moonlight, sunrise
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: trent alexander arnold x fem!reader
summary: after trent's first time captaining his boyhood club, you can't help showing him your appreciation [wc: ~700]
contents: tooth rotting fluff, established relationship, captain trent ‼️, food mention, not proofread yet 🏃‍♀️
note: needed to write a little something for my boy <3
now playing: moonlight sunrise by twice (ready to be)
you were absolutely stoked when darwin scored a late goal for your team, winning newcastle 2-1. during all the game, your thoughts went to your boyfriend, who captained his team after van dijk got red carded. you knew how much his boyhood club meant to him and how much he adored it, so being vice captain was a huge honour. after the final whistle, you grabbed your phone to send him a quick text; "congrats on today's win my captain !! can't wait to celebrate with you tonight xx". you knew he wouldn't answer right away so you got up to prepare trent's surprise.
you put on your favourite playlist, and searched for everything you needed to make some pizzas, from the dough to the toppings, you had everything you needed. trent loved your pizzas, you weren't the best cook around but it was the one dish you could never miss.
you tried shaping the dough into little hearts, colouring them with bright red tomato sauce. your addiction to 'good pizza great pizza' helped you create the best pizza with trent's favourite toppings.
while you were finishing the last couple mini pizzas, you felt someone hug you from behind.
"they look so good, you really outdone yourself with these." you heard trent's voice in your ears.
"no ! they were supposed to be a surprise... please pretend you never saw this." you say in a disappointed tone, you must have been too distracted by your music to hear trent coming home.
"alright, alright. can i help you with the last one at least ?"
"of course not, you can't help making your own gift." you refused, but trent wouldn't take no for an answer. he placed the toppings to form a smiley face on the heart pizza. you snapped a quick picture of your masterpiece before putting it in the oven.
your boyfriend set up the table while you lit up some scented candles. these kinds of evenings were your favourites. the evenings when your boyfriend's was just yours, not the media's or the fans'. just trent, just yours.
trent was taken aback when you hugged his back, resting your head on his shoulder.
"you know i'm proud of you, right ? you did great today mister liverpool captain."
"i think you might have mentioned that a couple of times. thank you for believing in me pretty girl." he pressed a kiss on your lips before getting the pizzas out of the oven.
you ate your pizzas in front of a movie trent picked, of course, under the covers you brought to your living room, intently listing to each other's comments as silly as they might have been.
quickly enough, you fell asleep and felt trent's arms carrying you to your shared bedroom.
"where are we going ?" you asked him in a sleepy voice, even though you already knew the answer.
"to bed ratatouille."
"don't compare me to a rat." you huffed in disapproval of his newfound nickname for you.
"you're the rat that makes the best pizzas in the whole world."
you both cuddled up under your covers, and you felt tiredness get the best of you, trent must have felt it as well.
"goodnight, i love you." he said pressing a kiss on your cheek, after turning off the lights.
"i love you too, sleep well my captain."
trent's light strokes on your arm and his slow breathing lulled you to sleep swiftly. these were really your favourite nights, in the company of your favourite boy.

inspired by the manchester anon haha but do you have any tips and suggestions for visiting leeds? 🩷
I've lived here for 2 years now (!!!) but somehow I still don't really know my way around and just go to the same 5 places and use google maps to get anywhere else. it's sad. but here's some shit I love:
Grindhouse - cheap drinks, loads and loads of seats, never too full, music a reasonable volume, and they project 80s movies on the back wall. we once sat in here for 2 hours cos Stand By Me was on. one time we watched the bar staff earnestly tell a group of women on a hen do that the bar was closed and they weren't serving any more drinks, at 7:45pm. 10/10.
Rudy's - only 9 cities* in this fair nation have a Rudy's, so I'm going to keep reccing it for everyone else. perfect Neapolitan pizza. *Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham, Durham, London, York, Liverpool - if you live in one of these places and haven't been to Rudy's yet, sort it out.
Neon Cactus - go here on a Wednesday and order wings, and you'll get half price margs. lots of great Mexican scran. don't take anyone too picky or over 50, because the price for the great food and vibes is that at least one thing you order will be incorrect. but roll with it. half price margs, man.
Empire Cafe - book in advance if you want to sample the delights of Empire Cafe, cos there's like 6 tables max. everything is seasonal, changes on the daily, and is insanely delicious. if you want to experience heaven, order the steak and chips with salsa verde. there is NOTHING like it.
