My Open-Source Tolkien Studies Data Sets
One of the best parts of being an independent scholar is that I get to be generous with my research. I am not counting on it for a job, and frankly, between teaching at a small rural school and running the Silmarillion Writers' Guild, I will likely never be able to do all that I want to do with the data that I collect and so love the idea that someone might do something with it.
Because I do love making sets of data. Everything from the mind-numbing copy/paste data entry to learning new spreadsheet formulas is enjoyable to me. I'm an introvert in a very extraverted profession, and after a day of being all on for my students, turning everything into numbers is like a cup of tea under a warm blanket with a Golden Retriever at my feet.
So please use these data sets if they interest you. Play with them. Write about and share what you notice. Expand and build on them. Publish using them. If you use my data or work, credit Dawn Walls-Thumma and link to my website, dawnfelagund.com, if possible. I'd also love if you'd let me know if you share anything using them.
Consolidated Timelines. I made this back in 2013. I was trying to arrange all of Tolkien's timelines side by side. I did some weird things with numbers that I'm not sure I fully understand now, but maybe you can make sense of this or maybe you just want everything Tolkien said about timelines in one handy document. (Make a copy of the Consolidated Timelines.)
Fanfiction Archive Timeline. Made for the 2023 Fan Studies Network North America conference, this timeline-on-a-spreadsheet shows archives in the Tolkien and Harry Potter fandoms, multifandom archives, and social networks and when they came online, were active, became inactive, and went offline, along with data about affiliated communities, software, and rescue efforts. I update this timeline annually with that year's data and will continue to add new archives when I have enough data to do so. (Make a copy of the Fanfiction Archive Timeline spreadsheet.)
References to Sources in the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien. In this document, I record each time a narrator's source is mentioned or alluded to. Ideally, this will one day include The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings as well! For now, it is just The Silmarillion for the selfish reason that I'm predominantly a Silmarillion researcher. (Make a copy of the References to Sources.)
Silmarillion Characters. A list of all of the characters in The Silmarillion, demographic data about them, the number of times they are mentioned, various aliases, and which "books" of The Silmarillion they appear in. The latter part is a work-in-progress. (Make a copy of Silmarillion Characters.)
Silmarillion Death Scenes (spreadsheet | document). For last year's Tolkien at UVM and Oxonmoot conferences, I collected every death scene in the Quenta Silmarillion and recorded various details about character demographics, cause of death, and grief and mourning rituals. (Make a copy of the spreadsheet. Make a copy of the document.)
The Silmarillion: Who Speaks? This is my newest project, which I hope to complete by the end of the year, documenting which characters get to speak actual words, the number of words they speak, and demographics about the speaking characters. Eventually, I would like to include as well characters who are mentioned as having spoken without being given actual dialogue, but one step at a time. Again, this is a work-in-progress. I have just started working on it. Come back in 2025 and, hopefully, there will be interesting stuff to see.

