Its about foxxian who goes into heat and he spend his heat with dragonji. Foxxian got pregnant and the jiang keep asking who is the father. Apparently, foxxian doesn’t know who is it. Then, when he gave birth, 3 eggs came out. The jiangs are shock. And when the eggs were hatch, all of them are dragons. So the jiangs knew now that the one who impregnant foxxian is a dragon from Lan Clan.

9. Looking for a vampire WWX/Hunter LWJ fic, that started with LWJ kneeling for the marriage ceremony and being bit, then the rest after that involved LWJ trying to keep away from WWX for his own good before they both get together. LWJ stays human. I think I found it on AO3? @bcaugust

It's not the right one(though it is one of my favorites and really close to the same vibe.) I also remember that the vampire bite would scar to indicate a spouse, if that helps anyone.

So I'm looking for a fic that I can't find where I can't remember what exactly happened, but it goes something like this;

Lwj and Wwx are sleeping, Lwj gets a nightmare, and he doesn't tell Wwx about it, but he figures it out anyway and then Wwx waits to see whether Lwj will go back to sleep or have sex. They have rough sex in which Wwx specifically requests that he doesn't want to come. And then they talk (I think it was just outside on a porch or something?) And then Lwj fingers him and gets him off.

I'm sorry I don't remember more, I think it was one chapter and I'm really desperately trying to find this fic. If you could find it it would be much appreciated!!

15 sounds very familiar but I can't find the fic. If it helps, I think it's the one where YLLZ is walking around with a swirling mask of resentful energy all the time and never speaks, and Wen Qing is his voice. Everyone thinks WWX is dead

For 15, I don't THINK it's these, but have similar elements, so maybe, or at least interesting? I forget the name, but there's one fic where wwx and lz never met before the war, and wwx and the lans insist on an arranged marriage between him and a main clan member after the war (they live on burial mounds, not quite a sect kinda big household vibes) to kinda legitimize themselves to protect their people, thinking anyone sent by the clans to the "evil" yllz must be abused/not valued, so they'd actually be saving someone from a bad situation and into a married in name only respected guest situation. Only they get lz instead. Lxc is very worried for awhile thinking lz must be getting abused meanwhile yllz is a masked but perfect gentleman who proves to be a kind dedicated family leader/lord of the area and lz becomes sympathetic/supportive and ends up falling HARD for him and adores ayuan

there's also another one. Idk about a mask, but in it I think jgs? Tricks both wwx (backed by the bm wens) and the lans into thinking that each other are insisting on some sort of forced political marriage with each other, with the Jin being a "neutral party mediators" when actually the Jin are threatening and pressuring both sides into it/lying. Wwx lz and Co find out when they meet for first time on Jin grounds and unite against the jin.

there's also another fic featuring masks, where the yllz is more spooky unknown who always shows up wearing a full face? Silver mask, with the designs changing every now and then. You later find out that the identity of yllz is being shared between wwx, the wen siblings, and I think mxy? And this is during sunshot campaign after the sects asked for their help (tho they might of also offered it as a strategic move for themselves?)

16. ive been looking for a fic where for some reason wwx stays with the nie after the ssc. nmj threatens to cut off wwx's tongue if he does demonic cultivation but wwx just depresses his life away instead. jgy blocks letters from everyone so hes really isolated. eventually nhs brings him out of his shell and hes eventually allowed outside his rooms. Later, lxc comes to play clarity/rest, and in the training grounds wwx has a panic attack after being accused of cursing jyl and her second pregnancy whoch he hadnt even known about. Now that i think about it, it probably actually takes place after qiongqi pass.

follow up for the imprisoned in the nie fic, im fairly sure that in the summary, nhs is like "you used to be so confident and happy..."

17. Hi, can you help me find these fics? I've been going crazy! They were on ao3; I hope they haven't been deleted!

A) I think wwx was a ghost, & found himself at the Cloud Recesses in the aftermath of lwj's punishment. Lwj was in bad condition and almost died (a couple of times?) Eventually there was some sort of ritual to bring wwx back into a physical body, & he was in the adjoining room bc he was also very weak. (NB: this is not the fic where wwx is actually astral projecting from Baoshan Sanren's mountain, it's a different one).

B) Lwj stayed at the Burial Mounds, & his health was very poor, he kept getting very sick quite often. At one point there was an epidemic in Yiling; some of the Wens died, and then they went to go help in the town bc of their medical knowledge. Lwj had to stay separate bc of his fragile health; he had to tend the fields alone and he couldn't attend the funerals.

