“Oh! What a nice thought!” That was playing in their minds when the extra oil coated their fingers. You were really putting their acting skills to the test. They swallowed that crime to baking like champs: no flinching or shades of green to be found. Their manners didn’t escape them either. A proper thank you was given, despite how much of a film was left in their mouths. If someone else asked to try them, they’d jump in with a "No, no, no… these are all for me” to try and save them but mostly you from embarrassment.

Unconvincingly grateful: Toshiro, Rukia, Lisa, Iba, Kensei

They were genuinely looking forward to trying your baked goods, but oh… oh no why did they look like that? Their excitement faded and was replaced with a forced smile. The thank you dragged out as they looked down at the gift you’d given them. They looked back up at you, forced smile still intact, and when you didn’t leave, a look of panic played in their eyes. Eating it was done with no grace. “Mmm! M..mhm!” As they nodded and chewed painstakingly slowly. “S-so good…”

You baked them something? Curiosity got the better of them but soon had them stumped. They didn’t know what to expect from your baking skills, but even so how could they have expected that? Were you trying to poison them? No? Were you sure about that? Because every fiber of their being expelled whatever it was you handed to them. And no, they weren’t overreacting…but yes, they were quite rude about it, even if it was unintentional. Their lieutenants had to remind them that you were still in the room.

“...” What was that and why were you giving it to him? He side-eyed you as you held the closed box. The faintest glimmer of curiosity was stomped out when you opened it and showed him the oily monstrosity. You couldn’t really take any more of the awkward silence, so you set it down and left immediately. He wasted no time in chucking it in the trash. Just to be clear, even if you’d stuck around, he still would have thrown it in the trash in front of you.

Something didn't feel right.

That's the lingering thought in the back of your mind as you prepare some tea right before going to bed.

Absentmindedly, you take out both cups for the tea only to shake your head. You just need one.

Only one cup will be used now.

-Some habits die hard- a little voice whispers in your mind, you do your best to ignore it, to quiet it down. Yet the silence in your home was suffocating, the loneliness creeping on every corner that held memories of blissful times, now bringing growing pains.

The ache in your heart was nothing new, yet it never subsided, not even a little bit.

- You knew what you were getting into - The small voice of your conscience insisted on staying present. Yes, you knew that this was the most likely outcome when you married the captain of the 13th division of the Seireitei. However, you also knew that you wouldn't be as happy as you were during your life together anywhere else.

The space once shared with the one you loved the most laid untouched, as if time stopped, yet shadows grew and made it all gloom. Even if you move nothing, all the moments contained in one place were enough for the space to change and distort at least in your eyes.

You sighed, closing your eyes. The kettle whistled softly, interrupting the swirl of thoughts, reminiscences, and memories assaulting your mind.

-All this just because one cup of tea- Taking the kettle and pouring some tea on the cup, adding some honey, just enough for it to give a faint sweetness. The same process to make the same tea you had every evening before saying good night.

Sitting on the table and watching the cup, before taking a little sip and closing your eyes, the same flavour and the same smell.

Yet, something didn't feel right.

It was just one cup of tea when it should be two.

Some angsty and sad stuff because I miss him everyday, and I'm taking you with me.

Captains finding their S/O napping

I had a fat ass nap today and made me think of Bleach. So ya'll're getting this. Let me know if you want other Bleach characters like Ichigo or previous captains. Enjoy!

Content warning: Potential spoilers for TYBW (only covering the currently canon and serving captains), g/n reader, other than that- pure fluff!

Captains finding their S/O napping: 

Shunsui- Would chuckle to himself, finding you having fallen asleep incredibly endearing. Despite being head-captain, he would 100% join you. Whether it’s as simple as getting into bed with you or adjusting himself to fit around you on the sofa. So he doesn’t wake you, Shunsui would either just lift your legs or head to rest them on his lap for him to nap in a seated position or sleep beside you on the floor, draping his kimono over your and holding onto your hand. 

Soi-Fon- Will stare at your gentle, sleeping form for quite some time. When she’s brave enough, she’ll sit beside you. Eeeeeever so slowly, she’ll inch closer, hoping to stroke your head or hold your hand if it’s within reach. If anything even THOUGHT about disturbing you, she would death glare at them and deal with it immediately.

