Halloween & Christmas Writing Challenge

OKAY SO,

I’ve decided that I want to do another writing challenge for both Halloween and Christmas but I wanna involve you lovely lot.

Halloween

Halloween will be one fic per day for 15 days [up until 31st October].

Since I’ve had no requests for this one I’ve changed the challenge

The tech giant has been caught up in the wave of tech layoffs sweeping the industry. Executives have already axed more than 1,000 workers this month, with CEO Sundar Pichai telling staff that more layoffs are coming this year, per The Verge.

Google expects to pay out $700 million in severance costs this quarter, according to Alphabet's latest results released Tuesday. Severance and other related costs totaled $2.1 billion for 2023.

Unsurprisingly, the cuts have gone down badly with remaining Google employees, with some lashing out at the tech giant's "boring and glassy-eyed" leaders.

The tech company, long known for its workplace culture and lavish perks, has long been one of the most desirable places to work.

Perhaps that's why Googlers are so disturbed by this new way of doing business. While the recent layoffs are not the first in Google's history — it made a 6% cut last year — they do signal that the days of treating employees like family are over.

A lot of this comes down to breaking an "unwritten" or "psychological" contract employees have with companies, Ben Hardy, a professor of organizational behavior at London Business School, told Business Insider.

Access to various perks and a sense of "psychological safety" may not be explicitly stated in an employee's contract, but Google workers have come to expect these things because of the company's reputation.

Hardy added that the first round of layoffs breached this unwritten contract with employees, but the latest cuts might have changed it forever.

Google will likely continue to reshape its business to adapt to market demands, meaning a workplace culture defined by rounds of layoffs may be the new normal.

He added: "Working for Google is just not as sexy and exciting as it used to be, especially if you are at risk of being laid off anytime."

The layoffs and changing culture at Google could come back to haunt the company in more ways than one, causing trouble for retention and recruitment, Roulet said.

Google has created an environment where its employees have a voice and are largely unafraid to use it.

Googlers are also unique in their autonomy, Roulet said. "They're not just robots — they actually have their own thoughts about what the firm should be doing," he said, pointing to the company's long history of internal activism.

Beyond the free food and ski trips, Google's also worked hard to cultivate a culture of creativity. The psychological effects of ongoing layoffs may also affect how employees do their jobs.

Fluffy Alphabet: Ben Hardy

Pairing: Ben Hardy x Reader

A/N: Decided to write another alphabet HC for Ben, but a fluffy version! I was also inspired by @sweetlygwilym ‘s piece on Gwilym Lee, thanks sis for the fluffy inspo! Happy reading fam! 😊

Warnings: MAJOR FLUFF AHEAD

Word count: 2,132 (I got kinda carried away haha)

A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)

Ben finds everything about you attractive: how kind and genuine you are to the people you encounter, how funny you are without even trying, how soft your skin is, your sense of style, and let’s not forget about your HOT BAAAWDY fam! The list goes on and on and Ben is just in shock sometimes about how on earth he is lucky to have you in his life.

Aside from his tight, fit body that Ben works hard for, you absolutely love Ben’s gorgeous green eyes. Whenever he looks at you it’s like his eyes are looking into the depths of your soul. You also adore how kind he is, how big his heart is, and how genuinely curious he is about everything.

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

You both definitely want to children, but not at this point in time. Both your careers are taking off, and you enjoy traveling with each other so much that the idea of welcoming a baby into the world is a HUGE responsibility that you’re not quite ready for. With that said though, Ben’s heart swells whenever you are baby sitting your best friend’s little girl. So kids are definitely something you both want in the future!

C = (How do they cuddle?)

Ben ‘Cinnamon Roll’ Hardy is the cuddliest man you have ever known. You’ve always loved that Ben is a touchy feely guy, but you didn’t realize exactly how much until you first moved in together. Cooking in the kitchen? Ben will stand behind you and hug your body against his chest, his chin resting on your shoulder. “What’s cookin, good lookin’?” Just lounging around the flat on a Sunday morning? Ben will have a bear hold on you, blowing raspberries into your neck so that he can hear you laugh. Had a long day at work? Ben will cuddle with you until you both fall asleep. Feeling emotional, overwhelmed, happy, or sad/tired? BEN WILL GO IN WITH THE CUDDLES

D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)

Dates with Ben never fail to surprise you. Whether it’s spending a Sunday afternoon visiting a museum, taking Frankie on a walk through the park, or getting dressed to the nines to go clubbing, Ben always has something up his sleeve. You both also really love staying in and actually binge watching Netflix, too!

