care services and early childhood education. My mom has no ESL (English as a second language) degree whatsoever, but, my mom took time out of her day and energy to not only teach herself English, but to help her 5 year old daughter with her english. My dad on the other hand didn't bother learning the language, and soon after getting basic knowledge on the language, I became my dads personal interpreter.
Now growing up in a strictly spanish speaking household, even after learning english. My parents made it more of a priority to speak Spanish at home as much as possible, because they believed that in not doing so, we would lose our spanish my dad would go off and yell, “No no no en esta casa se abla Espanol, nada de ese engl-eesh” or “Na nada de eso, espanol por favor”, Making it hard to practice my english at times outside of school, but still very much grateful for this decision now. In school I strictly spoke english, because besides being the only place I could practice, my teachers would make it a priority we only spoke english as school, especially those in the ESL program. This is what always confused me about the situation. I wasn't allowed to speak Spanish at school, but I became my school's interpreter on almost every occasion, so you know, I kinda had to speak Spanish for that. Same at home, I was not allowed to speak English to or around my parents inside the house or outside, but yet I was always told "Mija diles esto…” and I went off speaking english. At the time, it made it hard to be encouraged in being the bilingual student or the interpreter everywhere I go, but now thinking back, I wouldn't have it any other way. Boy was that annoying, but no one else would do it. Even though there were times where I wished I only knew one language and cried, because other children and peers would make fun of my accent, in which now, I am extremely thankful. Everytime I felt like not wanting to speak because I said ‘Cinnamon’ instead of ‘synonym’ (say it out loud and tell me it doesn't sound the same) I always had my momma cheering me on. Times where I felt frustrated because I couldn't understand a concept, my mom was also there reminding me that being bilingual is an honor, and should be embraced and would tell me, “Nunca te avergüences por tu lenguaje! Puedes conquistar el mundo sabiendo dos lenguajes , nunca te avergüences mija” (Never be ashamed for your language. You can rule the world knowing 2 languages). Boy, my mama couldn't be more right…

Fantasy High Good Place AU
I am very happy that y'all voted for this, because it's been living in my brain rent-free for the past couple weeks.
So, right off the bat---this is partially self-indulgence, and partially a little exploration of what the Bad Kids would be like as adults if they hadn't found each other... and, well, if they were living in a more mundane world. And, of course, I had to combine and add a couple roles, just to make everyone fit.
Fig: She's in the Eleanor role as the main POV character, and as the first person who decides to learn how to be better. In life, she was a twenty-seven-year-old musician living in Phoenix, Arizona who was still trying to find her big break, and got by via drug-dealing after a string of shitty service jobs. Fig hasn't spoken to her mom in years, even after both Gilear and Gordie (aka Gorthalax) have both died, and she put up a front of selfishness and constant lies due to not trusting anyone and being afraid of being vulnerable. But when she dies and supposedly gets mistaken for a pro-bono death-row lawyer, she realizes that she's gotta ask for help...
Ayda: She's in the Chidi role---a high-strung ethics professor who devoted her life to figuring out the deep secrets of the universe, often at the cost of her own mental health. She's not as indecisive as Chidi, but she's very much of the mindset that ethical standards should always be upholded, and she initially sees nothing wrong with the points system. As Ayda becomes closer to Fig, she starts to pick up on how the system doesn't count for extenuating circumstances, and how much of an actual minefield ethics is... and she starts to reflect on her own life, where she never knew how to connect with others and stayed in her comfort zone of academia. Throughout bonding with the others, she slowly learns how to let her walls down and challenge the system.
Fabian: He's in a Tahani role, as the upper-class socialite who pretty much bought his way into "heaven" and definitely has a bunch of narcissistic tendencies. Unlike Tahani, however, he's very much aware of his own failings, and he constantly stresses about how fragile his standing and happiness is---though, he's become incredibly good at hiding it. Fabian's pretty much been living in the shadow of his late father's legacy for his whole life, and he spent most of that life trying to be just as good, if not better, than him... so, when he supposedly gets into the "Good Place," it's essentially proof that he did everything right. Of course, that still doesn't keep him from feeling like there's something amiss, especially since there's some issues with his assigned soulmate...
Riz: In life, Riz was a P.I. who mostly did petty work for rich people and got used to doing things that were vaguely shady in order to get by. By the time he died, he had a very low opinion of people in general, and had a "dog eat dog" mindset... which was immediately blown out of the water the second he realized that he'd been mistaken for a brilliant secret agent, and he was going to spend his afterlife with a self-centered rich boy as romantic soulmates. Riz being Riz, he immediately started to figure a way out of this situation, eventually finding out Fig---and one other person---and agreeing to take Ayda's ethics lessons if it meant he could earn his spot in the Good Place... though, of course, he's still subconsciously picking up on the little hints that something is off.
Kristen: She's in the "Jason" role... sorta. When she was alive, she was a former member of a conservative Christian cult who left when she was nineteen, spent the next five years trying to find another truth to pursue, and spent the last three years of her life partying her problems away and living high on nihilism. So it was quite a shock for her when, after dying, she supposedly got sent to the Good Place... and only because they thought that she's a humanitarian pastor, and straight to boot. Kristen initially doesn't want to waste time with ethics lessons, but as more and more things start to go wrong, she reluctantly agrees---and ends up reconnecting with that curious, searching part of herself that she thought she'd left behind, over and over again.
Gorgug: When he was alive, he was a physicist who made a lot of impressive discoveries---many of which had the potential to really help people---but due to the fact that he had a lot of issues with standing up for himself and believed himself to not be as smart as he actually was, he tended to let himself get taken advantage of and have other people take credit for his work. Getting into the Good Place kind of confirmed Gorgug's belief that keeping your head down and being humble would pay off eventually... until his assigned soulmate immediately told him that she was a) gay, and b) here by mistake. The two of them do become pretty good friends, and Gorgug even sits in on some of Ayda's ethics lessons, learning a bit about himself as he does.
Adaine: She's Janet---or, rather, an "Oracle," one of many informational assistants made by the Good Place (the Bad Place has Informants, while Accountants have Librarians). Every Oracle is given a name upon being activated in order to distinguish her from others, and, well, hers is Adaine. She starts off as your typical cheery, happy-to-help living Siri, but as time goes on and she gets rebooted over and over again, she starts to form genuine connections with the humans, and with connections come actual feelings... including the rise of mild anxiety. Adaine's grateful for that, though, as she sees becoming more human as an incredible experience.
Aelwyn: Honestly... there was no other character who was bitchy, multifaceted, and weirdly loving enough to be Micheal. At first, underneath her quirky and "cool older sister" angel persona, she's every bit the callous, vindictive, and cruel demon who only lives to torment human souls and prove her worth to her boss. But reboot after reboot, she fails, the humans become closer and figure her out... and she's eventually forced to cave. Aelwyn never fully loses her bitchiness and slightly amoral nature, but she does develop a heart and self-awareness as she becomes friends with the humans---and as she forms a sisterly connection with Adaine. Even a demon can learn to grow.
I have more thoughts, but I've spent a lot of time figuring out how to make this coherent, so... yeah!

Fuck it Friday 🏒🥅

the sabres won last night (and my boys looked damn good doing it). it inspired me to actually do an outline for my NHL AU. It's still just vibes but at least now I know where the vibes should be taking me.
Here's a little bit from Buck and Eddie learning more about each other on one of the first roadies of the season. This section involved researching Swedish citizenship laws and Mexican citizenship laws. It's way more complicated than I make it seem, but it's a fic so I can do whatever I want.
“Well when you do meet up with her, I can watch Chris for you if you want,” Buck offers with a smile. “Or I can come as backup.”
“I may take you up on watching Chris,” Eddie smiles at him, soft and just for Buck. “But I think showing up with my six foot two two-hundred and thirty pound defensive partner to talk about a custody agreement might make her feel like she’s being ambushed. I still want her in Christopher's life and I'd like it if she were still in mine. She was my friend before she was anything else and I still love her, even if that love has changed into something besides romantic in the last two years."
“Okay, yeah, that’s fair,” Buck nods, his heart twisting a little at the thought that Eddie might still be in love with his ex. He doesn't let himself linger on that though. “Your abuela is in L.A., right? Is the rest of your family there too?”
“My parents are still in El Paso. I-I don’t want them here. When Shannon got pregnant they kind of lost it on me, called me irresponsible, said I was throwing my future away. Then they were pissed that Shannon wouldn’t marry me. It wasn’t good,” Eddie’s voice is tight, like this still hurts to talk about. “My middle sister Sophia is in her second year at Arizona State - she’s on their hockey team and I’m pretty positive she’ll get drafted if the PWHA is still around in a couple years when she graduates.”
“She’s good?”
“She’s unbelievable,” Eddie looks so fucking proud. “She led the team in goals last year as a freshman.”
“Damn,” Buck names another mental note, this one to look up Sophia Diaz’s stats and highlights. “What about your youngest sister.”
“She’s graduating from high school this year. I’m five years older than her so I’m not as close with her as I am with Sophia, but Adriana is so smart,” Eddie still looks insanely proud. “She wants to move to Stockholm for university. My parents don’t really want her to, so I offered to help her pay if she needs it.”
“Is it harder to get into schools over there if you’re American?”
“Technically, we can all get Swedish citizenship because of our mom,” Eddie tells him. “I’m actually an American citizen, Swedish, and Mexican. I’ve got all three passports and everything.”
“What the fuck,” Of everything Eddie’s hold him, that’s the most surprising. "You're an international man of mystery, Diaz."
"How do you now Austin Powers but not the Fast and the Furious?"