Stuzzi - another seasonal, small plate sort of place, but Italian. amazing food and a gorgeous restaurant. go with a big group and order one of everything.
Eat Your Greens - ANOTHER seasonal restaurant! this one is farm-to-fork and organic. I can’t speak to the quality as I haven’t actually been, but I am a frequenter of their GREENGROCER, which is MEGA. last time I think I left with natty wine, pâté, some insane tinned fish, a jar of harissa and a bag of sunset potatoes. if you like food, go here.
SARTO - fresh, handmade pasta and picky bits. another great place to go with a group and order all the starters. I had a celeriac pasta there last year that I think about on a fairly regular basis; I picked it cos it was the weirdest sounding thing on the menu and it was fucking mouthwatering. good quality and good people! and it's next door to The Wardrobe, so perfect for a pre-gig tea.
Santiago Bar - like Grindhouse (alternative, casual) but the music is louder and you'll find yourself doing tequila shots at 1am and screaming along to, like, Don Broco. it's the best.
Blue Collar Boys - as a rule I hate 'vintage' clothes shops (overpriced, ugly, everything is XXS), but this place seems to specialise solely in American t-shirts and sweatshirts from the 90s in exactly my size, and everything is £10. this is amazing and a huge bargain if you find something like vintage Wranglers and a Playboy bomber jacket (£20, my wife) but not so amazing or a bargain if you find 3 t-shirts with holes in (£30, me). we've never been without finding shit we love. they only open on random weekends, and they always seem to have more stuff than they could possibly ever sell. it's a freaky vintage alternate universe.
The Corn Exchange - a big gorgeous ol' building full of little businesses. vintage, handmade, tattoos, coffee, jewellery, independent brands, yarn, shoes, a barbers, a bookshop, they've got it all. very easy to spend £100 and 6 hours. every so often they have a market on the bottom floor. perfect tiny representation of Leeds: quirky, independent, delicious, cool.
Silver's Deli - this is a 9-minute train ride away in Bramley (my ends!) but has become THEE buzzy foodie spot recently. go on a sunny saturday morning (cos you will probably have to sit outside) and order the everything sandwich. thank me later. if they have scotch eggs or sausage rolls on, I beseech you, order both. and if you want the sunday special prepare to get there at 11 and fight.
Against the Grain - if you've come to Bramley for Silver's, you may as well trundle 10 minutes up the road and visit the best bar in Leeds. cosy, casual, full of locals, hidden in Swinnow Mills. it's a sit-around-and-chat-to-people sort of place, with bonus charcuterie boards AND a pizza van on weekends. we are here A LOT, because Gray's Salon and Rose and Thorn Tattoo are both in the Mill, and we give them all our money. oh! and dog friendly. sooo many dogs.
Project House/Galleria - if you've gotten the train out to Bramley for Silver's and ATG, jump on the 72 back to town and get off at Project House to eat MORE food. Galleria is a great place to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Project House has EVERYTHING (depending on the day). yoga! gigs! vintage fairs! a bi-annual tattoo convention meets makers market with food vendors called Hand of Glory! check what's on and head on down to support local!
Kirkstall Bridge Inn - another one local(ish) to me, but worth travelling out of town for; a PROPER pub (i.e. no tv, no sports, no shite) that does roasts upstairs and lets dogs in downstairs. outdoor seating right by the canal, and every so often they put something on and the car park turns into a tiny festival. Kirkstallpalooza is a highlight. great place to finish a nice canal walk (who am I?!).
tl;dr sorry that this is obnoxiously long, I love Leeds

ee @ rough trade nottingham
finally getting to my little roundup several days later, hello. i must say going to nottingham was a real Choice for @shallowtboy and i, because it is not actually that convenient and close like liverpool is, and i mostly justified it with “well i went there to see dutch uncles in december so it’d be rude not to”. but we woke up and got on our stupid early train regardless.
went to an art gallery beforehand, found a copy of mark fisher’s capitalist realism in the gift shop — alex niven first read capitalist realism in january 2010, following a “head-on collision with the music industry”, did you know. saw a very cute pin of kraftwerk-style cats and nearly cried also.