Two sides of a Gem < one-shot >
Bows, Bonds, and Broken Rules
A.N I decided to write a one-shot, a scene about Y/N and Ruby's (Elias) past, I also included Y/Ns older brother since I've mentioned him before.
______________________________________
The lab was cloaked in the dim hum of machinery, the faint glow of monitors casting eerie shadows across the walls. Dr. Michael Laurent shuffled through the sterile workspace, a half-empty coffee mug clutched in one hand and a clipboard in the other. His eyes, darkened by exhaustion, scanned the data scrolling across the screen in front of him.
Prototype-7A’s diagnostics were scheduled to run tonight—standard procedure. But as his tired gaze flicked toward the platform where the puppet was supposed to be secured, his heart stopped.
The cables were disconnected. The restraints were loose. Prototype-7A was gone.
Michael’s clipboard hit the floor with a sharp clatter as panic surged through him.
“No, no, no…” he muttered, his breath coming in shallow bursts as he spun around. “Where is he?! Someone, check the security logs!”
Two researchers nearby froze at his outburst before fumbling with their terminals.
“D-Dr. Laurent, there’s no sign of forced entry or override commands,” one stammered.
“Then how did a six-foot puppet just walk away?” Michael snapped, running a hand through his disheveled hair. His eyes darted frantically around the lab before narrowing in realization.
“Y/N.”
Without another word, Michael bolted toward the hallway leading to the private quarters.
Meanwhile, in Y/N’s Room:
Soft yellow light bathed the small bedroom in a cozy glow. Y/N sat cross-legged on her fluffy pink blanket, a small basket of ribbons spread out beside her. Sitting stiffly across from her on the floor was Elias—formerly known as Prototype-7A.
The puppet’s tall frame seemed hilariously out of place in such a childlike setting. His mechanical joints and rigid posture contrasted sharply with the delicate pastel bows already perched crookedly in his hair.
“Okay, Elias, this one is the best one yet!” Y/N chirped as she carefully adjusted a bright lavender bow onto the side of his head.
Elias, who was designed for precision and combat analysis, sat there unmoving. His glowing artificial eyes flickered slightly as he processed her words.
“Y/N,” he said in his monotone voice, “I fail to understand how these decorations improve my operational efficiency.”
Y/N giggled as she tied the bow neatly. “They don’t, silly! But they make you look better. Who doesn’t want to look good, Elias?”
He blinked. “I am not programmed to prioritize aesthetics.”
She grinned cheekily. “Well, consider this your software update, mister!”
But before Elias could reply, the door to Y/N’s room burst open with a loud bang!
Michael stood in the doorway, wide-eyed and breathless, his lab coat askew and panic etched across his face. His gaze locked onto the scene before him—Y/N, frozen in place mid-bow-tying, and Prototype-7A, his head slightly tilted under a crown of pastel ribbons.
The silence was deafening.
“...Y/N?” Michael’s voice cracked slightly as he processed the absurdity of what he was seeing.
Y/N slowly lowered her hands from Elias’s hair and gave her brother a nervous smile. “Hi, Michael…”
Michael stepped into the room, his frantic eyes scanning over Elias, assessing every inch of the puppet for signs of malfunction. But Elias sat still, glowing eyes fixed on Michael without a hint of hostility.
“Y/N…” Michael’s voice was softer now, more exhausted than angry. “What are you doing? Do you have any idea how dangerous this is? What if he malfunctioned? What if he hurt you?”
Elias spoke before Y/N could. “I would not harm Y/N.”
Michael froze, his brow furrowing. “What did you say?”
“I would not harm Y/N,” Elias repeated flatly.
Y/N, sensing the tension, hopped up from her bed and positioned herself slightly in front of Elias. “He’s not dangerous, Michael! You said it yourself—he’s special. You made him that way. And… and he’s my friend!”
Michael let out a slow breath, running a hand down his face. “Y/N, he’s not just—” He stopped himself. “He’s not just a friend. He’s an advanced prototype. There are systems inside him we barely understand yet. You can’t just… take him out of the lab like he’s a toy!”
“He’s not a toy,” Y/N said firmly, crossing her arms. “And he’s not just a prototype either. He’s Elias.”
Michael froze again. “...What did you just call him?”
“Elias,” Y/N repeated, turning to glance back at the puppet with a soft smile. “It’s his name. I gave it to him because ‘Prototype-7A’ isn’t a name—it’s a serial number. Elias suits him better.”
For a moment, Michael said nothing. He simply stared at his little sister, standing protectively in front of a machine that shouldn’t have emotions or thoughts of its own—but somehow, under Y/N’s gentle care, did.
Michael finally sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. “Y/N… you can’t keep doing this. He wasn’t built for this kind of bond.”
“But he has one now,” Y/N said softly.
Elias’s head tilted slightly as his synthetic eyes flickered, his servos whirring faintly. “I do not understand… but I will protect Y/N.”
Michael let out a hollow chuckle, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Great. My million-credit prototype is now… a glorified bodyguard with bows in his hair.”
Y/N’s eyes lit up with a glimmer of victory. “See? He’s perfect!”
Michael gave her a tired smile and stepped closer, ruffling her hair. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
“I learned from the best,” Y/N quipped back.
Michael turned to Elias. “Come on. We need to get you back to the lab before the others start asking questions.”
Elias rose smoothly, towering over both of them, his ribbons bouncing slightly with the motion. Y/N reached out and gave his synthetic hand a small squeeze.
“See you later, Elias,” she said softly.
Elias inclined his head slightly. “Goodbye,
Y/N.”
As Michael guided Elias out of the room, he glanced back one last time to see Y/N carefully gathering the leftover ribbons.
The door clicked shut behind them, leaving Michael walking beside the puppet in silence. After a moment, Michael sighed.
The walk back to the lab was heavy with tension. Michael’s steps were brisk, his hand resting firmly on Elias’s shoulder as he guided him through the sterile halls. The pastel bows still sat delicately tied into Elias’s synthetic hair, their soft colors a stark contrast to the cold, metallic structure of his frame.
When they reached the heavy lab doors, Michael quickly punched in the access code. The mechanical hiss of the doors opening did nothing to mask the low murmur of anxious voices inside. The moment Michael stepped in with Elias, the conversations died down, replaced by wide-eyed stares and heavy silence.
“Dr. Laurent!” Dr. Finch’s voice cracked like a whip across the lab. He was already stalking towards them, his clipboard clutched tightly in one hand. “Where in the world have you been? Prototype-7A has been missing for over an hour!”
Michael didn’t stop walking, his focus on guiding Elias back to his platform. “Finch, he’s fine. He’s back, and there’s no damage or issue with his systems.”
“Fine?” Finch’s voice rose slightly, his face twisted in frustration. “He’s not a child you can let wander off, Michael! Prototype-7A is an extremely valuable and dangerous asset. And—” Finch’s eyes zeroed in on the pastel bows tied neatly into Elias’s dark hair. “And what is this? What is this nonsense?”
Michael exhaled heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. “It’s nothing, Finch. Drop it.”
“Nothing? He looks like he’s been… decorated!” Finch sneered, his eyes darting to the other researchers who were trying—and failing—to suppress their amused glances.
Michael turned Elias around gently, guiding him back to his platform. Elias stepped up onto it with mechanical grace, lowering himself into the seat as Michael began reconnecting the diagnostic cables to his ports.
“Look,” Michael said tightly, without turning back to face Finch. “Prototype-7A is stable. There was no system breach, no mechanical failure, and no harm done. End of discussion.”
But Finch wasn’t finished. “End of discussion? Do you understand the implications of what happened today, Michael? He was gone. And don’t think I didn’t notice where you found him.”
Michael froze briefly before resuming his work. Finch’s voice dropped lower, venom dripping from every word.
“You found him with your sister. Tell me, Michael, was that… playtime productive? Did your little sister enjoy her tea party with Prototype-7A?”
Michael’s shoulders stiffened, and for a brief moment, the air in the lab felt suffocating. Slowly, he turned to face Finch, his tired eyes sharp with warning.
“Watch your tone, Finch.”
But Finch wasn’t backing down. “You’re letting sentiment cloud your judgment, Michael. Prototype-7A isn’t a companion. He’s a weapon—a tool. And tools don’t belong in the hands of children. They don’t belong anywhere outside this lab.”
The sharp sound of Finch’s voice seemed to echo in the sterile space. The younger researchers exchanged nervous glances, their unease obvious.
Then, a soft voice broke the silence.
“Dr. Finch,” Elias said evenly, his synthetic voice calm yet somehow sharp in its clarity. His glowing red eyes locked onto Finch without blinking. “Y/N placed the ribbons in my hair.”
The lab fell completely still.
Finch stared at him, frozen mid-breath, his eyes wide. Around him, the other researchers were caught somewhere between fascination and fear.
Michael cleared his throat softly, his voice steady but quieter. “Prototype-7A didn’t malfunction, Finch. He didn’t disobey any orders, he didn’t override any programming. He followed Y/N because… because she asked. And he did it without hostility, without violence. That’s not a failure—that’s progress.”
Finch’s mouth opened and closed a few times before he managed to stammer out, “That’s… that’s impossible. He shouldn’t—he can’t—respond to emotional cues. He’s… he’s…”
“A prototype?” Michael finished for him, his tone carrying an edge of bitterness. “Isn’t that what you keep calling him? Prototype-7A. Like he’s just some piece of equipment. But he’s not, Finch. He’s learning. He’s adapting. And whether you like it or not, that’s proof of success.”
Finch stepped back slightly, his face pale but his scowl still firmly in place. “This… this is dangerous, Michael. You’re walking a fine line. If the IPC gets wind of this…”
“Then let them,” Michael said softly, his tired eyes locking with Finch’s. “Because one day, you’re going to realize that Elias isn’t just wires and code. And when that day comes, I hope it isn’t too late.”
Without waiting for Finch’s reply, Michael turned back to Elias, adjusting the last cable and giving his shoulder a firm pat. “Rest now, Elias. You did well today.”
Elias’s head tilted slightly in acknowledgment, his glowing red eyes dimming slightly as the diagnostic systems began their cycle.
The pastel ribbons remained in his hair, untouched.