E = Everything (You are my __ (e.g my life, my world…)

Person; Ben knows that he can talk to you about anything. First and foremost, he trusts and respects you. Ben admires you for who you are and how you can be his number one supporter and confidant BUT you never hesitate to call him out on his shit. He knows you will always be honest with him and that your love for him knows no bounds. Ben loves you with all of his heart, he would do anything for you. You make Ben a better man, you are the love of his life and his person.

F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

Ben knew he was in love with you the moment you started playing with Frankie on the day you first met. Frankie is very protective of Ben and most of the time it takes her a while to warm up to new people. But not with you. She ran straight into your outstretched arms and basically tackled you, licking your face. It’s as if she had known you for years and Ben’s heart melted at the sight of you two.

G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

Benny boy is the softest man you have ever known. He is comfortable with himself, his sexuality, and expressing his emotions. He has always been really gentle with you, his strong hands softly caressing the sides of your body when he pulls you close. Ben wants you to feel comfortable, loved, and safe with him at all times.

H = Holding hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

Ben was shocked to feel how naturally cold your hands were in the beginning of your relationship, so he intertwines his warm fingers with yours. Whenever you are both walking through a crowded place, he’ll tighten his grip so that he doesn’t lose you. When you are both in bed reading, his pinky will find yours and link them together.

I = Impression (First impression?)

Ben’s very first impression of you was hearing you laugh. He was walking Frankie at the park and you were sitting on a bench, Skyping your sister, and you were laughing aloud as she was telling you an embarrassing story. To Ben, your laugh literally lit up his world, so he threw a ball in your direction so that Frankie could fetch it. His plan worked because as you turned to look to see if the owner of the cute beagle was near, your eyes met his and you smiled at him. Ben swear that it was love at first sight.

J = Joker (Are they into pulling pranks?)

Oh fam, does Ben have jokes! He’ll pull low key ones around the flat, like hanging mistletoe when it is in the middle of July. “Ben you don’t need mistletoe to kiss me” “I know but now you won’t have an excuse to NOT kiss me, love!”

You got jokes too. One time when you visited him on set, you had the help of the costume ladies in acquiring a fake baby bump. When Ben first saw you, his eyes beamed at you. “Why aren’t you shocked?” “Baby, jokes on you because I want you to be the mother of my children.”

K = Kiss (How do they kiss?)

Ben is both a sensual and soft kisser at the same time. He’ll kiss your temple and cup your cheeks at first, then his hands will move to the back of your neck and you hip to pull you closer to him to that he can deepen the kiss. Morning kisses are the best because he’ll place small pecks starting from your shoulder, to your neck, all over your face, eventually meeting your lips.

L = Love (Who said ‘I love you’ first?)

Ben said I love you first. Albeit, even though he was plastered, he said it first and he meant it. It was about 2 months into your relationship and Ben took you with him to meet up with his BoRhap family at a local pub. You were dancing with Lucy and when you went to find Ben, he was at the bar with the boys taking shots. You went up to stand next to him and just when you were about to ask if he was ok, Drunk Ben goes:

“Wow, you’re pretty” he hiccups, his green eyes scanning your body.

“Thanks, you’re not so bad yourself stud,” You smirk, raising your eyebrows at Rami, Gwil, and Joe.

“What’s your name?” Ben smiles

“Y/N,” you reply

“Wait, that’s my girlfriend’s name!” Ben exclaims, flabbergasted.

“Ben, I am your girlfriend!” You chuckle, the boys are dying laughing right about now.

“You mean to say that I come home to a gorgeous woman like you?!” Ben asks, shocked

“Imma ‘fraid so,” You nod.

“God, I love you!” He happily shouts, pulling you to him, making a scene and dipping your body to give you a kiss. The boys cheered rowdily and this is also the moment when you realized you are in love with Ben.

