Desi Rachel
Both of her parents are brown and grew up in india but her paternal grandfather is white and they moved to America when she was 10
Her mother is a kannadiga (from karnataka) and her father is telugu (telugu speaker from andhra) so she speaks both kannada and telugu along with hindi from the ten years in a karnataka school and English.
She's not very good at hindi anymore because she doesn't get much practice but can still understand it fairly well.
She can write in hindi, english and kannada but not telugu. She can read in it a little bit because it's kinda similar to kannada
Her favorite YouTube channel is unerase poetry and girliyapa
If you mention "fair and lovely" anywhere near her her eyes will fill with rage and she'll give you a half an hour talk on how that cream is one of the most evil things in india and that the fair skin=beauty is a colonial idea and dark skinned people (like herself) are fucking beautiful
Every year when assam is flooded her family donates a shit ton of money to help the victims and she does everything she can to raise money for it as well
She loves wearing payals and glass and threadwork bangles. She has a pair of silver payals and wears them everyday but buys bangles every time they go to India from either a small stall or from one of the women with the baskets.
Her favorite food is benne dosa. She eats it for breakfast everyday when they go to visit her maternal grandparents in India
She loves avakai. Unlike most kids she loves eating it with poppu and rice.
When article 377 was abolished she wore a rainbow kurta and duppatta and a  pin badge she made herself that said "fuck colonization" all day long (she is also bisexual fight me)
She loves telugu and kannada movies. She also watches bollywood sometimes, partly to make sure she doesn't forget hindi completely mostly because she has a huge crush on deepika padukone
She painted a portrait of deepika from ang laga de re and has it framed in her room.
She's really really good at bharatnatiyam. She started taking lessons when she was little and lived in India and when they moved to America her mother started teaching her.
I might do a part two. And definitely a moodboard. Let me know what u guys think