IMAGINES- (Vampire) Bella Swan
Bold Moves
Requested
Masterlist
Where Bella is a vampire and way more confident and flirty. She’s a vampire from the Cullin’s but Renesmee doesn’t exist and she never fell in love with Edward. (Her short backstory of getting turned is, she started to be best friends with Edward and James found her, wanted to kill her and the Cullin’s wanted to protect her, basically when she went to Arizona to find her mom, Edward and the others didn’t make it in time and the Vampire venom already got to her heart and they couldn’t save her)
“[Name], did you hear about the new people?” My friend, Alecia comes up to me as I just opened my locker.
“Um, people? As in numerous?” I raise a brow, putting some books away, along with taking one out for my first class.
“Yeah, I just seen them in the parking lot. It’s like six foster siblings or something. Four of them are dating each other by the way.” She gossips, whispering the end of her sentence.
I guess what she said should be shocking but we don’t know their back story or anything that’s happened with them so it’s none of my business.
“Oh wow,” I hum. Shutting my locker, then the hallway grows loud and I glance down.
“It’s them.” Alecia gets closer to me, hugging my arm. I roll my eyes and try to walk away but Alecia doesn’t let me.
I hug my book close to my chest and watch the new kids walk down the hall with everyone gawking at them.
There’s one at the end who I make direct eye contact with. A girl who has dark longer hair. Her brown eyes piercing through my own. I try to look away but it feels hypnotizing.
As she begins to pass me I see her smirk.
Scrunching my face in confusion I feel Alecia shake at my arm.
“She’s totally into you!” She laughs, I don’t even respond, just taking my arm back and walking away.
“What? I’m telling the truth!” She insists, following after me.
“We haven’t even talked how is she into me?” I question her, both of us getting to our first class that we luckily got together.
“Love or lust at first sight, it’s a thing [Name].” She tells me, sitting down.
“What’s a thing?” Our other friend, Christopher plops down across from us at the table.
“Nothing.” I was quick to say but of course it doesn’t even matter because Alecia informs him on what it was.
“One of the new girls totally has a thing for [Name].” She excitedly whispers to Chris who laughs in response.
“Alecia are you just being delusional again? You say this about anyone who looks our way.” He reminds her, she gets quiet for a second but then sits up straight once someone walks into the room.
Leaning into the table. “It’s her!” She mouths. I let out a deep breath, opening up my work book and getting out a pencil.
As the class starts the more Alecia fan girls and is practically talking with her eyes.
I start to tune it out the more she taps me repetitively. I also try my best to not even make a glance at the new girl across the table.
Once the bell rings, saying that the class has ended I immediately shot up and went to talk out of the room. Accidentally bumping into someone,
I mumble out a sorry and try to continue on my way. “It’s okay, but hey, what’s your name?” It’s the new girl, of course it is.
It’s like she wants Alecia to live out her weird fantasies.
“Um, why?” I ask, watching as the other students leave the room.
Alecia is giggling as Christopher practically drags her out as well.
“Because, you seem nice and you’re pretty. I want to be friends.” She smiles, stepping a little bit closer to me and I inhale sharply.
“It’s [Name], I have to get to class, sorry.” I tell her, my face turned hot and I rushed out of the situation, not letting her respond to me.
The next week at lunch, I sit at my usual table. Hoping that I won’t have to bump into the new girl again.
All week it’s like I’ve been seeing her everywhere I go.
No matter what, even if it’s just going to the bathroom. It’s driving me crazy.
Alecia and Chris sit down in front of me and I give them a small smile before checking my phone.
“So, Bella is her name.” I tell them. Knowing that’s exactly what Alecia is going to ask me.
“Bella? That’s cute.” Christopher says, taking a bite of his food.
“I guess.” I shrug.
“So are you gonna be friends?” Alecia questions me and I look up at her.
“I don’t think so.” I shake my head.
“Awe, I thought we were really hitting it off looking at each other the way we have been.” I close my eyes right as her voice hits my ears.
My breath hitched.
“I didn’t mean that we didn’t I just didn’t think you were for real earlier this morning.” I explain myself anxiously.
“I was. Maybe we could be even more.” She smiles after whispering the last part, sitting down beside me.
“Hey, I’m Bella, which you’ve already heard.” She introduces herself acting as if she didn’t say what she just did.
“I’m Alecia, this is Chris.” My best friend replies with a huge grin her eyes wide on me as I sit there tensed up.
“Beautiful name.” The girl tells Alecia, who is obviously starstruck. “Oh, thank you.”
“So, where are you from, Bella?” Chris messes with his food as he talks. “Forks, Washington. Small small town.” She answers and I feel her eyes on me.
“Oh wow, that’s a gloomy place like us. You enjoy that type of weather or something?” Alecia doesn’t even touch her food, more interested in this new girl.
“Not really, my foster parents on the other hand do. A lot.” She chuckles. “Oh cool.”
“I guess you can say that. But [Name] you haven’t talked much, don’t you have some questions for me?” She turns to me and I glance up at her then back down at the table. “Hm, I don’t think so.” I shrug my shoulders to which she smiles, looking down at my phone then back at me.
“Cute case.” She compliments my phone.
“Thank you.” I mutter out, suddenly feeling nervous.
“You should give me your number. I do want to be friends.” She brings out her phone and my eyes widen, I look over to Alecia and Chris who are grinning like Cheshire cats.
I look back to her and open my phone, going to the contacts app. “Um, sure.” I take her phone and type in my number as she does the same with mine. I just put my name in like normal with a smiley face.
I place it down and then she hands me mine back with her name as Bella with a “<3” next to it.
I turn my phone off and put it in my pocket.
“I should get back to my family. Nice meeting you two. I’ll text you [Name].” She waves to them then before she goes she winks at me.
I watch her walk away with a confused expression as Alecia was already starting to freak out.
“Okay normally, I don’t feed into Cia’s delusions but she definitely has a thing for you, [Name].” Christopher whispers to me and I furrow my eyebrows.
“I wouldn’t go there.” I shake my head.
“I mean it’s pretty obvious. She’s been trying to talk to you all week.” Alecia points out. “We don’t even know if she’s into women she could just be messing with me.” I disagree with them.
“I- Really?- [Name], look at her.” Christopher stutters out, all three of us look over at Bella just to see her and the one guy she’s always with, Edward I think his name is, staring at us.
“Damn, we got caught.” Alecia laughs and I hide my face in the sleeves of my sweater, putting my head down.
“That was so embarrassing.” I quietly cry out.
“A little bit but she was smiling, definitely already talking about you.” Christopher informs me, still observing the fostered family in front of them.
I would have to turn my body to look at them. Which I did and of course they were already looking. But now that I know that I feel more self-conscious, sitting up straighter.
At the end of lunch, I had to go to my locker to grab a paper I forgot for my next class.
“See you at the mall right?” Alecia asks, leaning against the locker beside me.
We don’t have anymore classes together, she leaves after lunch.
She says it’s to hang out with both Chris and I but I know it’s just for Chris.
She’s had a thing for him for years just never had the confidence to say it. Christopher doesn’t talk about anything so I wouldn’t know how he feels.
“Yeah, want me to ask Chris to come?” I smirk, she rolls her eyes mumbling to tell me to shut up.
“So that’s a yes?” She nods her head and then flips me off, walking away.
I snicker to myself quietly right as someone else walks up to me.
“Came back to apologize for flipping me off?” I ask with a shit-eating grin on my face, slamming my locker after finding my paper only to see Bella with a surprised expression.
“I would never do that to you.” She places a hand on her heart and I feel my face heat up.
“Sorry, that was for Alecia.” I tense up, feeling my heart beat extremely fast.
“It’s no problem, hun.” Her voice rasps and I felt my knees buckle a little bit.
“So, I was thinking maybe we could see a movie?” She tucks her hands into her jean pockets. I glance around, not expecting that question out of everything.
“Me?” Her eyebrows furrow.
“What do you mean, you? I’m only talking to you.” She says.
“Right, you want me to bring Alecia or Chris too?” I don’t believe she’s actually trying to be just my friend.
There has to be some sort of catch.
“I would’ve asked if I wanted them to come too. But I just wanted it to be us.” She gives me a toothy smile. My breath hitches.
“As a date.” She adds in and I freeze up.
“A date?” The final bell rings and I scramble with all the things in my hand.
“I uh, I have to get to class.” I try to start walking but her hand catches my wrist, stopping me.
The coldness of her hand rushes to my spine and I shiver.
She instantly pulls her hand back.
“Sorry, just forget I asked.” She chuckles, she looks like she’s going to say something else but instead she walks away.
And as I watch her I begin to feel incredibly bad. It’s not that I wouldn’t go on the date.
I just don’t like having the spotlight on me.
As I want to go chase after her, I notice the hall being empty and I rush to my classroom.
Later in the day at home I get dressed to go out with Alecia. Still thinking about what happened during and after lunch. Continuously clicking on Bella’s contact on my phone but only to turn it off and try to ignore my phone exists.
Another week passes and Bella hasn’t really tried coming up to me. I’ve told Alecia about everything and she’s been practically bullying me for not apologizing by now. But I don’t know what’s stopping me and I’m scared to be rejected back.
I think I really do like her?
I’ve barely even talked to her but she makes me so nervous though.
Throughout the day, this time I’ve been staring at Bella.
Watching out for her and trying to get the confidence to say something.
I go on my phone and click on her contact again. Then pressing the message button, staring at the keypad I think of what to say.
As I’m trying to type something out, someone takes my phone in a swift motion and I gasp, going to take it back but then seeing Bella’s face.
“Hey.” She smiles, waving the phone around.
“Hey.” I breathily let out, feeling as if the air in my body just got squeezed out.
“Awe you were about to text me?” She looks down at the screen of my device. My face heats up and I glance at the ground.
“I felt bad.” I take my phone back.
“That you were going to reject me?” She tilts her head and my eyes widen.
“I wasn’t going to reject you.” I denied it.
“You weren’t?” She crosses her arms. My heart thumps loudly, now hearing it in my head and I start to sweat a little bit.
“No, I just,” I close my eyes trying to find the right words. “You put me on the spot and I freaked.” I pick at the dead skin on my lips as I finished talking. Nervously watching her as she is quiet.
“You like me?” She breaks out into a big smile.
“Bella.” I make a straight face and she laughs. “You like me.” She laughs, teasing me now and poking my side.
“Not if you keep doing that.” I push her hand away.

