Bedok Point is located in the town centre of Bedok along #NewUpperChangi Road and near to the Bedok MRT station. It was built on the former site of Changi and #Bedoktheatres Changi theatre was one of four #cinemas 🍿 in Bedok. The other three are Bedok 1 and 2, Princess, and Liwagu. The #Changi was originally a one-screen theatre 🎥 which was later converted to three screens. As a result, the halls were cramped and not very spacious. Changi #theatre closed in 1999 because of low attendance, as patrons began flocking to the better #cineplex in the city. #bedokpoint was the first air-conditioned mall to open in #bedok in 2010, having a soft opening in December that year. There are four floors and two basement levels in the mall. It opened on April 26, 2011. There are 76 specialty tenants in the mall, including Harvey Norman and restaurants and cafes. As well as food outlets 🍔 there are several retail and entertainment outlets. #Frasers #Centrepoint Trust has been working on proactive leasing and repositioning strategies to stabilize Bedok Point's performance for several years. After #bedokmall opened, more retail options were available within the mall's catchment area, thereby increasing competition. Tenants 🗣 say Bedok Point's poor foot traffic made #redevelopment inevitable because it is farther from the MRT station 🚉 and bus interchange than Bedok mall. Bedok Mall has a larger and more diverse #shopping mall with residential facilities above, and is closer to the #BedokMRT station and bus 🚌 interchange than Bedok Point. @bedokpoint used to be more popular in the past, but now it remains a challenge, especially with the Covid19 pandemic. Because of its size and lack of access to key transportation hubs, it had limited potential to become a dominant mall in #Bedoktowncenter According to Frasers #Property ,Bedok Point will soon become a mixed-use development 🏗 It was announced on July 1, 2021, that the mall would be demolished and redeveloped into a #residential development with ground-floor commercial units. 22112019. This afternoon, I brought the family to Bedok Mall for some food. We decided to try out @hongkongshengkeedessert, @B2 Bedok Mall , and ordered some food and dessert and one of which is the milk tea. The first dish came about 20mins which I dont understand why it took so long as there was no customer who ordered before me and the place was quite empty. Subsequently they served the milk tea and the rest of the desserts. As I took picture of the various dishes, I noticed that the base of the milk tea flask looked dark and I thought it was due to the milktea that I ordered. I was shocked when I tried to use my straw to scrap at the bottom and noticed that I was able to clean off some of the stains. To confirm my suspicions, I decided to use a chopstick and took a video of it. I was horrified by the the result! I checked with one of the staffs and she said it was probably due to the milk of the milktea.But after I showed her the video, she totally kept quiet and tried to walk away. I demanded to see the manager and she contactes the stand-in manager. When the manager came back, I showed him the video and he explained in Mandarin “可能定期清理没有清理好。”. This is totally unacceptable. This is a clear case of poor cleaning and poor hygiene. I cannot imagine how many other customers have drunk from the same dirty flask. The amount of dirt that have accumulated on the base is definitely not just a day or two but maybe weeks! Its a clear case of negligence and poor hygiene! While the manager was apologising, one of the staff quickly took down all the remaining cups and placed them into their cleaning basin and attempted the destroy the evidences by cleaning them with a white cloth. #NEA I hope that @hongkongshengkeedessert , @nea_sg and @bedokmall will seriously look into this matter!