M = Memory (What’s their favorite memory together?)

When he surprised you for your birthday by taking you on vacation. You literally had just gotten home and you were welcomed by the sight of Ben smiling from ear to ear with your suitcases by his side. You didn’t know the destination until you got there. Yu and Ben spent a week in Bora Bora just catching the sunrays and swimming in the beautiful, teal ocean.

N = No (What’s their pet peeve?)

Ben cannot stand rude and ignorant people that are close minded, as do you. You both also strongly dislike drivers that don’t signal.

O = Orange (What color reminds them of their other half?)

Red, because on the first day you met, you were wearing a red coat and also because that’s your power suit color.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use? What pet names do you use on them?)

For you: Babygirl, Sweetheart, Love, Honey

For him: Hon, Benny (YOU are the only one allowed to call him this), lover, bubs

Q = Quaint (What is their favorite non-modern thing?)

He loves sending you postcards when he is away for work and you do the same thing too!

R = Romantic (Are they romantic during the relationship?)

Romantic might as well be Ben’s middle name! Ben always starts the day by telling you how beautiful you are and how much he loves you. It’s the little things like taking you out to lunch or even giving you foot massages at the end of the day that make you fall in love with him even more. Ben always wants you to feel loved and will do anything to make sure this happens every.

S = Smile (What makes them smile without fail?)

Seeing you play with Frankie makes him smile, seeing you dance like know one is watching makes him smile, literally anything you do will make Ben smile. When he sees you in your element, talking to passionately about your job and interests, warms his heart.

T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)

If he is with you, Ben will literally talk about anything. From the most mundane things about how your day went to insightful conversations about culture and race, Ben is very comfortable about talking to you about everything. He learns something new everyday through your conversations, and that makes him appreciate your relationship even more.

U = Unbearable (What habit do they have that’s unbearable? What habit do you have that they find unbearable?)

As perfect as Ben is, on habit of his that you find unbearable is that he still has a smoking habit. He doesn’t smoke as much as he used to, but on the sporadic occasion that he has the urge to light a cigarette, he’ll step outside and take it. You have been very honest at the beginning of your relationship about your dislike of this nasty habit, and Ben really is trying to quit, for real this time.

The only habit of yours that Ben finds unbearable is that you leave your makeup out on the bathroom counter when you are in a rush to get ready. Unbearable isn’t really the right word, but Ben will never admit that he gets secretly turned on when he watches you do your makeup… Jokes on him because you do notice when he is watching you!

V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

Ben loves it when you come watch him play rugby with his friends. He prides himself in being physically active, so whenever he has the chance to show off his skills in front of you, he will take it! Ben absolutely gets a kick out of seeing you bit your lip and cross your legs when you watch him out on the field.

W = Wedding (How was the wedding?)

Your wedding is a destination wedding in Spain. The ceremony took place on a cliff during golden hour and you were both surrounded by your families and closest friends. The pure happiness and love provided the ambiance that day and when Ben saw you, in your beautiful white dress, walking down the aisle towards him, the world stopped and he was only focused on you. Happy tears filled his green eyes, as he was overwhelmed with all the emotions. The reception was LIT AF and it literally lasted until the sunrise on the next day. It was absolutely perfect, and you both would not have it any other way.

Ben is a deep sleeper and likes to be the little spoon. He loves when you wrap your arms and legs around him and has, on occasion, sleep talked. This usually happens whenever he comes home late at night after wrapping a long shoot. To your amusement, when Ben sleep talks, it’s really fast and incoherent. He will deny that this ever happened, but you have the receipts to prove him wrong!

L love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

During the third and fourth months of your relationship, Warren spent more time with Hank than he did with you. Apparently, ever since Warren's arrival, the doctor had been trying to get his head around a solution to get the young man his angel-like wings back. It had been quite the hassle, but he finally cracked it. It was somehow of an easy task, yet the real deal was the recovery journey, which using Hanks words, was going to be "more severe and painful than been crushed by an aeroplane a hundred times". Nonetheless, Warren agreed, unable to fully grasp what he was getting himself into.

