ever since I was a little girl I’ve been extremely fascinated in the zipper-like webs garden spiders make. Here’s one I found today at mom’s

Yellow Garden Spider | Writing Spider | Pretty Spider #shorts #spider #writingspider #bytesizeambs
Two beautiful Writing Spiders (female) around my house and garden. Notice the difference in color on their legs.
Note: all of my critter/animal videos have tidbits of info in their description, in case anyone wants to learn about them.

Came home the other day and watched as the hummingbird clearwing moth was landing on the mock orange. He let me get a few pics before he flew off…
And then at the zinnias (planted around a sign at a church I drive by) — I photographed them extensively last week for reference material, and then stopped by again today — there was a black and yellow garden spider (that's it's common name, aka Argiope aurantia). It took a few tries to get a decent shot.

Taking Stock . . . Naturally
As locals know, My Guy owns a hardware store and I often say I am married to the store. It’s true because it is a constant in our lives and follows us on walks and hikes even on his days off. And though our oldest son has taken over the reins in the past two years, My Guy still cannot completely let go. I’ve come to realize, however, that that is okay because it means I can tend my own shop. Of…

Florida’s Wonderful Spider Season is Here
Stabilimentum Now that summer weather has firmly entrenched itself in central Florida, the insects and spiders are everywhere. As most of you know, I really like most insects, but I absolutely love spiders. So needless to say, I was very pleased to find this black and yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia), a type of orb weaver spider, hanging in a nearly perfect web with a very impressive…

@anthropobscene submitted: here are some beings I saw this summer in Massachusetts, US. ID welcome but not essential. Thanks!! 💚
A VERY excellent group of pals! They are in order: a rabid wolf mother and her one million babies, a large and beautiful yellow garden spider, unidentified jumping spider, a great spangled fritillary, a pure green sweat bee, a black swallowtail, a clearwing sphinx moth in the genus Hemaris, and some very cute and tiny but unidentified butterfly chrysalides :)

This week at Developing Nature Gallery, photographs of arachnids will be added to the shop. Today, Goldenrod Crab Spiders were added. There is a set of three whereas a male is on top of a female, guarding her and requesting to mate with her. There is a crab spider on a plant waiting for an insect to fly by her. There is a crab spider at the center of a black-eye susans flower waiting to ambush someone, whilst a nursery spider hangs off a flower petal. You can find these five pictures in the ARACHNIDS folder.
Have a great night!

I had commissioned @lailas-in-space for my TMA OC/sona. They did amazing with just a few reference photos and a general ✨vibe✨ for my character.
Had an idea for TMA avatars, but from the South (US). Raine (working name), an avatar of the Web, was my first full fledged idea. They would work at a coffee shop and pull strings based on the gossip they get at work. Typical southern chismosa through and through. Spider design is from a black and yellow garden spider that was prevalent in my back yard growing up.
I have other ideas of more Southern TMA avatars for later.

Hello I have a great investment opportunity! You should forfeit all of your money to spiders!! It's a great opportunity and while I haven't gotten any money back I just know that it's going to pay off soon! Here's a picture of me forfeiting my last dollars to the large lady who lives on my porch hope this inspires you to invest in giving spiders all of your money

Ode To A Garden Spider
Oh great orb weaverWho lives among tall plants Where you spinA complex circular webThe size of a large platterComplete with a hubAnd sticky spokesUpon which you walk,While sticky crosslinesEnsnare your daily meals, I revere you. I study the websYou and all of your sisters create,But observe holesIn some areasWhere large insects May have escaped,Your web so constructed That they don't break The…