Hey! This is very random, but I saw that you work in cyber security right now. I work in data science, but I'm really interested in cyber security and considering making a switch. I was wondering what kind of cybersecurity work you do, and what has been the most helpful for you to learn what you need for your job!
Hi! Cybersecurity is a really broad field, and you can do a lot of different things depending on what your interests are.
My work is mostly focused around automating things for security, since my background is in programming. Automation is really helpful for speeding up boring, monotonous tasks that need to get done, but don't necessarily need a human involved. A good example is automated phishing analysis, since phishing reports are a big chunk of the cases that security analysts have to deal with, and an analyst usually follows the same few steps at the beginning. Rather than someone having to manually check the reputation of the sender domain, check the reputation of any links, and all of that every single time, we can build tools to automatically scan for things like that and then present the info to the analyst. The whole idea here is to automate the boring data retrieval stuff, since computers are good at that, and give the analyst more time for decision-making and analysis, since humans are good at that.
If you're coming from data science, you might be interested in detection engineering. Cybersecurity is essentially a data problem - we have a ton of logs from a ton of different sources (internal logs, threat intelligence feeds, etc.) - how do we sort through that data to highlight things that we want to pay attention to, and how can we correlate events from different sources? If you're into software development or want to stay more on the data science side, maybe you could also look into roles for software development at companies that have SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) products - these are essentially the big log repositories that organizations rely on for correlation and alerting.
As for starting to learn security, my general go-to recommendation is to start looking through the material for the Security+ certification. For better or worse, certifications are pretty big in security, much more so than other tech fields (to my knowledge). I'm a bit more hesitant to recommend the Security+ now, since CompTIA (the company that offers it) was bought by a private equity company last year. Everyone is kind of expecting the prices to go up and the quality to go down. (The Security+ exam costs $404 USD as of writing this, and I think I took mine for like $135ish with a student discount in 2022). However, the Security+ is still the most well-known and comprehensive entry-level certification that I'm aware of. You can (and should) study for it completely for free - check out Professor Messer's training videos on YouTube. There are also plenty of books out there if that's more of your thing. I'd say to treat the Security+ as a way to get a broad overview of security and figure out what you don't know. (It's certainly not a magic ticket to a job, no matter what those expensive bootcamps will tell you.)
If you aren't familiar with networking, it's worth checking out Professor Messer's Network+ training videos as well. You don't need to know everything on there, but having an understanding of ports, protocols, and network components and design is super useful. I hear a lot that the best security folks are often the ones who come from IT or networking or similar and have a really solid understanding of the fundamentals and then get into security. Don't neglect the basics!
One thing that I'll also add, based on conversations I've had with folks in my network… getting a job in cybersecurity is harder now than it used to be, at least in the US (where I am). There are a ton of very well-qualified people who have been laid off who are now competing with people trying to get into the field in the first place, and with the wrecking ball that Elon is taking to the federal government (and by extension, government contractors) right now… it's hard. There's still a need for skilled folks in cyber, but you're going to run into a lot of those "5 years of experience required for this entry-level job" kind of job postings.
On a slightly happier note, another thing you should do if you want to get into cyber is to stay up to date with what's happening in the industry! I have a masterpost that has a section with some of my favorite news sources. The SANS Stormcast is a good place to start - it's a 5 minute podcast every weekday morning that covers most of the big things. Black Hills Infosec also does a weekly news livestream on YouTube that's similar (but longer and with more banter). Also, a lot of infosec folks hang out on Mastodon & in the wider fediverse. Let me know if you want some recs for folks to follow over there.
The nice thing about cybersecurity (and computer-related fields in general, I find) is that there are a ton of free resources out there to help you learn. Sometimes it's harder to find the higher-quality ones, but let me know if there are any topics you're interested in & I'll see what I can find. I have a few posts in my cybersecurity tag on here that might help.
Thank you for your patience, I know you sent this in over a week ago lol but life has been busy. Feel free to send any follow-up questions if you have any!

made some replikas!

Replika Overview: GANR
Generisch-Angreifer-Neutralisation-Replika
- 'Gans' -
(Generic Attacker Neutralization Replika 'Goose')
Type: Generation 3 Specialized Combat Unit
Frame: Biomechanical with Polyethylene Shell and Reinforced Bullet-Resistant Armor Plating
Height: 200cm (6'7")
Considered the 'older brother' of the STAR units, GANRs are specialized protektor units designed to suppress violence and ensure civilian safety. Gans work best when deployed as backup for Starlings, with their heavier frame creating a more stable back line for the STAR units. Their detached demeanor helps them stay collected in high-stakes environments, allowing civilian safety to remain the number one priority.
Known Issues: GANR
Gans tend to have a level of disconnect from observed reality, which, while helpful in combat, can cause problems in their relationships with other Replikas. Gans will respect and navigate within the hierarchy Stars use - as such, protocols involving promotion of STAR units will also have an impact on GANRs. Their personas are stablized by regular combat training. Access to a gymnasium or shooting range is recommended.

Replika Overview: TABR
Techniscerarbeiter-Beitreb-Replika
- 'Taube' -
(Technical Worker Operation Replika 'Dove')
Type: Generation 2 Low-Cost Technology and Maintenance
Frame: Biomechanical with Polyethylene Shell
Height: 180cm (5'11")
Often seen as the technical counterpart to the ARAR, Taube units possess expansive knowledge of machinery in both software and hardware. Doves are the most efficient unit for information technology and mechanic applications. Taube units are patient and enjoy repetitive and monotonous tasks such as data entry. Taubes come pre-equipped with a flashlight module for working in dark spaces.
Known Issues: TABR
Doves are the most antisocial of the commonly applied Replikas, preferring to spend their time on work or personal projects. These units are likely to develop unusual sleeping patterns and short tempers. To remedy this, an ARAR or EULR can be paired with one, as the presence of another Replika alone can help regulate the TABR's neural patterns. Their personas are stablized by dismantling and reassembling objects. For this reason, puzzles or broken devices make good Fetish objects.
#stari mumbles#stari's art#signalis#signalis oc#i remember seeing someone else with a taube replika but i couldnt find it