After the ten-hour surgery to detach his metallic wings off his back, your boyfriend was sent to the infirmary wing, which from now on was going to serve as his temporary dorm. The procedure had been a complete success. But Hank's explanation hadn't been exaggerated. Since his Horseman wings had altered your boyfriend's back anatomy completely, his body was facing the challenging work of re-growing and re-adapting basically every bone, muscle and cartilage from scratch. Due to its painfulness and the importance for Warren to remain completely still in a discomforting position, lying face down on the mattress, Hank opted to induce him in a coma for the next two months. But even when you thought that had to be the tough part, it was just the tip of the iceberg. The real issue began after his back returned to its normal state and Warren was brought back from the coma, now it was time for the new set of wings to come out once more. Although he knew how excruciating the pain was going to be, he'd felt it before back in the day when his parents made him undergo similar operations which resulted in Warren's wings re-appearing. This was different, he was far older now and his immune system, unlike before, was exhausted from the overly complicated recovery.

No amount of medicaments were enough to ease the ever-throbbing pain coming from his already aching back, which had to make up space for the new limbs; The feathers peeking out and tearing his skin apart caused a constant stinging sensation as if Warren's back had a thousand needles coming out from it, and obviously; The intolerable pain form the deep cleansing done twice a day to avoid infections. It all had sent Warren into an on-and-off state of delusion. His weight dropped drastically, all the colour of his face had disappeared, he spent most of his awake time screaming in agony and even though Hank assured you Warren was doing just fine, into your eyes, he seemed more dead than alive. It was heartbreaking seeing him like this unable to help him in any way, and your boyfriend knew it. Even during a moment like this, he was still caring more about your well-being than his own. This is why he made Hank promise not to let you in into the infirmary again until his realise day, in order not to agitate you more by his current state.

The downside of this abrupt decision was that to you it seemed as if the man you've learned to love was pushing you away. It had been a kick in the balls. After all, when people are going through a hellish situation like Warren's, the only thing they desire is for the person they cared about the most to stay by their side. For them to pamper them and nurse them back to health, right? Maybe your boyfriend just didn't like you as much as you thought he did. It had been a hard pill to swallow but Charles helped you understand the reasoning behind Warren's decision. Now you were left without any other choice than to guard him only from afar.

From that moment on, people could always find you sitting right outside the infirmary or trailing behind Hank and Charles asking a hundred questions about your man's health. Yes, you knew you were acting like a complete pain in the ass but it was your only way to feel close to your angel, even if you believed he wanted you nowhere near him.

One week away from his realising, Hank, Charles and Erick left the mansion to attend some State-emergency in the White House. It was almost midnight, you'd fallen asleep in your regular spot, just outside the hospital-like room, when a piercing scream woke you up with a jump. It was undoubtedly Warren's, who had tried to grab the tv remote from across the room when he tripped over with the IV, thankfully he fell face-down, still, his fragile self had left him unable to stand up on his own again. You stormed into the room and swiftly scanned the area looking for your boyfriend, who was failing to get on his feet. You rushed to his side and pulled him up by the waist for him to shift his weight on you. Carefully, you laid him down on the mattress trying your hardest not to cause him more discomfort. You had been so focused on aiding him that you had been oblivious to his subtle cursing and silent sobs, something along the lines of him "being so fucking useless he needs a bloody nanny 24/7 because he can't even walk 5 feet".

All the bitterness you had from Warren's dumb decision, from benching you for god knows why, had left immediately as you kissed him with all the passion you could muster, hoping for the kiss to speak for itself. Although Warren's lips were chapped and dry they kissed you back with the same fervour, the machine next to his bed started beeping rapidly announcing Warren's increasing heart rate making you stop in your tracks. Not after kissing his forehead, the tip of his nose, one cheek followed by the other and finally, a chaste peek to his lips. It was then, while the young man's eyes remained closed, savouring the affection when you let out those three words neither of you thought to hear nor say ever in your lives, yet her you were with your heart on your sleeve waiting for your boyfriend to show you any sign of how he felt for you. And he didn't keep you waiting for long, as he pulled you down to with him on the bed ignoring damaging his new white wings, which still hadn't reached their final size, on his back. He was far too euphoric to care, as he kept saying over and over those very same words to you until you were a giggling mess.

M marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

The morning after your first kiss, the Angel of Death asked you to be his girlfriend. It had been in the simplest of ways, you had fallen asleep next to Warren. Having those gigantic wings of his acting as a barrier around your body made it easy for you not to be bothered by the coldness from that mid-November night. Even when Warren's wings were still made out of a deadly-sharp metal they held some warmth to them, or perhaps it was coming from Warren's body rather than his wings. Either way, to be cloaked by them whilst having the blond man's body pressed to you, listening to the steady beat from his heart, and his arms snaking around your figure allowed you to fall into a lovely deep sleep. So much that you remained fast asleep at 10:46 AM when Warren woke up.

It was then, while Warren was becoming familiar with the fact this was the first time he ever saw you this peaceful. The morning light illuminating your features, the tear-and-makeup stained cheeks, and frizzy hair which seemed to shimmer with to the sun streams made the young man longing for each day to begin like this, with you next to him.

It was a huge step for Warren, who although had plenty of experience in the casual-dating department, had never even been on a second date with the same girl before. It was unknown territory for him, relationships were scary, messy and complicated and most of the time the people involved ended up broken-hearted and resentful of one another. Despite this, his gut was saying otherwise. And Warren being the impulsive man he was, took the biggest leap of faith of his life. Waking you up suddenly asking you to be his girlfriend, without rodeos.

The following months had been the darnedest thing in Warren's life. After your love confession, something changed in the man's heart. He never believed in the idea of marriage, more precisely, Warren's inner demons made him believed there couldn't be anyone out there for him, that he was doomed to spend his days all alone without having anyone who could love him and let them be loved by him. And then, you came along.

Ever since you both confessed your feelings to each other, Warren began daydreaming of what life would be like next to you. Filled with excitement and love, that was for sure. Although his idea of settling down only applies to you as his lifetime companion, not much for actually staying in the same country or even the same city for the rest of his life. He is well aware you're a free spirit but he is unsure you'll be down to this lifestyle for the long ride, to never truly put down roots. Perhaps buying multiple nice flats downtown in the cities you fancied the most. Big enough for both of you but nothing state-of-the-art, after all, you wouldn't be spending more than a year until you moved to the next one in the rotation.

Although Warren hasn't proposed to you yet, he's brought the idea up several times, testing the waters to see what you think. Thanks to it, he knows you have a particuliar design in mind for your "perfect" engagement ring, that you don't conceive putting up a show, and the weird despise you have for Tuesdays, so much that if he dared to pop the big question up on a Tuesday you would brush him off.

Warren might not know how and might not know when, but he sure does know he's going to ask you to become his wife, his partner in crime and in life till death do you apart! And it might come sooner than later.

N nicknames - What do they call their s/o?

Cherry Bomb: Warren took you to a rock concert on your first date, you were both having a blast, singing your lungs out to the booming music. Everything was going smoothly until some random jackass killed the mood by deciding to spit some disgusting "compliments" directed at you right after spanking you. You were livid, your face had gone a thousand shades of red out of pure rage, and in a flash, you launched yourself towards the guy and started kicking the shit out of him in such a way it would've shocked Warren if it hadn't been for the song "Cherry Bomb" which started playing in the background, perfectly timed with the ass-whooping of the century, making the following scene to seem as it had been taken out of an action movie turning it in the most entertaining thing to watch. After that night, it had become your boyfriend's favourite nickname for you, not only did it matched perfectly with your personality but it was also somewhat of an inner joke between the two.

Believe it or not, Warren Worthington III is an old-school romantic, whether he's proud of his upbringing or not, having been raised under strict formalities and tedious etiquette, resulted in him being the living proof good manners and chivalry aren't dead, even while he comes across as nothing else but a tacky punk.

Darling, Dearest but mostly Love, those are the only terms of endearment he allows himself to say when referring to you, thinking anything else such as babe or doll are quite inappropriate. You thought it was hilarious, especially after watching his face shift in utter bafflement after hearing Scott call Jean "baby girl". Needless to say, Warren spent the next 45 minutes explaining to everyone the twisted and Freudian silver lining of it.