when we queued up outside the venue (venue! it was Just A Shop) there were a good few people there already and we were glad we got down there when we did. doors were meant to be at 12, but they ended up letting us in half an hour later for some reason, which meant by the time we got in we had descended into some cold-induced madness that manifested in us humming the mad stone and bobbing up and down oompa loompa-style to keep warm for just. SO long. this bit would not cease.
we got in, and we weren’t Right at the front but we were close enough, and there was no barrier aside from the flightcases dumped on the ground, and i had to prepare myself for being waaay too close to jonathan higgs. which i WAS. i believe it was albie on here who said that if you’re in the first two rows at any of these shows you will end up making eye contact with this man, and yeah, that only gets truer if he already sorta knows who you are. EMBARRASSING.
it was a good show — not as rowdy and sweaty as liverpool, but what can you expect from a show at midday on a weekday, really. they played teletype at this one(!!! it’s not on my Playlist for nothing), and pizza boy, and i had a bottle of pepsi in my bag and turned to shallowtboy and took a big swig of it at the right moment because really i come to these gigs to have my own incomprehensible kind of fun with my best friend, and it was Funny. only then in the next chorus jon sang “you are afraid / that you’re a pepsi boy” which i did not really register until After, when shallowtboy pointed it out, and i had to contend with the fact jonathan higgs may well have seen me drinking my pepsi (i was about six feet away from him, he probably did,) and decided to make a thing of it. good god. gender win 🤷‍♂️
after the show it was signing time and we all verrry slowly shuffled out into a sort of queue. i took a photo of alex’s pedalboard on the way out, and said “i don’t know why i’m doing this, it’s not as if i know what any of these do”, and their guitar tech (who i have been mentally referring to as Clayton for various reasons, but i believe is actually called joe) overheard and went “neither do i, hah” and then i started chatting to him about what a shame it was that alex didn’t bring his little modular setup on tour this time round, and he told me all about pete’s ableton routing, and it was VERY FUN thank you claytonjoe for engaging with me. pls don’t find out i’m a massive gear poser.
SPEAKING OF— actual signing time. my rubiks cube was in my bag and i was NOT going to leave without it being signed. i managed to somehow barely interact with jon (cursing myself forever that i did not get to ask about the pepsi incident) but they all seemed fairly unsurprised by being asked to sign a rubiks cube, and all wrote their signatures very neatly in one of the little squares, minus jeremy for some reason. and Then.
i was wearing this shirt with the names of two modular synth brands smushed together, based on ONE decade-old post from this one forum that i had decided was the funniest thing in the world, yet another incomprehensible bit i am doing with myself, really, only turns out it’s the modular synth brands alex robertshaw uses the most. it came up on that podcast he did the other day. it was a real “oh for fucks sake” moment. so i showed him my shirt, and told him as much, and i expected there to be QUESTIONS about why the hell this shirt would exist, but he just thought it was great. (jeremy also approved, and said he saw me wearing it in liverpool. i did not interact with jeremy in liverpool. i was not even standing NEAR jeremy in liverpool.) alex then asked if he could take a photo to send to the guy he did the podcast with. YEAH OKAY SURE WHY WOULDN’T THIS NONSENSE BE HAPPENING TO ME. but he didn’t have his phone with him, i guess?? so he had to borrow mike’s phone???? so there’s a picture of me on mike spearman’s phone, i guess. hope the synth podcast guy did see it in the end.
writing this all out really does make it sound about twenty times more bizarre than it felt at the time. i love this ridiculous weirdo band. /\

Ma Egerton's Stage Door - 9 Pudsey Street Liverpool
I was feeling it was high time I visited this pub. They had some good beers on tap, but I recently saw something about their pizza and thought I'd pop in for lunch. This pub, from 1846, named after the longest operator, Mary Egerton, has all the look and charm you'd expect from an older pub surrounded by theatres of the day, but with close proximity to the Empire Theatre now, they offer food and bev to theatre patrons and actors before and after shows. I ordered the Sean Connery, which was the Margarita Pizza. Good. Coupled with the Dick Turpin best bitter out of Cheshire, it was a really nice visit!

Perfection Flowers For Every Occasion
For those who deserve the best in life, present them with this exquisite floral arrangement! Coral roses, peach roses, pink gerberas and green bupleurum come together in a clear gathering vase.
Throughout the centuries, flowers have become powerful symbols. They can be interpreted as a sign of passion, virginity or loyalty. They have even given rise to myths and legends.
