And it has helped me realize -#-The worst critic for my work has always been myself. Ok fuck. I know only post digital art but I just tried gouache for the first time and look at how cute this little motherfucker is.
#my art#LOOKATHIMHES JUST A LITTLE GUYYYYYY#I think it’s pretty good considering I haven’t picked up a physical paintbrush in probably what like#I’ll give it a solid five years (not exaggerating!)#someone insulted a painting I did as a kid and I just mentally blocked all forms of painting#but I did take an art class in highschool and make some shoddy acrylic paintings -w-#as far as physical media goes I’ve always been more into inks and pencils#only decided to try out goache because I hear the process is similar to how I do digital#starting with mid tones and then working in shadows and light#and the handfeel (???) the… traction…? feels a lot better than acrylic#and I’m REALLY into the textured look a dryer brush gives. I’ve always been bad at experimenting with digital brushes lol#I always think they look cool but I forget which ones are which -3-#why do I always write full essays in the tags… I just can’t stop myself.