Hi, I messaged recently for help finding 2 fics, so naturally I finally find one of them again not 24 hours later 🙈 The one with Lan Zhan in poor health at the Burial Mounds/the epidemic situation is Over the Rotted Bridge by vailkagami! dark places by gillian flynn. this is one her pre gone girl novels iirc. it's gillian flynn. if you like her other ones you'll like this one. it's a little clunkier than her others but still pretty good.

disappearance at devil's rock by paul tremblay. i love the majority of his novels and short stories. i dont love paulbearer's club though. that one i didn't like. the rest thumbs up. also read a head full of ghosts by him which pairs GREAT if you precede it with we have always lived in the castle (shirley jackson).

the dinosaur artist by paige williams. i read a lot of science nonfiction because i love to get really mad. it's good! but you'll get mad.

the little friend by donna tartt. little friend a book about women by donna i was also shocked. stylistically similiar to the goldfinch. little miss 600 pages of doing fuck all as a plot. and i like this author i love her. NOT the secret history though.

Also I feel really bad that I couldnt get 5 for the first 3 categories, so pls dont take it personal if I forgot. Are there any actual good goldfinch fics. Cause so far i have read one that is actually good. And also remember reading a few back in 2019 but idk where those are now and like ive just been going through the tag and well that has been horrible its really bad out there its traumatizing almost. Found that one gem and then like a few cheap plastic ones but they were fine. This isnt the usual way i find fics i never go through a ship tag like this that way i get all this garbage filtered away, theres so many ways to find tk fics, i have more fics bookmarked and waiting than i will ever read. but for tgf i dont know or have any channels to find except ao3s tag system. Also that one good fic was by anonymous. Yeah. i am really sad about that because i cant read any more fics by this author. Also its not just a problem of finding good fics, ive been so spoiled by all these brilliant tk authors just as a result of sheer density i guess but im not sure good tgf fics like…exist? Ppl in this fandom seem to be either stranger things fans who joined for finn wolfhard or a certain breed i can not name for i shall be deemed a bigot and very offensive. I dont care though i just dont want to bring it up and tarnish the name of my beloved novel and its characters. People writing fics for this book but that are not worthy. Fandom people. Onlineness. Youngsters, possibly. I need sophisticated fanfiction for this ship and maybe also in general at this age i’m not sure. But also people who can write fic at all hello immerse me in the experience please? Seriously to go from like one of the biggest ships ever to this tiny dead 1 book fandom ship is like such a bummer. i actually personally curate the fics i post here, i find them either by chance or by using the filter algorithm on ao3 or even by exploring the author's other works and bookmarks when i really like a specific fic.

because of this, i dont really know of other blogs that i could recommend... i can point you to @dnfrecs and @dnf-fic-recs for example, they have a more organized system than mine for sure, and i think they answer asks with specific requests

either way, if you search on tumblr for "mcyt fic recs" youll probably easily find good blogs with nice tag systems

im sorry i cant help more but yeah thank you for the ask! i do this for fun but you made me feel like im not posting for the void lol

I use my likes as a bookmark function so I like personal posts to show people support and then unlike said posts a few days later so that's the context otherwise this might come off as more random. anyways. thinking of what you've said about toxic positivity and I have to say being in those circles, it does also get to the point where it feels like you cant even talk about the things you do like and why, because the mentality of just of "if you dont have the same views 1:1 to me then it's a personal attack" so it's more of a personal anecdote but those spaces are severely allergic to any serious discussion even if its positive criticism and analysis lmao

Listen I've got ADHD. "This might seem random but" is about how I start 90% of tangents.

As for the actual discussion, 500% yeah. While I mostly rant about toxic positivity cause it's most of what I deal with, toxic negativity can be just as prevalent. It's the main reason I even mentioned reddit in the tags of the post I think you're talking about. When the changes for the daily system in my current mmo came out, anyone who talked about the good things got accused of "forcing positivity" for the act of not making yet another post about how awful the bad parts of the system were (which they were but also the good parts were just as good as the had parts were bad. Its a fascinating duality)

But honestly go onto any internet connected multiplayer game reddit after a change and you'll see what I'm talking about. Criticism skews towards hateful and positivity is accused of being forced.

I just find that small fandoms within tumblr tend towards being very insular groups that expect positivity. Like to the point where someone in my main mmo apologized for saying "hey do not buy this because charging $20+ for this is downright predatory" because it was "negativity." The act of letting people know a business is trying to steal money with a pretty cosmetic you'll never see for more than 3 seconds at a time being considered negativity in a fandom is insane to me, frankly.

Which if I wanted to argue a cause with nothing but anecdotes, I'd say it likely comes from the way criticism of big name fans within small fandoms will often be met with a response of "Ugh I don't need this negativity in my happy place" regardless of the context or validity.