Rose
A definite must-have for every Rose lover, this floral Perfection flowers stands for beauty and grace. These vibrant blooms are perfect for showing your love for someone special, especially when paired with the classic white daisy or pink ranunculus.
Like wine, Rose has a variety of scents and flavors depending on the region and grape varietals used to make it. The lighter the shade of Rose, the more it leans towards a white wine flavor profile with zesty citrus and floral notes. Darker Roses are fuller bodied and can range from red fruit to earthy and herbal nuances.
Try a glass of Provencal Rose from France or Shiraz from Australia paired with a grilled chicken salad and a side of sweet potatoes. Or enjoy a glass of Tempranillo Rose from Spain with tomato-based pasta dishes, pizza and spicy foods.
Stock
Stock, also known as bone broth, is a savory cooking liquid that forms the basis for many dishes. It is made by simmering animal bones, meat, fish, vegetables, or a combination of these ingredients in water or wine for an extended period. A bouquet garni (a bag of herbs or spices that includes parsley, bay leaves and thyme) may be added to impart additional flavor.
Perfect flowers like Sundrops, members of the Evening Primrose family, feature a crazy number of stamens with a four-parted stigma, which makes them look as if an X marks the spot! These beautiful blooms represent perfection.
Lasting beauty and a happy life are both represented by stock flowers, as well as bonds of affection and promptness. Send these beautiful flowers to a loved one who deserves to feel special and admired for their accomplishments. They can also bring good luck and prosperity to anyone who receives them. As a bonus, they are thought to symbolize spiritual attainment.
Calla Lily
A calla lily's delicate blooms are the perfect flower for celebrating special moments. Their sleek curves add a sense of beauty and grace to wedding bouquets and centrepieces. Pair them with orchids and lilies of the valley in cascading bridal bouquets or display them individually as elegant table centerpieces. Calla Lilies can also be preserved using specialized techniques to retain their color, shape and overall appearance for a year or more, making them ideal for long-term decorative purposes and gifting.
In the garden, calla lilies grow best in warm environments with a consistently warm soil. They're typically hardy in zones 8-10, but they can be grown as annuals in colder climates or dug up in the fall and stored indoors to be replanted in the spring.
Callas come in a wide range of colours, from the pristine white of its namesake to exotic hues like deep purples and zesty oranges. Each flower actually houses a series of flowers within its single outside petal, technically known as the spathe.
Mistletoe
Mistletoe is one of the most well-known holiday plants Preserved flowers in Liverpool, but it's also one of the least understood. Traditionally, the plant was hung in homes during the holidays for peace and good luck. It's believed that the Druids were among the first to use it for this purpose, as they valued the plant for its healing properties.
It's also the origin of the tradition of kissing under the mistletoe, although scientists don't know exactly how it became part of Christmas lore. The name mistletoe derives from the Anglo-Saxon words for "dung" and "twig." The plants spread their sticky berries through bird droppings, but they don't sprout spontaneously.
Mistletoe has been used as a medicinal plant since ancient times and is still widely used today, especially in Europe. It's often referred to as the most effective natural cancer therapy and is currently being studied for its effectiveness against other diseases. Supplements made from the European mistletoe (Viscum album) are available under prescription and are given by injection or as a pill.

The Best Wood Fired Pizza in Melbourne
Tumblr media
If you are thinking of ordering a pizza, you’ll want to consider the option of wood-fired pizza. This style of pizza has the ability to make the tomato base even more flavoursome and the toppings more delicious, which will make your overall experience much more enjoyable. Having said that, if you aren’t a fan of the taste of wood-fired pizza, there are many other options to choose from.
Di Parma
If you are looking for an authentic Neapolitan pizza, 400 Gradi is one of the best places to eat in Melbourne. It has a wood-fired brick oven which produces a soft, slightly puffy pie.
The dough is made from sourdough. The pizza base is then fermented for 48 hours, leaving a light, airy crust. The pizza is then baked in the pizza oven, which is cranked up to 400 degrees. The pizza is cooked for just 90 seconds.
The Capitano pizza is made from a tomato base, pickled chilli and pepperoni. It is baked in large rectangular trays.
Leonardo’s Pizza Palace
Leonardo’s Pizza Palace is one of the newest “it” places in Melbourne. The pizza cafe has taken over the former Da Salvatore Pizza by the Metre. The Carlton location features 1970s style wood paneling, leadlight windows and dark brick walls.
