always feel so bad getting my dad such predictable christmas presents but hes so hard to buy for...all he ever wants is books + cds but he knows exactly what he wants if you tried to pick a cd for him that would be disastrous. so he just has a list of even more cds and we get him a few of those but i wish i could pick something for him as a surprise that he would genuinely like : ^ (

the queen is dead - the smiths
i’ve never listened to the smiths, and have tried to avoid them my entire life as much as i can. i successfully avoided watching 500 days of dummer for 23 years before giving in and deciding i should experience it in order to form my own opinion without any preconceived notions. it’s safe to say i was not surprised by how much i disliked the film, which definitely doesn’t make me feel better about branching out now, but hopefully the smiths will not disappoint. as a disclaimer, these opinions are a practice in separating the art from the artist- i still hate morrissey as a human being. here are my notes:
the queen is dead: 3.3/5 stars
"oh, has the world changed or have i changed?" this hit harder than i expected it to
his voice is so unique and special, and i love that he acknowledges that with the line "she said, 'eh, i know, and you cannot sing'" and then to follow this up with a joke about his piano skills being worse is unfortunately iconic of him
obsessed with the voice cracks he allows himself to sing, specifically on "were" in the line "i swear to god i never knew what drugs were" because it adds such a youthful vulnerability
i love how he compares the inconvenience of his hair being messed up by the rain to "love, law, and poverty"
overall, i think the lyrics are fire, but i don't love the beat. the drums are very cool, but it's lacking in guitar/bass
frankly, mr. shankly: 3.6/5 stars
groovy fun beat that i enjoyed immediately
the way that he sings "fulfilled" and "mentally ill" to rhyme them scratches my brain
"flatulent pain in the ass" is an epic insult that i will now be adding to my vocabulary
i know it's over: 2.9/5 stars
soothing beat and singing voice
"loud loutish lover treat her kindly, though she needs you more than she loves you" felt like a slap to the face and made me gasp out loud
morrissey is so good at dragging himself, "then why are you on your own tonight?" ok ouch
"it takes guts to be gentle and kind" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
beautiful lyrics but didn't stun or wow me, unfortunately boring
never had no one ever: 2/5 stars
wait was he 20 when he wrote this??
we get it morrissey, you are alone
this was very whiny and not in a hot way
cemetery gates: 3.8/5 stars
love the guitar so much
love the simplicity of this lyric, "they were born, and then they lived, and then they died / seems so unfair, i want to cry"
"'you say 'ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn' and you claim these words as your own" trying very hard not to be a misandrist here but it is so unrealistic for a man to have this experience and not the other way around LMAO
bigmouth strikes again: 4.3/5 stars
immediate banger
"sweetness i was only joking when i said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head" and "when i said by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed" HUH???? what did he sayyyyyy
"and now I know how joan of arc felt" probably the best lyric I've ever heard, once again not sure a man could ever know what she felt but sure ok
obsessed with the high pitched echoing voice in the background
the boy with the thorn in his side: 2.6/5 stars
"behind the hatred there lies a plundering desire for love" i think in this song morrissey really gives himself away in that he confuses love for acceptance. he doesn't seem to wish to be loved by someone and acutally love them in return
hard to empathize with this song not gonna lie
i like the little scatting thing he does in the second half of the song
vicar in a tutu: 1.6/5 stars
in the least chronically online social justice warrior way possible i don't love how this song is just a big joke on how funny it would be if a man wore a typically feminine piece of clothing
dumb and stupid and not funny or entertaining (though i do love a good jab at the church)
there is a light that never goes out: 4.3/5 stars
another banger
the kind of song i want to scream out my car windows while speeding down a highway
is that a flute or recorder in the background? either way, so fun!
quintessential angst teen experience of driving around in your car
some girls are bigger than others: .1/5 stars
the opposite of going out with a bang
following a banger with a FLOP
the title made me flinch
what is the point of this song?? so so lame
didn't even want to finish the song, it just repeats the one stupid lyric "some girls are bigger than others"
overall, i did not hate the album as much as i anticipated! a few bangers to add to the playlist, but definitely a few flops. this album gets a 3.4/5 from me!

at the same time though. i said okay here is a pirate city which is just a love letter to valkyrie. i'm going to populate it with hotties and freaks and some of the stupidest coolest shit you've ever seen. there's a bar that sees brawls so often the floor is a fishing net where the holes get bigger and bigger until people just get shoved through the middle. the court system is just who wins takeshi's castle (takeshi's courtsle). you're staying at an inn called the naughty llama and there's a bigmouth bass llama on your wall and llama pin up girls on the bedcovers. your ex punches you immediately. everything's built out of richety old bits of ships and oh did i mention your best friend is here and trying to ram you with his wheelchair. i love you.

