Ive been reflecting on the past drawings I made about my tadc prequel story/au/whateverthefuck (still working on a proper name). And I realized I have only drawn Kinger being constantly tormented by my OCs lmao.

All my characters either hate (Chemo and ESPECIALLY Buddie) or just dont care about Kinger (Daisy and Wriggly). Poor guy only has Queenie to give him any form of comfort.

All of these drawings are over a month old, damn.

I know that Kinger seems very out of character in these drawings. But in the context of my story, his mind hasn't been shattered yet. Also, being trapped with people who constantly insult, bully, and ridicule you and your wife can really fuck with your head.

hi, i'm not trying to be rude and you have no obligation to answer so please feel free to ignore this, but i'm genuinely curious about why you identify as a bi lesbian? i always thought those were completely different sexualities.

to be honest with you, you're right - i have very little interest in acting as educator on this blog i use for leisure, and the way i identify isn't really anyone's business. that being said, you've caught me at a time where i've been talking theory more frequently, and i appreciate that you're clearly not trying to be confrontational or name-call, etc.

my first remark is that i'm aware there's been discussion in the past of individuals using bi lesbianism to imply that trans women aren't really women (that is, that "lesbianism" alone wouldn't encapsulate trans women), which is not at all my intention! as many trans women have pointed out, it's become commonplace to say that "trans women are women" as a loose catchphrase to mean "anyone can be anything" or "do whatever you want, forever," and this is transmisogynistic; lesbianism is inclusive of trans women for the simple fact that they are women. i think it's important to acknowledge, before we discuss queerness in general, the rampant and rising transmisogyny within the queer community that influences the conversations we have.

in terms of my own identity, i think the most important thing to understand with queer identities is that - as much as we try to box things into neat and comprehensible words - our internal experiences are fluid and complex. one or two strict words for sexuality are never going to encompass every person's experience with sex, attraction, and gender, which are already impossibly complicated subjects to begin with! our western, english terms to describe sexuality are relatively new (this concept that who you want to have sex with is part of who you are is more-or-less recent, in the grand scheme of things) and certainly not universal. these are highly specific cultural ideas, and a large proportion of people (even white americans, which i am!) aren't going to fit perfectly within one box or another.

that is to say: the words that we use to describe ourselves are our best attempts to communicate something specific about ourselves to others, and aren't necessarily perfect encapsulations of our internal experiences. language is a tool to describe and communicate what we're interested in describing and communicating, not an instruction manual to mold ourselves around. (more specifically: i take a descriptivist approach to sexuality labels, while certain spheres are interested in a prescriptivist one.)

in terms of the labels i choose for myself, i'm happiest identifying as a bi lesbian because it captures the inherently fluid and often contradictory experience of my attraction. i enjoy that it isn't entirely "logical," because i find the patterns of my attraction illogical! i'm not attracted to men even and especially when i am interested in a particular man, and my sexuality is both expansive and exclusive. that might not make sense to you - my request to you, anon, is to accept and embrace that desire isn't always sensical or easily parsed.

and there are many elements of my sexuality that i choose not to share publicly, or discuss with people apart from close friends and partners! i generally tend to keep this space pretty clear of my personal life.

for the record, anon, i don't necessarily recommend asking strangers about the specifics of their identity unless they've advertised a willingness to talk and educate (i'd certainly much rather you'd asked me about fandom or herpetology!) but again, i recognize and appreciate your open-mindedness and genuine attempt to understand.

Today's headcanon is a bit different. It's about people knowing whether Solas is the Dread Wolf during Inquisition.

tl;dr - absent a very compelling reason, normal people wouldn't know he's Fen'harel. He is cagey about his past,and at a certain point it’s clear something is going on, but there is no connective tissue between him and Fen'harel until we learn that last piece of information.

In hindsight, yes, there are clues all over the place that he's the Dread Wolf. He's got a lot of little giveaways in dialogue, but they're more subtle than say Blackwall's dancing around his reveal. It's like "a puzzle with only half of the pieces", to quote Dorian, or trying to figure out a message hidden in a picture without the cipher that unlocks its meaning. Once you have the cipher - Solas is Fen'harel - the clues are obvious. But without it, he's just an increasingly enigmatic font of knowledge on all things related to the Fade. Even the Evanuris warned that he excels at disguising himself. If they couldn’t ferret him out, neither can a normal person.

Solas' lies are founded in truth, which makes them more believable. Look at his conversation with Blackwall about Skyhold: "How did you find this place?" "I looked." It's cagey, but it's also true and in character. It fits perfectly with what the game has told us about him since Haven. All of his half-truths do. When asked why he's guarded, he believably explains it away as being a wary apostate surrounded by a Chantry that would turn him Tranquil if he was in a Circle. He says as much to Vivienne. As the game goes on, there are more cracks in his story ("when were you last at court?"), but none of them lead to the "Dread Wolf."

The Temple of Mythal is a place where I can reasonably see people being like "hang on." I was when I first played. But I didn't connect it to "Dread Wolf" because there wasn't that cipher/connective tissue we need to reach that conclusion. At most, I thought he might actually be a sentinel. That's a more logical step than "he knows a lot about elves so he must be the elven god of trickery and rebellion." There's simply no foundation for that leap.

My measuring tape for this is Vivienne and Bull. They're both incredibly clever, and if anyone was to ferret out his secret based on his guarded responses, it'd be them. They are suspicious of his "lack of personal history" and unique style of magic. But even they, shrewd as they are, don't reach the Dread Wolf conclusion. No one does unless the Inquisitor finds the 4 clues in Trespasser, and that's two years after Corypheus' defeat.