The pizza cafe also has a booth dining area. Typically, the Trattoria is crowded with city dwellers. Here, you can watch the chefs work.
The menu is very diverse. In addition to traditional Italian fare, Leonardo’s also offers a vegetarian selection and gluten free options. The restaurant has a cocktail list and offers beers on tap.
Innocent Bystander
Innocent Bystander is a wine shop, wine bar and restaurant in the Healesville area of Melbourne, Victoria. The wine cellar is located in a converted breweries former building, while the wine bar is an impressive 15 metre stone and concrete structure. The wine is poured from recyclable kegs. Using only the finest ingredients, Innocent Bystander produces some pretty yum yum wines.
The restaurant has three main areas. The bar, a booth dining area and a dining room with an impressive custom built oven. The wine shop boasts a full range of wines and cocktails from Everleigh Bottling Co. The restaurant also has its own sommelier to pair your glasses with.
Bontempo
If you’re looking for a high-end, Italian pizza joint in Melbourne, consider Bontempo. This restaurant’s wood-fired pizzas are top-notch. The menu also offers an array of pastas.
The pizza may be the best part of the restaurant. The dough is slow-proofed, which results in a soft crust that’s pleasantly chewy. The toppings are easily absorbed by the base, which is light and fluffy.
It’s hard to go wrong with a Neapolitan-style pizza. You’ll find traditional favourites like Kaprica and Salsicce e Funghi, plus fresh seafood options. The menu also has vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Ladro
Ladro pizza Melbourne is the pizza institution that started the artisan pizza movement. Since 2003, the team at Ladro has been bringing authentic Italian cuisine to the city. Whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner for two or a family night out, you’ll find a wide range of delicious Italian dishes to choose from.
The restaurant is known for its award-winning pizza. Guests can enjoy four types of pizzas, which are cooked in an artisan wood-fired oven. The menu includes a variety of flavours to suit everyone’s taste.
SPQR
SPQR is a new sourdough Neapolitan wood fired pizza restaurant located on Liverpool Street. It is owned by David Mackintosh and Pete Bartholomew and is open Monday to Sunday. They serve whole pies as well as slices. The menu is short but consists of seven different pizzas.
The Notti d’Oriente is a pizza made with red onion, lamb sausage and mozzarella. This pizza is a great example of a pizza that combines a sourdough base with natural yeast. The cheese is melted to a heavenly golden brown and the resulting sauce is sweet and spicy.

Enfield
Known for its vibrant high streets, greenery, and good transport links, Enfield is a popular choice for families and young couples looking to get on the property ladder. It’s also one of the most affordable London boroughs, with house prices being slightly less expensive than the national average. The property market in Enfield is vast and offers houses to suit almost every budget.
Enfield is a diverse city with a rich history. It was originally a hamlet in Middlesex, but it joined Greater London under the London Government Act of 1963. It now encompasses a number of small, village-like towns. Some of the best areas to live in Enfield include Oakwood, Southgate, and Winchmore Hill. Aside from being an attractive place to live, Enfield is a great commute to central London, with excellent transport links. The London Overground railway line serves the area, with stations at Turkey Street, Enfield Chase, Cockfosters, Southgate and Arnos Grove. There is also a new Meridian Water station, which will bring commuters to Liverpool Street in just 24 minutes. Check this out
In addition to transport, there are a number of parks and open spaces in the area. You can find a good selection of chain restaurants in the area, including Pizza Express, Nando’s and Domino’s. There is also a Jump In trampoline park and an Odeon cinema. The town has some historic features, including Forty Hall, a Grade 1-listed manor house. The town also boasts a modern European restaurant, The Beautiful South.
The borough is home to a variety of top-rated schools, including Enfield Heights and Highlands Secondary Schools. The public schools are generally above the national average. There are also plenty of other educational options for residents. There are a number of additional borrowing facilities available to help with a move, and there are several sporting and leisure locations in the area. For shopping, the Palace Gardens and Palace Exchange shopping centres are a stone’s throw from Enfield Town station. These two centres are home to a number of stores, including H&M, Next, and JD Sports. There is also a Pearson’s department store that sells upmarket ladies’ wear and exclusive brands. You can also find a good range of basic food outlets in the centre.