A. Matthews - Para Siempre

Auston Matthews x Reader
Requested✨
Word Count: 3.7k
Warning(s): None?
Spanish Translations, in order of occurrence;
Por siempre y para siempre - forever and always
mamá ahora no - mom not now
Puedes proponer - you can propose
No en tu playa sexual - not at your sex beach
—————————————
“When your father proposed to me…”
Auston hadn’t been expecting the story of the century. Meaning, that his mother took as long as a century to tell it.
“It was extravagant!”
Auston had planned to propose in Arizona. When he invited Hudson and I home with him, I was only under the influence that I was going to meet his parents and enjoy a short vacation. Nothing more.
I also had little to no suspicion of any ulterior motive when he asked me to go to the store and get a few groceries for dinner. And I certainly didn’t expect anything when Hudson bounced along with me. Though perhaps I should have. Because Hudson hated grocery shopping.
“He had flowers everywhere! Oh and Auston- the ring!” Ema spoke as if Auston hadn’t seen it millions of times. His own mother’s engagement ring. Of course he knew what it looked like. “It has to be something she’ll love. Something that makes sense for her.” Dainty and beautiful. Sparkly. Auston stole a glance at his mother’s ring. Definitely not as big as hers. His lover wasn’t quite that extravagant. He already had the ring anyway. Stuffed away in an old hockey duffel in his closet. The safest place he thought to hide it.
“He took me out to one of the lake beaches way after dark, where we spent the night together.” Her brows lifted in a suggestive manner, and it caused all three of her kids to groan and whine in complaint.
Alexandria and Breyana only joined their brother and mother in the kitchen when they picked up on the marriage conversion. In true sisterly fashion, they wanted the details. As it turns out, they got too many unwanted details.
“That’s actually,” Ema set her glass of water down, “where you were conceived.” She pointed a finger at Alexandria.
“Mama!” The eldest daughter scolded for the lack of filter, while Auston snickered.
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s life. And yours was created on that beach. Right after your father proposed.” Breyana’s head fell into her hands. When their mother grew older, all three feared the things that may come from her mouth.
“Oh quit complaining.” Ema rolled her eyes.
“The proposal, mom.” Auston swiftly guided her back on track. “Please.”
“Right. Well.. we ate.. then swam for a bit, laid down.. and eventually he pulled this ring out. He never bothered to get on one knee- but we were already laying down, so I figured it was close enough. And he opened the ring box, and I just couldn’t contain my joy.” Ema hugged herself as a smile formed on her lips. “And do you know what he said?”
“What?” Alexandria pried.
“He said, Por siempre y para siempre. Forever and always.”
Forever and always.
Auston kept that in the back of his mind. He let it sit. He thought it over. He gave it a good mental discussion. Forever and always was a long time. He had no second thoughts when buying the ring, or talking to Hudson. But cold feet creeps up on everybody at least once when they consider making the lifelong commitment that is to another person.
Two people in Auston’s case.
When I returned from the store, the home was exactly as I had left it. Auston was arguing with Alexandria in the kitchen, while Breyana sat on the couch scrolling through her phone, a smile on her lips the second she heard Hudson shout her name.
“Welcome home, girlie.” Breyana spoke as she wrestled Hudson for a hug. The boy giggled and tried to push her away.
“Hey, Brey. I got these groceries Ema needed.” I held the bag up as I kicked my shoes off.
“In the kitchen. Just be careful. Auston woke one of Alex’s demons.”
Demons. I snorted.
“Got it.” I whisked away, down the hall to peek into the kitchen, having to hold in a laugh at the scene I’d walked into. Alexandria had a tight hold on a lock of Auston’s hair, pulling it taught while he whined and begged for mercy in a language I didn’t fully understand. Perhaps Alex did have a few demons. Ones that could only be provoked by the tedious presence of a baby brother.
“Hope I’m not interrupting any sibling bonding.” I piped up from the doorway, watching the way both startled and stumbled away from one another. Auston whipped around to look at me, cheeks flushed and lips pursed, while Alex kept her back turned. I knew however, that there was a good chance she was smiling to herself.
“I got groceries.” I walked into the kitchen to set them on the counter, a smile spreading across my face the moment Ema came through. Her hands fell upon my shoulders as she passed, a silent expression of thanks before she spoke.
“You should be resting, sweetheart.” Ema suggested as she grabbed one of the handles of the plastic grocery bag and dragged it toward herself. “You’re on vacation. Don’t let my son make you run errands.” She spoke as if she didn’t have a clue why he asked me to go.
“Mom!” Auston protested, though he quieted when he saw the look she shot him from the corner of her eye.
“You know what you need?” Ema asked.
“What could I possibly need?” I sighed out with a smirk.
“A day at the beach.” My brow furrowed in curiosity when I watched Ema eye Auston once again.
“Mamá ahora no.” Auston seemed to scold her.
“Puedes proponer!” I leaned back slightly when Ema gestured to me. Clearly the subject of the unknown conversation.
“No en tu playa sexual!” Auston’s rebuttal had his sister falling into a fit of laughter, and I became increasingly interested when I realized their conversation had to do with something intimate.
“What are you guys talking about?” I asked, smiling nervously.
“Nothing, honey. Auston was just asking about date ideas earlier and I told him the beach was a good one.”
“Scottsdale doesn’t border any oceans.” I mentioned, somewhat confused.
“Lakeside stuff.” Auston swiftly interjected, shrugging. “It’s nice on hot days.”
“We could go.” I looked up at him, watching as he crossed the kitchen to stand by my side.
“As much as I’d love to, my mother ruined that idea for me.”
“What? Why?” I felt his arms snake around my sides.
“It’s not worth explaining.” He took a step backwards, dragging me along with him.
“Where are you taking me?” I reached behind myself to rest my hand on the back of his neck. Auston’s chin immediately fell against my shoulder.
“To my room.” He spoke, as if it was obvious. “It’s the only place we get any privacy here.”
“Oh your family is not that bad.” I laughed softly, following his lead as Auston slowly walked me backwards to the kitchen doorway.
“They’re the worst.” He teased before he pulled away and grabbed my hand.
“Auston Taylour!” I watched his face light up at the sound of his mother’s shout, and in a flash he was dragging me up the steps at such a speed I thought he might pull my arm out of its socket.
“Jesus, Aus!”
There was one thing I had gotten incredibly comfortable with since we arrived at Auston’s childhood home. And it was leaving Hudson alone. There was always somebody he was with. Somebody to keep him company or entertain him. And the girls simply fawned over him. Auston and I had more time to spend together. A little time without having to constantly fret over the kid a few feet away.
By the time we made it safely into his room, Auston had pushed the door shut, both of us heaving for air while he tried to listen for his mother.
“She’s a follower when she’s angry.” He explained.
“You stress her out too much.” I laughed softly, dropping onto his unmade bed. A twin size that I learned barely fit him growing up. The two of us had found multiple odd ways to sleep on it since arriving in Arizona. Most of the time it was just one on top of the other. Though I learned immediately one night that supporting Auston’s weight was a life or death situation, because he was too heavy to breathe under.
“I’m her kid. It’s my job to stress her out.” Auston defended himself with a smile, turning to look at me. I rolled my eyes at him. A mutual silence overtook the room, eyes wandering. Minds wandering.
“What were you and your mother talking about down there?” I watched something shift in Auston’s expression.
“Do you wanna go on a date tomorrow?”
Forever and always.
There was no going back.
—————
What did forever and always even mean?
“I know you don’t like it Buddy.. just stick with me on this, okay?”
“When can I take it off?”
“After I propose to your mom.” Auston adjusted the bow tie on Hudson’s neck. His little button down and suspenders were nothing short of adorable. An outfit his mother helped pick out. Auston on the other hand, wore black slacks and a button down of his own, the first few buttons undone. Hudson found it unfair.
Forever and always.
Auston glanced at the ring box on the night stand. “Momma doesn’t know you’re proposing?”
“Nope. I asked her to fill the car with gas so we could get ready.” Auston explained.
“Is momma all dressed up?” He fidgeted with his tie while Auston grabbed the velvet box and slipped it into his pocket.
“I didn’t see her before she left. But I’m sure she’s beautiful.”
“What are you gonna say to her?” Hudson looked up at Auston, who adjusted his hair one last time before slipping his dress shoes on.
“Por siempre y para siempre.” Auston spoke, sure as he would ever be.
“What does that mean?”
“Forever and always.”
“What does that mean?” Hudson followed Auston out of the bedroom. The grownup now left trying to find an answer to a question he wasn’t sure how to respond to. Perhaps forever and always meant something different to everybody.
Auston decided not to answer as he walked down the steps, met with the sight of his family waiting patiently in the living room.
“Oh, oh it’s happening.” Ema stopped her pacing by the window when she caught sight of the two boys.
“Hudson you look so handsome!” Breyana cooed, causing a flush to take over the boy’s cheeks. Brian slowly stood from the couch, eyeing his son with a quizzical look before he smirked. He walked over and rested a hand on Auston’s shoulder.
“You’re gonna kill it, kid.” Brian glanced down at Hudson. “And the kid’s support is a pretty good sign.”
“Hey uh.. can I ask you a question?” Auston’s voice softened.
“Always.”
“What’s forever and always mean?”
Loving someone so much that you want to spend your life with them. Loving someone so much that it’s unconditional. Loving someone to the end of time, and loving them always.
When I pulled the car up to the front door, Auston had instructed me to switch seats. We shared a brief kiss as we passed around the hood of the car, and only when I got inside did I notice Hudson’s little outfit. I made a comment on it, but mistook his silence for displeasure. In reality, Hudson was too afraid of giving anything away. So he kept quiet for the whole drive, and it seemed Auston did as well.
Only when we arrived at the restaurant, and Hudson popped out of his car seat to open my door, did the boys start talking.
“You look so beautiful tonight.” Auston made his way around the car, offering his arm for me to hold onto as I climbed out, smiling at him before my gaze turned to little Hudson, holding my car door open like a butler.
“You boys look awful cute too.” I complimented playfully, stepping away from the car so Hudson could shut the door.
“Momma!” Hudson whined.
“Handsome.” I corrected, sharing a look with Auston. He pressed a kiss to my cheek, and I linked my arm with his own. My free hand came up to gently flick the small charm hanging from Auston’s earring.
“The leaves?” I asked softly. Knowingly.
“The leaves.” A pair he had well before we met. Initially bought because the silver hoops held dangling maple leaves that resembled the one on the jerseys his team wore.
“You wear those for luck.” I commented, allowing suspicion to raise in my tone. Auston didn’t respond right away, instead opting for a smile as he and Hudson led me toward the entrance of the restaurant.
“I might need it tonight.” When the words reached my ears, I finally decided to come to terms with the fact that something was going on.
The restaurant Auston chose was a homey little place more on the outskirts of the city. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, with outdoor seating to drink in one’s share of the view. I felt no surprise at all when Auston gave his name to the hostess, and she led us to possibly the best outside seat on the whole property. Hudson pulled my seat out for me, and I couldn’t help but feel like a Queen. The lines began to blur between who had taught Hudson better manners. Myself or the man sitting across from me, ordering my favorite wine from memory. And requesting an extra fancy glass for Hudson and the juice the boy ordered.
I immediately rested my elbows against the table, leaning forward and eyeing Auston through the orange flicker of the candle flame between us.
“You two are up to something.” I commented, my gaze falling to my son only momentarily. Hudson quickly looked away.
“We’re not up to anything. We just wanted to take you out.” Auston could lie all he wanted, but he wasn’t great at it. The guilty smile on his lips raised my suspicions more than Hudson opening my car door, wearing a bow tie, and pulling my seat out.
“You’re such a horrible liar, Aus.” I gently nudged his foot beneath the table.
“I am not!” His defensive attitude brought a quiet laugh from my lips. I felt his foot push my own away.
“Momma!” Hudson whined, “you gotta let it go.” He waved his hand dismissively at me, astonishment flashing across both mine and Auston’s faces.
“Well then,” I feigned offense, leaning back. “Suppose I will let it go then.” I folded my arms across my chest.
“Oh come on now.” Auston reached for me, but stopped short when the waitress came by with an opened bottle of wine, three glasses, and a bottle of orange juice.
“Just pour me a glass, Matthews.” I let him off the hook with a smirk, reaching for Hudson’s orange juice. I twisted the cap off and poured it into his own fancy glass, setting the half empty bottle aside and putting the cap back on. Auston busied himself with filling our own glasses, and I had no shame in watching the pools of honey in his eyes as the Arizona sunset lit up the warm dark undertones of his features.
When Auston handed my glass over, I was swift to take a sip, humming happily at the refreshing flavor.
“Perfect?” Auston quizzed.
“Better than perfect.” I assured, taking another sip.
“It’s magnificent.” Hudson chimed in after taking a gulp of his orange juice.
“That’s a big word for you, Hudsy.” Auston teased, and I watched Hudson giggle and stick his tongue out in return.
“Play nice, boys. You might have to live with each other one day.”
The banter between us always came with ease. Something I was always thankful for.
“Oh yeah,” Sarcasm immediately took over Hudson’s tone. “Pfft. Live with Auston. What a crazy idea.” My brow furrowed, amused and confused by his behavior. “Do you hear her?” Hudson looked toward my lover, with a look that practically said, ‘she’s a lunatic.’
“Just drink your orange juice, bud.” Auston scoffed, taking a sip from his own glass.
I wasn’t sure what signal I had missed, but I knew it was something. Hudson quickly relaxed after the exchange, and the topic of living together was long forgotten. We ordered and ate, I couldn’t remember how many times I thanked Auston for the dinner and the view. Hudson chimed in a few times asking for a thanks of his own. And I granted it with ease.
The boys had outdone themselves. I just hadn’t been able to figure out why until we were on the last leg of the large slice of chocolate cake Auston and I shared. Hudson had his own piece. I was dreading having to deal with his sugar rush on the way home.
“I didn’t know Arizona was so good at making ice cream.” I commented as I slipped a piece of the chocolate cake into my mouth, swiftly scooping a piece of vanilla ice cream off the plate to go with it.
“Guess they kinda have to. With all the warm weather.” Auston flashed me a toothy grin. We’d given each other far more fleeting looks and admirable glances than I cared to admit. I peered back down at the small chunk of cake left, losing myself in my thoughts before I heard Auston’s fork hit the glass. I looked back up. He licked his lips and reached for his napkin, wiping his spotless mouth. Tense. Anxious?
“Aus?”
“Oh.. oh!” Hudson kicked his feet excitedly the second Auston reached beneath the table. Hudson quickly clasped a hand over his mouth to stay quiet.
“Auston.” The use of his full name brought his eyes to my own, but in the slight darkness of the almost set sun, I could see him still shuffling beneath the table.
“Just trust me, okay?” Auston spoke quietly, leaning forward before his movement stopped.
“I always do.”
Forever and always.
It’s answering last minute calls for a woman who’s in desperate need of assistance. It’s being open minded to a situation you didn’t expect. It’s keeping an eye on that kid in the park, and offering the pretty mother your number. Forever was in sickness and in health. Taking care of a mother and her son when they’re both ill. It’s about still showing up to be a dad, even after that second round knock out takes the shit out of you. Always was in the way you still loved somebody, even at their worst. The way you still wanted what was best for a kid kicking screaming and crying. Teaching a kid when they’re stubborn, being patient with a woman when she’s learning to trust again.
Forever and always was about finding his forever, and sticking to it always.
Auston found it with one woman from the park, and her lively son.
A gasp fell from my lips when Auston stepped aside from the table and got down on one knee. His mother may have said his father didn’t, but Auston thought I deserved tradition and nothing less. I reached out to touch his shoulder, tears brimming both of our eyes, before he could even speak. And then he did.
“Por siempre y para siempre.”
“Aus,” he knew I didn’t understand. And I knew I didn’t have to tell him.
“Forever and always.” His voice quivered, the smile on his lips faltering only due to the exhaustion of his muscles. The tears in our eyes were of pure joy. The excitement written in our slightly quivering bodies.
“Will you marry me?” I finally shot out of my seat, launching myself forward into Auston’s arms. Somewhat kneeling to match his height. His arms wrapped so tightly around me that I thought for a moment I might snap in half.
“Absolutely! Auston yes! I’ll marry you.” Tears flowed freely down my cheeks as I pressed a hard kiss to his shoulder. I heard him let out a sound between a laugh and a sob. I even heard the soft sniffles from the boy still seated at our table.
Then it seemed, simultaneously, we both remembered the ring. Auston had to peel me from his body, and I cooed at the sight of wetness on his cheeks. Our hands almost collided as we tried to wipe the tracks of joyful tears off one another’s faces. Then Auston snatched my left hand, giving a quick squeeze before he lowered it toward his thigh. My face hurt from the smiling as Auston slipped the ring from the velvet box, then carefully placed it onto my ring finger. My heart stuttered.
“It’s so beautiful.” No words could describe how I felt, and I chose not to try to use them either. When our eyes met, my hands rested on Auston’s cheeks and I pulled him in for a kiss. The feeling of a ring on my finger was foreign, but welcomed. The kiss barely lasted long between our smiles and euphoric giggles of laughter.
“You make me so happy.” Auston whispered against my lips.
When I pulled away, I felt the weight of a tiny hand on my back. Peeking toward my side, I spotted Hudson with a sheepish smile and teary eyes.
“Oh honey.” I wiped his tears too.
“You’re happy, momma?”
“Oh I’m the happiest.” I promised. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted.” I glanced at Auston, reaching for his hand. He held my own with such tenderness, I felt like a piece of fine China. “This is my family right here. I couldn’t possibly be any happier.” I sniffed, shaking my head in disbelief. Hudson hugged me, and I felt my heart completely melt. “This is my perfect little family.” I clarified, more for Auston than anybody else. And it was my family. A little unconventional, but a family nonetheless. It was the one I wanted.
“Of course I’ll marry you.” I reiterated sternly.
Forever and always.