At the same time tho I 100% know what you mean by pushback against positive criticism even within those same spaces that I find toxic positivity to be prevalent in. Just look at the fact that "im a hater" posts get so many notes. No post about a personal belief can be rb'd on tumblr without easily influenced people altering their personas to fit it here (see: the way funny bitchy posts between friends getting popular and resulting in being rude to strangers). Saying you like something thats (fandom) universally accepted to be bad can be grounds for mockery etc.

At the end of the day it does boil down to what you said at the end, people hate any serious discussion of their favorite media, regardless of whether it's positive or negative. And any variance from the (perceived) fandom universal belief will result in pushback of some kind.

Because of course Maria would become fascinated with someone who is living a very different life that she has a little window into now. Philip looks like Laurens – shapechangersinwinter Alexander Hamilton, Philip Hamilton, Shapeshifter AU, body horror Philip is curious and comes across a portrait of a person whose face he likes. His father is shaken up by it. This AU is so gorgeous and out there, like, shapeshifters who aren’t cute but actually really monstrous because limbs? Everywhere? Also shapeshifting is hard so disasters happen! See here for a thing Philip does that solid-form children don’t.

So Eliza figures she should have a pelt of her own. Selkieliza is good and horrifying! See also this fic about Seelie court Adrienne visiting Eliza, with a little hint as to how Angie is doing (not so well I just want her to be okay).

Snowballs - runawayforthesummer Theodosia Prevost Burr, Aaron Burr, Canon Era Ah, the classic “you should come inside and dry your clothes” scheme! Very clever, Theodosia, very clever. This is really cute, Burr is completely in awe of Theo (as he should be!) and Theodosia is so radiant and knows exactly what she wants. Read the very sweet first kiss sequel as well! (and then I think of this post and I giggle)

Terror student Ham – the-everqueen Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Conservatory AU

Because Hamilton would absolutely be that student taking over the whole thing. I don’t know anything about classical music so I looked up all the pieces (?) while reading and it was so much fun! But yeah, poor Washington, he does not need this in his life.

Oh are we talking about AO3 vs Tumblr? Here we goooo

-censorship is not a thing on AO3, any tags you want to use, not only can you use them, you SHOULD use them, its important for both those that want to find your fic and those that want to avoid your fic, its like a consent thing, people cant fully consent to the stuff in your fic if its incorrectly tagged

-theres multiple ways to keep track of a fic. Bookmarks, subscriptions, the history and "mark for later" features, or just hoarding the links if you dont want any of that

-when you've written and posted multiple fics its easy to keep track of interaction, I personally like to keep all the comments on my fics unmarked in my inbox (you can mark and unmark whenever you want as much as you want, its not permanent) along with the author replies to my own comments on fics, right now my inbox is 794 comments big. Outside of the inbox there's also the statistics page for all of your fics both individually and together, where you can see the number of views (hits), comments, bookmarks, subscriptions, and likes (kudos)

-on Tumblr if you have a multichapter fic you have to link each chapter together via editing, on AO3 you just have to add a chapter and its there, even if you don't mark it as a multichapter fic you can go back and change that whenever you want, you can also mark down the number of expected chapters, even if they're not posted, so it'll look like "4/18", or "4/?" From the reader side of things, navigating multichapter fics is pretty easy on AO3 (it can be easy on Tumblr too if each individual chapter is linked, but that's from extra effort on the writer's part), there's a drop down list so you can select a specific chapter and jump to that no matter where you are in the fic. When something old is updated and I need a refresher on what happened I go to the chapter before the latest update and reread that, then go to the next chapter to see the new stuff, its a good system

-a series is easy to keep together, when you're posting or editing theres an option to mark it as part of a series, where you either select from the series you've already made in a drop down list, or just type in the title of a new series and boom, that title is a new series. Very easy, no fussing over links, if you ever want to change the order of fics its very easy to do, you just go into the "series" page of your profile and there's a "reorder series" button up the top

-a Tumblr specific issue is that when you edit something, it wont affect any reblogs that had already happened, your typos can haunt you to the end of eternity. Obviously thats not a problem on AO3 (thank god, because I go back to fix things frequently)

-since AO3 isn't a social media site where the algorithms have full control and old things are pushed to the back of the line, the only way time can ever affect the popularity of your fic is if someone is going through the tag with it sorted by the date it was updated/posted, which is the default, yes, but not the only option. There is also a cultural issue of people from social media treating it like social media, where its "inappropriate" to comment on something old, which is absolutely ridiculous to me, but its not an entirely universal belief so you will still occasionally get comments on something that is 5+ years old