Angel: No matter how hard you had tried not to use the cheesiest most predictable of pet names for your winged boyfriend, it was during those times when he would stand under a light source of any kind, like when he got dressed in front of you and the morning light would hit him from behind creating a halo around his figure, that you had to succumb to your desires. And how couldn't you? You had always admired his celestial looks, even with his Horseman wings. But now that his feathery ones were in their full glory, it would be a lie to say Warren didn't put to shame any angelic renaissance painting.

Doll-face: After the "baby girl" incident you had gotten a liking of pissing your boyfriend off by calling him with the very same names he hated so much. Yet, doll-face had received a different response, apparently, there's something about the mixture between the praise and the hidden lust which gets him eating at the palm of your hands each time said words come out of your mouth.

O on Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious to others? How do they express their feelings?

Both of you decided to keep your relationship secrete only for a couple of weeks, after Warren asked you to be his girlfriend. Just to get mentally and emotionally prepared for the unstoppable teasing you were going to get from your friends. The problem was, Warren was the grumpiest, sassiest, most impatient man on earth. Therefore it was quite sketchy when Scott and Peter burned down one of his favourite jackets by accident. Since he was running late to meet up with you, all Warren did was rolling his eyes and huff in frustration. Any other time he would have destroyed anything from them as payback, not after having burst out plenty of curse words at them. That had been the first of many indicators that there had to be something huge going on in Warren's life for him to show such drastic mood change. It didn't take long for The Gang to find out about your relationship. After all, they weren't stupid, plus you weren't the best at hiding it, especially taking into consideration that living in a house filled with super-powerful onlookers who could hear, see and be anywhere without going noticed was the hardest setting to achieve your goal.

Like the many times, Jean accidentally listened into your thoughts, most left her endeared with how much adoration you two thought of each other, and some others made her wish never to have been born a telepath in the first place. Or those uncomfortable times Kurt abruptly appeared into the same room you were, making you pretend you hadn't been snogging like crazy out of a sudden. Or how each night Warren would sneak into your dorm through the window, thinking he was been cautious only for Jubilee to watch the whole scene from her own window in amusement. Although they had been dying to ask you all the deeds, they agreed to wait for when you were ready to announce the big news. Until one evening while hanging out all together, where naive Kurt, asked innocently: Since you were dating. Why weren't you sitting next to each other like Scott and Jean always were? After some anxious fidgeting and shy laughs, it was pretty much useless to keep up with the facade.

Nowadays, you two are close to de-throning your fellow mutant friends as the mansion's power couple. Yes, Scott and Jean are cute, sweet, tooth-rotting fluff to say the least, but they are lacking that edge so particular of yours which makes all the boys jealous of Warren and all the girls wanting to be you.

Even when Warren isn't the biggest fan of public displays of affection, it is pretty obvious how much he cares for you, and the way he shows it is through his attentiveness to you which can't go unnoticed. Warren's most common acts of chivalry can be a great example, like him always opening and closing the door for you or pulling out your chair. And the not so common ones, like how he would always keep a hair tie with him. Since you tend to lose them frequently, that way if you're in need of pulling up your hair he can easily do so whilst you keep on doing whatever you were doing. Warren isn't a man of words, therefore he will always show his love for you either through his candid actions or with his excessive gift-giving. He's the type of guy who would buy you a brand new car because you mention you liked one you saw on the way home, he's got the means after all.

As said before, Warren is very old-school, meaning he believes yours and his affections should be kept privately. In front of people, the most you can get from Warren would be a chaste kiss to your temple, having one of his wings wrapped around you, and holding your hand unless you're leaving or entering the room, in that case, he would kiss it only for having your fingers intertwining after. Or sometimes when he's in a peculiarly good mood he would have you sitting on his lap while watching a movie in the common room, for example. But that is all! Obviously, there would be times where you would feel like messing around with him and you would spank him on the go or kiss him passionately only for you to leave somewhere else immediately after. It never fails to leave him frozen and beetroot red!

