Die Nacht in der Hängematte war durch plötzliches Abkühlen der Temperatur und Mücken schon zäh genug, früher geweckt als nötig wurde ich dann von den Partyheimkehrern. So konnte ich dann noch Pascal und Jonas verabschieden, die es in die andere Richtung weiterpackten, und machte mich später auf den Weg zum Bus, wo ich die Wandersmänner traf die mit mir über die Grenze nach Panama ziehen wollten.

Erst mit dem Bus und dann mit dem Sammeltaxi bis zur Grenze, dort über eine große Brücke rüber nach Panama und dann mit Sammeltaxi und Boot nach Bocas del Toro, einer Inselgruppe in der Karibik Panamas.

In meinem Hostel angekommen traf ich schon wieder auf die Kölner Jungs, bzw. zwei von fünfen, da die anderen noch unterwegs waren. Lenni und Toni, die sich zum Mittagessen Nudeln machten und mich einluden. Später traf ich Marvin und Max wieder, die mit mir bis nach Bocas del Toro kamen aber in ein anderes Hostel einzogen. Wir zogen ein bisschen durch den Ort, erkundeten den Hauptteil der Insel.

Die Inselgruppe besteht aus einer Handvoll großer Inseln und unzähligen kleinen darum herum, die "Hauptinsel" stellt die Isla Colón dar. Dort ist am meisten los, am meisten Stadt und Tourismus. Besonders schön ist es da aber nicht, wenn man ehrlich ist. Als ich fürs Abendessen einzukaufen versuchte stellte ich fest, dass auch hier die Supermärkte von asiatischen Arbeitskräften dominiert werden. Der Einkauf war aber fast unnötig, da die Jungs, wieder zu fünft, abends für ihre ganze Gruppe aufkochten und meinten, es wäre genug da um mic hauch noch satt zu kriegen. Und so verpeilt diese Kids auch sind - grad so 19 Jahre alt, post-Abitur, super verpeilt, ständig am Streiten und immerzu über die Eisdile redend, in der sie das Geld für ihre Reise verdient haben - kochen tun sie wie kleine Meisterköche, es war wirklich gut.

Am nächsten Tag fragten die Jungs mich, ob ich mit zu ihrem Tagesausflug kommen möchte, und so fuhren wir mit dem Boot zur Insel Bastimentos und liefen vom Steg einmal über die halbe Insel bis zum Wizard beach. Und erstunlicherweise wirkte diese Insel etwas bunter und freundlicher als die Hauptinsel Colón.

Warum auch immer dieser Strand so heißt; er war sehr schön, bis auf uns verlassen und absolut ruhig. Bis Lenni sich langweilte und anfing, mit Tal eine Palmen-Hütte zu bauen.

Abends aßen wir wieder zusammen, und dann ging im Hostel das Trinken los; es war Freitag, und Freitage sind auf Bocas (und mittlerweile in den Regionen darum herum) als "Filthy Friday" bekannt. Für eine Unsumme Geld fängt man morgens schon das Trinken an, bekommt eine Bootstour von Insel zu Insel und ab und zu einen Kurzen dazu. Abends gibt es dann eine Afterparty, zu der dann all diejenigen hingehen, die nicht das Geld für den Trink-Tagesausflug ausgeben wollten. Und dahin wollten mich die Jungs mitnehmen. Ich weigerte mich wirklich lange, bis ich irgendwann einwilligte zumindest kurz mitzugehen, da es ja nah am Hostel war. Und tatsächlich war es überraschend langweilig, sodass ich nach einer halben Stunde wieder zurück ging.

Den nächsten Tag verbrachte ich mit Max und Marvin und zwei Italienern, die wir in Costa Rica bereits kennengelernt hatten.

Mit dem Boot fuhren wir vom Hauptanleger aus auf die andere Seite der Insel zum Starfish beach. Seinen Namen hat der Strand tatsächlich von all den großen Seesternen, die man unter Wasser beobachten kann. Wenigstens einmal während meiner Reise dachte ich daran, meine Taucherbrille einzupacken. Es hat sich sehr gelohnt, denn es machte beim umhertauchen nicht nur Spaß, die Seesterne aufzusuchen, sondern auch, sie beim Wandern zu beobachten (wenn man sie lang genug beobachtet sieht man die kleinen Flimmerhärchen auf der Unterseite, mit denen sie sich ganz langsam fortbewegen - langsam und trotzdem überraschend schnell.

Leider hielt das Wetter nicht, sodass wir im Regen wieder zurückfuhren. Regen, Regen, Regen, auch in Panama.

An meinem letzten richtigen Tag, den ich spontan länger blieb, verabschiedete ich mich von den Jungs, die bereits weiterzogen, und machte mich nachmittags auf den Weg zum Tauchcenter. Ich hatte mich auf Empfehlung spontan dazu entschieden, meinen in Honduras neu erworbenen Tauchschein gleich zu testen und mich für eine Bootfahrt mit zwei Tauchgängen anzumelden. Und tatsächlich hatte es sich mehr als gelohnt: Das Bocas Dive Center ist sehr sauber, hat top Equipment und meine Tauch-Instruktorin Kelly war super cool. Mit ihr und noch einem Engländer waren wir nur zu dritt auf dem Boot und die Tauchgänge waren super schön. Neben den unzähligen bunten Korallen und farbenfrohen Fischen sahen wir auch noch einen großen Rochen und *endlich* zwei Ammenhaie, es war wirklich super schön! Als wir wieder auf der Insel waren zeigte Kelly uns nochmal die speziellen Fische, die wir gesehen hatten, in ihrem Meeresbiologie-Buch.

Zurück im Hostel machte ich außer dem Packen meiner Tasche nichts mehr, denn Tauchen ist für mich jedes Mal wieder überraschend anstrengend und ich wollte mich auf meinen bevorstehende Reisetag vorbereiten.
