Werewolves were passionate. That was just one of the many thoughts that went through Ravi's head as he lay under his girlfriend, her tongue licking her top lip before continuing to give her boyfriend hickeys.
He should be doing his history homework; it was due tomorrow, and while he was finished, he still hadn't turned it in.
Ravi's hand touched Leighla's hip, pulling her down more on top of him, the friction making them both shutter.
He should be calling his mom; he did promise to help her set up a meeting with Uncle Marcel, although he would never call him to the man's face. But it shouldn't be a problem; his mom knew he was in college; she probably thought he was doing some big papers. The thought of his mother's goons finding him in such an intimate position made him want to puke.
Leighla put her hands in his hair. Ravi could swear he could feel slight claws between the hair pulling, which made him harden, wishing that there weren't so many clothes between them.
Ravi thought about the dentist, how much he loved finances, anything to keep the growing pain between his legs to a minimum, which was proving hard as the most beautiful girl was straddling his lap, but he just felt it was wrong. Maybe he shouldn't. Hell, the universe gave him Leighla; shouldn't he take every moment he can with her before time runs out?
"Okay, what is it?" Leighla pulled back, her light skin flushed and her dark brown hair which was messy from the makeout.
Ravi couldn't turn away from the bluest eyes he'd ever seen, the light gold in the middle giving away her supernatural nature.
"Mh?" Ravi asked, surprised, as Leighla looked down at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you still upset that I brought you a strawberry donut?" Leighla asked, rolling her eyes. “I know you asked for a bagel, but they were out of bagels, so just enjoy your freakin donut!”
"What?" Ravi furrowed his brow before understanding. "No. The donut is fine, love." Ravi kissed her brow, which made her nose crinkle in such a way that Ravi almost passed out from cuteness overload.
"I'm just thinking." Ravi continued.
"About what? If something is bothering you, I would like to hear it; we are partners in crime, after all." Leighla said softly, touching his cheek, which Ravi instinctively leaned into.
"I was thinking about your dad."
Leighla's stumbled back. Her eyes widened in surprise, and then her face changed into disgust before nodding her head and getting off him.
"Alright. Well, I am going to go now." She said it in such a monotone way that Ravi thought the shock turned her into a robot.
Ravi frowned. "Wait...what?" It then clicked on what it sounded like, and he reached out to Leighla. "God! Not like that! Especially not when we were...ugh!" Ravi had the instinct to gag at the mention of Mr. Stolyarchuk, like, well, THAT!
"Well, what was I supposed to think? Why were you even thinking about my dad in the first place?"Leighla said, waving her arms around. Ravi guessed to get her point across.
Ravi pinched the bridge of his nose. "I meant, I was thinking about family and everything."
Leighla calmed down and sat on the bed; Ravi quickly followed.
"Family?"
"Yeah, about how I don't think it's right that we are hiding us from everyone."
Leighla pressed her lips together. "Technically, we are not hiding our relationship from everyone." She taped her foot. "David, Franklin, and Toby know about us."
"Those are school friends and humans at that; they don't even know what you are." Ravi gave a tried sigh, falling on the bed, the soft mattress comforting him.
Leighla soon followed, laying her head on Ravi's chest. "Well, they count; if you were able to keep your hands off me, maybe they wouldn't know as well." She said it in a teasing tone.
Ravi opened his mouth in surprise. "Me? If you forgot, you're the one who followed me to college."
Leighla hit her hand on his chest—not enough to hurt but to get his attention. "Followed you?! I was accepted!" She tucked her hair behind her hair, but that did nothing as her curly locks just went right back into their usual place. "I got a whole scholarship for running track and field, or did you forget?" Her voice was full of pride.
"I think you winning had something to do with you turning hairy now and again. Supernatural speed and all that." Ravi laughed at his girlfriend's glare. "Okay, okay, yes, if anything, I followed you."
Ravi's voice took on a more serious tone. "But do you think you would ever tell your family about us?"
Leighla spoke softly. "Do you?"
