I think we're continually getting variety- yes there are a lot of older mainstays, but new folks continue to get cycled in. Like I've watched a lot of CW/WB and Freeform and there's basically a direct path for a lot of folks from there to these movies. So its always interesting to see who shows up from those. So I usually group them that way- Lacey Chabert and RLC from late 90s teen dramas, then you started having Bethany Lenz and Autumn Reeser from mid ought shows like the OC and One Tree Hill, then Janel Parrish and Merrit Patterson from the Pretty Little Liars early 2010s era, now we're starting to get folks from the mid-10s and later like Lyndie Greenwood, Rhiannon Fish, Jocelyn Hudon, Katherine McNamara and Katie Findlay. But it could be I remember them more because they're not new to me (I think Vic Michaelis is one of the few examples of someone I did not recognize beforehand) I will say though that it does seem we get more variety in the women than we do the guys.

We are starting to see a lot more of the younger women having multiple movies which is great. It's all about finding a good balance for the channels. Then you throw diversity into the mix as well which Hallmark still needs to improve on.

From having this blog, I see a lot of people finding out about certain actors being in movies after they've already aired so Hallmark isn't doing a great job of promoting the movies to the audiences they should be trying to reach either. There's still a stigma around what Hallmark is too and people don't want to watch. I saw SO MANY comments like that on gifs this past Christmas season.

Lyndie is 40, by the way. Rhiannon 32, Jocelyn 29, Kat 28, Katie 33. Lacey, Autumn, Joy are all in their early 40s.

Details:  Ryan was in the military with this character's older brother and the two were essentially, like best friends. After things fell apart with Ryan's wife and in between tours, Ryan would sometimes come home with his army buddy and crash at his family's place in their hometown. His army buddy goes by Ramsey (I originally suspected this could've been his last name which they referred to him as or it could be a nickname). Anyways, whenever Ryan would return home with Ramsey, he'd get closer and closer with Ramsey's family to the point they considered him as family as well. And Ramsey, of course, had a younger sister who Ryan looked after following Ramsey's passing in the line of duty. Ryan was the one who came to her/their family's house to deliver the dreadful news. They've kept in touch ever since and there was a short period of time where they may or may not have blurred the lines during their grief. As it stands now, they aren't anything. And while there were slight romantic-y undertones both acknowledge they aren't each other's person and have mutually agreed not to date. They're still really good friends though and he views her as someone worth holding onto purely because she's a link to someone he cherishes deeply. Her reasons for coming to town, are UTP. I imagine it could be for a job or some other reason and that's why they're reconnecting.

okay but no joke the way jumanji: welcome to the jungle (2017) was a perfect reboot of an idea. the way it didn’t try to be an edgy remake and genuinely found a hearty story in inversing the premise of the original film. the way in seemlessly paid homage to the original film with the “alan parrish. he’s the guy who built this place” scene. the way the rock, karen gillan, kevin heart, and jack black embody teenage mannerisms, physically and emotionally, to PERFECTION without being condescending. the way that film genuinely has some gutwrenching moments (when Alex realises how long he’s been trapped in jumanji), really heartfelt moments (when Bethany asks Martha why they’ve never talked), and ends with a really lovely message about making mistakes and growing up. they way the film was so SO funny without relying on punch-down humour. i know a lot of people didn’t see it because of loyalty to the original and robin williams and i get that but it’s one of the few times a reboot lived up to and respected the legacy of the original material. i love it so much. it never fails to lift my spirits when i watch it.