Now, when it comes to bragging about you, Jesus Christ, Warren can become a complete nuisance sometimes. You are the only constant thought in this mind, so he would always bring you up to any conversation with almost anyone. "Oh shit, that reminds me of that time my girlfriend blew up a building all by herself". "I bet my girlfriend would love this". "Oh my god, my girlfriend could definitely kick his ass". "My girlfriend and I always go to this place and...". And much more. Even Peter, the annoyment made person, has complained to you about how fucking irritating Warren can get, and that you should just get him out of that spell you have him under on for the greater good.

Q quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Warren is the embodiment of a real life angel, that is a fact. But what also is a fact is Warren being more related to birds than he's whiling to admit.

He has many antics resembling bird's. Like who during autumn and winter he spends most of his time inside. Unable to face the freezing cold from the Northern hemisphere. Or how he would puff his wings unconsciously whenever your around to catch your attention. And how during spring time he becomes the clingiest, horniest man on earth.

But out of the bunch, the one quirck that would fit in this category would be how just like birds, he would gift you mostly jewelry of any kind, cheep or expensive or pretty much anything shiny and sparkly.

Also, how he can't help but to store in a trinket box he has hidden beneath his bed, every little detail from you: movie tickets, Polaroids, candy wrappers, ribbons, gift bags, old clothes you name it. The day you found his box Warren almost fainted, he knows it's weird and creepy yet he cannot stop. He was waiting to hear you laugh at him and his odd collection or to be at least surprised, but no. You only kissed him tenderly and began asking about the back story of some of his small "treasures". You know Warren's bird-like behaviours after all.

Perhaps the most important is how, just like many other birds who mate for life, Warren is going to become your last boyfriend, only for him to one day become your husband. After all he started asking you about wedding dates only after dating for 7 moths.

Your boyfriend is one of the most romantic people alive and in a very old-fashioned way. Do expect a gigantic bouquet or red roses on any especial occasion. Fancy dinners and night outs, hand written love letters on your doorstep and serenades just because.

It might be cliché but when you pair it with the absurd wealth he has, fancy dinners mean having a Michelin star restaurant closed only for you two. Serenades are having your favourite singers performing outside of your window giving you a private show.

And night outs can be anywhere in the globe.

And even if your angel didn't have all those zero's in his bank account, it is in those details like never forgetting an important date, taking note of what you like and don't, always paying all his attention to you during conversations and mostly just making you his priority, what made you fall head over heels for him.

note: so i was hoping for TYMH II to be out tonight, but that’s not happening, so it’ll either be next week or the week after. i didn’t want to leave you with nothing this week, so, enjoy!

A = attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)

ben finds most things attractive about you, but he mainly loves your hands. the way they fit so perfectly into his own and the way they’re always avaible for him to grab, or kiss, or hold. no matter what, in any situation, ben will, at some point, reach out for your hand. it may be to calm his nerves, or to just know you’re there. regardless, he loves them.

B = baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

you can bet on your life that ben wants a family. this guy is a natural with children and can’t wait to have many with you. he’s thinking maybe five or six, but you want to stick with two or three. honestly, as long as he’s the father to your children, he doesn’t care how many you have. he wants a family with you and only you.

C = cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

ben is the biggest, cuddliest teddy bear ever; he loves to pull you close to him. whether you’re on the sofa, in bed, at an award show or on set, he likes to know that you’re pressed up against him. he either wraps his arms around your waist or shoulders, or you wrap your arms around his neck or waist. his favourite cuddling position is when you’re laid down, his arms wrapped around you and your head on his chest. it’s heaven to him.

dates with ben are perfect. his favourite date is the two of you together, either laid out in your garden watching the stars (in summer), or laid on the sofa, the coal fire lit and netflix on the tv. of course, you have more formal dates, like dinner, premieres and award shows, but ben prefers to have you to himself.

you are ben’s treasure. he treasures ever moment with you and wishes for some days to never end. he believes everything happens for a reason and that’s why he treasures every second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year with you. you mean everything to ben; his hidden treasure in this nasty world.

it was probably in the fourth month of you two being together. you were stood making dinner while ben was lounging on the sofa reading a new script when your favourite song came onto the playlist. your audible gasp caught ben’s attention and dragged him away from his reading. he sat for the full song watching you enjoy yourself and the music. that’s when he knew he was in love with you.