There's a lot more benefits to AO3, but I think these are the big ones for me

mdzs adaptations masterlist

look this is my first post on this account and I figured what better to make it about than my current obsession: modaozushi (or “the grandmaster of demonic cultivation” for all you english plebs out there I say as if I was not, in fact, one of those english plebs)

so I got into this fandom around mid-november-ish (as my ao3 bookmarks will clearly show you) and I have got to say: I am LOVING it

there’s just something about it that kinda latched onto me, and i doubt it’ll ever let go. and you know what? I’m okay with that.

so let’s b-b-break it down

from what I’ve gathered, mdzs is the favoured child of the threquel of Chinese novels written by mòxiãng tóngxiù (each standalone but they all seem to be set in the same/similar universe(s)). the other novels include the scum villains self saving system and heavenly officials blessing (both of which I ALSO have feelings about but this ain’t about them). from my understanding, mdzs is the most popular amongst the other two, and it’s pretty obvious. this bitch has SO MANY different adaptations attached to its name it’s unreal. and here is where our story begins…

let’s start of with the classic: the original novel.

so the novel. I’ve heard some pretty mixed reviews about the novel tbh, and I have admittedly not finished all of it (look okay it’s p long and I could be using that time for fanfic) but I’d say generally ppl like it. the plot seems reasonably solid, the characters are *chef’s kiss* (especially my son Lan wangji) and it’s overall a nice mix of Soul Crushing Angst and a slightly below comfort ratio. oh and it’s gay.

not bad.

the main complaints I’ve heard about it are, uh, some questionable consent scenes between the main characters (nothing too bad, but enough to rightfully piss ppl off, and pls watch out for it if it might trigger you).

other than that, I honestly dont hear the novel talked about too too often, but idk. I mean I liked the parts I’ve read.

the only thing I know about it if that it’s… a thing, and the art looks very nice (v similar to the donghua; we’ll get there)

Imma give it a 7.75 stars out of ten.

up next: the donghua

(donghua: basically a Chinese version of anime)

the donghua is actually the only adaptation I’m like semi-comfortable talking about (because I’ve actually watched the majority of it) and let me just say:

stunning

I believe it’s following the book canon fairly closely (don’t quote me on that) and it’s currently ongoing with two completed seasons and the third in the works. it’s all easily found on YouTube with English subs if you’re interested! (couldn’t find any dub)

I,,,,, actually love the donghua with all my heart ngl. the animation is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, I adore the voice actors, the character designs are so visually pleasing and it’s just 👌👌. ofc since this is a Chinese tv show there is some censorship (so I guess the main couple (being very gay) probably won’t explicity get together) but honestly? I ain’t even that mad. there’s plenty of undertone anyhow.

I just *clenches fist* love it so much. high HIGH recommend.

I’m giving it 9.5 stars out of 10

to conclude: the untamed/cgl verse

so if you’ve been lurking around the mdzs tag on tumblr, this is probably the one you’ve heard about the most. live action, with 50 episodes, all like in the 40 to 50 mins range, what’s not to like?

well. it diverges a lot from canon (new plot points, changing some stuff around, new OCs, the whole shebang) and it definitely is more heavily censored than the book is. some ppl like the divergences, some don’t. I like a couple of them (I liked how they gave more screentime to more minor characters, and I def liked my girl Lan Yi) and there were some I didn’t (let! Wei! wuxian! stay! on! the! dark! side! also what the fuck jgy). overall it’s more up to preference.

I did note a lot of ppl actually liked how it was more censored. since the censorship takes away most of the sexual side to their relationship, it also for rid of all the questionable consent scenes as well, and it let the viewer focus more on the romantic side of the main couple. although again never explicitly stated they get together, you can clearly see how deep their relationship goes and how much they mean together, romantic partners or not. I… really liked that.

ofc, the one thing that sorta bothered me was the things like the CGI and the wigs. this is more not picky, but I definitely felt the fighting in the donghua was much more badass and cool, whereas the cgl verse kept bugging me with all the… twirling and questionably cgi’d flips. idk, I guess maybe the producer didn’t have the biggest budget? it just kinda bothered me, but it took nothing away from the overall story

Imma give it 8.5 stars out of 10

vague notes :

there is also a translated manhua (Chinese equivalent to manga) adaptation and an audio drama adaptation! I have zero (0) knowledge about either of them, but they are a thing so… check them out? lol

fanfiction:

mdzs has pretty good fanfic on ao3. not the biggest fandom I’ve seen, but it does seem to be growing quite fast (at a rate I have only seen in fandoms like *pained cough* voltron or the umbrella academy) and it’s generally very good! I am thoroughly enjoying it. there’s a lot of gen as well as romance, and ofc my fav genre: gen romance (jk my fav genre is gen) but there really is something for everyone, a statement I do not say often. fanfiction.net does not have nearly enough (and is a pain to find) so I recommend endeavoring on ao3 if you’re interested