Paddle Fishing crucial Florida's Spring Creeks
Tumblr media
Geology blessed critical Florida with a number of spring creeks, together with the Wekiva River (simply mins far from Orlando), and the Salt Springs Run, the Alexander SUP Paddel kaufen, and the Juniper Springs Run, all in the Ocala countrywide woodland. All of those creeks offer delightful float fishing with the aid of canoe or kayak on beautiful, crystal clean waters for bream and largemouths, in ecologically rich environments.
each stream is precise, but they share many bodily characteristics. The rivers every begin as water wells up out of a hollow inside the ground, frequently a primary magnitude spring. This water is very clear, with a steady year spherical temperature of 72 ranges Fahrenheit. these spring runs assist a lush boom of plant life together with water lilies, bulrushes, greenback weed, cattails, pickerelweed, arrowhead, eelgrass, and different flora.
these kind of plant life offer a large, solid food base for a extensive form of animals. As you flow you'll be distracted out of your fishing by an expansion of birds along with ospreys, turkeys, limpkins, herons, ibis, and egrets. Otters, alligators, turtles, and other animals are frequently visible, too. massive numbers of minnows frolic within the shallows, and similarly massive numbers of aquatic bugs, crayfish, and different fish forage locate refuge in the vegetation.
you may assume there to be big numbers of bass and bream to which you could forged. you will be proper. no longer best do those creeks hold respectable fish populations of their own, however fish also come into these streams from the St. Johns River to spawn, increasing fish populations on a seasonal basis. Striped bass additionally enter a number of those creeks, wintering in a few and summering in others.
You need a canoe or kayak to fish these streams. Wading is possible simplest on sand bars or wherein hard, white sand backside exists, for instance in a number of the meadow sections of the Rock Springs Run. In maximum different locations thick deposits of sediment carpet the bottom, making wading hard at first-class. Even those wadable sections are reachable only through paddle craft.
What tackle you need depends on what type of fish you favor to capture. Fly fishers will need a three- or four-weight outfit for panfish, or a seven-weight for bigmouths. Floating strains are favored.
A wide form of flies can be used to take each bass and bream, and the most effective actual distinction among the flies used for these species is the scale of the hooks they are on. Fly fishers will need flies on length 6 or eight hooks for bream, and on size 1, 1/0 or even larger for bass. The bass frequently take the smaller baits used for bream, and by the use of big baits you leave out out on quite a few the a laugh you would have catching the smaller fish.
I select the use of floating flies but you ought to carry some subsurface styles for days when fishing is gradual. Poppers, sliders, sponge rubber spiders, and Muddler minnows make up an amazing, easy surface fly selection for bream. Rubber hackle on the spiders and poppers may be very critical. if you tie your personal flies placed weedguards on some of them to assist reduce hang-ups. deliver more flies because you may lose a few to the flora. every now and then a large fish will burrow into lily pads and destroy you off, too.
For subsurface flies a few small Clouser minnows, wooly buggers, sinking rubber spiders, and buggy searching nymph patterns like those used for trout will all be taken eagerly via hungry bream. once more, something to deter weeds will show helpful, and extras will be needed to replace the inevitable losses.
A massive choice of subsurface bass flies is not wanted. more than one weighted crayfish imitations, a couple of streamers, and some weighted eelworm styles make up a small however powerful selection. All of those flies need weedguards. they may be worked in and round aquatic plants and fallen bushes.
Spin fishers are first-rate served with an ultralight outfit for bream, and a ten pound outfit for bass. Spin fishers concentrated on bream will want lures like micro-plugs, road runners, beetle spins, crappie jigs, and different similar small fare. For bass, jerk baits and plastic worms paintings properly and may be labored thru the thickest plants. A popper or other surface plug may additionally are available in reachable.
no matter what kind of address you choose, carry plenty of extra baits. you will lose some in the vegetation.
while you will on occasion get big fish, the bass in those streams tend to run small. there is sincerely no want to use heavy address and huge baits unless you certainly are interested by simplest large bass. those large fish will take your little bream baits often enough to hold you inquisitive about the fishing. The simplest trouble with hooking a nice fish on light address is pulling the huge guy out of the weeds with a little rod after the hookup.
As you float down these rivers the move's individual changes. you may skip through open, meadow-like stretches with shallow water and thick growths of aquatic vegetation. Jungle-like stretches with the circulate flowing through close to-tunnels of bushes and striking vines follow. The water here is deep and dark. I just paddle through these jungly locations. The streams right here are slender and overgrown, making casting hard. I see few fish in these locations besides. Why waste time fishing barren water?
The places to fish are the sunlit shallows. The fish thrive inside the lush boom, finding food effortlessly. work the edges and wallet inside the plants as quality as you could, paying particular attention to snags and blowdowns alongside the bank. Overhanging trees or cut banks frequently hold the largest fish.
I choose floor baits truely because the visuals they provide make fishing greater a laugh. these are solid as close as possible to edges of any type, modern-day seams, drop-offs, docks, fallen bushes, or other structure and allowed to flow freely with a minimum of "retrieve". some experimentation is needed right here although. a few days the fish need greater motion of their lures than different days.
you'll find mainly that casting accuracy is a good deal more important than distance right here. Fifty foot casts are as lots as you normally want, and most are shorter than this. inside the clear water the fish can see properly. maintain your motion to a minimal.
an excellent sidearm forged that may pass a bait below overhanging flora may be very powerful. The more right water you cowl the better are the odds of having a strike.
You need not cast blindly all of the time. while the fish are feeding actively you will hear them breaking the floor, and see them jumping after dragonflies and other bugs. I often stand in my canoe so i can see better. Sightfishing for bass is uncommon, however it may be finished in those creeks. wear earth tones or even a terrific camo pattern to keep away from spooking the fish in case you choose to use this approach.
you can often see each bass and bream beds within the stream. locating a set of loads of energetic bream beds packed right into a small vicinity of circulation is a subtle clue that fishing may be rapid and furious for some time. Anchor a comfortable casting distance away and paintings your bait along periphery the beds at the beginning, Premium SUP Board farther into the mass as fish on the outer beds get caught. that is bream fishing at its finest, aggressive fish that hit on almost each forged.
A subtly colored paint activity at the canoe is a superb idea. 4 folks floated the Alexander Springs Run recently in two canoes. Mine is a drab mild inexperienced, the alternative one became vibrant crimson. We caught fish after fish, they stuck not anything. There might also were other factors at work here, but it is an amazing idea to be as discreet as feasible with each your apparel and your watercraft.
attempt fishing one of imperative Florida's spring creeks. you will love the herbal splendor of those streams, and could find catching forty or fifty fish in a day a welcome novelty.