Enfield is also a popular destination for festivals, with the local area hosting many events throughout the year. It’s worth checking out the Rose & Crown Pub, which was once owned by a notorious highwayman, Mr. Mott. Other venues for entertainment include The Cricketers and The Beehive gastropub.
If you’re moving to Enfield, it’s important to choose an area that suits your lifestyle and budget. Aside from the cost of living, factors like the schools in the area and whether or not you can get a parking space are important considerations. The town is relatively safe, although there are some reports of violent crime, which is the second most common offense in the area. There are also several areas of outstanding natural beauty to be found in the borough, and the river that runs through the town is popular with people for its recreational value. The town also has a number of sports and leisure locations, including The Play Centre and TeamSport Indoor Karting. There are also seven golf courses in the area. Next blog article

hi! can you write some dad!andyrobertson please?! I love your writing so much!! <333 something about him with a daughter please 💕 DILF DILF DILF !
oh he's 100% a dilf - and here you go!
a fathers woe
andy struggles with the prospect of his baby growing up as the little girl asks if she can get married
Tumblr media
“Daddy?” Andy heard his daughters sweet little voice, “Can i ask you a question.” Andy knows immediately there is another question set to follow, but he cannot help himself from the typical dad response that falls out his lips before he can stop it. “You just did, love.”
You snigger, shaking your head as you dip the little nail painting brush back into the pot before returning it to your daughters foot to finish painting the last of her toes bright pink per her request. “That’s not funny, daddy.” She scolds, frowning. Andy swallows his laughs, nodding his head and holding his hands up in apology. That seems enough for your daughter, who turns back to her sticker book as Andy and you share a look with silent laughter. “Don’t touch them for five minutes.” You instruct, closing the nail polish and kissing your daughters head.
“Course you can ask me a question, lovely. Go on?” Andy hums after giving you a kick kiss before you disappear upstairs. Andy back to grating cheese over his homemade pizza as he hears his daughter crunch her way through the apple slices in her bowl as she lays on her front on the large marble top of the kitchen island, head propped up by her elbows. “Why did you get married to mummy?” She asks sweetly, not looking up at him as she speaks. Mila continues to colour in her little liverpool colouring book, only occasionally stopping to stick on a coloured or sparkly sticker over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s head. Andy purses his lips, tilting his head slightly in thought as he pushes the two trays of pizza’s into the huge oven.
“Because we love each other very much.” Andy replies casually, shrugging as does. He isn’t exactly sure where the question has come from, but he’s sure he’ll be soon to find out considering she’s very young and doesn’t tend to beat around the bush at all. “Is that all?” She asks curiously. Andy mocks hurt with a quirked eyebrow and a scoff that his daughter doesn’t pick up on. With his back pressed against the kitchen counter and ankles crossed over each other, he observed his little girl with the same level of curiosity she had in her question.
“Well, yeah. People gets married for lots of different reason. Me and your mum wanted to be husband and wife, we love each other very much and there’s lots of…” Andy pauses, trying to think of a way to explain the legal benefits of marriage to Mila without completely confusing her young mind. “Homework.” He concludes, somewhat triumphantly proud of his quick thinking. “Adults have lots of homework to do to buy houses and stuff like that. Sometimes that’s easier too when you’re married.” He tries to explain, watching her nod along. Her reception school homework is nothing difficult of course, but she doesn’t enjoy it and it’s difficult to her, so she grasps the concept generally. “But you should never marry anyone just to make your homework easier.” He adds sternly. “You should only marry someone you love.”
“Okay.” She nods, little eyebrows still furrowed. “So does that mean i can marry-”
“No.” Andy interrupts firmly, standing up straight with an immediate frown set into his features. Mila protests with a pout, “But daddy you didn’t let me finish!”
“Still no.” He retorts, offering her a tight lipped smile. “That’s rude, daddy.” Mila chides, sitting up to cross her legs in a basket and frown at her dad in the very same way he’s frowning at her. “Boys are rude.” Andy quips, “That’s why you should never marry one.”
“Mummy married you?” She challenges, cocking one eyebrow and crossing her little arms.
“That’s different.” Andy brushes off, turning away from his daughter to busy himself with sweeping the grated cheese off the counter with one hand into his other hand to flick it into the bin. “How?” Mila protests, making him roll his eyes with his back to her. She is just like you; persistent, usually right and a true powerhouse. She doesn’t give up easily and she almost never backs down. She’s you with the very best of his flaws sprinkled through. And his volume. She is just as loud as he is, much to your dismay.