Mini Lore Nugget #8:
Mini Lore Nuggets - Masterlist
In the Fever Part.2 Diary Entries, we learned that Z-World's government really started shooting up on the waking-nightmare-scale after they began running AI simulations to come up with the "best" policies to implement for maximum control and efficiency.
What resulted from these simulations was that the AI determined all crimes and terrorism were strictly the result of human emotions. Therefore, the best way to rid the world of such suffering must be to eradicate emotions and all which might evoke it.
Z's government developed technology to essentially numb the population - the chips we later learned about in the World Ep.1 Diary Entries. In the Fever Part.3 Diary Entries, we then got some additional info on the AI software used by the government: it was an AI system which utilized deep learning technology and ran uncontrolled for a while as the government awaited its results.
During this time, the system began treating human emotion as a bug - perhaps because it couldn't understand it - and it also started estimating humans' individual energy, thereby reducing it to a product. And since it found it to be a product, it also began treating it as a tradeable commodity.
Instead of questioning these results, the government was more likely delighted, because they immediately took over this new energy trading platform, banned all arts and emotions, and wilfully stripped the population of its humanity by treating them as nothing more than components needed to maintain the governments' idea of a utopia.
youtube
Out here in the real world, we've also begun to see the crazy amount of negative consequences since AI technology has become widely implemented in pretty much all areas of life:
#1 - Use of AI in Healthcare
In the US, the healthcare system has been relying on AI powered algorithms to guide health care decisions, but due to the data sampled by the AI, extreme racial bias has crept in and is actively putting black lives at risk. To quote Science Journal:
At a given risk score, Black patients are considerably sicker than White patients, as evidenced by signs of uncontrolled illnesses. Remedying this disparity would increase the percentage of Black patients receiving additional help from 17.7 to 46.5%.
Furthermore, the data sourced by AI for global use (such as in risk-prediction) is often extremely biased in other ways as well: radiology manuscripts are over represented, the majority of documents sourced are authored by men, and data-poor regions are grossly underrepresented, meaning the majority of information sourced comes from the US and China. [Source]
#2 - YouTube's Algorithm Is Messed Up
According to the Tech Transparency Project which has gathered data from another study:
YouTube recommended hundreds of videos about guns and gun violence to accounts for boys interested in video games. Some of the recommended videos gave instructions on how to convert guns into automatic weapons or depicted school shootings. Many of the videos violated YouTube’s own policies on firearms, violence, and child safety, and YouTube took no apparent steps to age-restrict them. YouTube also recommended a movie about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to minor accounts.
Further watching on dumb stuff YouTube AI features have done to fuck people over:
youtube
#3 - Ethics Has Left the Chat
#4 - The Physical Cost of Generative AI
Where Meta has recently constructed a 2 million square foot data facility in Georgia, a nearby living couple have documented the devastating consequences to the environment and their lives.
Facilities like these are used to power stuff like Chat GPT, Gemini, etc.:
In order for them to function as needed, they put a huge toll on the power grid and require the construction of an entirely new infrastructure atop the usual servers, storage systems and networking equipment.
For one, AI data centres require high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs) which come with their own required infrastructure needs (advanced storage, networking, energy and cooling capabilities). The sheer number of GPUs necessary for AI use alone then already add a ton more square footage to the size of the data centre.
On top of that, living in a county with a data centre like this in the US drives up the cost of electricity for everyone in the county.
And what does all this mean for the environment? Deforestation. Light pollution. Air pollution. Here is a still frame from a video shot by a woman living over 366 meters away from an AI centre's construction site:
All this pollution then started seeping into the ground water, resulting in this:
And what does that mean for someone living nearby? Dishwashers breaking. Washing machines breaking. Water pressure dropping to the point where you can't even flush a toilet anymore because all the pipes are clogged with sediment.
On a global scale, it should also be noted that:
According to the Washington Post in collaboration with the University of California, Riverside, writing a single 100-word email in Open AI's ChatGPT is the equivalent of consuming just over one bottle of water.
Shaolei Ren, an associate professor of engineering at UC Riverside, says that while "We haven’t come to the point yet where AI has tangibly taken away our most essential natural water resources," the use of AI in places with frequent droughts has caused rising tension between communities who need the water and data centers. Not to mention, hardware production pollutes water, per a study initially published in January 2015 in the Journal of Cleaner Production, due to the extraction of precious minerals like boron, silicon, and phosphorous.
[Source]
UPDATE:
A new video has been released which takes a look at Memphis where Elon Musk had the data center built that allows for Twitter's Chat-Bot Gronk to exist, and here is what was discovered:
No regulatory body has been informed of what is operating within that facility.
Large turbines are causing noise pollution (far more turbines than is reasonable).

#5 - Use of AI in Warfare
Israel has been using untested and undisclosed AI-powered databases in order to identify targets and plan bombing campaigns throughout Gaza, which has reportedly led to the loss of thousands of civilian lives.
And who provided this technology? Google. For fear of losing business to Amazon. And not just them. Microsoft too has been collaborating with the Israeli military, as has Amazon who collaborated with Google in 2021 to establish "Project Nimbus" which continues on to this day with zero transparency or accountability.

Beyond that, even after the bombs were dropped, drones would come in to specifically target surviving children and it is known that Israel utilized AI-powered drones for carrying out precise assassinations and various combat missions.

Outside of Israel, Ukraine has also been using AI-technology in its warfare:

#6 - AI-Generated Art
With AI-generated art flooding social media and streaming platforms on the daily, it's getting harder and harder for new artists to enter the scene. On top of that, all the recommendations you're getting online - be that on an image search, streaming platform or elsewhere - are also all the result of AI-powered algorithms.
And as we all know, generative AI is trained on data banks filled to the brim with stolen art from non-consenting artists across the globe - be that musicians, painters, photographers, voice actors, chefs, or writers.
All of this ultimately shapes the world we live in. Those in the know are now full of mistrust of corporations, new information, articles, and media. Anything and anyone is being accused of using AI when they post something online by skeptics, and those who don't know any better are living in blissful ignorance while they're being spoon-fed misinformation left, right, and center.

