Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files will launch for Switch on March 28, 2024 in the west, publisher Nicalis announced. It will be priced at $39.99 for the digital edition, $49.99 for the standard physical edition, and $59.99 for the special physical edition. Pre-orders are available now at Nicalis.

A collection of charming and eccentric adventure games that originated on the Nintendo DS platform, the Touch Detective series follows the adventures of Mackenzie, a rookie detective who attempts to solve local mysteries with the help of Funghi (her mushroom assistant). Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files includes all three mainline Touch Detective games, marking the first time that Touch Detective 3 will be localized and officially released in English. Nicalis also worked closely with Success and Beeworks (the game’s Japanese publisher and developer) to update the localizations of Touch Detective and Touch Detective 2½, restoring some small details from the original Japanese text that were lost when the games were originally released in English-speaking territories on Nintendo DS. In some cases, these changes actually introduce subtle clues that are intended to aid in Mackenzie’s investigations. Also, since the original releases used a second screen to display Mackenzie’s thoughts, these brief asides now appear as interludes superimposed over the main gameplay. This makes it easier to follow the story and ensures that players won’t miss any of her often humorous inner monologue.

Truly hate finding a comment section that has grouped up to talk about something they're not experts in, and then watch them all agree to the incorrect conclusion

Saw people today all agreeing that a group of beekeepers on YouTube were untrained

All because they've seen Texas Beeworks (zero I'll towards her. She's an amazing beekeeper, who knows her stuff) relocate bees without gear or stings.

Except the two beekeepers they were watching were moving AFRICANIZED HONEY BEES

So the entire comment section is saying things like

- They're so untrained look at all those pulled stingers

- They must not have used the calming smoke gas (bee smoke doesn't actually "calm" them, but ok)

- They're breaking apart the hive (You have to do that to reallocate a hive sometimes. It's part of the job)

Then, the comment section started arguing because no one knew that Africanized Honey Bees is the formal name for Killer Bees.

So they started arguing about how Africanized must be a racist name because no one knew that Killer Bees are a manmade mixed species between African and European Honey Bees, so they were named Africanized Honey Bees, because the more aggressive behavior was a hereditary trait from their African Honey Bee parents

Anyway I wish people didn't spout off about things they have no knowledge in online. I see this the most on nature and animal videos starring professionals.

The worst part though...

Whenever I see a video where someone involved is doing something very wrong and albeit dangerous, and is not a professional, the comment section is praising them

Nora says, “She’s been making deals ‘round here lately. Have you heard the Hexley leak yet?” 

“Yeah-” Eva says, “pretty damning stuff.”

“Literally.” Nora quips. 

The blue telephone wires suddenly curve around Nora, as though cutting Xi off from the rest of the group, before traveling through the rest of the panel. It speeds past where Dante stands in the right middle of the page and disappears into the phone lines above a large building in the bottom left panel.

The middle top panel shows only a round geometric shape of a wheel, like wires and nodes, or like twelve equally spaced sewing pins with round tops. All glows faintly blue against a dark navy background as a second, smaller circle, like the pupil of an eye, looks down toward the right middle of the page.

The top right panel of the page shows a medium close-up of Dante as she looks on in mild shock and awe, two faint blue lights reflected off of her eyes. She holds the umbrella against her chest. In the background outside the panel, there is another flash of Sir Puff Puff’s cat body as he darts behind the panels.

The middle right of the page shows Eva and Dante from the knees up as they stand free-floating from any panel, looking on as the telephone lines cause Dante’s braids to sway in the wind. With one hand, Dante holds onto her messenger back, and with the other, she slowly lowers the umbrella to her side. She says, “Think we found ground zero.”

We see Eva in profile as she looks to Dante, still mildly concerned. To the left side of the bottom left panel, Sir Puff Puff’s body contorts and disappears back behind the panels.

The bottom left panel shows a large strip-mall esque building of several stories. A sign out front displays the various shops and stores inside; the most prominent name at the top reading “FuzzBee”. The building itself is labeled with the sign, “beework”. There are blue lights on the security cameras mounted high up on nearby telephone poles, pointed towards the entrance, as well as on the peaks of telephone towers. The round geometric wheel from the top middle panel is seen in full above the entrance, and in the sky, the monochrome sun becomes the pupil of the giant blue eye in the sky staring down the protagonists.

In the foreground, we see all four from the back. Dante reaches a hand back to hand the umbrella off to Eva. Eva raises a hand to shield her eyes against the bright sun and Xi takes out a small blue device. Nora stands indifferent to the scene.

The bottom right panel shows Xi from the thighs up as he holds a blue-rimmed monocle to his eye, looking up at the celestial sight. Nora stands in the background with their hand on her chin, musing, “Makes sense.” Behind them, there are two blue points shining on nearby telephone poles.

“There’s been more disappearances, lately,” Nora says, “Lots of interns.”

In the white space between the bottom right and top right panels, we see Sir Puff Puff push down the top of the bottom right panel and peek his little kitty face out to look at the viewer.

a little corner of positivity: The Bee Lady

With the world getting very scary this year, I made this sideblog for several purposes: one of them being that I wanted to share things that I found positive

this was in the hopes that other people could enjoy them too - so that if anyone needs it, they can be reminded that there's still good in this world, we just have to know what corners to look in to find it.

its been a while since I made this blog, but I'm finally getting around to fulfilling that particular purpose- starting with one of my favorite small channels I've found on YouTube - Texas Beeworks by Erika Thompson (aka The Bee Lady)!

Trigger Warning: her videos may bother you if you have trypophobia or a fear of bees/insect swarms)

Erika is the ultimate bee-whisperer - I've never seen somebody so calm and comfortable around bees that she can scoop them up in her hands without getting attacked, let alone without wearing a beekeeper suit! Her channel features videos of her rescuing wild hives that need to be relocated (as an alternative to extermination) and stranded bee swarms that are in trouble.

Given that the drop in bee populations has been a big concern in the world for a while (because of how essential their pollination is for our food supplies), it's very comforting to see that somebody is looking out for the bees in her corner of the world - and doing her part to spread awareness about them too!

It is fascinating to see her bee rescue and relocation techniques and hear her explain her process - she takes so much care to preserve the honeycombs of the original hives during relocation and also utilizes the natural behaviors of bees to help them cooperate with the move!

Been a while since I posted any art, so here goes...

--Mackenzie and Chloe have somehow ended up tiny while being over in Penelope's room in the Condorium, avoiding being stomped on while Penelope, apart from being bubble-headed, is unaware of, or has forgotten about their presence in the room.--

I kind of forgot what the original scenario behind this drawing was, so I improvised a little.

Anyway, I may start to draw some more Touch Detective GTS art. How soon I don't know. It depends when I can find the time to sit down and sketch on things again.