I'm back from vacation. I had a nice time in Arizona again.
I brought a few of my newer dolls to meet my mom's and my aunt's dolls, but both of them are not very much into their 18 inch dolls any longer. They've fully gotten into Barbie dolls. I can't blame them because they both grew up with Barbie and never stopped loving her, but I myself am not into those size dolls and so we don't have much in common like we used to.
The chosen ones at my aunt's house. She actually did love meeting my Australian girl Amy (second from the left) which I hoped she would, since she and my mom are half Australian. She's planning to buy her own Australian Girl doll very soon.
My mom's favorites are Raphaela and Amity. She liked them so much that she did show a bit of interest in bringing out the camper and her doll Melody to host a barbecue.
And it's always nice to reunite Léonie with her pen pal Taryn (my mom's doll).
It's nice being with my parents for Memorial Day weekend because we always go to the u-pick farm to pick our own peaches.
Even if I couldn't take home any peaches, I'd still pay good money for the privilege of visiting the orchard and picking a perfect peach off a tree and eating it right there. If you're looking for a way to instantly feel more connected to the universe and to all life on Earth, this is where you'll get that feeling.

Maya meets Andrew DeLuca (Maya x Carina Sweet Imagine)
Age Rating: 12+
Chapters: One of Three
Fandom: Station 19
Ship: Maya Bishop x Carina DeLuca
Canon Episode: Season 7 Episode 2
AN: Happy Pride guys! Here’s another Marina one shot, this one will be released all at once today so watch out for further posts.
Summary: Carina tells Andrew about Maya and asks him to meet her.
Words: 1209
April 2nd, 2020
Carina hands her heartbroken brother sitting on her couch in defeat a bottle of mineral water. Andrew groans but grabs the bottle.
“You know what’s the second thing I hate the most about this disease? It makes it hard for me to drink alcohol so I can forget the crappy day I had.” The doctors know that the antipsychotics Andrew takes will make the alcohol he drinks increase the side effects. He uncaps the bottle and chugs the bubbly desperate for some feeling of restitute.
Carina wants to comfort her brother with a hug but knows she can’t with a pandemic going on so she resolves this by sitting on the couch six feet away from him.
“And what’s the worst thing?”
Andrew inhales and exhales in agony, “That this fucking disease sabotaged the only good relationship I’ve been in…and like my father I let it and there’s nothing I can do to fix this. Amber made that more than clear tonight.”
“There’s no hope at all?”
“Nope. She said she doesn’t want to be with a man who hurt her repeatedly like her mom did with her dad.” Andrew’s face grows sorrowful, “When she compared us to her parents, I knew we were done for. We’re over, me and her we’re over.”
Carina shakes her head, “You are such an idiota.”
Andrew chuckles lightly, “Thanks, kick me while I’m down why don’t you.”
“No, I’m saying…look Amber saw you at your worst, the same way she did with her mom and her brother. I love you but you did do to her what our papa did to mama when he was suffering.”
Andrew sighs and sips his bottle as Carina continues, “But you got better, your better and she needs to see that, you need to show her. You can’t expect her to just take you back the first time you two talk in weeks. You need to show her that you are committed to being better, that you want her to trust you again because she feels safe enough to. She needs to see you at your best and if she still doesn’t trust you…then it’s her loss.”
Andrew looks at his sister in thought for a moment, “Since when did you become such a romantic? A year ago, if this happened you would have told me to move on and find a release with some leggy woman at a bar. What made you go all Dante Alighieri overnight?”
Carina grins and decides to tell her brother what has been happening in her life while he was spiraling and in treatment.
“I’m seeing someone.”
Andrew nods predicting this, “When did this happen?”
“Since January.” Her brother stops and looks at his sister with a shocked face that she sees and chuckles at, “What?”
“You’ve been seeing someone for four months and you’re just telling me this now?” He sounds more surprised than angry. His sister normally isn’t shy in flaunting her relationships in his face, it was most evident with Hunt and Arizona.
Carina explains, “It wasn’t exactly a good time to talk to you, no offense Andrea but you were not the easiest guy when you were manic.”
“You and Amber can agree to that.” Andrew points out bitterly but shakes it off, “So who is it? Is it someone from the hospital? Do I know this person and have to steer clear of the on-call rooms, so I don’t walk in on you two?”
“Ha-ha, it’s not a doctor or a nurse, it’s a firefighter.”
Andrew hmms in approval, “That’s new and interesting. Did you run into each other at the hospital? Were they dropping off a patient from the ambulance?”
Carina grins at the first time she ever saw Maya and explains the story to him, “Not exactly. She came by the hospital with a nose in a bag after running back from a bear attack scene in the woods.”
Andrew looks surprised by the story and takes a moment before giving his feedback, “And I thought me and Amber had a unique meet cute.”
Carina chuckles, “We met at the bar that night and one thing led to another and now we’re dating. And a few weeks ago we told each other I love you and even in the pandemic things are still going strong. In fact…she asked me to move in with her today and I said yes.”
Andrew looks at his sister with wide eyes and begins to chuckle. Carina looks at her brother worried as he gets hysterical and leans forward with his head in his hands smiling wide, and closing his eyes as he laughs like a hyena.
Carina worries her brother is having a mental breakdown again and asks him calmly, “Andrea?”
“I’m fine, I’m sorry.” He assures her as he laughs. He begins to calm down but is still smiling as he leans back on the couch. He exhales when he stops laughing with Carina looking less worried and more confused over her brother’s behavior.
He explains her silent question, “A year ago I was in a stable relationship with the woman I love while you were alone and now…I am here whining about my breakup in your apartment chugging mineral water and your about to move in with the first woman who made you fall in love. I mean it might be residual mania, but I find this irony hilarious.” Andrew chuckles lightly at the last word and sips his water.
Carina pats her brother’s knee in comfort, “I’m sorry.”
Andrew shakes his head, after everything his sister deserves to be happy more than anyone else, he knows. He rectifies his last words.
“Don’t be. Just because I’m miserable doesn’t mean you have to follow.” Carina nods, “I really am happy for you.” He sniffles, sits up and decides to move forward for his sister’s sake, “So when do I get to meet her? And more importantly what is her name?”
Carina smiles at her brother’s pestering, “Her name is Maya, she’s a fire captain at station 19 and she is…she is perfection.” Her brother grins genuinely happy his sister found someone to love amidst all this madness, “Now I told her you would meet her when you get better so…how is breakfast at our place this weekend? As long as we all have negative covid tests and you do not go all weird and interrogating to find some reason to hate her like you did all the other people I dated.”
Andrew scoffs amused, “You didn’t really date before this firefighter and the reason I was so judgey was because you went after my friends and exes. I don’t know Maya, she doesn’t live with me, she’s not my boss, and she got a commitment phobe like you to move in. I already love her.”
Carina chuckles in delight, “Great that didn’t take long. I’ll text you our place and you can meet her over French toast and coffee.”
“Great I can’t wait. It’s probably the first time this year I’m looking forward to something so thanks for this.” They clink their drinks and Carina drinks her water with a grin as she can already tell her brother will approve of Maya.