Final Note:
Not all AI is bad, of course. There have been major breakthroughs in all fields of science thanks to AI which will bring about positive change for (hopefully) all of humanity.
But the problem is that the technology is developing far too quickly for lawmakers to keep up with (as planned, most likely, by all the billionaire tech bros on this planet) and generative AI in particular should have never been made publicly accessible. It should have remained in the hands of trained professionals who know how to use it responsibly.

How ERP Software for Engineering Companies Improves Operational Efficiency
In today's competitive market, engineering companies are under immense pressure to deliver innovative solutions, maintain cost-efficiency, and meet tight deadlines—all while ensuring the highest standards of quality. As the engineering industry becomes more complex and digitally driven, operational efficiency has become a key metric for success. One of the most transformative tools driving this change is ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.

For companies seeking to streamline their operations, ERP software for engineering companies provides a centralized platform that integrates every function—ranging from procurement, design, production, finance, HR, and project management. In India, especially in industrial hubs like Delhi, the demand for such software is growing rapidly. Let us explore how ERP systems significantly enhance operational efficiency and why choosing the right ERP software company in India is vital for engineering enterprises.
Centralized Data Management: The Foundation of Efficiency
One of the major challenges engineering companies face is managing vast amounts of data across departments. Manual entries and siloed systems often lead to redundancies, errors, and miscommunication. With ERP software for engineering companies in India, organizations gain access to a unified database that connects all operational areas.
Real-time data availability ensures that everyone, from the design team to procurement and finance, is working with the latest information. This reduces rework, improves collaboration, and speeds up decision-making, thereby increasing efficiency.
Streamlined Project Management
Engineering projects involve numerous stages—from planning and design to execution and maintenance. Tracking timelines, resources, costs, and deliverables manually or via disparate systems often results in delays and budget overruns.
Modern engineering ERP software companies in Delhi provide robust project management modules that allow firms to plan, schedule, and monitor projects in real time. This includes milestone tracking, Gantt charts, resource allocation, and budget forecasting. Managers can gain visibility into bottlenecks early on and reallocate resources efficiently, ensuring timely delivery.
Automation of Core Processes
Automating routine tasks is one of the key advantages of implementing ERP software. From generating purchase orders and invoices to managing payroll and inventory, ERP eliminates the need for repetitive manual work. This not only saves time but also minimizes human error.
The best ERP software provider in India will offer customizable automation workflows tailored to the specific needs of engineering companies. For instance, when a material stock reaches a minimum threshold, the ERP system can automatically generate a requisition and notify the purchasing team. This ensures zero downtime due to material shortages.
Enhanced Resource Planning and Allocation
Resource planning is crucial in engineering projects where labour, materials, and machinery must be utilized efficiently. A good ERP software for engineering companies provides detailed insights into resource availability, utilization rates, and project requirements.
By analysing this data, companies can better allocate resources, avoid overbooking, and reduce idle time. This leads to significant cost savings and ensures optimal productivity across the board.
youtube
Integration with CAD and Design Tools
Many ERP solution providers in Delhi now offer integration with design and CAD software. This is particularly useful for engineering firms where design data is often needed for procurement, costing, and production.
When ERP is integrated with CAD, design changes automatically reflect across related departments. This seamless flow of information eliminates miscommunication and ensures that downstream processes such as procurement and manufacturing are aligned with the latest design specifications.
Real-time Cost and Budget Management
Keeping engineering projects within budget is a continuous challenge. Unexpected costs can arise at any stage, and without proper monitoring, they can spiral out of control. ERP software providers in India equip engineering companies with real-time budget tracking tools.
From initial cost estimation to actual expenditure, companies can monitor every aspect of the financials. Alerts can be configured for budget deviations, helping management take corrective action promptly. This financial control is a cornerstone of operational efficiency and long-term profitability.
Improved Compliance and Documentation
Engineering companies must adhere to various compliance standards, certifications, and audit requirements. Maintaining accurate documentation and audit trails is critical. ERP systems automate compliance tracking and generate necessary documentation on demand.
By partnering with trusted ERP software companies in Delhi, engineering firms can ensure they meet industry standards with minimal administrative overhead. Features like document versioning, digital signatures, and compliance checklists help organizations stay audit-ready at all times.
Scalable and Future-ready Solutions
One of the biggest advantages of working with a reputed engineering ERP software company in Delhi is access to scalable solutions. As engineering businesses grow, their operational complexities increase. Modern ERP systems are modular and scalable, allowing businesses to add new functionalities as needed without disrupting existing operations.
Moreover, cloud-based ERP solutions offer flexibility, remote access, and lower infrastructure costs. These are especially beneficial for engineering companies that operate across multiple locations or work on-site with clients.
Enhanced Customer Satisfaction
Efficient operations lead to improved delivery timelines, better quality products, and faster customer service—all of which directly impact customer satisfaction. With ERP, engineering companies can maintain accurate production schedules, meet delivery deadlines, and respond to customer queries with real-time information.
By choosing the right ERP software for engineering companies in India, firms not only improve internal operations but also build a strong reputation for reliability and professionalism among their clients.
Choosing the Right ERP Partner
With the growing number of ERP solution providers in India, selecting the right partner is crucial. Here are a few factors to consider:
Domain Expertise: Choose a vendor with experience in the engineering sector.
Customization: The software should be tailored to suit your specific workflows.
Scalability: Ensure the ERP solution grows with your business.
Support & Training: Opt for companies that provide ongoing support and employee training.
Integration Capabilities: Check whether the ERP can integrate with your existing systems, including CAD tools, financial software, etc.
Trusted ERP software companies in Delhi like Shantitechnology (STERP) stand out because they offer deep industry knowledge, scalable platforms, and dedicated customer support—making them ideal partners for engineering businesses seeking to transform operations.