ben is the most gentle person you’ve been with. even down to the way he touches you, he’s gentle. a gentle lover, a gentle holder, a gentle giver. he always touches you like you’re about to break, like a precious piece of china which he prizes above all.

ben loves to have your fingers intertwined with his. he was never one for just holding your hand, he has to feel it. he has to feel your fingers against his, your palm and his. no matter where you are, he’ll find your hand and intertwine your fingers, pulling you closer and pressing a kiss to your head.

for ben, it was definitely love at first sight. your bright smile caught his eyes as you laughed at a joke someone had said. the nonchalance of you stood at the bar entrapped him in a trance. his eyes lingered and all he could think was that he was staring at the most beautiful person in london, if not, the world.

J = joker (Are they into pulling pranks?)

you had named ben the king of pranks. they were only small (and only slightly scary sometimes) but they caught you out every single time. you would laugh about it afterwards, of course, but his humorous side was something you never wanted him to lose.

K = kiss (How do they kiss?)

ben kisses you like there’s no tomorrow. he puts so much feeling and passion into your kisses, even if they’re only a small peck. his soft lips feel heavenly on yours, especially after a long day of work. whenever he kissed you, he always had at least one hand on your cheek, keeping you in place near him for as long as possible.

ben. his friends used to tease him about how blunt he had been in telling you and how stupid he was to let it slip like that, but you couldn’t have been happier. no matter how either of you had first said it, it was special. it was something you knew you would treasure together (even if he did say it drunkenly while naked in the shower which was not turned on).

M = memory (What's their favorite memory together?)

the first night you had spent together. it had been a long and loving date. ben treated you to dinner, a movie and a walk along he river thames before he took you back to his apartment and spent the entire night making love to you. god, the morning after was a treat, too.

he can’t stand when you leave the shower mat on the floor. you know that it won’t dry down there, and he knows that you know this, but you can never make it a habit to pick it up.

O = orange (What color reminds them of their other half?)

pink. he remembers seeing a pink aura around you when he first saw you. the lighting was pink to, adding to the beautiful sight in front of him. pink also reminded him of your lips and the colour of your cheeks when ben first spoke to you. you were pink in his eyes.

P = pet names (What pet names do they use? What pet names do you use on them?)

my love, darling, baby, babe, angel, sweetheart and, his and your personal favourite, love. they work both ways.

Q = quaint (What is their favorite non-modern thing?)

ben loves snapping polaroids of you. the additional glow the light gives you which is perfectly captured by polaroids is something ben swoons over. snapping one of you in bed the morning after a night together, the light hitting you in the right way and the sheets bunched around your body saved for the perfect reminder of what he had waiting at home after filming.

R = romantic (Are they romantic during the relationship?)

ben is the soppiest romantic going. he loves buying you little gifts from time to time and setting up treasure hunts for you to enjoy. he goes all out on valentine’s day. he gets a teddy, chocolates, roses, everything. he loves to spoil the one he loves.

S = smile (What makes them smile without fail?)

just you. you in the morning, you at night, you in the bath splashing him with bubbles and placing them on his head. literally anything about you makes him smile.

T = talking (What do they like to talk about?)

ben will talk about anything with you. from small talk to the existence of the universe. anything small or anything big will come up as a topic of conversation with ben. and you love that. ben’s got a type of intellect that you have never experienced before; it fascinates you.

U = unbearable (What habit do they have that's unbearable? What habit do you have that they find unbearable?)

ben leaves the toilet seat up. you leave the shower mat on the floor. that’s it.

V = vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

ben literally shows you off all the time. award shows, premieres, parties, after parties, to his family, to your family, on instagram... all the time. he likes to show off that he has you, that he has someone as incredible and as amazing as you are and that he deserves you, as you deserve him. he’s proud of being yours.

the wedding went perfectly. everything fell into place, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception was stunning, your hotel suite afterwards was incredible. everyone looked beautiful and fit in perfectly with the day. neither you nor ben wanted the day to end.

ben’s song is you take my breath away. he can relate because, like in the song, his lover takes his breath away in every way everyday. there’s nothing that you can’t do that won’t make ben say ‘wow’.