Ravi thought about his mother; her stoic and dark personality stuck in time, her features never changed, and her instincts never told her to let her guard down. But when he was alone with his mother, he noticed the slight twinkle in her eye as she stared at him, silently telling him that she was happy to see him. The shoulder touches, letting him know she had his back whenever he needed her.
Ravi didn't know if his mother was always so stoic; he knew that her becoming the next Blackwell made her have such a pessimistic view point, but he knew that she cared about her people, about humans, and about him, and that included his happiness.
"Yeah." Ravi nodded. "I think so; my mom probably already knows I am hiding something from her." She always knows. "She would want me to be happy." Ravi kissed Leighla's head.
Leighla looked up at him, snuggling into his chest more. "My sister would have a riot." Ravi laughed at the mention of Leighla's older sister. "Mom and dad, though you know that vampires have hurt them, dad still gets these nightmares."
Ravi frowned. "My mother isn't Blackwell, and neither am I." He moved a little so he was on his side, looking Leighla in the eye. "I'm just a normal human."
Leighla snorted and raised an eyebrow. "You might be human, babe, but you're not normal." Leighla touched his tattoo.
A black swan with a small crown on its head. His mother's symbol. Ravi remembered the last time he was kidnapped; it was the only one he could remember. A group of rogue vampires were able to beat up his mother's security and held him in a warehouse; what they didn't account for was the tracker on his backpack.
It wasn't long before his mother came into the warehouse.... alone. The smell of death in the air followed soon after, and that was the first time Ravi realized that his mother wasn't really human. He knew, of course, she didn't hide it from him, but to see your mother tear out the throats of her enemies really opened his eyes. It took him quite a while to get over that, but the next day, he was taken to a tattoo shop. That was when he got his mother's symbol on his arm.
It told everyone not to mess with him. The point was later made by his mother painting the walls of every territory with the kidnappers blood. The dried blood picture of her symbol, which didn't go over well, but it was soon settled in a meeting. Thankfully
No human, vampire, hunter, or witch ever messed with him again. He was treated like a prince because he was one; he was his mother's most cherished thing, and you didn't mess with Blackwell's things. Sometimes, he covered up; no one really knew what he looked like, but they knew the symbol, so he got by with being treated normally most of the time.
Ravi's mouth turned dry. "Fine, I'm not "normal," but my mother hasn't hurt your pack; you know how she is about her alliances or netural ground."
Leighla sighed. "I am not saying she isn't, babe, but my parents were really hurt—my cousin as well....my aunt.... My mom respects yours, but I don't know if...that will be enough."
Ravi played with Leighla's hair. "Do they know you are even dating?"
Leighla snorts. "My sister, Aunt Minjo, and my mom know I am dating a human; my dad is clueless; you know how protective he is."
Yes. Ravi did know how protective Mr. Sergi was; when Leighla's sister told her dad that she had found a mate from another pack, he was not happy at all. He almost scared the poor kid to death.
"Then I got to think of the pack." Leighla touched Ravi's cheek. "My mother is the alpha; how would that look if I were dating Blackwell's son?"
The silence was deafening; the couple just listened to each other's breathing, trying to ignore the thoughts in their heads, until Ravi spoke up.
"We could run away together." He said it softly.
Leighla froze. "What?" Her voice came out breathless.
"We could run away together." Ravi said it more firmly. He got up and started to pace. "Get on a bus and never look back."
Leighla sat up. "We can't do that, Ravi."
"Why the hell not, Lei? I tired of having to travel to other territories to go on dates or looking over our shoulders before we kissed." Ravi got on his knees in front of Leighla. "I want a kid, a house, and a big wedding with those napkins that are in cool shapes."
Seconds passed before Leighla raised an eyebrow, a twinkle in her eye. "A kid?"
Ravi licked his lips, fighting the instinct not to kiss her. "What? You don't?"
Leighla pulled him on top of her. "You said, kid. I need you to add an 's' to it, and you have me sold."
Ravi kissed her deeply, whispering. "I love you; you know that, right, Lei?"
Leighla grinned. "Not as much as I love you." After a pause, she said, "We will figure it out."
Ravi smiled, bringing her closer. "Yeah, we will figure it out."