How to Choose the Best CRM Software for Your Business
Choosing the right CRM software for your business is a big decision — and the right one can make a world of difference. Whether you’re running a small startup or managing a growing company, having an effective CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system helps you keep track of customers, boost sales, and improve overall productivity. Let’s walk through how you can choose the best CRM for your business without getting overwhelmed.
Why Your Business Needs a CRM
A CRM isn’t just a tool — it’s your business’s central hub for managing relationships. If you’re still relying on spreadsheets or scattered notes, you’re probably losing time (and leads). A good CRM helps you:
Keep customer data organized in one place
Track leads, sales, and follow-ups
Automate routine tasks
Get insights into sales performance
Improve customer service
The goal is simple: work smarter, not harder. And with an affordable CRM that fits your needs, you’ll see faster growth and smoother processes.
Define Your Business Goals
Before diving into features, figure out what you actually need. Ask yourself:
Are you trying to increase sales or improve customer service?
Do you need better lead tracking or marketing automation?
How big is your team, and how tech-savvy are they?
What’s your budget?
Knowing your goals upfront keeps you from wasting time on CRMs that might be packed with unnecessary features — or worse, missing key ones.
Must-Have Features to Look For
When comparing CRM options, focus on features that truly matter for your business. Here are some essentials:
Contact Management – Store customer details, interactions, and notes all in one place.
Lead Tracking – Follow leads through the sales funnel and never miss a follow-up.
Sales Pipeline Management – Visualize where your deals stand and what needs attention.
Automation – Save time by automating emails, reminders, and data entry.
Customization – Adjust fields, workflows, and dashboards to match your process.
Third-Party Integrations – Ensure your CRM connects with other software you rely on, like email marketing tools or accounting systems.
Reports & Analytics – Gain insights into sales, performance, and customer behavior.
User-Friendly Interface – If your team finds it clunky or confusing, they won’t use it.
Budget Matters — But Value Matters More
A CRM doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Plenty of affordable CRM options offer robust features without the hefty price tag. The key is balancing cost with value. Don’t just chase the cheapest option — pick a CRM that supports your business growth.
Take LeadHeed, for example. It’s an affordable CRM designed to give businesses the tools they need — like lead management, sales tracking, and automation — without stretching your budget. It’s a smart pick if you want to grow efficiently without overpaying for features you won’t use.
Test Before You Commit
Most CRMs offer a free trial — and you should absolutely use it. A CRM might look great on paper, but it’s a different story when you’re actually using it. During your trial period, focus on:
How easy it is to set up and start using
Whether it integrates with your existing tools
How fast you can access and update customer information
If your team finds it helpful (or frustrating)
A trial gives you a real feel for whether the CRM is a good fit — before you commit to a paid plan.
Think About Long-Term Growth
Your business might be small now, but what about next year? Choose a CRM that grows with you. Look for flexible pricing plans, scalable features, and the ability to add more users or advanced functions down the line.
It’s better to pick a CRM that can expand with your business than to go through the hassle of switching systems later.
Check Customer Support
Even the best software can hit a snag — and when that happens, you’ll want reliable support. Look for a CRM that offers responsive customer service, whether that’s live chat, email, or phone. A system is only as good as the help you get when you need it.
Read Reviews and Compare
Don’t just rely on the CRM’s website. Read reviews from other businesses — especially ones similar to yours. Sites like G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot offer honest insights into what works (and what doesn’t). Comparing multiple CRMs ensures you make a well-rounded decision.
The Bottom Line
Choosing the best CRM software for your business doesn’t have to be complicated. By understanding your goals, focusing on essential features, and keeping scalability and budget in mind, you’ll find a CRM that fits like a glove.
If you’re looking for an affordable CRM Software that checks all the right boxes — without cutting corners — LeadHeed is worth exploring. It’s built to help businesses like yours manage leads, automate tasks, and gain valuable insights while staying within budget.
The right CRM can transform how you run your business. Take the time to find the one that supports your growth, keeps your team organized, and helps you deliver an even better experience to your customers.

Identifying Your Target Audience in the BPO Industry
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is when companies hire external providers to take care of certain tasks, such as customer service, data entry, and finance-related work. This allows businesses to focus on what they do best, while saving money and benefiting from experts who specialize in these areas.
Countries like the Philippines and India are known for their strong BPO industries because they offer high-quality services at lower prices. Depending on the business's needs, BPO providers offer different types of services.
For example, a company in the Philippines may focus on customer support, while an Indian BPO might handle data processing or software development.
In short, BPO helps businesses grow, keep their customers happy, and save money by outsourcing tasks to the right experts.
What is Sales?
Sales is simply the act of selling products or services in exchange for money. It's a crucial part of any business because it helps generate income and supports growth. When it comes to BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) services, sales is about convincing companies to hire an outsourcing firm for tasks like customer service, data entry, finance solutions, and more.
In BPO, sales teams need to understand what services they offer, what their potential clients need, and how outsourcing can help. A good sales approach means knowing how to connect with clients, explaining how outsourcing can solve their problems, and showing the real benefits, like saving money and improving customer satisfaction.
Successful BPO sales often involve crafting personalized pitches that speak directly to a client’s challenges and showing how outsourcing can make a difference. The goal is to offer solutions that not only meet the client's needs but also bring measurable improvements.
Category Audience Segment:
A critical element of any sales strategy is identifying the stage of readiness at which your target audience is currently at in the buying process. This segmentation can help you craft tailored messages and approaches that align with their level of interest. The audience is typically segmented into three categories: cold, warm, and hot.
Cold Audience: A cold audience refers to individuals or companies that have little to no prior knowledge of your business, products, or services. They are not yet engaged and may not be aware of the need for the solutions you offer. For example, a Philippines BPO company reaching out to a cold audience may need to start by educating potential clients on the value of outsourcing customer service to the Philippines, highlighting the advantages of lower labor costs, access to skilled workers, and cultural compatibility.
Warm Audience: A warm audience has shown some level of interest in your BPO services, either by visiting your website, engaging with your social media posts, or requesting more information. They may have a problem that your services can solve, but they are still evaluating their options. For example, a company looking for data entry services might have shown initial interest by asking for a demo or pricing information. Engaging this audience effectively requires personalized follow-up communication, showcasing how your solutions are better suited to their specific needs compared to other competitors.
Hot Audience: A hot audience is a highly engaged group, actively considering your services and on the verge of making a purchase decision. They may have already contacted you, requested proposals, or signed up for a trial. In this case, your goal is to close the deal by providing additional value, addressing any remaining concerns, and making the process of purchasing your services as easy as possible. For instance, an organization looking for finance BPO solutions may be in the final stages of selecting a vendor, so it's crucial to differentiate your services with case studies, testimonials, and clear pricing structures.
Reach Out to Target Audience
Once you've identified your target audience and segmented them into cold, warm, or hot categories, it’s time to reach out effectively. The way you approach each segment will differ. For a cold audience, educational content and awareness campaigns may be the most effective approach. You could use blogs, social media posts, whitepapers, or email newsletters to educate prospects on the benefits of outsourcing, including services like customer service outsourcing
For warm prospects, follow-up emails, personalized demos, or even phone calls can be more effective in keeping them engaged. Offering case studies of companies that have successfully benefited from your BPO services, such as a US-based outsourcing firm helping clients streamline operations, can help nudge them closer to a decision.
For hot prospects, your outreach should be direct and focused on facilitating a smooth transition to becoming a client. Offer personalized consultations, contract negotiation assistance, and an easy onboarding process to convert them into paying customers.
Define and Pinpoint Your Target
To effectively target and pinpoint your audience, start by clearly defining the buyer persona. A buyer persona is a detailed representation of your ideal customer, including demographic information, pain points, and specific needs. In the case of a BPO company, your buyer persona could include large corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), or startups looking to outsource processes such as finance management.
Understanding the specific pain points of your target audience is crucial. For example, a company in the retail industry may need customer support outsourcing to manage high volumes of customer queries during peak seasons.
In conclusion, pinpointing your target audience is critical to successfully selling BPO services. By defining your target, segmenting the audience into cold, warm, or hot categories, and using the right outreach strategies, you can effectively engage prospects, increase conversions, and drive business growth. Whether you're offering outsourced customer service, data entry services, or finance solutions, understanding your audience is key to delivering value and fostering long-term business relationships.

