Top 5 Bruce Wayne canon girldad moments

In no particular order:

Letting Cass go on dangerous solo missions just because she gives him puppy dog eyes

That time he gave her a flying lesson on a mission with Dick and Tim and she almost crashed them all into the ocean and he was like "You're doing amazing sweetie" while Dick and Tim tried not to throw up in the background.

His attitude any time a boy or Stephanie Brown gets within 10 meters of Cass. Toxic girldads are still girldads!

That time Cass was grounded because they weren't sure if she was still brainwashed or not but she kept doing work anyways and when she and Dick got into a fight over it Bruce was like "Nah she's right. Go do what you have to do." while Dick stood there glaring with a kicked jaw.

The time Tim thought he killed a fake Batgirl but then was like wait a second Cass wouldn't go down so easily and Bruce's response was:

everyone knows that the bats (mostly) aren’t powered, or invincible, but it’s hard to really get a grasp on it

with the way they all move and act in and even out of the field, it’s unnerving in a way. they all have a certain aura of otherworldly power, even the newer members

everyone of the original members of the league has had a run in with batman injured and in need of help, being the first few to earn the vulnerability and subsequently trust from the bats

when wally held dick’s limp body in his hands as he rushed him back to the base for the first time, feeling his best friends pulse stop between his arms and subsequently jostling the injuries more. he almost wasn’t fast enough, dick was out of commission for three months

or when roy was told of jason’s death, ollie had to hold the kid as he scream cried for a friend and the life his friend never got to live, even though they were just joking the other day about how nothing could touch the bats

with kon still not 100% understanding his powers, and understating tim’s calcium intake, felt the bone crush in tim’s arm underneath his touch during a training exercise. it takes years for kon to trust himself again

jon and damian fought a lot, and damian was as stubborn as jon was determined. both are young when damian tells jon to not treat him ‘fragile’ and it ends with damian in the infirmary, and jon shaking and crying, telling his father he needs to put himself into a kryptonite prison for doing so

jefferson being the leader of the outsiders and understanding that, but it still being hard to grasp with both cass and duke. both are strong, and often taken for granted, but that makes them more powerful, enhanced it enough that when they both get knocked down by the villain of the week it’s really startling

and it’s a cycle that never ends, everyone seeing the bats as godly, and then inevitably losing it and freaking out when it’s revealed that they bleed like anyone else

Dick Grayson and Aang

ok but upon watching Avatar the Last Airbender (probably as a kid, but maybe as a young adult) for the first time, Dick Grayson would at first be really into it but progressively relate to Aang more and more.

Carefree young boys raised in a nomadic society, free to roam with their friends & family: Haley’s Circus + Graysons // Air Nomads + Aang’s friend’s all over the world 

and when they are separated from their families and culture through death (Dick + Aang) and time (mostly Aang, but arguably most of Dick’s life spent away from the circus) and make a new family with the people that they meet along the way to fix the world and use their abilities for good: 

Circus and the Grayson’s Romani heritage -->  Dick is part of the Batfam and becomes a vigilante with the intention of catching Tony Zucco.

Meanwhile  Southern Air Temple and the Air Nomads --> Aang meets Katara and Sokka, and later the rest of Gaang doing his best to fulfil his duty as Avatar to stop the Fire Nation, the people that committed genocide against his community 

Despite their circumstances, both boys put on a brave face and do their best to cheer up those around them, unafraid to show emotions or shy away from hard work. (they’re also both total dorks and I love them for it)

While going on their various life journeys, Dick’s growth from Robin to Nightwing and Aang’s forced character growth before Sozin’s Comet, both boys have to blend into their new worlds without trying to forget their past and their true motivation.

I feel its less obvious for Dick, especially as Nightwing, but occasionally we get hints (in comics, movies, games etc) about his family’s culture and traditions, or reminders about the Robin name and colours.

On the other hand is Aang’s clear struggle to balance himself, a goofy airbender who happens to also be the Avatar, with someone who is grieving his entire people and feels the weight of expectation and fear of letting his culture and its teachings die out as the sole survivor. This becomes even more apparent (to me at least) when Aang is trying to find a way out of killing Ozai. He knows he can’t let Ozai go unpunished, but he also doesn’t want to go against the Air Nomad teachings as its sole student, to kill him, or perhaps he is scared and clinging to the only thing he can, his principles.

Either way, I feel like as much as Dick (and all the batfam to be honest) would love Avatar the Last Airbender, Dick would relate to the show and Aang the most. And when he watched one of the last episodes, where Aang struggles to balance his heritage with his duty - his past and his present - with the Lion turtles, you best bet Dick Grayson was Feeling Things (and thats ok)

they also both have angsty red brother figures - i.e. Zuko and Jason

Tim isn't like Bruce btw. Tim is like Lex Luthor. (Like when we think of supervillain Tim he's not depicted in the way, say, Owlman is, he's depicted as more of a mad scientist type.) Most of the times he's gone off the rails I see him as cunning and cold and a little desperate, but he knows what he wants and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get it- typically Luthor traits. (Also very popular fanfics lean heavily into the cloning aspect and Bruce would never do that lol.)

Cass is like Bruce. Damian is like Bruce too. (Their evil alternate selves would so give Owlman vibes honestly.) They walk they Bruce, they fight like Bruce, they're emotionally constipated like Bruce, they're blunt and to the point like Bruce. Also if Bruce went off the rails it'd be mostly thoughtless murder murder murder and these two would definitely fall into that too if they went off the rails.

I like to think Dick is like his mother. That's why he's so good and confident and loud despite... well, Bruce. He gets his stunning looks from his mother too. And his heart is inherited from her, for sure. And his athletic ability is her. The manipulation tactics were probably picked up from Bruce tho ngl. But Dick is his mother's son in my eyes.