I really should update these but!!! These are my guys!!!
So I was an Undertale/CoDZ kid so AU's are a part of the inspiration (in the sense of I don't have to create a new character from scratch, I made Ari before I gave DmC a chance, and only made Zona after that fact).
Here comes a wall of text so have fun with that :))
Arizona - Small spring/Great Oak
Armani - Warrior
Ambrosi - Immortal
I liked the idea of having an alliterative name, and I like to keep my names for demons Italian/Latin due to works like The Divine Comedy, as well as the sheer amount of religious talk in the cultures.
Ari is a goofball, he likes to play and hop and frolic. He's protective of the people close to him. He only really causes mischief, and pranks. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, only cause them a small amount of inconvenience. If a joke goes too far, you'll often find that he's the first to jump in to help resolve the problem. He often steals pens from Dante, spare Devil Breakers from Nero, and tools from Nico. He's sweet, and he's kind, playful, and dumb. While his Demon Form is much stronger, he often uses it to help people feel better. He's a huge fluffy boi, and that makes it easy for others to calm down and feel safe around him.
Zona, however, is much colder. Yes, he wants humans to be free of such a, shall I say, abusive ruler in Mundus, but Zona used to be something of a feral Demon. (I can't personally decide if this part of his Backstory is that Vergil tamed the feral Zona, or if Zona was injured and became indebted to Vergil after the Nephilim helped him.) But he is Vergil's Right Hand Man, hanging just behind the blue Nephilim and waiting to do his boss's dirty work. He enjoys playing with the creatures Vergil needs dead, and the fact that Dante is Vergil's twin does NOT save the red Nephilim. Throughout the course of DmC: Devil May Cry, Zona is curt with Dante after Vergil invites him to help The Order, and is polite with Kat, Vergil's Right Hand Mystic. However, after the twins fight at the end of the game and Vergil disappears into his portal, Zona turned tail and ran off, meeting back up with Vergil after the events of Vergil's Downfall. At this point, Vergil has become the Demon King, and he formally appoints Zona as his Second In Command, his confidant. (ALSO ZONA IS SOOOOOOOOO GAY FOR VERGIL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️)
AAAAAAA THATS SO COOL!!!!! I LOVE HEARING DmC OCS ESPECIALLY BC THERES SO MUCH TO WORK WITH!!!!
ARI SEEMS LIKE A JOY TO BE AROUND I LOVE UR OCS DUDE…
this is my OG timeline Oc! her name is Asmara and she is Nero’s mom! (the quality is FUCKED BC TUMBLR HATES ME)
She’s a succubus and Vergils VERY ESTRANGED ex-gf.
She’s 400~ years old and from Indonesia. She was the firstborn of a king and queen in Indonesia, making her a princess. She is the oldest sibling and sister to 3 brothers.
She was turned into a succubus in her 20’s.
She was hiding in Fortuna when she met Vergil. At first they didn’t get along, but the two eventually begin to care for eachother as time goes on, which leads to them jumping into a relationship.
Vergil breaks it off because he thinks she’s weak and making him soft, and leaves her, telling her he never loved her. (He’s lying).
She’s forced to abandon Nero, as she’s being hunted down by the King Asmodeus, and since everyone in Fortuna fucking hated her, they told Nero how much of a whore his mother was.
Since she’s been turned succubus, she still technically has Human DNA, which is recessive to Vergil’s dominant genes, making Nero look almost nothing like her.
She is really kind and motherly, but more of a mama bear character. If you mess with her son, or her loved ones, she’s hunting you down.
Her weapon is a copper whip that is embedded with the spirits of her ancestors. She also has the ability to produce sparks from her palm (which are rather weak but become MUCH stronger when channeled through her whip)
She was eventually captured by Asmodeus and was trapped until (in my AU) Urizen killed him, which set her free. Not knowing who Urizen truly was, she ran away, not looking back, searching for her son.
Reuniting with everyone is definitely… an experience.
She keeps her distance with Vergil. She (unfortunately) still loves him but knows better than to fall for him a second time. They don’t go out of their way to interact, and every conversation they have is extremely awkward.
With Nero, she is a great mother, supportive and caring and just wants to make sure he’s happy, but she doesn’t seem to understand that it’s gonna take some time for him to process everything he’s going through.
She’s cool with Dante! She enjoys his quips and finds him funny.
She helps out at the orphanage and all the children call her “Mama Mara”. She is extremely proud of all of them and loves them all as if they were her own
now for my trainwreck; Ángel
(i never properly drew them lmfao)
Ángel is my DmC OC, and as their name suggests they are an angel!
Their full name is Virtue Ángel Amare de Pluma, but since Dante didn’t bother trying, it’s just Ángel.
(He still pronounces it as Angel, too)
Ángel is a Virtue angel, and their job specifically is to save the souls of every from Limbo City, since the demon menace has been cleansed. They are rather stubborn and close minded, and truly unknowing of the Human world, or what humans are forced to live through, making them come off as a huge bitch, but they truly do have only the best intentions in mind. Due to how they were raised as an angel, they view themselves above humans, and sees it as a simple fact, though they are kind to them, they are quick to cast out or judge those who aren’t believers. Their personal ‘pet project’ is saving Dante’s soul.
Dante, of course tells them to fuck off, but realizes that Ángel is really the only person who can somewhat relate to him.
Their relationship starts off really rocky. Imagine the Jehova’s Witness knocking at your door every 4 AM and telling you all your sins. Yeah.
Ángel finds Dante’s overall horniness abhorrent and repulsive. Dante keeps flirting with them because he finds it hilarious how flustered he’s able to make them. The two warm up to each other slowly. Ángel does become a more accepting of Dante’s nature even though they deny it vehemently, they refuse to have anyone believe that they enjoy his sin. And Dante learns more of what it is to be a Nephilim, and about being an angel. Like how everyone gets along in this universe; its mostly trauma dumping until the become friends.
Ángel’s relationship with Kat is much better! They are always kind to her and the two get close rather quickly. Ángel is always there to protect and support Kat, no matter what. Kat is actually the person to make Ángel realize the beauty, rather than responsibility, that humanity is.
all three end up in a poly relationship teehee

L for the character initial meme!
Thanks for the ask!
It's from this ask game.
Liberty Stiles - Liberty and her twin sister are the 13 year old children of noted Arizona-based superhero Talon. They've inherited the top shelf super-senses and super-pattern-recognition that he was given when he was genetically modified by the Trump administration in order to track immigrants and protesters. He is exactly who you think he is.
Liberty, on the other hand, barely knows who she herself is, because when you're trying to appease a father like that, your best bet is to be nonreactive and thoughtless in exactly the way your father expects you to be.
Nonetheless, since Talon "hasn't got around to having sons yet" following his divorce, he's trained his daughters in some of his skills, which means Libby and her sister regard tracking, hacking, surveilling and managing computer systems to be childsplay. Libby is a walking talking security breach.
She has also inherited a number of chronic health problems stemming from her dad's super-healing mixing badly with her moms wholly ordinary genes. She bounces back from chemo like other people bounce back from a cold, but it still sucks. Her many stays at Coldwater hospital have given her a somewhat broader worldview than her dad would prefer.
Likes: Telenovelas, glitter, breakfast food, sarcasm, researching natural disasters
Dislikes: toxic positivity, school, cancer, being separated from her sister
Libby is a secondary character from the Second Sentinels series, including Secondhand Origin Stories, Names in Their Blood (which are both in my pinned post), and the 3rd book which I'm tentatively calling Brittle Idols.

