No. 6 Zine merch artists have been chosen!

We are pleased to announce that @ahikuboruchi, @arianwen44, @bedwithpills, @joichii, and @milkhorror will be designing merch for the No. 6 Zine. They are working on a variety of items for No. 6 fans to purchase, including buttons, stickers, postcards, and more. Items will be sold directly by us, as well as through Redbubble. All proceeds will benefit the anti-poverty organisation Action Aid, as voted for by our followers.

Merch designs will be revealed mid-June!

Welcome to this year’s free, digital, unofficial No. 6 convention: Reunion Will Con!

Look below the cut to find out how you can: win REAL prizes, promote your art/merch in our artist alley and dealer’s room, participate with art, writing, and (closet) cosplay/makeup, play fun games like Cards Against Humanity, and learn new facts about No. 6 and its (yes, still active) fandom!

We have not yet finalised the schedule, but all the events will be featured from the hours of 1PM EST to 6PM EST on Fri September 4, Sat Sept 5, Sun Sept 6, and Mon Sept 7 on our discord server (JOIN LINK HERE). The schedule will be released on tumblr and twitter at least 48 hours before the con starts. To get updates on this event, please follow @No6_RC on twitter and/or @restructuralcommittee on tumblr.

(You must be comfortable giving us your address to receive physical prizes. If you are not comfortable with it, we will give you a digital pdf copy of the 2019 No. 6 Zine instead of a physical prize. We DO ship overseas.)

RAFFLE – all persons present in the server on Sunday will be entered into a random drawing for a paper copy of this year’s No. 6 Zine, Myths and Legends of No. 6.

Writing sprint – the person who writes the most words in an hour and the person who wins the judges’ pick will receive 2 nezushi themed buttons drawn by Ahikuboruchi or bedwithpills, OR an Inukashi postcard (your choice!). (Short works like poetry are eligible to win the second prize.)

Art sprint – two people who win the judge’s pick for best theming and best design after a 1 hour drawing session will receive 2 nezushi themed buttons drawn by Ahikuboruchi or bedwithpills OR an Inukashi postcard (your choice!).

Cosplay contest – one person who wins the judge’s pick during our closet cosplay, cosplay, and makeup fashion show will win 2 nezushi themed buttons drawn by Ahikuboruch or bedwithpills, OR an Inukashi postcard (your choice!).

Our next spotlight focuses on @bedwithpills and @fucking-zawa-sensei (twitter/AO3)

Full comic summary: Over the years, Hizashi and Shouta’s friendship has grown from overexcited greetings met with grumbled responses, to nights passed huddled around Hizashi’s kotatsu, drawing up blueprints for his new support gear. Spending every day together was becoming the norm, but their last year at U.A. comes with newfound hardships, challenging them in ways they’ve never experienced before. An extended internship assignment sends Hizashi and Shouta to opposite sides of the city, and tests far more than just their hero skills. With a tremendous distance between them, they struggle to come to terms with the toll a hero’s life takes on their relationships and their minds. 

This team is in the teen age group, with a 15 page comic! Jay has also opted to do a short Q and A about her creative processes and what she likes about Erasermic, which can be found below!

Why do you like Erasermic? 

I love the dynamic between Shouta and Hizashi, how their personalities are so different, but compliment each other so well. Hizashi's exuberance is balanced out by Shouta's calm and steady nature, while Shouta's more muted playful side is boosted by Hizashi's energy. Spending half a lifetime with someone else means you must know every little nuance of their personality and habits and it makes for such a remarkable understanding between the two characters that I love to explore in creating and consuming erasermic content. 

What's your creative process for this project like?

We talked about what kinds of stories we prefer to read and what each of us felt were our strengths when it came to writing and drawing. I wrote up a concept based on our ideas, Mackerel read over that and offered a few additional story elements we could try out, and I incorporated that into our full script. Mackerel reviewed the script and gave feedback on it, looking at things from an artistic perspective, and is now in the sketching phase of the comic. 

What's your favorite thing to write/draw about? 

I love world building and have started writing a number of au fics. It is a lot of fun to place these characters in new situations and create from the ground up, really pouring all of your creativity into the universe and  your own lore. It definitely stretches those writing muscles. That being said, my favorite thing to write is definitely hurt/comfort. I am such a sucker for cuddles and care taking when I read fics or see art and I'm always happy to be able to add my own stories to that category.

Update on donations

So far, the No. 6 Zine has raised several hundred dollars for charity (yay!). We donated most of the money we made to Action Aid yesterday, but we can’t donate the rest of our funds until after we’ve sold more of our button stock. We’ll be posting a promo post showing the buttons and other currently available merch soon, but in the meantime, if you would like to support charity and purchase some buttons, you can head on over to the zine’s Etsy page. Christmas is coming up - maybe you have a No. 6 loving friend who might like some of Ahiku’s or bedwithpills’s limited edition buttons? A discount is available if you purchase all four.

Well the story is incomplete so I’ll leave it up to you to decide how it ends. Here is the au I had in mind:

Mer shiro - captured and put on display at an aquarium. ends up going through experimentation and ends up as mer kuro.

Mer keith - makes some weird deal to gain legs in search for shiro, (incomplete and he still has a lot of mermaid features). has an extreme dislike for humans. ends up meeting lance and is very charmed by his personality.

Aquarist lance - loves sea creatures, feels sympathetic for shiro and tries to cheer him up. notices keith and helps him try to save shiro

I had a bunch more doodles in mind but I kinda ran out of time.... more ideas included: shiro telling keith about the amusing human that is lance. lance introducing keith to human culture.

Anyways hope you enjoy the gift! I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas.

The RestructuralCommittee is hosting a No. 6 Zine and button giveaway, which is also a Valentine’s fanwork contest! Because Valentine’s Day is coming up, and because it’s important to the story of No. 6, the theme of the contest is “types of kisses”. For example: a good night kiss, a goodbye kiss, a reunion kiss, an accidental kiss, a soft kiss, a silly kiss... let your imagination run wild! Everyone who participates has a chance of winning a prize.

The prizes:

GRAND PRIZE: Anyone who creates a fanwork following the contest’s theme and submits it to the RC blog before midnight on Valentine’s Day 2019 will be entered into a grand prize drawing for our last remaining paper copy of the No. 6 Zine ( @no6zine ). The winner will be randomly selected. If you already own a paper copy of the No. 6 Zine, we will send you all four No. 6 Zine buttons instead and choose a second winner for the grand prize.

JUDGES’ CHOICE: We will be giving away a complete set of 4 No. 6 Zine buttons designed by Ahikuboruchi and Bedwithpills to the person whose fanwork we think best fits the theme. We’re looking for works with creativity and care put into them. The winner will be chosen by the members of the RestructuralCommittee.

What kind of fanworks qualify?

Anything! We’re including fanart, fanfictions, edits/gifs, cosplays, moodboards, amvs, etc. Kisses do NOT have to be on the lips. Most parts of the body are fine, although please keep your works “safe for work” or PG rated.

First, let us sincerely thank you for applying. Our team debated for hours over which applications would be best for the zine. Choosing from a large amount of applications was indeed very difficult because every one of you has amazing and admirable talent. Unfortunately, not all of the submissions seemed right for our specifications.

We have received some messages from anons stating that some of the rejected applicants would like feedback on their applications. We are willing to offer feedback as to why you were not accepted. Simply email us or DM us and we would be happy to speak with you.

The No.6 fandom is very small, and we value every single fan creator. It was really exciting to see how many people were interested in creating content for this fandom. Thank you again for your interest, and we encourage you to keep applying your talents to No.6 fanworks.