Yes, his magic is very old, but during Inquisition he's not at full power. He's basically half of himself. Compare his magic in Inquisition versus Trespasser: in Trespasser, it's effortless, while in Inquisition, his magic is nothing more than what we see from Dorian or Vivienne. Neither Dorian nor Vivienne comment on him having great power. Vivienne even digs that his magic is unrefined. The only times we see him exhibit more power than we'd expect are: (1) the effortless torch lighting right before the journey to Skyhold; (2) his removal of the vallaslin; and (3) his shutting down Cole's empathetic reach into his feelings/memories.

People can't "sense" he's the Dread Wolf, or even someone with a huge powerbase. Cole is an exception, one I might make for other spirit muses. They might clock him as very old, living in a time where "the songs were the same", but even Cole's lines about him are not explicitly "Dread Wolf" related until Trespasser.

I was at a bookstore with a friend the other day and I was looking at a book in German that I was interested in buying, but then I saw that it was a translation and had originally been written in French

I commented idly to my friend "Sometimes I don't buy a book because it's a translation and I always prefer to read in the original language when possible" and she said in an agreeing-with-me way, "Yeah it would make more sense to read it in English"

and I realized she assumed I meant English when I said "original language"

but I couldn't bring myself to say "Yeah, or French or Dutch or Spanish or Italian or Portuguese or one of the other languages I read..." because like. who says that kind of thing.

one thing running @riordanverse-ship-polls has gotten me thinking about is that the fandom should bring back a lot of old ships that got dropped. Just to mix things up and add some more variety into the fandom again. The community used to have a lot of really interesting and really varied ships but now most of the stuff you see is canon and maybe a couple of leftover things from that time or some rarepairs and that's it (and a lot of weird aggression towards people who diverge from canon ships at all). Half the major characters don't even have prominent alternative ships to canon these days. Like, did you know Hazel/Piper used to be a decently popular ship? When was the last time you saw Hazel/Piper stuff? Probably never if you're a newer fan.

anyways we could really stand to have more variety. together we can bring back variety. the fandom needs to get weirder again. like cmon we've got some new characters let's thing of some new combos.

these two are the one so far that i'm fine with the designs (they are adopts from @/noeggets (go check them out, really cool artist) these aren't their real names, rather code-names that they used to hide their true identities, or precisely their old past 🛵Blue-hair girl is Mint, she focus on communicating with customers and all the paper works jobs, she good at hacking, has trouble with addiction which confuse a lot of people cuz' why a Reploid has that sort of problem, she actually exists since mmz era, and know Rouge, the operator of the Resistance. She was one of few people that works inside NA and help the Resistance by giving coordination to Rouge so Zero can have a safe transportation into certain areas. 🛵Purple hair girl is Campanula (the flower, Canterbury bells), a human (she is in mid 20s, just very short) , mainly works in storage, she is a skilled mechanic so she tend to helps with fixing the vehicles, mainly Aile because Aile tend to go into far more restricted-dangerous zones, sometimes the Guardian base would require her helps, despite her cheerfulness and outgoing attitude at first glance, she has troubles express her true thoughts and critics unless she feel comfortable around you.

(not final design) 🛵His name is Tomi, Yes, he count as an employees, he "disguise" himself as a motorcycle for delivering, mainly Aile use him. a mavericks gone "rouge" cuz' he got effected by the virus which was made by Campanula, it's not that he became more docile or kind, altho Campanula made sure he is incapable of attacking specifically her, he just...become more self-aware of his existence and decided that he prefer using his skill for st else other than be treated as a secondary mini-boss. He does genuinely like Campanula due to her carefulness when its come to machines, even to Mavericks like him. Other than her, Aile is another one that he also like because she impressed him with her riding skills (think of all the stunt from GTA video games) which lead to him admiring human tendency to seek danger as some sort of fun challenges. (he is one of the few OCs that i considered to be the oldest cuz' i had this concept for a long time ever since i played mmz)

Check their blog out, they are both cool artist and writer) 🛵Her name is Lake, she named it herself (or you can say OP is very uncreative when it comes to naming, lol) Another Mavericks gone "rouge", she became docile when failed to fully control Model L. she is one of few test subjects for Serpent to check how he can manipulate Ciel's biometals for his troops, Leviathan's subconscious "convinced" Lake to turn good which she success and Lake managed to escaped Serpent's controls but failed to take model L with her. She encountered Aile post-Ouroboros downfall, helping to pinpoint the leftover pieces of model Ws to ensure they stayed dead. (Aile didn't reveal Vent who was helping them finding the pieces, why tho? no idea currently, lol...) Then later on, she was saved by Aile and worked as some sort of submarine to transport packages and all sort of heavy stuffs across sea.

(not the final design) This old Reploid guy is Leo (funny enough, he is "younger" than Mint) He was made around the same time as Prometheus and Pandora (he doesn't know them but aware of their reputation) but instead of staying youthful, he remain as old (simply for aesthetic choice, "old-looking people are cool") He is a skilled mechanic, also a trader for rare parts and "illegal" equipments for people who don't want Legion's eyes on them (especially with the news about Master Albert gone Mavericks, lots more people been looking into this type of service)

Well, these are the one that has designs I have a loooot more, but they are all from a long time ago, and i do wish i can find those old papers again but not like i will reuse the designs.

nope ! in general i dislike making my blog easy to curate because well …. if u are for example bothered by my yapping / if you only want to read my fics i don’t think you should follow me, yk ? ^^;;;; it’d be annoying for you, and it’d make me self-conscious too …... this blog is my Home … my apt …..……

my recommendation to you would be to unfollow me and just save my masterlist in a tab, since i update it as soon as i post something new ! (<- not saying this in a mean way at all bc i Get it, but like . if u are annoyed by me even a little bit i strongly recommend unfollowing !!!!!) … i do have an ao3 (mauusfreak) but i’ve only crossposted a single fic so far. in the future that would be like what u are describing though!