MAKE YOUR OWN (2025) AO3 WRAPPED!
I'm going to start this off by saying that this does take a lot of leg work on the user end, and a little bit of setup to customize for your preferences. I made all of this from scratch with a limited-moderate understanding of spreadsheets & a lot of queries to Reddit forums, and its not completely perfect or bug-free, but it does what I wanted it to do in general, and I had fun with it, so I thought I'd make it available to share!
The first thing you'll need to do is open the link above and select File -> make a copy. This will make a copy saved to your account that can be edited to your preferences & with your fic history/information. I don't have a business account, so I can't create a template, and this is the best option I found! (Also, sorry if you don't want to use G**gl* I really couldn't find a program that did all the things I wanted it to do and was also shareable)
The second thing you may want to do to personalize the spreadsheet to your own tastes is to edit the list of AU/Theme options for the dropdown. To do this, simply click into the dropdown menu on the first table row and click the "edit" pencil at the bottom right. I included a few that I prefer to read and/or want to keep track of through the year, but it will of course vary by reader, so feel free to edit this list to your hearts content.
To make sure the charts are accurate, once your list is finalized, click into the "Reference" tab at the bottom of the page, and find the table titled "AU or Theme." (This is where it starts to get a little tricky & technical, though if you have experience with formulas, it shouldn't be too sticky.)
You will need to delete any columns that are no longer listed in your dropdown menu, and add a column for any new additions. Once your table columns match your dropdown list, make sure the formula in the row beneath each column matches the one below:
=COUNTIFS('Data Entry'!K2:K,"*AU*")
You can copy/paste this formula into the cell beneath each of your AU/Theme columns, making sure to change the red text to match the text from your dropdown menu for each column/category.
And that's it for the setup! At this point, you can hide the "Reference" sheet if you want, as you shouldn't need to look at it unless you add options to the AU/Theme dropdown, or you add or delete columns from the Data Entry sheet.
All you'll need to do is enter the information for each fic you read on a new line in the table on the "Data Entry" sheet, and you'll have a beautiful list of all the fics you read this year, and charts on the "Charts" tab will automatically generate to show how your fandoms, pairings, ratings, AUs/Themes break down, as well as showing your work/word count per month and total for the year.
If you want to create a wrapped video (like the one in my original post), the charts on the Reference page will come in handy for top author/pairing pages, but they can be clunky to look at, so I've not included them with the Charts page.
The biggest issue I have with this setup is WIPs - there's not really an accurate way to list WIPs so that your word/work count is 100% accurate by month, since as the work updates, you'd either need to add an additional line per chapter (skewing the work count) OR change the word count on the original line and update the "date completed" field (this skews the word count, but is the option I choose to use). If you have any advice or expertise on this, PLEASE feel free to reach out!!!
And last but CERTAINLY not least, I want to include a link to the super amazing Canva template I used to create the video! AO3's brand colors, fonts & logo are all publicly available and easy to find, and I just used bits and pieces of that to edit the template.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy! If you have suggestions or requests, please DM me and I will try my best to help <3

Hey!!! I saw that u are working in cybersecurity as someone who is looking for jobs in the software/data science industry it'd mean a lot to me if you could refer me to an open role or help out a bit please?
hi! unfortunately I don't know of any open roles other than just what would be on job search websites (it is really a nightmare out there for finding entry-level positions 🙃) but do let me know if there's anything else I could help out with!
I got my job after doing an internship with my current company, and I got the internship by showing up to a recruiting event they had at my college and just talking to people, participating in the little tech challenge they had, and doing a "by the way here's my resume" when I sent in my answers lol. it still amazes me that it worked but here I am haha.
my top tip I guess is to take advantage of any chance you have to talk to an actual human person, whether through recruiting events or finding industry meetups in your area or something else, because that will make the entire process Way Easier than just submitting a million resumes to every open job alongside everyone else who is also submitting a million resumes to every open job.
also you probably know this, but I was chatting with someone else in the industry recently about how his daughter graduated recently & couldn't find a job (in marketing rather than tech, but still kinda the same boat). he wasn't sure if an internship was worth it or not and I told him oh it's absolutely worth it. from what I've seen and from my friends who are job searching right now, it's basically impossible to get a tech job if you haven't done an internship, and some of the internships out there want you to have experience already. it is truly a nightmare tbh, but any way to get experience will help out. certifications are a big thing in cybersecurity and I imagine that data science is similar?
it really is hard out there right now though so I wish you the best of luck! internship application season is getting ready to start (or at least the big companies always hire their summer interns in September/October from what I've seen) so hopefully some good positions will open up :D
(oh and also obligatory "I live in the United States" disclaimer, idk what the state of the industry is anywhere else)
#asks#I rambled way more than I needed to here and you've probably heard all of it before but hopefully something helps??#job searching does suck and I hope everything goes well for you!!

How to Choose the Best CRM Tool for Your Small Business?