Rojuro- At first, he would just smile before backing out of the room. But the moment you seemed to be stirring, he would pull himself back into the room. Sitting beside you (or laying if you were napping in bed), he would gently stroke your cheek and hum. He loves music, that much is obvious, but he would hum lullabies or music with a slower tempo to help you drift back off again. Might even join you in a nap too. 

Isane- Squeaks when she realises you’re asleep. Goes to apologies, thinking she had disturbed you but you kept on sleeping. Isane would sigh, muttering about how she knew how hard you had been pushing yourself lately. Like the kind, gentle woman Isane is, she would drape you do subtle things to ensure you sleep soundly. A soft blanket across your body, a bottle of water beside you for when you wake up, closed curtains and a sign on the door asking others not to disturb you. 

Shinji- Shinji would grin when he finds you asleep. You were so cute when you were like this, all content and curled up. He’d take a photo of you on his soul phone for later before walking closer, observing every breath and every subtle twitch or noise. And if you were to subtly mumble or moan out his name? Oh boy, he would be teasing you for that one when you woke up. But all the teasing came from a place of love and endearment. 

Byakuya- Seems like the kind of guy who would try and wake up an S/O from a nap for one reason or another (“It’s too late in the day for napping”, “You have too much to do to be napping”, “How can you sleep on something this uncomfortable?”, etc.). But… Maybe this once it was a good thing you felt comfortable enough to sleep. You always work yourself to the bone so maybe you just needed it. He’d pull the curtains to help darken the room, gently kiss your forehead and whisper “sweet dreams” before leaving the room. 

Iba- Iba’s a normally very macho man, too enveloped in his duties to have time for a S/O. But he would absolutely fold the moment he gets one. And the moment he finds you fast asleep? It would be like he’d come into contact with the cutest puppy in the world. Like Shinji, he would definitely take a photo (or several) so he’s always got a photo of your cute, sleepy face. He would probably sit beside you and just watch in awe and love. 

Lisa- The moment she sees you asleep, the first emotion across her mind is annoyance. Annoyed you hadn’t told her you were going to nap and offered to join you/ But then she’d sigh and sit beside you, reading her manga in silence in case you woke up having a nightmare. Every so often, she would gently pat your head or shoulder, a silent promise to keep you safe and to watch over you. 

Kensei- Like Lisa, his first emotion is annoyance you hadn’t offered him to join you for a nap. And probably further annoyance that you’re ditching duties just to nap. He would call out an “Oi” in an attempt to wake you. But, when you didn’t he huffed, closing the door behind him so he wouldn’t disturb you further. You needed sleep. But don’t expect to get off that easily, he will bring this up when you wake up and ask if there’s anything wrong. 

Toshiro (Adult)- Toshiro would’ve walked in on Rangiku enough times to not be surprised seeing a sleeping figure as he walked into a room. But realising it’s you, he would keep quiet. Well, at least for a while. Then he’d probably grumble, talking to you as if you were awake. About how his day was, how annoying the captain’s meeting was, anything. But he’d end it with a kiss to your temple, a whisper of love before leaving the room. 

Kenpachi- Kenpachi would groan slightly, slightly shaking your shoulder in an attempt to wake you. But you wouldn’t, just continuing to sleep onwards. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to have a 5 minute break with you. Kenpachi would lift your legs slightly so he could sit beside you before draping your legs back across his lap. Large, rough hands gently massaging your knees and thighs to help you sleep easier as he would occasionally glance at you. You would wake up however if his fellow squad mates teased him about it until he threatened to beat their asses. 

Mayuri- Walked into the room, blabbering and completely absorbed in his work. “Are you even list- Oh, you’re asleep.” Mayuri would say as he realised you were peacefully napping. He’d stare for a few moments, unsure of what to do with this fact. If he was feeling generous, he would simply put a blanket over you and walk off. If not, he would absolutely test the limits on what he could do before you wake up. For scientific observation. Would you wake up if he were to move your arm around or stroke your cheek? Let’s find out. 