the first chapter of my book that has no name yet
*This is a work in progress, I have the second chapter made already and I would love to know if I should release this chapter by chapter. Also I would love book name suggestions, email at bottom.*
Chapter 1
“This is freaky.”
“So raids killing people is supposed to be justified because you're rich? God, our country is falling apart,” Marley Miller’s mom said. “This is why I don’t want you kids playing outside away from home, because I can just feel like something horrible is going to happen to you two.”
Marley's concerned mother was talking about a news broadcast she was listening to on the radio. Gary Springfield just kept a mass murderer and tyrant out of prison. Again. Gary Springfield was also running for president. How terrible could life in America get any worse than this? The raids. The raids Gary was justifying and essentially encouraging. A raid in Portland, Oregon was currently being covered by a news channel before their helicopter was shot down. Does that count as a crime? Not here, it was called ‘crossfire’. Same for the raid that happened in Illinois two or so weeks ago when it ended up killing the senator.
“Mrs Miller, we promise everything will be fine when you let us go to Twin Totems.” Lila Jackson said.
“We promise, Mom.” Marley Chimed in.
“Well, I don't know, I'm supposed to be taking care of Lila until her mom gets better
and-”
“Mom. It’ll be fine. We swear.”
“We swear Mrs. Miller.”
“It’ll be like a memory we’ll tell people,” Marley sipped his water. “Of how our mom let
us go and buy an Arizona Tea and some Hot Fries while raids were happening across the country.”
“That makes me sound like a horrible mother, but okay.”
Marley's mom was always easy to convince, but you had to get her something too.
“Get me some red lipstick too, I need it for Grandpa's funeral.”
Marley went still. He had forgotten about Granpa Fred’s funeral. He shook it off, though
he wouldn’t stop thinking about it for the rest of that day. He didn't know Grandpa Fred that well, but he would still go there, probably in that same loose Tuxedo Suit his dad got him when he was eleven and still fit because he doesn’t grow much. Oh, poor Marley being insecure about his height again.
“For sure, yep,” Marley said.
And just like that, his Moms Pruis was parked in their driveway and Lila and Marley were racing to grab a twenty from the Piggy Bank.
“Hey wait, I have a surprise,” Marley said, stopping.
He reached into his back pocket, pulled out his dad's wallet, and fished a five and ten dollar bill and four quarters.
Lila just looked at him.
“What?” Marley asked.
“That's not even like eighteen dollars,” Lila said. “And how is that a surprise?”
“Well, it's enough to get food and red lipstick.”
“Well…okay.”
Marley's Mom sat down with a bag of popcorn and turned on the TV, and guess what she turned on—the news on the raids. The Portland raid just ended, but not with many casualties. An estimated fifty thousand. One of the big things that ended up killing a lot of people was the collapse of the Wells Fargo building. He always thought that thing was humongous, and now it's rubble. Marley just stared. He wasn't watching the news, just looking. Barley took in the information that was being said. This was one of the only times Marley’s mom would let him watch something this catastrophic and horrible on the news because of his anxiety.
The first was the raid in Denver, Colorado back in 2021. One of the earliest of the string of raids carrying on today. It was odd he thought while watching it. He was confused and he felt tired for some reason. He remembered going to bed that night and then puking in the morning. He said he was just puking up his feelings and thoughts.
That's kind of how he felt now.
Lila appeared next to him with a light purple tank top on and carrying Marley’s black jansport bag. Marley pointed to the bag with a confused look and Lila nodded toward the basketball that was on the driveway. Marley nodded at her and started to put on his Converse, and Lila slid on her crocs.
“Hey when you come back make sure to feed Bear,” Marley's mom paused, clearly thinking about something. “Marley, baby, come here.”
When Marley’s mom started talking to him like that, it was something important. Marley nodded and started walking towards her as Lila walked out the door.
“Marley. For the love of god, I can’t lose you. I’ve lost your brother, your dad probably too…just be safe.” Tears were forming in Marley’s mom’s eyes.
“Do you want me to bring my pocket knife?” Marley asked. It wasn’t truly a question. Yes, she wanted him to.
“Please.” Marley’s mom said, wiping tears from her eyes and making that weird mouth- opening-thing-when-your-done-crying face. It was his brother's pocket knife, and it was almost like a protective charm even though it was in his brother's back pocket when his ribs and head were walloped in when he got hit by that car. More on that later. Anyways, Marley put it in his right front pants pocket and walked out the door. Lila was shooting hoops and everything just seemed normal and how it always is. The only thing different is, that it was a scorcher! God was it hot - and call them wussies or anything, but 91 degrees is pretty hot, especially for Washington.
“Sheesh, I’m already breaking a sweat,” Marley wiped some sweat off his forehead. “How ‘bout you?”
“Oh, I’m living the dream,” Lila remarked.
They walked. They walked and talked and laughed, they talked about how they both hated their sixth-grade math teacher, how that TikTok they watched when they were coming home from the mall today was super funny, how they were going to spend their money, how stupid Gary Springfield is.
All was well until they passed Tseelsub court.
“Five years?” Lila asked.
“Five,” Marley said.
It had been five years since he had last seen his brother. Five. This is where he died. From what they think happened, is that he was walking over to the woods and ended up getting hit by drunk driver Terry Barlowe. God was he sorry. He just ended up breaking his nose while he killed somebody's kid. Teddy Miller was a great kid too, it wasn’t some just ‘somebody’ as Marley said to his mom when he found out the news. This was also terrible that he said that, but it was just out of fear and grief.
Teddy Miller was found with fourteen broken ribs, a punctured lung, compound fractures in his right leg and left arm, a broken pelvis, a brain bleed, a broken nose (so broken it flew off and was found mangled a couple of feet away from him) a dislocated jaw, and missing half his hand. That's what eight-year-old Marley was being told along with his dad and mom by some random doctor. They offered to see the body and that was just rough. They all went, Mom hesitant and sobbing, Dad just looked gone, and Marley was just out of it. Like out of his body.
It was way worse than hearing the injury list, but kind of relieving. His jaw was split down the middle and essentially falling off, his nose was gone, and the bone was just all broken and mangled. His right hand was just ripped off, the bones of each finger still visible. His right leg was just messed up. At the knee was his femur bone that was snapped sticking out of his thigh, and blood was still trickling out of the gash. His right arm was the most normal-looking one if you just didn’t look at his humerus stuck out of his shoulder. And his head. His skull was split open, and folded in on itself. Bits of his brain were clinging on for dear life, finding none.
Terry Barlowe was crying with his nose bandaged, saying he wouldn’t drink another beer in his life, wouldn’t take another shot, or do any more drugs. He would stay clean.
It was the opposite for Marley's dad. He started drinking so much he would trip over the doorstep and throw up, then fall asleep in his pool of vomit. Then he’d repeat, wake up in the middle of the night, walk out with his keys, and take some more money out of their savings, forget to feed Bear. Walk out the door and disappear. That is what Marley wanted to do for the few weeks after Teddy's death. He would just sleep. His mom would cry. And his dad would be taking shots and some crap bar in Shelton.
“He’s dead. There’s nothing we can do to make him undead. And I’m okay with that.” Marley said.
“Well, that's good,” Lila said. “My mom has stage four bone cancer and I know she might die. I don’t know if I’m okay with that, but uh…yeah.”
They both paused their walking, their grieving, they just stared at the trees. The trees were swaying in the breeze and didn’t have a care in the world. Trees are weird, man.
“Well, there's nothing hooping can’t fix,” Lila said.
They cut through the tiny gate to the park since they were right there and made it to the blacktop and started hooping.
Lila was a strong athletic proud Indian girl who loves sports of all kinds, which includes but not limited to:
STUFF LILA IS GOOD AT
Kicking absolute butt in track meets
Softball
Baseball
Indoor kickball
Climbing trees
Getting in school fights and winning all of them
Being cool
Dodging school work
Dodging school work was her all-time favorite though she wasn’t very good at it. But as she racked up those missing assignments and did that test and worksheet now and then, she would say,
“C’s get degrees.”
That was her motto, and that's what she lived by. That was her role model, that sentence.
Marley was the kid who was friends with everybody, barely thought about sports, and treated them as an afterthought. He was the kid who worried about his height and what clothes he would wear, got into the occasional fight, and won like one time with words. And as a proud Skokmish Native American with a little bit of Mexican in him and white. He was also terrible at basketball. But he was good at writing and got his schoolwork done.
These are his favorite sports and whatever he does.
SPORTS AND WHATEVER
Listening to Alex G and the occasional TV Girl
Dodging reading IT for some reason
Making those resin mini foods quickly
Forgetting about Animal Crossing
Forgetting he had a bowl cut for two years
Forgetting he had a side part for a year
Eating Shin Ramen and Doritos almost every day
Being allergic to bees
Hating watermelon
Playing The Last Of Us too much
Breathing
That was also his routine too kinda, just in a different order each day. His favorite was forgetting he had a bowl cut during 2020.
Anyways, back to Lila, she has super wavy hair, which was in one of three hairstyles - in a ponytail, a bun, or a ponytail with a little bit of hair to the side of her. Today was a ponytail. She had a light purple tank top and a rad scar she got when she fell on a really big nail when she was ten. Now it's a rad gash by her shoulder. She was wearing light blue jean shorts too. She looked a lot like Dina from The Last Of Us Part II, she said herself.
Marley on the other hand had a wavy wolf-cut-looking hair-do that was at medium length and slightly covered his eyes. He paid expert attention to his hair, hair mask, hair oils, good shampoo, and conditioner. He also paid really good attention to his teeth, since he had braces on and didn’t want to look like what his mother called, ‘An orge with white sports in his teeth.’ He also had some seriously wild arm acne that paired well with the moles scattered around his arms and chest. Right now, he had a Terminator shirt on, Empire khaki shorts, super worn-out Converse that he should replace, and a pair of his dad's black footies.
“Why are you just standing there being all sad and whatever,” Lila said, shooting for two but bricked it.
“Well because I don’t want to be in brick town.”
Lila turned around and looked super offended, and laughed.
“Then let's see you make a shot, string bean.” Lila passed him the ball and Marley laughed, also going in for a two.
Good lord, he missed that shot. It hit the rim and bounced off hit a pillar and rolled into the grass.
“Oh my god,” Lila said to Marley, turning towards him. “I think you need to move to Brick City.”
They both stared at each other for a second, both of their jaws dropped. Then they started laughing. They laughed so hard they were doubled up on the grimy blacktop floor. They laughed so hard, they even started to gag.
“I do not know anyone other than you who can brick a shot that worse than you can,” Lila said.
“Well, I’m good at hitting bricks,” Marley replied.
“That is not a good thing.”
“Well, whatever. We’ve been in the shade long enough, let’s get back to walking or my Mom’s going to think we're dead.”
They walked out of the blacktop and back onto the sidewalk. They passed the light-vomit green-colored house with the mean dog, passed by the haunted trail, and stopped at the sign that said Skokomish Flats.
“Hey, maybe we should go to the boardwalk after this,” Lila said. “It’d be fun.”
“My mom would say no - like immediately,” Marley said.
“Well, we could try.”
“Sure,” Marley said. “Let's see if we survive first.”
“That’s a uh, wonderful start.”
They passed by the little river thing that was overgrown, and something smelled awful. Like a horrible, absolutely awful scent. Lila grimaced, and Marley looked to his right. There he saw the silhouette of something in a tree.
“What is that,” Marley asked.
“What is what, that smell?”
“No, that. That thing in the tree,” Marley started pointing at it. “That.”
“Oh god, I don’t know.”
“Well, let's just keep walking, it has already been like ten minutes.”
“Right.”
They continued walking down the sidewalk and decided to take the Salish Court Shortcut. It was just a walk down the street cut through the gate at the end of the court, walk to the end court connecting to it, and ended up at the casino parking lot which was right next to Twin Totems. Weirdly enough though, there were no cars on the road. And this gas station was on the highway.
“There are no cars.” Marley.
“Yeah, weird.”
“Well, let's get what we came here for.”
“Mhm.”
They walked on the hot asphalt parking lot over to the sidewalk and the entrance of Twin Totems. They stepped into Twin and were quickly greeted by one of the workers holding a shotgun, pointed at them.
“OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD - WERE, WERE NOT EVIL!” Marley screamed, not knowing what to say.
“Whatever he said!” Lila said.
“God dammit, what the hell are you two kids doing here?” The man with the shotgun asked.
“W-were just buying food,” Lila said. “Promise.”
“Be quick, then you two have to leave, it's not safe here,” he said, lowering his shotgun. “Do you guys even know what's going on?”
“No?” Marley said.
“They're here, Gary's army. They're just driving out, it's on the news already.”
“What?” Lila said.
“Look, up there.” The man pointed to the TV in the corner of the shop.
There, was a news crew and people reporting on the scene. They were a couple of seconds behind, because there were gunshots heard near where they were filming, and the sound of a helicopter was rising in the distance that couldn't be heard on the TV yet.
It happened in a split second almost. The sound of a gun went off. Boom. The news reporter fell backward, his head moving to his left, and the camera was splotched with the news reporter's blood. The entire gas station erupted into shrieks and screams. The news reported lay on the ground, coughing up blood. You could hear him barely make out the word ‘Nate’ before the rain of bullets they heard before were fired into the reporter's body, making him jitter like he was in the cold. The cameraman shrieked and tried to run, seeing his friend's body turn into bloody human Swiss cheese. He didn’t make it far though, with him being shot in the head. The sound of cars and trucks rushed by, and then he saw the fleet of cars moving that he was hearing on the TV. Then there were footsteps, and somebody picked up the camera. Was it somebody coming to help? No. It was a man in a clown mask picking up the camera.
“LONG LIVE GARY!” He said, throwing down the camera, and shooting it.
Lilas's normal human response was to grab what they needed and more and stuff it in Marley’s bag, grabbing his arm and running out of the store.
“What are you doing?” Marley said.
“Getting out of there!”
“We can't just leave them!”
“Yeah well, America is a free country and I can do what I want to escape a terrible situation!”
Then there was a boom. A loud one, causing Marley's ear to ring, and be thrown on the ground. He sat up, little bits of glass embedded in his face and legs, and cuts and scratches on his arm. He and Lila looked up, both beaten up and bloody, to see Twin Totems on fire, and in pieces. He stood up, looking in awe at the gas station he went to just a few days ago in flames and destroyed. His ears were still ringing, and he was just in his world. Then he felt a tug on his arm and turned over to Lila, equally confused and afraid, looking at him and motioning to the road.
They started to run, as fast as they could to the road, and another explosion went off, and this time it was one he could hear since he regained his hearing. People were standing on the roads, people getting out of their houses, and stopping their cars to look. There was a mini mushroom cloud where Twin Totems used to be ash was starting to fall, along with dirt and other things. Nobody noticed a pair of clearly displaced bloody kids running home.
They quickly jogged to the Salish Shortcut and made their way to the mini river trail.
The mini-river trail was pretty new to them, even to Marley who had been living on the reservation all his life and had been on almost every trail hundreds of times, he still didn’t know this one. Luckily there was a path through the trees and bushes. They stopped and took a breather.
“Crazy…crazy stuff adrenaline does, huh?” Marley said.
“Huh…?” Lila huffed.
“Never mind.”
“This is freaky.”
They stopped and thought, did they call the police? No, people were recording the explosion and probably called nine-nine-one. They were injured, sure. But no good reason to call. Not until they saw the bloody pairs of shoes in the trail ahead.
“Oh my god,” Lila said.
“I-I…gosh,” Marley paused. “These have to be Halloween decorations.”
“Halloween was nine months ago, Marley.”
“Well, then it’s just one of those weird pranks!” Marley shouted.
Marley knew that this was not some left-out Halloween decoration or some sick prank. This was somebody's bloody shoes.
“Oh my god, Marley,” Lila said, gasping as she pointed into the trees.
There, were five severed heads of people that had recently gone missing strung up in a tree.
Marley just stared and Lila screamed.
Also there in front of him were five headless and footless bodies strung in between trees.
Below them were words written in blood that read:
THIS TOWNS NEXT
“What-what do we do?” Marley said.
“Call nine one one, NOW,” Lila replied.
They indeed ended up calling nine-one-one on Marley's now super cracked phone. When they got there though, they were confused, very confused.
While getting patched up, an officer asked,
“So you know prank calls can result in a misdemeanor, right?”
“What do you mean?” Marley would reply.
“Well, it looks to us that there are no headless or footless bodies, no shoes with severed feet in them, and most importantly no five severed heads of Alex Johnson, Spencer Allen, Roy Joyce, Michelle Camp, and Austin Crowder.”
“What do you mean?”
“What we mean is there's nothing there. Gone, disappeared. Evaporated maybe?”
The bodies had disappeared.