One out of five small businesses fail within the first year. No, this is not to demotivate you but to show you the reality of how important the first five years of a small business are. Most small businesses struggle to deal with customers as customers have different needs, and managing all your different customers feels next to impossible; that’s why you need CRM software.
Customer relationship management (CRM) software has revolutionised the way businesses interact with customers. It helps reduce the need for manual input by automating key processes like tracking customer interactions, managing leads, and organising sales pipelines. CRM software is proven to increase business productivity and efficiency and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Before you put your skates on and look for a CRM tool, it is crucial to choose a CRM tool that is perfect for your business, as the internet is flooded with tons of CRM software. Here are the key factors to consider when selecting the best CRM tool for your small business.
1. Identify Your Business Needs
Before diving into the technical details of various CRM tools, it’s important to clearly identify your business’s unique needs. Ask yourself questions like:
- What are your current pain points in customer management?
- Are you looking to streamline sales, marketing, or customer service processes?
- How many people will be using the CRM system?
Once you understand your specific goals, choosing CRM software will be quite easy for you as you can prioritise what features the software must have.
2. User-Friendly Interface
As a small business, you most likely won’t have a tech-savvy and highly experienced team, so it is crucial to choose CRM software with a user-friendly interface. A simple and user-friendly interface will allow your team to quickly adapt and use the software efficiently. Look for a CRM that offers an intuitive dashboard, easy navigation, and simple data entry processes.
Additionally, many CRM tools offer free trials, so take advantage of this to assess whether the platform is easy for your team to use and navigate.
3. Affordability
Most small businesses don’t have massive profits and income-generating revenues, so it is crucial not to get overexcited and choose CRM software that suits your budget. CRM software with more features and capabilities will cost more, so it is vital to understand your business needs and opt for a CRM that doesn’t break the bank and gets the job done. Groweon CRM software is quite affordable and has tons of features, so it is a great choice for small businesses.
4. Scalability
As your business grows, your CRM should be able to grow with you. Look for a CRM solution that offers scalable features so that you don’t outgrow the tool as your customer base expands. A scalable CRM will allow you to add new users, customise workflows, and integrate additional tools without disruption.
Choosing a CRM that can scale alongside your business will save you the hassle of transitioning to a new platform as your needs evolve.
5. Mobile Accessibility
In today’s fast-paced business environment, having access to your CRM data on the go is essential. Mobile accessibility enables you to update and access customer information, track sales, and communicate with your team from anywhere. This is particularly useful for small business owners or sales teams who spend a significant amount of time out of the office.
Ensure that the CRM tool you choose offers a robust mobile application that is easy to use and provides the same level of functionality as its desktop version.
6. Customer Support
Reliable customer support is crucial, especially when you’re first implementing a CRM system. Small businesses often lack the in-house expertise to troubleshoot technical issues, so having access to a responsive support team can make a significant difference.
Look for CRM providers that offer 24/7 customer support, training resources, and user communities. Some CRM tools even offer dedicated account managers for small businesses, ensuring that you get personalised help whenever needed.
Conclusion
Choosing the best CRM tool for your small business can make a world of difference to your business’s operations and massively improve productivity. No matter what industry you are in, ideal CRM software can transform the way you manage customers.

Strip the Data, Salt the Misinfo: A Borderlands Fanbase PSA/Rant
TL;DR: The current Borderlands wiki sucks huge balls for anything after and including BL3, but it also sucks for other reasons and the best way to fix it would be just to nuke it and move on to Miraheze.
I am a huge Borderlands fan. It's my special interest, in fact. Everyone knows that. I'm quite invested in the community, though not as much as I would like to be, despite my constant attempts to garner attention in various places that are not named Tumblr. In fact, I am invested enough to frequent various sites focusing on this video game series.
And there is a major problem with one of the biggest sites dedicated to it:
The Wiki.
At first, it seems like a good place to get information regarding the series, both its gameplay and story. But you would be solely wrong.
While it does provide accurate information on the gameplay, guns, loot and boss attacks of every looter shooter entry, it is massively lacking on the story front. Especially after and during BL3.
Let's look at some examples.

This is Krieg's quote page. Not only is every single one of his BL2 quotes displayed, it's also got the audio files for all of them!
But the BL3 ones? It only transcribes the base game ECHO logs he talks in. No audio, and none of his many, many PKatFF lines.
In one of his videos, the youtuber ItzTermx compares Krieg's quote page and Fl4k's quote page in an attempt to showcase the superiority of BL2's dialogue. But in reality, Fl4k has significantly more quotes than Krieg, they are simply unlisted on the wiki. Where are they then, you may ask?

Fucking TvTropes of all places, not the main wiki.
I used the quote pages as an example, but this isn't the only case where this disparity is true. Check the wiki for yourself, and you'll see that every single BL2 and TPS quest, main or side, has a detailed transcript. What do the BL3 quests get?

This. A plain objective list.
And this is not even touching upon the incredibly incomplete - hell, MISSING Crew Challenge pages, and of course... the critical lack of lore/character information.
I will use a youtuber as an example here yet again.
youtube
This is EruptionFang's video on Wainwright Jakobs. EruptionFang is widely the most popular Borderlands lore youtuber, if not the only one that actually has a somewhat large following.
In this video, he openly says we don't know how he met Hammerlock. This is a blatant lie! We do know! An idle line in DLC 2 reveals that they met on a hunting expedition!
Of course, getting through idle lines is a slog, since you're likely to get repeats, so there must be an easier way to access this information.
Does the wiki say anything about it? No. But you know what does?
THE LOCALIZATION FILE. WHICH I DATAMINED MYSELF, BECAUSE THE WIKI IS SO INCOMPLETE.
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW BULLSHIT THAT IS? PEOPLE USE THIS WIKI AS A RESOURCE, AND SAID RESOURCE IS VERY INADEQUATE.
You might ask: "why don't you contribute yourself, then?"
You see, the Borderlands Wiki is well, a Fandom Wiki. The site that's known for being infested with ads and autoplay videos, which are 99% of the time completely irrelevant to whatever you're viewing. There's a reason I use Breezewiki.
Fandom is awful to use, and especially difficult to browse through. It's an accessibility issue, something you definitely don't want in a place meant to provide information. I am not willing to contribute to such a place.
You might ask, then, is there an alternative?
This is Miraheze. It's ad free, community run, and non-profit. It uses the same software as Wikipedia, and provides a similar, accessible look. If this community managed to move there (and toss a coin or two to Miraheze, they're accepting donations!), we could foster a significantly more accessible environment.
I hope y'all enjoyed reading this edition of me malding over something seemingly innocuous. Before anyone asks, yes, I allow sharing of this post to other websites. The Borderlands community deserves to be aware of this.