Rukia- Finally, Rukia. Like her big brother, she would attempt to wake you, probably more just to check you’re alive. But when she sees how peaceful you look, she’d half smile, whispering something about how happy she is that you feel safe and getting what you need. She’d leave some water and a snack beside you, pull the blanket over you, maybe swap out the pillow you slept on for a comfier one. If she has the time, she would sit with you, probably accidentally falling asleep with you.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?).

Sosuke is not a cuddler. Naturally, a relationship implies physical touch as a fundamental part of a healthy connection. Hand and forehead kisses are what he delivers to you, but he would never turn down your offer to give him a massage, or simply lying beside you on his king sized bed.

What he appreciates the most is your proximity. Your reiatsu lingering on his body after you leave is comforting, detecting it around him when he is making plans or talking to his subordinates strikes his ego. Having you sitting on his lap while he writes is probably his favorite way to deal with affection. Sosuke is an attentive man and, albeit he does not need much physical contact, he knows you may suffer for his algid nature and therefore he finds himself tangled into a bear hug with you during private moments.

Mostly, it happens during the night in the privacy of your bedroom.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?).

His large frame grants him the ability to wrap you in his arms pretty easily and make you feel protected. Sosuke is a busy man, most of the time troubled by projects, his mind trained on scheming to outfox his enemies. To have you in his arms might provide him some solace during small breaks.

He rarely initiate an hug, but when he does you know this is his silent and polite way of asking for your attention. You do not have to necessarily converse. All you have to do is let him cradle you in his arms, perched on his lap, his slender fingers combing your hair.

There is more emotion that he would like to show in them, but you never push it. It would most likely spoil the moment and you cannot afford him to cast you away.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?).

Jealousy does not suit him. Sosuke is territorial, but does not see other men as threats to his domain on your heart and body. He knows you belong to him, he sees the way you still get flustered in his presence as you did when you first met.

The choice of not showing jealousy, but opting for a display of power and possession over you instead tickles his ego. He just wants everyone to know you are his life companion. Nothing else matters. Why? Nobody in his right mind would ever consider approaching you, if you wore Sosuke’s scent over you with pride, or if you showed the ring on your finger.

A way to let the world see how deeply he loves you and how much you value him is draping his coat over your shoulders, whilst you walk together, or you attend an event alone. Let’s be real: he would never allow anyone to touch his belongings, unless this person is you.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?).

Sosuke gives you possessive and demanding kisses, but there is tenderness in the way he moves his lips over yours. He usually grabs your chin between his thumb and forefinger and cranes your neck up to capture your lips in a smoldering kiss.

His hands need to touch your face, cupping it in his hands, holding you still against his body. Besides your lips, Sosuke loves kissing your knuckles, as a sign of reverence. The valley between your breasts is one of the favorite spots he lavishes with small, open-mouthed kisses. He needs you to feel loved, especially since he does not have much time to bask into your arms.

If he has to choose a place where he likes to be kissed, this man is pretty simple and solely asks to feel your mouth over his. It is intimate, sweet, personal. Your taste drives him insane.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?).

Sosuke never felt the desire to have a child, or an offspring to leave his reign to. His vision of the world and power is pretty much selfish, firmly believing he is the only one who could ever establish peace and balance as a ruler of the three kingdoms.

However, despite that, he has no reason to mistreat kids. On the contrary, if he sees potential in them, he begins to instill doubts and his on ideals in their young minds. He might even humour them. He is not very fond of such weak creatures, who spend most of the day playing and weeping, but he values life.

Sometimes, he finds himself wondering how it would be if you got pregnant and blessed his life with the miracle of a child. He would never ask you to get rid of them. Yet, he would definitely plan the day when you get pregnant.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?).

Before going to bed, Sosuke needs to take a bath and sip on a cup of tea. Since you two started dating and became a couple, however, he added some other habits to his routine. Having you in his arms is one of them. There might be nights where he only desires the warmth of your smaller body in his arms, not minding being the big spoon, as you silently rest in the darkness.

There are times, though, when he is too stressed to find comfort in a peaceful moment of untainted tenderness. He ripped more than a gown of yours to lavish your body then. Albeit he rarely tells you what has been bothering him, you accepting him and making him feel loved make bad thoughts dissipate.

Falling asleep with you resting your head on his chest is how he would choose to sleep for the rest of his life.
