Hello!! I came across a couple of your animals with pride flags series (idk what you're actually calling it lol) and I wanted to request an intersex blue-ringed octopus (I'm not intersex myself tho lol, just thought it might look neat)

Oooh, this was a fun one! Thank you for the request! 🐙

An octopus that can change the size and color of patterns on its skin has inspired a deception technology platform for use in a variety of fields, including the military, medicine, robotics, and sustainable energy. With a split-second muscle contraction, the greater blue-ringed octopus can change the size and color of the namesake patterns on its skin for purposes of deception, camouflage, and signaling. The new devices will benefit from dynamically adjustable fluorescent and spectroscopic properties, ease of manufacturing, and potential for scaling to areas large enough to cover vehicles, billboards, and even buildings, the inventors say.

I finished my octopus socks! Pattern adapted from "Socktopus" from the book "Think outside the Sox".
My cousin turned 16 and she loves octopuses. Her favourite is the blue-ringed octopus so I adapted the toddler-sized sock pattern for adult size, did a lot of embroidery for the blue rings and eyes and then crocheted 16 arms - this took FOREVER
My cousin hasn't received them yet but I'm sure she'll love them 😊
You can find the project notes on Ravelry

In Japanese, Blue-ringed octopus is called ’Hyomondako’. It means leopard print octopus. I always though “LEOPARD??” but she?he? was pretty close it.

annnnd this little toxic (literally!!) bitch right there is an unnamed oc of mine who is basically the embodiment of my rage when playing splatoon
he's based off of a blue-ringed octopus and has venom constantly leaking out of his mouth. is a splatana stamper main and also bites ppl from time to time
he will certainly undergo a slight redesign now that there's an actual blue-ringed octoling in splatoon but that's a story for another day

Blue Ringed Octopus- these guys are so pretty but deadly!
Wanted to try out digital a bit more and see if I could get it to match the same way I draw traditionally. While its not completely the same I did like how it turned out and the program I used did a better job on the watercolor effects than other art programs I have used before

Did you know? Blue-ringed octopuses (members of the genus Hapalochlaena) are among the world’s deadliest cephalopods. Found in coral reefs in the Indian and Pacific oceans, these critters typically measure less than 8 in (20.3 cm) long. But, they pack a venomous bite that is potent enough to instantly paralyze, and even kill, a human being.

Do you like Squid Facts? 🔲Yes 🔲No
This valentines day, we thought you might need a little help from cephalopods to celebrate. Get a pack of 20 cards for your classroom, your coworkers, your neighborhood, frankly anyone who needs both a valentine AND a little bit of science to boot.
Get 'em here: https://squidfacts.bigcartel.com/
Proceeds benefit science education nonprofit Skype a Scientist AND the graduate student who designed these cards who is studying octopuses (Meg Mindlin @invertebabe!). Meg is trying to afford to get to a cephalopod neuroscience conference later this year and these cards will help her get there 🫡

They, of course, come with the classic heart stickers, a range of shades of pink and purple included.