not really <\3 most are just kind of odd occurrences like sometimes at night i'll hear footsteps in the (locked) attic, & sometimes (usually when i'm playing music on my speakers) i'll hear pebbles hitting my bedroom windows (they have bug screens on the outside so thats not really. possible ykwim). once i was using my dad's tube amp in the basement & it worked totally fine, light was on etc etc, & i went to unplug it and it wasn't plugged in. what are your top 10 favorite albums of all time? & how has your day been? today i give you one of my favorite “song with a bass solo” of all time: https://open.spotify.com/track/5QIbR39hAEDIOkr4ggh4xc -❄️
OMG I LOVE ATOMIC!!! its srlsly one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands and when you said "song with a bass solo" i immediately thought of it! thats so fun :)
i thought top 10 albums of all time would be easy but then i started overthinking it so to avoid that im just gonna go based on pure instinct (also these r in no particular order i just numbered them to keep count lmao)
1.disintegration - the cure. it is literally so perfect 2.the queen is dead - the smiths. bigmouth strikes again, cemetry gates, i know it's over, THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT??? what an album. 3.remain in light - talking heads. i had a maths class over zoom during lockdown and the teacher was so boring that i just muted him and listened to this album for the first time ever and i fell in love w it instantly :) 4.ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars - david bowie. i'd love this album anyway but what makes it even better is the fact that my best friend also loves it to the point where david bowie is like our shared thing and moonage daydream is basically our theme song :)) 5.unknown pleasures - joy division. this was one of the first vinyls i ever bought (before i even had a working record player) and definitely one of the ones i play most. i have such fond memories of the day i bought it!! 6.in the aeroplane over the sea - neutral milk hotel. bought this at the same time as unknown pleasures and when i listened to it on vinyl for the first time i literally felt my soul leave my body. 7.london calling - the clash. the first time i heard this i thought it was so overrated then i listened to it again like a week later and i thought it was the greatest thing ever so idk what happened the first time 8.punisher - pheobe bridgers. i love this album so much and i am going to see pheobe bridgers at a festival in feb and im so excited :D 9.revolver - the beatles. i have such fond memories of listening to this album with my dad as a kid, and recently ive been obsessed w it again. also its just a classic! 10.the velvet underground & nico. i love this album's individual songs but its also such a great album to listen to as like a whole the progression of it is rly cool to me. i had to put some honorable mentions since it was so hard to narrow down: the dreaming by kate bush and power corruption and lies by new order :)) also i have had a pretty good day today, it's my first day of the summer holidays and i went to my friend's this morning n we basically just hung out and listened to music so its been a very chill day :) thanks for asking!
how was your day and what are your top 10 albums of all time???

If we go by Marvel rules where religious symbols only work against Dracula in the hands of true believers of the relevant faith, could a follower of Jesus defeat him by slapping him with a fish?
Do Christians generally recognize irl fish as a religious symbol outside of the ichthys symbol? Not in my experience, but maybe there’s a church out there with a Bigmouth Billy Bass up on the altar
