In my limited blinkered perception I see traces of the Wizard of Oz, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and LoTR in this. But it happily eschews and confounds any expectations of similar plot beats. And again my Veeeeeeerrrrry limited perspective it's intriguing that both this and the most recent Godzilla or so explictly WWII adjacent. Expect it will reward rewatches.
Believe me when I tell you that this second half of the two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel is a true spectacle! It improves upon its predecessor with bigger action, deeper drama, and breathtaking imagery that is worth seeing on an IMAX screen (which I managed to do; trust me, it's totally worth it). This film takes its rightful place among the many great Hollywood epics that came before it. Long live the fighters!
