ok so, what’s your honest personal opinion on harringrove? What do you like and dislike about it?
do you ship anyone specifically with Robin or Chrissy?
(Eddie x Chrissy 4life fight me.)
And what’s your honest opinion on mrs wheeler?
Hey, IDK how long this has been sitting in my inbox, so sorry to keep you waiting.
Ahh, Harringrove my beloved. Honestly there's not a whole lot I don't love about the ship, aside from I do get annoyed when I see Harringrove fics where Billy is worse than canon just for added angst. Honestly, the Harringrove fans are a big part of why I love the ship. (There's a particular ship I avoid whenever possible, and a major part of it is the shippers.) There are so many talented artists and writers but more importantly, amazingly kind and open-minded people. I wish the rest of the Stranger Things fandom was like this.
Robin I'm pretty open minded about with ships, but my favorites are Robin/Vickie (yes we don't know much about Vickie but that's never stopped a rarepare shipper before; hopefully she'll get a bit more focus in Season 5), Robin/Heather, Robin/Chrissy (the mental image of Robin bluescreening over a cheerleader crush is so delightful I wish we'd gotten to see it, and Robin would be such a sweet if awkward girlfriend to Chrissy), and last but not least, Robin/Sheena (if you haven't read 'Rebel Robin' I highly recommend it and can provide a link to a free online version if necessary; Sheena Rollins is one of my favorite characters in the book and I found her way more interesting than Tammy 'Muppet Voice' Thompson).
As for my favorite Chrissy ships, I especially love Eddissy/Hellcheer, Robin/Chrissy (as mentioned above), and Harringrovesonham, or Steve/Billy/Eddie/Chrissy (I mostly blame @robthegoodfellow's ongoing WIP 'Only One Bed' for getting me into this ship).
Ooh, Karen. Not a fan of hers, at all. She's not the WORST mother on the show (Laura Cunningham I'm looking at you) but I HATE how so many people overlook her lusting over Billy just because Cara Buono is attractive. As my mother said when I told her about Karen's interactions with Billy, "She's a grown ass woman twice his age; she should know better." If the roles were reversed and it was Ted (or a genderswapped Karen) lusting after a 17/18 year old Billie Hargrove to the point of acting like a teenager at her workplace with friends, I can't imagine it would get the same amount of support/defense from fans.

so i'm already sort of toying with this, but i've been kicking around a genderswap verse (largely cisswap -- before anyone comes for me, i'm a trans person) -- a series where the party is mostly girls, and where the teens are all gender swapped. primarily steddie focused. some elements of this universe are different, in the following ways:
-steve is stephanie, or "steph" harrington, captain of the girls' swim team who always has a boyfriend. while i think in many 'verses steve is bisexual, she's a closeted lesbian here -- it's all comphet. she's about 5'5", busty with an athletic build. big farrah fawcett hair, giant hazel eyes.
-eddie is still eddie, but her name's edina munson -- it's an old family name, a great aunt that died "a bachelorette" despite having a lifelong roommate. one lesbian edina to another. she's wiry, lean and built like a washboard, absolutely wild dark hair, 5'8ish.
-the other teens: nathan "nate" wheeler (5'10, very lanky -- basically a dead ringer for timothee chalamet), joan byers (a lydia deetz type before beetlejuice was even a thing -- 5'3, petite, looks like a haunted doll), robin "rob" buckley (6'1, gangly and awkward but still handsome as all get out), maria "argyle" aguilar (5'7, nothing but curves, same long hair, can roll the perfect blunt even with her acrylics). bonus: elizabeth "billie" hargrove (5'6, basically a whitesnake music video girl brought to life, fit as a fiddle).
-the kids are: lucille "lucy" sinclair and her little brother eric sinclair, debra "debbie" henderson, elizabeth "beth" byers, michelle "shelly" wheeler, maxwell "max" mayfield, john "el" ives-hopper.
-holly wheeler is a boy -- harry wheeler.

Can anyone recommend some good genderswapped stranger things fanfics? I’ve been reading a ton of Female!Billy Hargrove fics and a few of them have been where most of cast is genderswapped and I’d love to read some more.

ok but i live for lesbian harringrove. maybe as an act of rebellion billie cuts her hair into a more butch style to piss off neil (mayb her mom in this universe). takes some clippers to the back and feels more like her own person with an undercut. stevie loves it, loves scratching her fingers through the short hair at billie’s nape. the top still long enough to hold onto
She has Stevie shave it, and the edges are a lil wonky, but the short hair is so soft, and Stevie WONT STOP touching it, and it totally puts Billie to sleep

So, this is the last chapter of Lawless. I started this back in April after watching an episode of Murder Calls and didn't really have any clear thoughts or ideas of this making it onto AO3. With help and support, I was able to post this story into the monster you see today. I'd like to thank everyone who's read this story from the first day I posted Lawlessand I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.

the killing type
I once stepped on a dying bird
It was a mercy killing
I couldn't sleep for a week
I kept feeling its breaking bones
Stevie is looking out over a gaping maw of jagged rock, the setting sun like the bloody yolk of an egg being slowly swallowed up. Good cure for hangovers, she'd heard. Can't imagine how drunk a quarry could get on leftover vodka and pisswater beer. Probably not much. Definitely not as drunk as she is right now.
She flicks her half finished cigarette over the ledge and watches the ember fall away, absorbed into the blackness within seconds. Laughter bubbles up in her throat, catches on her tongue, comes out a sob. She rubs at the bruise on her cheek, presses softly down until it hurts.
Stevie doesn't talk about it. Billie doesn't like it because it's not a problem she can solve. And, ok, Stevie can handle a lot of things. Her dad may think she's a delicate fucking flower, but she's been through some shit, but that’s not- it doesn’t matter. It doesn't help.
Stevie is a killer. Stevie is not fucking dead, and she’s happy about it, and she doesn’t understand why she wants to vomit. Apart from maybe drinking a little too much.
A lot too much.
Can't tell Billie about the things in the dark, though. Thinks she'd understand. Thinks she'd know about monsters. But things are different; human monsters are different. Animals just do what they do to survive. People choose to be assholes.
It's like, ok, if you were being hunted by a lion and it attacked you and you killed it- that would be fine, right? It should be fine.
It is not fine.
It has not been fine, she thinks, for a very long time. She is not fine.
She thought she knew- but there had been the kids to consider, and Nate was off doing important shit with Josie and the rest of the goddamn pussycats, and- what was she supposed to do, exactly? Not kill the things? Not enjoy it, at the very least. Bare minimum.
The quarry has nearly finished devouring the sun, and the wind is starting up. She wraps Billie’s dumb jean jacket more tightly around her, like a terrible sort of armor. Thinks about her mother, and 'I worry about you, sweetie', and the woosh-thump-crunch of a baseball bat full of nails against flesh.
Breathes in the scent of Billie. Imagines the California sun soaking into it, the sea air cool against her face. Like Billie has told her about, like it's so very different there.
She definitely doesn't think about jumping, or how self-preservation is a gateway drug. Or the baseball bat resting in the trunk of her Beamer, and how she knows the backroads to Billie’s house like she knows the back of her hand.