Update on moving onto a boat.
I just watched Surfs up for maybe the second time in my life, and I think it's a highly underrated movie. if its not, I'm writing this in hopes I manifest more Surfs up appreciation in my life.
I think the movies animation is fricken beautiful ✨️✨️They drew so .uch inspiration from professional and novice surfers to get all the movements and stances correct, and they took footage of waves forming and crashing so they could get the most realistically animated waves they could, that coupled with the first hand testimonies of the surfers on how water acts I think they did a really beautiful job 🌊✨️
Does it pass the Bechdel test you may ask?
No. It does not. There are 2 women ( Edna Maverick, Lani Aliikai) and 1 little girl (Kate) in this story, and none of them talk to each other. The little girl does mention Lani, so it's known that they know each other, but they're never in the same scene.
Edna Maverick is Cody Mavericks (the main character) mom. A Rockhopper penguin whose species mates for life loses her husband to an orca whale right after her youngest son Cody is hatched. A single parent now raising 2 kids by herself, a young son hellbent on going against the grain and another son who bullies him for it in a community that shuns individuality. She's caught between wanting to be encouraging to her son while simultaneously not looking like an enabler to the rest of the town.
Cody Maverick is a young man with big ambitions stuck in a small town where community is the biggest priority. Although Cody works hard to hone his skills on his own he is labeled selfish and lazy by his brother and community for not volenteering all of his time for others. Despite being a social pariah. Abd the lCk of support from his family Cody doesn't let anyones disapproval of him dissuade him of his goals of being a great surfer.
I'm not going to do a review of every character, but I'll do one more as I find this character to be delightful and his wiki to be wild. 😁🐓
Chicken Joe!!! Hailing from Marion Ohio, Joe grew up surfing Lake Erie. In 2004, Joe found himself attending an online college course in Yuma, Arizona, and got an online associate degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix. He then moved back to Sheboygan in 2007, where he was picked up to be a surfer for the Tenth Annual Big Z Memorial Surf. (I didn't know he went to college or that college even exists in this universe until I read his wiki) Chicken Joe is the embodiment of the golden Retreiver best friend, just a guy happy doing his own thing 100% of them time and is stoked that you want to do them too. He's the kind of guy that will drive to pick you up from a scary situation if you gave him a snack once because he said he was hungry... how effective he'll be at saving you I don't know because he's not a very focused individual. he's got a heart of gold though and no one can tell me otherwise.
Surfs up is honestly a really nice feel-good movie about finding out why you love what you love and not letting others' perceptions of you get on the way of enjoying yourself. I feel like I need that message sometimes, and if anyone else can relate, I encourage you to watch Surfs Up im sure you'll have a good time.

“When we were younger, Cam said that he would take Jordan, Isaac, and I anywhere we wanted to go when we were all out of high school. We were gonna travel the world.” Liam says, breaking the silence, “What?” Theo asks, sitting up, “You asked me to tell you some stuff I remember from my childhood.” Liam explains, also sitting up “Right, I did.” Theo responds, “D’you have anything else?” he questions.
“Every break from school except for winter break and Thanksgiving break, after Cam got his driver's license. We would all pile into the car that David got him and go on a little road trip to Nevada, Arizona, or Oregon. It depended on where we had gone the last time.” Liam answers, “We- we would take some tents and a couple of sleeping bags, and, if it was nice enough, we would sleep outside under the stars.” he adds, smiling fondly at the memory.
“Anything else?” Theo inquires after a little while, “I’m thinking.” Liam responds.
“On one of the trips, Isaac left his shoes outside the tent he and Jordan were sharing, because he jumped in a lake we were nearby with them on, and his shoes got stolen. We had to go to a store and buy him some new ones.” Liam says, when he remembers another thing, “W-we also- whenever mom called to check in on us during the trips, Isaac and I would practically fall over each other to be the first to say hi.” Liam has a genuine smile on his face, “She always laughed at us when we did it, saying that we didn’t have to race to do stuff before the other.” he continues, laughing happily.
“Isaac and I were very competitive kids, always fighting to be the first one to get mom’s attention, or her help with our homework. Probably because we’re only two years apart, but still.” Liam states.
“Do you have any pictures from the trips?” Theo asks, “They seem like very nice memories, I would love to see some if you do.” he adds, “Yeah! Uh, yeah, I do.” Liam responds, “Give me one second?” he asks, Theo nods in response.
Liam rushes out of his room and grabs a box from the top of a closet. It’s labeled “The kids’ road trips” in red sharpie.
Liam sets the box on his bed and opens it. Theo eyes the box with a furrowed brow.
“We took a lot of pictures.” Liam explains, picking up a picture of he and Isaac at a campfire with smores in their hands, chocolate on their faces, and wet hair moved out of their eyes so they don’t get food in it. “This was the summer I re-learned to swim.” he says, “Re-learned?” Theo questions, “I don’t swim much, so I forgot.” Liam answers, “It’s also the summer Camden got swimmer’s ear.” he adds, “Really?” Theo asks, “Yeah, he swam too far down and mom had to help him put drops in his ear when we got back.” Liam responds, picking up another photo.
“This picture was taken while Jordan went to get more wood for the fire, when he got back he set the wood down quietly and snuck up behind me and Isaac scaring us by tapping on our shoulders.” he says, Theo laughs a little and grabs another photo, “What’s the story behind this one?” he asks.
“Oh!” Liam shouts, “Oh no, I didn’t know that one was in there!” he adds, taking it from the other, Theo’s interest obviously peaks, “Now you definitely have to tell me the story.” Theo states, “That was the summer before Cam left, I spent most of the time clinging on to him, I just- I wouldn’t let go of him. I knew that it would be the last trip of the year, because Jordan, Isaac and I promised to not go on another trip until he got back. This was the last photo we ever took with him. Even after we got back from the trip, I would ask to sleep in his room with him. It was like I knew something bad would happen, but I obviously couldn’t ask him to stay. It’s weird, because I was almost eight in this picture, he didn’t die till I was ten.” Liam explains, “Maybe it was some sort of intuition?” Theo says, “You think I’m psychic or something like that?” Liam questions, “Maybe.” Theo answers, shrugging. Liam rolls his eyes.
“Let’s move onto other photos, okay?” Liam asks, Theo nods.
“What about this one?” Theo inquires, holding up a picture of Camden and Jordan lifting Liam up while holding his hands. “Izzy took that one when we went to the store to get snacks on our way to grandma’s house. When I was younger I liked when people would swing me, but only Cam and JJ could lift me as high as I would like.” Liam answers, “That one isn’t really from a road trip with just us, but Cam, Jordy, Iz, and I were all in the same car, so I guess that’s why it ended up in this box.” he adds.
“Was it nice?” Theo questions, “Yeah, yeah it was.” Liam answers, “I miss these moments, but, Cam’s dead, Jordan, he’s doing his own thing at the police department, and Isaac, well, let’s just say we stopped arguing about who’s gonna get mom’s help and attention first. I know that he needed to leave, get this town in the past and everything, but… I wish he would’ve waited. Y’know?” he continues, “Yeah, I know what you mean.” Theo responds.
A silence falls across the room, the only sound being soft breathing coming from the two.
“I miss them.” Liam whispers, “What?” Theo questions.
“My family… I miss them. I know that they’re not really gone, well, except for Cam, but… I miss being a kid, and only worrying about when the next trip we are gonna go on is, n-not worrying if I’m gonna lose anymore friends, or family… I miss going around the mall on Camden’s shoulders because I get tired of walking. I miss being carried to my room after pretending to fall asleep in the car on the way home. I miss sleeping under the stars with my big brothers next to me, knowing that whatever happens they will always be there for me. I miss being a kid. I miss Cam. I miss Camden, Jordan, and Isaac laughing at the stupid jokes I make. I miss being told I’m gonna be okay after I fall off of my bike. I miss my brothers always being able to cheer me up no matter what. I miss getting stuffed animals from Cam on my birthday, stuffed animals that I still have no idea how he bought. I mi- I miss e-everything.” Liam responds, crying by the end.
“Liam,” Theo starts, pulling the younger one into a hug, “You’ll be fine, everything will be fine.” he continues, “Leave town.” Liam says, pulling away from the hug, “What?” Theo asks, “Leave town.” Liam repeats sternly, “No why?” the taller questions, “Because, everyone that I care about always ends up getting hurt or dead, I don’t want that to happen to you.” he explains, “And, as much as you leaving will hurt, you dying will hurt so much worse.” the younger adds, “I am not leaving, and nothing you say can make me. I am not running from my problems, Liam.” Theo says, “Besides, you just said me leaving will hurt you, and honestly, I don’t want to hurt you anymore than I already have.” he continues, pulling Liam back into a hug.
“I want Camden to come back.” Liam whispers, “I know you do, Li.” Theo responds, holding the younger closer, “I didn’t mean what I said, I don’t want you to leave… no matter how much it seems like I do.” Liam states, “I know. I’ll always know.” the taller says, “Good, you should know that.” Liam answers, Theo chuckles, “I’ll make sure I don’t forget then.” he responds, “Awesome, will you pick up the pictures?” Liam questions, “I want to sleep.” he adds, “Of course I will, you didn’t even have to ask.” Theo answers.
After Theo takes the box off of Liam’s bed and puts the pictures in it he goes to ask Jenna where to put it. “Stay?” Liam asks before the other leaves, “But the box?” Theo inquires, “Leave it, I’ll deal with it in the morning. Please, just stay?” the younger responds, “Okay, Liam.” Theo answers, “Good, lie down.” Liam says, pointing to the spot in front of him. Theo lies down wordlessly turned towards the younger and Liam moves closer to him.
“Thank you.” Liam says sleepily, “You’re welcome.” Theo responds.

