just watched the amazing digital circus and honestly i get the jax hype he's very gender
#not reblog#also the animation is just SO YUMMY#it kinda reminds me of storybots and pocoyo since the shadows are so soft and things are smoooooth like that#but it has the freedom of its setting#which has an entirely different style and lets the computer-esque 2d popups and overlays appear#as well as making text appear out of nowhere#also the squash and stretch animation my beloved <3<3<3<3<3#its so fun to watch and the animation is so BOUNCY its like everything is made out of rubber or kids toys#like there's no texture apart from where it's supposed to be#blobcore#so blobby#and each character moves in such a different way !!!!#i saw the video of someone who animated the walking and running cycles of the characters and WOW i LOVE THEM#this is just SO SO SO SO SO COOL#tadc#pomni hunches in on herself#ragatha is like. older sister kinda? her hair is strands of yarn which is SO COOL that you can tell and her legs and hands are also blobby#in the way that others' limbs arent#jax is thin and lanky and it reminds me of how i move irl like. accidentally cartoony. pulling one leg offscreen and then quickly dragging#himself like an elastic band. thats what it feels like#gangle has ribbons and it's just so fun to see how she moves around#this is! especially clear!! in the scene where she gets pulled down the hole!!! its so bouncy everything is so bouncy i love it#kinger's limbs being separate from his person;;;;;; its. wow. especially in that one scene where he's next to gangle and looks like he's#getting shaken around rapidly by a computer mouse#and zooble has mr. potatohead mechanics djsjjshd i love them nb characters my beloved#and the ai!! bubble and caine theyre my favorite duo honestly#popping bubble is just. jdhshdjdjd and caine's jelly tube limb movementsssss#i speak

Book Announcement: Radiosault!
I said three books in 2022, I put one of the three books on hiatus, I finished the first two and, folks, let me introduce you to the walk-off homer.
I suppose, as technical writing goes, Radiosault is my most ambitious project. Funny then, that it's also the shortest. 30K words, and a part of me still itches. Feels like too little, dammit. It's shorter than, like, shit I was writing before I had any concept of what releasing a book looked like.
Yeah, Braden, but what is the book?
Radiosault is presented in second-person. You are the protagonist, living alone in modern-day Seattle, where your goal is to convince a local radio station to play your boyfriend's music. Along the way, you'll acquire a toolbelt; a veritable gaggle of gadgets which serve you in ways cell phones never could. Cell phones specifically, because Radiosault's main interest is how we interact with the world and, in a broader sense, how that influences the things we create.
The majority of the cast is never seen or spoken to; what you have is the things they created and the inferences to be made. Be that a furniture designer who seems to hate sitting down or a needlessly upgraded Smart Toaster, it's the idea that something created is eventually set free and it's up to the individual to take in the creation and think something of the creator. Releasing books is a lot of the same. I often dread what someone will think of me based on what I've written, even if I don't have to bc odds are I never meet those people.

Well, you just saw it, but here's the full cover.
There was this... period, of time, back in the aughts. For fiction of a certain persuasion. The word I wanna use is ugly, which I'll use for my imitation. In contrast to the pretty I suppose but nonetheless blandness of modern book covers (blobcore, me and my friends say) this era was a contest to see who could get displayed backwards on the bookstore shelves faster. I don't think what I've made is unappealing to the eye, but it's certainly not attractive. Unless it does it for you, to which I'll say congrats, glad I could help.
Radiosault is out now, on my website. The PDF is free! I plan to drop an EPUB format within the next few months, along with a physical option, but not yet. I have physical release plans bigger than one book, and Radiosault will have to wait until then. Till that day, indulge, dammit!