“Because me and your mum love each other.” Andy says. “Well i love-”
“No you don’t.”
“Daddy you didn’t let me finish! How do you know?” She argues, clearly getting frustrated a little at her usually very easygoing dad. “Because you’re too young.” He responds, seemingly simply.
“You’re not being very kind, daddy.” She grumbles, evidently irritated. “I’m telling mummy.” She slides to the edge of the island countertop, clambering down onto the her little stool before leaping gracelessly down and running off yelling out for you.
Andy sighs to himself, dropping his head into his hands as he slumps down at the island on one of the comfortable stools. He can hear her voice and yours, but not what either of you are saying until it goes quiet and you both appear again the doorway. The little girl year old holds onto your hand tightly.
“What do we say when we haven’t been very kind, Andy?” You prompt, eyebrows raised and an ever so slightly teasing glint in your eyes that’s barely suppressed on the lips that fight a smirk. “I’m sorry, Mila.” Andy apologises, standing off his seat to crouch down on one knee. “Could i give you a hug to say how sorry i am for not listening to you properly and not answering your questions nicely?”
The little girl nods, letting go of your hands to shuffle over to her dad, allowing him to engulf her little body against his large one, almost completely shrouding her from your view. After a moment, he lifts her up and places her back on the kitchen island where she was sitting.
“Daddy was upset because you’re my little girl and you growing up is scary for me to think about.” He admits, swallowing thickly. You and Andy have been practicing a very honest manor of parenting. You sometimes feel let down by the childhood you had and you want to give her better, making sure she has emotional stability and the opportunity to know she can share her feelings whenever. Mistakes will happen, it’s how we respond to them that is important. You want her to be healthy physically and emotionally. It’s one of the most important parts of being a parent, in your opinion.
“It’s okay.” Mila replies sweetly, pressing a little kiss to his cheek. “I don’t want to marry any boys anyway. Mummy reminded me how gross they are. You’re the only boy i love daddy.” She shrugs, smiling like the little angel she truly is. “Good. Now come here.” Andy pulls her back into his arms, turning to you to give you a wide eyed look and a mouthed “thank you!”
She wriggles from his arms after he attempted to press kisses all over her and runs off giggling to hide from him elsewhere in the house and probably look for her soft football; the only one that’s allowed indoors after you smashed a lamp with one of Andy’s footballs and both you and Mila agreed to tell him it was the dog who broke said lamp with the football.
“You’re a lifesaver.” Andy groans as he walks towards you, wrapping his arms right around you and he pressing his lips onto yours firmly. “Mhm, i think i bought you a few more months.” You giggle, your nose bumping against his as he laughs along with you. He groans again, burying his head in your shoulder as your hand gently scratches the nape of his neck comfortingly. “Wanna make another?” He mumbles, pressing a gentle kiss to your shoulder through your hoodie.
“Cheeky bastard,” you jab your thumb into his ribcage slightly, words spoken between gentle laughter as you shake your head. “Seriously though?” He retorts, pulling back a bit to rest both his hands on your waist. He rests his forehead against yours, closing his eyes as he takes in your proximity and natural scent contently. “Let’s make another. We could try for a boy?”
“It doesn’t really work like that.” You giggle, eyes crinkling with your smile. Andy rolls his eyes playfully. “So?” He shrugs, pecking his lips against yours again, “You in?”
You shake your head, pressing your lips against him only broken by your smile. “Course i’m in and oi!” You swat at his wandering hand, dipping beneath the waistband of your leggings, “Not right this second you filthy man!”
Andy throws his head back with a loud, playful groan that’s broken up by his laughter when he heads you giggling before you press a gentle kiss to his exposed neck. “I love you.” You smile, watching his eyes sparkle as he turns his face back to you. “Yeah yeah yeah, i love you too.”
“Rude, daddy!” Mila chimes as she appears in the kitchen again, only having heard the end of he conversation.
“Sorry,” the scolded man retorts, immediately knowing the correction his daughter wants him to make to his prior words to you; “I love you more.”
Mila nods, smiling up at you clearly proud of her intervention for her very adored mother in the name of girl power, bumping her little fist against yours before she turns back to her dad, who wouldn’t change anything about this moment for the world, to give him a very tight lipped response.
“Much better daddy. Don’t let it happen again.”