And Jason is his own person. He's purposely that way. After trying so hard to be someone else, trying to be a perfect copy of Dick, he can only be himself. Sometimes he sees his mother in his eyes and his father in the curl of his lips and Bruce in the way he holds himself, and he thinks he's them and that he's failed to be different and it scares him, but he's undoubtedly himself. And he's definitely not Bruce.

Imagine if the GIW started gunning for Jason without the Batfam ever meeting Phantom. Like, Bruce has to figure out on his own that the guys in white suits with Lazarus guns are 1. a legitimate government agency, and 2. are perfectly within their rights to hunt Jason like an animal, because 3. there's secret government legislation that says that since Jason's body processes ectaplasm, he's classified as non-sapient and has no legal protections.

Bruce calling up Clark like

Bruce: I am currently in the process of breaking into a government facility in order to dismantle their operations.

Clark: Okay? Do you need... help?

Bruce: Yes.

Clark: Sure, I'll be right there.

Bruce: Not that kind of help. Oracle is sending you the files now. I'd like you and Ms. Lane to make these people wish they were never born.

Clark: [speed-reading the documents] Oh yeah, can do. This is truly disgusting. If the public is half as outraged as I am, we'll get this sorted as fast as the courts can manage.

So Clark Kent acts as a whistle-blower, the Justice League publicly condems the Anti-Ecto Acts as inhumane, the GIW is disbanded, and Batman gets pardoned for all of those crimes that he technically did by assaulting federal agents. And after all that gets sorted, some white haired kid pops up in the Watchtower like "haha thanks for that I really didn't want a war between Earth and the Infinite Realms" and the League are like "wait what"

Talia introduced Damian to Bruce as "their second child", and now Bruce is mentally panicking because there's another one, somewhere, when this unspoken first child is Jason.

Uncle Damian Mode ACTIVATE

Twins Danny and Damian but! They both know where the other is (Damian going to Bruce and Danny being sent to the Fentons on a mission at a young age), has kept in touch and all that.

They just...never got around to telling anyone about the other.

That is until Danny comes interrupting Damian on patrol one night in a panic, pushes a bundle into his arms and hurriedly says "Read our texts! It'll explain! I gotta go, got a fruitloop on my tail! Be back when I can!"

And rushes off. When Damian looks down at the bundle in his arm, ignoring the yelling on comms and Nightwing rushing over, he is stunned to see a almost identical face to that of his brother staring back at him, only he can tell its female from the more delicate features.

When he later reads the texts his brother sent during his patrol... well he's tempted to go fruitloop hunting but he has a niece to take of... and inform his father of his granddaughter he's currently holding.

I 100% believe Lois Lane requested the presence of Bruce Wayne in her delivery room.

Nobody, not even the League, understood until it was time to give birth and Clark froze up at her bedside. Bruce was there to coach them both through it, as Clark’s friend and as Lois’ human reinforcements.

(Bruce flew to Metropolis in a helicopter when he got the news. He found Clark ashen and trembling at Lois’ side, eyes clenched shut as she screamed. He slid into place like he’d never been missing, talking Lois AND Clark through it like he delivered babies every day of the week)

Imagine being Barbara Gordon like you're sitting in your clocktower having just led a mission to stop assassinations of various political leaders while hacking the files of corrupt corporations in order to make sure they can't bankroll another attempted coup again and then you take a five second break to look outside your window and 2-5 of Batman's kids and sidekicks are clustered there like

"Babs do you have any chips we're all out."

Bruce with baby!Jason and toddler!Dick

Dick figuring out words but moves like he has no bones, cartwheeling, and Bruce has to keep running before him because Dick forgets the room eventually ends and then gets his forehead straight into a wall

Baby Jason Soo sweet and affectionate. Doesn't know how to give Bruce kisses so he'll kiss Bruce by bitting (but don't worry he doesn't have teeth yet)

Baby Jason being carried by toddler Dick is SOOO cute. Alfred taking pics, he's a proud grandpa

Dick likes when Bruce holds him upside down and giggles so loud it echoes. Jason who sometimes get so tired but still want to stay awake to play with Dick and Bruce

Jason will eat anything if he sees his big brother eating too. Jason who loves to watch cartoon with stories. He'll nod along to what Bruce says to him

Bruce getting back from a mission, says "ouch". Jason sees it, says "ooouch?"

Bruce will be talking to Dick and Jason will start to cry because he wants to be included in the conversation! He'll even babble along

One of those grey but comforting evenings where there's lots of rain and wind, Bruce flat out dead (sleeping) in the couch, Jason napping in his chest, Dick between the couch and Bruce and using his arm (that is not holding Jason up) as a pillow, snoring

Jason that pouts when he's focused (playing with his teether). Isn't easily tickled but does laugh when Bruce kisses his feet

His first word is "dick"

So the Harley Quinn show has a lot of issues (yeah wont go into that) but one inconsequential thing that is a craw in my dad is they made Scarecrow British? In what canon is he British???

Great one liners though, and the show had a lot of potential.

Just quickly dropping by to inform you that I read the first 13 chapters of AVC and I'm really loving it so far! The last two chapters kept me on the edge of my seat and the way it all unfolded got me !!!!!!! and I'm super curious how it will go on from there 👀👀👀👀👀

This is literally so sweet, you have no idea how much this means to me to hear !!!

I am so nervous about AVC leaving my hands and going on her own journey out in the world but I'm so glad it's found people who enjoy her!

I hope the remaining chapters treat you as well as the first 13!

Okay, listen.. Whatever Lex Luther, The Joker, and Harley Quin have in Lego DC Super villains..

I want that, it is one of the weirdest and most loving poly couples I've seen.