Lucia who's like "no way is THAT WOMAN getting any of our family money" and isn't afraid to say that to Arizona's face because obviously she would never call Arizona Callie's wife or by her name, she'd always be "that woman". And I live for AU in which Lucia thinks Arizona is a gold digger on top of disliking their relationship because she's a homophobe
consider: lucia who sees the gay aspect as truly a lower concern. the main concern is that arizonas not from a particularly wealthy family and she has a lot of debt and therefore she’s a gold digger. and that’s lucia’s main concern. the homophobia is more incidental then anything.
and callie’s completely frustrated about it bc no one had any of these concerns about george and george made a tiny fraction of arizonas salary bc he was an intern and it concerned no one.
and arizona who sort of just bears it with a smile bc she knows she won’t change lucia’s mind but she doesn’t want to get in between callie and her mom.
let me also offer up one of my fave robbinses backstories: babs who came from a wealthy, upper class family but got almost completely disowned bc she married daniel who was seen as not suitable at all (raised by a single mother, at the time, a poor low level second lieutenant who would be shipped off and probably die, and certainly not the acceptable young man who had been selected for her) and disowned babs, who only really occasionally speaks to her younger sister, but also retained all of the manners that were drilled into her and passing all of that onto her children. so while arizona certainly did not grow up with any of that, she knows how to behave, which makes everything more frustrating for lucia bc arizona isn’t fazed by lucia setting elaborate place settings or trying to be rude about various things.

good things this week:
my BOY my GUY my MAN Joey Daccord had to step up and play two games for the Kraken this week and he did SO GOOD Y'ALL! it was unexpected on two levels, first that it would be him getting the callup instead of Driedger and second that he would actually get the start over Jones, and he made the absolute most of the opportunity—one of the postgame talking heads was a bit of an ass about the first one because he let in four, but Hakstol understood the circumstances (one extremely weird double bounce no goalie could have done anything about, two 6-on-5 situations our guys were not defending well) and sang his praises, and we won anyway. then the second one we lost in a shootout, but the only one he let in during regulation was a rebound off a killer initial save and then he went absolute beast mode in OT, just unbelievable. there's always gonna be a Mike Smith-shaped hole in my soul, but Daccord obviously idolized the guy when he was at Arizona State and plays so much like him that watching him really feels a little like coming home <3
really enjoyed this week's Ted Lasso ep, especially (spoiler warning) the part where Jamie sees Roy and Keeley leaving in two different directions and it's set up to make you think he's gonna go after Keeley to hit on her now that she's single again but instead HE GOES AFTER ROY to ineptly attempt empathy and hugs <333
listened to Debby Friday's debut album four times yesterday and three times so far today, I am so so so so into it
after some disappointing incidents with NHL pride nights, something cool happened with my local junior league team, the Thunderbirds—they didn't have an official pride night planned this season, so the fans just... made one happen themselves! the T-Birds have the only out gay player in the WHL, Luke Prokop, and EVERY SINGLE PLAYER used rainbow stick tape during warmups for this UNOFFICIAL pride night in support of their teammate, AND some of them kept the tape during the game. which, listen, I use Pride tape myself, but only on parts of the stick I don't have to handle the puck with, because real talk it is some crappy-ass tape, and any serious hockey player would know that just from touching it, so these guys were basically saying that supporting their teammate was more important to them than being good at hockey, and I just have a whole lot of feelings okay
Dallas has a goalie named Jake Oettinger whose nickname is Otter and he has lil cartoon otters painted on his goalie mask, which delighted both rocket bae and my mom (both big otter fans)
I started explaining what was going on during a Kraken game to Steph and she was like "I understood the goalie interference part" I'm so proud <3
I cut my hair and it feels very nice to not have all that shagginess on my neck
got two of the other Lammy-nominated anthologies from the library and they're both so impressive! (also both extremely different from each other and from Xenocultivars, doesn't really seem fair to compare us all tbh, but I guess that's just how it goes with awards)
rearranged my room to bring in a comfy chair and in the process found the fucking laptop I was 100% convinced must have gotten stuck in with rocket bae's stuff in storage because I had looked absolutely everywhere, including the place it actually was at least 3 times *eyeroll* but it has been found, hallelujah
made salted millionaire's shortbread and I'm gonna go bring some to a few local friends sometime this weekend, love sharing food with my people :)

Chris Alba's Backstory
a little something so that y'all get to know him better
Tw for suicide, various forms of child abuse and SH
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina; October 31st, 1990. Born first, right before his twin sister, making him the older one. Their parents, Gustavo Alba and Harriet Trent, decided to give the twins their father’s last name, while their mother chose their first names: Cassandra and Christine Alba. After their birth, the family lived in the city for about 8 years, their mother decided it would be a nice gift for the twins to get to know some of the American scenery, so the whole family flew to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon.
Ever the mischievous ones, the twins separated from their parents and crossed the safety line, trying to get a better view of the bottom. Some loose dirt that Christine was laying on broke off the edge, sending her down into the pit, but right before she fell, Cassandra grabbed her arm, “MA! PA!” Christine yelled from the top of her lungs, asking for help, while Cassie did her best to try and pull the other twin up from the ledge, though both of their grips were slipping.
Their parents were not fast enough, Cassie’s strength finally gave out and had to watch as Christine fell down, her screams and sounds of her bones cracking loud as she tumbled to the bottom of the Canyon. All of this, just as their parents arrived. Gustavo never recovered, he was devastated, and ended up committing suicide from being unable to cope with the immense grief that was losing one of his daughters, especially when the other one was a constant reminder of how she would look like if she was still here.
After Gustavo died, Harriet took Cassie with her, and moved to Huston, Texas, her hometown. Harriet blamed Cassandra for it all from the very beginning. To Harriet, Cassandra was a murderer, responsible for her husband’s and daughter’s death, Cassandra was nothing but a monster, and so, she treated her like one.
Cassie also blamed herself, always. From the moment she saw the look of sheer terror in Christine’s eyes as she fell down, Cassandra has done nothing but blame herself for it all, she killed her baby sister, daddy died because he was so sad, so sad because she killed her sister. Cassie also believes herself to be a monster, so not only she accepts her mother’s abuse as well deserved punishment for her actions, she also punishes herself through SH. Cassandra struggles with deep self loathing and depression for the rest of her life, her mother being neglectful and abusive, to the point where she would not care what her boyfriends would do to her child.
After a particular incident, Cassie fled at the age of 13. During this time, he also realized he might not be a girl after all. He was homeless for a couple of months, surviving on his own, wandering around the outskirts of the city. Mom never bothered to go looking for him, but locals notified the authorities of a homeless teen, and so, he was approached by the cops, and taken to an orphanage. “What’s your name?” the desk attendant asked him, to get him enlisted in the files of the establishment. He thought for a second, looking down at his hands. He closed them, clenching his fists, before looking up and answering: “Chris. My name is Chris Alba…”
Chris had told the social workers what his mother had done and allowed it to be done to him, so he was taken to foster care.
His foster parents lived in California, and they were as loving and as patient as could be, but Chris attempted suicide the night he turned 15. After coming out of the hospital and under close watch of his foster parents and doctors, Chris was able to somewhat recover. He found peace and coped through singing, and even though he took an extra few years to finish highschool, he was always thankful to his music teacher.
He became a senior in highschool at age 19, graduating at 20 years old. After graduating he disappeared from his foster parents' home, he didn't want to be a bother to anybody anymore, so he went through the country, singing on the streets and offering sexual favors for money. He wandered through the country aimlessly, drowning his sorrows in drunken casual sex in cheap motels. Until he decided he had enough, enough of life, enough of existing, so he made a plan.
His first goal was the home of his father and baby sister's graves, Huston, Texas.
He arrived on a rainy day, and spent most of his pocket money on a bouquet of red roses. He let rain pour down on him as he looked at the two graves, one next to the other, divided the bouquet in two. He sat in the middle, facing both graves and placed the flowers.
"I'll see you again soon, I promise"
He was certain he would, he was seeing them soon, he had to, he needed to.
Arrival to Ambrose

Hi!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!
I was wondering how reader met all of her friend from the only you chapter?
Hello Beautiful! Thank you so much. I appreciate the love ❤️
So without further ado here is how reader met her found family and a bit of info on them as well…
Texas Native but Detroit raised, Alex Kross and Y/N met through Phoebe actually.
Alex is a broadcast producer over at a division of the Freeform network in town!
And with Phoebe being a Hospitality Manager who caters to the requests of all her high clientele, they met on the set a pilot filming while Alex overseen parts of production and Phoebe was there catering to the needs of a ridiculous client ( that included finding a jar of exactly 362 day old pickle juice for the star's sandwich to be dipped in.)
They hit off in passing and connected over their Michigan roots.
She was invited to the annual girls night You, Phoebe, Beatrice, Alana had. Immediately she fit right in and the rest is history.
Alex is the unfiltered one of the group. Do not ask her opinion or advice on something because she will give you the uncut version. She will always act as a mirror to yourself.
Fun Fact: Alex is the second youngest of eight.
Alana Montgomery is a PR agent and heavy advocate for the sleep when you're dead lifestyle.
Born in the thriving hills of Bank-Head Atlanta, Alana comes from wealth but it was made very clear by her parents that they would not support the lifestyle she had grown up in and become accustom to after the age of eighteen since they wanted her to know what it was like to work for a fortune as they had.
With her knowing she couldn't live her lifestyle any other way, Alana through a finessed full ride reluctantly found herself attending Arizona State University. She was a Public Relations Major with a Fashion Merchandising Minor.
Upon her sophomore year of uni Alana was in the midst of a difficult English class and begrudgingly dragged her self to the on-campus writing center for help. There she would meet you, who at the time was a Communication Major with a English minor.
Although she was hard and cold at first during sessions, after more time spent together the two of you became friends and you soon introduced her to Phoebe who while skeptical at first, eventually welcomed her with open arms. Rest is history.
While most times Alana gives advice and encourages her friends in instances that may rub others the wrong way, she truly does love them and her intentions are pure..most times. Nonetheless though she’ll teach anyone how to treat themselves and never shys aways from a good time!
Fun Fact: Alana's god mother is Janet Jackson.
Beatrice Cortina hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico and is a Wedding Planner turned SAHM.
She met reader years ago when Beatrice was actually the wedding planner for Reader's older sister, Grace, during the time Beatrice and her husband lived in Texas where Grace currently resides.
They became fast friends after they spent a-lot of time together since reader was maid of honor.
After the wedding was over they exchanged info and remained good friends. And once Beatrice's husband advocated for the family of four to move to California for work, Beatrice immediately looked you up to reconnect.
Once you found each other, Beatrice was quickly introduced into the group as " Mother Bea" since she was the only mom friend and the rest is history.
Beatrice is the soft one of the group. If you need a softer kind of comfort or love, or just overall sunshine to cheer you up…she's your girl. She hates confrontation and will not raise her voice unless absolutely necessary because she is a love machine!
Fun Fact: Beatrice started a influencer page on TikTok about her life as a SAHM mom while caring for her children including her youngest son who has cerebral palsy. She has over 800k followers.
Beatrice’s nickname for you is mi muffin de durazano, which translates to my peach muffin.
You and Phoebe, who is a Hospitality Manager, met long ago on the playground of Milton Buck Elementary in the third grade after she was the new girl in class that you accidentally hit in the face with a kickball during recess.
From there in the nurse's office (as you’d been polite and escorted her to apologizing for your goliath strength a thousand times) over a pile of shared stale peppermints, a friendship bloomed.
You've seen each through middle school, highschool, and parts of college, and life. You lived apart after college for about three years when she decided to move to LA for work. Soon after you'd get a job offer at a publishing house in LA and when you moved, the two of you reunited and formed your found family.
Rest is History.
Phoebe has always been your rock, and you hers!
Fun Fact: Phoebe is a very talented artist and was once featured in local papers as a kid for her art.
——
So that’s the summary on Reader and her friends. The background on these ladies will be important for future stories…including You + Me = Us.
If you want let me know what you think of the found family!
Much love *hugs* 💚
